2009 Domaine Fourrier Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru "Les Goulots" Vieille Vigne
Bid on this bottle of 2009 Domaine Fourrier Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru "Les Goulots" Vieille Vigne (94RP, (91-93ST)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Goulots is rich, ripe, sensual and totally inviting. The fruit is round and very beautiful, but the wine is so young I can only imagine what might develop in the coming years. The fruit positively explodes on the finish, where floral, spiced overtones add the final layers of complexity. This is a stunning bottle in every way. Anticipated maturity: 2019-2029. 2010 Domaine Niellon Chassagne-Montrachet
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2010 Domaine Niellon Chassagne-Montrachet (90ST). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Pale, bright yellow. Musky white peach and pear aromas complicated by nuances of tangerine, menthol, stone and flowers. Juicy, pure and intense, showing lovely vibrancy and inner-mouth tension. This classic Chassagne finishes gripping and long, with flavors of white peach and white flowers. An excellent village wine, and much more bracing than a sample I tasted from barrel a year ago. 1975 Lafite Rothschild, Pauillac
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1975 Lafite Rothschild, Pauillac (92RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1975 is a powerful Lafite, and troublesome bottles tend to reveal more tannin and funkiness than others, which have a roasted character, combined with a gravelly, mineral underpinning. As this wine has aged, it appears to be less of a sure bet. In most cases, it has been an outstanding wine, as the bottle tasted in December suggested. The aromatics indicate the wine is fully mature, but the tough tannin level clearly underscores the dark side of the 1975 vintage. This wine will undoubtedly last for another 30+ years, but I am not sure the fruit will hold. It is a perplexing wine that may still turn out to be an exceptional Lafite. (RP)" (02/1996)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "An undeniable star of the vintage, Pichon-Baron’s 2004 boasts an inky/ruby/purple color to the rim as well as a big, sweet nose of melted licorice, chocolate, black currant jam, truffles, and charcoal embers. Soft tannin, full body, and abundant opulence and flesh are atypical for the vintage character, but this wine is loaded. Pure, ripe, and evolved, it should be at its finest between 2009-2022. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2013 Corton Charlemagne Grand Cru, which comes from a small parcel in Pougets just below the large trees and sees no new wood, has a delineated bouquet with clear honey and lemon curd scents, the mineral/stony notes lying in wait just behind. The palate is crisp and poised on the entry. The acidity is wonderfully judged and lends real tension to this Corton Charlemagne, while there is a convincing level of energy on the finish. Pure, precise, extremely deep aromas of raspberry and minerals; another dimension here. A huge, mouthfilling wine that conveys an impression of great volume without any excess weight. This takes over the palate in a grand cru way. Extremely youthful and perhaps already beginning to shut down. Finishes with huge but silky tannins and palate-staining persistence. Allen Meadows - Burghound: "*Outstanding* (from vines situated in the very best part of En l'Ormeau that average 50 years of age) This is notably more reserved, indeed the nose is almost inexpressive at present with only grudging hints of pear and roasted nuts that are also reflected by the beautifully detailed and quite sophisticated mouth feel, all wrapped in a balanced, intense and impressively long finish for a villages. The Beaux Monts has a light, well-defined bouquet with crushed strawberry, red cherries, white flowers and a touch of white peach, so feminine and precise. The palate is medium-bodied with firm, ripe tannins, structured with just a touch of pepper on the masculine, tobacco tinged finish. Very backward and surly, orange rind on the aftertaste…absorbing. 1990 Margaux, Margaux
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 1990 Margaux, Margaux (100RP, 98ST, 96WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I had this wine both in Seoul, Korea in February, and from my cellar in December, 2008, and it was remarkable how identical the wines smelled and tasted. It offers an extraordinary aromatic display of spring flowers, camphor, sweet red and black fruits, a hint of licorice, and no evidence of its 100% new oak cask aging. Round and generous with low acidity, but an opulent, full-bodied richness that is fresh with laser-like precision, this stunning wine is just beginning to reach its plateau of full maturity, where it should remain for another three decades. A sensational effort, it is one of the legendary wines made at Chateau Margaux. (RP)" (06/2009)

The Chambertin Clos de Bèze 2011 from Bruno Clair has a very succinct bouquet with red cherries, crushed strawberry and a deft touch of bergamot that is detailed and focused. The palate is medium-bodied with succulent, ripe tannins and very well-judged acidity that keeps the whole thing tense and poised. Jacques Selosse "Le Bout du Clos Ambonnay" Blanc de Noirs Extra Brut Champagne
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of Jacques Selosse "Le Bout du Clos Ambonnay" Blanc de Noirs Extra Brut Champagne (96RP, 94VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The NV Extra-Brut Grand Cru Le Bout du Clos is all about power, depth and pure structure. The weight and gravitas of Ambonnay comes through beautifully in this intense, layered Champagne. Hard candy, wild flowers, mint and spice are some of the many notes that take shape in the glass. The current release is a blend of vintages 2004 and 2005, two years that are very much complimentary in nature. I drank several bottles of the Bout du Clos during a recent trip in Italy, and was never let down. This is a gorgeous showing. Today the Bout du Clos has an implosive, huge minerality that keeps the wine from being fully expressive, but in another few years, the wine should start to be even better than it is today. Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1996 Bruno Paillard "Nec Plus Ultra" Brut Champagne (98W&S, 94ST, 94WS). Wine & Spirits: "From its initial scents that bring fossilized oyster shells to mind, this wine seems to defy time with its youthful energy. It has the raciness of the 1996 vintage without any aggressive edges. The power and tension of the wine feels encapsulated by the structure, yielding hints of Moorish spices and darker tones of salted plums and truffles. But it’s the brightness of the wine that gets the heart racing. The flavors last for minutes and the wine will likely last for decades." (12/2011)

