2001 Fontanafredda Barolo Lazzarito
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2001 Fontanafredda Barolo Lazzarito (94W&S, 92AG, 92RP, 90WS). Wine & Spirits: "Lazzarito comes from La Delizia Vineyard located just outside the village of Serralunga. The nebbiolo vines here grow in sedimentary marine soils mixed with calcareous marl, and the resulting wines are textbook examples of the powerful structure associated with Barolo from Serralunga. This 2001 harnesses that power in a seamless way, the tannin providing a firm foundation for the interplay of punchy cherry flavors and fragrant porcini earthiness. After a day of air, the wine grows more expressive and becomes a precise, clean arc of flavor that lasts. Completely satisfying, this will only get better with time. Buy three bottles: two for the cellar and one for grilled rack of lamb." (12/2007)

2006 Finca Villacreces
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2006 Finca Villacreces (94RP, 90ST, 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The purple-colored 2006 Tinto is made up of 86% Tempranillo and the balance Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot aged for 16 months in French oak. The nose displays a brooding aromatic array of Asian spices, damp earth, mineral, blackberry, and violets. Dense and stacked on the palate, the wine is still a bit tightly wound and will benefit from 4-6 years of additional cellaring. Incipiently complex and exceptionally lengthy, it should be at its best from 2025 to 2031. " (04/2010)

2007 Fontodi "Vigna del Sorbo" Chianti Classico Riserva
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2007 Fontodi "Vigna del Sorbo" Chianti Classico Riserva (95JS, 95RP, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Chianti Classico Riserva Vigna del Sorbo is a wine that expresses a contemporary vision of what Chianti Classico can be but without ever fully abandoning its roots. The single-vineyard Vigna del Sorbo adds 10% Cabernet Sauvignon (planted on Sangiovese rootstocks) to the Sangiovese. Texturally it is classic Sangiovese with the fine, sweet tannins that are the hallmark of the vintage, while the Cabernet adds a sepia-hued dimension to the fruit and an element of greater richness in the body, but without dominating the aromatic or flavor profile. The radiant warmth of Panzano doesn’t hurt either, as the fruit is gloriously ripe and soft in this vintage. Everything is beautifully in balance, including the oak, which is barely perceptible. Today the Vigna del Sorbo is very young. It should start to be expressive around age ten and continue to drink

Drink now-2015." (10/10) According to Wine Spectator: "Up-front ripe plum, wild berry, mineral and dusty, cedary oak flavors have a trace of maturity. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2005 Glaetzer "Amon-Ra" Shiraz Barossa Valley South Australia (96RP, 95WE, 93JH, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Deep garnet in color, the 2005 Amon-Ra displays aromas of pure black currant cordial, dark chocolate, violets and toast with a hint of raw meat and touch of Indian spices. Full-bodied with a taut and muscular frame defined by firm grainy tannins, it is still very youthful and offers fresh, crisp acid that retains nice vibrancy through the long finish. 2007 Groth "Reserve" Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2007 Groth "Reserve" Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon (96WE, 94W&S, 94WS). Wine Enthusiast: "A huge Cabernet, in the best sense of the word. It wasn’t the easiest vintage, as 2007 was, but meticulous winemaking did the job, resulting in this amazingly rich, impressively ripe wine that’s drinkable now and will develop for many years. The fruits veer toward blackberries, cherries and cola, and the tannins are soft and refined. One hundred percent new French oak isn’t at all heavy, lending nuances of buttered toast and sweet wood tannins. Will easily age for 15 years." (02/2012)

