2012 Kosta Browne Russian River Valley Pinot Noir
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2012 Kosta Browne Russian River Valley Pinot Noir (93RP, 92VN, 92WS, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The straight 2012 Pinot Noir Russian River Valley is a gorgeous Pinot. Subtle and nuanced, yet no lightweight, it offers layers of mulled red and black fruits, cinnamon, loamy earth and dried flowers on the nose. Every bit as good on the palate, with a medium to full-bodied, supple and layered profile, it has excellent mid-palate depth, a fabulous texture and a clean finish. It's already hard to resist, but it will evolve nicely through 2022.This was another stacked lineup by the team of Dan Kosta and Michael Browne. All of these wines showed the more approachable style of the 2012 vintage, and had seamless, elegant characters. They're beautiful now, but I suspect they will evolve nicely given their overall balance. (JD)" (10/2014)

2007 Saxum "James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend
Bid on this bottle of 2007 Saxum "James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (100RP, 98WS, 97ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Utter perfection, and one of the most profound Rhone Ranger wines I have ever tasted... As with many prodigious wines, the extraordinary freshness, purity, equilibrium, and singularity of this effort is breathtaking. Its dense purple color is accompanied by an extraordinary, incredibly pure, all enveloping, intense, sweet nose of black raspberries, kirsch, spring flowers, spice box, and pepper. Full-bodied with not a hard edge to be found, it is stunningly concentrated with unreal purity, a voluptuous texture, and remarkable freshness for a wine of such power, depth, and concentration. Of the 2002 Sine Qua Non "Mr. K The Straw Man" Edna Valley Semillon (375ml),Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "The virtually perfect 2002 Mr. K. The Straw Man boasts astounding statistics. Aged 30 months in barrel, with only 7.2% alcohol, it carries 482 grams per liter of residual sugar (half the wine), and 7.8 grams per liter of acidity. It is simply off the charts. Sexy, eye-popping, palate-staining stuff, it is like liquefied honey with extraordinary complexity, aromatics yet freshness and delineation. I simply do not understand how this wine was made given the technical numbers and its amazing sugar. It is neither heavy nor cloying, and is a remarkable tour de force created by t

Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 2001 Louis Carillon Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru "Referts" (93BH, (91-93ST), (90-92RP)). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Cool, steely aromas of spring flowers, lime, apricot and nut oil. Fatter and more enveloping than usual for this cru, perhaps because it a bit less minerally in 2001. But the intense spice and citrus flavors are rather unforthcoming today despite the harmonious acidity. A chewy, dense wine that still rather folded in on itself. (ST)" (09/2002)

Best from 2014 through 2022. (BS)" (12/2012)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2011 Peter Michael "Le Moulin Rouge" Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir (94ST, (90-92VN), 91WS, 90RP). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Deep ruby. Sexy aromas of black raspberry, cherry-cola, star anise and vanilla, with a smoky nuance coming up with air. Juicy and expansive, with impressive clarity and power to its dark berry and floral pastille flavors. Finishes with excellent floral lift and striking persistence. This pinot, which was made from fruit that was sorted three times according to Morlet, offers a very suave blend of richness and vivacity." (05/2013)

Mineral-accented red berry and cherry aromas are complemented by hints of fresh rose and anise. Focused and energetic on entry, then deeper in the middle, offering spicy redcurrant and bitter cherry flavors and showing excellent mineral spine. Finishes with impressive clarity and cut and lingering smoky mineral and floral notes. (ST)" (06/2013)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2009 Marcassin "Marcassin Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay (98RP, 97WS, 90VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Light gold in color, with an extraordinary nose of poached pears, citrus honey and a touch of orange rind, the 2009 Chardonnay Marcassin Vineyard has beautiful fruit, a full-bodied mouthfeel, penetrating acids and an underlying minerality and richness. The finish goes on for a good 40-45 seconds. This is sensational Chardonnay and very much in keeping with this vineyard. Drink now-2020. (RP)" (08/2015)

