2004 Falesco "Marciliano" Cabernet Umbria (1.5)
Bid on this magnum of 2004 Falesco "Marciliano" Cabernet Umbria (1.5). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2004 Marciliano (70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Cabernet Franc) is made in a similarly powerful, structured style as the Montiano. Unfortunately it doesn't have that wine's core of fruit and I don't see it ever becoming an especially generous wine. The Cabernet Franc character is also surprisingly absent in this wine. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2016. (AG)" (02/2008)

2012 Dutton Goldfield "Angel Camp Vineyard" Anderson Valley Pinot Noir
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2012 Dutton Goldfield "Angel Camp Vineyard" Anderson Valley Pinot Noir (94WE, 91ST, 90W&S). Wine Enthusiast: " *Cellar Selection* A purely delicious fruit personality makes this single-vineyard Pinot stand out from the crowd of oak bombs. It has an unusually deep, dark color for a Pinot Noir and it stays a rich red on the rim. It’s medium to full-bodied but not at all heavy. A vein of tannin and berrylike acidity lifts the rich, ripe plum and black cherry flavors on the palate and through the finish." (10/2014)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2003 Ciacci Piccolomini "Vigna di Pianrosso" Brunello di Montalcino (92RP, 91ST, 91WE, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2003 Brunello di Montalcino Vigna Pianrosso is made from the estate’s oldest vineyards. It is vinified along the same line as the regular bottling, but gets a few additional months in cask prior to bottling. This full-bodied, velvety Brunello is endowed with plenty of dark fruit, smoke, iron and tar. The tannins finish big, but the wine appears to have enough depth and length on the palate to provide a good measure of balance. The Pianrosso comes across as surprisingly fresh in this vintage, which should allow it to age more gracefully, if not necessarily longer, than the normal bottling. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2018. Proprietor Paolo Bianchini is upbeat about his 2003 Brunellos. It is the first vintage in which he had the tools to perform a cold soak, which he feels was especially critical in preserving as much freshness as p

Bid on this bottle of 1993 Domaine du Vieux Telegraphe "La Crau" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (90RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "In 1993, Vieux-Telegraphe was able to harvest virtually all of its crop at sugar levels that produced a wine of 14% alcohol. The outstanding 1993 reveals an impressively saturated dark ruby/purple color, and a spicy, Provencal herb, pepper, black-cherry and raspberry-scented nose with a touch of licorice. Full-bodied, with firm tannin and structure (reminiscent of the 1989), as well as layered richness, this Chateauneuf du Pape has 10-15 years of aging potential. Last tasted 8/96. (RP)" (01/1997)

1990 Graham's Malvedos Centenary Vintage Port
Bid on this bottle of 1990 Graham's Malvedos Centenary Vintage Port (96RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This is the sweetest, most fragrant, and most highly extracted of the three ports I tasted (Symington, Dow and Graham). Its flamboyant, up-front fat and decadence provide more initial appeal than the monstrous but restrained Dow. It also reveals extraordinary richness and a fabulous finish. These single Quinta ports are just as spectacular as any vintage port I tasted from 1983 or 1985." (08/1992)

