Of the 2007 Carlisle "James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Syrah,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "From one of California's top grand cru vineyards, Carlisle's 2007 Syrah James Berry Vineyard is a staggering effort. This site's chalky, limestone soils give the wine superb intensity as well as extraordinary laser-like focus. Blue and black fruit, graphite, ink, and camphor aromas soar from the glass of this superb, fabulously concentrated, full-bodied, layered wine that lasts for 45+ seconds. 2014 Kosta Browne "Gap's Crown Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Bid on this bottle of 2014 Kosta Browne "Gap's Crown Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (94RP, 90VN, 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Coming from steep, rocky soils on the Sonoma Coast, the 2014 Pinot Noir Gap's Crown Vineyard was brought up in 25% new French oak, 16% concrete and the rest in old barrels. All of the Pinot Noirs here go into barrel dry and see malolactic fermentation in barrel. This fabulous beauty gives up notes of black cherries, spring flowers, violets and spice in a medium-bodied, ultra-pure, seamless and elegant package that will benefit from short term cellaring and then cruise for a decade on its impeccable balance. This was another rock star lineup from Kosta Browne and it’s certainly one of the most impressive lineups I tasted all year. And while I generally consider 2013 to be a better vintage than 2014, these 2014s are a step up over last year’s releases, which were no slouches either. The estate continues to use moderate amounts of whole clusters for t

2002 Bond "Vecina" Napa Valley Red Blend
Bid on this bottle of 2002 Bond "Vecina" Napa Valley Red Blend (98RP, 95WE, 95WS, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2002 Vecina comes from a vineyard not far from the steep hillsides of Harlan Estate, on the western hills of the Mayacamas Mountains overlooking the Oakville corridor and the eastern hillsides. This is a much earthier, spicier, more structured wine, much more masculine, with notes of scorched earth and almost Graves-like smoky, camphor and barbecue notes as well as black fruits galore. With its big, muscular structure and dense opaque/purple color, this wine actually seems younger in its evolution than either the St. Eden or Melbury. It is probably best forgotten for another 5-6 years, with another 30-34 years lifeline potential. It’s a sensational wine. 98+ (RP)" (06/2012)

Of the 2014 McGah "Scarlett" Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon McGah Family Vineyard tips the scales at 14.9% natural alcohol and is a cuvée of 425 cases from their Rutherford site. This was all aged in Darnajou and Taransaud barrels, which seems to be the modus operandi for high-quality producers these days. With a nice structured mouthfeel for 2014 and loads of creme de cassis, black chocolate, espresso roast and coffee, this wine from the vineyard near the Beckstoffer Georges III is rich, opulent, fleshy and already strutting its complexity and fruit-forward characteristics. Drink it over the next 15-20 years. (RP)" (12/2016)

2010 Ridge Vineyards "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 Ridge Vineyards "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon (97VN, 96ST, 96W&S, 91RP, 90CG, 90WE). Vinous: "The 2010 Monte Bello is just as stunning as it has always been. Today, the 2010 appears to be entering a closed phase, so it is best left alone for at least another 5-10 years, perhaps longer. The signatures are super-ripe, exotic fruit, sweet aromatics and firm tannins, all of which ensure the 2010 will be utterly magnificent in a few decades. The growing season was characterized by mostly cold weather, with an unexpectedly intense heat spike in mid-October that gave the fruit a final push. One of the things that makes this vintage so compelling is the interplay of firm structural elements from the cold year and a high level of ripeness that was achieved late. In my view, the 2010 is one of the most thrilling recent Monte Bellos, however it won't be ready to drink for a number of years and it won't peak for quite some time beyond that.

