2007 Alban "Seymour's Vineyard" Edna Valley Syrah
Bid on this bottle of 2007 Alban "Seymour's Vineyard" Edna Valley Syrah (94RP, 94WS). Wine Spectator: "Dense and chewy from the start, this is rustic, but pleasantly so. A cement mixer of crushed rock, extracted dark berry, espresso, road tar and melted black licorice. A striking, muscle-bound effort that's fun to wrestle with. Drink now through 2024." (12/2012)

2012 Caymus "40th Anniversary" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1L)
Bid on this bottle of 2012 Caymus "40th Anniversary" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1L) (96RP, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I am old enough to remember Chuck Wagner and his father, who I first met at Caymus in the late seventies. This is clearly one of Napa Valley’s iconic wineries, as well as one that, amazingly, never went through a bad patch. Obviously, no matter which generation is in the driver’s seat (or should I say tractor’s seat), Caymus Vineyard knows how to deliver flavor and deliciousness. (RP)" (10/2014)

Of the 2005 Ramey "Pedregal" Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "Readers looking for a Screaming Eagle look-alike should check out David Ramey’s 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon Pedregal (85% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Petit Verdot), a wine that has put on amazing richness and intensity since last year. Beautifully pure creme de cassis fruit interwoven with notions of spring flowers, espresso roast, and truffles jump from the glass of this wine. Wonderfully sweet, expansive fruit flavors, a massive, full-bodied palate, and superb elegance as well as purity suggest this stunner should drink well for 20-25+ years. (RP)" (12/2007)

Of the 2006 Peter Michael "Belle Côte" Knights Valley Chardonnay,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "This is a large-scaled wine, but with flamboyant marmalade, white currant, honeysuckle, and tropical fruit notes, less minerality than La Carriere, but beautiful acidity and a stony, steely personality not dissimilar to a grand cru in Burgundy such as Corton-Charlemagne. (RP)" (12/2008)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2001 Domaine Sylvain Cathiard Nuits-St.-Georges 1er Cru "Murgers" ((89-92BH)). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A completely different aromatic profile as this is distinctly red fruit in character compared to the black fruits of the Vosne crus. Denser still with excellent volume and this is tight, structured and very long with a masculine though by no means hard character. A serious wine that finishes with notes of damp earth." 2007 Clarendon Hills "Astralis" Syrah McLaren Vale South Australia
Bid on this bottle of 2007 Clarendon Hills "Astralis" Syrah McLaren Vale South Australia (97RP, 96JH, 95ST, 95WE, 95WS, 92W&S). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Clarendon Hills’ flagship is the 2007 Syrah Astralis. It is an exemplar of what old vines and a great terroir can achieve in a less than great vintage. Aromas of pain grille, pencil lead, tar, underbrush, meat, licorice, and blackberry lead to a burly, masculine version of Astralis. It has tremendous grip, plenty of fine-grained tannin, layers of savory fruit, and 10-12 years of aging potential. Patience will be required. (JM)" (12/2009)

2015 Bevan "Dry Stack Vineyard" Bennett Valley Sauvignon Blanc
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2015 Bevan "Dry Stack Vineyard" Bennett Valley Sauvignon Blanc (96RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I have said before that Bevan’s Sauvignon Blanc from the Dry Stack Vineyard in Bennett Valley is one of California’s finest examples of this Italian clone of Sauvignon Blanc that is planted in these gravelly, loamy soils. His 2015 Sauvignon Blanc Dry Stack Vyd may be his best to date, simply because yields were lower, and there is even more concentration. This wine is aged half and half in stainless steel and the rest in François Frères Burgundy barrels. It is 100% Sauvignon Blanc, and the wine has a spectacular bouquet of caramelized citrus, honeysuckle, orange blossom and brioche. It is amazingly rich and dense, with the texture of a great grand cru white Burgundy or top California Chardonnay ... (RP)" (02/2016)

2007 Pian dell'Orino "Bassolino" Brunello di Montalcino
Bid on this bottle of 2007 Pian dell'Orino "Bassolino" Brunello di Montalcino (93RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The estate’s 2007 Brunello di Montalcino Bassolino di Sopra 1500 emerges from the glass with endless layers of fruit. A pure, voluptuous 2007, the Bassolino di Sopra 1500 is rich, round and seamless. Deeply spiced notes develop in the glass as the wine shows off its striking personality. I am not a huge fan of extended time in oak for wines of such purity, but the 2007 handles its 48 months in barrel quite nicely, although it is naturally shaped by its aging regime, especially from a textural perspective. The 2007 is made exclusively from the estate’s holdings in Pian Bossolino, but that site has also been trademarked by another winery, hence the slight name variation here. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2027. " (06/2013)

