2000 Peter Michael "Belle Cote" Knights Valley Chardonnay
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2000 Peter Michael "Belle Cote" Knights Valley Chardonnay (90ST). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Slightly deeper color than the Carriere; faintly hazy. Complex, precise, perfumed aromas of flower blossom, citrus peel, lichee, licorice and white pepper, with riper hints of mandarin orange and tangerine. A step up in concentration and flavor complexity from the Carriere, with more texture and extract. Still quite youthfully firm-edged on the finish. (ST)" (06/2002)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Corton displays a medium-to-dark ruby color, cassis and blackberry aromas as well as a thick, chewy, ripe, and medium-to-full-bodied personality. Sweet cherries, minerals, stones, and toasty oak flavors are ensconced in this wine's foursquare and tannic structure. (PR)" (10/1998)

Bid on this magnum lot of 2002 Domaine Faiveley Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru (1.5L) ((91-93BH)). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Always one of Faiveley's best wines and the '02 is no exception with an incredibly complex nose of damp earth, minerals, game and a slightly wild fruit component followed by wonderfully sappy, deep, broad, muscular flavors and knock-out purity of expression. I very much like this and the finish is long and strikingly persistent." (01/2004)

1996 Domaine Michel Mallard Corton-Le Rognet Grand Cru
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 1996 Domaine Michel Mallard Corton-Le Rognet Grand Cru. From a family with five generations of winegrowers and winemakers. This wine comes from one of the best pieces of Le Corton, Le Rognet, from vines 45-55 years old. The soil is predominantly limestone, resulting in a minerally character to balance the fruit. Mallard ages this wine for 17-18 months in 70% new casks. Tasting notes from the winery: "Corton Grand Cru Rognet is a wine with hints of violet, blueberries, blackberries and blackcurrant with liquorice and pepper spices. It possesses a velvety, complex structure and impressive persistency. Can be aged for a surprisingly long time."

1985 Maison Leroy Beaune
Bid on this bottle of 1985 Maison Leroy Beaune. Robert Parker wrote of Leroy: "Much has been written about the dynamic Madame Lalou Bize-Leroy. Some of it has been malicious and motivated strictly by insidious jealousy. From time to time I have complained of her pricing structure. Yet there should never be any criticism of her philosophy of what burgundy should be. Her wines are among the noblest and purest expressions of Pinot Noir in Burgundy. They are treated with the care of a pampered child, never filtered, and bottled barrel by barrel. Given the size of her wines and their power and structure, in a cool damp cellar they will last 20 to 25 years."

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2002 Domaine Maume Gevrey-Chambertin. There is ample length here and this is clearly a lovely villages. Note: Maume said that a bottle opened a week before had no reduction but I would suggest decanting this for 20 minutes or so first if you wish to try one young." (01/2005)

Wine Spectator: " *#5 on Top 100 of 2008, Highly Recommended* This is dense and chewy, but not tiring to drink, thanks to fresh acidity and an edgy, gravelly feel that drives the blackberry, currant and sweet spice notes. The long finish has great briary grip, with notes of garrigue and hot stone checking in. Best from 2010 through 2030. (JM)" (04/2008)

1994 Margaux, Margaux
Bid on this bottle of 1994 Margaux, Margaux (91RP, (90-91ST), 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This largely forgotten vintage seems to have turned the corner in the last year or two. Because of strict selections made at the top chateaux, the wines always had density, but the level of tannin was frequently too high, and the type of tannin was more green and astringent. Chateau Margaux's 1994 has always been one of the candidates for the 'wine of the vintage.' The wine still has a dense plum/purple color and a big, sweet nose of black fruits intermixed with licorice, camphor, vanilla, and a hint of flowers. The wine is dense and powerful, but the tannins have softened and do not seem as hard and intrusive as they did in the late nineties. This wine will last for decades and hopefully become even more seamless, although it is hard to believe all the tannin will gradually dissipate. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2025. Last tasted, 10/02. 91+ (RP)" (01/2003)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2012 Cayuse "Flying Pig" Walla Walla Valley Bordeaux Blend (OWC - 97RP, 94VN, 92WE, 90WS) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A blend of 48% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon and 12% Cabernet Franc, the 2012 Flying Pig is one of the Bordeaux blends of the vintage. Offering lots of cassis, graphite, chocolate, violet and floral notes, this beauty hits the palate with full-bodied richness, fine-grained tannin and stunning length. Like the majority of Christoph's 2012s, it's structured, tight and backward, and needs short-term cellaring. (JD)" (06/2015)