2007 Saxum "Heart Stone Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2007 Saxum "Heart Stone Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (98RP, 97WS, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The late-released 2007 Heart Stone, which spent 28 months in a combination of barrels, demi-muids, and pungeons, turned out to be a final blend of 65% Syrah, 21% Grenache, and 14% Mourvedre. Like all of Justin Smith’s 2007s, it is a riveting, sensational wine that carries its heavy weight, profound richness, and intensity very gracefully. That is no doubt an effect of the limestone soils of this region. Blackberry and smoked meats as well as some garrigue and floral notes are followed by a dense, rich, pure, multi-layered wine that just screams for grilled poultry or meats! Bottled unfined and unfiltered...this is a fabulous wine that combines power and elegance. It should drink well for at least a decade or more. (RP)" (08/2010)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2006 Alban "Reva" Edna Valley Syrah (100RP, 97WS, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2006 Syrah Reva, coming from parcels of dark, volcanic soil, has off-the-chart richness and intensity. This thick, opaque-purple colored wine offers up notes of scorched earth, ground pepper, and blackberry liqueur intermixed with cassis, licorice, camphor, and tar. The wine is spectacular in every sense. Full-bodied and certainly not for wimps, this is a remarkably concentrated yet very nuanced and intense wine that should age for 20 more years." (08/2010)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2009 Quilceda Creek "Palengat Vineyard" Horse Heaven Hills Bordeaux Blend (97RP, 95WE, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Much more Cabernet Sauvignon-dominated, the 2009 Palengat (86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Cabernet Franc and 6% Merlot) shows the warmer vintage with ripe red and black fruit, licorice, roasted meat and hints of singed herbs on the nose. Fantastically polished on the palate, with silky tannin, full-bodied richness and a layered mouthfeel, it is a knockout effort that will have 15-20 years of prime drinking. Drink now-2029. Expressive game, bacon, and blueberry aromas are given uplift by the Viognier component. This savory, rich, lengthy Syrah can be enjoyed now and over the next 10-12 years... Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2011 Domaine Joseph Drouhin Griotte-Chambertin Grand Cru (92-94BH, 93JG, 92RP, 90-92ST). John Gilman - "The 2011 Griotte-Chambertin had not yet been racked at the time of my visit and was ready, showing just a bit of reduction on both the nose and palate. However, underneath is a lovely wine in the making, offering up scents of red and black cherries, plums, cocoa, a touch of nutskin, grilled meats and a bit of new oak. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and rock solid at the core, with fine, nascent complexity, fine-grained tannins and superb length and grip on the focused and youthful finish. Of the 2010 Montrose, St-Estèphe,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "This is considered to be among the greatest vintages ever made in Montrose, right up with the 1929, 1945, 1947, 1959, 1961, 1989, 1990 and 2009. Harvest was October 15 to 17. The wine has really come on since I last tasted it, and it needs at least another 10 years of cellaring. The blend was 53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 37% Merlot, 9% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot. The wine is opaque black/blue, with an incredible nose of blueberry and blackberry liqueur, with hints of incense, licorice, and acacia flowers. Tannins are incredibly sweet and very present. It seems to be cut from the same mold as years such as 1979 and 1985. There is a hint of graphite in the abundant fruit. 2007 Harlan Estate Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this bottle of 2007 Harlan Estate Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (100RP, 97JS, 97ST, 96WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The prodigious 2007 Harlan Estate reminds me of a hypothetical blend of the 2002 with a touch of the controversial 1997. Dense plum/purple-colored with sweet aromas of barbecue smoke, blueberries, blackberries, cassis, licorice, hot rocks and subtle oak, it is a splendidly opulent, pure wine with a skyscraper-like texture as well as stunningly deep fruit that expands gracefully across the palate. The finish lasts nearly a full minute. Because of its overwhelming richness and sweet tannins, this brilliant wine seems to be approachable now, but I suspect further nuances and complexity will emerge after 4-5 years in the bottle. This wine will still be going strong at age 25-30. Like the offerings from its sister estate, Bond, these Harlan Estate offerings are uncompromisingly brilliant examples of Napa viticulture and winemaking at its finest. Kudos to proprietor

An expansive fragrance of subtle barbecue smoke intermixed with graphite, blueberries, espresso, white chocolate and a liqueur of rocks soars from the glass of this full-bodied, prodigious effort. It has the texture of a skyscraper yet never becomes heavy or overbearing. This offering, which can send chills up your spine, is a candidate for one of the finest wines ever made in Napa Valley. 2000 Léoville-Las-Cases, St-Julien
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2000 Léoville-Las-Cases, St-Julien (100JS, 100WS, 98RP, 95ST, 95W&S). Wine Spectator: "*Collectibles, #5 on the Top 100 Wines of 2003* Absolutely fantastic. This is one of the most exciting young reds I have tasted in a long, long time. It shows intense aromas of berries, currants and minerals, with hints of mint. Full-bodied and packed with fruit and tannins, its long finish is refined and silky. A benchmark for the vintage. Las Cases has always wanted to make first-growth quality in a top-notch vintage, and it certainly did in 2000. Best after 2012. " (03/2003)

