2014 Henri Boillot Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru "Clos de la Mouchère"
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2014 Henri Boillot Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru "Clos de la Mouchère" (95BH, (93-95VN), 91RP). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "(from 60+ year old vines and the vineyard is a whopping 4 ha monopole within Perrières) This is sufficiently reduced that it presently masks the fruit and if you're tempted to try a bottle in its youth I would strongly advise decanting it first. Otherwise there is outstanding density to the focused and powerful middle weight plus flavors that stain the palate with dry extract that also helps to buffer the intensely mineral-driven finale that just goes on for minutes. This is flat out brilliant though note that it will not be an early drinker. In sum, this is a genuine 'wow' wine. Drink: 2026+" (06/2016)

2003 Domaine Dujac Clos de la Roche Grand Cru
Bid on this bottle of 2003 Domaine Dujac Clos de la Roche Grand Cru. 91-94 Points and Highly Recommended by Allen Meadows: "Deeper and even more textured than the Echézeaux with a perfumed nose of ripe cherries and pronounced ripe soil notes that lead to wonderfully detailed full-bodied and mineral-laden flavors brimming with pinot extract and a touch of reduction on the backend. There is outstanding intensity here and an exceptionally long and lingering finish but what sets this apart is the superb overall balance. A terrific wine in an absolute sense and a phenomenal effort for the vintage and it, along with the Clos St. Denis, are highly recommended." (Burghound, 02/05)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2005 Domaine de la Pousse d'Or Pommard 1er Cru "Jarollieres" ((91-93BH), 92ST, 91RP). Allen Meadows - Burghound: " *Sweet spot Outstanding* By contrast, here the intense, elegant, airy and almost startlingly fresh red berry fruit nose is expressive to the point of exuberance as the nose explodes from the glass with a flourish to reveal delicious, rich and full yet beautifully delineated and ultra pure flavors that are focused, linear and penetrating on the distinctly mineral-infused finish. This is a really lovely and sophisticated Pommard that bears more than a passing resemblance to its ‘across the border’ Volnay neighbor Frémiets." (04/2007)

Pungent, slightly rustic aromas of red berries and leather. Quite ripe and glyceral but showing a restrained sweetness to its rather reticent fruit flavors. Finishes long and ripely tannic, with a lingering note of gingerbread. 91+ Points " (03/2013)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2013 Meo-Camuzet Nuits-St-Georges 1er Cru "Les Boudots" ((92-94BH), 92VN, (88-90RP)). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A markedly spicy nose features notes of earth, plum, cassis and soft floral nuances. There is excellent concentration to the powerful and intense middle weight flavors that also possess a velvety mouth feel before culminating in a balanced, dusty and hugely long finish. The supporting tannins are well-integrated and while this should amply reward longer-term cellaring it should also be approachable after only 7 to 8 years. In a word, terrific." (01/2015)

2012 Joseph Drouhin Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2012 Joseph Drouhin Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru ((92-95BH), (93-95RP), (91-93ST)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru, which comes from lieu-dit “Les Languettes” was picked on September 19 and comes from their own vines, as it has for the last three vintages. Fortunately, there was no hail but the crop was still reduced by 50%, equating to three barrels in total. It already has an attractive nose, albeit one that is tightly coiled at present, coveting its apricot and beeswax aromas, keeping them back for later. The palate is spicy on the entry with a fine line of acidity. There is lovely weight here, with quite a precocious, yet still tightly wound finish that suggests it deserves five to six years to really come around. Excellent. (NM)" (12/2013)

2012 Rhys "Horseshoe Vineyard" Santa Cruz Mountains Pinot Noir
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2012 Rhys "Horseshoe Vineyard" Santa Cruz Mountains Pinot Noir (95ST, 94RP, 94VN, 91BH). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Ruby-red. Explosively perfumed cherry-cola, dark berry liqueur, incense and mineral aromas show superb clarity and depth, with a sexy floral quality building with air. Offers palate-staining black raspberry and spicecake flavors that become sweeter and deeper with air. This rich but strikingly lithe and tensile pinot deftly plays power and depth off of vivacity and finishes sweet, youthfully tannic and extremely long. One of the most impressive Pinots I've tasted from the New World, or Burgundy for that matter, in quite a while. (ST)" (05/2014)