1976 Heitz Cellars "Martha's Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 1976 Heitz Cellars "Martha's Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (92RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the ripest, richest Martha's Vineyard Cabernets, this wine is aging marvelously as the tannin has become less noticeable and the fruit more dominant. It reveals a deep, saturated, plum/purple color, and a huge, tell-tale, mint, cassis, and vanillin bouquet with vague earth and licorice notes. Exceptionally full-bodied, powerful, and chewy, with sensational extract, this concentrated 1976 has begun to strut its stuff. (RP)" (08/1994)

1976 Joseph Phelps "Insignia" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this bottle of 1976 Joseph Phelps "Insignia" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (97VN, 96RP). Vinous: "Joseph Phelps's 1976 Insignia was off the charts. The 1976 was made predominantly (94%) from Eisele fruit, so this bottle provided a fascinating contrast with the other 1970s Eisele Cabernets earlier in the evening. I loved the wine's extraordinary bouquet and huge, explosive finish. It's hard to say how long the 1976 will last, but it showed no signs of fading anytime soon. The 1976 Insignia is an American icon. It was an unforgettable bottle worthy of closing this great night of food and wine. (AG)" (02/2012)

1994 Domaine Robert Arnoux Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru
Bid on this bottle of 1994 Domaine Robert Arnoux Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru. From the Burgundy Report: "Since 1858, five generations of Arnoux have been making wine in the Côte de Nuits. There is already a 6th generation waiting in the wings with the three sons of Pascal and Florence Lachaux. Pascal was working as a pharmacist specialising in homeopathy when he met Florence Arnoux, daughter of Robert; marriage and winemaking were soon to follow. In the mouth, the wine is opulent and succulent, with medium to full body, superb depth of flavor, brilliant focus and delineation, as well as a round, generously endowed, velvety-textured finish. Of the 2009 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon (98% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Merlot) is a ripe, flamboyant and brilliantly proportioned effort that oozes kirsch, licorice, lead pencil shavings and dried spice on the nose. Showing the perfume and headiness of the vintage, it nevertheless stays vibrant and lively on the palate while delivering layers of fruit and texture. 1993 Domaine Meo Camuzet Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru "Boudots"
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1993 Domaine Meo Camuzet Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru "Boudots". 90 points Robert Parker: The beautiful Nuits St.-Georges Les Boudots displays a dark ruby/purple color, full body, gobs of black fruits in the nose, intense flavor concentration, fine tannic structure, and excellent ripeness and length. It requires 2-4 years of cellaring and should drink well for 15 years. Meo-Camuzet's 1993s are unquestionably successes for the vintage. All the wines were bottled in April, 1995 without fining or filtration." (08/95) According to Clive Coates: "Very fine colour. Like his Corton this is a bit solid and tannic, but not as dense as it evolved. Full and austere but rather better mannered, better balanced and more classy. Yet, given the the vintage, not up to fine quality standard. Intense and with good grip but only very good indeed. " (The Vine, 08/01)

