2006 Domaine Leroy Bourgogne Aligote
Bid on this bottle of 2006 Domaine Leroy Bourgogne Aligote. Many people think of white Burgundy as being purely Chardonnay-based. While Chardonnay may be the most famous white varietal in Burgundy, there is another: Aligoté. Recorded in Burgundy in the 1700s, Aligoté was once widely planted, but almost died out in the early 20th century after the 19th century phylloxera epidemic wiped out most of the vineyards. It is undergoing a renaissance in the 21st century, however; Aubert DeVillaine, proprietor of the Domaine de la Romanée-Conti believes so fervently in this grape that he fought for—and won—an all-Aligoté appellation in Bouzeron.

2003 Sine Qua Non "Papa" Central Coast Syrah
Bid on this bottle of 2003 Sine Qua Non "Papa" Central Coast Syrah (98RP, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "There are 860 cases of the 2003 Papa, a blend of 97% Syrah, 2% Mourvedre, and 1% Grenache sourced from six different vineyards. An old black and white photograph of Manfred Krankl’s father holding a baby with a head the size of a large watermelon (presumably Manfred) serves as the label for this wine, which has just about everything one could want in a great Syrah. It exhibits extraordinary power and richness along with large quantities of sexy, seductive cassis, black cherries, and a chocolaty undertone. Unctuously textured, rich, and full, it will provide amazing drinking over the next 10-15 years. (RP)" (08/2006)

2005 Etienne Sauzet Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru
Bid on this bottle of 2005 Etienne Sauzet Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru (95ST, 92BH). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Very ripe, sweet nose combines citrus scents, marzipan and crushed stone. Suave, sweet and utterly mouthfilling, with an essence-of-orange fruit flavor complicated by a note of almond. This has compelling volume and density but the ripe acidity gives it shape and precision. More fruits than flowers today. Still a bit youthfully tight on the very long, almost painful finish. Offers great potential. I got the impression that this was Boudot's favorite wine of the vintage. (ST)" (10/2007)

Bid on this magnum lot of 2003 Montrose, St-Estèphe (1.5L) (99RP, 97JS, 96ST, 95WE, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A candidate for a perfect score, the 2003 Montrose has been a superstar since the first time I tasted it in barrel. Showing no signs of weakening, it is an amazing wine from this fabulous terroir. It boasts a deep blue/purple color as well as a stunning perfume of blueberries, black currants, blackberries, licorice and camphor. Dense, full-bodied and rich with an unctuous texture, well-integrated, melted tannins, and a long, heady finish, this big, brawny, super-intense, gorgeous 2003 is just beginning to enter its plateau of full maturity. It should remain there for at least two decades. (RP)" (08/2014)

Bid on this bottle of 1998 Penfolds "Grange" Shiraz South Australia (97JH, 97ST, 97WS, 96RP, 95W&S, 95WE, 94JS). Wine Spectator: "A wine of surprising subtlety for the vintage, playing its ripe cherry, red plum and herb flavors against firm tannins that have a bit of grit to them. But those lively cherry and raspberry flavors burst through, and there's a nice hint of green herbs lingering around the finish, which doesn't subside easily. (HS, Web-2008)"

2007 Chante Cigale Châteauneuf-du-Pape "Vieilles Vignes"
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2007 Chante Cigale Châteauneuf-du-Pape "Vieilles Vignes" (95RP, 92VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The compelling 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape Vieilles Vignes (78% Grenache and the rest Syrah and Mourvedre) is made from 60- to 120-year-old vines. Its dense plum/purple hue is followed by knock-out aromas of incense, crushed pepper, cedar, black currant jam, licorice, and sweet cherries. Voluptuously textured, opulent, and round with well-formed, moderately high tannins that are nearly covered by the wine’s fruit and glycerin, it will easily last 15-20 years in a cold, damp cellar. I wish I saw more of these wines in the marketplace as I have been a big fan of this estate since I first tasted their 1978s. (RP)" (10/2009)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2010 Château Sixtine (Cuvée du Vatican) Châteauneuf-du-Pape (OWC - 96RP, 94WS, 92ST) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Chateau Sixtine Chateauneuf du Pape performed exquisitely and, again, was one of the top wines of the vintage. With better integration of the new oak than I have previously seen from Jean-Marc Diffonty, this wine's opaque ruby/purple color possesses lots of licorice, asphalt, graphite, blackberry and kirsch notes as well as hints of lavender, forest floor and garrigue. This opulent, full-bodied effort is approachable, but it will not hit its full stride for another 2-4 years. It should drink well for 15-20 years thereafter ... (RP)" (10/2012)

Wine Spectator: "**Collectibles, #3 of Top 100 Wines of 2006** Intense blackberry and cherry, with hints of currant. Toasted oak and sweet tobacco too. Roses and other flowers, such as lilacs. Full-bodied, with masses of tannins yet incredibly long and seductive. Best after 2012. (JS)" (03/2006)

