2004 Antinori "Pian delle Vigne-Vignaferrovia" Brunello di Montalcino Riserva (OWC)
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2004 Antinori "Pian delle Vigne-Vignaferrovia" Brunello di Montalcino Riserva (OWC - 93WE, 92VN) in original wood. Wine Enthusiast: "This excellent vineyard designate Brunello Riserva opens with a very elegant nose that includes elements of spice, toast, black fruit and dusty mineral. In fact, that pretty mineral note is what defines the wine and gives it harmony and personality. The wine is full and dense in the mouth with succulent tannins that need to soften with a little more cellar aging." (08/2010)

1989 Harlan Estate "Fourth Leaf" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this bottle of 1989 Harlan Estate "Fourth Leaf" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend. Bob Levy, Harlan Estate: "Modest quantities of wine were produced in 1987, 1988, and 1989 from grapes that represented the second, third, and fourth leaf of our estate vineyard. In each of those years a small number of barrels were produced in the hope of gaining a prescient glimpse into what the character of the land - never before cultivated - might have to offer. The wines were blended, bottled, and labeled with a special designation...1989 Fourth Leaf. A cooler vintage for Napa Valley. Flowering in late May, véraison mid-August. Our site enjoyed moderate, even summer temperatures. Harvest commenced September 5 and finished a mere 20 days later, drawn from just 24 producing acres. The blend that went to bottle was predominantly Merlot. A wine of medium-garnet color, with floral notes, tending to herbs and minerals. In the mouth it’s red currant, cherry compote, and spicy sage. Strikingly harmonious an

2011 Henri Boillot Meursault 1er Cru "Les Perrieres"
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2011 Henri Boillot Meursault 1er Cru "Les Perrieres" ((93-95RP)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Boillot’s 2011 Meursault Les Perrieres brings together the overt fruit of the Charmes and the equally intense minerality of the Genevrieres. The Charmes is quite big and broad-shouldered on the palate, with great power and intensity from start to finish. I especially like the way the aromas and flavors find an extra gear of focus on the pointed, nuanced finish. Anticipated maturity: 2014+. (AG)" (08/2012)

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2007 Billaud-Simon Chablis-Vaudésir Grand Cru ((93-95JS), 92RP, (89-91ST)). James Suckling: "A moderately riper yet extremely tight nose of iodine, salt and intense sea shore aromas complement to perfection the rich, full and powerful flavors that are a big step up in weight and power as they etch themselves into the palate on the broad-shouldered and muscular finish. This isn't a wine of finesse but as Chablis goes, this is a bruiser of superb intensity that embodies the phrase "jus de pierre" (rock juice)." (10/2009)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The compelling 2007 Pinot Noir Cuvee Catherine from the Occidental Station Vineyard on the Sonoma Coast is made entirely from the Calera clone. Deep ruby/purple with crushed raspberries, violets, Chinese black tea, and chalky, almost wet stone-like notes, the wine is rich, full-bodied, multi-dimensional, with superb depth and length, and a remarkable finish. Allen Meadows - Burghound: " *Outstanding* Here there is a completely different aromatic expression with its nose of white peach, spiced pear and vague suggestion of the exotic that merges into textured and highly seductive flavors that possess a satiny mouth feel on the pure and energetic finish. Bid on this bottle of 2009 Caymus "Special Selection" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (97WE, 93WS, 91CG). Wine Enthusiast: "So delicious now, you can hardly keep your hands off it. Blackberry tart, ripe blueberry, cassis, milk chocolate, licorice and sweet, smoky cedar flavors flood the mouth, dramatically huge and memorable, and lasting long into the finish. The tannins are obvious, but sweetly ripe and soft. A brilliant evocation of Napa Cabernet, despite a high production level of nearly 30,000 cases, which is about the same size as a Bordeaux first growth. Shows the class and potency this bottling has exhibited for many years, and believe it or not, the price is a is a relative bargain these days." (03/2012)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve (100%) was jointly made by Mark McNeilly and Ross Michel. Opaque purple in color, it surrenders a stunning bouquet of pain grille, pencil lead, licorice, espresso, Asian spices, truffle, and black currant. Full-bodied, dense, and plush, this impeccably balanced, powerful yet elegant offering will evolve for at least another 6-8 years and live to see its 25th birthday without difficulty. Bid on this magnum of 2001 Quilceda Creek Washington Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (97RP, 95ST, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A smidge more evolved than the 2002, the 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon is made from 97% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Cabernet Franc, mostly from the famed Champoux Vineyard in the Horse Heaven Hills AVA. It offers a rock star bouquet of blackberry liqueur, cassis, dried licorice, spice and roasted meats to go with a full-bodied, concentrated, yet incredibly polished and elegantly textured mouthfeel. 2010 Clos Rougeard Saumur-Champigny
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2010 Clos Rougeard Saumur-Champigny. This exceptional cult domaine run by brothers Nadi and Charlie Foucault was "found" by the late Louis Dressner, who had a knack for finding incredible producers. Small yields, barrel fermentation, slow and cold barrel aging and bottling without filtration combine to create these highly sought, allocated wines. Famed Chinon winemaker Charles Joguet was once quoted as saying, "There are two suns. One shines outside for everybody. The second shines in the Foucaults' cellar." 2010 Domaine Tollot-Beaut Chorey-lès-Beaune "Pièce du Chapitre"
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2010 Domaine Tollot-Beaut Chorey-lès-Beaune "Pièce du Chapitre". Allen Meadows of Burghound.com spoke with Nathalie Tollot about the 2010 vintage, who said it was an "excellent vintage that started poorly but ended well. We experienced a lousy flowering that seriously affected yields and then mediocre summer weather, but the good news is that the small crop is what enabled the fruit to attain such an ideal level of ripeness, which would have never happened otherwise. We were down between 25 and 30% depending on the vineyard in question. Sugars were strong at between 12.5 and 13.5% so almost nothing was chaptalized. The fruit was very clean and we had no issues with either fermentation. Overall, I love the vintage and prefer it to 2009 as I like the freshness and verve plus the wines have that clean and refreshing mouth feel."

