2006 d'Issan, Margaux (1.5L) (OWC)
Bid on this 6-magnum lot of 2006 d'Issan, Margaux (1.5L) (OWC - 94RP, (92-93WE), 92JS) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Now consistently one of the great wines of the appellation, d’Issan has produced a dense purple-colored wine with a beautiful set of aromatics offering a smorgasbord of aromas such as perfumed flowers, incense, graphite, licorice, blueberry, and black currant. The wine is seamlessly constructed, like a fine dress from a haute couture house. With fabulous concentration of fruit, the ethereal elegance and sublime character of this wine make it seem to almost float across the palate with substantial flavor penetration and laser-like focus. This is a gorgeous example of 2006 that can be drunk in 3-4 years or cellared for over two decades. Good value. (RP)" (02/2009)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2000 Lynch-Bages, Pauillac (97RP, 96WS, 95JS, 95WE, 94ST, 92W&S). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Beginning to open magnificently, the still dense purple-colored 2000 reveals a blossoming bouquet of blackberries, cassis, graphite and pen ink. Full-bodied with velvety tannins that have resolved themselves beautifully over the last eleven years, this wine is still an adolescent, but it exhibits admirable purity, texture, mouthfeel and power combined with elegance. One of the all-time great examples of Lynch Bages, the 2000 is just beginning to drink well yet promises to last for another 20-25+ years. (RP)" (08/2011)

Bid on this 12-bottle lot of 2006 d'Armailhac, Pauillac (OWC - 90RP, 90ST) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted at Bordeaux Index's annual 10-Year On tasting in London. The 2006 Château d'Armailhac has a feisty bouquet with tobacco and sage-infused red berry fruit that seem open for business, unlike some of the other 2006 Pauillac wines. The palate is medium-bodied with fine, quite supple tannin. There is good weight in the mouth with mint-infused blackberry fruit, fine structure with admirable precision on the finish. 2009 Dal Forno Romano Valpolicella Superiore
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2009 Dal Forno Romano Valpolicella Superiore (92VN, 91WS). Vinous: "Black cherries, plums, graphite, tapenade, melted road tar and game hits the palate as Romano Dal Forno's 2009 Valpolicella Superiore shows off its personality. The 2009 brings together the signature richness of a wine made from 100% dried fruit with distinctly wild, almost Syrah-like overtones. Inky and intense, with considerable tannic backbone, the 2009 is really more of a junior Amarone than a Valpolicella. Readers will want to give this super-expressive wine another few years in the cellar, but there is a lot to like, even today. (AG)" (07/2015)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2012 Domaine Bruno Clavelier Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru "La Combe d'Orveaux" Vieilles Vignes (93BH, 93VN). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "*** Outstanding *** This is arguably the most elegant wine in the range with its ultra-pure aromas of essence of red pinot fruit, wet stone, anise and dried floral scents. There is an intense minerality to the beautifully well-detailed medium weight flavors that possess a lacy mouth feel yet culminate in a serious, chalky and muscular finish. This delivers flat out terrific length and I really like how the finale fans out. In a word, brilliant." (01/2015)

Bid on this magnum lot of 2010 Smith-Haut-Lafitte Rouge, Pessac-Léognan (1.5L) (98RP, 96WE, 96WS, 95JS, 94VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This is an extraordinary performance once again from the Cathiard family, the proprietors of Smith-Haut-Lafitte. They think the 2010 is even better than the 2009. (I disagree, but only slightly.) This wine has laser-like definition in its an remarkable nose of a subtle charcoal fire interwoven with spring flowers, creme de cassis, blueberry liqueur and spicy wood. Full-bodied, stunningly concentrated, long, rich and moderately tannic, this wine is set for an exceptionally long life of 30-40 years but can be drunk in 5-7. (RP)" (02/2013)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2014 Domaine Bouchard Père et Fils Meursault 1er Cru "Perrières" (94JS, 94RP, 93BH, 91VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2014 Meursault 1er Cru Perrières, raised in a judicious 15% new French oak, has a powerful, punchy bouquet that puts the Genevrières 2014 in the shade. This races out of the blocks with dried pineapple, citrus and stony notes, quite extravagant and whilst not delivering the same killer level of mineralité as others, it does put a smile on your face. The palate is well balanced with a keen line of acidity, just a hint of lemon zest flanked by dried apricot and grilled walnut notes. It gambols along to what feels like quite an intense finish. This is excellent...brash but excellent. (NM) " (01/2016)

