2009 M. Chapoutier "Barbe Rac" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (OWC)
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2009 M. Chapoutier "Barbe Rac" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (OWC - 96RP, 95WS, 92ST) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Even better is the 507-case cuvee of 2009 Chateauneuf du Pape Barbe Rac. One of the wines of the vintage, this dark ruby/purple-tinged effort possesses great intensity along with a full-bodied mouthfeel and almost over-the-top levels of licorice-infused kirsch liqueur and raspberries. Spicy, peppery and earthy with lavish glycerin as well as richness, this is an amazing 2009 that is already drinking beautifully given the precociousness of the vintage. It should evolve for 15 years or more. (RP)" (10/2011)

2004 Domaine Faiveley Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2004 Domaine Faiveley Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru ((91-93BH), 93WE, 91ST). Wine Enthusiast: "*Cellar Selection* From a 3.75-acre parcel of this grand cru, this is stunning red Burgundy, amazingly complex, lushly fruited and—yes—ageworthy. Plum and black cherry flavors lead the way, but they're joined by notes of meat, earth, wild game, mushroom and saddle leather. Full and lush in the mouth, this is richly tannic but not hard, as some vintages have been in the past." (11/2006)

2004 Domaine Vincent Dauvissat Chablis 1er Cru "La Forest"
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2004 Domaine Vincent Dauvissat Chablis 1er Cru "La Forest" (92BH, 91RP, 91ST, 90WS). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "(opened from personal storage). As one might reasonably expect from the large format bottle, this is evolving very slowly but positively as the complex, cool and restrained nose screams Chablis, in fact it would be very difficult to miss identifying this as such if tasted blind. There is excellent minerality to the still moderately tight, energetic and beautifully precise middle weight flavors that offer excellent depth on the lingering and slightly salty finish. I have upgraded my score slightly because while it may not catch the Dauvissat grands crus (see recent notes herein), it's very close. I have not tasted this recently from 750 ml but I would guess that it would be close to ready but in magnum format, it will require another 3 to 5 years before reaching it apogee." (08/2013)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Domaine du Pégaü "Cuvée Réservée" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (98RP, 95WS, 94WE, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The bottled 2009 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Reservee is as compelling as I thought it would be after tasting it last year. A blend of 85% Grenache with the rest Syrah, Mourvedre and small dollops of the other authorized varietals, this wine tends to come from the estate’s holdings in the eastern sector of Chateauneuf du Pape. The opaque purple-colored 2009 exhibits magnificent, rich berry fruit intertwined with cedar, Christmas fruitcake, licorice, charcuterie, roasted meats, smoked duck, kirsch, blackberries and god knows what else. It is an amazingly complex, rich, full-throttle wine that reminds me somewhat of what the 1990 tasted like in 1994/1995. It is a magnificent Chateauneuf du Pape. If you are looking for the garrigue component, it's also there. (RP)" (10/2012)

Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This is usually a big step up from the preceding wines and though this is an excellent wine, it is not clearly superior to the Pruliers. Wonderful black fruit aromas introduce relatively big flavors of exceptional intensity buffered by lots of sève. Pure, classy and elegant with knockout length." (01/2002)

1945 Vieux Chateau Certan, Pomerol
Bid on this bottle of 1945 Vieux Chateau Certan, Pomerol ((98-100RP), 96JG, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted twice and rated highly each time, the 1945 is an exceptional winemaking effort in what can be a frightfully tannic vintage. It exhibits a dark, murky, plum color with little garnet at the edge. It also possesses a huge nose of smoked meats, black-raspberries, plums, licorice, and tar. Dense, chewy, and powerful, with gobs of tannin, and amazing fruit extraction, this full-throttle wine must be at its plateau of maturity, yet I see no reason it cannot last for two more decades. 2008 Clos Rougeard Saumur-Champigny
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2008 Clos Rougeard Saumur-Champigny (93W&S). Wine & Spirits: "The Foucault brothers took over their family’s estate in 1969 and continue to produce legendary Cabernet Franc. They farm organically and make their wines without adding yeast, without racking, fining or filtering. Their 2008 shows fine evolution, its rooty, rich flavors seemingly ready to drink when first poured, then gaining freshness over the course of a day. The wine’s silken texture and bright red fruit suggest there’s further evolution to come. Or decant it now for duck over farro and red cabbage." (04/2013)

