1980 De Fargues, Sauternes
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1980 De Fargues, Sauternes (91RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A great vintage for de Fargues, the 1980 from this estate is very powerful, opulent, and exotic. The bouquet of coconuts, apricots, grilled almonds, and spicy oak is sensational. In the mouth, the wine is decadently rich, full bodied, and remarkably similar in taste, texture, and viscosity to d’Yquem. Retasted twice in 1989 with equally enthusiastic notes. (RP)" (01/1998)

Full-bodied, with loads of cream and vanilla and an intense tropical fruit and honey aftertaste. Long and viscous, with a layered and beautiful spicy finish. Hard not to drink it now. *#4 on Top 100 of 2008, Highly Recommended* (JS)" (03/2008)

2013 Orin Swift D66 "Pharaon" Côtes Catalanes
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2013 Orin Swift D66 "Pharaon" Côtes Catalanes (96RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2013 Cotes Catalanes Pharaon is a tiny production release that’s the top six barrels in the winery. A blend of two-thirds Grenache and one-third Syrah that was aged in equal parts new and used oak, it has thrilling notes of crème de cassis, licorice, vanilla bean and crushed rock to go with a big, full-bodied, decadent, yet still elegant and classy profile on the palate. This beauty opens up in the glass and shows more violet and floral-like nuances. Give it a year or so in bottle and drink it through 2023. (JD)" (04/2015)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Domaine de Montille Volnay 1er Cru "Brouillards" (91BH). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This is aromatically much more reticent at present with more obvious floral and spice influence along with the somber and quite earthy red berry fruit notes. There is good richness and intensity to the medium-bodied and fleshy flavors that possess an emphatic finishing austerity. I like the Cistercian character this displays though it will not be to everyone's taste. Note that I suspect the current reserved quality will pass with a few years of bottle age." (05/2011)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 J.N. Gagnard Chassagne Montrachet Les Blanchots Dessus (93BH). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "The barest hint of SO2 isn't enough to materially diminish the appeal of the otherwise ripe mixture of white and yellow orchard fruit, lemon zest and reserved stone hints that carry over to the impressively rich and voluminous flavors that ooze with palate staining dry extract. There is an inconspicuous hint of wood to the energetic and overtly muscular finish that delivers outstanding duration. Impressive and well-worth considering." (06/2012)

2010 Clos Rougeard "Le Bourg" Saumur Champigny
Bid on this bottle of 2010 Clos Rougeard "Le Bourg" Saumur Champigny (96RP, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Saumur-Champigny Le Bourg exhibits a dark red color and a deep and polished, smoky bouquet of black berries, rosemary, espresso and cedar wood. Intense and sweet, with persistent black berries and mocha aromas and an almost nutty enamel this noble, full-bodied Cabernet Franc is enormously dense and concentrated. Though still severe and far away from being developed, it is extremely well balanced and full of elegance and finesse and packed with everything a great wine needs for the next 20+ years. This Saumur-Champigny from the one-hectare cru Le Bourg, which was planted in 1948, challenges the world's finest Cabernet Francs. Although it is not easy to grab a bottle or even a case it's worth every effort. (SR)" (10/2014)

Bid on this bottle of 2009 Lynch-Bages, Pauillac (98RP, 97JS, 96WE, 96WS, 93ST, 93VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Performing even better from bottle than it did from barrel, this appears to be the finest Lynch Bages since the 2000, 1990 and 1989. According to the chateau, the 2009 has the highest level of polyphenols ever measured as well as high alcohol (nearly 13.5%). A blend of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest largely Merlot with touches of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, it is an expressive, voluptuously textured effort with unctuosity and powerful, juicy, succulent blackberry and black currant flavors, low acids, a layered, massive mouthfeel, but no sense of heaviness or fatigue. 2004 Pavie, St-Emilion
Bid on this bottle of 2004 Pavie, St-Emilion (96W&S, 95WS, 94RP, 91VN). Wine & Spirits: "A conspicuously modern wine, Pavie with its hyper-ripe fruit and substantial new oak treatment stands out as an offense to some, a glorious pleasure to others. In the case of the 2004, it carries the oak beautifully, untamed by it. The wine is wild, in fact, and quite hard to resist. The cool complexity of the tannins grows out of three terroirs: the limestone plateau, a sector of gravel and limestone and a third sector of clay. The fruit opens with thick-skinned black plum power, reverberating with feral scents and violets. Staunch and formidable, the wine is packed with life." (10/2007)

