2007 Domaine Roulot Meursault 1er Cru "Les Charmes"
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2007 Domaine Roulot Meursault 1er Cru "Les Charmes" (93BH, 92ST, 90RP). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Unlike this wine in 750 ml (see there review herein), there was no touch of unabsorbed sulfur on the nose though there was a mild note of reduction that still allowed the aromas of acacia blossom, hazelnut and brioche to be appreciated. There is good richness to the detailed, textured and silky medium-bodied flavors that caress the palate on the minty and still noticeably tight finish. Not surprisingly in magnum format this is still very much on the way up so I would recommend giving this at least another 5 to 10 years of cellar time first." (12/2015)

2010 Domaine de Montille Volnay 1er Cru "Brouillards"
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2010 Domaine de Montille Volnay 1er Cru "Brouillards" ((89-92BH)). Allen Meadows - Burghound: " Rose petal and lavender nuances add an elegant top note to the lightly spiced and earthy red berry aromas that include cherry and raspberry. The detailed, racy and wonderfully energetic middle weight flavors possess a discreet minerality that runs to the very end of the firm, delicious and mildly austere finish. This persistent effort is very Volnay in character yet with that little hint of mid-palate robustness that indicates that it is Brouillards." (04/2012)

2005 Domaine Joseph Drouhin Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2005 Domaine Joseph Drouhin Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru (96BH, (90-93ST), 92RP). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A spicy, ripe and pure nose of floral red Pinot fruit and rose petals possesses nuances of menthol, earth and a slight whiff of the sauvage that can also be found on the rich, serious and powerful big-bodied flavors that are sleekly muscled and very firmly structured yet they remain balanced, cool and harmonious on the monumentally long finish. This seems less structured than it really is as the abundant sap renders them less prominent if not invisible. While 15 to 20 years should see this at its apogee, this will still be alive and well at 50 years of age." (04/2007)

2008 Pascal Marchand Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2008 Pascal Marchand Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru ((93-94RP), 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Incorporating grapes from two sources, Marchand’s 2008 Chambertin Clos de Beze exhibits the site-typical scents and flavors of dark cherry, licorice, and rose petal, allied to Latakia tobacco-like smokiness, soy-like savor, and subtle suggestions of humus and peat. Rich and already texturally caressing yet at the same time buoyant, it finishes with palate-staining, mandible-tugging, vibratory intensity. As with a number of Marchand’s wines, my only misgiving here is a slightly detached overlay of caramel and resin notes from the barrel to which I would have thought that a wine of such strong natural personality and high pedigree might be more resistant. But in the present quite glorious context, that is practically a quibble. I would anticipate a good 15 years of satisfaction here. 93-94+ (DS)" (06/2010)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2011 Domaine Raveneau Chablis 1er Cru "Montée de Tonnerre" (94VN, 93BH, 91ST). Vinous: "The 2011 Chablis Montee de Tonnerre is all about grace. A gentle hint of spice leads to dried pears, crushed flowers, red berries and licorice. Constantly changing in the glass, the 2011 is a marvel to behold. Suggestions of smoke, graphite and licorice add layers of nuance in a magical wine loaded with class and personality. Best of all, the 2011 is relatively approachable by Raveneau standards, which means reader won't have to wait long at all to experience the magic of one of the great sites in Chablis. Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2012 Bouchard Père et Fils Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru (OWC - (93-95BH), 95ST, (88-90RP)) in original wood. Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Deep, bright red. Knockout vibrant nose combines purple and red berries, crushed stone, violet and animal fur. Lush, thick and deep but with terrific chalky energy animating the middle palate. Conveys striking depth to its red fruit and floral flavors, with the 45% new oak practically invisible today. Finishes with huge but round, noble tannins and outstanding lingering sweetness. In a more opulent style than the potentially great 2013, and probably for drinking before that wine. (ST)" (03/2015)

1986 Haut-Brion, Pessac-Léognan
Bid on this bottle of 1986 Haut-Brion, Pessac-Léognan (94RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The wine is still youthful, quite pure, medium to full-bodied, but somewhat elevated, austere tannins in the finish at age 16 are starting to make me think they will never become fully integrated. As always, making a judgment call on a wine destined to have a half-century of life is sometimes difficult, given the varying stages it goes through, but I wonder if this wine will turn out to be as profound as I once predicted. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2002 Domaine William Fèvre Chablis Grand Cru "Bougros - Côte de Bouguerots" (94BH, 93RP, 91ST). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "The subtle hint of wood spice this displayed in its youth has now been completely absorbed which gives full rein to the wonderfully complex nose of minerals, white flowers and a hint of crushed oyster shells that introduces muscular, powerful, deep and broad flavors that are blessed with superb length and terrific vibrancy. Those that may doubt that Bougros merits its grand cru status need only experience this wine to be persuaded. A great effort that is drinking perfectly now." (12/2015)

2004 "Y" (Ygrec) d'Yquem, Bordeaux Blanc
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2004 "Y" (Ygrec) d'Yquem, Bordeaux Blanc. The dry white wine of d'Yquem. The chateau produces this wine in certain years when conditions permit. 'Y' comes from the same exceptional terroir and vines as Yquem's famous sweet wines. It benefits from identical strict vinegrowing methods, but is harvested and produced differently. 'Y' is produced when the deliberate decision is made to pick certain plots of sauvignon blanc grapes at the beginning of the vintage and overripe Semillon grapes later on. This accounts for the small quantities and irregular production. There have been only 24 vintages of 'Y' since the first one in 1959! Serve with foie gras if you wish; it is also wonderful with seafood and white meat dishes.