2014 Marcel Juge Cornas
Bid on this bottle of 2014 Marcel Juge Cornas (92VN, 91JD). Vinous: "Brilliant ruby. Aromas of fresh black and blue fruits, olive paste, licorice and violet are accompanied by suggestions of smoked meat and cracked pepper. Sweet, smoky and penetrating on the palate, offering juicy bitter cherry and cassis flavors that deepen and spread out slowly on the back half. Finishes very long and spicy, delivering building tannins and an echo of smokiness. Shows less overt wildness than other recent vintages of this wine, but this is a decidedly old-school Cornas. Bid on this magnum of 2005 Angélus, St-Emilion (1.5L) (100RP, 97VN, 96ST, 96W&S, 96WS, 95CG). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Truly great stuff, this wine performed at a three-digit level both in the horizontal tasting of 2005s in Baltimore, as well as in Montreal at this mini-vertical. This sensational, opaque, bluish/purple wine offers up notes of vanillin, spring flowers, blueberry and blackberry liqueur, plus a touch of licorice. The wine hits the palate with a thunderous cascade of ripe, rich, concentrated fruit. It is full-bodied, multidimensional and layered. The tannins are beautifully integrated but still present, and the wood, acidity, alcohol, etc., are all beautifully assimilated in this magnificent, majestic vintage of Angelus. It can be drunk now, but it is still an adolescent and that suggests it has at least another 25-35 years of longevity. (RP)" (08/2015)

1967 Mouton-Rothschild, Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 1967 Mouton-Rothschild, Pauillac. Mouton-Rothschild, always in the forefront of the greatest wines of Bordeaux, was the first estate to begin complete chateau-bottling of the harvest -- a historic step initiated in 1924 by the late Philippe de Rothschild. It is the only chateau in the Classification of 1855 to achieve reclassification. In 1973, it was finally moved from a second growth to a first. The 1967 label features the artwork of César Baldaccini. Clive Coates: "Medium to medium-full colour. Mature but not unduly so. The nose is beginning to lighten up a little but there is good depth and class underneath nevertheless. Medium body, soft, fragrant. Attractive fruit. Good acidity. Never a wine of great concentration, and without the breed of Latour 1967, but definitely a success." Tasted 1990 - (Grand Vins, the Finest Châteaux of Bordeaux and their Wines, pg 71)

Bid on this bottle of 1995 M. Chapoutier "Le Pavillon" Ermitage (100RP, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Still a youngster, the blockbuster 1995 Ermitage le Pavillon is a quintessential Hermitage in every way. Full-bodied, powerful, thick and unctuous, with tons of smoky, black, black fruits, tar, saddle leather and peppery herbs, this perfect wine is massively concentrated, rich and stacked, with masses of ripe tannin hiding under its still lively and fresh fruit. And while it’s a brilliant drink today, it’s still not yet fully mature. This tour de Force beauty will see its 50th birthday in fine form! (JD)" (03/2016)

