Bid on this bottle of 2013 Aubert "UV-SL Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay (96VN, (92-94RP), 92WS). Vinous: "Dried pear, apricot pit, spices and crushed rocks blossom in the 2013 Chardonnay UV-SL Vineyard. Here the flavors are vivid, nuanced and resonant to the core. Brighter, saline-infused notes emerge as the wine opens up in the glass. This is another striking Chardonnay endowed with magnificent balance of generous fruit and explosive energy. Readers can look forward to a decade-plus of exceptional drinking. (AG)" (01/2015)

Bid on this bottle of 2009 Domaine Confuron-Cotetidot Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru "Suchots" (93ST, 91BH). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good bright, deep red. Deep, complex nose dominated by raspberry and spices. Creamy and concentrated, even voluptuous, but with the whole-cluster vinification energizing the very dense middle palate and accentuating the wine's structure. The tannins reach the front teeth on the very long whiplash of a finish. This is always a superb bottling. (ST) 93+" (03/2013)

2009 Delas Frères "Francois de Tournon" St-Joseph
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2009 Delas Frères "Francois de Tournon" St-Joseph (94RP, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 St.-Joseph Francois de Tournon is showing even better than it did last year out of barrel. An inky/purple color is followed by notes of graphite, smoke, blackberries, cassis, road tar and truffles. With layers of fruit, an unctuous texture and tremendous purity and depth, this stunning effort is a great sleeper of this fabulous northern Rhone vintage. It should drink well for 10-15 years or longer. (RP)" (12/2011)

Bid on this half-bottle lot of 2005 Domaine Weinbach Altenbourg Pinot Gris "Quintessence de Grains Nobles Cuvee d'Or" (375ml) (97ST, 95RP, 93WS). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "(10% alcohol, 174 g/l r.s. and 8.9 acidity) Pure botrytis nose dominated by tangy crystallized orange and lemon peel. Wonderfully sweet but cut by sharp citrussy acidity that gives this extremely unevolved wine an almost painful quality today. It's remarkable that the varietal character comes through so clearly at this level of ripeness. The bracing finish mounts inexorably and goes on for minutes. An extraordinary sweet wine, likely to last for two or three decades. (ST)" (11/2008)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "If I had to pick one straight Chablis that captures the essence of the 2010 vintage, it would be Raveneau’s 2010 Chablis hands down. This is an especially big, broad shouldered Chablis that covers every inch of the palate while capturing the essence of the vintage and the Raveneau house style in full. 2011 Aubert "UV-SL Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Bid on this bottle of 2011 Aubert "UV-SL Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (96RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Aubert's 2011 Pinot Noir UV-SL Vineyard is easily the most refined of the wines in this range of Pinots. Intensely perfumed and layered -- but not at all heavy -- the UV-SL has all its elements in perfect balance. Savory herbs, licorice, mint, plums and black cherries all come to life in the glass, but ultimately, the 2011 stands out most for its silkiness, grace and exceptional overall balance. Expressive floral notes add considerable freshness on the close. (AG)" (04/2013)

2009 Domaine Joseph Roty Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru "Les Fontenys"
Bid on this bottle of 2009 Domaine Joseph Roty Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru "Les Fontenys" (93JG, 92BH, 92ST). John Gilman: "The old vines in Fontenys can often produce a rather dense style of wine when young, but this has not been the case with this lovely 2008 and 2009 versions chez Roty. The wine offers up an impressive degree of transparency on both the nose and palate, with the bouquet providing lovely aromatic fireworks of plums, black cherries, coffee, grilled meat, fresh herb tones, a very clear base of dark soil tones, woodsmoke and nutty new oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and quite plush on the attack, with a sappy core of fruit, impressive soil drive, ripe tannins and superb length and grip on the focused and classy finish. Perhaps these last two vintages are the best young examples of Roty Fontenys I have ever had the pleasure to taste! " (06/2012)

Bid on this 500 ml 1-bottle lot of 2003 Huët "Cuvée Constance" Vouvray Moelleux (500ml) (100RP, 98WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The color of the 2003 Vouvray Moelleux Cuvée Constance (poured from the 500 ml bottle) is as golden-orange as is the small paper strip label. On the nose this wine is an unreal beauty, combining perfect fruit ripeness and concentration with precision, finesse and spicy/mineral flavors that are quite rare in sweet wines of this top level. Smooth, nobly elegant, perfectly balanced and highly intense on the palate, this is a wine to die for. Its finesse and weightless intensity is beyond worth. Surely the finest Huet I ever tasted. The Domaine Huet in Vouvray is one of the few world class producers in the Loire Valley. Its reputation was built by 1910-born Gaston Huet and the Le Haut Lieu, a top single vineyard site that was bought by his parents in 1928 with three hectares under vines, all Chenin Blanc. Bid on this bottle of 2010 Jean-Noël Gagnard Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru "Les Caillerets" ((92-94BH), 94VN). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "As is often the case, this possesses the most elegant nose of the range with its attractively layered aromas of lemon-lime, pear, white flower and wet stone hints where the latter element can also be found on the pure and impressively concentrated medium-bodied flavors. The mouth feel is at once suave yet precise and I very much admire the intensity and sense of underlying tension on the citrusy, long and bone dry finish. Aromas of strawberry, raspberry, rose and lavender, complicated by subtle florality. Strikingly spicy and fresh, with vibrant red berry flavors and slow-building sweetness. Becomes deeper on the finish, which leaves a trail of cherry and berry fruit in its wake. Pretty wine, with a seductively juicy character and good clarity. (ST)" (05/2008)

