2011 Henri Germain Meursault Les Chevalieres 1er Cru
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2011 Henri Germain Meursault Les Chevalieres 1er Cru ((88-91BH)). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This is notably more elegant with its cool and ultra-pure nose of lemon zest, acacia blossom and mineral reduction. There is a similar sense of cool restraint to the stony and beautifully well-delineated flavors that culminate in a citrusy, dry and lingering finish. This is a wine of finesse." (06/2013)

2009 Saxum "James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 2009 Saxum "James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (1.5L) (98RP, 97JS, 97WS, 96VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Simply put, the 2009 James Berry Vineyard is one of the greatest young wines I have ever tasted from California, or anywhere for that matter. Bright, floral aromatics lead to expressive red fruit in this impossibly elegant, dazzling wine. A melange of rose petals, mint and licorice follows as the James Berry shows off its breathtaking clarity and finesse. Fine-grained, chalky tannins frame the exceptional finish. Frankly, I am surprised this is the first wine of the tasting. Where does one go from here? The 2009 James Berry is a bit of departure from previous vintages. This is the highest percentage of Grenache ever used in the blend, and a large portion of the Grenache was aged in concrete, an approach Smith has borrowed from producers in the Rhone. Originally Smith had intended to age less of the Grenache components in concrete, but the low

Bid on this bottle of 1996 Domaine Leflaive Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru "Les Pucelles" (96VN, 95RP, 95WS). Vinous: "The opening flight of Puligny-Montrachet Les Pucelles from Domaine Leflaive was utterly staggering. The 2002 was seamless, ripe, opulent and intricately woven, with a kaleidoscopic, vivid expression of fruit that was breathtaking. The 1996 showed more advanced notes of smoke, tar and licorice, all wrapped around a massive core of fruit. It was a profound Pucelles. The 1989 was soft, subtle and delicate, with pretty, minty notes that added freshness on the finish. (AG)" (03/2010)

It possesses tremendous ripeness, full-bodied richness, incredible purity and a singular style that stands out from the crowd. This flawless, seamless 2007 should drink well for 20-25 years. Bid on this magnum of 2002 Peter Michael "Le Moulin Rouge" Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir (1.5 L) (92ST, 91RP). 91 points Robert Parker: "The 2002 Pinot Noir Le Moulin Rouge (325 cases) displays the same floral characteristics as the 2001 along with striking elegance. Although more superficial on the palate, without the depth and power of the 2001, it is still an elegant, complex beauty that should drink well for 5-6 years. P.S. For those who have them in the bottle, the final ratings for the 2002 Chardonnays are as follows: Belle Cote (96), La Carriere (97), Cuvee Indigene (95), Ma Belle Fille (96), Mon Plaisir (94), and Point Rouge (98)." (02/05) 92(+?) points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "(aged in 50% new and 50% once-used barrels) Good bright ruby-red. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2006 Pinot Noir Bodega Headlands Cuvee Elizabeth is undeniably a grand cru effort. Black raspberry, spring flower (violets), and kirsch aromas soar from the glass of this dark ruby/purple-tinged wine. Medium to full-bodied with zesty acidity, beautiful penetration, and a soaring mid-palate as well as length result in a prodigious example of Pinot Noir that should drink well for a decade or more. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "ndrew Wills' flagship wine is called Sorella; the 2007 Sorella, sourced entirely from the Champoux Vineyard, one of Washington's finest sites, is made up of 72% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Cabernet Franc, 10% Merlot, and 3% Petit Verdot. Aromas of toasty oak, espresso, Asian spices, incense, black currant, and blackberry lead to a firmly structured wine with impeccable balance and serious aging potential. 2005 Torbreck "Les Amis" Grenache Barossa Valley (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 2005 Torbreck "Les Amis" Grenache Barossa Valley (1.5L) (98RP, 94VN, 93WE, 91WS, 17JR). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2005 Les Amis, sourced from a 100+-year-old vineyard, is 100% Grenache aged for 18 months in new oak. Remarkably fragrant, it emits full-throttle aromas of spice box, kirsch, wild raspberry, and blackberry liqueur. Plush on the palate, it reveals layers of rich, red and black berry flavors, ripe tannin, and a 60-second, pure finish. Although it can be admired now, the wine merits 6-8 years of further bottle aging to reveal all of its splendors. This sensational effort could easily masquerade as Pegau Cuvee de Capo on human growth hormone. (JM)" (10/2007)

2007 Marcassin "Marcassin Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Bid on this bottle of 2007 Marcassin "Marcassin Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (98RP, 96WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I had always believed the 2007 Pinot Noir was the finest Helen Turley and John Wetlaufer had produced at their Estate Vineyard, but after doing this vertical and seeing the performances of the 1998, 2002 and 2004, that belief rings somewhat hollow. The still young, incredible 2007 has all the potential needed to achieve a three-digit rating in a few years. A dense plum/purple color is followed by notes of subtle smoke, barbecue spice, blueberries, red and black currants, flowers, and a smoky meat-like character that I first compared to the aroma of Peking duck. There is something exotic about this full-bodied, dense 2007. Young and vibrant, it should hit its peak in 5-6 years, and last until 2030-2035. This world-class, prodigious Pinot Noir is probably better than 90% of the red Burgundies being produced. 98+ (RP)" (06/2014)