Chapoutier "Le Méal" Ermitage Rouge,Wine Enthusiast writes: "Chapoutier's selections of the best parcels of vines in Hermitage are set to become legendary. Sold under the ancient spelling of the appellation name (Ermitage), they represent the epitome of the power and concentration that lies behind the reputation of the appellation. This cuvée is the best of the collection, with its brooding, opaque character, suggesting rather than revealing power at this stage. 1995 Haut-Brion, Pessac-Léognan
Bid on this bottle of 1995 Haut-Brion, Pessac-Léognan (96RP, 95WS, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "It is fun to go back and forth between the 1995 and 1996, two superb vintages for Haut-Brion. The 1995 seems to have sweeter tannin and a bit more fat and seamlessness when compared to the more structured and muscular 1996. Certainly 1995 was a vintage that the brilliant administrator Jean Delmas handled flawlessly. The result is a deep ruby/purple-colored wine with a tight but promising nose of burning wood embers intermixed with vanilla, spice box, earth, mineral, sweet cherry, black currant, plum-like fruit, medium to full body, a high level of ripe but sweet tannin, and a finish that goes on for a good 40-45 seconds. Wine Enthusiast: "*Cellar Selection* From the winery’s own Westside Road vineyard, formerly called Litton, comes this grandiose, if immature, Pinot Noir. In its youth it’s all about primary, jammy raspberry and cherry fruit. On the edges are fine acidity, smooth tannins and a perfect appliqué of oak. Vinous: "One of the riper, more opulent wines in the range, the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Actaeon is loaded with classic Stags' Leap dark red/purplish fruit. Bid on this magnum lot of 2014 Andremily No. 3 Santa Barbara County Syrah (1.5L) (OCB - (98-100RP), (93-95VN)) in original cardboard. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "What could even surpass the sensational 2013, the 2014 No 3 from Jim Binns checks in as a blend of 89% Syrah, 8% Mourvedre and 3% Viognier that saw 54% whole clusters and will see a full 23 months in 60% new French oak. There will be a scant 450 cases of this nectar and it comes from three top sites: Larner Vineyard, White Hawk and Alta Mesa (Mourvedre). Sporting an inky, vibrant purple/blue color, it offers insane levels of purity and focus in its crème de cassis, crushed violets, exotic spice, floral and chocolate-laced aromas and flavors. Ripe, rich and seductive, it has a lively acid line, medium levels of fine tannins and a long finish with layers of kirsch and cherry syrup flavors lingering. Drink it now to 2018+. 2011 Cirq "Treehouse Vineyard" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2011 Cirq "Treehouse Vineyard" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir (92VN, 91ST, 90WS). Vinous: "The 2011 Pinot Noir Treehouse is a firm, structured wine that needs quite a bit of air to start opening up. Dark red stone fruits, crushed rocks, mint, licorice and spices emerge, followed by more floral dried rose petal and violet notes as the wine begins to emerge. The savory notes of the year are evident but well balanced. This is a terrific first effort from Michael Browne and Cirq. If opened within the next year, the 2011 is going to need at least 2 hours of air for the tannins to soften. This is every bit as impressive as it was from barrel. (AG)" (02/2014)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Dr. Crane Vineyard tastes like a California version of a La Mission Haut-Brion. Blueberry and blackberry fruit, wet gravel, crushed-rock notes and white flowers are followed by a full-bodied, elegant wine - with not the level of concentration of the Georges III, but with seemingly more ethereal and sublime subtleties and nuances. The bouquet develops incrementally, offering up aromas of black raspberries, cherries, cigar box, licorice, and leather. I do not normally quote dry extract numbers, because taste is more important than the numbers. However, I could not help but notice one of the highest measured dry extract numbers I have ever seen in a wine with the 1998 Redigaffi -- 39 grams per liter! 2013 Orin Swift "Mercury Head" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2013 Orin Swift "Mercury Head" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (98RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 100% Cabernet Sauvignon aged 18 months in 50% new French oak, is the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Mercury Head. Certainly one of the more intriguing labels, with a real Mercury-head dime embedded in the glass bottle, this 4,500-case cuvée comes from blocks in Taplin, Morisoli and Atlas Peak vineyards. The final blend is a selection of their best barrels, bottled and aged another six months prior to release. This is a killer Cabernet Sauvignon, full-bodied and multilayered, with stunning blueberry and blackberry fruit, floral acacia notes, a hint of brioche and subtle toasty oak followed by a massive, full-bodied wine with sweet tannin and beautifully integrated acidity, alcohol and wood. This profound Cabernet Sauvignon should drink well now and for 25+ years. Dave Phinney may well be 2015's winemaker of the year for this wine taster. (RP)" (10/2015)

