2009 Leonetti Walla Walla Valley Merlot
Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 2009 Leonetti Walla Walla Valley Merlot (94WE, 93RP, 92WS, 90ST). Wine Enthusiast: "Though 2009 was a difficult vintage for Washington Merlot, this is a truly luscious wine. It welcomes the taster instantly with massive, generous fruit cloaked in toasty, chewy, mocha and caramel flavors. Tasted over the course of 48 hours, it held up well, developing broad, well-integrated flavors of berries to complement the hedonistic oak. Sure to be a favorite among all the current releases from Leonetti. (PG)" (09/2011)

Bid on this magnum lot of 2006 Bond "St. Eden" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (1.5L) (94RP, 94WE, 93ST, 92W&S, 91JS, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "From the valley floor vineyard in Oakville, the 2006 St. Eden has shed some of its tannic clout of last year and taken on a generously endowed style, with stunning black fruits, roasted herbs, sweet cassis, graphite, and new oak. Fleshy and even opulent (an anomaly for a 2006), this is an impressively endowed Cabernet Sauvignon to drink over the next 25 years. (RP)" (12/2009)

2013 Saxum "Paderewski Vineyard" Paso Robles Red Blend
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2013 Saxum "Paderewski Vineyard" Paso Robles Red Blend ((96-99RP), 94VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Coming from Bill and Liz Armstrong's Paderewski Vineyard on the southwest side of Paso, the 2013 Paderewski Vineyard is a blend of 34% Mourvèdre, 33% Zinfandel, 13% Petite Sirah, 12% Syrah and 8% Tempranillo, and is the first time Mourvedre (which is a variety Justin is more and more excited about) has trumped Zinfandel in the blend. It offers sensational notes of Bing cherries, blueberries, peppery herbs and lots of chalky minerality, full-bodied richness and a sexy, seamless and ethereal texture that carries plenty of building tannin. I underlined "Awesome Texture" three times in my note. Given the tannin, give it a year or so after release and enjoy bottles through 2025. (JD)" (08/2015)

2010 Carlisle "The Derivative" Sonoma County White Blend
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2010 Carlisle "The Derivative" Sonoma County White Blend (91ST). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "(76% Semillon from the Monte Rosso vineyard and 24% Muscadelle from Pagani Ranch): Green-gold. Pungent aromas of pear skin, tangerine, bee pollen and jasmine, with a gingery overtone. Deeply pitched but light on its feet, offering broad citrus pith and orchard fruit flavors and a sexy floral quality. Closes with very good clarity and nervy, spicy persistence. This reminded me a lot of a northern Rhone (non-Viognier) white wine. (ST)" (05/2012)

2005 Kistler "Kistler Vineyard" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2005 Kistler "Kistler Vineyard" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir ((93-95RP), 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Steve Kistler has backed off extraction for his Pinot Noirs, resulting in more ethereal (but not light) Pinots that are less burdened down by tannin in their youth, with each vineyard’s distinctive fruit and terroir coming through with much greater intensity. After experimenting with some Dijon clones, Kistler became convinced that the best clone for cool climate vineyards is the Calera Clone from California, and based on what he has achieved, I can’t argue. The deep ruby/purple-hued 2005 Pinot Noir Kistler Vineyard possesses sweet blueberry, raspberry, and forest floor notes, zesty acidity, elegance, and finesse, and a medium-bodied finish. Bid on this 2-bottle 2012&2013 Sonoma Coast Chardonnay Tasting Lot, including 1-bottle of 2012 Bevan "Ritchie Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay and 1-bottle of 2013 Aubert Sonoma Coast Chardonnay. Of the 2013 Aubert Sonoma Coast Chardonnay,Praise for the winemaker from Robert Parker writes: "Mark Aubert is one of the contenders for California’s finest practitioner of Burgundian-styled, yet classic, California Chardonnays. His offerings are all made like grand cru Burgundies with full malolactic, the use of French oak and lees stirring, but the purity of fruit, the textural dimensions, and the stunning singularity of these Chardonnays can only be matched by a handful of other Chardonnay producers in the world. The bright, floral notes typical of this site are present, but the fruit has begun to acquire more depth, richness and darkness, with apricot pit, peach, smoke, spice and roasted nut overtones. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Sine Qua Non "On the Lam" White Blend (94ST, 93RP). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Vivid gold. Intense, floral-accented scents of orange zest, pit fruit and candied ginger. Powerful and broad but surprisingly energetic, offering sappy, palate-staining citrus marmalade and peach flavors lifted by tangy acidity. A suave honey note comes up with air and carries through the long, spicy finish. (JR)" (11/2011)