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2006 Sloan Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (98RP, 97WS, 93JS, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2006 is performing even better from bottle than it did from barrel. Sloan and McClellan decided to bottle it later than usual, recognizing the rugged, tough tannins of the vintage could be sweetened up with longer barrel aging. Their strategy worked. The wine’s dense ruby/purple color is followed by notes of white chocolate, burning embers, creme de cassis, coffee, and scorched earth (think Haut-Brion or La Mission Haut-Brion). It possesses terrific structure, melted, well-integrated tannins, full body, and is already bursting with complexity. A great success, it is one of the vintage’s most thrilling wines. Drink it over the next 20-25 years. 98+ points. (RP)" (12/2009)

2002 Peter Michael "Les Pavots" Knights Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2002 Peter Michael "Les Pavots" Knights Valley Bordeaux Blend (99RP, 94ST, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A great, great success...the 2002 Les Pavots, which I loved from barrel as well as bottle, still has a good 20+ years of life ahead of it. At this point, it is tasting like a vigorous young adolescent in its evolutionary development... Inky black/purple, with a nose of incense, licorice, balsamic and Asian soy notes interwoven with blackberry, blueberry and hints of truffle and camphor, this wine is full-bodied, opulent and voluptuously textured, with sensational mid-palate, depth and richness. This is a killer Bordeaux-styled, ripe, exuberant, flamboyant red from Peter Michael that stands as one of the all-time great Les Pavots cuvees ever made. It ideally needs another 3-4 years of cellaring, although it is quite accessible and should keep for a minimum of 20 or more years. Bravo! (RP)" (06/2012)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1998 Lafite-Rothschild, Pauillac (98RP, 95WS, 94ST, 94W&S). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A blend of 81% Cabernet Sauvignon and 19% Merlot, this wine represents only 34% of Lafite's total harvest. In a less than perfect Medoc vintage, it has been spectacular since birth, putting on more weight and flesh over the last year. This opaque purple-colored 1998 is close to perfection. The spectacular nose of lead pencil, smoky, mineral, and black currant fruit soars majestically from the glass. The wine is elegant yet profoundly rich, revealing the essence of Lafite's character. The tannin is sweet, and the wine is spectacularly layered yet never heavy. The finish is sweet, super-rich, yet impeccably balanced and long (50+ seconds). Anticipated maturity: 2007-2035. It offers perfumed and spice-laced notes of white pepper, black raspberry, blackberry and ground herbs that flow to a full-bodied, elegant, nicely concentrated 2011 that has nicely integrated acidity, no hard edges and a terrific finish. It's certainly one of the fresher, more elegant Grenaches from Manfred, yet it still has rocking levels of fruit. Give it 2-3 years of cellaring and enjoy bottles over the following decade. 2011 Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey Montrachet Grand Cru
Bid on this bottle of 2011 Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey Montrachet Grand Cru ((93-96BH), 96VN). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This is even less expressive than the Chevalier though the underlying fruit is clearly fresh and ripe with mostly citrus and floral aromas. This is exceptionally well-concentrated with fine phenolic ripeness to the very broad-shouldered flavors that possess outstanding power if not quite the intensity or the minerality of the Chevalier. The explosive and bone dry finish compensates however by being even longer and more complex. Overall, the two wines are qualitative equals, at least at this very early juncture though their respective personalities are quite different. Once again, plenty of patience will be required." 1989 La Mission Haut-Brion, Pessac-Léognan
Bid on this bottle of 1989 La Mission Haut-Brion, Pessac-Léognan (100RP, 97ST, 96WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Both La Mission-Haut-Brion and Haut-Brion hit home runs in this vintage, which did not produce as many profound wines as the Bordeaux publicity machine suggested. 1989, the 200th anniversary of the French revolution, was an incredibly hot year (surpassed only by 1990 and 2003). Even from barrel the seamless 1989 La Mission revealed a special elixir aspect, tasting like it had been designed by Chanel. It still possesses a blue/purple color with only a hint of garnet creeping in, and the explosive aromatics offer up notes of licorice, creme de cassis, blueberry liqueur, smoky barbecue meats, truffles and graphite. If that’s not enough to get one salivating, the palate has never disappointed either. Full-bodied with extraordinary opulence as well as sweet, well-integrated, velvety tannins, this fresh, lively, blockbuster La Mission appears to be one of those rare wines tha