From RP's 1996 tasting notes: "...The deep opaque purple color, and tightly wound nose and flavors still reveal enough profound aromas and flavors to mark this as one of Mondavi's most sensational efforts. The nose possesses a Margaux/Mouton-like cassis, lead pencil, floral aroma, backed-up by copious quantities of blackcurrant fruit. In the mouth, my notes said, 'great stuff.' The wine is full-bodied, layered, multi-dimensional, and astonishingly well-balanced, with an inner-depth and core of exceptional richness and intensity. All of this has been accomplished without any notion of obtrusive weight, tannin, or alcohol. The finish lasts for 35+ seconds. 2001 E. Guigal "Ex-Voto" Hermitage Blanc
Bid on this bottle of 2001 E. Guigal "Ex-Voto" Hermitage Blanc (96RP, 93WS, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A stunning effort, the 2001 Hermitage Ex-Voto blanc is an 8,000-bottle cuvee produced from 50 and 90-year old vines in Les Murets and l’Ermite vineyards; it will only be made in the greatest vintages. Aged in 100% new oak for 18 months, it is a blend of 95% Marsanne and 5% Roussanne. This fabulous white Hermitage ranks alongside Chapoutier’s limited cuvees of Le Meal, l’Ermite, and l’Oree. Guigal’s 2001 Hermitage Ex-Voto offers up stupendous aromas of white peaches, truffles, quince, and a liqueur of stones. This amazing white should drink well young, yet last 2-3 decades. 2002 Nicolas Potel Bonnes Mares Grand Cru
Bid on this bottle of 2002 Nicolas Potel Bonnes Mares Grand Cru (91ST). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Medium red. Highly complex aromas of sweet raspberry, dill, brown spices, rose petal, menthol, gingerbread and underbrush. Large-scaled and round but not at all overly sweet. A chewy, rather brooding and youthfully clenched Bonnes-Mares that turns sweeter toward the back, finishing with molten tannins and slightly austere hints of licorice and spice. (ST)" (03/2005)

Wine Spectator: "*#19 on the Top 100 Wines of 1999* A deep wine--one where you have to put your nose far into the glass to capture the subtleties. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2005 Clos Vougeot displays roasted, singed meatiness along with bitter-sweet, szechuan pepper-tinged mulberry fruit. Boasting terrific density on the palate, fineness of tannin, clarity of fruit, and saline, chalk and wet stone manifestations of mineral, this finishes with pungent spice and stone fruit. 2003 La Vieille Cure, Fronsac
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2003 La Vieille Cure, Fronsac (92RP, 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The following sleeper of the vintage strongly suggests that La Vieille Cure is becoming one of Fronsac’s two or three finest estates. The finest wine yet made at La Vieille Cure, the 2003 should be on the shopping lists of consumers seeking tremendous quality/price rapport. Its dense ruby/purple color is followed by sweet aromas of scorched earth, black raspberries, creme de cassis, and notions of cherries, smoke, and crushed rocks. This big, full-bodied, dense, captivating wine is structured as well as exceptionally long. (RP)" (04/2006)

2013 Pott "The Arsenal - Greer Vineyard" Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2013 Pott "The Arsenal - Greer Vineyard" Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon (95VN, 94RP, 92WS). Vinous: "Nothing in particular stands out in the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon The Arsenal. Instead, it is the wine's overall balance that truly impresses. Lavender, mint, sweet spices and red stone fruit are all finely spun into the racy finish. Sadly, this is Pott's last vintage of The Arsenal, as proprietor Rob Greer has opted to keep all of the fruit for his own project. (AG)" (10/2015)

Bid on this bottle of 2010 Domaine Sylvain Cathiard Vosne-Romanee 1er Cru "Les Suchots" ((91-94BH), (91-94ST)). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good, bright deep red. Aromas of black raspberry, mocha, cocoa and chocolatey oak. Sweet and thick but energetic, with a chocolatey richness to the lightly saline flavors of dark berries, spices and minerals. A bit clenched on the back end but dense and very long, and not at all heavy. A very good vintage for this cuvee. (ST)" (01/2012)

