2010 Joseph Phelps Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 8-bottle lot of 2010 Joseph Phelps Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (94RP, 91JS, 91ST, 90CG). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon is beautiful. Scents of pain grille, mocha, black currants, spices and plums emerge from this deep, resonant wine. The 2010 possesses stunning textural depth and richness, not to mention phenomenal overall balance. Readers who want to get a sense of the 2010 vintage without spending a huge amount of money may want to start here. This is a dazzling wine, especially within its price range. The 2010 is 92% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Merlot and 2% Petit Verdot. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2025. (AG)" (12/2012)

1986 Margaux, Margaux
Bid on this bottle of 1986 Margaux, Margaux (98AG, 98RP, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A magnificent example of Chateau Margaux and one of the most tannic, backward Margauxs of the last 50 years, the 1986 continues to evolve at a glacial pace. The color is still a dense ruby/purple with just a hint of lightening at the rim. With several hours of aeration, the aromatics become striking, with notes of smoke, toast, creme de cassis, mineral, and white flowers. Very full-bodied, with high but sweet tannin, great purity, and a very masculine, full-bodied style, this wine should prove nearly immortal in terms of its aging potential. It is beginning to budge from its infantile stage and approach adolescence. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2050. Last tasted, 12/02. (RP)" (01/2003)

2005 Sine Qua Non "Mr. K Straw Man" Marsanne Vin de Paille (375ml)
Bid on this half-bottle of 2005 Sine Qua Non "Mr. K Straw Man" Marsanne Vin de Paille (375ml) (100RP, 95ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Even more remarkable is the 2005 Mr. K. Marsanne Vin de Paille The Straw Man. One-hundred percent Marsanne from the Beckmen Vineyard, with remarkably low alcohol (7.5%), a whopping 392 grams of residual sugar per liter, and exceptional acidity (6.4 grams of acid per liter), this is one of the most singular sweet wines I have ever tasted. It rivals the great 2000 Suey that was made from Roussanne and ended up with 241 grams of residual sugar. The individualistic, prodigious sweet wines are the products of meticulous attention to detail, obsessive harvesting requirements, and amazing vinifications and upbringings. They are unbelievable elixirs, and this one is as complex and intense as any sweet wine made in the world. It is a fitting tribute to the genius of both Manfred Krankl and his late partner, Luis Kracher. (RP)" (06/2008)

1966 Grand-Puy-Lacoste, Pauillac
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1966 Grand-Puy-Lacoste, Pauillac. In his book "Vintage Wine," critic Michael Broadbent wrote of the 1966 Grand-Puy-Lacoste: "This always is a long-distance runner, and a château whose wine I now buy every vintage. My first taste of the '66 was a pleasant, piquant Justerini & Brooks' bottling in 1971. At a Decanter tasting in 1979, softer than Ducru; a well-developed, characteristically sinewy classic in the mid-1980s. Last tasted April 1993. **** and still developing."

Of the 2003 Ojai "Verna's Vineyard" Santa Barbara County Syrah,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "A new offering, the 2003 Syrah Verna’s Vineyard (a site owned by Chad Melville) is a silky-textured effort revealing tremendous opulence along with abundant quantities of blackberry, cassis, and acacia flower characteristics. The pH is low, but the wine is plush and succulent, belying the statistical analysis. Given its primary, fruit-driven character, this full-bodied Syrah will benefit from 1-2 years of bottle age, and should last for 12 or more. " (06/2005)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2006 Williams-Selyem "Coastlands Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (94WE, 93ST, 92RP, 90W&S). Wine Enthusiast: "Like the tannic 2005, the winery’s ’06 needs time in the cellar. It’s a bit hard and closed. But it’s simply humongous in flavor, offering a deep well of blackberry and mulberry flavors and various wild berries with no names. You’ll also detect dark chocolate, anise, Asian spices and beef jerky." (03/2009)