1989 Krug "Clos de Mesnil" Brut Blanc de Blancs Champagne (OWC)
Bid on this bottle of 1989 Krug "Clos de Mesnil" Brut Blanc de Blancs Champagne (OWC - 96RP, 94WS) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1989 Clos du Mesnil, from a warmer year, makes for a fascinating contrast to the cool inward 1988. It is a bigger, fatter wine that caresses the palate with layers of expansive, generous fruit. Sweet scents of caramel, hazelnuts and honey add complexity to the fruit. Despite its burnished, textured fruit, the 1989 remains light on its feet and superbly well-balanced but it is at, or close to, peak. To put things in perspective, the 1989 was harvested at the beginning of September -- the 7th and 8th to be exact -- while the 1988 was harvested between September 30th and October 2nd. By contrast there is a superb sense of energy and strikingly good detail to the penetratingly mineral-driven medium-bodied flavors that display an incredibly refined and ultra-pure mouth feel on the deeply complex and gorgeously persistent finish. 2012 Domaine Ramonet Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2012 Domaine Ramonet Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru (94BH, 92WS). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This has what all of the best 2012s have, which is to say a brilliant texture. To be clear, it's not about density per se though that is part of it. Rather it's the way that the density interacts with the acidity such that the flavors deliver both richness and delineation, provided of course that the proper serving temperature is respected because if not the same beguiling texture just becomes heavy. The nose offers up the telltale Ramonet hint of mint along with lovely floral and spice nuances to the mostly white orchard fruit and lemon skin scents that are trimmed in just enough wood to notice. There is fine concentration to the vibrant, cool and ultra-pure medium-bodied flavors that possess that beguiling texture, all wrapped in a palate coating and strikingly long finish. The other seriously impressive aspect to this wine is that even though it will cert

2012 Scarecrow Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2012 Scarecrow Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (98RP, (93-96ST), 96VN, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The classic 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon included fruit from the 2-acre, old vine parcel that is nearly 70 years of age. It boasts an opaque purple color as well as copious notes of spring flowers, blackberries, black raspberries and wet rocks. The wine’s gravelly minerality and spectacular opulence and density make it an instant classic. This massive, full-bodied 2012 should drink beautifully for 15-20+ years. It showed incredibly well last year, and it still reveals the potential to possibly merit a 3-digit score – it’s that special. (RP)" (10/2014)