1987 Robert Mondavi "Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 1987 Robert Mondavi "Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (97RP, 93WS, 90ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This extraordinary wine is backward and unevolved, but even neophytes will recognize its potential greatness. The opaque, saturated, dark purple color reveals no sign of age. The huge, smoky, oaky, blackcurrant, herb, and vanillin-scented nose only hints at what will be achieved with further evolution. Sweet, decadently rich, dense, highly extracted flavors are wrapped around a full-bodied, chewy, super-concentrated, moderately tannic wine that, ideally, needs 7-8 more years of cellaring. It is a 25 to 30 year California Cabernet Sauvignon that is just beginning to become civilized. A potential legend in the making! (RP)" (08/1994)

Of the 1988 Lafaurie-Peyraguey, Sauternes (375ml),Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "The massively rich, yet fresh, lively 1988 offers a compelling, flowery, honeyed bouquet of vanilla custard, buttery orange/apricot scents, and smoky ceme brulee. The wine's zesty acidity brings everything into extraordinary clarity. With plenty of botrytis evident, this is a full-bodied, super-concentrated, fascinating, powerful yet elegant Sauternes that will age beautifully for 25-30 years. Anticipated maturity: 2001-2030. Of the 2007 L'Aventure "Côte à Côte - Estate" Paso Robles Rhône Blend,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "Just as good, the 2007 Cote a Cote starts out tight and reserved, but blossoms with time in the glass, showing incredibly pure creme de cassis, black cherry, licorice and spice-driven aromas and flavors. These all flow to a full-bodied, deep, rich and layered profile on the palate that carries beautiful concentration, excellent overall purity and freshness, and a blockbuster finish. Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2010 No Girls "La Paciencia Vineyard" Walla Walla Valley Grenache (94RP, 93WE, 92WS, 90ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Showing the house style, which is generally more finesse driven than the wines of Cayuse, the 2010 Grenache La Paciencia Vineyard is a gorgeously complex, elegant effort that has both richness and freshness. A 100% Grenache that sees no new oak whatsoever, it possesses exotic aromas and flavors of lavender, olive, river rock and spiced meats that are all grounded by a sweet core of black cherry-like fruit. Medium to full-bodied, transparent and supple, with a deft, seamless texture, juicy acidity and outstanding length, this beautifully done 2010 will drink well for 7-8 years. Drink now-2020. Of the 1963 Louis Martini Private Reserve Napa Cabernet Sauvignon,The story of Louis Martini is a key chapter in Napa's winemaking history. Genovese immigrant Louis Martini established his first business in 1922, smack in the middle of Prohibition (in force in the US from 1919 until 1933). He was therefore limited to making "sacramental and medicinal" wines at first. With the end of prohibition, Martini became one the first winemakers in California to produce vintage varietal table wines in quantity, and at reasonable prices. His son's 1968/70 Merlot was the first varietal Merlot made in the US. Of the 2010 Privé "Le Nord" Chehalem Mountains Pinot Noir,Mark and Tina Hammond purchased a small vineyard in 1995 that was originally planted to Muller-Thurgau. What came next was a Burgundy-inspired venture, with the Hammonds grafting the vines over to Pinot Noir. William Gaffney of The Prince of Pinot writes writes: "The vines are meticulously farmed organically and yields are less than 2 tons per acre. In 2010 and 2011, the Hammonds made a conscious effort to pull back vigor and the resulting wines are more fruit forward. They believe that a subtle herbal note in the 2009 wines may have been secondary to excessive vigor. Four Pinot Noirs are currently released, three of which are estate

Of the 2009 Privé "Le Sud" Yamhill County Pinot Noir ,Mark and Tina Hammond purchased a small vineyard in 1995 that was originally planted to Muller-Thurgau. Four Pinot Noir

The final blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Cabernet Franc and the rest Petit Verdot and Merlot reveals an inky/purple color as well as a gorgeous nose of graphite, creme de cassis, cedarwood, Christmas fruitcake, bay leaf and a damp forest floor-like character. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 Denner "The Dirt Worshipper" Paso Robles Syrah (95RP, 93VN, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Dirt Worshipper is one of the most exciting, viscerally thrilling wines I tasted in Paso Robles this year. It boasts stunning richness and power from start to finish, with expressive aromatics, intense fruit and fabulous overall balance. Varietal notes develop on the finish, but the wine needs at least another year to become fully expressive. The use of 25% whole clusters and the addition of 7% Viognier keeps the wine light on its feet (in relative terms), something the Syrahs from Paso often struggle with. The 2010 spent 16 months in French oak barrels, only 10% new. This is a great showing from Denner. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2020. (AG)" (08/2012)
