2011 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Red Blend
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2011 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Red Blend (91RP, 91VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2011 Columbia Valley Red Wine offers the classic creme de cassis, graphite, toasted spice and hints of licorice that seems to be present in all of the estate’s Cabernets. Medium to full-bodied, supple and already approachable, it nevertheless has the back-end stuffing to evolve gracefully for upwards of a decade. " (06/2014)

Of the 2012 Kosta Browne Russian River Valley Pinot Noir,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "The straight 2012 Pinot Noir Russian River Valley is a gorgeous Pinot. Subtle and nuanced, yet no lightweight, it offers layers of mulled red and black fruits, cinnamon, loamy earth and dried flowers on the nose. Every bit as good on the palate, with a medium to full-bodied, supple and layered profile, it has excellent mid-palate depth, a fabulous texture and a clean finish. It's already hard to resist, but it will evolve nicely through 2022." (10/2014)

2013 Aubert "Ritchie Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2013 Aubert "Ritchie Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay (97VN, 96RP, 93WS). Vinous: "The 2013 Chardonnay Ritchie Vineyard is translucent and weightless, yet also magnificent in its depth. Graphite, slate, smoke, incense, lemon and white peach emerge from the glass, but only with great reluctance. The Ritchie is the most reticent wine in this range, but it is in many ways the most intriguing. Intensely mineral and nuanced, the 2013 Ritchie will thrill those lucky enough to own it for another decade-plus. I can't wait to see how this develops in bottle. The 2013 was done in 100% new oak, yet there is virtually no trace of oak at all. (AG)" (01/2015)

2009 Saxum "Bone Rock - James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Saxum "Bone Rock - James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (94RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Bone Rock is a round, enticing red laced with sweet, succulent dark cherries, plums, flowers and spices. It shows remarkable intensity and fabulous balance. Bone Rock is made from the first blocks planted in the James Berry vineyard and is predominantly Syrah, while the James Berry Vineyard (the wine) is Grenache focused. In 2009 the blend was 57% Syrah, 31% Mourvedre and 12% Grenache. The Syrah component was vinified with 100% stems and saw a maceration lasting 50 days. The wine was aged in 60% new oak. Smith bottled the 2009 in May 2011, earlier than the norm (around 30 months), as he wanted to preserve the freshness he had in the tannins. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2021. (AG)" (08/2011)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2011 Occidental (Kistler) "Occidental Station - Cuvee Catherine" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (97VN, 94ST, 93RP). Vinous: "The 2011 Pinot Noir Occidental Station Cuvée Catherine is a real stunner. Still incredibly primary, the 2011 is built on a serious core of fruit. Voluptuous yet medium in body, the 2011 impresses for its balance and sheer purity. The 2011 has developed quite a bit since I last tasted it, but the style remains one of fruit density. Readers should give the 2011 another year or two in bottle. What a fabulous wine this is. Occidental is Steve Kistler's new Pinot Noir project, which is starting essentially as a spin-out from Kistler Vineyards. 1997 Joseph Phelps Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1997 Joseph Phelps Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (90ST, 90WE). 90 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Deep ruby-red. High-pitched aromas of blackberry, cassis and enticing smoky oak. Smooth on the palate but with very good delineation and verve. This comes across as fruitier than the merlot. Juicy but not especially fleshy. Ripe, dusty tannins spread out nicely over the palate." (May/June 00) 90 points Wine Enthusiast: "Full black-currant aromas with some briar and dust. Blackberry fruit on the palate, but most of all lots of charred oak manifested as coffee and bitter chocolate. In golf, this would be a middle-of-the fairway drive, but without the distance. It’s fresh and well made. " (11/00) According to the Wine Spectator: "Wonderful balance of intense, ripe, complex currant, cherry, anise and sage-laced flavors that gain richness and depth on the finish, where the tannins firm up. Best from 2001 through 2009." (04/2000)

It is a medium-bodied, elegant Cabernet Franc with serious flavor intensity. (RP)" (12/2007)

