2009 Caymus "Special Selection" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2009 Caymus "Special Selection" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (97WE, 93WS, 91CG). Wine Enthusiast: "So delicious now, you can hardly keep your hands off it. Blackberry tart, ripe blueberry, cassis, milk chocolate, licorice and sweet, smoky cedar flavors flood the mouth, dramatically huge and memorable, and lasting long into the finish. The tannins are obvious, but sweetly ripe and soft. A brilliant evocation of Napa Cabernet, despite a high production level of nearly 30,000 cases, which is about the same size as a Bordeaux first growth. Shows the class and potency this bottling has exhibited for many years, and believe it or not, the price is a is a relative bargain these days." (03/2012)

Reticent nose hints at pear, clove, menthol and wet stone. Concentrated and penetrating, with harmonious lemony acidity framing and carrying the smoke and lemon flavors. At once dense and crisp, and nicely long on the aftertaste. Needs some time in bottle to express itself. (ST)" (09/2013)

2009 Sine Qua Non "This Is Not an Exit" Sta. Rita Hills Grenache
Bid on this bottle of 2009 Sine Qua Non "This Is Not an Exit" Sta. Rita Hills Grenache (96RP, 95ST, 94VN, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "More open, upfront and sexy, the 2009 Grenache This is Not an Exit is comprised of 79% Grenache, 15% Syrah, 3% Viognier, and 3% Roussanne that spent 31 months in roughly 35% new French oak. Showing overflowing richness, with notions of incense, spice cake, potpourri, and creamy raspberry fruit, it is a full-bodied, voluptuous, and decadent Grenache geared for drinking over the coming decade or so. Drink now-2023. About as good as it gets across the board, these singular, incredible wines are the result of an obsessive attention to detail at all stages of the wine making process. There is no secret or hidden magic going on here. The incredibly talented and down-to-earth Manfred Krankl simply walks the walk as opposed to only talking about attention to detail or offering up the standard, wine is made in the vineyard comments. 1999 Pride Mountain "Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1999 Pride Mountain "Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (95CG, 94RP, 93WS, 92ST). Connoisseurs Guide: " *Three Stars* One of our favorites from what proved to be a very fine bunch, the 1999 is a remarkable, wonderfully well-focused Cabernet that is just beginning to come into its own. It is at once intense and outgoing and yet it seems to hold a great deal in reserve, with a great sense of extract and an almost claret-like structure. Despite the fact that it is still buttressed by plenty of youthful tannins, it never dries out or seems overly tough, and its incisive, remarkably long-lasting fruit should hold in good stead for next couple of decades. It was our favorite of the Pride Reserves of the 1990 decade when first reviewed and it remains so today." (02/2012)

The wine reveals some smoke in the aromatics, but little, if any, in the flavor profile. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2008 Domaine Vincent Dauvissat Chablis 1er Cru "Forest" (94RP, 93ST, 92BH). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Rene Dauvissat’s 2008 Chablis La Forest achieves a remarkably vibrant sense of interplay and complexity characteristic both for its vintage and for this cuvee at its best. Scents of iris, white truffle, crushed chalk, saline-alkaline ocean breeze, tart plum, white peach and grapefruit all have their counterparts in a palate performance of riveting interactivity and prodigious yet continually fascinating length. There is a firm feel, brightness, and in the end a tendency for its mineral aspects to slightly dominate this show that result in a sparer impression than the corresponding 2007, something of a reversal of these vintage’s normal roles. Once again, here is an exceptional Chablis premier cru that should be worth following for a dozen or more years. (DS)" (10/2010)