2005 Simon Bize et Fils Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru "Aux Vergelesses"
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2005 Simon Bize et Fils Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru "Aux Vergelesses" ((91-93BH), 93RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "From above the eponymous Pernand cru, Bize’s 2005 Savigny-les-Beaune Aux Vergelesses suggests black cherry, blackberry, beet root, and high-toned distillates of black fruit on the nose. With a palate concentration approaching bitterness, this saturates the palate with black fruits, fruit pits, brown spices, beef marrow, and distinctly salty and chalky mineral suggestions. The tannins are quite refined. (And by the way, only 15% new barrels were employed.) Finishing with continued clarity and brightness as well as real grip, it makes a superb case for the inherent complexity of Savigny’s top sites. I would revisit this quintessentially darkly-hued, concentrated 2005 in only three or four years but expect it to evolve interestingly for a dozen.(David Schildknecht, Reviewer)" (06/2007)

2000 Domaine de la Charbonniere "Les Hauts Brusquieres Cuvée Speciale" Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2000 Domaine de la Charbonniere "Les Hauts Brusquieres Cuvée Speciale" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (94RP, 90ST, 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Speciale Les Hautes Brusquieres, all from a single vineyard parcel planted high on the plateau of Chateauneuf du Pape, behind the village, is made from 100% destemmed Grenache (60%) and Syrah (40%). Malolactic fermentation occurs in both foudre and barrel, and more new oak is utilized. In contrast to the 2001, the 2000 Chateauneuf du Pape Les Hautes Brusquieres possesses a dense ruby/purple color and pungent, peppery, garrigue aromas intermixed with blackberry, raspberry, and cherry fruit characteristics. This full-bodied offering boasts layers of glycerin, sensational purity, and admirable ripeness. While it does not reveal the color saturation of the 2001, there is similar flavor intensity as well as body. (RP)" (02/2003)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Showing the quality of the vintage, the 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape is an incredible wine. Possessing the classic kirsch liqueur, incense, flowers and licorice aromas and flavors that always show here, it flows onto the palate with a jaw dropping good texture that carries massive amounts of fruit, beautiful mid-palate concentration and a layered, silky feel. 2006 Clos del Rey "Clos del Rey" Languedoc-Roussillon
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2006 Clos del Rey "Clos del Rey" Languedoc-Roussillon (95RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Representing a small barrel-selection (around half new oak) from the material that would otherwise have become Mas del Rey, the 2006 Cotes du Roussillon Clos del Rey displays vividly bright black fruits; a dense, sappy, yet lively palate impression, and a salty, smoky, stony, and stunningly intense finish that manages to be both gripping and infectiously juicy. This needs time in the air to express itself, and as it opens up, the profundity of its fruit and illusive minerality; a bitter sweet, iris-like floral dimension; and above all the wine’s lift and elegance become dramatically evident. There is not an ounce of fat or a touch of cosmetics on this handsome, taut body. Feel free to follow its evolution for a decade at least. (Imagine what the 2007 might be like!) (DS)" (06/2009)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2007 Domaine Saint Siffrein Chateauneuf-du-Pape (94RP, 90ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The finest effort I have yet tasted from this estate, the 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape is composed of 65% Grenache, 15% Syrah, 15% Mourvedre, and 5% Cinsault. Its traditional upbringing included 100% aging in old foudres. Its dense ruby/purple color is followed by a big, sweet, juicy kiss of kirsch liqueur intermixed with blacker fruits, raspberries, licorice, camphor, and hints of lavender and incense. The wine exhibits terrific concentration, full-bodied intensity, and a 45-50-second finish. Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2007 Domaine Senechaux Châteauneuf-du-Pape (94RP, 92WS, 90VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The fabulous 2007 Châteauneuf-du-Pape (a blend of 64% Grenache, 19% Syrah, 15% Mourvedre, and the rest Cinsault and Vaccarese) boasts a deep plum/ruby/purple color as well as a super expressive perfume that represents the essence of Provence. Fresh bouquet garni, roasted Provencal herbs, licorice, black cherries, and black currant aromas soar from the glass of this full-bodied, incredibly deep, savory wine. Juicy and succulent with terrific acidity, freshness, and length, it is accessible now, and should continue to drink well for 12-15 or more years. Stylistically, it shares many attributes with the 1990 and 1997, although in my view it is more elegant than those wines. There is an immediacy about the 2007 that is highly appealing, and which will make the wine accessible relatively early. Layers of fruit build beautifully to an exciting crescendo of aromas and flavors. This is an undeniably sexy Cepparello. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2027 ... (AG)" (06/2012)

