2010 Saxum "James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2010 Saxum "James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (97RP, 96VN, 94ST, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Sporting a vibrant ruby, semi-opaque color, the 2010 James Berry Vineyard is the most tight, backward version of this cuvee that I can recall. A blend of 52% Grenache, 26% Mourvedre, and 22% Syrah, it has a decidedly savory bouquet of blackberry liqueur, kirsch, violets, bouquet garni, ground pepper, and graphite. Full-bodied and layered on the palate, with brilliant mid-palate concentration, superb freshness, and masses of tannin, this brilliant Rhone blend from Paso Robles will stand toe-to-toe with the best wines out there, but it is not for those seeking instant gratification and will require 4-5 years of bottle age. In 2010, the Grenache component was aged in a combination of concrete tank and oak puncheons, and this shows in both the aromatics and texture, with less obvious sweetness and more freshness. It will evolve gracefully for two d

2011 Paul Lato "Lancelot - Pisoni Vineyard" Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2011 Paul Lato "Lancelot - Pisoni Vineyard" Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir (96RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The most rich and structured of the lineup, the 2011 Pinot Noir Lancelot Pisoni Vineyard (aged in 75% new French oak) offers up spectacular aromas and flavors of ripe raspberry, blackberry, crushed stone, toast and incense. Medium to full-bodied, rich and voluptuously textured, yet also incredibly elegant and refined, this knockout California-styled beauty should be even better in another year and thrill through 2023. Drink 2015-2023. (JD) 96+" (08/2013)

2010 Suduiraut, Sauternes (375ml)
Bid on this 6-half-bottle lot of 2010 Suduiraut, Sauternes (375ml) (96RP, 95JS, (92-95ST), 95WE, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Along with Chateau Rieussec, the Suduiraut 2010 is a candidate for best Sauternes of the vintage. It has a wonderful bouquet with an instantaneous sense of completeness and harmony, with layers of botrytized fruit intermingling with apricot blossom, peach skin and marmalade. This is powerful, but not in your face. There is no need to be. The palate is well-balanced with a viscous opening. There is plenty of botrytis here, good acidity and enormous weight on the finish. Perhaps it needs a little more tension, but otherwise this is a very impressive wine for the Sauternes vintage. (NM)" (04/2014)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2007 Williams Selyem "Weir Vineyard" Yorkville Highlands Pinot Noir (94ST, 93W&S, 92WE). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright red. High-pitched red and dark berry aromas are complicated by gingerbread, minerals and dried rose. Stains the palate with sharply focused raspberry and blackcurrant flavors, picking up tangy mineral and exotic floral pastille character with air. Strikingly pure wine, with excellent finishing clarity, cut and juicy persistence. (ST)" (06/2009)

2009 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Red Blend
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Red Blend (92RP, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Quilceda Creek's 2009 Red Wine – which includes 15% of Merlot and near-negligible amounts of Malbec, Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Franc – nicely integrates preserved walnut, toasted pecan, and green herbal elements into a matrix of cocoa powder, chocolate syrup, and confitured dark berries. There is a hint of heat to the finish of this plush, plump offering, but neither that nor the wines torrefied elements detract from a torrent of sweet berry juiciness, nor preclude a sense of energy and a dynamic interaction of myriad elements. I suspect, based on intuition as well as reliable reports – although I have scarcely any personal experience as yet with older Quilceda Creek wines – that this will remain well worth following for at least a decade. Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2008 Anthill Farms "Peters Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (92BH, 92ST). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Light, vivid red. Energetic aromas of black raspberry, rose petal and spicecake. Supple, silky and restrained, with a sneaky sweetness to its red and dark berry flavors. Spreads out on the back half and shows deeper blackberry and cherry character, with very soft tannins on the close. I really like this wine's blend of potency and elegance. (ST)" (05/2010)