Domaine Leroy's lineup ranges from this Bourgogne Rouge at about $35 to bottles costing several hundred dollars. And though the price may seem high for an entry-level Burgundy, the 2003 Bourgogne Rouge is better than many premier crus at twice the price. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 Clos des Papes Châteauneuf-du-Pape (99RP, 98WS, 96ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Chateauneuf du Pape flirts with perfection. A classic blend of 65% Grenache, 20% Mourvedre and the rest Syrah, Vaccarese and Counoise, all aged in large foudres in Clos des Papes's air-conditioned and humidity-controlled wine cellar, the wine boasts a dense purple color along with lots of gorgeously pure black raspberry, black currant and kirsch liqueur notes intermixed with notions of spring flowers, tapenade, licorice and spice box. This dense, full-bodied, powerful Chateauneuf is also remarkably fresh and well-delineated. It even exceeded the 2007 in natural alcohol, coming in at 15.9%. With an extraordinary texture and considerable tannin in the finish, it will benefit from 3-5 years of bottle age, and is built for 25-30 years of cellaring. Don't miss it! A 100% Grenache that sees no new oak whatsoever, it possesses exotic aromas and flavors of lavender, olive, river rock and spiced meats that are all grounded by a sweet core of black cherry-like fruit. Of the 2005 Concha y Toro "Don Melchor" Cabernet Sauvignon Puente Alto,Wine Spectator writes: " *Highly Recommended, #12 on Top 100 of 2008* Still very tight, but the tannins that lead the way now are sleek and refined, and should easily meld into the huge core of roasted chestnut, black currant paste, warm fig and tar. Has a long, coffee and loam-tinged finish. " (06/2008)

Of the 2005 Clos des Papes Châteauneuf-du-Pape,Wine Spectator writes: "**#1 in Top 100 Wines of 2007 & Collectibles designation** Really tight now, but packed with dark fig, currant, espresso, licorice and chocolate notes. Superfleshy but seriously structured, there's layer after layer of sweet spice, fruit and minerality pumping through the finish, with lots of latent depth and power. Far more backward than the 2003 or 2004 on release, but since this red typically puts on weight as it ages, it should be a monster--à la the 1990--when it reaches its peak." (12/2007)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 Bevan Cellars "EE Cuvee" Oakville Red (95RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Red Wine EE is gorgeous. Freshly cut flowers, cassis, menthol, licorice and black cherries burst from the glass. All the elements are nicely balanced in this delicious, totally beautiful wine. Hints of cloves, roasted coffee beans, menthol, and graphite add complexity on a distinctly Cabernet Franc-laced finish. The 2010 is 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot. 2011 Kamen Estate Sonoma Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2011 Kamen Estate Sonoma Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (92VN). Vinous: "Graphite, smoke, dark red fruit, iron and a host of mineral-inflected notes jump from the glass in Kamen's 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon. There is tons of mountain personality in this dense, structured, powerful Cabernet. In 2011, Kamen did not produce their top of the line Kashmir; all of the best fruit went into the straight Cabernet Sauvignon. Proprietor Robert Kamen has put together a dream team at his rugged hillside vineyard, which is in the new Moon Mountain AVA. Phil Coturri takes care of the viticulture, while Mark Herold makes the wines. Is it any surprise these new releases are so compelling? Kamen Estate is proving to yield more than just the Cabernets most people have at least heard about. The Sauvignon, Viognier, Syrah and now the Cabernet Franc are all testament that this is one of the great vineyard sites in northern California. (AG)" (02/2014)

Of the 2005 Ackerman Family Vineyards Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "The eastern Vaca Mountain foothills are the source of this limited-production (500 cases) Cabernet. The medium to full-bodied 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon is dense plum/garnet-colored, with a fresh, lively nose of plum, spice and blackcurrants. It is quite vigorous and lively, although I think it has entered its plateau of full maturity... (RP)" (06/2015)

2011 Outpost "True Vineyard" Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2011 Outpost "True Vineyard" Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon (96RP, 95VN, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: " Even better is the 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon True Vineyard, one of the candidates for wine of the vintage. It, too, is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon and is given the same basic elevage as the other wines except the percentage of new French oak increases to 90%. There are 375 cases of this beauty, which may be the greatest Cabernet Sauvignon Outpost has made to date. Abundant notes of creme de cassis, blueberry, acacia flowers (or is it violets?), licorice and wet stones are followed by a full-bodied, superbly concentrated, multidimensional, endearingly textured wine with low acidity and ripe tannin. Drink it over the next 15-20 years. (RP)" (10/2013)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2010 Melka "La Mekerra Vineyard" Knights Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (95RP, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Metisse La Mekerra Vineyard, a Cabernet Franc/Merlot blend, is striking. Mocha, espresso, grilled herbs, licorice and new leather jump from the glass in this striking, gorgeous wine. Rich, sumptuous and beguiling, the 2010 impresses for its captivating bouquet and drop-dead gorgeous personality. The Cabernet Franc comes through in spades. The 2010 needs a few years to soften, but it is fabulous, even now. The blend is 55% Cabernet Franc and 45% Merlot. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2030. (AG)" (04/2013)