Bid on this half-bottle of 1999 d'Yquem, Sauternes (375ml) (93JG). John Gilman: "I was very surprised to like the 1999 Yquem a bit better than I liked the 2001, as the vintage in general seems to be decidedly stronger in Sauternes in 2001. The 1999 Yquem offers up a complex and classic nose of toasted coconut, oranges, honey, butter, lovely soil tones, fresh apricot and a lovely framing of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, deep and quite crisp, with lovely focus and balance, excellent mid-palate depth and a very long, bright and poised finish. A lovely bottle of Yquem. It is so deliciously fresh and floating, with great black currant and blueberry fruits, pointed up by spice, mint and a sense of elegance and poise. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A perfect wine in this vintage, the 2005 Péby Faugères has the classic liqueur of blueberries and spring flowers. Dense purple and full-bodied, with unbelievable richness, this tastes like a great Napa Cab from the Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard, even though there’s no Cabernet Sauvignon in it. This is a sensational wine – rich, full and multi-dimensional, with a skyscraper-like mid-palate and finish. Kudos to Péby Faugères for producing one of the perfect wines of the vintage. 2010 Larcis Ducasse, St-Emilion
Bid on this bottle of 2010 Larcis Ducasse, St-Emilion (98RP, 97JS, 97VN, 94ST, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The wine boasts 14.6% natural alcohol and is a final blend of roughly three-fourths Merlot and the rest Cabernet Franc, cropped at a ridiculously low 19 hectoliters per hectare. Notes of licorice, garrigue, incense, smoked meats, espresso, creme de cassis and blackberry liqueur jump from the glass of this unbelievably intense wine. Remarkably full, with compelling freshness and precision, this is a fabulous effort in 2010. It will probably close down over the next several years, and not re-emerge for at least a decade, something that often happens with the bigger, richer, more muscular St.-Emilions from the limestone hillsides and plateaux. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "As if there were not enough stony minerality in the Pruliers, the 2005 Nuits-St.-Georges Les Cailles lives up to its name, tasting as though its fruit had been macerated on cherry pits and pebbles. Its bitter-sweetness extends to notes of vanilla and chocolate that accent a deep black fruit concentration. Vivid, palpable density and old vines creaminess on the palate lead to a richly fruited but not at all superficially sweet, deeply meaty, and decidedly chalk- and stone-inflected finish of amazing refinement and penetration, indeed of Grand Cru length. Densely packed and vibrant, with concentrated berry fruit accented by pepper and spices from the stems. Firm tannins will support slow development in bottle. 2009 Clos Rougeard Saumur-Champigny
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2009 Clos Rougeard Saumur-Champigny ((91-92RP), 91VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted from multiple barrels (largely used Bordeaux First Growth and new handiwork from a local tonnelier), the materials for Clos Rougeard's basic 2009 Saumur-Champigny--from parcels on relatively clay-rich soil--were gassy from recent completion of malo but a wonderful combination of fresh, tart-edged blackberry and elderberry; tobacco-, peat- and black tea-like smokiness; along with chalk and iodine made for an intensely aromatic, palate-staining show that finished with vibrant interaction of meats, juicy berries, and minerals. This combines verve and brightness with seamless richness and is apt to make for a wine that will demand at least a couple of years in bottle and be worth following for 6-8. The portion in new Loire barrels incidentally -- and employing any new wood on this cuvee represents an experiment prompted by the vintage -- was nearly black, sweetly ripe,

Bid on this bottle of 1959 Lafite Rothschild, Pauillac (99RP, 98VN, 98WS, 97ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted 9 Times With Consistent Notes Except For One Corked Magnum. The 1959 is unquestionably the greatest Lafite-Rothschild that has approached full maturity. It remains to be seen whether vintages such as 1982, 1986, and 1990 will reach a similar height. The super-aromatic bouquet of flowers, black truffles, cedar, lead pencil, and red fruits is followed by one of the most powerful and concentrated Lafites I have tasted. Medium to full-bodied, velvety-textured, rich, and pure, it is a testament to what this great estate can achieve when it hits the mark. This youthful wine will last for another 30 or more years. Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 2007 Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe "La Crau" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (96RP, 95JD, 95WS, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Vieux Telegraphe may be the greatest wine made at this property since the 2005 and 1998. Dense ruby/purple-tinged with an exquisite nose of salty sea breezes, licorice, ground pepper, jammy black cherries, black currants, figs, and plums, this is a full-bodied, rich, Provencal-styled offering with lots of sweet, ripe tannin. It is surprisingly accessible for a Vieux Telegraphe (this wine normally shuts down several years after bottling), but it should have great longevity (25+ years) given its power, full-bodied mouthfeel, and enormous length and richness. This is a brilliant effort from brothers Frederic and Daniel Brunier. (RP) 96+" (10/2009)