2008 Marcassin "Marcassin Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay
Bid on this bottle of 2008 Marcassin "Marcassin Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay (100RP, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Utterly perfect, the 2008 Chardonnay Marcassin Estate is a dead-ringer for the 2007, but slightly richer and longer, as hard as that may be to believe. This extraordinary effort is unquestionably the 'Chardonnay of the Vintage.' In fact, it may be the 'Chardonnay of the Decade.' Brioche, nectarine, citrus and orange blossom notes intermixed with a liqueur of rocks, great acid, phenomenal concentration and staggering length result in a sublime Chardonnay that should drink well for 15+ years. Bid on this bottle of 1998 Haut-Brion, Pessac-Léognan (97WS, 96RP, 94ST). Wine Spectator: "Dark color, with decadent aromas of truffles, meat, ripe berries and tobacco. Turns to sweet, crushed berries. Full-bodied, with very polished tannins and a berry and mineral aftertaste. The serious tannin structure is still hiding behind the fruit of the wine. Tightly wound and beautiful. Solid as a rock. A classic wine. (Web Only-2009)"

2012 Rivers-Marie "Summa Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2012 Rivers-Marie "Summa Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (94AG, 93ST). Antonio Galloni: "The 2012 Pinot Noir Summa Vineyard is drop-dead gorgeous. Cranberry, red cherry, wild flowers, mint and cinnamon meld together beautifully. I find a little more depth and focus in the Summa next to the Summa Old Vines, which is a bit more wandering, especially in its aromatics. Layers of bright red fruit build to the crystalline, inviting finish. The 2012 is round and supple in style, yet also layered with vibrancy." (02/2014)

2005 Brane-Cantenac, Margaux (375ml)
Bid on this 6-half-bottle lot of 2005 Brane-Cantenac, Margaux (375ml) (95RP, 94WE, 92WS, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A sexy, style of wine from the Lurtons at Brane-Cantenac, this wine (a blend of 51% Cabernet Sauvignon, 41% Merlot and the rest Cabernet Franc) has a stunning nose of forest floor, licorice, blackcurrants, plums and spring flowers. Soft tannin, full-bodied opulence and beautifully textured, lush richness, make for a brilliant wine from this large, 180-acre vineyard. In spite of the wine’s stunning forward fragrance and lushness, the color still looks as if it is 3-4 years old, rather than a decade. This is a big-time winner in 2005 and should drink well for at least another 25+ years. (RP)" (06/2015)

This smells uncannily like a top-level Northern Rhone wine, with potent dark berry, smoked meat and violet scents complicated by graphite and iron. Smoky and lush, with vivid blackberry and cassis flavors, excellent depth and fine, silky tannins; a hint of mocha comes up with air. Of the 2011 Domaine William Fèvre Chablis-Les Preuses Grand Cru ,Allen Meadows - Burghound writes: "(from two parcels of vines that total 2.55 ha, or 22% of the entire appellation). If the Côte de Bouguerots is the biggest wine in 2011 then the Preuses is arguably the most aromatically complex with a broad ranging nose of perfumed and ripe scents of oyster shell, sea water, citrus and white flowers. The silky and refined flavors are wonderfully seductive with an intense minerality to the austere, bone dry and balanced finish that exudes hints of saline and iodine. In sum, this is flat out stunning." (09/2012)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2006 Rochioli "Estate" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir (94W&S, 92WS, 90BH, 90ST). Wine & Spirits: "There's a complex, dynamic wine at the core of this Pinot, needing plenty of air or several years of bottle age to show itself. Over the course of several days, the wine transforms from taut red raspberry and some funky reduction toward lovely, expressive depths of flavor. It has the ping of perfectly ripe black-cherry skin, built on that sweet tannin to last five to eight years in the cellar." (10/2008)