1997 Bartolo Mascarello Barolo (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum lot of 1997 Bartolo Mascarello Barolo (1.5L) (94RP, 93VN, 91ST, 90JG). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I underestimated this wine from barrel, but now that the great old man of the village of Barolo, Bartolo Mascarello, has gotten it in bottle, it is an impressive, old style, heavyweight effort that will age for three decades. A dark plum/garnet color is accompanied by a striking bouquet of cinnamon, balsam wood, roses, tar, minerals, and cherry liqueur. There is good acidity, a broad, full-bodied, super-concentrated palate, and tell-tale truffle, leather, and dried herb notes. Powerful and long, this well-delineated, gorgeously pure, structured Barolo is a classic from the old school of Piedmontese winemaking. Anticipated maturity: 2005-2030. (RP)" (06/2001)

Bid on this magnum lot of 2011 Domaine Bruno Clair Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru (1.5L) (94RP, 93BH). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted blind at the Burgundy 2011 horizontal tasting in Beaune. The Chambertin Clos de Bèze 2011 from Bruno Clair has a very succinct bouquet with red cherries, crushed strawberry and a deft touch of bergamot that is detailed and focused. The palate is medium-bodied with succulent, ripe tannins and very well-judged acidity that keeps the whole thing tense and poised. This feels natural and refined with wonderful poise and grace on the delineated finish. There is some oak to be fully absorbed here, but the class shows through. (NM)" (11/2014)

Highly aromatic nose combines red fruits, spices and minerals; perfumed and high-toned. Rich, lush, broad and sweet but with harmonious balancing acids keeping it firm and youthful. Boasts a silky texture and the best volume and persistence of these '04s. Tannins are sweet. A terrific showing today, but give this five years of aging. (ST)" (04/2007)

2012 Rudius "Kaley Elizabeth" Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2012 Rudius "Kaley Elizabeth" Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon (95RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Kaley Elizabeth is sourced exclusively from the Tierra Roja Vineyard in eastern Oakville. It sits below and adjacent to Dalla Valle and is in the same neighborhood as the Backus Vineyard of Joseph Phelps and the Rudd estate. This is a high-priced zip code for sure. Jeff Ames produced this wine and named it after his daughter. And it's a tiny cuvée, of only about four barrels, or 100 or so cases. Bottled unfined and unfiltered after 18 months in oak, the wine has beautiful, earthy/loamy soil and forest floor notes intermixed with blueberry and blackberry fruit, true terroir character, a full-bodied mouthfeel and beautiful purity of fruit and depth. The wine is rich, full and capable of evolving for 20 to 25+ years. This wine builds incrementally, and while at first there seems to be incredibly delicate and well-integrated sweet tannin,

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2005 Domaine Amiot-Servelle Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru "Les Charmes" (92BH, 91ST). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Here the aromas are quite ripe, running more to dark berry and black cherry with traces of spice and underbrush that can also be found on the rich, full and generous flavors that are sweet and mouth coating. This is wonderfully fresh and refined with dusty tannins and excellent intensity on the balanced and beautifully long finale. I quite like this as there is a real sense of vibrancy in the mouth. A classic Charmes that is built to age." (01/2008)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2005 Domaine de la Pousse d'Or Corton Clos du Roi Grand Cru ((92-95BH), 93RP, 93ST). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "In contrast to the relatively open nose of the Bressandes, the Clos du Roi is brooding, reserved and somber though the most black and dark berry fruit aromas are ripe and spicy and this spice character continues onto the rich, power and robust flavors that are supported by a balanced core of sap and an extremely firm but not hard core of tannins. This is a big wine yet it remains relatively refined and is clearly built for the long haul. (AM)" (04/2007)

Nose initially dominated by tomatoey reduction, with raspberry, framboise, rose petal and spice notes emerging with aeration. Suave and supple in texture, communicating a very fine-grained quality to its concentrated flavors of red berries, cocoa powder and butter. Very rich, dry, classic Suchots with terrific length and noteworthy finesse. Yves Confuron believes that in its nobility this wine approaches the 2013 but says the '13 is more concentrated.
