Urgent high-pitched aromas of violet, spices and blood orange are complemented by lower-toned game and leather. At once dense and precise, displaying superb cut to its flavors of minerals, rose petal and blood orange. Wonderfully high-pitched, fresh and long on the aftertaste. Again, Gevrey in a Chambolle style. (ST)" (03/2014)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Sumptuous aromas of violets, blackberries, and bilberries explode from the medium to dark ruby-colored 2001 Musigny. A wine of amazing purity and elegance, it reverberates on the palate revealing broad layers of floral dark fruit flavors. Lush yet superbly delineated, this medium-bodied effort is expressive, complex, and dignified. Its prolonged, succulent finish exhibits waves of raspberry fruit and loads of ripe, supple tannin. 2012 Domaine de Montille Nuits-St-Georges 1er Cru "Les Thorey"
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2012 Domaine de Montille Nuits-St-Georges 1er Cru "Les Thorey" ((92-94RP), (90-92BH), (90-92ST)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Nuits Saint Georges 1er Cru Les Thorey comes from the domaine’s 0.73-hectare parcel. This vintage is 100% whole cluster and sees around 50% new oak. It has an earthy, mushroom and dried blood-scented bouquet that is very engaging and well-defined. The palate is firm and grippy on the entry. This is very concentrated with a fine bead of acidity, yet the grip is gentle and not imposing. The swagger demonstrated at this nascent stage suggests that this may evolve into one of Domaine de Montille’s finest 2012. (NM)" (12/2013)

Bid on this bottle of 2004 Domaine Leroy Gevrey-Chambertin (95BH, 90ST). A stunner of a wine that has complexity to burn. (AM)" (04/2006)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2012 Domaine des Comtes Lafon Meursault 1er Cru "Charmes" (95RP, 94BH, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: " Tasted blind at the Burgundy 2012 tasting in Beaune. The 2012 Meursault 1er Cru Charmes from Dominique Lafon has a beautiful nose with lemon thyme, lime flower, mineral scents that are just so neatly poised and delineated. The palate has exquisite balance, perfectly judged acidity, wonderful poise and sustain in the mouth. This is exactly what you would seek from a top flight Meursault Charmes that will repay long-term cellaring. Dominique just nailed this one. (NM)" (10/2015)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Violets, roses, raspberries, and red cherries emanate from the 2003 Richebourg. Full-bodied, deep, and hugely concentrated, it is muscular, firm and displays the firmest structure of the Domaine de la Romanee-Conti’s 2003s. Soy sauce, tar, chocolate, and dark fruits are found in its focused, audacious personality. Its impressively persistent finish is studded with highly present tannin." (08/2005)

1998 Domaine Jean-Louis Chave Hermitage
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1998 Domaine Jean-Louis Chave Hermitage (95RP, 95WE, 94ST, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1998 Hermitage is also gorgeous, yet has more concentration and depth. Described as a 'granite year' by Jean-Louis, this puppy has searing, liquid rock-like qualities to go with ample dark fruit, gunpowder and flint. Structured, firm and backward, yet with a rock-star mid-palate and finish, give it another 3-5 years and drink bottles through 2028. Located in the tiny village of Mauves, just south of Hermitage, lies one of the true bastilles of traditionally made wines, and there are few vinous experiences that surpass getting to taste through the different terroirs of Hermitage and Saint Joseph in Chave’s cellar... 95+ (JD)" (08/2014)

The buried supporting tannins are quite fine and I like the sense of energy on the impressively long finish. An unusually elegant Bonnes Mares. Drink: 2021+" (01/2012)