2001 Cardinale Napa-Sonoma Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2001 Cardinale Napa-Sonoma Bordeaux Blend (95RP, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the flagship wines of the late Jess Jackson’s Artisans and Estates limited production offerings is the 2001 Cardinale, a blend of 73% Cabernet Sauvignon and 27% Merlot from some of the finest Jackson-owned vineyards on Mt. Veeder, Keyes on Howell Mountain, Alexander Mountain Estate as well as purchased fruit from the Stagecoach, To-Kalon and Peter Michael vineyards. This sensational, layered, opulent, voluptuous 2001 (the last vintage in which any fruit from Sonoma was used in the final blend) boasts a dense purple color along with a big, rich perfume of kirsch, creme de cassis, subtle toasty oak and incense. Full-bodied, round and generously endowed with an endearing corpulence, this fleshy, full throttle, juicy Cabernet Sauvignon-dominated 2001 can be drunk now or cellared for another 15+ years." Tannins are well-integrated. Best from 2007 through 2015. " (07/2006)

2002 Araujo "Altagracia" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2002 Araujo "Altagracia" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (91RP, 90ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Everything is about quality, as evidenced by Araujo's second wine, the 2002 Altagracia. A selection of 650 cases that is about two-thirds Cabernet Sauvignon and equal parts (about 14% each) Merlot, Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Franc, this is one heck of a second wine. A beautifully fragrant nose of cedar wood, flowers, pepper, and spice box along with the telltale red and black fruit soars from the glass. On a much quicker evolutionary track than the Eisele Estate Cabernet, it is supple-textured as well as loaded with fruit and complexity. Already accessible, it possesses the balance and depth to evolve for 10-12 years. (RP)" (12/2005)

The long, supple finish, with a lovely wafting note of Lapsang souchong tea, is packed with minerality and tight-grained tannins that will need time to fully evolve. One of the more backward 2009s, though this should pick up steam in the cellar. Best from 2013 through 2025." (11/2011)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2004 Cos d'Estournel, St-Estèphe (95JS, 94WS, 92RP, 91ST). James Suckling: "*Daily Collectibles* This is another example of the wonderful 2004 vintage for Bordeaux. They are so delicious to drink now. The Cos is one of the best out there. And very reasonably priced at less than $150 a bottle. The charcuterie that hits you as soon as you open this Bordeaux is overwhelming: It's smoky, spicy and sexy. Minutes later you realize the complexity on offer, catching just a scent of the dark fruits hidden beneath, and before those, long and wonderful hints of balsamic vinegar. On the palate this shows elegance and finesse thanks to fabulous balance, extremely integrated tannins and a long and glorious finish. This is so satisfying and wonderful now, but the slightly bitter aftertaste on the rear palate suggests this could do with at least another 10 years before opening. " (08/2014)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 Domaine du Vieux Telegraphe "La Crau" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (97RP, 96WS, 94ST, 94W&S). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Performing considerably better than it did prior to bottling, the 2010 Vieux Telegraphe Chateauneuf du Pape is one of the all-time great Vieux Telegraphes I have tasted in the last 3+ decades. I believe it is even superior to the 2007, which I had several weeks ago. The 2010 boasts a dense purple color along with a sumptuous bouquet of spring flowers, boysenberries, black cherries, black currants, nori (the sushi seaweed wrapper), black olives, licorice and pepper. This full-bodied, meaty, thick, juicy effort possesses a boatload of tannin, but it also has incredible concentration. More massive than I remember from last year, it has put on considerable weight and intensity. Forget it for 3-4 years, and drink it over the following 25-30 years. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2011 Domaine Alain Hudelot-Noellat Nuits-St.-Georges 1er Cru "Murgers" ((89-91ST), 90BH). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright, moderately saturated red. Deeply pitched nose conveys plum, spices and earth. Smooth, smoky and subtle; in a warmer style than the foregoing wines but fresh too, offering good finesse to its raspberry and underbrush flavors. Finishes sappy, savory and long, with fine-grained tannins. This was picked on the first day of the harvest with grape sugars in the low 12s, said Van Canneyt, adding that it was chaptalized to 13.5%." (01/2013)