2005 Hundred Acre "Deep Time" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2005 Hundred Acre "Deep Time" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (99RP, 96ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The very limited cuvée, the 2005 Deep Time is another amazingly well-balanced, incredibly pure, rich, profound Cabernet Sauvignon that is like a concentrated essence of Cabernet. Despite the much longer sojourn in new oak casks, the wine seems to show less wood than its two peers. Deep, rich, and full-bodied, with wonderful silky tannins and a magnificent mouthfeel, this is another killer effort from Jayson Woodbridge. Bravo! (RP)" (06/2015)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Another perfect wine is Bevan’s equal part blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc, the 2012 Proprietary Red Sugarloaf Mountain. Notes of unsmoked cigar tobacco, forest floor, pen ink mulberries, blackberries and spring flowers soar from this inky/purple-colored 2012. The wine possesses great intensity, remarkable unctuosity and thickness, and perfect integration of acidity, alcohol, tannin and wood. Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2006 Clerico "Pajana" Barolo (96RP, 93JS, 93ST, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2006 Barolo Pajana reveals incredible aromatic complexity and intensity, something this particular site isn’t always capable of. There is lovely definition to be found as this classic feeling, mid-weight Pajana opens up in the glass. Layers of ripe dark fruit, spices, flowers, licorice and minerals develop seamlessly through to the close. I am floored by the wine’s volume, depth and length. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Well, it can’t be easy to follow a perfect wine, but the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard The O.G. can. It tips the scales at the end of my scoring system with absolutely magnificent blackberry and cassis fruit, spring flowers, sweet tannin, full-bodied opulence, and a finish that goes on for 50+ seconds. This full-bodied classic boasts a dense purple color as well as a superb nose of graphite, creme de cassis, forest floor, licorice and a hint of truffles, low acidity, and extravagant richness. Light on its feet despite its stunning concentration and multi-layered mouthfeel, this wine has fabulous intensity, richness and length. 2008 Rhys "Bearwallow" Anderson Valley Pinot Noir
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2008 Rhys "Bearwallow" Anderson Valley Pinot Noir (93BH, 92ST). Allen Meadows - Burghound: " *Outstanding* A deft, indeed almost invisible, touch of wood sets off even more complex aromas of spicy red Pinot fruit and warm earth nuances that also suffuse the concentrated, intense and powerful big-bodied flavors that are supported by distinctly firm tannins and a much more overt sense of austerity on the strikingly long finish. This is built to age and will probably outlive the Home...The estate wines of Rhys Vineyards are made from biodynamically farmed fruit and owner Kevin Harvey and winemaker Jeff Brinkman continue to drive the wines to new heights. There are usually varying percentages of destemming but in 2008 there was none (as was also the case in 2007). That the wines are of very high quality is evident but what is wonderfully refreshing is that the wines are also unique and original. Simply put, they are unlike any other pinots being crafted in Calif

2010 Domaine Galevan Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2010 Domaine Galevan Châteauneuf-du-Pape (95RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Chateauneuf du Pape is one of the finest traditional cuvees I have tasted as well as a sleeper of the vintage. Made from 90% Grenache and 10% Mourvedre from 55-year-old vines, it exhibits a dense ruby/purple color as well as a stunning perfume of creme de cassis, kirsch, incense, licorice and a vague notion of beef blood and roasted Provencal herbs. All of the fruit comes from vines planted in the northern end of the appellation. This exquisite, full-throttle Chateauneuf du Pape should drink well for 15 or more years. It is a major star of the vintage, and probably is reasonably priced as well. A microscopic estate owned by Coralie Goumarre, Domaine Galevan was established, remarkably, in 1780, but the first estate-bottled wine did not emerge until 1968. I was blown away by these four red wine cuvees, and both of the 2010s have jumped dramatically in score since I taste