2013 Cayuse "God Only Knows" Walla Walla Valley Grenache (OWC)
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2013 Cayuse "God Only Knows" Walla Walla Valley Grenache (OWC - 94RP, 93VN) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Grenache seemed to handle the heat nicely in 2013 and the 2013 Grenache God Only Knows Armada Vineyard offers a gorgeous, rich, almost masculine style (especially when it’s tasted next to the No Girls Grenache) in its dark fruits, crushed herbs, mineral and leather scented profile. Even showing a touch of game with time in the glass, this beauty has fine tannin, plenty of fruit and a great finish, all suggesting it will drink nicely for another decade. Looking at these latest releases from Cayuse, the 2013s are surprisingly elegant and silky, with less overall concentration and depth than I expected after tasting them from barrel last year. They possess slightly lighter, translucent colors, moderate to good concentration and polished tannin. At times I was wishing for a touch more exuberance and texture. Nevertheless, these are silky

2007 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2007 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (100RP, 96WE, 95ST, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A monumental wine in the making, the 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon is one of those wines that presents such an over the top array of aromas and flavors that it’s hard to figure out what you think about it with just a quick glance. It’s only with the second or third sip that you really start to see how special this effort truly is. Offering up perfumed, intense aromas of plum, violets, ink, licorice and black currants, it flows onto the palate with a massive, incredibly full-bodied texture that builds through the mid-palate and carries layers of polished tannins, awesome purity of fruit and blockbuster length. Most likely not for everyone given the sheer size, it is an incredible wine in my opinion. Still tasting like a barrel sample, it will have 30+ total years of longevity. Drink 2017-2037. It will be at its best from 2017 to 2035 ... (JM)" (06/2008)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2010 Rochioli "Sweetwater Vineyard" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir (94RP, 93WE, 92ST, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Pinot Noir Sweetwater is a large-scaled, dramatic wine. It boasts huge black fruit and notable intensity from start to finish. Sweet, perfumed aromatics develop in the glass, but the Sweetwater remains tannic and in need of at least another 1-2 years in bottle. The wine literally sizzles on the palate with energy, and my impression is it will be magnificent with time. The clones in this parcel are Dijon, 777 and Rochioli. (AG)" (02/2012)

2013 Bevan "Moaveni Vineyard - Ode to M" Bennett Valley Syrah
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2013 Bevan "Moaveni Vineyard - Ode to M" Bennett Valley Syrah (99RP, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2013 Syrah Moaveni Vineyard is 100% Syrah aged in equal parts Gamba and François Frères cooperage. On the back label is a touching quote, 'Ode To M,' the 'M' standing for Manfred Krankl at Sine Qua Non, who has made a full and miraculous recovery from a near-fatal motorcycle crash. Bevan pays homage to him because he loves the wines and the man. This wine flirts with perfection. Blackberry, blueberry, black raspberry, camphor and charcoal notes soar from the glass, and once the wine hits the palate, there’s no doubt we’re into rarefied air. Meaty, lavender-infused barbecue notes are followed by a sumptuously styled, extravagantly rich, incredibly pure, intense expression of Syrah that should drink well for 20 or more years... Of the 2012 Sea Smoke "Southing" Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir,Wine Enthusiast writes: " *Cellar Selection* Named after the famed vineyard’s south-facing slopes, this vintage is expertly crafted, with aromas of ripe red cherry, sandalwood, black pepper, graphite, purple flowers and damp pine needles. It’s complex, with dark red fruit and tickling cardamom spice set against fine-grained tannins. From RP's 1996 tasting notes: "...The deep opaque purple color, and tightly wound nose and flavors still reveal enough profound aromas and flavors to mark this as one of Mondavi's most sensational efforts. The nose possesses a Margaux/Mouton-like cassis, lead pencil, floral aroma, backed-up by copious quantities of blackcurrant fruit. In the mouth, my notes said, 'great stuff.' Bid on this bottle of 2005 Domaine Bonneau du Martray Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru (95JS, 94BH, 93W&S). James Suckling: "My birthday celebration night in Hong Kong moved on from Moët & Chandon and Dom Pérignon 2000 to a 2005 Bonneau de Martray Corton-Charlemange, which is an old favorite of mine for great white Burgundy. I often say that great Corton-Charlemagne is a red wine masquerading as a white wine because it can be so structured and textured. This 2005 was certainly like that. Some say that Bonneau de Martray went down in quality in the 1990s but then came back in the 2000s. The 2005 that we drank was excellent quality. It was a tightly structured white with sliced apples, lemon meringue and an exquisite cream character. It was full body and silky-textured, showing a dense and beautiful palate. It still needs at least two or three years to open and show its true quality." (06/2016)