2011 O'Shaughnessy Mt. Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2011 O'Shaughnessy Mt. Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon (94VN, 91RP, 91ST). Vinous: "The 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon Mount Veeder is darker, richer and more powerful than the Howell Mountain. Dark cherry, plum, spice, new leather, licorice and cloves all blossom in the glass. The 2011 shuts down quickly in the glass, which is probably a very good sign of the wine's potential longevity. Today the Mt. Veeder shows quite a bit more depth and creaminess than the Howell Mountain. The 2011 is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. (AG)" (11/2013)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2013 Cliff Lede "Beckstoffer To-Kalon Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (99RP, 95JS, 95VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Another black/purple wine is the Cliff Lede 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard. Flirting with perfection, this wine boasts blueberry and blackberry notes, spring flowers a hint of charcoal and subtle toast, a full-bodied mouthfeel and stunning concentration. It’s the hallmark of purity and the multi-dimensional texture and length that make for a profound Cabernet Sauvignon that’s accessible. It promises to hit its peak in 8-10 years and last 30 or more. 1987 Robert Mondavi "Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 1987 Robert Mondavi "Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (97RP, 90ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This extraordinary wine is backward and unevolved, but even neophytes will recognize its potential greatness. The opaque, saturated, dark purple color reveals no sign of age. The huge, smoky, oaky, blackcurrant, herb, and vanillin-scented nose only hints at what will be achieved with further evolution. Sweet, decadently rich, dense, highly extracted flavors are wrapped around a full-bodied, chewy, super-concentrated, moderately tannic wine that, ideally, needs 7-8 more years of cellaring. It is a 25 to 30 year California Cabernet Sauvignon that is just beginning to become civilized. A potential legend in the making! (RP)" (08/1994)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The ’96 Chambolle Village is now at its peak although it should stay there for several years. It has a decadent raspberry and plum-scented bouquet with just a hint of Earl Grey, whilst the palate retains tensile tannins and has a firm, structured finish that should see it age gracefully over the next decade. This is an especially juicy, dark wine from Rivers-Marie. A final burst of fruit intermingled with floral and spiced notes inform the finish. This is the second vintage for the Silver Eagle, one of the warmer sites near Occidental. The principal clones are Calera, 828 and a Vosne-Romanee suitcase clone. Hugely broad, spicy, and plush, this is a wine of power, nobility, and complexity. Innumerable red and black fruits are intermingled with roasting spices in its dense, suave core. Bursting from the glass with complex aromas of red and black fruit, burning embers, pungent violet, rich cocoa and incipient tobacco leaf, on the palate the wine is incredibly deep, concentrated and three-dimensional. Right now it's shutting down and deserves to snooze for at least a decade before it begins to unful and reveal all its magic. Bid on this bottle of 2010 Smith-Haut-Lafitte Rouge, Pessac-Léognan (98RP, 96WE, 96WS, 95JS, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This is an extraordinary performance once again from the Cathiard family, the proprietors of Smith-Haut-Lafitte. They think the 2010 is even better than the 2009. (I disagree, but only slightly.) This wine has laser-like definition in its an remarkable nose of a subtle charcoal fire interwoven with spring flowers, creme de cassis, blueberry liqueur and spicy wood. Bid on this bottle of 2013 Dominus Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (100DC, 100JS, 100RP, 100VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2013 Dominus is, to my way of thinking, one of the most profound wines Christian Moueix has yet made in his rather brilliant winemaking history, both in France and in Napa Valley. This wine, with very low yields of only 3,500 cases and a final blend of 89% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Petit Verdot and 4% Cabernet Franc, offers up notes of cedar wood, forest floor, loamy soil and oodles of blackberry and blackcurrant fruit. Very opaque purple in color, super-pure and intense, this wine has low acidity, but ripe, noticeable tannins. This is a 30- to 40-year wine and a profound effort from this famous vineyard in Yountville. Drink it over the next 40+ years. (RP)" (10/2015)