Bid on this bottle of 2009 Penfolds "Bin 169" Cabernet Sauvignon Coonawarra South Australia (93JH, 91RP, 91WS). James Halliday: "Deeply coloured and dark and brooding in nature, with mulberry and cassis fruit, charry oak and cedar on display; the palate is densely packed with tannins and opulent fruit, with the brooding nature of the vintage remaining on the finish; this wine will always be big boned and dark, a direct contrast to the '10." Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2004 Domaine William Fèvre Chablis 1er Cru "Fourchaume-Vignoble de Vaulorent" (94RP, 93BH, 91ST, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Though they are all outstanding, the star among Domaine William Fevre’s premier crus is the exceptional 2004 Chablis Fourchaume Vignoble de Vaulorent. Its profound aromatics reveal notes of apples dusted with minerals and chalk. Broad, ample, rich, and suave, this wine also boasts superb precision, freshness, and focus. Jam-packed with stone flavors amid hints of ripe pears, this effort’s flavor profile is also stupendously long. (PR)" (06/2006)

2005 Dominique Laurent Gevrey-Chambertin Cuvée Tradition
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2005 Dominique Laurent Gevrey-Chambertin Cuvée Tradition. Stephen Tanzer writes: "Laurent has built his negociant business on buying essentially two types of wines: those that get what he calls a naif vinification, featuring gentle extraction and minimal intervention (Laurent often calls these "vins de paysanne") and those made entirely from whole clusters (the vendange entier method). Wherever possible he works with ancient vines, often true pinot fin. Because his elevage helps to preserve the genetic identity and the energy of the wines he selects, he tends to outperform in very ripe years. Not surprisingly, his 2005 collection offers plenty of thrills." (03/2007)

Of the 2013 Del Dotto Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain displays plenty of mulberry, graphite, crushed rock and flowers, a dense purple color to the rim, full-bodied richness and stunning intensity. It can be drunk over the next 10-15 years. (RP)" (10/2015)

2004 Pahlmeyer Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this bottle of 2004 Pahlmeyer Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (98RP, 92ST, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Composed of 79% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc, 4% Petit Verdot and 1% Malbec, the saturated purple-colored 2004 Proprietary Red Wine is a wonderful monster in the making. It boasts a dense purple color as well as notes of beef blood, creme de cassis, licorice, incense and spring flowers. It looks more like a 2-year-old wine than one that has seen its tenth birthday. Mouth-coating, unctuously textured, corpulent but well-delineated, this is a spectacular Proprietary Red that is even greater than I remember it in its youth. Bravo to Jayson Pahlmeyer (I believe his winemaker at the time was Erin Green) for this dynamic duo of 2004s. (RP)" (04/2014)

1990 Stony Hill Napa Valley Chardonnay
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 1990 Stony Hill Napa Valley Chardonnay. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This renowned Chardonnay producer has fashioned a nearly impenetrable, backward style of Chardonnay, with high acidity, and considerable weight and richness on the palate. The subtle aromas of lemon butter, apples, minerals, and oak make for an elegant first impression. Beautifully pure and tightly strung, but rich and medium to full-bodied, this wine will benefit from 1-2 years of cellaring...." (02/1996)

1986 Haut-Brion, Pessac-Léognan
Bid on this bottle of 1986 Haut-Brion, Pessac-Léognan (94RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The wine is still youthful, quite pure, medium to full-bodied, but somewhat elevated, austere tannins in the finish at age 16 are starting to make me think they will never become fully integrated. As always, making a judgment call on a wine destined to have a half-century of life is sometimes difficult, given the varying stages it goes through, but I wonder if this wine will turn out to be as profound as I once predicted. They are of very high quality and deserve readers' attention. Its expressive aromatic and flavor profiles engage the taster with dark berries, spices, and licorice. Medium-bodied, it is satin-textured, reveals copious ripe tannin, and sports a long, fruit-dominated finish. (PR)" (08/2005)

A wine of amazing purity and elegance, it reverberates on the palate revealing broad layers of floral dark fruit flavors. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Nuits Saint Georges 1er Cru Les Thorey comes from the domaine’s 0.73-hectare parcel. This vintage is 100% whole cluster and sees around 50% new oak. It has an earthy, mushroom and dried blood-scented bouquet that is very engaging and well-defined. The palate is firm and grippy on the entry. This is very concentrated with a fine bead of acidity, yet the grip is gentle and not imposing. The swagger demonstrated at this nascent stage suggests that this may evolve into one of Domaine de Montille’s finest 2012. (NM)" (12/2013)