2009 Domaine Jean-Louis Chave Hermitage
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2009 Domaine Jean-Louis Chave Hermitage (100RP, 98WS, 96ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The greatest wines Chave has produced since 2003 are the two cuvees of 2009 Hermitage. The 2009 Hermitage exhibits a black/purple color along with a sumptuous nose of roasted meats, ground pepper, black currants, blackberry jam, and subtle smoke and licorice. The extraordinary bouquet is followed by a wine of extravagant intensity as well as tremendous focus and precision. While not as powerful as the blockbuster 2003, the amazing 2009 may turn out to be a modern day version of their magnificent 1990 (which is drinking incredibly well at present). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Raphael served this 2009 Meursault les Rougeot blind following my tasting through his 2012s. It has a gorgeous waxy, honeysuckle bouquet with apricot blossom and fig jam aromas. It is exotic compared to the Coche-Dury style, but you won't complain. 1992 Petrus, Pomerol
Bid on this bottle of 1992 Petrus, Pomerol (90RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1992 Petrus is clearly one of the two candidates for the 'wine of the vintage.' The normal production of 4,500 cases was severely reduced to only 2,600 cases, resulting in an atypically concentrated, powerful, rich wine with a dark, saturated ruby/purple color, a tight but promising nose of sweet black-cherry fruit, vanillin, caramel, and herb-tinged mocha notes. Concentrated and powerful, with superb density of fruit and richness, as well as wonderful sweetness to its tannin, this is a brilliant effort for the vintage. The wine requires 3-5 years of cellaring and should keep for 15-20+. (RP)" (12/1994)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2007 Domaine Arnaud Ente Meursault "La Sève du Clos" ((90-92BH), 92RP, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "There are five barrels this year of Ente’s 2007 Meursault Le Seve du Clos from ancient vines in the Ormeau, as compared with just three in 2006. Musky, narcissus-like florality and ocean breeze salinity and alkalinity in the nose are joined by lemon, yellow plum, white peach, and high-toned herbal essences on a persistently invigorating and mouth-wateringly saline palate, virtually fat-free -- though boasting a slick of glycerin -- and athletic in its leanness and energy. The mineral matter here seems to stick to my teeth, not to mention my gums, along with toasty and faintly bitter notes of nuts and peach kernel. Ethereal floral and herbal distillates and an almost electric tingling of citrus add allure to the wine's formidable, penetrating finish. (DS)" (12/2009)

1999 Domaine Faiveley Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum lot of 1999 Domaine Faiveley Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru (1.5L) (93BH, 91ST). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "(from 45+ year old vines). Always one of the most consistent performers in the Faiveley portfolio, the '99 Mazis is nothing short of superb with its beautifully dark ruby color and deep, brooding aromas of earth, iron, traces of leather and dried herbs followed by intense, penetrating, full-bodied, rich, slightly wild, gamey flavors all perfectly framed by outstanding fruit/acid balance. Though not quite as detailed and mineral-laden as the equally impressive '99 Latricières, this too is very long with terrific persistence and simply oozes the unmistakable class and power of a Gevrey grand cru. There is so much pinot baby fat that this is deceptively approachable now but it will age and improve for at least a decade and drink well for another. A very impressive effort. Try from 2009+" (04/2002)

1988 Pierre Bourée Fils Clos de Vougeot
Bid on this bottle of 1988 Pierre Bourée Fils Clos de Vougeot. The Bourée family approaches winemaking as it has since its founding in 1864: carefully, deliberately, with an eye toward tradition. No wonder these are age-worthy gems. Indeed, they demand cellar time before they open up to the drinker. The Burgundy Report agrees: "These wines need – indeed beg – time in the cellar, and from what I tasted their blend of elegance and aromaticity deserves to be successful – I only hope that there is still sufficient patience in today’s marketplace for Burgundy wines that need to be cellared." Wine Spectator: "Ripe, opulent and complex, this smoothly burnished wine is glowing with plush, toasty berry and cherry flavors that hint at vanilla and nutmeg on the long, polished finished. Seductive now, but should be at its best after 1993 to '94. " (07/1990)