2006 Domaine du Pégaü "Cuvée Réservée" Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2006 Domaine du Pégaü "Cuvée Réservée" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (94RP, 94ST, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2006 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Reservee shares a similar meaty, gamy character intermixed with abundant notes of kirsch liqueur, ground pepper and Provencal herbs, sweeter tannins than the 2005, a voluptuous, full-bodied mouthfeel, and a long finish. The fruit seems sweeter and I would not be surprised if the 2006 has higher alcohol than the 2005 (although all top vintages here tend to be in the 14.8-15.6 range). This big, rich, impressive effort will age effortlessly over the next 20-25 years. " (10/2010)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 Domaine Grand Veneur "Les Origines" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (95RP, 93ST, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Another blockbuster is the 2010 Chateauneuf du Pape Les Origines. A blend of 50% Grenache, 30% Syrah and 20% Mourvedre (45- to-95-year-old vines) aged in small oak, it exhibits an opaque purple color as well as a sweet bouquet of blackberries, espresso roast, ink and graphite. While clearly a modern-styled Chateauneuf du Pape, it retains plenty of the region's typicity and authenticity. It should drink well for 15+ years. " (10/2012)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2009 Domaine Henri Boillot Volnay 1er Cru "Les Chevrets" (92ST, 91AG, 91BH). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good deep red-ruby. Wild aromas of redcurrant, coffee, game, chocolate and leather; smells like maturing Bordeaux. Deep, sappy and extroverted, with plenty of tension and ripe acidity to its chewy dark fruit and chocolate flavors. In a distinctly warm, ripe style but with superb energy today. Finishes with big tannins and excellent length." (04/2010)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2005 Domaine Henri Gouges Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru "Les Pruliers" ((90-92BH), (90-92RP)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Being assembled the day I visited, the Gouges’ 2005 Nuits-St.-Georges Les Pruliers offered smoke-tinged, lightly-cooked black raspberry and dried cherry fruit, sweet underlying nuttiness, and a juicier, more invigorating personality than any of the already bottled wines in this year’s collection. A really imposing spread of berry, floral, roasted meat and saline mineral elements coat the palate. Abundant but fine tannin never interferes with this wine’s generosity. (DS)" (06/2007)

Wine Enthusiast: "Owner of one of the largest parcels of Clos de Vougeot, Grivot makes one of the benchmark wines from the vineyard. This starts out dry to taste, but then there is an explosion of strawberry and red currant fruits as the tannins fall back to reveal a wine that, while big, is certainly not overwhelming—leave that to more powerful vintages than 2004." 2008 Domaine Jean Grivot Clos Vougeot Grand Cru
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2008 Domaine Jean Grivot Clos Vougeot Grand Cru (94BH, 93RP, 93WS). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A discreet touch of wood frames strikingly complex, ripe, fresh and quite densely fruited earth suffused red pinot aromas that lead to rich, full-bodied and textured flavors that exude an overt muscularity on the equally explosive finish where the integrated tannins confer a dusty mouth feel to the moderately austere finale. This is an extremely impressive effort but note that even more patience will be required." (01/2011)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2004 Domaine Jean Grivot Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru "Les Beaux Monts" (91ST, 90BH). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good medium red. Aromas of black plum and violet lifted by spices. Rich and seamless, with good lift and definition to the plum and floral flavors. Finishes with broad, palate-dusting tannins and lovely aromatic persistence. Very sexy already. I asked Grivot why he uses a good 20% more new oak than he did ten years ago. "Seduction," he responded succinctly, adding that he does not use "powerful" oak." (03/2007)