This is a bigger wine and close to 2% higher in alcohol at 15.5%. There are 11,000 cases of this big, full-bodied, boisterous Cabernet Sauvignon that has a dense ruby/purple color, notes of underbrush, forest floor, tobacco leaf and oodles of blackcurrants and black cherries, with a touch of woodsmoke. Of the 1979 Duckhorn Napa Valley Merlot, While many of California's young wineries, especially those in the Napa Valley, chose to focus their energy on Cabernet Sauvignon, Dan and Margaret Duckhorn bucked the trend, devoting a lot of energy to Merlot as a stand-alone wine, not just as a blending grape.

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Around 60% of the crop that informed Bouchard’s 2008 Volnay Caillerets Ancien Cuvee Carnot was spared by the July hail, and around 40% of that remainder declassified. But these circumstances still leave 8-9,000 bottles worth, which I tasted from tank. Musky narcissus, smoky Lapsang black tea, and black fruits on the nose lead to a silken-textured yet invigorating, subtly tart but berry-ripe palate suffused with chalk and savory salinity. This finishes with precisely the sort of “animated interchange of fruit, mineral, and inner-mouth floral elements” I credited to the 2006, and here the effect is both strikingly buoyant and positively reverberative. A bottle opened 24 hours earlier (for Michel Bettane, as it happens) had not lost any of its allure. I would look for at least 15 years of excitement. (DS)"

Bid on this bottle of 2005 Hospices de Beaune (Maison Louis Jadot) Corton-Cuvée Charlotte-Dumay Grand Cru (91BH). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "There is enough reduction present to warrant decanting this if you insist on committing infanticide! Otherwise the very rich and full-bodied flavors possess excellent mid-palate concentration where the supporting tannins are markedly firm on the sappy and palate coating finish. This is going to required extended cellaring as it's presently very backward, indeed to the point where I wouldn't think about touching a bottle for at least 5 years and 10 would probably be necessary." 2011 Dominio de Pingus "Psi" Ribera del Duero
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2011 Dominio de Pingus "Psi" Ribera del Duero (91RP, 91VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2011 PSI is pure Tempranillo from a diversity of small plots of old vineyards in different zones of the Burgos province, always north of the Duero river. The grapes fermented in cement vats and aged in a combination of used barrels from Pingus, oak vats and cement tanks. It is a bright ruby red, with notes of plums and very well-integrated wood. But what really surprised me is the palate: still medium-bodied, somehow austere and lineal, straight rather than round, not showing the warmth of the vintage or alcohol at all. It only shows some toasty notes that are not excessive and that should disappear with a bit of time in the bottle. 160,000 bottles were produced. (LG)" (08/2014)

Layers of soft, expressive fruit caress the palate in this radiant, pleasing Taurasi. Some of the wine's accessibility has been achieved with a loss of varietal character, at least at this early stage in the wine's development. The team from Pontet Canet, who have done such a phenomenal job at that estate, were in charge of making this Senejac, and the result, not surprisingly, is a sensational wine that consumers need to buy by the case. Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2008 Tenuta Terre Nere "Santo Spirito" Etna Rosso (95RP, 92WE, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2008 Etna Rosso Santo Spirito is dark, inviting and exceptionally polished. The big tannins are there, but here there is so much sheer density in the fruit that the wine's structural components are barely noticeable. This shows marvelous intensity all the way through to the dark, harmonious finish. Licorice, tar, and smoke add the final dimensions of complexity. The Santo Spirito was aged in a combination of French oak barrique, tonneau and cask, in roughly equal proportions. This is one of the more sensual of the 2008s here. Anticipated maturity: 2018-2028. 1980 Duckhorn Napa Valley Merlot
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1980 Duckhorn Napa Valley Merlot. Connoisseurs Guide: "Duckhorn’s early insistence that it make Three Palms Merlot only in magical years caused them to declassify the wine once again and put it in this blend where it constitutes the largest portion of the Merlot. The wine departs from the early Duckhorn style by being very ripe and fleshy with a frame of acid and tannin that still holds and rivals most Cabernets of the vintage. There is a hint in this wine that ripe Merlots might age well." (10/2002)

The palate impression is presently equally restrained with focused and well-detailed medium-bodied flavors that possess superb richness yet no lack of energy. There is first-rate purity and transparency to the highly complex, balanced and seriously long mineral-driven finish that displays just a touch of youthful asperity. Offering up notions of sweet cherries, strawberry, underbrush, crushed flowers and chalky minerality, it has a massive mid-palate, incredible purity and a seamless, elegant overall profile. This is not quite as refined as the Feusselottes but displays a bit more complexity. A qualitative choice." (01/2012)