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2011 Domaine Ramonet Bienvenues-Batard-Montrachet Grand Cru (94BH). Allen Meadows - Burghound: " In much the same fashion as the Champs Canet, generous but not dominating wood slowly fades into the background with air to allow the honeysuckle, citrus and ripe pear scents to take center stage. There is good volume and verve to the attractively, even seductively textured medium weight flavors that possess really lovely intensity along with fine acid support on the strikingly persistent finish. In the classic mode of a fine Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet this isn't particularly powerful or concentrated but rather it is a wine of harmony and grace albeit one with terrific potential." 1999 Domaine Armand Rousseau Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru
Bid on this bottle of 1999 Domaine Armand Rousseau Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru (97BH, (92-95RP), 94ST). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "The '99 Bèze just continues to get better and better with every passing year. A flat out gorgeously complex nose is comprised by spice, earth, minerality and still fresh red and black pinot fruit aromas. There is excellent richness to the intense and beautifully well-delineated medium-bodied flavors that are blessed with plenty of mouth coating dry extract that confers a seductive texture onto the strikingly persistent finish. Like the '99 Chambertin, while this could be drunk now I would strongly advise holding it for at least another 5 years and 10 would probably be better. Tasted many times and this only seems to go from strength to strength. In a word, exquisite. Tasted twice in 2016 with multiple and consistent notes since release. Try from 2014+." (06/2016)

The finish goes on for a good 40-45 seconds. This is sensational Chardonnay and very much in keeping with this vineyard. Drink now-2020. (RP)" (08/2015)

2011 Abreu "Madrona Ranch" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2011 Abreu "Madrona Ranch" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (95RP, 95VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "From the back hills of St. Helena, in the direction of Spring Mountain, comes Abreu’s first single-vineyard offering from vineyards planted in 1982, the Madrona Ranch. This cuvée usually contains at least 50% Cabernet Sauvignon and one of the highest percentages of Cabernet Franc, ranging from 33% to 45%. Tiny quantities of Petit Verdot and Merlot are also added, depending on how they fared in any given vintage. Last year I mentioned that the 2011 Proprietary Red Madrona Ranch was one of the rare Abreu wines that showed a little herbaceousness, but that has completely aged out. There is now a forest floor intensity to this full-bodied, opaque purple-colored 2011. After spending 26 months in 100% new oak, it exhibits great fruit, concentration and intensity. The fact that Abreu and Grimes do malolactic in their new oak barrels seems to integrate the wood better t

Of the 2013 Aubert "UV Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "The rich, prodigious, full-bodied 2013 Pinot Noir UV, made from the Calera and Vosne-Romanée clones, is a denser, richer wine offering abundant notes of blueberries, blackberries, forest floor and strong hints of Asian hoisin sauce, dark fruits and forest floor. There are approximately 1,000 cases of this sensational Pinot, which Mark Aubert decanted 12 hours in advance of my visit. There is not a trace of new oak in this wine, which spent 10 months in 100% new barrels. Like all the 2013 Pinot Noirs, it has a decade or more of aging potential." (12/2014)

1986 Gruaud Larose, St-Julien (3L)
Bid on this 3L-bottle of 1986 Gruaud Larose, St-Julien (3L) (96RP, 95VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Still tasting as if it were only 7-8 years of age, the dense, garnet/purple-colored 1986 Gruaud-Larose is evolving at a glacier pace. The wine still has mammoth structure, tremendous reserves of fruit and concentration, and a finish that lasts close to a minute. The wine is massive, very impressively constituted, with still some mouth-searing tannin to shed. Decanting of one to two hours in advance seems to soften it a bit, but this is a wine that seems to be almost immortal in terms of its longevity. It is a great Medoc classic, and certainly one of the most magnificent Gruaud-Larose ever made. Anticipated maturity: 2006-2035. Last tasted, 10/02. (RP)" (01/2003)

2002 Ridge Vineyards "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2002 Ridge Vineyards "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2002 Monte Bello Proprietary Red is a blend of 74% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Merlot and 8% Petit Verdot. It tastes as if it hasn’t changed since I first sampled it in late 2003 and then again in bottle two years later. The color is healthy ruby/purple, and the wine displays some dusty, oaky, vanillin notes that jump out of the glass along with a touch of white chocolate as well as red and black currants and hints of cedar and forest floor. Extremely young and full-bodied, with some wood char still present, it is unevolved and tastes like it could be a barrel sample, except that it has been in bottle for nearly ten years! This is a blockbuster Ridge Monte Bello that still needs a minimum of another 10 years of bottle-age and should keep for 50+ years. Only for the young and patient!