2003 E. Guigal "La Mouline" Côte-Rôtie
Bid on this bottle of 2003 E. Guigal "La Mouline" Côte-Rôtie (100RP, 99WS, (96-97ST), 96WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: " Always the most forward, the 2003 Cote Rotie La Mouline incorporates a whopping 11% Viognier and spent 48 months in new barrels. Heavenly stuff, with sweet cassis, kirsch, roasted meats and exotic spice and floral-driven aromas and flavors, it’s massive and voluptuous on the palate, with no hard edges, thrilling concentration and a finish to die for. It’s the texture that sets this cuvee apart, and it’s as good as it gets. I was able to taste the 1999 La Mouline just prior to this, and this 2003 is every bit as good, if not better. Still a baby, enjoy it anytime over the coming two decades. (JD)" (04/2014)

2011 Marcassin "Marcassin Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2011 Marcassin "Marcassin Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (92RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2011 Pinot Noir Marcassin Vineyard has sweet berry fruit, roasted herbs, incense, a touch of background wood spice and foresty notes all present in this medium-bodied, slightly lighter style of Pinot Noir from Marcassin. This was a challenging vintage, but the wines turned out outstanding, and very Burgundian. The alcohol is 13.9%, which is one of their lowest sugar levels. The wine presents a very attractive, moderately intense perfume, good acidity and excellent precision. (RP)" (08/2015)

Extraordinarily ripe, aromatic nose of dark berries, minerals, iron, tobacco and truffle. Superripe in the mouth; like an essence of red and black berries. Wonderfully concentrated for the vintage, and more typically Chambolle than the young 2000." (04/2002)

Of the 2014 Cayuse "Camaspelo" Walla Walla Valley Bordeaux Blend,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "Made from 79% Cabernet Sauvignon and 21% Merlot that’s aging in 30% new French oak puncheons, the 2014 Camaspelo offers lots of cherry pit, black and blue fruits, violets and spice characteristics in a full-bodied, silky, polished style. 2013 Realm "The Absurd" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this bottle of 2013 Realm "The Absurd" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (100RP, 96JS, 95VN, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Another perfect wine (but very limited in production at 200 cases) is the 2013 The Absurd, a blend of 17 components dominated by 83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Merlot and 6% Cabernet Franc. Winemaker Benoit Touquette told me that this wine is produced with no rules and no restrictions, and is considered their super-blend of the best they have in any given vintage. (I guess I would look stupid if I didn't give it 100 points, given the fact that two other Realm wines already hit that maximum score.) There is something different in this wine, with an opaque purple color for sure, but then there's the cassis, the blackberries, the roasted meats, some spicy pepper, and then an extravagantly rich, cascading palate that seems to be built like a skyscraper, but without one hard edge ... Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2010 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (98RP, 96ST, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Rich, backwards, structured and massively concentrated, the 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon comes mostly from the Champoux Vineyard (also from Galitzine, Klipsun, Palengat and Tapteil) and is comprised of 99% Cabernet Sauvignon and 1% Merlot that spent 22 months in all new French oak. Offering up plenty of creme de cassis, coffee bean, toasted spice, pencil shavings and violet-like qualities on the nose, it has palate staining levels of extract and tannin that come through on the mid-palate and finish. 2013 Hall "Exzellenz" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2013 Hall "Exzellenz" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (100RP, 94VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The last Hall wine I saw from bottle was the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Exzellenz. This hails from the foothills of Rutherford and refers to Kathryn Hall’s ambassadorship to Austria between 1997 and 2001. A prodigious wine with beautiful floral notes intermingled with blueberry, blackberry, black raspberry and graphite, the wine hits the palate with a full-bodied force, but nothing seems pushed, cloying or out of sync. Gorgeously pure blue and black fruits cascade over the palate, a full-bodied presentation with remarkable purity and complexity. The finish is a good 45-50 seconds, and while there is significant tannin, the extravagance of the fruit and glycerin generally conceal it. This is a remarkable, one-of-a-kind, world class Cabernet Sauvignon that should prove compelling for at least another 30-40+ years. While an old geezer like me could commit infanticid