Of the 2009 Domaine Geantet-Pansiot Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes,Allen Meadows - Burghound writes: "A relatively expressive nose of wild red berries, blue berry liqueur and earth undertones that are also reflected by the bigger and notably more robust medium-bodied flavors blessed with ample amounts of extract and an attractive touch of minerality on the seriously long and ever-so-mildly austere finish. 2009 Domaine Lucien Boillot Volnay 1er Cru "Caillerets"
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Domaine Lucien Boillot Volnay 1er Cru "Caillerets". Allen Meadows writes: "Pierre Boillot has taken his respective half (7 ha) of Domaine Lucien Boillot and will keep his father's name while his brother Louis has created a new domaine by the name of Louis Boillot et Fils. Pierre told me that he will not change a great deal though he did note that he wants to create more supple and forward wines that have less extraction and that will mature over a 3 to 4 year horizon. Other than that, he stressed that it will be traditional vinification and élevage."

2013 Domaine Marc Colin St-Aubin 1er Cru "En Montceau"
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2013 Domaine Marc Colin St-Aubin 1er Cru "En Montceau" (91RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted blind at the annual “Burgfest” tasting in Bouilland. The 2013 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru En Montceau has a reserved nose, one that is stubbornly backward, but with time I can see this opening and delivering granitic-like aromas, a light sea spray influence in the background. The palate is fresh on the entry with green apple, kiwi fruit and grapefruit, nicely balanced, pretty with a bit of oak to be subsumed on the saline finish, so afford this another year in bottle. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2005 Domaine Pavelot (Jean-Marc & Hughes) Pernand-Vergelesses "Les Vergelesses" ((90-92BH), (87-90ST)). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A very fresh and in contrast to several wines in the portfolio, highly expressive nose that combines notes of earth, spice, underbrush, smoke and broad crushed fruit aromas that dissolve into rich, structured and intense medium full flavors that are quite firm but not tough, all wrapped in a minerally, long and moderately austere finish. Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2011 Huët "Clos du Bourg" Vouvray Sec. Jancis Robinson: "The clues here were that it smelled as though it was going to be sweet but on the palate was dry with notably high acidity and honey and toast aromas. It was much firmer, more concentrated and presumably longer lasting than the average commercial Vouvray. 17/20 points." (02/2013)

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2014 Thierry Germain (des Roches Neuves) Saumur-Champigny "Clos de l’Echelier" Rouge (92RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "From a 1.8-hectare plot straight adjacent to the Loire, the dark crimson colored 2014 Clos de l'Échelier has a nobly intense and concentrated, yet precise and pure bouquet of perfectly ripe dark fruits along with spicy flavors of hot stones, graphite and cigar box. Full-bodied, silky textured and super juicy, but also pure and fresh, this is a hymn to Cabernet Franc and an extremely great drinking pleasure. it has fine tannins and a Burgundian finesse. Served from a black glass and at the right temperature of 14-16° Celsius, you would probably not know if it is a red or a white wine. (SR)" (10/2016)

Bid on this bottle of 2007 Domaine de la Janasse "Chaupin" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (99RP, 98JD, 94VN, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I’ve drunk over a case of the 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvée Chaupin from my cellar, and this was easily one of the finest bottles (it was from magnum) I’ve ever had. Made from close to 100% Grenache and brought up in foudre, it’s a crazy good, monumental beauty that offers loads of ripe blackberries, black raspberries, crushed flowers and garrigue aromas and flavors. Concentrated, layered and unctuous, with a to-die-for texture, no hard edges and a huge finish, this beauty is still youthful and is just now starting to show hints of maturity. When it’s this good, I can’t recommend waiting, but I’ve no doubt this will continue to offer this level of quality for at least another decade. (JD)" (02/2017)

2014 Aubert "Eastside Vineyard" Russian River Valley Chardonnay
Bid on this bottle of 2014 Aubert "Eastside Vineyard" Russian River Valley Chardonnay (98RP, 96VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Absolutely profound is the 2014 Chardonnay Eastside, from the vineyard owned by well-known viticulturalist and farmer Ulises Valdez and planted with a suitcase Montrachet clone on a low-yielding root stock called Riparia Gloire. Smoky crème brûlée notes intermixed with white peach, nectarine, orange marmalade, honeysuckle and buttered apples all jump from the glass of this great Chardonnay that is Grand cru quality, incredibly pure, dense, and long. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Simon Bize Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru "Aux Vergelesses" ((92-94BH)). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "* Sweet spot Outstanding* This possesses the most elegant nose among these Savigny 1ers with complex and fresh aromas of violets, plum, earth, wet stone and a smoky hint that precede rich, intense, detailed and highly energetic middle weight flavors that are shaped by the very firm tannins on the impressively persistent finish. This doesn't have quite the same level of complexity as the Talmettes but it may in time as there is ample underlying material and like many of the Bize '09s, this is unapologetically built to age.
