2007 Saxum "Bone Rock - James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 2007 Saxum "Bone Rock - James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (1.5L) (99RP, 98WS, 96ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Bone Rock, which comes from the James Berry Vineyard (82% Syrah, 13% Mourvedre, and the rest Grenache, also aged 28 months in a combination of smaller barrels, demi-muids, and pungeons), is super as well. Like its late-released sibling, it has an inky/purple color to the rim and an extraordinary, soaring set of aromatics consisting of spring flowers, pepper, graphite, blackberry and blueberry fruit with hints of raspberry and licorice and jus de viande as well. The extraordinary freshness and elegance of this wine leads to a minerality that even eclipses the Heart Stone. The finish goes on for a good 45+ seconds, and the purity is awesome. This extraordinary wine completes the 2007 portfolio of unbelievable efforts from the Smiths. (RP)" (08/2010)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2007 Domaine Michel Colin-Deleger Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru "Les Demoiselles" (93BH, 93RP, 90ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "There are three demi-muids and half a barrique of Michel Colin's 2007 Puligny-Montrachet Les Demoiselles constituting a bumper crop for this tiny site (now with three owners, including son Bruno and the Domaine Amiot). A faint aura of white truffle joins chalk dust, sea breeze, iris, and diverse citrus in the nose. Luscious and bright on the palate, with a subtly creamy texture, this finishes with a memorable, dynamic mingling lime, grapefruit, tangerine and white peach with chalk, salt, toasted nuts, and savory suggestions of lobster shell reduction and browned butter. This many-faceted gem should be worth following for the better part of a decade. (DS)" (12/2009)

2011 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 2011 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (96RP, 95AG, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "More serious, and one of the wines of the vintage, the 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon (100% Cabernet Sauvignon) has uncommon concentration and depth in the vintage, as well as a broad, structured profile that will allow it to age gracefully. Loaded with sweet creme de cassis, exotic spice, licorice and graphite, it’s a full-bodied, elegant and classically styled effort that has nothing out of place, fine, building tannin and a rock star finish. It will be approachable at an earlier stage than most vintages, yet still have two decades of longevity. (JD)" (06/2014)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2014 Peter Michael "Le Moulin Rouge" Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir ((91-94RP), 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The fourth Pinot Noir, which they've been long making, comes from purchased grapes. Called Moulin Rouge, they made 500 cases in 2014 and 740 cases in 2013. This is believed to be from another suitcase clone brought in by the Pisoni family and planted in the Santa Lucia Highlands. Both vintages look strong from this area. The 2014 has a deep ruby/purple color, raspberry and black cherry fruit with some floral notes, medium to full body, and a nice, heady, lush finish. (RP)" (12/2015)

Intense, floral-accented scents of orange zest, pit fruit and candied ginger. Powerful and broad but surprisingly energetic, offering sappy, palate-staining citrus marmalade and peach flavors lifted by tangy acidity. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2012 Rhys "Horseshoe Vineyard" Santa Cruz Mountains Pinot Noir (95ST, 94RP, 94VN, 91BH). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Ruby-red. Explosively perfumed cherry-cola, dark berry liqueur, incense and mineral aromas show superb clarity and depth, with a sexy floral quality building with air. Offers palate-staining black raspberry and spicecake flavors that become sweeter and deeper with air. This rich but strikingly lithe and tensile pinot deftly plays power and depth off of vivacity and finishes sweet, youthfully tannic and extremely long. One of the most impressive Pinots I've tasted from the New World, or Burgundy for that matter, in quite a while. (ST)" (05/2014)

1978 Beaulieu Vineyard "Georges de Latour Private Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1978 Beaulieu Vineyard "Georges de Latour Private Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (90RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Over the years, my notes on the 1978 B.V. Private Reserve have been wildly inconsistent. In this tasting (February, 1995), the wine performed up to its highest standards, displaying fully mature aromas of roasted herbs, red and blackcurrants and cherries intertwined with caramel and spice notes. Dense, rich, and full-bodied, with a velvety texture and gobs of spicy oak, this high alcohol, lusty-styled Cabernet Sauvignon offers a compelling glass of delicious wine...(RP)" (06/1995)