Structured, firm and backward, yet with a rock-star mid-palate and finish, give it another 3-5 years and drink bottles through 2028. Located in the tiny village of Mauves, just south of Hermitage, lies one of the true bastilles of traditionally made wines, and there are few vinous experiences that surpass getting to taste through the different terroirs of Hermitage and Saint Joseph in Chave’s cellar... 95+ (JD)" (08/2014)

The buried supporting tannins are quite fine and I like the sense of energy on the impressively long finish. An unusually elegant Bonnes Mares. Drink: 2021+" (01/2012)

Bid on this bottle of 2003 E. Guigal "La Mouline" Côte-Rôtie (100RP, 99WS, (96-97ST), 96WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: " Always the most forward, the 2003 Cote Rotie La Mouline incorporates a whopping 11% Viognier and spent 48 months in new barrels. Heavenly stuff, with sweet cassis, kirsch, roasted meats and exotic spice and floral-driven aromas and flavors, it’s massive and voluptuous on the palate, with no hard edges, thrilling concentration and a finish to die for. It’s the texture that sets this cuvee apart, and it’s as good as it gets. I was able to taste the 1999 La Mouline just prior to this, and this 2003 is every bit as good, if not better. Still a baby, enjoy it anytime over the coming two decades. (JD)" (04/2014)

2011 Marcassin "Marcassin Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2011 Marcassin "Marcassin Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (92RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2011 Pinot Noir Marcassin Vineyard has sweet berry fruit, roasted herbs, incense, a touch of background wood spice and foresty notes all present in this medium-bodied, slightly lighter style of Pinot Noir from Marcassin. This was a challenging vintage, but the wines turned out outstanding, and very Burgundian. The alcohol is 13.9%, which is one of their lowest sugar levels. The wine presents a very attractive, moderately intense perfume, good acidity and excellent precision. (RP)" (08/2015)

Extraordinarily ripe, aromatic nose of dark berries, minerals, iron, tobacco and truffle. Superripe in the mouth; like an essence of red and black berries. Wonderfully concentrated for the vintage, and more typically Chambolle than the young 2000." (04/2002)

Of the 2014 Cayuse "Camaspelo" Walla Walla Valley Bordeaux Blend,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "Made from 79% Cabernet Sauvignon and 21% Merlot that’s aging in 30% new French oak puncheons, the 2014 Camaspelo offers lots of cherry pit, black and blue fruits, violets and spice characteristics in a full-bodied, silky, polished style. 2013 Realm "The Absurd" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this bottle of 2013 Realm "The Absurd" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (100RP, 96JS, 95VN, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Another perfect wine (but very limited in production at 200 cases) is the 2013 The Absurd, a blend of 17 components dominated by 83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Merlot and 6% Cabernet Franc. Winemaker Benoit Touquette told me that this wine is produced with no rules and no restrictions, and is considered their super-blend of the best they have in any given vintage. (I guess I would look stupid if I didn't give it 100 points, given the fact that two other Realm wines already hit that maximum score.) There is something different in this wine, with an opaque purple color for sure, but then there's the cassis, the blackberries, the roasted meats, some spicy pepper, and then an extravagantly rich, cascading palate that seems to be built like a skyscraper, but without one hard edge ... Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2010 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (98RP, 96ST, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Rich, backwards, structured and massively concentrated, the 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon comes mostly from the Champoux Vineyard (also from Galitzine, Klipsun, Palengat and Tapteil) and is comprised of 99% Cabernet Sauvignon and 1% Merlot that spent 22 months in all new French oak. Offering up plenty of creme de cassis, coffee bean, toasted spice, pencil shavings and violet-like qualities on the nose, it has palate staining levels of extract and tannin that come through on the mid-palate and finish. 2013 Hall "Exzellenz" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2013 Hall "Exzellenz" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (100RP, 94VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The last Hall wine I saw from bottle was the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Exzellenz. This hails from the foothills of Rutherford and refers to Kathryn Hall’s ambassadorship to Austria between 1997 and 2001. A prodigious wine with beautiful floral notes intermingled with blueberry, blackberry, black raspberry and graphite, the wine hits the palate with a full-bodied force, but nothing seems pushed, cloying or out of sync. Gorgeously pure blue and black fruits cascade over the palate, a full-bodied presentation with remarkable purity and complexity. The finish is a good 45-50 seconds, and while there is significant tannin, the extravagance of the fruit and glycerin generally conceal it. This is a remarkable, one-of-a-kind, world class Cabernet Sauvignon that should prove compelling for at least another 30-40+ years. While an old geezer like me could commit infanticid