1990 Domaine Faiveley Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru (375ml)
Bid on this 1-half-bottle lot of 1990 Domaine Faiveley Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru (375ml) (92RP, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This firm offers a strong line-up of grands crus from the Cote de Nuits. The Mazis-Chambertin is even more savage and ferociously tannic, but potentially superior to the Clos de Vougeot. It possesses the darkest, most saturated ruby/purple color of any of the grands crus, as well as a fuller-bodied, more concentrated style. While the tannins are high, the wine appears to have the requisite depth of fruit to balance out the structure. This long, rich, intensely concentrated wine should be at its best by the late nineties and last into the second decade of the next century. (RP)" (10/1992)

2005 Kapcsandy Family "State Lane Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2005 Kapcsandy Family "State Lane Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (98RP, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "98+ points. The 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon, which was 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Merlot and 6% Cabernet Franc (600 cases), reveals loads of licorice, graphite, and blackcurrants in a sexy, toasty style with hints of earth, loamy soil notes and a floral underpinning. The wine is fragrant, with great intensity, a full-bodied mouthfeel, and almost a Mouton-Rothschild-like crème de cassis element. This wine is drinking well now, but will continue to evolve for another two decades. (RP)" (06/2015)

Bid on this bottle of 2004 Domaine Jean Grivot Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru "Les Beaux Monts" (91ST, 90BH, 90WE, 90WS). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good medium red. Aromas of black plum and violet lifted by spices. Rich and seamless, with good lift and definition to the plum and floral flavors. Finishes with broad, palate-dusting tannins and lovely aromatic persistence. Very sexy already. I asked Grivot why he uses a good 20% more new oak than he did ten years ago. "Seduction," he responded succinctly, adding that he does not use "powerful" oak. (ST)" (03/2007)

Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A reserved, almost understated nose of plum, earth, truffle and extract of dark pinot fruit leads to detailed, classy, rich and relatively backward yet fine flavors of stunning length and balance. This has added weight, power, depth and richness since my last visit and it is an impressive effort in every respect. " (01/2005)

2004 Domaine Joseph Roty Griotte-Chambertin Grand Cru
Bid on this bottle of 2004 Domaine Joseph Roty Griotte-Chambertin Grand Cru (92BH, 92ST). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good full red. Inviting, expressive nose features dark cherry, licorice, iron, black pepper and roasted herbs. Dense and sappy; less powerful than the Mazis but intense, sappy and aromatic, with excellent lift from the pepper and spice elements. The Rotys carried out a green harvest here, but not in their Charmes-Chambertin parcel. Finishes with excellent length. I love this bracing style. Very 2004 but in need of patience. (ST)" (03/2007)