1982 Talbot, St-Julien
Bid on this bottle of 1982 Talbot, St-Julien (95RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Along with the 1986, the 1982 is one of the greatest Talbots ever made. Far more evolved than its stablemate, Gruaud Larose, it exhibits a dense garnet color to the rim along with a huge, sweet, exotic nose of charcoal, beef blood, licorice, herbs, and black fruits. A hint of figs suggests borderline overripeness, but the wine remains fleshy and full-bodied with sweet tannin and an expansive, heady mouthfeel. (RP)" (06/2009)

Medium to full-boded, it coats the palate with oily waves of liquefied chalk, salt, minerals, and spice. This thick, immensely rich, satin-textured effort has massive depth, purity, and length. 2012 Caymus "40th Anniversary" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2012 Caymus "40th Anniversary" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (96RP, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "They appear to be immune to some of winedom’s less than intelligent trends and fads that we see from time to time, and the result is a spectacular 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon 40th Anniversary offering. Its dense purple/black color is followed by copious quantities of crème de cassis and blackberry fruit, silky tannins, a voluptuous texture and stunning purity as well as length. This full-bodied effort is a fabulous example of Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon as well as a tribute to this amazing family. It is so good now, why wait? However, I’m sure that like most vintages of Caymus, it will last for 20-25 years. Amazing! (RP)" (10/2014)

Bid on this bottle of 2006 Domaine William Fèvre Chablis Grand Cru Bougros "Côte de Bouguerots" ((94-95RP), 95WE, 94ST, 93BH). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "From this cru’s steep, riverside slopes, the Fevre 2006 Chablis Bougros Cote de Bouguerots reveals its oak in lanolin, toasted almond, and spice aromas, along with notes of chalk dust, sweet lime, and heady, lily-like floral perfume. With enveloping richness, luscious juiciness, and flattering creaminess, yet underlain by a vivid sense of crushed stone, this saturates the palate so completely and intensely and with such a palpable sense of extract, that the finishing stain seems almost severe. This remarkably concentrated and polished wine should be worth following for 15 or more years. The 2005, too, is superb. (DS)" (10/2008)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2012 Vincent Dancer Meursault 1er Cru "Les Perrieres" (94ST, 92BH, 92RP). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: " (just 22 hectoliters per hectare were produced, according to Dancer): Compelling sweetness and lift to the aromas of lemon, orange, peach and crushed stone, plus a whiff of hazelnut. Boasts outstanding tactile concentration and suavity, with fine-grained flavors of orange zest, pineapple and minerals carrying through on the building whiplash of a finish. Just a hint of exotic fruits to indicate the vintage. "The year was saved by lousy July and August weather, which had the effect of extending the ripening period," noted Dancer. A stunningly complex premier cru--but then much of this vineyard merits grand cru status. (ST)" (09/2014)

Bid on this magnum lot of 2003 Feudi di San Gregorio "Serpico" Aglianico Irpinia (1.5L) (OWC - 92RP, 91WE, 90WS) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2003 is a fascinating Serpico. The wine boasts impressive concentration in its dark, rich fruit. This is an incredibly primary Serpico, with little in the way of tertiary development. Ideally, it is best left alone for another few years, but readers fortunate enough to own this are in for a thrilling ride once the wine opens up a bit. 1999 Ducru-Beaucaillou, St-Julien
Bid on this bottle of 1999 Ducru-Beaucaillou, St-Julien (92RP, 91ST, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Served at the Ducru offline in London, the ’99 is a Saint Julien that over-achieves in this mediocre growing season. Although it is slightly muffled on the nose at first, its opens up nicely with red-berried fruit, sandalwood, leather, cedar and a touch of spice. Good vigour and delineation. The palate is medium-bodied and very well balanced, gentle grip, almost Burgundian in texture thanks to its lovely, fleshy finish although that does not detract from its structure. This is a lovely, caressing ’99 in context of the vintage, one for medium-term drinking. Drink now-2018. Tasted September 2009. (NM)" (07/2010)

2009 Calera "Mills Vineyard" Mt. Harlan Pinot Noir
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Calera "Mills Vineyard" Mt. Harlan Pinot Noir (95RP, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A deceptively medium-bodied wine, the 2009 Pinot Noir Mills Vineyard possesses stunning balance of fruit, acidity and structure, along with superb integration of the whole clusters. There is a mid-palate pliancy and richness to the 2009 that is simply breathtaking. The Mills is all about elegance. Hints of pine, menthol and chalk linger in the empty glass. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2024. Readers who want to experience the finest Pinot Noirs being made in California should put Calera at or near the top of their lists. The 2009s are simply breathtaking in their beauty. I am not sure why I was so blown away by the estate’s 2009s, as the entry-level 2009 Central Coast Pinot I reviewed last year provided more than enough clues as to the quality of the rest of the lineup. Based on that wine, I should have known what to expect. Congratulations to proprietor Josh Jensen

Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A black raspberry liqueur nose leads to rich, sweet and thick flavors that exude opulence, finishing with a seductive roundness as the impressive level of mid-palate sap completely buries the moderate tannic spine. This isn't quite as precise as the Clos de la Roche but it's a seriously seductive wine and because of the sappiness, this could be enjoyed young or held for 6 to 8 years first." (01/2006)

Of the 2004 Mitolo "GAM" Shiraz McLaren Vale South Australia,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "Aged 18 months in primarily French oak, the 2004 Shiraz G.A.M. is an exceptional example of a precise yet full-flavored, concentrated Shiraz. Its gorgeous perfume of blueberries, blackberries, camphor, licorice, and pain grille is followed by an inky/blue/purple-colored wine offering superb purity, full-bodied richness, and gorgeous depth as well as texture. This fabulous effort is another example of Ben Glaetzer’s brilliant talents. It should drink well for 15 years. (RP)" (10/2005)

2002 Torbreck "Factor" Shiraz Barossa Valley South Australia
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2002 Torbreck "Factor" Shiraz Barossa Valley South Australia (99RP, 96JH, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Remarkably, the 2002 The Factor may be even more awesome than the 2001. It boasts a blackberry liqueur-like intensity with chocolatey richness intermixed with blackberries, raspberries, and cherries. The unctuous texture, refreshing acidity, and sweet tannin frame-up this magnificent wine. It should drink well for 15+ years. Interestingly, the 2002 The Factor did not have the Cote Rotie-like roasted element found in the 2001, no doubt because 2002 was a much cooler growing year than the record heat experienced in 2001. Of the 2008 Anthill Farms "Comptche Ridge Vineyard" Mendocino Pinot Noir,Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar writes: "Medium red. Sexy aromas of black raspberry, cinnamon, minerals and potpourri. Precise and vibrant, with nervy cut to its intense, lithe flavors of red berries and spicecake. Still youthfully tight and bound-up but shows excellent potential. Turns a bit more supple with air, finishing with tangy grip and a lingering hint of Asian spices." (05/2010)

Made from 30- to 50-year-old Shiraz vines in the Willunga district of McLaren Vale, it was aged 18 months in 100% new French barrels and small foudres. This elegant Shiraz boasts an opaque purple color along with sumptuous blueberry, blackberry, and cassis notes intermixed with touches of white flowers, licorice, camphor, and graphite. Purple-colored, it has an intense aromatic display of smoke, violets, mulberry, blueberry, and chocolate. This leads to a full-bodied, plush, wine with layers of ripe, spicy black fruits, excellent focus and delineation. (JM)" (10/2007)

Of the 2002 Pride Mountain Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon,Connoisseurs Guide writes: "Intensely aromatic and redolent of raspberries, cassis, cocoa and touches of loam, this very rich and powerful young wine follows through with wonderfully concentrated flavors that are every bit as big and fully filled as expected. Although its sheer sense of mass and immediacy will hold it in reasonable stead as a near-term partner to meats on the bone, it has the strength and the structure to grow even better with time and deserves a wait of at least five years if not ten." 2004 Alban "Reva" Edna Valley Syrah
Bid on this bottle of 2004 Alban "Reva" Edna Valley Syrah (95RP, 94WS, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2004 Syrah Reva is classic in style, with its iodine, olive and salty, marine-like character front and center. Coming from the gravelly, sandy clay loam soils on the estate, it shows more textbook Syrah character with air (very northern Rhone-like) and has first rate complexity, gorgeous dark fruit and brilliant overall purity. Showing almost no evolution, with full-bodied richness, fine tannin and a balanced, fresh and lengthy profile, it will continue to drink beautifully for another decade or more. (JD)" (04/2014)

This is a serious wine that will benefit from every bit of a decade as it climbs towards its full, and considerable, potential but note that patience will be required. Bravo!" (01/2008)