2010 Larcis Ducasse, St-Emilion
Bid on this bottle of 2010 Larcis Ducasse, St-Emilion (98RP, 97JS, 97VN, 94ST, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The wine boasts 14.6% natural alcohol and is a final blend of roughly three-fourths Merlot and the rest Cabernet Franc, cropped at a ridiculously low 19 hectoliters per hectare. Notes of licorice, garrigue, incense, smoked meats, espresso, creme de cassis and blackberry liqueur jump from the glass of this unbelievably intense wine. Remarkably full, with compelling freshness and precision, this is a fabulous effort in 2010. It will probably close down over the next several years, and not re-emerge for at least a decade, something that often happens with the bigger, richer, more muscular St.-Emilions from the limestone hillsides and plateaux. This is one of the superstars of the vintage and a profound wine. Drink it between 2020 and 2045. 98+ (RP)" (02/2013)

1996 Léoville-Barton, St-Julien
Bid on this bottle of 1996 Léoville-Barton, St-Julien (93RP, 92ST, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1996 Leoville Barton appears more youthful than the 1996 Langoa Barton in the glass with a healthy deep garnet core. The aromatics unfurl gracefully in the glass revealing briary, wild hedgerow, black truffle and sandalwood scents -- firmly in secondary aroma stage but with appreciable presence and intensity. The palate is medium-bodied with grippy tannin that form its firm and classic structure, spice, white pepper and cloves infusing the slightly animally red berry fruit. This is an adorable Léoville Barton that is occupying a very 'happy' place at the moment -- superb precision, old school claret at its best. Decant for an hour no more, then enjoy. (NM)" (10/2016)

There is a velvety texture to the delicious, round and seductive middle weight flavors that possess good verve and finesse. An opaque plum/purple color is accompanied by a glorious bouquet of burning embers, roasted meats, espresso, and sweet plum and blackberry fruit. Reticent but vibrant nose hints at fresh apple, spearmint, talc, ginger and gun metal. Rich, full, sweet and pure, with highly concentrated, brisk flavors of lime, mint and spices. The wine's glyceral richness is leavened by brisk acidity. A 2001 of uncommon energy, and extremely long on the aftertaste. (ST)" (07/2003)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Reflecting a wealth of diverse parcels literally from top to bottom in this commune, Liger-Belair’s 2008 Vosne-Romanee combines leathery, animal scents with aromas of strawberry and red raspberry, as well as a hint of decadent lily perfume. The delicacy of touch and seeming memory of the fruit’s malic acid in the form of tartness is slightly awkwardly juxtaposed with a faintly lactic note. The additional element in this vintage, and at this stage of the wine’s development, is a dominant wood element. The vanilla and tannins from the wood match well with the concentrated tannins of the fruit, which is dark, dense and tight. 1996 Pichon-Lalande, Pauillac
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 1996 Pichon-Lalande, Pauillac (97VN, 96RP, 95ST, 92WS). Vinous: "What a treat it is to taste these two Pichon Lalandes straight from the chateau’s cellar. The 1996 Pichon Lalande is stratospheric from the very first taste. The deep, layered bouquet alone is deeply transfixing. Smoke, mocha, dark spices, lavender, crème de cassis, a host of dark-fleshed fruits and a touch of warm, resonant sweetness from the French oak draw me in. All of those sensations follow through to the palate, where the wine is massive, intense and totally enveloping. Time has softened the tannins to the point the 1996 is ready to drink, but there is enough sheer concentration here to support another 20-30 years of exceptional drinking. I am not sure I possess the vocabulary to describe just how captivating the 1996 is, but I do know this: If I had an opportunity to pick up a few well-stored bottles I would take it in a nanosecond. Readers holding the 1996 should be thrilled. The 1996