Lemon, spices and smoky minerality on the nose. Silky on entry, then expands to fill the mouth with rich yet brisk flavors of lemon, dusty stone and vanillin oak. Good acidity gives the wine excellent cut but there's nothing austere about this very nicely balanced premier cru. The captivating rising finish shows a lightly smoky quality and noteworthy finesse." Like all of Christophe’s wines, it will benefit from short-term cellaring. (JD)" (06/2016)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2000 Canon-La-Gaffelière, St-Emilion (94RP, 93ST, 93WE, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Performing as I expected, but still several years away from full maturity, this extraordinarily flamboyant, full-bodied, opulent, sexy St. Emilion stood out for its backward structure and youthful personality. A dark plum/garnet hue is followed by a superb bouquet of roasted coffee, kirsch, blackberries, licorice, herbs, and forest floor. Full-bodied, dense, rich, and pure, it is a total hedonistic as well as intellectual turn-on. Enjoy it over the next decade. (RP)" (06/2010)

1988 Auguste Clape Cornas
Bid on this bottle of 1988 Auguste Clape Cornas. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1988 Cornas is a more tender style of Cornas than I am used to from Clape; it is not as concentrated as the 1989. It also comes across as lighter, softer, and not nearly as rich and full as most of this estate's wines tend to be. It is drinking surprisingly well at the moment. While some may applaud both the 1989's and 1988's lack of the forbiddingly raw, hard tannin that the savage wines of Cornas can possess, it is those characteristics that I feel make Cornas so distinctive, and repay those who cellar it for 10 or more years. 1977 Penfolds "Grange" Hermitage (Shiraz) South Australia
Bid on this bottle of 1977 Penfolds "Grange" Hermitage (Shiraz) South Australia (93RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This is considered a good rather than outstanding Grange, but I have consistently found this wine to be superb. A blend of 91% and 9% Cabernet Sauvignon from a relatively cool growing year, this wine has full body and a gorgeously complex nose of coffee, creme de cassis, caramel, leather, and a subtle hint of pepper and eucalyptus. The wine is very rich, still somewhat unevolved, with more new oak showing through than most vintages of Grange. The wine still has a dense ruby/purple color and seems to need at least another 3-4 years to reach full maturity, with a very sweet, chewy style but exceptional balance. (RP)" (01/2002)

1988 Margaux, Margaux
Bid on this bottle of 1988 Margaux, Margaux (95WS, 93JS). Wine Spectator: "This has both sinew and flesh, with taut dried red currant, blackberry and plum skin notes that are forced to expand outward as the core of black tea, charcoal, plum paste and dark humus fills in quickly behind them. The charcoal-tinged grip carries the finish, with more bass than treble at first, but there's perfume here as well. Seriously long and the most overlooked of the truly great vintages here. Bid on this magnum lot of 2005 Bond "Pluribus" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (1.5L) (98RP, 94VN, 92WS, 91WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon Pluribus is from a relatively high-elevation vineyard on the steep slopes of Spring Mountain and planted in the white Tufa volcanic bedrock of that area. This is the most northern vineyard of the Bond Estates, and this wine was just incredible. By far, the biggest, most backward and massive of all the 2005s, this wine behaved as if it were three or four years old, rather than ten. Dense purple, it offers notes of blueberry liqueur, St.-Estèphe-like earth, licorice and a gravelly note with incredible depth, lots of blackberries, and a finish that goes on for 45+ seconds ... 98+ (RP)" (06/2015)

Defines the Heidi Barrett style of big, ripe, exuberant fruit and a classic structure, enhanced in this case by the firm tannins and fine acids of Atlas Peak. Explosive in blackberry and cherry pie filling and cassis flavors, with a distinct mineral tang that must come from the volcanic soils. Contains 2% Petit Verdot. 1999 Palmer, Margaux
Bid on this bottle of 1999 Palmer, Margaux (95RP, 92ST, 91JS, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1999 is the greatest Palmer made since 1961, 1966, 1970, 1983, and 1989. It is one of the superstars of the vintage. The wine is a blend of 48% Cabernet Sauvignon, 46% Merlot, and 6% Petit Verdot. It boasts a staggering bouquet of violets and other spring flowers intermixed with licorice, black currants, and subtle wood. Only 50% of the production made it into the grand vin. This is a multidimensional, compelling effort with both power and elegance, it offers sweet tannin along with flavors that caress the palate, and a 45-second finish. This is terrific stuff! Spring flowers, blackberry, cassis, licorice, violets and white pepper are all present here, and it’s a massive wine on the palate, with big fruit, a voluptuous texture and a great finish. Made in the Bordeaux style, with 72% Cabernet Sauvignon, 26% Merlot and 2% Cabernet Franc, it’s got ripe black-currant and plum aromas and flavors and a solid dose of toasty new French oak. Very balanced and complex. The tannins are soft enough to drink it tonight, but it can also age, if you want. " (12/2000)