Explosively sweet and deep, with a spicy core of dark fruit flavors that fans out on the back half to saturate the palate. Finishes with strong but lush tannins and captivating violet lift. 2000 La Conseillante, Pomerol
Bid on this bottle of 2000 La Conseillante, Pomerol (96RP, 95WS, (90-93ST), 92JS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "La Conseillante made an excellent wine in 2001, another great one in 2005, and the estate hit home runs in both 2008 and, above all, in 2009. In fact, the latter vintage may well end up being the modern-day reference point for La Conseillante. Nevertheless, there’s a lot to be said for this 2000. An elegant, gentle style that is never a blockbuster, the 2000 La Conseillante has a deep ruby/plum/purple color and an unbelievably expressive nose of sweet kirsch liqueur intermixed with raspberries, incense, toast, and licorice. Full-bodied yet ethereal in the sense that it seems to combine power along with eloquence and delicacy, this is a beautifully pure wine that has just hit its plateau of full maturity, although ideally I think it would benefit strongly from another 4-5 years of bottle age and drink well for two to three decades. Bid on this magnum lot of 1997 Lail Vineyards "J Daniel Cuvee" Napa Valley Red Blend (1.5L) (93RP, 93WE, 90ST, 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1997 J. Daniel Cuvee is a blend of 64% Cabernet Sauvignon and 36% Merlot (1200 cases produced). The dense ruby/purple-colored 1997 boasts a lavishly pure nose of blackberries, cassis, minerals, licorice, chocolate, and toast. Bid on this magnum lot of 2005 Continuum Oakville Bordeaux Blend (1.5L) (96RP, 94W&S, 92WE, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This impressive project of Tim Mondavi, from high on Pritchard Hill, has produced a wine that represents an innovative blend of 58% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Cabernet Franc and 19% Petit Verdot with 14.5% alcohol. Mondavi’s Midas Touch and his vast experience have turned out a gorgeous 2005 Proprietary Red that is still youthful and tastes more like a two- or three-year-old wine than one that’s already a decade old. The dense ruby/purple color offers up notes of incense, floral notes, graphite and subtle background earth and flowers. There is ripe fruit, and when the wine hits the palate, it builds incrementally to a medium to full-bodied, pure, delicious and complex beverage. Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 1996 Pernin-Rossin Morey-St-Denis 1er Cru "Monts Luisants". Robert Parker discussed the producer and his innovative methods in Wine Advocate: "They are not typical Burgundies: They have a rather purple hue to their color; intense, almost Côte-Rôtie-like bouquets of sweet raspberry fruit; and voluptuous, expansive, lush flavors. My friend Michel Bettane, an extraordinarily gifted taster and a writer for the Revue du Vin de France, considers these wines top class. Certainly Monsieur Pernin's prefermentation cold maceration of the grapes is the new rage in Burgundy-it results in wines with an incredible up-front perfume and glorious fruitiness." (01/1990)

One of northern California’s watershed vintages for Bordeaux varietals, according to Allison Tauziet, this wine revealed great potential from the day the first grapes were crushed. It possesses a dense purple color, massive fruit, soft but high tannin, and a structural profile somewhat similar to the 2002. There appears to be more underlying minerality in the 2007, but the sweetness of the tannin, the enormous concentration of fruit (blackberry, blueberry, cherry) intermixed with graphite, chocolate, coffee and crushed rock characteristics is striking. This is a compelling, even prodigious wine that hits all the palate’s sweet spots, possesses phenomenal upside potential, and is a mod

Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A very subtle touch of SO2 only mildly detracts from the red and blue pinot fruit nuanced with subtle earth notes that merge into round, rich and nicely voluminous flavors that are quite forward and sport easy tannins. I like the freshness and there is just enough phenolic ripeness to avoid an herbal quality." (04/2008)

2003 Marcassin "Marcassin Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2003 Marcassin "Marcassin Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (99RP, 97ST, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I was somewhat surprised to see that the 2003 Estate Pinot Noir merited the same score that it has received every time I have tasted it. Although I have never been able to award it a perfect score, it is as close to perfect as one will find. A terrific success in a vintage that rarely produced Pinot Noir of this quality except at selected micro-climates on the Sonoma coast. A majestic bouquet of black currants, smoky barbecue meat, blueberries and black raspberries soars from the glass of this dark plum/purple-colored wine. Full-bodied and stunningly rich with 14.5-14.7% natural alcohol, it possesses a layer of concentration as well as a multileveled complexity that builds incrementally across the palate." (06/2014)