Of the 2007 Rochioli "West Block" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "From a relatively old vineyard (planted in 1970), the 2007 Pinot Noir West Block is dazzling Pinot Noir. An extraordinary nose of kirsch, black raspberry, forest floor, crushed rock, and a floral cocktail of notes jump from the glass of this dense ruby/purple-colored wine. This wine shows complex forest floor notes, damp earth and Asian plum sauce interwoven with blackcurrant and black cherry as well as hints of underbrush and spring flowers. 2010 Bryant Family "DB4" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2010 Bryant Family "DB4" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (94RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 DB4 is insanely beautiful. Crushed rocks, plums, cinnamon and licorice jump from the glass from this striking, delineated wine. In 2010, the DB4 has a level of pure energy and vibrancy that is missing in the 2009, most likely because it also includes declassified lots from the Bettina. This is a great showing from Don Bryant and his team. In most cellars, the DB4 would be the top wine, but here it is the second label. Top flight Napa Cabernet is seldom inexpensive, but this is just about as good as it gets for the money. (AG)" (12/2012)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Flirting with perfection, the 2010 Chardonnay Marcassin Estate exhibits a serious liqueur of stones along with a greenish hue to its straw color, fabulous density, richness and full-bodied power, but zesty acids and notes of quince, white currants, subtle peach, brioche and apricot marmalade are all present in this multi-dimensional, complex, stunning Chardonnay that will be released in 2014. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 Bevan "Oscar - Sugarloaf Mountain Vineyard" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (95RP, 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Proprietary Red Oscar Sugar Loaf Mountain is notably sweeter, richer and more powerful than the Impetus, Bevan’s other Merlot/Cabernet Franc blend. Chocolate, sweet spices, cloves, black berries and plums all jump from the glass in this full-bodied wine. The 2010 is full-throttle, intense and unapologetically opulent, but it all works, and beautifully. I expect the 2010 to give years of sheer pleasure once it recovers from its current slightly shut down stage. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2025. (AG)" (12/2012)

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2009 Giacomo Conterno "Cascina Francia" Barolo (96RP, 95JS, 95VN, 94ST, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Because Monfortino was not produced this vintage, the 2009 Barolo Cascina Francia benefits from the extra fruit that would have otherwise gone toward the world's most celebrated Barolo Riserva. I tasted the 2009 Barolo Cascina Francia in barrel two years ago and am delighted by its steady evolution. This is a wine of sophisticated intensity and persuasion. The bouquet peels back to reveal dark fruit, licorice, tar and dried rose. The vintage was warm, resulting in extra plumpness and roundness in terms of mouthfeel. The style is slightly more immediate, but this is a great aging wine nonetheless. (ML)" (05/2015)

Here the flavors are intensely mineral-inflected and saline. Crushed rocks and citrus lead to sweet floral and spiced notes but the 2011 remains first and foremost a wine of texture and balance. Bid on this 3-half-bottle lot of 2008 Sine Qua Non "Jinete Bajo Vin de Paille" Roussanne (375ml) (96RP, 95ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The days of the Mr. K wines are gone forever with the tragically premature death of Austrian Alois Kracher, who had partnered with Manfred Krankl in this intriguing homage to sweet nectars. Krankl continues on his own, and in Spring, 2011, he will release the 2008 Jinete Bajo Roussanne Vin de Paille, which is named after his wife's favorite horse. Made from 100% estate fruit, with a finished alcohol level of 11.8%, a whopping 240 grams per liter of residual sugar, and 8.7 grams of acidity, this is a pure nectar of honeyed marmalade, waxy, syrupy honeysuckle, exotic creme brulee, and citrus. The remarkable acidity cuts through the extraordinary sweetness, so the impression is fresh and vibrant. Krankl has pulled off a marvelous balancing act with this cuvee. How long will it last? Bid on this bottle of 2007 Domaine Vincent Dauvissat Chablis Grand Cru "Les Clos" (96ST, 95RP, 95WS, 94BH). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright yellow. Subtly complex nose melds Asian pear, violet, lavender, ginger, iodine and powdered stone. Tactile and dense on entry, then creamy in the middle, conveying an impression of great volume without weight. This extremely backward, youthfully understated Clos firms up dramatically on the back end, finishing with palate-saturating citrus and talc flavors that refuse to fade. This one's tight as a drum in tannins and acids, a quivery, nervously wound wine. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1998 Cabernet Sauvignon Eisele Vineyard was bottled earlier than usual as this vintage is not as massive or concentrated as its predecessors. To my palate, the 1998 is good, although I am not convinced it will be long lived. There are 2,300 cases of this 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Petit-Verdot, and 3% Cabernet Franc blend. It is supple and elegant, with a complex, evolved bouquet of smoke, black currants, spice box, and cedar. Like its bigger sibling, it’s impossible to resist at present, but promises to age well for 15 years. (RP)" (12/2005)

2009 Domaine Charvin Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2009 Domaine Charvin Châteauneuf-du-Pape (95RP, 94ST, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Chateauneuf du Pape (which tips the scales around 15% natural alcohol) is a great example of traditional Chateauneuf du Pape winemaking. A dense dark ruby color is followed by a sexy nose of raspberries, ground pepper, spice box, damp earth, kirsch and dark currants. Full-bodied, complex, elegant and already irresistible as the tannins have completely melted away... (RP)" (01/2011)