2007 Dominus Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this bottle of 2007 Dominus Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (98RP, 97WE, 96W&S, 94ST, 93JS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Dominus, the quintessential model of haute couture, is pure elegance exhibiting a seamless integration of wood, tannin, alcohol and acidity as well as a complex bouquet of cedar, new saddle leather, sweet kirsch, black currant and plum fruit and a notion of licorice. Both the 2007 and 2008 Dominus should drink well for 25-30 years. (RP)" (12/2010)

1991 Rene Rostaing "La Landonne" Côte-Rôtie
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1991 Rene Rostaing "La Landonne" Côte-Rôtie (94RP, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Perhaps the best of the 1991s from Rene Rostaing is the 1991 Cote Rotie La Landonne. As you might anticipate, there is considerable rivalry between Rostaing and his neighbor, Guigal. Rostaing is quick to assert that his La Landonne vines are considerably older than those of Guigal. This black-colored wine offers up an exquisite perfume of licorice, violets, black-berries, and toast, staggering concentration, smooth tannin, and low acidity. It is a gorgeous, exceptionally opulent, multidimensional wine with layers of flavor. It should drink well for 10-15 years. Rene Rostaing's 1991s offer persuasive evidence of just how impressive this vintage is in Cote Rotie." (12/1996)

2005 Jacky Truchot Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru "Les Sentiers"
Bid on this bottle of 2005 Jacky Truchot Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru "Les Sentiers" (91RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Truchot’s 2005 Chambolle-Musigny Les Sentiers smells of fresh plum, black cherry, high-toned cherry distillate, almond extract, pungent ginger, cardamom, and raw meat. In the mouth, an infectious juiciness of fresh fruit combines with subtle creaminess of texture. Notes of tar and brown spices accent the fresh black fruits, chalky minerality and persistently bloody meat in the finish. This is classic Truchot: elegance, refinement, lift and satiny texture are allied to extract and subtle yet resilient tannins. It is bound to age longer and reveal more facets than anyone not already familiar with this estate would expect. (DS)" (04/2007)

Tremendous intensity, viscous, ripe, and layered with honeyed, apricot-flavored fruit, this unctuous wine is not tiring or heavy to drink, but lively and effusively fruity. (RP)" (01/1998)

2012 Shafer "Hillside Select" Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2012 Shafer "Hillside Select" Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon (100RP, 98JS, 97CG, 96WS, 95VN, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: " ... It elicits more than a few “wows” when you smell the incredible notes of charcoal, graphite and subtle toast, buttressed and dominated by blackcurrant, blackberry and blueberry fruit. The purity of these fruits, the multidimensional mouthfeel, the seamless integration of acid, alcohol, tannin and wood are all flawless. The 2012 signature adds an extravagant opulence and density that is just mind-boggling, and the wine is a total hedonistic and intellectual turn-on already, although it has 30+ years of life ahead of it. Bid on this bottle of 2004 Haut-Brion, Pessac-Léognan (96W&S, 96WE, 95WS, 92RP, 91ST). Wine Enthusiast: "Of the pair of châteaux, La Mission Haut-Brion and Haut-Brion (both owned by the Dillon banking family) that face each other across the crowded streets of Pessac, Haut-Brion is the one with the structure, the darkness, the brooding character. This is so true of 2004, with its hugely firm structure underlying the initial supple fruit. At the end, the acidity is an enticing surprise, lifting the aftertaste." (06/2007)

Bid on this magnum lot of 2010 Au Sommet Atlas Peak Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (OWC - 93RP, 92WS) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The inky blue/purple-colored 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Au Sommet is filled with blackberry, blueberry, graphite and floral notes. Composed of 97.3% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2.7% Petit Verdot, it reveals a pleasant underlying earthy/terroir component, but the fruit dominates and this medium to full-bodied 2010 is rich, textured, and impressively endowed. Possessing the best of both worlds – the finesse, terroir and earthiness of France, and the sumptuous fruit, texture and lusciousness of Napa. (RP)" (10/2013)