1994 Latour, Pauillac
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 1994 Latour, Pauillac (94RP, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This is an interesting as well as great vintage for Latour. As indicated in my barrel tasting report, Latour's 1994 possesses an atypically high percentage of Merlot (27%) in the final blend. Because of this, the wine appears to have a sweeter, more fleshy texture than is typical for a young Latour, but do not make the mistake of thinking this will be a commercially-styled, easy to drink wine. It exhibits an opaque dark ruby/purple color, and a backward, intense textbook nose of walnut and cassis scents complemented by smoky pain grille notes that build in the glass. This full-bodied, powerful, layered Latour reveals high tannin, but no bitterness or astringency. The superb purity, fabulous precision, and remarkable length should ensure 35-40 years of longevity. Chave Hermitage Rouge, and 1-bottle of 1987 J.L. Chave Hermitage Rouge. Of the 1985 J.L. Chave Hermitage Rouge,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "Chave produced the best red Hermitage of this vintage. Yet for Chave 1985 was not a year he cares to remember. Holding back the tears, he sadly states that his beloved mother, as well as his faithful sidekick, his dog, passed away that year. A sentimentalist, Chave is likely to put little of this vintage into the huge reservoir of old vintages that his family has faithfully cellared throughout this century. His 1985 avoided the oversupple style of some of the other reds of this vintage. The wine's deep ruby color exhibits some lightening at the edge. The intense fragrance of smoked meat, cassis, and Provencal olives is followed by a rich, full-bodied, velvety-textured wine th

Vinous: "The 2009 Proprietary Red Madrona Ranch opens with beguiling notes of smoke, tar, incense and graphite. Layers of fruit blossom in the glass as this fleshy seductive wine continues to open up. Rich and multi-dimensional, the 2009 impresses for the way it covers every inch of the palate. This is a drop-dead gorgeous wine from David Abreu and Brad Grimes. The 2009 is 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Cabernet Franc, 10% Petit Verdot and 5% Merlot. 98+ (AG)" (12/2012)

2010 Scarecrow Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2010 Scarecrow Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (98RP, 96VN, 94ST, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasting the three most recent vintages of the Scarecrow Cabernet Sauvignon was not only a privilege, but also an intellectual and hedonistic turn-on. The 2010 Scarecrow Cabernet Sauvignon (100% Cabernet Sauvignon) is a magnificent wine. Full-bodied and opulent with terrific purity, an intriguing, gravelly, wet stone-like minerality, and a sensational perfume, it has a spectacular finish that lasted over 45 seconds, offering up copious quantities of black currants, black cherries, cedar and vanillin. It is one of the superstars of the vintage. It is accessible now because of the sweetness of the tannins, but make no mistake, there is plenty of structure underlying the luxurious fruit levels. It should drink well for 30+ years. (RP)" (10/2013)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2013 Horsepower "The Tribe Vineyard" Walla Walla Valley Syrah (OWC - 96RP, 95WS) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "More straight and focused than the Sur Echalas Vineyard, the 2013 Syrah The Tribe Vineyard is slightly darker in color, with lots of gunpowder, blackberry, blueberry, smoked game and beef blood aromas and flavors. Full-bodied, yet elegant and silky, with a great finish, it's a gorgeously complex, balanced and complete Syrah that has lots of Rocks character, as well as 15 years of more of longevity. I have a slight preference for the Sur Echalas Vineyard Syrah, but these share lots of similarities and are both brilliant wines. (JD)" (06/2015)