1990 Dow Quinta Bomfim Port
Bid on this bottle of 1990 Dow Quinta Bomfim Port (96RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I thought this was a staggering example of port. Dow's style tends to be more backward, but this opaque black/purple-colored wine reveals a huge, powerful, intense palate, with gobs of flesh and viscous fruit. There is considerable tannin in the finish. It is a massive port with no indication of excessive alcohol in the finish. A magnificent young, dry-styled vintage port that just goes on and on in the mouth, it should last for 20-30 years. The single Quinta ports are just as spectacular as any vintage port I tasted from 1983 or 1985. (RP) " (01/1993)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Laforge, St-Emilion (96RP, 92ST, 90WS, 89WE, 16DC). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "From proprietor Jonathan Maltus, this blend of three terroirs, two on sand and one on gravel, is a blend of 92% Merlot and the rest Cabernet Franc. About 2,000 cases are produced, and the prodigious 2009 is the finest vintage to date. Inky blue/purple, with notes of licorice, camphor, black truffle, blackberry and blueberry, this full-bodied wine has massive concentration yet at the same time displays elegance and harmony. However, the 2009 is a charming, sexy, dense ruby/purple-colored offering displaying lots of ripe Merlot fruit intermixed with hints of charcoal, black raspberries, black currants, lead pencil shavings and truffles. 1999 Dominique Laurent Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1999 Dominique Laurent Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes. According to Allen Meadows: "The Dominique Laurent 1999s could be the strongest set of wines he has ever produced. They are quite individual in style and will not necessarily be to the taste of purists as they are arguably more about Dominique Laurent and his vision of what Burgundies should be rather than any unadorned reflection of the underlying terroir. That said, if you have admired the style of M. Laurent's wines in the past, then you will love his 1999s as they are some of the most intense, most seductive and most particular wines I tasted on this trip. As M. Laurent will tell you over and over on any given visit, he searches only for the best growers and always for wines from old vines that deliver density, concentration and complexity." Bid on this magnum of 2010 Wind Gap "Ritchie Creek Vineyard" Spring Mountain District Blaufrankisch (1.5L) (92W&S, 91RP, 90ST). Wine & Spirits: "Every once in a while, a wine breaks out of a blind tasting and alters the mood of the panel. It triggers happiness rather than making a case for pleasure. There’s nothing in my notes that can explain it: cool, saturated raspberry and rose scents, spicy, tight, lovely. Associate editor Luke Sykora described this as “totally fresh;” Gianpaolo Paterlini of Acquerello said, “It comes forward powerfully, then finishes clean.” Perhaps it’s just the right thing to grow on the flank of Spring Mountain, where Pete Minor had initially planted Pinot Noir. It’s a cool, forested area at an elevation of 1,200 feet near Ritchie Creek and the grapes weren’t ripening consistently; he tried Viognier, but wasn’t satisfied with that either. His neighbor, an Austrian, suggested he plant Blaufränkisch, and they decided to travel to Austria, bringing back budwood

It is dense, pure, and multilayered, with an opulence that provides immediate accessibility. However, there is no doubting that it will stand up to 10-14 years of cellaring. Bid on this bottle of 1988 Diamond Creek "Volcanic Hill" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Wine Spectator: "Tight, tannic and earthy, but with a dense, compact core of mineral, currant, cedar and spice. An '88 you can wait on, as the fruit, while not overly ripe, is concentrated." (11/1998)

2003 Domaine Comte Armand Pommard 1er Cru "Clos des Epeneaux"
Bid on this bottle of 2003 Domaine Comte Armand Pommard 1er Cru "Clos des Epeneaux" (90BH). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "The nose is very ripe yet there is solid freshness and no sense of prune or stewed notes, indeed it's best described as extract of ripe pinot. The big, very concentrated, plumy flavors are blessed with buckets of pinot extract that buffer the firm tannic spine and extend out to a hugely long finish. This is definitely an atypical effort yet one that is most impressive anyway." (04/2006)

2006 Dutton Goldfield "Morelli Lane Vineyard" Dutton Ranch Russian River Valley Zinfandel
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2006 Dutton Goldfield "Morelli Lane Vineyard" Dutton Ranch Russian River Valley Zinfandel (93CG, 92WE, 90W&S). Connoisseurs Guide: " *Two Stars* Contemporary Zinfandel has increasingly become more and more defined by alcohol and high ripeness, but here is a happy reminder of the heights that the grape can reach when it is not pushed to the limit. Dense, deep and absolutely loaded with classic berry-like fruit, this wine delivers all of the richness we could want and does so in a nicely balanced package without raisiny compromise. Its lasting finish shows a good spine of tannins and nary a trace of heat, and all signs point to a terrific future." (05/2008)