2013 Shafer "Relentless" Napa Valley Syrah
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2013 Shafer "Relentless" Napa Valley Syrah ((98-100RP), (91-93VN)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The same can be said for the 2013 Syrah Relentless, which might end up being the finest one they’ve ever made. The berries were the smallest they’ve encountered, and they were not the only winery to say that about the 2013 red varietals. A blend of 97% Syrah and 3% Petite Sirah, the wine is opaque black/purple with an incredible nose of subtle wood, charcoal embers, blackberry, blueberry and black raspberry fruit, baking spices, and again, a roasted meatiness with some bouquet garni thrown in the background. The complex aromatics were already starting to roar from the glass, and the wine, enormously endowed, is full-bodied and flawlessly constructed. This is a killer effort that should drink well for 40+ years. (RP)" (10/2014)

2014 Schrader ''Old Sparky'' Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum lot of 2014 Schrader ''Old Sparky'' Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (98RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Old Sparky, Fred Schrader's favorite selection, is clone 4 from the To Kalon Vineyard aged in 100% new Darnajou and seems closest in personality and overall style to the CCS. This is a beautiful wine with great intensity and seems to be one of the superstars of this vintage. Smoky barbecue notes intermix with charcoal embers, blackberry, cassis, Christmas fruitcake, licorice and camphor. This is a complex 2014 that is showing beautifully at the moment and will continue to drink well for another 20 years." (10/2016)

There is more acidity showing through, the fruit offering up various red and black fruits from pomegranate to plum to cassis, dark sweet cherries as well as foresty underbrush notes. 2010 Casanova di Neri "Tenuta Nuova" Brunello di Montalcino
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2010 Casanova di Neri "Tenuta Nuova" Brunello di Montalcino (100RP, 99JS, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Brunello di Montalcino Tenuta Nuova is a protagonist of the vintage. The fruit is deep and dark with rich levels of extract, intensity and flavor. It goes far beyond your standard cherry and blackberry to include plum cake, spice bread and bacon-wrapped prune. Nothing is obvious or monochromatic about this wine. Everything is nuanced and ethereal. Tenuta Nuova is also distinguished by the linear mineral notes that are characteristic of this single-vineyard site. In 2010, those traits are especially well-defined and pronounced. The tannins reach a level of suppleness that is almost impossible to find in the sometimes prickly and acidic Sangiovese grape. If there is one thing Giacomo Neri has mastered, it is harvesting at optimal ripeness: He knows his property and his vines better than most and it shows. Collectors will want to put this wi

Vinous: "The 2011 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Goulots stands out for its aromatic lift and pure expressiveness. The Goulots blossoms in all directions, with layers of bright, intensely perfumed fruit and compelling overall balance. Seamless and beautiful, the 2011 impresses for its exceptional overall harmony. The cool site on the top of the slope complements some of the more overt qualities of the year. Sweet dark cherries, mint and cloves flow through to the inviting finish. (AG)" (03/2012)

Reticent aromas of raspberry, strawberry and crushed stone. Rounder and sweeter than the village wine, with sexy herb and spice notes giving lift to the supple middle palate. Really saturates the mouth on the rising, echoing finish. Has a solid tannic spine to support a graceful evolution in bottle. Showing more stuffing than it did from barrel a year ago. Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2005 Clos du Caillou "Reserve" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (100RP, 97WS, 96ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The best bottle of this I've ever had, the 2005 Châteauneuf du Pape Reserve was utter perfection on this occasion. Made from a blend of 70% Grenache and 30% Mourvèdre that was raised mostly in demi-muids, it exhibits awesome notes of blackberry, licorice, smoked herbs, graphite and tinges of minerality. Decadent, massively full-bodied and with sweet tannin, this thrilling Châteauneuf is hard to resist now, yet should continue to knock it out of the park for another decade or more. (JD)" (02/2015)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2007 Vietti "Brunate" Barolo (98RP, (96-97JS), 97ST, 95WS, 94WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Barolo Brunate is a stunner. Layers of dark fruit, mocha, chocolate, menthol, pine and spices emerge reluctantly from an inward, mysterious Barolo that captures the essence of one of Piedmont's greatest sites. Structurally, it remains a powerhouse, with massive tannins, great body and fabulous length. The Brunate is one of the most improved wines at Vietti over the last few years, and is a huge success in this vintage. Anticipated maturity: 2017-2032. (AG)" (02/2011)