2011 Hundred Acre "Ark Vineyard" Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon (OWC)
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2011 Hundred Acre "Ark Vineyard" Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon (OWC - 94RP) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Slightly better is the 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon Arc Vineyard from Howell Mountain. This wine offers even denser fruit, loads of graphite, mulberry, and blackberry fruit, an enticing minerality, a full-bodied mouthfeel, and again, nothing missing in it. It’s the whole package – rich, concentrated, fleshy and again, quite evolved and supple. Drink it over the next 20+ years. The genius of Jayson Woodbridge is not in dispute. A bigger than life character, he has a certain personal flamboyance and no-prisoners-taken persona, but what he and his team do in the vineyards and winery speaks for itself. These are remarkable wines, with his Cabernet Sauvignons some of the very finest in the world, and his Pinot Noir projects all high quality and pleasing to a multitude of diverse palates. Bid on this bottle of 2006 Sine Qua Non "In The Crosshairs" Sta. Rita Hills Grenache (100RP, 97WS, 96JS, 96ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "2006 In the Cross Hairs 11 Confessions Vineyard: This is Sine Qua Non’s extended barrel-aged Grenache (meaning that in most vintages since 2003, Krankl has produced two cuvees of Grenache, one aged 18-22 months before bottling, and the other one with extended barrel-aging, in this case 32 months in wood). A blend of 84% Grenache, 12% Syrah and 4% Viognier, all from the 11 Confessions Vineyard in the Santa Rita Hills, this is one of the most extraordinarily elegant Grenaches Krankl has produced. It is an intellectual wine, yet it doesn’t wimp out by any means. It is full-bodied and voluptuously textured, with notes of spice box, licorice and Provencal herbs, copious quantities of black currant and kirsch liqueur, stunning richness and a finish lasting close to a minute. This amazing effort confirms Krankl’s meticulous and nearly obsessively deta

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2013 Screaming Eagle Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (OWC - 100JS, 98VN, 97RP) in original wood. James Suckling: "Breathtaking aromas of blueberry, wet earth, black truffle, vine bark and lavender undertones. Full-bodied, yet tight and compressed with fabulous savory and dark fruit flavors. It lasts for minutes on the finish. The classicism in this wine is second to none. Incredible subtlety. Lovely austerity. Beauty in simplicity. Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2012 Caymus "40th Anniversary" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1L) (96RP, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I am old enough to remember Chuck Wagner and his father, who I first met at Caymus in the late seventies. This is clearly one of Napa Valley’s iconic wineries, as well as one that, amazingly, never went through a bad patch. Obviously, no matter which generation is in the driver’s seat (or should I say tractor’s seat), Caymus Vineyard knows how to deliver flavor and deliciousness. (RP)" (10/2014)

2003 Tenuta San Guido "Sassicaia" Bolgheri
Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 2003 Tenuta San Guido "Sassicaia" Bolgheri (96W&S, 93RP, 93ST, 92WS, 91WE). Wine & Spirits: "Great terroirs often prove themselves in the most extreme vintages, as Sassicaia has done in the violent heat of 2003. The vineyard produced a supple, subtle and elegant wine. To describe the fruit character one might resort to analogies with black currant and smoky black tea, but it's more a textural experience for now, a mass of pleasure, hard to grasp. Its oak treatment delivers the kind of heady richness found in young Latour; its soil character provides a completely different context, though no less grand. Probably best starting at ten to fifteen years of age, this is balanced to develop for years after that." (04/2007)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Eleven newly-farmed parcels from all over the commune inform Liger-Belair's 2006 Vosne-Romanee, which smells of smoked meat and game mingled, violets and red raspberry. Fresh and delicate in the mouth, with refined tannins though a hint of overtly resinous woodiness, it finishes with tender refreshment and lingering, village-typical floral and animal intrigue. Supple and full-bodied, with delirious levels of cedar and unctuously-textured fruit, this fleshy, gorgeously made Cabernet Sauvignon should drink well for 14-15 years ... (RP)" (12/1998)

Black pepper at the finish. Muscular yet toned. Very structured yet balanced. This needs a minimum of four to five years of aging.