It has such purity and power yet it's reserved and beautiful. It's one of the best Calons ever. I drank a bottle with some friends in Manhattan last week and it was the wine of the evening. It was full-bodied with silky tannins and a focused and intense finish. Lots of currant and berry character and hints of dried spices. This is one of the most Bordeaux-like wines in this vertical, with the lead pencil shavings and scorched earth characteristics pointing toward a Graves style. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Donelan "Cuvée Keltie" Sonoma County Syrah (98RP). An inky/black color is followed by abundant notes of creme de cassis, roast beef, blackberries, bouquet garni and graphite. This extremely full-bodied, dense 2009 saturates the palate with intensity, and the finish lasts for nearly 60 seconds. This gorgeous 2009 should drink well for 15+ years. 98+ (RP)" (12/2013)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Ostertag's 2011 Riesling Muenchberg mingles fresh, very ripe apple and pear with candied grapefruit and kumquat rinds, caramelized parsnip, caraway, and fresh ginger, all wreathed in peat-like and charred smokiness, and putting me in mind of a Riesling dosed with Gewurztraminer. There is an uncanny combination of body and high glycerol with brightness here, leading to a finish of exuberant juiciness, zesty cut, interactive complexity and formidable sheer grip. Layers of fruit build to an effortless, huge finish long on texture and pure class. This voluptuous, highly expressive Cabernet Sauvignon is likely to drink well earlier than the 2010, but it also has the pedigree to age gracefully for years. The Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Clos du Fonteny 2011 has a more accomplished and complete nose compared to its peers in the flight, offering raspberry, briary, blackcurrant and mineral scents with a sense of confidence. Of the 2001 Behrens & Hitchcock "Kenefick Ranch Reserve" Napa Cabernet Sauvignon,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "The classic 2001 Kenefick Ranch is a blend of 82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Cabernet Franc, 6% Merlot, and 6% Petit Verdot. This 419-case offering will undoubtedly disappear as quickly as it is released. However, patience will be required as it needs 4-5 years of cellaring. Of the 2010 Big Basin Vineyards "Rattlesnake Rock" Santa Cruz Mountains Syrah,Vinous writes: "Dark red cherries, wild flowers, smoke, tobacco and savory herbs are some of the many notes that flesh out in the 2010 Syrah Rattlesnake Rock. Here the fruit is quite a bit redder in tonality than in the other 2010 Big Basin Syrahs because of the presence of 11% Grenache in the blend. Wild and constantly changing in the glass, the Rattlesnake Rock is bursting with complexity, nuance and pedigree. Bright floral and savory notes punctuate the finish. I can't wait to taste the Rattlesnake with a little more bottle age. (AG)" (07/2013)

Of the 2012 Booker "Fracture" Paso Robles Syrah,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "There are roughly 293 cases of the 2012 Fracture to go around, and it checks in as a blend of 100% Syrah that was aged 18 months in French oak. A big, rich and decadent effort, it’s another spectacular effort from this estate that does everything right. Creme de cassis, chocolate, spice-box, graphite and ground pepper all come together beautifully here, and this beauty has a forward, supple and full-bodied style that’s hard to resist. More elegant and open than past vintages, I’d drink bottles over the coming 4-5 years, but it will evolve for longer. (JD)" (08/2014)

This wine has more honeysuckle, orange blossom, nectarine notes, with a hint of tropical fruit. Of the 2010 Keplinger "Sumo" Amador County Red Blend,Vinous writes: "The 2010 Sumo is showing beautifully today. Everything comes together in the glass. The 2010 is rich, powerful and intense, yet wonderfully nuanced for such a big wine. Floral and spice notes add lift, but it is the dark blue/purple Petite Sirah fruit that dominates. 2010 Ledge "Adams Ranch" Paso Robles Syrah
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 Ledge "Adams Ranch" Paso Robles Syrah (94RP, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Made by Mark Adams, who is the assistant winemaker at Saxum, the brilliant 2010 Syrah Adams Ranch Vineyard (almost all Syrah yet with a splash of Grenache; 60% whole cluster) comes from estate vineyards and steep slopes located just to the west of James Berry Vineyard. Purple/ruby in color and semi-opaque, it offers up a complex, northern Rhone-like bouquet of raspberry, black currant, mint, cracked pepper, violets and distilled herbs that flows to a deft, elegant palate that packs loads of richness and depth without any apparent weight. Turning more and more floral with air, it is a beautiful wine that will drink well for 12-15 years. (JD)" (08/2013)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2007 Cayuse "Bionic Frog" Walla Walla Valley Syrah (98WE, 95RP, 95ST, 95WS). Wine Enthusiast: "Often considered the iconic Cayuse wine, this bears the cartoonish label with the leering frog, though it is a single-vineyard offering like the others. Initially showing some fat and sweetness, it is supple and textural, with the density that comes from a mix of flavors: pain grillé, smoke, umami, fungus, coffee grounds and dark fruits. A richly organic compendium of scents and flavors, with black tea tannins. (PG)" (02/2011)