A blend of 61% Cabernet Sauvignon, a whopping 22% Cabernet Franc and the rest Merlot and Petit Verdot, this full-bodied, opulent 2003 is just entering its plateau of full maturity. It offers classic notes of tangerine oil, apple blossoms, caramelized citrus and a wet stone minerality. Bid on this bottle of 2013 Ovid Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (98RP, 98VN, 94WS, 93JS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2013 Proprietary Red, a slightly different blend from the 2012 of 84% Cabernet Sauvignon and 16% Cabernet Franc, is a much smaller production of 350 cases. This wine, which ratchets up the level of intensity, has an opaque purple color and a beautiful nose of blackberry, blueberry and cassis as well as hints of espresso, white flowers, and subtle background toast. The wine hits the palate with a cascade of gorgeous fruit, sweet tannin, great delineation and acidity, and a long, velvety, voluptuously textured mouthfeel. This big, inky, thick, juicy wine should age beautifully for 25-30 years. (RP)" (12/2015)

Of the 2009 Domaine du Tunnel (Stéphane Robert) Cornas,Rhone Report writes: "A serious Cornas that exudes minerality and earthy characteristics, the 2009 Domaine du Tunnel (Stéphane Robert) Cornas boasts stunning, pure aromas of blackberry, violets, charred meat, and Asian spice on the nose. Gorgeously put together and showing a perfect blend of fruit, freshness, and structure, this seamless, balanced Cornas needs 2-3 years of bottle age to gain additional complexity, and should have 15+ years of longevity. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2012 Domaine Louis Jadot (Heritiers) Beaune 1er Cru "Clos des Ursules" ((92-94VN), 93JG, (91-93RP), 91BH). Vinous: "The 2012 Beaune Clos des Ursules is the most lifted and refined of the Beaune 1er Crus from Jadot. Sweet raspberries, tobacco, freshly cut flowers, mint and cinnamon meld together gracefully in the glass. The Ursules is distinguished from the other Beaunes by its silky tannins and fabulous length. There is plenty of richness in the glass, but without the excess weight or extraction found in some of the other wines. (AG)" (01/2014)

2005 Domaine Gourt de Mautens (Jérôme Bressy) Rasteau
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2005 Domaine Gourt de Mautens (Jérôme Bressy) Rasteau (92RP, 92RR). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2005 Rasteau is tannic, backward, and just massive. The wine needs 6-7 years of cellaring, and should age for 15-20 years as well. It won’t have as much accessibility as the 2006 will in 4-5 years, but it is loaded with similar character, chocolate, black raspberries, and kirsch, intermixed with dusty, loamy soil notes, pepper, and the telltale chocolate that comes from the old vine Grenache that bakes in the sun in this high elevation appellation. This is a beauty, slightly rustic but enormously endowed. (RP) 92+" (02/2008)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Domaine Michel Magnien Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru "Les Sentiers" ((89-92BH), 90RP). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "An exceptionally pretty nose that is quite elegant with its mélange of red pinot, blue berry and wet stone aromas that merge seamlessly into rich and relatively full-bodied flavors that possess good volume and a seductively textured mid-palate thanks to the abundance of dry extract that buffers the firmly tannic spine on the mildly austere finish. This is a classic Sentiers in the mode of a mini Bonnes Mares. " (01/2011)

2014 Domaine Servin Chablis 1er cru "Vaillons"
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2014 Domaine Servin Chablis 1er cru "Vaillons" (92BH, 92RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2014 Chablis 1Er Cru Vaillons has come on nicely since I tasted it from barrel last year. The bouquet has retained, enhanced those yellow flower scents, perhaps its flintiness more conspicuous now that the wine is in bottle. The palate is fresh and crisp, not as shrill as I feared it might be, but certainly taut and linear. It has a saline spiciness, like the tang of fresh cockles, furnishing the finish. What a delicious Chablis Vaillons from winemaker Marc Cameron. (NM)" (08/2016)

2009 Dunn Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Dunn Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon (96RP, 93CG, 93ST, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain has more energy and focus than the Napa Valley bottling. Iron, graphite, red fruits, dried flowers are some of the many notes that take shape in this deep, complex, powerful wine. I imagine the 2009 will still be spectacular at age 30. For now, it needs at least another handful of years of cellaring to drink well. Huge veins of minerality support the huge fruit, giving the wine much of its pure tension and vitality. This is going to be a fascinating wine to follow over the coming decades. Anticipated maturity: 2019-2039. (96+) (AG)" (12/2012)