1996 Lanson "Gold Label" Brut Champagne (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum lot of 1996 Lanson "Gold Label" Brut Champagne (1.5L) (92ST). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Fruit-driven aromas of orange gelato, tangerine and minerals. Fat and sweet on entry, then dense and rich but vibrant in the middle, with powerful fruit flavor of clementine. Like fresh-squeezed orange juice. Shows off the vintage's exhilarating combination of sweetness and acidity. Finishes very long and young, with powerful acidity carrying the fruit. The best bottle I've tasted from Lanson in years. 1971 Climens, Barsac
Bid on this bottle of 1971 Climens, Barsac (94RP, 93JS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I have had some of the fabled mature vintages of Climens (the 1947 and 1949 come to mind immediately), but the 1971 remains my favorite mature vintage of this wine. It is a classic Climens, powerful yet restrained, rich and opulent, yet also delicate. This wine has superb balance, a long, lively, crisp finish, and moderate sweetness kept light and delightful by excellent acidity. It is one of the finest Barsacs I have ever tasted. The honeyed pineapple character, so much a personality trait of this wine, is abundantly displayed. (RP)" (12/1997)

Bid on this magnum lot of 1998 Taittinger "Comtes de Champagne" Brut Blanc de Blancs Champagne (94WE). 94 points Wine Enthusiast: "A delicious, welcoming, generous wine that also manages to keep the pure, mineral character of Chardonnay. It has a very direct, linear, steely taste. Great acidity plays a part, as do ripe, fruity flavors and fine balance. This wine should develop well, but it’s delicious now." (11/1/2006)

1975 Palmer, Margaux
Bid on this bottle of 1975 Palmer, Margaux (90RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1975 Palmer has consistently been one of the top wines of the vintage. The color remains a dark ruby with no signs of amber. The wine reveals plenty of sweet fruit in the fragrant bouquet. Although more tannic than most top vintages of Palmer, this is a full-bodied, rich, concentrated wine with the vintage's toughness and high tannin well-displayed. Yet I believe it possesses enough sweet fruit and extract to stand up to the tannin. Shockingly, the most developed bottle of 1975 Palmer I have tasted was from an Imperial several years ago. From my cellar, the wine is still very young, and in need of another 5-7 years of cellaring. It has another 20+ years of evolution. (RP)" (02/1996)

Bid on this magnum lot of 2009 Domaine Lucien Boillot & Fils Gevrey-Chambertin "Les Cherbaudes" (1.5L) (93RP, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Cherbaudes flows from the glass with tremendous depth and richness. Dark blue and black fruit, violets and licorice are some of the many nuances that emerge over time as the wine becomes more delicate and feminine with air. This is another 2009 endowed with considerable freshness and verve. Anticipated maturity: 2019-2029. (AG)" (04/2012)

1982 Gruaud-Larose, St-Julien
Bid on this bottle of 1982 Gruaud-Larose, St-Julien (98RP, 96ST, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A massive wine that is clearly of first-growth quality in this vintage, the 1982 Gruaud Larose remains a youngster. A broodingly dense, thick, unctuously textured, inky/plum/garnet/purple color offers up scents of beef blood, steak tartare, cassis, herbs, tobacco, and underbrush. One of the most concentrated wines of the vintage (as well as one of the most concentrated Bordeaux’s I have ever tasted), it is a huge, full-bodied, weighty, rich wine whose tannins are getting silkier and silkier. It appears set for another 30-40 years of life. This behemoth is a singularly profound example of Gruaud Larose that continues to justify its legendary status. Anticipated maturity: now-2050. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2007 Domaine Arnaud Ente Meursault 1er Cru "La Goutte d'Or" (91RP, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Ente’s 2007 Meursault Gouttes d’Or exhibits stony and briny elements one might have predicted given both the site and the wines that went before in his vintage collection. A lovely counterpoint between bright citrus and salt on the one hand and toasted grains and nuts with a hint of honey on the other lends this a distinctive dynamic and – for all of its overtly mineral cast – considerable charm. Zesty, invigorating, and palpably chalky in its long finish, this promises future richness...(DS)" (12/2009)

Bid on this magnum lot of 2011 Hubert Lamy St-Aubin 1er Cru "Les Frionnes" (1.5L) (91BH). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "*** Outstanding - Top Value *** This is not quite as elegant but it's every bit as aromatically complex with its nose of essence of pear, dried flowers and citrus peel scents. There is a relatively generous mouth feel to the tension-filled and impressively precise and intense flavors that are even more saline in character, indeed this seems borderline salty on the otherwise clean and very dry finish. This too is most impressive." (06/2013)

2008 Pignan "Réserve" Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Bid on this bottle of 2008 Pignan "Réserve" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (91VN). Vinous: "Bright red. High-pitched aromas of redcurrant, raspberry, rose petal, and Asian spices, lifted by a mineral quality. Suave, silky and alluringly sweet, offering penetrating red fruit flavors and slow-mounting florality. This refined, focused wine stains the palate with perfumed flavors of raspberry and garrigue. This has the juicy acidity and spine to reward cellaring but I find it awfully delicious now. (JR)" (03/2011)