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2006 Domaine des Comtes Lafon Meursault 1er Cru "Les Perrières" ((96-97RP), (95-97ST), 93BH). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Ripe apricot, white peach, jasmine, nut oil, fresh lime and hazelnut pour from the glass of Lafon 2006 Meursault Perrieres. Offering an amazing combination of subtly creamy richness and underlying firmness with utmost elegance and wafting floral notes, the 14 barrels’ worth of this beauty from 55 year old vines represent around 60% new wood, but it’s not noticeable as such. The finishing interplay of floral, fruit, nut oil, and mineral nuances in the finish will keep you occupied for minutes at a time, and this densely layered yet lacy Meursault should merit more than a decade of attention in the bottle as well. The subtly truffle-scented, extraordinarily mineral, tartly-fruited 2005 lacks the lift, and elegance of the 2006 but is memorably-concentrated, almost severe in finish, and brimming with potential. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2007 Bonneau du Martray Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru (94RP, 93BH, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "De la Moriniere is always at pains to caution that his white “shuts down” for several years soon after bottling, but in that case I must have tasted his 2007 Corton-Charlemagne before that happened. Cooling herbal, restrained floral and bitter-sweet hints of black currant and citrus rind on the nose lead to a luscious tide of ripe yellow plum, white peach, lime, and grapefruit tinged with chalk, salt, and iodine. A silken texture in no way diminishes the impression of clarity and refreshment. Faintly honeyed and nut oil notes add a sense of richness and depth in a finish of utmost purity of refreshing fruit; clarity to mineral nuances; and vibratory energy. When one compares the 2006 side-by-side today, the latter does indeed show a more overt stoniness and – for all of its textural richness and additional amplitude – suffers slightly in comparison with s

The oak (60% new) gives the Batard an extra dimension of sweetness and volume that the other wines here don’t seem to have. Accordingly, this needs a few more years in bottle to come together. Bid on this 12-bottle lot of 2006 Pontet-Canet, Pauillac (OWC - 95RP, 94ST, 93JS, 93WS, 92WE) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2006 is a wine to stockpile, especially for those in their thirties and forties as it needs another decade to reach maturity, after which it should keep for 30+ years. This vineyard, just south of Mouton Rothschild, has produced an opaque bluish/purple-colored 2006 with an extraordinarily pure nose of graphite, charcoal, sweet creme de cassis, and a hint of scorched earth. Incredible concentration, stunning richness, and a 60-second finish result in a wine that transcends the vintage as well as this estate’s 1855 classification. This enormously endowed, modern day classic is a legend in the making. Anticipated maturity: 2018-2050+. 95+ (RP)" (02/2009)

2009 Domaine Roulot Meursault 1er Cru "Le Poruzot"
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2009 Domaine Roulot Meursault 1er Cru "Le Poruzot" (96VN, (91-93BH), 93RP, (90-92ST)). Vinous: "The 2009 Meursault Poruzots literally explodes on the palate. It is a marvelous, complex, pedigreed wine that constantly changes in the glass. At times feminine and delicate, at others much more muscular, the Poruzots saturates the palate with layers of mineral drenched fruit. All of the elements flow with considerable harmony towards the explosive finish. (AG)" (08/2011)

2002 Jean-Louis Chave Hermitage
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2002 Jean-Louis Chave Hermitage ((91-94RP), 92WS, (90-91ST)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the candidates for the Rhone Valley’s 'wine of the vintage' is Chave’s 2002 Hermitage. A draconian selection has resulted in a deep ruby/purple-colored offering revealing sweet notes of melted licorice, briery berries, earth, and herbs. Medium to full-bodied, pure, elegant, and intense, this forward-styled Hermitage appears to be better than the 1992, 1993, and 1994, which are all fine wines that are holding up well. The 2002 should be at its peak between 2005-2015. What Chave accomplished in the extremely challenging 2002 vintage is unquestionably noteworthy. Not because of tiny yields and small grapes, but due to Chave’s decision to eliminate every grape except the very best, 2002 is a small crop. (RP)" (12/2004)

James Suckling: "Gorgeous ripe fruit character, with loads of blueberries, blackberries and flowers. Full body, with velvety tannins and a fruity, fresh, grapefruit aftertaste. Really beautiful. Best ever from here. Best after 2018." (02/2012)