Cooler aromas of dark cherry, raspberry, smoke and minerals. Juicy, tight and firmly built; sweet but not at all cooked. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Domaine J-F Mugnier Nuits-St-Georges 1er Cru "Clos de Marechale" (92RP, (89-92ST), 91BH). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Nuits St. Georges Clos de la Marechale shows the more virile side of Pinot. Black cherries smoke, tar and licorice all come to life in this intense, broad-shouldered wine. Layers of fruit build to the muscular, virile finish. The wine’s masculine personality is quite a contrast to the seductiveness of Mugnier’s other 2009s. (AG)" (04/2012)

2007 Domaine Saint Siffrein Chateauneuf-du-Pape
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2007 Domaine Saint Siffrein Chateauneuf-du-Pape (94RP, 90ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The finest effort I have yet tasted from this estate, the 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape is composed of 65% Grenache, 15% Syrah, 15% Mourvedre, and 5% Cinsault. Its traditional upbringing included 100% aging in old foudres. Its dense ruby/purple color is followed by a big, sweet, juicy kiss of kirsch liqueur intermixed with blacker fruits, raspberries, licorice, camphor, and hints of lavender and incense. The wine exhibits terrific concentration, full-bodied intensity, and a 45-50-second finish. This sensational Chateauneuf du Pape will benefit from another 2-3 years of bottle age, and should drink well for 15-20 years. (RP)" (10/2009)

A superb texture, sweet tannin, and an opulent, voluptuous mid-palate and finish suggest this 2003 can be drunk now and over the next 7-10 years. (RP)" (06/2005)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2003 Dominus Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (95RP, 93W&S, 92ST, 91CG). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2003 Dominus is a blend of 88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot (14.1% alcohol). Remarkably, it is the 20th vintage for Christian Moueix. Always a Bordeaux-inspired wine with restraint yet substance as well as a textured richness, the 2003 exhibits a deep plum/ruby/purple color, a creamy, opulent texture, no hard edges, and a wonderful sweetness of foresty, black currant and cherry fruit mixed with underbrush and hints of Chinese black tea. Well-proportioned and full-bodied, yet never over-stated or out of balance, this is another beauty from Moueix. Drink it over the next 15+ years. (RP)" (06/2013)

2005 Dominique Laurent Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru "Les Sentiers" Vieilles Vignes
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2005 Dominique Laurent Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru "Les Sentiers" Vieilles Vignes. According to Stephen Tanzer: "Laurent has built his negociant business on buying essentially two types of wines: those that get what he calls a naif vinification, featuring gentle extraction and minimal intervention (Laurent often calls these "vins de paysanne") and those made entirely from whole clusters (the vendange entier method). Wherever possible he works with ancient vines, often true pinot fin. Because his elevage helps to preserve the genetic identity and the energy of the wines he selects, he tends to outperform in very ripe years. Not surprisingly, his 2005 collection offers plenty of thrills." (International Wine Cellar, 03/07)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2005 Duhart-Milon-Rothschild, Pauillac (94RP, 93WS, 91ST, 90WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The finest Duhart-Milon ever made? This structured, tannic, dense ruby/purple-tinged Pauillac offers up hints of cassis, licorice, chocolate, and earth. Medium to full-bodied with good purity, strong tannins, and undeniable elegance, it reveals a character not dissimilar from its renowned sibling, Lafite-Rothschild... It is unquestionably outstanding, but to my taste, slightly less opulent than the estate’s ethereal 2003. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2030. (RP)" (04/2008)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Domaine de la Mordorée "La Reine des Bois" Lirac (92RP, 91ST, 91WE, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Domaine de la Mordoree remains the reference point for how good Lirac can be. It is an appellation with tremendous potential, and a number of Chateauneuf du Pape estates are buying up vineyards in the appellation. The 2009 Lirac Cuvee de la Reine des Bois is another star from Christophe Delorme. Loads of kirsch, black currant and crushed rock notes along with a hint of spring flowers are all present in this dense purple, medium to full-bodied, delicious wine ... (RP)" (10/2011)