2013 Buccella Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2013 Buccella Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (96RP, 95JS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "?This is a brilliantly packaged wine, but more importantly, what’s inside the bottle clearly matches the stylish design. A great vintage, the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon from Buccella, which is 93% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Malbec and Petit Verdot, is a stunner. Inky purple, the wine has a glorious nose of graphite and blueberry liqueur, blacker fruits and a touch of oak. Once it hits the palate this is a full-bodied wine with terrific purity, texture, a multidimensional mouthfeel and a long, long finish. Everything is in sync and perfectly aligned in this profound and spectacular 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon. Approachable now, it should continue to drink well for another 20 to 25+ years. (RP)" (12/2016)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2005 Larcis-Ducasse, St-Emilion (100RP, 94CG, 94ST, 94WS, 90W&S). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "With an unbelievable nose of licorice, tapenade, black cherry and blackcurrant liqueur, as well as full body, super-sweet tannin, and astonishing richness and length, this prodigious effort in 2005 announced the resurrection of this great terroir on the slopes near Château Pavie. Dark garnet/plum/purple, this is compelling stuff and drinkable already, but capable of lasting another 25-30 years. This beauty is not to be missed! (RP)" (06/2015)

The wine has an inky, opaque, plum/purple color and a stunningly rich nose of mulberries, bramble berries, blackberries, licorice and incense as well as touches of toast and graphite. Fabulously concentrated and full-bodied, with a multidimensional mouthfeel, this profound Pavie is in mid-adolescence. It should evolve and continue to drink well for at least another 30-40 years. Bid on this bottle of 2006 Sine Qua Non "A Shot in the Dark" Sta. Rita Hills Syrah (100RP, 98WS, 96ST, 95JS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A Shot in the Dark is composed of 96.5% Syrah and 3.5% Viognier from the 11 Confessions Vineyard in the cool Santa Rita Hills. Performing better from bottle than it did from barrel, this prodigious red exhibits incredibly velvety tannins, a seamless style, and no noticeable oak (which is remarkable given the fact it spent 32 months in barrel). Dense purple to the rim with an extraordinary perfume of blueberry pie, blackberries, soy, Asian spices, and hints of forest floor and charcoal, this is a complex, rich, seamless, well-balanced tour de force in winemaking. A full-bodied, exuberant, unabashedly California Syrah, it will offer stunning drinking over the next 10-15+ years. (RP)" (08/2010)

2005 Troplong Mondot, St-Emilion
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2005 Troplong Mondot, St-Emilion (100RP, 98VN, 96ST, 96WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2005 Troplong Mondot is a blend of 90% Merlot and the rest Cabernet Franc. It was emotional tasting this wine, thinking of the late Christine Valette, who made this compelling wine while battling with considerable courage against an insidious disease. It is a great effort and a superstar of the vintage. Dense purple, it offers notes of white chocolate, blackberry, cassis and licorice as well as a hint of truffle and some subtle background oak. Full-bodied, multi-layered, and spectacularly pure and rich, it is a tour de force, and a great tribute to an incredible woman. Remarkably youthful, this wine probably needs another 4-8 years of bottle age, and should keep for 20 or more years. Kudos to the late Christine Valette! (RP)" (06/2015)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2011 Horsepower "Sur Echalas Vineyard" Walla Walla Valley Grenache (OWC - 97RP, 95WE, 94WS) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2011 Grenache Sur Echalas Vineyard is a sensational blend of 100% Grenache that comes all from a vineyard located just to the west of Cayuse’s Armada Vineyard. Planted to 4,840 vines per acre, it’s farmed completely by horse. Showing every bit as well from bottle as from barrel, it offers up layers of pepper, smoked herbs, gunpowder and black fruits to go with a deep, structured style on the palate. Incredibly concentrated, especially in the vintage, it has a gracefully, balanced feel before firming up substantially on the finish. Give this beauty 2-3 years of bottle age and enjoy over the following decade. Bid on this bottle of 2008 Domaine Roulot Meursault 1er Cru "Les Perrieres". (92WS, 92BH, 91ST). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "*Outstanding* There is still a trace of mild reduction that only marginally detracts from the appeal of the otherwise pretty aromas of acacia blossom, spiced pear and wet stone aromas. The delicious, gorgeously elegant and pure flavors possess a silky palate impression on the concentrated, explosive and stunningly long finish that seems to be composed of liquid rock. 2008&2009 Screaming Eagle "Second Flight" Napa Valley Proprietary Red Vertical
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2008&2009 Screaming Eagle "Second Flight" Napa Valley Proprietary Red Vertical, including 1-bottle of 2008 Screaming Eagle "Second Flight" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (92RP) and 1-bottle of 2009 Screaming Eagle "Second Flight" Napa Valley Proprietary Red (93VN). Of the 2009 Screaming Eagle "Second Flight" Napa Valley Proprietary Red,Vinous writes: "A beautiful expression of the year, the 2009 Second Flight emerges from the glass with intense layers of fruit in a style that very much recalls Screaming Eagle. Today, the 2009 comes across as a bit more structured and tannic than previous efforts. Some of that may be the vintage, but I imagine the addition of 9% Cabernet Franc over Merlot to the blend is also a contributing factor. Either way, the 2009 is a striking Second Flight endowed with serious depth, purity and finesse. Sweet red berries, crushed flowers and sweet spices are some of the many nuances that are woven together in this appealing, totally delici

