2005 Domaine Frederic Esmonin Mazy-Chambertin Grand Cru
Bid on this bottle of 2005 Domaine Frederic Esmonin Mazy-Chambertin Grand Cru ((91-93BH), 92ST). Allen Meadows - Burghound: " *Sweet Spot* (.33 ha of 40 year old vines) Here there is a completely different aromatic profile with much more emphasis on earth, underbrush and sauvage tones on the deeply pitched red and dark berry fruit nose that highlights the rich, full, muscled and robust flavors that offer plenty of power on the intense, complex and long finish. This is no model of finesse but there is plenty of potential here and it will use all of a decade to reveal it." (01/2007)

2003 Almaviva "Almaviva" Bordeaux Blend Maipo Valley
Bid on this bottle of 2003 Almaviva "Almaviva" Bordeaux Blend Maipo Valley (95RP, 94WE, 94WS, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2003 Almaviva is a real blockbuster, powerhouse vintage for this estate. With an inky blue/purple color, a beautiful nose of camphor, charcoal, blueberry, blackberry, and some spicy but subtle new oak, the wine is quite full-bodied, powerful, rich, but with silky tannins and loads of glycerin. This could turn out to be one of the all-time great wines released by this partnership and should continue to drink well for another two decades. Almaviva is a partnership of Bordeaux first-growth Chateau Mouton-Rothschild and Concha y Toro. Made in the style of top of the line Pauillac, the blend is typically 73% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22-23% Carmenere (a very close relative of Merlot), and 4-5% Cabernet Franc. It spends 18 months in new French oak and is bottled unfined and unfiltered. (JM)" (06/2007)

2009 Domaine de Marcoux Châteauneuf-du-Pape Vieilles Vignes
Bid on this bottle of 2009 Domaine de Marcoux Châteauneuf-du-Pape Vieilles Vignes (97RP, 96WS, 94VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Just a touch darker in color than the traditional cuvee, the blockbuster 2009 Chateauneuf du Pape Vieilles Vignes is a big, full-bodied and concentrated beauty that's overflowing with Provencal notes of cured meats, garrigue, licorice, black cherries and crushed rock. Thick and unctuous on the palate, it has put on weight since release, and the tannin is also sweeter and more polished, all suggesting it will have a long life. This is a gorgeous Chateauneuf du Pape! 97+ Points (JD)" (10/2016)

Bid on this bottle of 2005 E. Guigal "Château d'Ampuis" Côte-Rotie (96RP, 94WS, 93VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "More masculine, backwards and concentrated, the 2005 Cote Rotie Chateau d’Ampuis is a full-bodied, structured effort that’s just barely starting to show some secondary nuances. Giving up notions of violet, asphalt, graphite, crushed rock, bacon fat and dried rose petal, it has impeccable balance, notable concentration and a big finish. It should hit prime time in another 2 to 3 years, and evolve gracefully through 2025. 96+ Points (JD)" (08/2014)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2013 Coutet, Sauternes (96WS, 94-95WE, 93-95RP, 91-94VN). Wine Spectator: " Unctuous and ripe, with mouthfilling almond cream, ginger, heather honey and apricot flavors, this will need time to unwind fully, but when it does, expect more pineapple, maple and singed orange notes, as this has some depth and power in reserve, with more than enough cut for balance. A beauty in the making. Best from 2018 through 2038." (1/2016)

2001 M. Chapoutier "Le Méal" Ermitage
Bid on this bottle of 2001 M. Chapoutier "Le Méal" Ermitage ((92-95RP), 93ST, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The dense purple-colored 2001 Ermitage Le Meal reveals aromas of blackberry liqueur, smoke, licorice, and toasty oak. While rich, it is neither as expansive nor as broad compared to the 2000. The 2001 possesses good acidity and delineation in addition to a tight, pinched but impressive finish that lasts for 40-45 seconds. It is certainly an outstanding, even profound effort, but not as compelling as previous vintages. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2030. (RP)" (06/2003)

1995 Tertre Roteboeuf, St-Emilion
Bid on this bottle of 1995 Tertre Roteboeuf, St-Emilion (94RP, 94ST, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A very powerful, concentrated Tertre Roteboeuf, but completely closed at present, this wine has a deep ruby/purple color, and a sweet nose of black cherry and plum jam intermixed with hints of vanilla, chocolate, and espresso roast. The wine is medium to full-bodied, quite tannic, powerful, and one of the more backward wines I have tasted at this estate. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2005 Domaine Lignier-Michelot Morey St. Denis 1er Cru "Les Chenevery" ((90-92BH), (90-92ST)). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Medium ruby-red. Briary black cherry, licorice and a suggestion of mentholatum on the nose. Hard to taste today owing to the level of CO2, but this is concentrated and sappy, with flavors of kirsch and crushed stone. Firm acids contribute to the impression of backbone. Strong but youthfully austere, and long on the aftertaste. Very 2005 in character and built to age. (ST)" (03/2007)