Bid on this magnum lot of 2010 Pontet-Canet, Pauillac (1.5L) (100JS, 100RP, 98WE, (94-97ST), 97WS, 95VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: " ... The freshness, laser-like precision, and full-bodied, massive richness and extract are simply remarkable to behold and experience. It is very easy, to become jaded tasting such great wines from a great vintage, but it is really a privilege to taste something as amazing as this. Unfortunately, it needs a good decade of cellaring, and that’s assuming it doesn’t close down over the next few years. This is a 50- to 75-year wine from one of the half-dozen or so most compulsive and obsessive proprietors in all of Bordeaux. Is there anything that proprietor Alfred Tesseron is not doing right? Talk about an estate that is on top of its game! Pontet-Canet’s 2010 is a more structured, tannic and restrained version of their most recent perfect wine, the 2009. Kudos to Pontet-Canet! 2014 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2014 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (100RP, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon is another tour de force from this estate that's reminiscent of first growth Bordeaux from a vintage like 2009. Made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon and aged in new barrels, it offers incredible notes of blackcurrants, graphite, lead pencil shavings and crushed rocks in a full-bodied, decadent, insanely layered and seamless style. This beauty possesses ultra-fine tannin, no hard edges and a forward, already hard to resist style, yet it's going to keep for more than two decades. (JS)" (06/2017)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2010 Domaine Perrot-Minot Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru "Les Fuées" Vieilles Vignes ((90-93ST)). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good full medium red. Reticent nose offers strawberry, raspberry and coffee scents perked up by pepper and herbs. Sweet on entry, then taut and vibrant in the middle, and a bit spikier than the Charmes. Strong minerality and an impression of peppery acidity suggest that this wine will require time in bottle to come into harmony. (ST)" (01/2012)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2008 Ducru-Beaucaillou, St-Julien (OWC - 95RP, 94JS, 94WE, 92ST, 92WS) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the stars of the vintage, and a remarkable achievement in 2008, with impressive richness, this dense purple colored wine is almost as opaque as the 2010. Spring flowers, crushed rocks, creme de cassis and some subtle oak are followed by a full-bodied, concentrated wine that transcends the vintage character in its power, richness, and aging potential. It also exhibits tremendous precision, purity, and depth of character. It is more forward than the 2010 is likely to be, but probably not as sumptuous as the 2009 will turn out to be. Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2011 Domaine Robert Chevillon Nuits-St-Georges 1er Cru "Les Cailles" ((92-94BH), 92ST, 90RP). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "As complex as the Pruliers is, the Les Cailles ratchets it up yet another notch with its spicy and pure blend of cassis, plum, violet and distinct iron-infused earth. There is excellent richness to the cool and equally pure medium-bodied flavors that possess excellent focus on the explosively long finish. The tannins are dense but quite fine and this offers outstanding upside development potential. *Sweet Spot, Outstanding* " (01/2013)

Turns a little darker on the finish, with a coating of bittersweet cocoa powder and roasted vanilla bean accents, while the minerality stays buried for now. 2009 Sine Qua Non "Upside Down" Grenache
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Sine Qua Non "Upside Down" Grenache (96RP, 95ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Grenache Upside Down emerges from the glass with layers of dark red fruit as it sweeps across the palate. There is an inner sweetness and sheer depth that make the 2009 compelling. The 11% Syrah and 5% Mourvedre make themselves heard clearly in adding layers of depth and pure richness. Tar, anise and graphite meld together on the rich, dramatic finish. This is a striking wine endowed with tons of pure textural dimension. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Deep plum/purple, Haut-Bailly's 2010 required some coaxing to appreciate its subtle notes of barbecue smoke, lead pencil shavings and creme de cassis as well as its touches of pomegranate and forest floor. The oak is pushed far into the background and the tannins are extremely silky, but the intensity of the wine is profound and the finish lingers for close to 55 seconds. This wine is ripe yet delicate, powerful yet stylish, and essentially resembles a remarkable fashion design from a house of haute couture. This wine needs a good 7-8 years of bottle age and should keep for 40-50+ years. (RP)" (02/2013)