Crushed flowers, sweet red berries, mint, pine and cinnamon are some of the signatures. Open-knit and medium in body, the Maiden is racy and super-polished to the core. It is feminine, lifted in style and well-suited to near-term drinking. (AG)" (10/2015)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2008 World's End "Crossfire-Beckstoffer Missouri Hopper Vineyard" Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon (OWC - 90ST) in original wood. Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Red-ruby. Blackberry, black raspberry, licorice, flowers and sexy oak spices on the nose. Juicy and penetrating in the mouth, with terrific verve and a brisk acid impression to the flavors of cranberry, cassis, bitter chocolate and licorice. Almost too much acid here for me. Tannins saturate the entire palate on the dusty finish. 90(+?)" (06/2011)

2009 Domaine Comte Armand Pommard 1er Cru "Clos des Epeneaux"
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2009 Domaine Comte Armand Pommard 1er Cru "Clos des Epeneaux" (94BH, 94VN, 93ST, 91RP). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This is also quite ripe but agreeably fresh with pure aromas of mocha, red currant, cassis, black cherry, warm earth, violets and subtle spice hints. There is good energy to the intense and admirably rich full-bodied flavors that envelope the palate with velvety sap on the beautifully balanced and impressively persistent finish. I very much like the sense of underlying tension because despite this being a big wine with plenty of concentration, the balance is impeccable and there is absolutely nothing ponderous about this complete effort. There is a hint of backend warmth but otherwise, this is really most impressive. Note however that this very firm effort will require plenty of cellar time." (04/2012)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2002 Domaine du Comte Liger-Belair Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru "Aux Reignots" (OWC - 93VN) in original wood. Vinous: "There is enough reduction present to notice and I would thus strongly recommend decanting this first for 20 to 30 minutes. With air the natural spiciness and mineral character of a fine Reignots begins to emerge along with hints of menthol and maturing, but not fully mature, red and black pinot fruit. There is excellent detail and punch to the stony and wonderfully textured medium-bodied flavors that possess impeccable balance on the strikingly persistent finish. While this if far enough along such that it could be enjoyed now if desired, for my taste I would advise holding it for another 4 to perhaps 5 years or so. A lovely example. This is one of the most exciting young reds I have tasted in a long, long time. It shows intense aromas of berries, currants and minerals, with hints of mint. Full-bodied and packed with fruit and tannins, its long finish is refined and silky. A benchmark for the vintage. Dark cherries, crushed flowers, minerals and mint emerge from a beautifully articulated, mid-weight frame. All of the elements are very nicely balanced in this first-class, elegant Latricieres. 2007 Harlan Estate Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this bottle of 2007 Harlan Estate Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (100RP, 97JS, 97ST, 96WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The prodigious 2007 Harlan Estate reminds me of a hypothetical blend of the 2002 with a touch of the controversial 1997. Dense plum/purple-colored with sweet aromas of barbecue smoke, blueberries, blackberries, cassis, licorice, hot rocks and subtle oak, it is a splendidly opulent, pure wine with a skyscraper-like texture as well as stunningly deep fruit that expands gracefully across the palate. The finish lasts nearly a full minute. Because of its overwhelming richness and sweet tannins, this brilliant wine seems to be approachable now, but I suspect further nuances and complexity will emerge after 4-5 years in the bottle. This wine will still be going strong at age 25-30. Like the offerings from its sister estate, Bond, these Harlan Estate offerings are uncompromisingly brilliant examples of Napa viticulture and winemaking at its finest. Kudos to proprietor