2006 Nicolas Potel Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2006 Nicolas Potel Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru ((91-94ST), (90-93BH), 93RP). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Deep red. Wild, complex nose melds raspberry, leather and game. Silky and round but with lively mineral pungency giving definition and grip to the flavors of raspberry and gibier Finishes with substantial tannic power, a subtle saline character and superb length. This is all "real" Charmes, notes Potel, who told me that he made 100 barrels of grand cru red wine in 2006. (ST)" (03/2008)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2011 Domaine de Montille Volnay 1er Cru "Les Taillepieds" ((91-94BH), 90ST). Allen Meadows - Burghound: " *Sweet Spot Outstanding* There is enough reduction present to mask the nuances of the nose though the floral character does sneak past the funk. There is a wonderfully silky texture to the intense mineral and soil-inflected medium-bodied flavors that display really lovely delineation on the moderately austere and very firmly structured finish that delivers outstanding depth and length. This should improve for years to come and this is really most impressive." (04/2013)

2012 DRC Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Grands Échézeaux Grand Cru
Bid on this bottle of 2012 DRC Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Grands Échézeaux Grand Cru (95RP, 95VN, 94BH, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Grands Echézeaux was picked on September 22, 24 and 25, at 27 hectoliters per hectare. Compared to the Echézeaux the nose is more demure, perhaps more refined, does not feel the urge to "put it all out" as it were. Reticent is the word - yet the precision and delineation is undeniable. The palate is medium-bodied with very supple tannin, here a mixture of red and black fruit, a little broodier and more introspective than its "cousin" but with greater persistence in the mouth. It unfurls on the finish: hints of dry tobacco and cedar, leaving you with the impression of a "masculine" Grands Echézeaux, one built for the long haul. (NM)" (02/2015)

1959 Latour à Pomerol, Pomerol
Bid on this bottle of 1959 Latour à Pomerol, Pomerol (98RP, 91WS). Robert Parker: "Among the 1959s, Latour and two of the three Pomerols, Latour a Pomerol and L'Eglise-Clinet, stole the show. I have previously enjoyed the greatness of the 1959 Latour a Pomerol. Once again this wine exhibited huge, coffee, melted caramel, sweet jammy red and blackcurrant/cherry-scented nose and flavors. Unctuous, thick, and oh, so decadently rich, this blockbuster Pomerol is fully mature, and needs to be drunk up, an enticing proposition for the fortunate few who still possess this wine. "

2006 Hudelot Noellat Clos Vougeot (1.5L)
Bid on this 2-magnum lot of 2006 Hudelot Noellat Clos Vougeot (1.5L) ((91-94BH), 93WS, 92ST). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A noticeable touch of wood spice adds nuance to the otherwise earthy and relatively somber red pinot fruit where notes of underbrush and a hint of animale are also present. The big and well-muscled flavors possess fine concentration and lovely texture on the brooding and youthfully austere finish that is not only very firmly structured but delivers seriously impressive length. This is a powerful wine by any standard but particularly so in the context of the vintage and one that will need at least a decade to be at its best." (01/2008)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2012 Domaine Raveneau Chablis 1er Cru "Montée de Tonnerre" (95VN, 94BH, 92RP). Vinous: "Petrol, graphite, smoke, slate and white stone fruits grace the palate in the 2012 Chablis Montée de Tonnerre. Vivid and utterly crystalline, Raveneaus's 2012 is a great essay into to qualities of one of the great - maybe the single greatest - 1er Cru site in Chablis. The 2012 has a few more new oak than is typically the case, as most of the new barrels in this vintage were used here. A thrilling finish rounds things off in style. (AG)" (08/2014)

2000 J.F. Mugnier Musigny Grand Cru
Bid on this bottle of 2000 J.F. Mugnier Musigny Grand Cru ((91-94ST), 93BH, 92RP). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Full red, but not darker than the Amoureuses. Sappy, deep aromas of raspberry, minerals and flowers. Offers a very ripe flavor of liqueur-like raspberry but is still quite tightly wound and dominated by its structure. More austere, even monolithic today, and showing less detail than the Amoureuses, perhaps because this was the last wine to be racked. Best now on the long, subtle, stony back end. (ST)" (03/2002)

1988 Ausone, St-Émilion
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1988 Ausone, St-Émilion. From Michael Broadbent: "Very deep. Virtually opaque; despite its youthfulness, very forthcoming, excellent fruit, of distinctly first-growth quality; fairly full-bodied, very rich, packed with fruit, high extract, slight taste of tobacco and new oak, spicy, good length. Should turn out well. Tasted at the chateau, April 1989 **** (four of five stars) Drink 2000-2020. (The New Great Vintage Wine Book)

Bid on this 6-half-bottle lot of 2011 Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey Meursault "Narvaux" (375ml) ((89-91BH), 91ST, 91VN). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Pale yellow. Reticent nose hints at pear, clove, menthol and wet stone. Concentrated and penetrating, with harmonious lemony acidity framing and carrying the smoke and lemon flavors. At once dense and crisp, and nicely long on the aftertaste. Needs some time in bottle to express itself. (ST)" (09/2013)