1975 d'Yquem, Sauternes
Bid on this bottle of 1975 d'Yquem, Sauternes (99RP, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1975 may turn out to be the greatest of the modern-day Yquems. When fully mature in another 25-30 years, it may rival the extraordinary 1937 and 1921. This wine continues to evolve at a stubbornly slow pace. It is far more backward than recent vintages such as 1983 and 1986. Nevertheless, it is awesomely concentrated, has perfect balance, and displays the telltale Yquem aromas of vanillin oak, tropical fruit, pineapples, honeyed peaches, and grilled almonds. There is exceptionally crisp acidity that pulls all of the massive extract into precise focus. This is a wine of astonishing power and finesse, with a finish that must be tasted to be believed. It is a monumental effort that may well justify a perfect score in another decade. Anticipated maturity: 2005-2060. Last tasted, 1/91. (Bordeaux Book, 3rd Edition, 01/1998)" (01/1998)

1990 Margaux, Margaux (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 1990 Margaux, Margaux (1.5L) (100RP, 98ST, 98WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I had this wine both in Seoul, Korea in February, and from my cellar in December, 2008, and it was remarkable how identical the wines smelled and tasted. It offers an extraordinary aromatic display of spring flowers, camphor, sweet red and black fruits, a hint of licorice, and no evidence of its 100% new oak cask aging. Round and generous with low acidity, but an opulent, full-bodied richness that is fresh with laser-like precision, this stunning wine is just beginning to reach its plateau of full maturity, where it should remain for another three decades. A sensational effort, it is one of the legendary wines made at Chateau Margaux. (RP)" (06/2009)

1985 Silver Oak Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 1985 Silver Oak Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (94RP). 1984 Chateau Montelena "Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 1984 Chateau Montelena "Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (92RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Chateau Montelena's wines possess gorgeous potential when young, and are even better when revisited later. The 1984 Cabernet Sauvignon exhibits the forward, jammy, cassis, and other black fruit character of the vintage, marvelously rich, full-bodied, concentrated flavors, high extract, gobs of glycerin, and moderate tannin in the finish. Its virtues - purity, richness, and opulence - along with a firm underpinning of tannin, should serve it well...(RP)" (08/1994)

2011 Ridge "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 2011 Ridge "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) ((93-95RP), 93AG). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2011 Monte Bello (87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc) emerges from the glass with tobacco, grilled herbs, smoke, incense and plums melding together in this soft, beautifully textured Monte Bello. The 2011 is a wine of exceptional textural finesse. The 100% new oak is totally integrated. In 2011, Ridge used a total of 18 of a possible 24 lots for the final blend. The presence of 88% Cabernet Sauvignon is the highest since the 1980s. I expect the 2011 to be a relatively early drinking Monte Bello, but time will be the judge. Anticipated maturity: 2018-2031. 2001 Saxum "Bone Rock" James Berry Vineyard Paso Robles Syrah (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 2001 Saxum "Bone Rock" James Berry Vineyard Paso Robles Syrah (1.5L) (95RP, 93WS). 95 points Robert Parker: "The spectacular 2001 Syrah James Berry Vineyard Bone Rock is a 300- case blend of 92% Syrah, 5% Mourvedre, and 3% Grenache aged 21 months in both French and Hungarian oak. Racked once, and bottled unfined and unfiltered, it takes its name from fossilized whale bones that were found imbedded in the vineyard’s steep, rocky terraces. It boasts great power and richness, but is incredibly well balanced. Its dense ruby/purple color is accompanied by a huge perfume of blackberry liqueur, camphor, licorice, earth, and roasting meat juices. The fabulous complex aromatics are followed by a full-bodied Syrah with great purity, impeccable balance, and world-class richness, complexity, and stature. This amazing effort can be drunk now or cellared for a decade. This is the best recent trilogy I’ve experienced since Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings!" (08/04) 93 points Wi