2013 Buccella Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2013 Buccella Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (96RP, 95JS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "?This is a brilliantly packaged wine, but more importantly, what’s inside the bottle clearly matches the stylish design. A great vintage, the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon from Buccella, which is 93% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Malbec and Petit Verdot, is a stunner. Inky purple, the wine has a glorious nose of graphite and blueberry liqueur, blacker fruits and a touch of oak. Once it hits the palate this is a full-bodied wine with terrific purity, texture, a multidimensional mouthfeel and a long, long finish. Everything is in sync and perfectly aligned in this profound and spectacular 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon. Approachable now, it should continue to drink well for another 20 to 25+ years. (RP)" (12/2016)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2005 Larcis-Ducasse, St-Emilion (100RP, 94CG, 94ST, 94WS, 90W&S). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "With an unbelievable nose of licorice, tapenade, black cherry and blackcurrant liqueur, as well as full body, super-sweet tannin, and astonishing richness and length, this prodigious effort in 2005 announced the resurrection of this great terroir on the slopes near Château Pavie. Dark garnet/plum/purple, this is compelling stuff and drinkable already, but capable of lasting another 25-30 years. This beauty is not to be missed! (RP)" (06/2015)

The wine has an inky, opaque, plum/purple color and a stunningly rich nose of mulberries, bramble berries, blackberries, licorice and incense as well as touches of toast and graphite. Fabulously concentrated and full-bodied, with a multidimensional mouthfeel, this profound Pavie is in mid-adolescence. It should evolve and continue to drink well for at least another 30-40 years. Bid on this bottle of 2006 Sine Qua Non "A Shot in the Dark" Sta. Rita Hills Syrah (100RP, 98WS, 96ST, 95JS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A Shot in the Dark is composed of 96.5% Syrah and 3.5% Viognier from the 11 Confessions Vineyard in the cool Santa Rita Hills. Performing better from bottle than it did from barrel, this prodigious red exhibits incredibly velvety tannins, a seamless style, and no noticeable oak (which is remarkable given the fact it spent 32 months in barrel). Dense purple to the rim with an extraordinary perfume of blueberry pie, blackberries, soy, Asian spices, and hints of forest floor and charcoal, this is a complex, rich, seamless, well-balanced tour de force in winemaking. A full-bodied, exuberant, unabashedly California Syrah, it will offer stunning drinking over the next 10-15+ years. (RP)" (08/2010)

2005 Troplong Mondot, St-Emilion
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2005 Troplong Mondot, St-Emilion (100RP, 98VN, 96ST, 96WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2005 Troplong Mondot is a blend of 90% Merlot and the rest Cabernet Franc. It was emotional tasting this wine, thinking of the late Christine Valette, who made this compelling wine while battling with considerable courage against an insidious disease. It is a great effort and a superstar of the vintage. Dense purple, it offers notes of white chocolate, blackberry, cassis and licorice as well as a hint of truffle and some subtle background oak. Full-bodied, multi-layered, and spectacularly pure and rich, it is a tour de force, and a great tribute to an incredible woman. Remarkably youthful, this wine probably needs another 4-8 years of bottle age, and should keep for 20 or more years. Kudos to the late Christine Valette! (RP)" (06/2015)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2011 Horsepower "Sur Echalas Vineyard" Walla Walla Valley Grenache (OWC - 97RP, 95WE, 94WS) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2011 Grenache Sur Echalas Vineyard is a sensational blend of 100% Grenache that comes all from a vineyard located just to the west of Cayuse’s Armada Vineyard. Planted to 4,840 vines per acre, it’s farmed completely by horse. Showing every bit as well from bottle as from barrel, it offers up layers of pepper, smoked herbs, gunpowder and black fruits to go with a deep, structured style on the palate. Incredibly concentrated, especially in the vintage, it has a gracefully, balanced feel before firming up substantially on the finish. Give this beauty 2-3 years of bottle age and enjoy over the following decade. Unfortunately, there are only 131 cases of it to go around, so if you get the opportunity to grab some bottles, don’t miss it. (JD)" (06/2014)

Bid on this bottle of 2008 Domaine Roulot Meursault 1er Cru "Les Perrieres". (92WS, 92BH, 91ST). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "*Outstanding* There is still a trace of mild reduction that only marginally detracts from the appeal of the otherwise pretty aromas of acacia blossom, spiced pear and wet stone aromas. The delicious, gorgeously elegant and pure flavors possess a silky palate impression on the concentrated, explosive and stunningly long finish that seems to be composed of liquid rock. Of the 2009 Screaming Eagle "Second Flight" Napa Valley Proprietary Red,Vinous writes: "A beautiful expression of the year, the 2009 Second Flight emerges from the glass with intense layers of fruit in a style that very much recalls Screaming Eagle. Today, the 2009 comes across as a bit more structured and tannic than previous efforts. Some of that may be the vintage, but I imagine the addition of 9% Cabernet Franc over Merlot to the blend is also a contributing factor. Either way, the 2009 is a striking Second Flight endowed with serious depth, purity and finesse.