Knockout nose combines raspberry, crushed stone, spicy oak, minerals and leather. Wonderfully tangy and delineated but at the same time seamless, with superb energy and concentration to its raspberry and spice flavors. Finishes very long and scented, with substantial fine tannins. A wine of great finesse: this would provide fodder for those who believe this vineyard is capable of performing at grand cru level. (ST)" (01/2011)

On the palate, this chewy, medium-to-full-bodied, juicy, tangy, and silky-textured offering is packed with blackberries, black cherries, minerals, and grilled oak. 2006 Domaine de la Grange des Pères Vins De Pays de l'Herault Rouge
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2006 Domaine de la Grange des Pères Vins De Pays de l'Herault Rouge ((94-95RP)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2006 Grange des Peres red had been assembled but not bottled when I visited in December. (In Vaille’s frigid, canal-side cellar, wines in cask evolve very slowly.) This millerandage-afflicted vintage has produced such a small crop in red as well as white, that Vaille said he would have practical difficulties figuring out how best to allocate it to his customers. This smells and tastes like a blend of pit and bush fruit distillates with some resinous, herbal elixir. The sheer density on exhibit here – including a huge web of finely-spun tannins – makes for a certain severity. “It’s not very baroque,” is Vaille’s wry comment, and I would concur. This is going to need at least 5-6 years in the cellar to even begin to reveal its full potential, and I can imagine a long bottle evolution borrowing elements from the Medoc, Hermitage, and Chateauneuf

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2007 Domaine de la Mordorée "Reine des Bois" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (97RP, (93-96ST), 96WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Evolving beautifully, the 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee de La Reine des Bois has shed some of its crazy tannin and is showing a more layered, voluptuous profile. Possessing beautiful kirsch, blackberry, candied licorice, flowers and lavender, it offers knockout richness and decadence to go with brilliant purity of fruit, superb concentration, and a full-bodied, layered mouthfeel. While I don’t think it matches the ’01 or ’10, it’s an incredible bottle of wine that can be consumed anytime over the coming 10-15 years. (JD)" (08/2014)

2007 Domaine de la Grange des Pères Vins De Pays de l'Herault Rouge
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2007 Domaine de la Grange des Pères Vins De Pays de l'Herault Rouge (94RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A saline, alkaline, kelp-, and oyster shell-aura such as one would more usually encounter in a white wine is evident already on the nose of Vaille’s red 2007 Grange des Peres, along with a garrigue-typical evocation of wild fennel and juniper. That said, ripe plum and cassis abound as well, with the tart edge of fruit skin; piquancy of plum pit; and aforementioned mineral and herbal elements collaborating on an impressively rich yet brightly juicy and vibrantly interactive performance that practically bursts forth in a sustained and palate-staining finish of invigoration as well as saliva-inducing savor. (I would have sworn, blind, that this must be the 2008!) The mineral dimension is so distinctive and assertive that this wine is bound not to be everybody’s cup of Languedoc red. I predict it will be exciting to follow for at least the next dozen years

Allen Meadows - Burghound: " *Sweet Spot, Outstanding* As complex as the Pruliers is, the Les Cailles ratchets it up yet another notch with its spicy and pure blend of cassis, plum, violet and distinct iron-infused earth. There is excellent richness to the cool and equally pure medium-bodied flavors that possess excellent focus on the explosively long finish. The tannins are dense but quite fine and this offers outstanding upside development potential." (01/2013)

Black raspberry, dark chocolate, iron, smoke and menthol on the rather brooding nose. Then silky, ripe and deep, with lovely inner-mouth aromatic character for this wine at this early stage. At once supple and serious, offering suave flavors of dark fruits and menthol and finishing with fairly powerful but nicely ripe tannins. Possesses all of the Nuits food groups. Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2009 Domaine Vincent Paris "Granit 60" Cornas ((93-95RP), 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The dense purple-colored 2009 Cornas Granite 60 Vieilles Vignes exhibits aromas of black raspberries, blackberries, licorice, camphor, subtle barbecue smoke and meat juices. This full-bodied, massive 2009 needs at least 5-6 years of bottle age. It should keep for 20-25 years. While the 2009s are softer and more accessible (because of lower acids and more opulent textures), they are extremely large-scaled, substantial reds that will benefit from a few more years of cellaring. Possessing a rock-star texture, no hard edges and beautiful concentration, it’s drinking nicely now, and should continue to evolve gracefully for another decade. (JD)" (08/2014)

Powerful, primary dark berry flavors exude a sweet gamey quality. Dense but sharply delineated. Great flavor intensity without the slightest suggestion of heaviness. Still a baby but already amazingly harmonious wine. Extremely long finish features very fine, suave tannins. This is clearly one of Napa Valley’s iconic wineries, as well as one that, amazingly, never went through a bad patch.