1989 Pichon-Baron, Pauillac
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1989 Pichon-Baron, Pauillac (95RP, 95WS, 94ST). Wine Spectator: "What a nose here, from crushed mulberry to tanned leather to tar. Full-bodied, with big, velvety tannins that are soft and caressing, like cashmere. This is so tight and powerful still; it seems to be holding back. Be patient, because it will open with another five or six years of bottle age. Hard to wait. So why do it? (JS, Web-2010)"

1988 Raymond Lafon, Sauternes
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 1988 Raymond Lafon, Sauternes (92RP, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This small estate continues to turn out remarkably rich, unctuously-textured, thick, powerful wines that brilliantly balance power and intensity with elegance and finesse. The 1988 offers the most refined aromatic profile and the tightest structure. All three wines share opulent, full-bodied, exotic, lavishly rich personalities, moderate sweetness (the 1990 is the sweetest), and huge quantities of extract, glycerin, and alcohol in their finishes. All three wines are also extremely young and unevolved. They can be drunk now, but purchasers are advised to wait until the turn of the century and enjoy them over the following two decades. 1983 Taylor Vintage Port
Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 1983 Taylor Vintage Port (94RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1983 Vintage Port is up for a status check. It is in a pretty good place now. It's been as hard as nails over the years. Not anymore. With softened tannins and a medley of old Port flavors on the finish, this is both sensual and delicious, with velvety texture and an irresistible finish. It doesn't have that hard edge any more, but it does wake up and become more intense with some air. At least from this bottle, it comes together rather promptly and drinks well. It's lacking just a bit of firmness, but its complex flavors and general demeanor make it rather sexy. The lingering finish seals the deal. It can keep going for quite some time--it is Port and they tend not to drop off the table if well stored--but this is a nice time to dive in. (MS)" (12/2015)

1995 Tertre Roteboeuf, St-Emilion
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1995 Tertre Roteboeuf, St-Emilion (94RP, 94ST, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A very powerful, concentrated Tertre Roteboeuf, but completely closed at present, this wine has a deep ruby/purple color, and a sweet nose of black cherry and plum jam intermixed with hints of vanilla, chocolate, and espresso roast. The wine is medium to full-bodied, quite tannic, powerful, and one of the more backward wines I have tasted at this estate. It requires much more cellaring than I originally anticipated. 94+ (RP)" (01/2003)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 Belair-Monange, St-Emilion (96RP, 95JS, 95WE, 94WS, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "An absolutely magnificent wine from Christian Moueix and his son Edouard, this wine is right up there with their 2009 and may eclipse it in terms of its potential longevity. Dense purple, with a near-liqueur of crushed rocks and chalk intermixed with blueberry, black raspberry and cassis, this wine is very full-bodied for a Belair, with ethereal complexity and impressive texture and length ... 2013 Scarecrow Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (OWC)
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2013 Scarecrow Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (OWC - 100RP, (95-97VN), 95WS) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The prodigious 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, including fruit from some of the oldest Cabernet vines still in existence in Napa. This full-bodied classic displays notes of forest floor, earth, crème de cassis, blackberry liqueur, licorice and some pen ink. It is dense, full-bodied, prodigiously rich, massive in intensity, yet relatively light on its feet. This great ballerina of a wine has extraordinary ripeness but pulls back from the edge before going over the top. There are 1,000 cases of this classic, which should age effortlessly for 30+ years. Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 2003 Spottswoode "Family Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (97RP, 94W&S, 92ST, 92WE, 92WS, 91CG). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2003’s sensational aromatics offer up scents of blueberries, black raspberries, currants, subtle wood spice and spring flower garden. Rich and full-bodied with exquisite purity, an ethereal elegance yet serious substance, texture and length, this is an example of great winemaking and viticulture. Of course, it doesn’t hurt to have a first growth-like terroir. Still in its pre-adolescence, this beauty should age effortlessly for another quarter of a century. Bravo! 97+ (RP)" (06/2013)