2010 Larkmead "Firebelle" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 Larkmead "Firebelle" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (94JS, 94RP, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Merlot-based 2010 Proprietary Red Wine Firebelle boasts stunning depth, power and richness. Black cherries, chocolate, spices and new leather explode from the glass in this deep, resonant wine. There is more than enough fruit to fill out the wine’s big, broad-shouldered frame. This is an especially structured vintage for the Firebelle, partly because the Merlot is the lowest ever. Winemaker Andy Smith did a lot of co-ferments with the 2010 to bring all of the elements together. The 2010 is 42% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Malbec, 5% Petit Verdot and 5% Cabernet Franc. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Endre explodes from the glass with juicy dark cherries, plums, cloves, orange rind and new leather. There is an exotic, extroverted quality to the 2010 that is highly appealing. Ripe, silky tannins add to an impression of total precision and finesse. Although the 2010 is an infant, its sense of harmony is so compelling the wine drinks beautifully right now. The 2010 is 53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 43% Merlot, 3% Petit Verdot and 1% Cabernet Franc. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2025...Lots that don’t make it into the Estate Cuvee are considered for Endre. With the 2010 vintage, Kapcsandy is introducing a new Proprietary Blend. 2012 Rivers-Marie "Summa Old Vines" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2012 Rivers-Marie "Summa Old Vines" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (93VN, 90ST). Vinous: "Sweet tobacco, sage, rosemary and dried cherries all waft from the glass in the 2012 Pinot Noir Summa Old Vines. The Summa Old Vines is lifted, intensely aromatic and precise, but also a bit diffuse and ethereal. Orange peel, star anise and mint all add an element of exoticism. Here, too, the savory notes suggest whole clusters, but the fruit was totally destemmed. In 2012, this fruit was brought in on October 15, exceedingly late for Pinot, even on the coast. The 100% new barrels are beautifully integrated throughout. (AG)" (01/2014)

Bid on this bottle of 2008 Domaine Marquis d'Angerville Volnay 1er Cru "Clos des Ducs" (94BH, 93RP, 93ST, 92WS). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A superbly fresh and beautifully layered nose of cool red berry fruit, floral notes and wet stone, the latter of which is present in abundance on the rich yet beautifully detailed middle weight flavors brimming with minerality and energy, all wrapped in a focused, linear and precise finish of huge length, which remains at present youthfully austere. A classic Ducster that will require 10 to 12 years to be at its peak and readers should note that unlike some '08s, this will not be especially approachable young." (04/2015)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2010 Robert Mondavi "Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (96VN, 95RP, 93ST, 93WS, 90WE). Vinous: "The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve boasts stunning depth, power and richness. Exotic, powerful and structured, the 2010 emerges from the glass with masses of dark fruit, smoke, licorice, menthol, plums and cloves. Today, the 2010 Reserve is naturally quite primary, but all the ingredients are there for it to develop into a spectacular wine. Readers will need to give the 2010 a few years to soften, as the tannins are a bit imposing at this stage, despite the wine's considerable appeal today. An exotic melange of blackberries, blueberries, menthol, tar and licorice round out the sumptuous finish. What a gorgeous wine this is. (Antonio Galloni)" (11/2013)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1998 Maya (500 cases from a blend of 45% Cabernet Franc and 55% Cabernet Sauvignon) is an amazing effort, possessing multiple layers of fruit, sweet tannin, and no herbaceousness, astringency, or thinness. This is an amazing tour de force in winemaking for the vintage. It is loaded, with impeccable balance. Anticipated maturity: now-2020. As I indicated in my December, 2000 report, Dalla Valle's 1998s are candidates for wines of the vintage. (RP)" (08/2002)