2001 Kistler "Hirsch Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2001 Kistler "Hirsch Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay (93RP, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "From a vineyard associated more with Pinot Noir than Chardonnay, the 2001 Chardonnay Hirsch Vineyard exhibits a light gold color as well as a big, earthy, mineral-filled bouquet with notions of scorched smoke, citrus oil, and a striking liquid stone character. This structured, nearly tannic Chardonnay should hit its prime in 1-2 years, and last for 5-7." (12/2003)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2001 Schrader Vieux-OS "Ira Carter" Napa Valley Old Vine Zinfandel (92ST). 92 points Stephen Tanzer: "Good dark red. Aromas of cassis, plum, tar, cedar and tobacco; a light dusty note dissipated with aeration. Highly concentrated, sweet and succulent, with a juicy, spicy quality as suggestive of cabernet as zinfandel. Finishes firmly tannic and fresh, with superb lingering fruit. This terrific zinfandel has delivered on the promise it showed a year ago from barrel." (May/June 2004)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Togni’s 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon explodes onto the palate with layers of dark fruit, roasted coffee beans, autumn leaves and spices. This is an immensely satisfying wine graced with striking inner sweetness and a vibrancy that will drink well for another 15+ years. The density of the fruit at ten years of age is remarkable. The 2001 is a re-release from the estate’s library. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2027. (AG)" (12/2011)

2008 Sine Qua Non "Jinete Bajo Vin de Paille" Roussanne (375ml) (OWC)
Bid on this 3-half-bottle lot of 2008 Sine Qua Non "Jinete Bajo Vin de Paille" Roussanne (375ml) (OWC - 96RP, 95ST) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The days of the Mr. K wines are gone forever with the tragically premature death of Austrian Alois Kracher, who had partnered with Manfred Krankl in this intriguing homage to sweet nectars. Krankl continues on his own, and in Spring, 2011, he will release the 2008 Jinete Bajo Roussanne Vin de Paille, which is named after his wife's favorite horse. Made from 100% estate fruit, with a finished alcohol level of 11.8%, a whopping 240 grams per liter of residual sugar, and 8.7 grams of acidity, this is a pure nectar of honeyed marmalade, waxy, syrupy honeysuckle, exotic creme brulee, and citrus. The remarkable acidity cuts through the extraordinary sweetness, so the impression is fresh and vibrant. Krankl has pulled off a marvelous balancing act with this cuvee. How long will it last? I have no idea - maybe 50-100 years, but gi

2004 Joseph Phelps "Insignia" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2004 Joseph Phelps "Insignia" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (97WE, 94CG, 94RP, 94WS, 93ST, 91W&S). Wine Enthusiast: "Tasted in October, 2007, the wine was mute, offering little aromatically except for teasing notes of blackberries and oak. That shyness extended to the taste, where strong, hard tannins provide an almost impenetrable coat of armor to what’s inside. But right down the middle of the palate is a deep, intensely powerful stream of perfectly ripened cassis that’s all the proof you need of ageability. This is a magnificently structured young wine, reminiscent of a fine young Pauillac. Best after 2012, and should have another decade after that, at least." (02/2008)

Of the 2003 Williams Selyem Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir,Connoisseurs Guide writes: "Classic cool-area Sonoma Pinot, this one features pulpy, ripe red cherry aromas filled with creamy oak and carried comfortably by the wine's varietally correct velvety texture. It is genuinely fruity in the mouth with a pleasing aftertaste and slight firmness to its lingering finish. Time in bottle will temper a bit of its direct and somewhat coarse approach and will allow it to develop an extra complement of range." (06/2005)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2011 Domaine Meo-Camuzet Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru ((91-94BH), 93WS, (90-92ST)). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A relatively expressive nose of various red berry fruit elements has added breadth from the presence of discreet spice and plenty of pungent earth character. The delicious and unusually fine flavors possess really lovely detail and good verve if only moderate power on the balanced and beautifully persistent finish. The supporting tannins are quite fine-grained and this is more of a Clos de Vougeot of finesse and harmony rather than robust muscle and punch." (01/2013)