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Deep ruby/purple with slightly more intensity to its hue than the 1990, this full-bodied wine still has a very roasted character intermixed with sweet chocolate Raisinet-like flavors. Sweet, overripe cherries also make an appearance in this thick, juicy, yet structured, rather powerful Tertre Roteboeuf that is aging more slowly than its more renowned sibling, the 1990. Taking a step back, the sustained chord of flavor comes into focus, revealing a limestone honey: scents of acacia, marzipan, apricot and golden citrus. Jamal Rayyis, one of our tasters with the broadest flavor library in his head, described the scent as loomi (dried lime) and dried apricot, as if walking into a Middle Eastern market. Flavor details aside, the wine’s richness softens the structural grandeur of the vintage, which is buoyed in a mineral bath of power. This will reward another ten or 20 years of age, and the bottles that remain will likely only feed the wine’s legend. " (12/2011)

2005 Domaine Rouget Vosne-Romanée
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2005 Domaine Rouget Vosne-Romanée ((91-93RP), (89-91BH)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A blend from five parcels, Rouget’s 2005 Vosne-Romanee offers a lovely, sweet scent of black fruits and flowers, incense, cumin and nutmeg. There is a striking palate counterpoint between brightly fresh black raspberry, cherry, and a creaminess of texture and caramelization of oak, finishing with beautiful, pure sweetness of black fruit liberally spiced and subtly underlain with chalk. You’d be hard pressed to find a more pristine or effusive village Vosne. One scarcely notices the structure, although I think it’s there. This is a case of 'drink it now or drink it later' – you can’t lose. (DS)" (06/2007)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2005 Domaine des Comtes Lafon Meursault 1er Cru "Les Charmes" ((93-95ST), 94BH). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "(tasted from tank) Aromas of peach and vanilla. Rich, fat and classically dry, with compelling purity to the lemon, crushed stone and mineral flavors. Perfectly integrated acidity extends the palate-staining, layered finish. With a blend of 15-, 45- and 75-year-old vines in his 1.7-hectares holding in Charmes, Lafon has the flexibility each year to make one of Burgundy's top Meursault bottlings. (ST)" (09/2007)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2009 Domaine de la Janasse Châteauneuf-du-Pape Vieilles Vignes (99RP, 95VN, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Chateauneuf du Pape Vieilles Vignes is considered by many observers in Chateauneuf du Pape to be the wine of the vintage, and it can most certainly be counted among the finest. A blend of 80% Grenache and the rest Syrah and Mourvedre tipping the scales at 15.5% natural alcohol (which is slightly less than the Chaupin), the wine has an inky black/purple color as well as incredible density and richness, with notes of soy, blackberry, and blueberry liqueur, incense, acacia flowers and licorice. The layered, full-bodied mouthfeel displays no heat, but the wine has massive concentration and a silky, smooth finish. Because of the low acidity in the 2009s, and sweet tannins, this has turned out to be a glorious example of Chateauneuf du Pape to drink over the next two decades. (RP)" (10/2011)

2005 Pierre Gaillard "Côte Rozier" Côte-Rôtie
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2005 Pierre Gaillard "Côte Rozier" Côte-Rôtie. From the importer: "This is the vineyard that Guigal wishes he owned. Just above 'La Landonne,' 'Côte Rozier' produces the most peppery, deep, refined 100% Syrah wines in the Côte Brune. A monumental mouth of blackberries and grilled plums mixes with sweet tar and candied orange rinds. Perfumes of dark chocolate-covered roses and pepper jump from the glass. Harmonious power, delicious concentration."