2006 Domaine Hudelot-Noellat Richebourg Grand Cru
Bid on this bottle of 2006 Domaine Hudelot-Noellat Richebourg Grand Cru (94BH, (92-94VN)). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Initially this was somewhat like the 2006 RSV as the nose was reduced though unlike the RSV the reduction rapidly blew off to reveal an intensely spicy and layered dark berry fruit nose that remains entirely primary and youthful. There is excellent intensity to the tautly muscular, cool and mineral-inflected big-boned flavors that are supported by a firm tannic spine on the powerfully long and driving finish. This highly promising effort is still very much on the way up and should age beautifully for years." (04/2015)

2010 Domaine de la Vieille Julienne "Reserve" Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2010 Domaine de la Vieille Julienne "Reserve" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (100JD, 99RP, 96VN). Jeb Dunnuck: "Possibly the wine of the vintage and a mind blowing Châteauneuf-du-Pape, the 2010 Domaine de la Vieille Julienne Châteauneuf-du-Pape Reserve is off the charts and delivers a vivid, complex, and detailed bouquet of sappy flowers, violets, licorice, black currants, and smoked earth-like qualities on the nose. Full-bodied and perfectly put together on the palate, this powerful, elegant Châteauneuf-du-Pape has incredible richness and depth, yet stays light, ethereal, and weightless in the mouth. Up there with some of the greatest young wines I have ever tasted, it needs 5-7 years of bottle age and will evolve beautifully for over two decades." (09/2012)

1999 Ausone, St-Emilion
Bid on this bottle of 1999 Ausone, St-Emilion (95RP, 94WS, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Is the 1999 Ausone the wine of the vintage? Dense purple color, a compelling bouquet of licorice, minerals, black and blueberry liqueur, extraordinary delineation, high tannin, superb extract, and phenomenal richness all are the stuff of a legend. This wine seems impossible to have emerged from a vintage like 1999. Proprietor Alain Vauthier produced only 20,000 bottles because he eliminated one-fourth of the tiny crop. The result is out-and-out fabulous, but the wine needs 12-15 years of cellaring. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2050. (RP)" (04/2002)

Bid on this bottle of 2010 Lucien Le Moine Bienvenues-Batard-Montrachet Grand Cru ((94-96RP), (92-95ST)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Slow out of the gates, the 2010 Bienvenue-Batard-Montrachet starts off subtly, then literally explodes on the mid-palate. Honey, almonds, tangerine and flowers are some of the many nuances that are laced throughout this utterly refined, impeccable Burgundy. The 2010 is intensely perfumed and delicate throughout. The delineated, vibrant aromas and flavors all mesh together on the huge, layered finish. Dazzling pretty much sums it up. (AG)" (08/2012)

1978 Petrus, Pomerol
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1978 Petrus, Pomerol (91JG). John Gilman: "The 1978 Château Lafleur-Pétrus is one of the finest Right Bank wines I have tasted from this vintage. The wine offers up a lovely and complex nose of cherries, nutskin, a beautiful base of soil tones, pomegranate, a touch of soy, fresh herb tones and a fine topnote of smokiness. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and very nicely balanced, with plenty of depth at the core, gentle tannins, tangy acids and excellent focus and grip on the long and complex finish. There is absolutely no sense here of imperfect ripeness and the wine is a very fine, svelte middleweight in its plateau of peak drinkability." (05/2016)