Blackberry, black raspberry, blueberry, and cassis aromas intermixed with notes of crushed rocks, spring flowers, and toasty new oak are found in this beauty. Outstanding intensity along with full-bodied power and beautifully integrated acids, tannins, alcohol, and wood suggest this 2007 should hit its peak in 5-7 years, and evolve for three decades or more. The wine has an inky, opaque, plum/purple color and a stunningly rich nose of mulberries, bramble berries, blackberries, licorice and incense as well as touches of toast and graphite. Fabulously concentrated and full-bodied, with a multidimensional mouthfeel, this profound Pavie is in mid-adolescence. It should evolve and continue to drink well for at least another 30-40 years. The palate is medium-bodied, slightly coarse tannin on the entry, foursquare and masculine, touches of green pepper towards the finish that shows commendable weight. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Leading off the 2014s from barrel, the 2014 Grenache Shakti (88% Grenache, 6% Mourvedre, 4% Petite Sirah and the rest Touriga Nacionale) comes largely from the Cumulus Vineyard, with smaller portions from Eleven Confessions, the Third Twin and Bien Nacido. Aged almost entirely in neutral barrels (6% new), it has a supple, sexy profile as well as killer base notes of black raspberries, cassis, ground herbs and violets. Deep, concentrated, full-bodied and laced with sweet tannin, I continue to be baffled why so few people in California get close to this level of quality with Grenache. (JD)" (08/2016)

2009&2012 Shafer Napa Valley Merlot Tasting Lot

Of the 2009 Shafer Napa Valley Merlot,Connoisseurs Guide writes: " *Two Stars* It seems that Shafer can be counted on year in and year out for some of the richer, well-filled Merlots to be had, and this latest, while not wanting for ripeness, stands again with the best of the vintage. It leads with very deep aromas of black cherries, root beer and sweet cream, and its very like-minded flavors are as concentrated as they are juicy. Some might quibble about a touch of eleventh-hour heat, but we find it a small price to pay for this kind of richness and real fruity depth." (09/2012)

Bid on this magnum lot of 2012 Aubert "Eastside Vineyard" Russian River Valley Chardonnay (1.5L) (99RP, 95VN, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Chardonnay East Side, a vineyard owned by top viticulturist Ulises Valdez, is a 1,000-case cuvee that reveals a liquified wet stone character intermixed with notes of white currants, quince, honeysuckle, pineapple and peach marmalade. Bid on this magnum lot of 2015 Booker "Oublie" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (1.5L) (94RP, 94RR). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Composed of 38% Mourvèdre, 30% Grenache, 23% Syrah and 9% Counoise, the 2015 Oublie has a medium garnet-purple color and earth-scented nose of tar, sautéed herbs and fertile loam with a core of red currants, cranberry sauce and warm blackberries, plus a touch of bay leaves. 2012 Il Poggione Brunello di Montalcino (1.5L) (OWC)
Bid on this magnum lot of 2012 Il Poggione Brunello di Montalcino (1.5L) (OWC - 95RP, 93JS, 93VN, 93WE, 92WS) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Il Poggione is a Brunello superstar and a vintage like this reveals every reason why that affirmation is true. From the second the 2012 Brunello di Montalcino pours into the glass, you know you are in for something special. The wine is darkly saturated and rich in appearance. Absent are those slightly amber or browning hues you often get with Sangiovese in a hot vintage. Nor does the wine show flat or tired characteristics. Instead, the quality of fruit is vibrant and rich. This is a healthy, generous and exuberant Brunello with dark density and succulent fruit flavors that are followed by integrated spice and tobacco. The balance is impressive and one thing you get here is fresh acidity. This is not to be underestimated, because the acidity quota in the 2012 vintage across the appellation is not as high or evident as usual. Thi

2007 Kongsgaard Napa Valley Chardonnay
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2007 Kongsgaard Napa Valley Chardonnay (95RP, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Chardonnay possesses abundant aromas of white peaches, citrus blossoms, crushed rocks (think liquid minerality), and honeyed tropical fruit presented in a full-bodied wine with good acidity, depth, and length. It should drink well for a decade. From a top vintage for proprietor/winemaker John Kongsgaard, the 2007 Chardonnays are among the finest he has made to date. 2001 Pride Mountain Sonoma County Cabernet Franc
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2001 Pride Mountain Sonoma County Cabernet Franc (93W&S, 92RP, 91VN, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The fully mature 2001 Cabernet Franc is a blend of 75% Cabernet Franc and 25% Merlot offering an intriguing nose of tree bark, mushrooms, earth and spice (reminiscent of some California Mourvedres). It stands out as a very different animal when tasted in the company of Pride’s Merlots and Cabernet Sauvignons. It reveals more oak than its siblings, and with prolonged aeration, pure, dark fruit characteristics as well as an underbrush, foresty component emerge. I suspect it is a “love it or leave it” style of wine. I was actually indifferent to it on first sip, but with airing, the wine grew incrementally, becoming very impressive, so don’t jump to conclusions and discount it. It should drink well for another 7-8 years. These impressive 2001s from Pride Mountain Vineyards were made during the regime of Bob Foley and the late Jim Pride. (RP)" (6/2011)