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 1970 Beaulieu Vineyard "Georges de Latour Private Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (93RP, 91VN, 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1970 has always been considered one of the great B.V. Private Reserves. Well-stored bottles continue to taste brilliantly, but they are fully mature and cannot be expected to last much longer. This wine performed spectacularly in this recent blind tasting (February, 1995), revealing a huge, complex bouquet of overripe, sweet, jammy, pruny fruit, cedar, herbs, spices, and fruitcake. Fat and rich, with unctuously-textured, chewy, expansive flavors, and a full-bodied finish, it was all this great wine can be." (06/1995)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2007 Domaine Roulot Meursault 1er Cru "Les Charmes" (93BH, 92ST, 90RP). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Unlike this wine in 750 ml (see there review herein), there was no touch of unabsorbed sulfur on the nose though there was a mild note of reduction that still allowed the aromas of acacia blossom, hazelnut and brioche to be appreciated. There is good richness to the detailed, textured and silky medium-bodied flavors that caress the palate on the minty and still noticeably tight finish. Not surprisingly in magnum format this is still very much on the way up so I would recommend giving this at least another 5 to 10 years of cellar time first." (12/2015)

2005 Caymus "Special Selection" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2005 Caymus "Special Selection" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (96RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon Special Selection is made in the classic Caymus style that Chuck Wagner has perfected, seemingly so easily. It’s a big, ripe Napa Cabernet Sauvignon (as it should be) coming in at 15.2% natural alcohol. This has gorgeous notes of fig, plum, blackberry, cassis, with no real oak showing through, at least at age ten. Low in acidity, opulent, sexy and fresh, it is indeed a beverage of pleasure, and Chuck Wagner certainly knows how to deliver it in spades. This full-bodied, juicy Cabernet Sauvignon will age easily for another 10-15 years, but why wait? It is that stunning at present. (RP)" (06/2015)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "There is a cool, inward minerality to the 2010 Puligny-Montrachet Les Folatieres that is quite striking, but the wine is going to need some time to fully come together. Lemon, white flowers and flint are some the many notes that are layered into the wiry, tense finish. I very much like the sense of energy here. (AG)" (08/2012)

2010 Sine Qua Non "Stockholm Syndrome" Sta. Rita Hills Grenache
Bid on this bottle of 2010 Sine Qua Non "Stockholm Syndrome" Sta. Rita Hills Grenache (100RP, 96VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The current release of the estate vineyard (a.k.a. the extended barrel-aged cuvee), the 2010 Grenache Stockholm Syndrome is an incredible effort that I couldn’t find a fault with. A blend of 75% Grenache, 22% Syrah, 2% Roussanne and 1% Viognier, all from the Eleven Confession Vineyard, it spent just under 30 months in 22% new and 78% used French oak prior to bottling. Locked and loaded, it knocks it out of the park with its cassis, licorice, smoked duck, spice-box and exotic herb-styled bouquet. The palate follows suit and while it has the expected depth and richness of the estate, it’s seamless, elegant and lively, with perfect balance, ultra-fine tannin and a finish that just won’t quit. It doesn’t get any better and count yourself lucky if you can latch onto a couple of these. It will thrill for 15-20 years. (JD)" (08/2014)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Bolgheri Camarcanda is an exceptional wine with a level of aromatic intensity and integrity that is impossible to exaggerate. The blend is Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, in that order of importance. The bouquet is impeccable and refined, with deep layers of Morello cherry, cassis, dried blackberry and spice that peel back in quick succession. Bid on this bottle of 2007 Abreu "Thorevilos" Napa Valley Proprietary Red (100RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Thorevilos is monumental, and stands out as one of the most singular and greatest Napa red wines I have ever tasted. An expansive fragrance of subtle barbecue smoke intermixed with graphite, blueberries, espresso, white chocolate and a liqueur of rocks soars from the glass of this full-bodied, prodigious effort. It has the texture of a skyscraper yet never becomes heavy or overbearing. This offering, which can send chills up your spine, is a candidate for one of the finest wines ever made in Napa Valley. Silky and round but with lively mineral pungency giving definition and grip to the flavors of raspberry and gibier Finishes with substantial tannic power, a subtle saline character and superb length. An inky/purple color is followed by aromas and flavors of creme de cassis, blackberries, charcoal, coffee and licorice.