1964 Cheval Blanc, St-Emilion
Bid on this bottle of 1964 Cheval Blanc, St-Emilion (96RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A blockbuster Cheval Blanc and probably the greatest Cheval Blanc made during the sixties and seventies, this wine still has a dense, murky garnet color and knock-out aromatics of coffee, black fruit, and spice box. The wine is opulent and fleshy with enormous glycerin and power. It is still very muscular, also with slightly robust tannins to shed, but this wine seems almost immortal in terms of longevity. My best guess is that, from pristinely stored bottles, this wine is still in late adolescence and not yet at its peak of maturity. Anticipated maturity: Now-2025. (RP)" (12/2002)

2007 Olivier Bernstein Meursault 1er Cru "Les Charmes"
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2007 Olivier Bernstein Meursault 1er Cru "Les Charmes" (91RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Bernstein 2007 Meursault Charmes leads with smoky, resinous, heliotrope, vanilla, and toasted nut aromas; comes to the palate caressingly creamy, with nut paste and honey lending a confectionary aura; and finishes imposingly long and with a surprising degree of fresh, juicy peach and apple fruit. There isn't any mystery or mineral side to this, but it is certainly going to give lots of pleasure – for how long I won't pretend the ability to predict, given that this is a brand new venture. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2003 Domaine du Pégaü "Cuvée Reservée" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (99RR, 98RP, 97WS). Rhone Report: "Close to my 12th bottle of the 2003 Domaine du Pégaü Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée Réservée and this was one of the more tight and compact bottles. The aromas are dense and pure with stunning cassis and dark fruit intermixed with licorice, meat and leather notes. The palate is full bodied, amazingly tannic and structured with gorgeous fruit, texture and length. If I had to pick just one wine to drink, this would be it. 1996 Joseph Drouhin Griottes Chambertin Grand Cru
Bid on this bottle of 1996 Joseph Drouhin Griottes Chambertin Grand Cru (92BH). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "I have experienced some bottle variation over the past few years though to be fair none of them have been poor. The expressive, cool and attractively complex array of now largely mature secondary aromas (though no sous bois) complements detailed and delicious middle weight flavors that possess fine focus and reasonably good length on the moderately austere if attractively pure and complex finish. This offers grand cru complexity and class if not the usual mid-palate concentration and while it should continue to hold for several more decades, I don't foresee much additional upside development." Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2006 Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru "Les Clavoillons" ((92-94ST)). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good pale yellow color. Superripe aroma and flavor of candied pineapple. Fat and sweet but with excellent acidity. This goes to another level on the youthfully clenched, tactile back end, which features superb citric cut, classic minerality and terrific thrust and power. Sampling this today is almost like tasting two different wines, one on the front half and the other on the back. (ST)" (10/2007)

1999 Pavie, St-Emilion
Bid on this bottle of 1999 Pavie, St-Emilion (92RP, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This wine has a very youthful color and seems to be close to full maturity, without the density of the 1998, or its successor, the perfect 2000. It has abundant foresty notes, plenty of spice box, blackcurrant and black cherry fruit, some background toasty oak, medium to full body and sweet tannin. A very delicious wine, it offers a complex and fragrant style. It should be drunk over the next 12-15 years. (RP)" (08/2015)

2010 Pontet-Canet, Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 2010 Pontet-Canet, Pauillac (100JS, 100RP, 98WE, 97WS, 95ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "An absolutely amazing wine... It comes from one of the few biodynamic vineyards in Bordeaux, but you are likely to see many more, given the success that Tesseron seems to be having at all levels, both in his vineyards and in his fermentation/winemaking. An astounding, compelling wine with the classic Pauillac nose more often associated with its cross-street neighbor, Mouton-Rothschild, creme de cassis, there are also some violets and other assorted floral notes. The wine has off-the-charts massiveness and intensity but never comes across as heavy, overbearing or astringent. The freshness, laser-like precision, and full-bodied, massive richness and extract are simply remarkable to behold and experience. It is very easy, to become jaded tasting such great wines from a great vintage, but it is really a privilege to taste something as amazing as this ... (RP)" (02/2013)