About 2,000 cases are produced, and the prodigious 2009 is the finest vintage to date. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Abreu’s first venture with Cabernet Sauvignon was from the Madrona Ranch, which is essentially the lower hillsides of Spring Mountain, just northwest of St. Helena. The dense purple-colored 2006 Madrona Ranch (55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Petit Verdot) is extraordinary. Its nose of charcoal, espresso roast, blackberries, cassis, crushed rocks, and white chocolate is followed by a ripe, pure wine with a fabulous mid-palate texture (a characteristic of all these wines), and good balance as well as length. It will benefit from 2-3 years of cellaring, and keep for 30 years. (RP)" (12/2009)

2004 Chris Ringland Shiraz Three Rivers (1.5L) (OWC)
Bid on this magnum lot of 2004 Chris Ringland Shiraz Three Rivers (1.5L) (OWC - 100RP) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2004 Chris Ringland Shiraz is from another top vintage. Like the other wines, it spent 42 months in new French oak. Aromas of scorched earth, pencil lead, espresso, black currant and blueberry lead to a dense, complex, youthful wine with layer upon layer of succulent fruit, impeccable balance, and a decade of aging potential. Chris Ringland is a relatively modest bloke who gives most of the credit for his extraordinary wines to his nearly 100 year old vineyard. He now has 21 vintages under his belt the results of which place him with Marcel Guigal, Gerard Chave, Christophe Baron, Manfred Krankl, and Michel Chapoutier as the international grandmasters of Syrah/Shiraz. 2009 Screaming Eagle "Second Flight" Napa Valley Proprietary Red
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Screaming Eagle "Second Flight" Napa Valley Proprietary Red (93VN). Vinous: "A beautiful expression of the year, the 2009 Second Flight emerges from the glass with intense layers of fruit in a style that very much recalls Screaming Eagle. Today, the 2009 comes across as a bit more structured and tannic than previous efforts. Some of that may be the vintage, but I imagine the addition of 9% Cabernet Franc over Merlot to the blend is also a contributing factor. Either way, the 2009 is a striking Second Flight endowed with serious depth, purity and finesse. Sweet red berries, crushed flowers and sweet spices are some of the many nuances that are woven together in this appealing, totally delicious wine. (Antonio Galloni)" (12/2012)

1970 Latour, Pauillac (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum lot of 1970 Latour, Pauillac (1.5L) (94VN, 91WS, 90ST). Vinous: "A flight of 1970s that followed (all from magnums) was special, to say the least. The 1970 Chateau Latour was incredibly fresh in its generous expression of fruit, with a full-bodied, intense personality. I thought this bottle was very slightly corked, but I was among the distinct minority in that opinion. (AG)" (11/2007)

2003 Lafite-Rothschild, Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 2003 Lafite-Rothschild, Pauillac (100RP, 98JS, 97WE, 96WS, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2003 Lafite Rothschild comes as close to perfection as any of the great Lafites made over the past three decades (1982, 1986, 1996, 2000, 2005, 2008, 2009 and 2010). This sensational effort came in at 12.7% natural alcohol, it is made in the style of one of this estate’s great classics, the 1959. Composed of 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Merlot and the rest Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, it exhibits a dense ruby/purple color to the rim along with a luxurious bouquet of cedarwood, lead pencil shaving, white chocolate, cocoa and cassis. Fat, rich, opulent and full-bodied with low acidity and stunning seductiveness and complexity, this noble wine possesses a bountiful, generous, heady style. It is just coming into its plateau of maturity where it should hold for 20-25 years. This is one of the candidates for the wine of the vintage – make no mistake about that. (RP)"

Guigal "La Turque" Côte-Rôtie,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "The 2007 Cote Rotie La Turque’s inky/blue/purple color is followed by aromas of asphalt, charcoal, graphite, barbecue smoke, roasted meats/aged beef, blackberries, cassis and violets. With huge body, massive concentration, silky tannins, sweet glycerin and a layered, multidimensional mouthfeel, it can be drunk now or cellared for 25 years. (RP)" (12/2011)