2004 Chateau Montelena "Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2004 Chateau Montelena "Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (95RP, 95VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A classic, old style Napa Cabernet Sauvignon, Montelena’s 2004 reveals beautiful purity along with lots of creme de cassis fruit, a full-bodied mouthfeel, and a long finish. By Montelena standards, it is a bit more powerful than usual (14.1% alcohol). These wines have an uncanny ability to age for 2-3 decades, and while the 2004 is slightly more forward and evolved than other vintages have been (2001 and 2002), it should last for 20-25 years. 2005 Chateau de la Tour Clos-Vougeot Grand Cru Vieilles Vignes
Bid on this bottle of 2005 Chateau de la Tour Clos-Vougeot Grand Cru Vieilles Vignes (97BH, 95ST). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Out of all of the less than 20 year old wines in the tasting, the 2005 possesses the most aromatic complexity with simply knockout scents of still relatively primary red and dark berry fruit, spice, floral, humus, game and smoked tea. There is strikingly good concentration yet absolutely no sense of heaviness to the seductively textured and velvety broad-shouldered flavors that coat the mouth with abundant reserves of dry extract that also buffer the still very firm tannic spine. In addition to the obvious assets of complexity and concentration, what really impresses me about this exceptionally powerful wine is the impeccable balance and harmony as nary a hair is out of place. Note however that this is going to be one very, very long-lived effort and I wouldn't touch a bottle for at least another 10 to 12 years. In a word, stunning." (01/2014)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2001 Clarendon Hills "Blewitt Springs Vineyard" Old Vines Grenache (95RP, 93WS, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The dense plum/purple-colored 2001 Grenache Blewitt Springs Vineyard offers a heady concoction of red as well as black fruits, flowers, incense, balsam wood, and spice. On the palate, it is prodigiously thick, rich, viscous, and packed and stacked. Difficult to resist, this exuberant, full-throttle wine should be at its peak between 2004-2012." (08/2003)

Wine Spectator: "Dark, dense and brooding, with a wild, feral side, but also intense flavors of blackberry, cassis, bacon and sandalwood. There's also a mineral streak and a corps of well-knit tannins. This will require time, but the payback will be worth it. Best from 2015 through 2035." (05/2008)

Bid on this bottle of 2005 Clos Fourtet, St-Émilion (98RP, 95WS, 94WE, 92ST, 92W&S). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Dense ruby/purple, with notes of crushed rock, blueberry and blackberry fruit intermixed with some licorice and chocolate, this full-bodied, massive wine from proprietor Philippe Cuvelier coincides with the resurrection of this premier grand cru classé in St.-Emilion. As the wine sits in the glass, notes of espresso roast and chocolate emerge. This full-bodied classic should continue to drink well for another 25 years. This is a killer effort. (RP)" (06/2015)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2011 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Les Cherbaudes has a feminine, lifted bouquet that is very fragrant with cold stone and spice. This has a lovely voluminous palate adorned with immense precision, fresh acidity and lovely tension and race toward the finish. Full of vigor and minerality, the Cherbaudes is one of Jean-Marie’s finest 2011s. Drink 2014-2023. (NM)" (08/2013)

1998 Domaine Jean Grivot Richebourg Grand Cru
Bid on this bottle of 1998 Domaine Jean Grivot Richebourg Grand Cru (92ST). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Medium red. Rather reticent nose exudes scents of musky roast coffee, red fruits and spicy, nutty oak. Voluminous and impressively concentrated but extremely undeveloped today, even a bit monolithic. One senses the wine energy, but its various components have not yet harmonized. The longest of the Grivot '98s, but very difficult to taste today. (ST)" (03/2001)

Of the 2013 Cayuse "Bionic Frog" Walla Walla Valley Syrah,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "I think the best of the Syrahs is the 2013 Syrah Bionic Frog, and while I've liked other single vineyards more than this cuvee in the past, it seems a solid step up in both 2012 and 2013. The 2013 offers incredible notes of roasted herbs, beef blood, mushrooms, scorched earth and sweet black fruits in a full-bodied, gorgeously concentrated, structured, serious style ... Bid on this bottle of 1990 Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé Musigny Grand Cru Vieilles Vignes (96RP, 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Bordeaux-like, saturated dense ruby/purple color is followed by a tight-fisted nose and flavors of black fruits, underbrush, minerals, smoke, and new oak. Although extremely concentrated, the wine is broodingly backward, and not fun to drink ... yet. This loaded effort should prove to be one of the longest-lived red Burgundies made in the last twenty years. (RP)" (02/2002)

Of the 2011 Sine Qua Non "Dark Blossom" California Syrah,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: " ... One of the shining successes in the vintage, it’s a full-bodied, concentrated and layered Syrah that has awesome aromatics of blackcurrants, Peking duck, pepper, licorice and charcuterie in its seamless, thrillingly pure profile. As with Manfred’s other 2011s, the tannins are certainly present, yet they’re sweet, polished and have no hard edges. Give this beauty 2-3 years in the cellar and enjoy bottles through 2031.