2009 M. Chapoutier "Le Méal" Ermitage Rouge
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 M. Chapoutier "Le Méal" Ermitage Rouge ((98-100RP), 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Ermitage Le Meal’s black/purple color is accompanied by notes of forest floor, bouquet garni, creme de cassis, beef blood and ink as well as a layered, opulent, full-bodied, massive mouthfeel. Extravagantly rich, it will be reasonably drinkable in 5-7 years; it is built for 50+ years of cellaring. All three of these wines have skyscraper-like textures and amazing purity, richness and depth. It is hard to believe any other producer could eclipse what this trilogy represents in quality, longevity and winemaking statesmanship. One has to admire Michel Chapoutier for producing wines that are not meant for immediate gratification or for turning the heads of consumers right out of the bottle. These wines are meant to help establish his legacy long after most of us have disappeared. (RP)" (02/2011)

2002 Léoville-Las-Cases, St-Julien
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2002 Léoville-Las-Cases, St-Julien (95RP, 94WS, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Only 43% of the production made it into the final blend of this remarkable 2002. Produced from a low 17 hectoliters per hectare, it includes 66.7% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14.5% Merlot, 13.9% Cabernet Franc, and the rest Petit Verdot. It has the highest alcohol ever achieved in a Leoville Las Cases (13.5%) as well as a lofty pH of 3.85. Nevertheless, the impression is one of a structured wine with considerable density, a ruby/purple color, layers of flavor, and a classic overall personality. The wine exhibits pure black currant, licorice-infused fruit, huge body, a viscous mid-palate, and a long, heady finish. I suspect this wine won’t be nearly as charming as the 2003 in its youth, but it hasn’t yet closed down, and I am amazed at just how rich, intense, and full-bodied it tastes even after bottling. This is certainly one of the half dozen or so candidates for wine of the vint

Bid on the 3-bottle lot of 2005 Domaine Faiveley Latricières-Chambertin Grand Cru (92-95BH, 92ST) Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A very deftly, indeed almost invisibly oaked nose sets off the elegant earth and iron-infused red berry fruit aromas and mineral-infused, pure, understated and wonderfully vibrant flavors that are built on a base of minerality and possess superb finishing detail on the structured and hugely long finish. This is a wine for the patient and will easily last 25+ years."

Bid on this bottle of 2005 Larcis-Ducasse, St-Emilion (100RP, 95VN, 94ST, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "With an unbelievable nose of licorice, tapenade, black cherry and blackcurrant liqueur, as well as full body, super-sweet tannin, and astonishing richness and length, this prodigious effort in 2005 announced the resurrection of this great terroir on the slopes near Château Pavie. Dark garnet/plum/purple, this is compelling stuff and drinkable already, but capable of lasting another 25-30 years. This beauty is not to be missed! (RP)" (06/2015)

2004 Pichon-Baron, Pauillac (375ml)
Bid on this 3-half-bottle lot of 2004 Pichon-Baron, Pauillac (375ml) (93RP). 93 points Robert Parker: "An undeniable star of the vintage, Pichon-Baron’s 2004 boasts an inky/ruby/purple color to the rim as well as a big, sweet nose of melted licorice, chocolate, black currant jam, truffles, and charcoal embers. Soft tannin, full body, and abundant opulence and flesh are atypical for the vintage character, but this wine is loaded. Pure, ripe, and evolved, it should be at its finest between 2009-2022." This is no exception; it charms as well as excites with vibrant fruits as well as serious, dense tannins and acidity that promise good aging. Give it 7-9 years for full maturity to begin." (11/07) 93 points Robert Parker: "A distinctive bouquet of violets, soy, pepper, blackberries, cassis, and tree bark gives this 2001 a singular style. This dense ruby/purple-colored blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 36% Merlot, and a whopping 14% Petit Verdot exhibits plenty of structure, wonderful sweetness, a closed style, but a rich, textured, persistent character. The unusually large percentage of Petit Verdot gives the wine more structure and less initial charm. This beauty needs some time in the cellar. An