2002 Domaine Nicolas Rossignol Volnay 1er Cru "Caillerets"
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2002 Domaine Nicolas Rossignol Volnay 1er Cru "Caillerets". Like many of Nicolas' wines, this is not bottled as domaine grown, not, however, because he buys wine from someone else. On the contrary, it is because he is a sharecropper. He could legally bottle 1/2 of the wine from this vineyard, and call it Domaine Rossignol. But the other, identical half, belongs to the vineyard owner, and he has to buy the wine he grew and made from them. To do so, he has to have a negociant's license and then can only sell the wine as a negociant wine, even though he grew the grapes, made the wine, bottled the wine, and sold it. Ah, the joys of French law. Or as they say in Burgundy, La Douce France. (Keith Wollenberg, K&L Burgundy buyer) And Clive Coates writes: "Fragrant, plump and stylish. Very elegant. Medium full body. Cool and composed. Very good acidity. This is fat, round and ample. Quite fat. Long. Very good indeed." (The Vine, 02/004)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2005 Domaine Tortochot Morey-St -Denis 1er Cru "Aux Charmes". Allen Meadows - Burghound: "As one would reasonably expect, this is materially more elegant but also entirely serious with a pretty mix of red, black and blue pinot fruit aromas nuanced by hints of earth and a bit of wood spice that continues onto the rich, full and powerful flavors. Indeed this is unusually powerful for an Aux Charmes as the character is more what its name suggests, e.g. agreeable and round rather than robust and muscled. The finish coats the mouth with chewy tannins and while this is well made and balanced, it won't be for everyone as it's old style Morey." (01/2008)

It never fails to skirt the edge of excess, and just when we are sure that it can not escape, it delivers a rich and polished passage on the palate with an amazing amount of highly ripe, entirely alive fruit that balances the assertive tannins and comes with enough acid energy to keep itself together for drinking now if that is your wont and cellaring for a half decade or more for those who prefer that route. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2004 Glaetzer "Godolphin" Shiraz-Cabernet Sauvignon Barossa Valley South Australia ((96-98RP), 95JH). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This nearly perfect wine, made from 70% Shiraz (105- to 115-year-old vines) and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon (60- to 90-year-old vines), was cropped at a minuscule .5 to 1 ton of fruit per acre, and spent 15 months in French oak prior to bottling. Its gorgeously sweet, pure nose of crushed rocks, blueberries, cassis, and minerals soars from the glass. 2007 Sean Thackrey "Sirius Eaglepoint Ranch" Mendocino Petite Sirah
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2007 Sean Thackrey "Sirius Eaglepoint Ranch" Mendocino Petite Sirah. Finding information to share about Sean Thackrey's wines is about as challenging as locating Thackrey's Bolinas property, which is located an hour north of San Francisco in western Marin County. Thackrey's rustic winery-in-a-eucalyptus grove is only accessible via a twisting road that ends at the Pacific's edge, according to the Wine Spectator. The highly-allocated results are made in Thackrey's distinctive style: powerful and intense with rugged tannins using methods culled from ancient texts, mostly translated (Thackrey reads seven languages). Sticking to the celestial theme seems appropriate for Thackrey's ethereal vinous creations.

2010 Cantemerle, Haut-Médoc
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 Cantemerle, Haut-Médoc (94JS, 94RP, 92WE, 91WS, 90ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The wine needs a good 7-10 years of cellaring and should keep for 30 more years, but this is the finest Cantemerle I have encountered in my professional career of tasting young vintages (dating back 34 years now). Stunningly deep ruby/purple, with a beautiful nose of spring flowers intermixed with perfumed raspberry and blueberry notes, it exhibits a sort of cool-climate character. Broad, rich and intense on the palate, the wine has plenty of tannins, but they are sweet and well-integrated. Everything is delicately entwined into this beautiful, medium to full-bodied, dense purple wine, which shows stunning character and a prodigious potential for development. This is definitely a major sleeper of the vintage and even better than I thought from barrel. With its 2010, this classified growth located in the southern end of the Medoc may well have made a modern-day version

2005 Ridge Vineyards "Geyserville" Sonoma County Zinfandel
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2005 Ridge Vineyards "Geyserville" Sonoma County Zinfandel (95CG, 93VN). Connoisseurs Guide: "Some years back Ridge removed the varietal identifier from its Geyserville red wine made substantially from Zinfandel but a field-blend in reality. But whatever they call it, it has been and continues to be a terrific Zinfandel by any standard. Its deep but still developing aromas of berries, brownies and sweet oak give way to more open and accessible ripe-berry flavors, and, contrary to the latter-day norm, the wine is free of excessive ripeness or evident heat. It has the depth to enjoy now, but given Geyserville's track record for longevity and the wine's nascent character, it is wise to cellar away a few bottles." (01/2008)

2006 Anderson's Conn Valley "Right Bank" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2006 Anderson's Conn Valley "Right Bank" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (95RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2006 Right Bank (70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc) exhibits a dark plum/purple hue along with gamy, cedary, black cherry, black currant, plum, toffee, and caramel aromas. Deep, rich, and youthful with significant tannin as well as impressive concentration and length, this is a stunning, complex Napa Valley red... (RP) " (12/2009)

2007 Sea Smoke "Southing" Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum lot of 2007 Sea Smoke "Southing" Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir (1.5L) (95WE, 90ST). Wine Enthusiast: "A fabulously rich and approachable Pinot Noir that offers everything now, yet will also age. The considerable tannins will protect it in the cellar for a good 6-8 years, but it's so fresh and vibrant in cherries, red currants and oak-inspired red licorice that it's hard not to drink it now. Hard to exaggerate the deliciousness factor." (03/2010)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This opaque purple-colored, muscular, full-bodied, classically made St.-Julien displays impressive concentration, chewy, highly-extracted flavors of black fruits, iron, earth, and spicy wood, and a powerful mouth-feel. A pure, uncompromising, traditionally-styled wine, it is to be admired for its authenticity, class, and quality. (RP)" (04/2011)