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2011 Domaine Emmanuel Rouget Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru "Cros Parantoux" ((91-93BH), 93ST). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright, full medium red. Pungent stony minerality dominates the nose. Juicy and imploded on the palate, with terrific chewy depth and a weightless quality to its intense, lightly saline flavors of dark berries, minerals, spices and flowers. Finishes with palate-staining power and subtle rising length. This vibrant, rather powerful wine is almost painful today, as there's nothing sweet or easy about it. Demands at least six to eight years of cellaring. 93+ points. (ST)" (03/2014)

Allen Meadows - Burghound: "*Don't miss!* This cool and equally fresh and restrained nose offers notably denser and much more complex aromas of red and blue pinot fruit, violets, earth and pungent minerality that is very much in keeping with the backward and ultra primary flavors that are firm, intense and precise, all wrapped in an austere, driving and powerful finish. Jacques Selosse Lieux Dits Blanc de Blancs Extra Brut Les Carelles Le Mesnil sur Oger
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of Jacques Selosse Lieux Dits Blanc de Blancs Extra Brut Les Carelles Le Mesnil sur Oger (97VN). Vinous: "The brighter, more focused side of Chardonnay screams out of the glass in the NV (2008) Le Mesnil sur Oger Les Carelles. Here the flavors are distinctly high-toned, with plenty of citrus peel, white pepper, smoke and slate. Vivid and finely sculpted throughout, with a slightly reductive quality, the Mesnil remains tightly wound and in need of time in bottle. There is an implosive energy that is just waiting to emerge fully. When it does, the Mesnil will be utterly captivating. Actually, it already is. Disgorged February 17, 2015. Dosage is 2 grams/liter. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Aged 24 months in new French oak, this infant 2007 exhibits an inky/purple color along with notes of graphite, spring flowers and smoky oak. This full-bodied, classic Insignia reveals fabulous depth, ripeness, texture, viscosity and richness. Still young and unformed, it should evolve for 25 or more years. Perhaps I should just go ahead and give this 2007 a three-digit score as it is a profoundly great Cabernet Sauvignon-based effort...one of the top Insignias yet produced. (RP)" (11/2013)

Of the 2012 Kosta Browne "4-Barrel" California Pinot Noir,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "Easily the most rich and decadent in the lineup, with sweet oak interwoven through its cassis, black cherry, licorice, ground herbs, flowers and spice-driven aromas and flavors, the 2012 Pinot Noir 4 Barrel is full-bodied, concentrated and layered, with a stacked mid-palate, beautiful overall freshness and a fabulous finish. Despite the overall size and richness here, it stays elegant, lively and fresh, with no hard edges and a seamless feel that carries all the way through the finish. Today it comes across as rather tightly wound and implosive, although with air the wine’s potential becomes more evident. Dark cherries, licorice and smoke wrap around the intense finish.