Of the 2005 Domaine Philippe Gavignet Nuits-St-Georges 1er Cru "Les Bousselots",Wine Spectator writes: "A burly edge is matched by concentrated cassis and plum notes, while the tannins emerge from midpalate on. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 Gerard Raphet Morey-St.-Denis 1er Cru "Millandes" Cuvee Unique (90BH). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Here too the nose is uncommunicative and about all that it will reveal is a pretty mélange of both red and dark pinot fruit that is trimmed in subtle spice and earth scents. There is good precision to the cool and admirably pure middle weight flavors that display good precision on the complex, delicious and altogether quite serious finish. Worth considering." (01/2013)

2009 Fonroque, St-Emilion
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2009 Fonroque, St-Emilion ((91-93RP), (89-92WS)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I agree with Alain Moueix that this is the greatest Fonroque he has ever made. From one of the few bio-dynamically farmed vineyards in St.-Emilion, this 2009 exhibits a dense ruby/purple color as well as a big, crisp, precise nose of forest floor, black and red fruits, crushed rocks, and earth. Dense, muscular, and masculine, this rich, full-bodied, deep, impressively endowed effort will benefit from 5-7 years of cellaring, and should drink well for 25+. (RP)" (04/2010)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Gerard Raphet Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru "Lavaux St-Jacques" Cuvée Unique (91BH). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "An exceptionally fresh and pretty red pinot fruit nose also reflects nuances of stone, plum and earth hints. There is really lovely detail and purity to the delicious, intense and well-balanced middle weight flavors that are very Lavaut in character, all wrapped in a mouch coating and mineral-inflected finish. As is typically the case with the Raphet wines, this is not particularly powerful or concentrated but the focus is impressive in the context of the vintage and for those who enjoy refined and almost delicate burgundies, this would certainly qualify. 2005 Jean Faure, St-Emilion
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2005 Jean Faure, St-Emilion (91ST). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good ruby-red. Reticent but nuanced nose hints at currant, game, iron and coffee. A fruit bomb in the mouth, with fat, sweet flavors of redcurrant, raspberry, tobacco and smoked meat. As full-blown and ripe as this is on first blush, there's plenty of ripe tannins and firm acids underneath. In fact, this quickly shut down in the glass, suggesting that it will require at least six or seven years of aging. The thickest of these three vintages, but the young 2007 is more suave. 2009 Jean Faure, St-Emilion
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2009 Jean Faure, St-Emilion ((89-92ST), 91WS). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "(a blend of 54% cabernet franc, 40% merlot and 6% malbec, with a crop level, according to Decelle, of 34 hectoliters per hectare; 60% new oak) Bright ruby. C abernet franc-dominated nose offers precise aromas of red cherry, blackcurrant, violet and white pepper, plus a hint of cocoa. Then densely packed and a bit tight in the middle, featuring lively if not particularly pliant red and black fruit flavors and a nice dusting of minerals. Finishes long and slightly austere, with mounting dusty-but-ripe tannins and a lingering strawberry note. This rather uncompromising wine possesses sneaky concentration but is not the type that shows well during the primeur tastings; still, it should develop well during its second year of elevage and in bottle. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2008 Ken Wright "Shea Vineyard" Yamhill Carlton Pinot Noir (94RP, 93WS, 92ST). Seamless on the palate with a satin texture, intense ripe fruit flavors, lively acidity, and outstanding length, this densely packed effort admirably combines elegance and power. Ripe, inviting aromas of cassis, black raspberry, blackberry and black licorice. Large-scaled, sweet and rich; wonderfully glossy in the mouth, with concentrated dark fruit flavors complemented by a strong element of sweet oak. This big boy finishes with lovely lingering perfume, excellent length and terrific tannic grip. This wine fermented in 400-liter wood barrels with wild yeasts.