2009 Haut-Bailly, Pessac-Léognan
Bid on this bottle of 2009 Haut-Bailly, Pessac-Léognan (98RP, 97JS, 94ST, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A dense ruby/purple-tinged color offers up notes of forest floor, subtle wood smoke, mulberries, black cherries, cassis and a hint of lead pencil shavings. There is even a floral component lurking in the intricate aromatic profile. The wine is medium to full-bodied with wonderful intensity that builds incrementally and has a long, silky, luscious finish. There is plenty of tannin, but it is largely concealed by the wine’s beautiful fruit and ethereal complexity. Given its virtually perfect balance, this brilliant Haut-Bailly should age effortlessly for 3-4 decades. This is a tour de force in winemaking, particularly for readers seeking the quintessential example of a Bordeaux that combines compelling complexity and finesse with significant flavor authority and intensity ... Bid on this bottle of 2011 Domaine d'Auvenay (Lalou Bize-Leroy) Bourgogne Aligote Sous Chatelet (90RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The question is - did I under-rate the 2011 Bourgogne Aligoté a couple of years ago? Maybe so. This has a lovely popcorn and brioche-tinged nose that is beautifully defined and vibrant. The palate has a little spiciness emanating from the grape variety, wonderful balance and poise, seemingly gaining weight over the last couple of years. Utterly delicious and polished off far too quickly! (NM)" (10/2015)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Léoville-Poyferré, St-Julien (100RP, 96JS, 96WE, 95ST, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the more flamboyant and sumptuous wines of the vintage, this inky/purple-colored St.-Julien reveals thrilling levels of opulence, richness and aromatic pleasures. A soaring bouquet of creme de cassis, charcoal, graphite and spring flowers is followed by a super-concentrated wine with silky tannins, stunning amounts of glycerin, a voluptuous, multilayered mouthfeel and nearly 14% natural alcohol. Displaying fabulous definition for such a big, plump, massive, concentrated effort, I suspect the tannin levels are high even though they are largely concealed by lavish amounts of fruit, glycerin and extract. 2010 Les Forts de Latour, Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 2010 Les Forts de Latour, Pauillac (97RP, 96JS, 95WS, 94WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Bizarre as it may sound, the 2010 Les Forts de Latour is also the finest I have ever tasted from this selection, which comes from specific vineyards, not really so much a second wine as just another wine from estate holdings. A blend of 72.5% Cabernet Sauvignon and 27.5% Merlot that represents 40% of the production, this astonishing wine hit 14.3% natural alcohol. Extremely ripe and rich, it reminds me of the 1982 on steroids (and that wine is still drinking great 30 years after the vintage). Sensational notes of graphite, crushed rocks, black fruits, camphor and damp forest notes are present in this expansive, savory, full-throttle wine, which is better than many vintages of the great Latour itself from the past. (That may be a heretical statement, but it’s the truth as I see it.) This wine needs a good 5-6 years of cellaring and should age for three decades at minimum, g

1996 Domaine Arlaud Clos St. Denis Grand Cru
Bid on this bottle of 1996 Domaine Arlaud Clos St. Denis Grand Cru (94RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This spectacular wine is medium-to-dark-ruby-colored and exhibits deeply ripe black fruit aromas that give way to an explosive, fat, velvety-textured, lush, and opulent personality. This offering does not lack complexity, yet it has the same seductive qualities as Arlaud's other wines. Violets, black cherries, freshly ground white pepper, pork fat, juicy blueberries, and loads of North African spices tantalize the palate. Its admirably long and soft finish reveals loads of supple tannins. (PR)" (08/1998)