2010 Shafer "Hillside Select" Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2010 Shafer "Hillside Select" Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon (100RP, 98JS, 95VN, 95WE, 95WS, 93CG). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A remarkable wine, the 2010 Shafer Cabernet Sauvignon Hillside Select has gone from strength to strength since it was in cask. It is stunningly rich, with classic, fragrant notes of blackcurrants, blackberries, vanilla, graphite and spring flowers. It exhibits an opaque purple color, with a full-bodied, massive mouthfeel, but no heaviness, and again, a flawless integration of acidity, tannin, alcohol and wood. It’s classic California Cabernet, but beautifully put together, showing impeccable craftsmanship and fabulous potential. This is obviously a very young, infantile style of Cabernet that won’t hit its prime for at least another decade and last close to half a century, based on how older vintages that were less well-endowed have matured from Shafer. 2011 Horsepower "Sur Echalas Vineyard" Walla Walla Valley Grenache (OWC)
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2011 Horsepower "Sur Echalas Vineyard" Walla Walla Valley Grenache (OWC - 97RP, 95WE, 94WS) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2011 Grenache Sur Echalas Vineyard is a sensational blend of 100% Grenache that comes all from a vineyard located just to the west of Cayuse’s Armada Vineyard. Planted to 4,840 vines per acre, it’s farmed completely by horse. Showing every bit as well from bottle as from barrel, it offers up layers of pepper, smoked herbs, gunpowder and black fruits to go with a deep, structured style on the palate. Incredibly concentrated, especially in the vintage, it has a gracefully, balanced feel before firming up substantially on the finish. Give this beauty 2-3 years of bottle age and enjoy over the following decade. Unfortunately, there are only 131 cases of it to go around, so if you get the opportunity to grab some bottles, don’t miss it. (JD)" (06/2014)

2000 Cheval Blanc, St-Emilion
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2000 Cheval Blanc, St-Emilion (99RP, 97WE, 94JS, 94ST, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Coming out of a relatively dormant state, this 2000 is a spectacular Cheval Blanc. Of recent vintages, I think only the 2009 can give it a run for its money. A blend of 53% Merlot and 47% Cabernet Franc, the wine has a sweet nose of menthol, melted licorice, boysenberry, blueberry, and cassis. A broad wine with compelling purity, a layered texture, and sweet tannin, with hints of coffee and earth in the background, this is by far the best Cheval Blanc since 1990 and before 2009. It is a legend in the making and can actually be drunk now, as the tannins have nearly melted away. This is a beauty with incredibly complex aromatics. Drink it over the next 25-30 years. Bid on this 2-magnum lot of 2010 Spottswoode "Family Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (100RP, 95VN, 94ST, 93WS, 91CG). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The brilliant 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon boasts an inky/purple color as well as glorious aromas of spring flowers, lead pencil shavings, licorice and a multitude of wild mountain fruits, in particular black raspberry, blackberry and cassis reminiscent of a French Pauillac (although I always think of Spottswoode as the Chateau Margaux of Napa). With a flawless integration of tannin, wood and acidity, it comes across like a liquid version of haute couture from the house of Chanel. It should drink well young yet age for 25 years. Wine Spectator: " *Collectibles* Smells like chocolate mousse, with crushed raspberry and hints of flowers. Full-bodied, with chewy tannins and a rich, fruity finish. This is powerful and structured Merlot, with layers and layers of everything. Needs time to come around. (JS)" (10/2008)

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2000 Lynch-Bages, Pauillac (97RP, 96WS, 95JS, 95WE, 94ST, 92W&S). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Beginning to open magnificently, the still dense purple-colored 2000 reveals a blossoming bouquet of blackberries, cassis, graphite and pen ink. Full-bodied with velvety tannins that have resolved themselves beautifully over the last eleven years, this wine is still an adolescent, but it exhibits admirable purity, texture, mouthfeel and power combined with elegance. One of the all-time great examples of Lynch Bages, the 2000 is just beginning to drink well yet promises to last for another 20-25+ years. (RP)" (08/2011)

Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 2000 Pichon-Lalande, Pauillac (96RP, 96WE, 95WS, 94ST, 93JS, 92W&S). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: " I find this to be a spectacular Pichon Lalande. Dense purple in color, with loads of coffee, mocha, creme de cassis, and chocolate notes, this is a somewhat unusual blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Merlot, and a whooping 10% Petit Verdot, with a little bit of Cabernet Franc. The Petit Verdot certainly gives the wine more of a tapenade, floral note, which I think can be interpreted by some as herbal. (RP)" (06/2010)

Wine Spectator: "Toast and baking spice notes accent the core of apple and peach in this broad white, driven by vibrant acidity. Citrus comes into play on the finish. The oak needs time to be absorbed. Best from 2015 through 2023. (BS)" (11/2013)

2004 de Vogue Musigny Cuvee Vieilles Vignes (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum lot of 2004 de Vogue Musigny Cuvee Vieilles Vignes (1.5L) (95ST, 93BH). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good deep red. Ineffable aromas of raspberry, crushed stone and flowers. Like liquid silk on entry, then quite tightly wound in the middle, offering great purity and nerve but hiding more than it's showing in the way of flavor today. This has a nearly frightful intensity and superb stony persistence. Due to hail in late August, the yield here was just 20 hectoliters per hectare, compared to 25 in 2005, according to Millet. A highlight of the vintage. When I asked Millet to compare his 2004s to his 2001s, he told me that the acidity in the spine of the 2004s is barely tasteable, as the minerality of the wine dominates. "In comparison, the 2001s are gaining in sensuality and elegance," he said. "But their fresh fruit flavors are still fighting their acidity." (ST)" (03/2007)
