2009 Domaine Ponsot Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru
Bid on this bottle of 2009 Domaine Ponsot Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru (92BH). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This is exceptionally ripe with dense aromas of cassis, plum and earth. There is excellent phenolic maturity to the equally ripe and very concentrated, even opulent flavors that hint at an underlying minerality on the long but slightly flat finish. To be sure, this is very impressive in it sheer size and weight yet it is borderline too ripe for my taste and lacks a bit of energy. In fairness, it's entirely possible that this is suffering a bit from the recent bottling as some wines do become fatigued. If so my score will seem unduly conservative in time." (01/2012)

Full-bodied, with polished velvety tannins, plenty of fruit and a cedary aftertaste. Tight and compacted. This is better than the 2000 Mouton. It's a baby 1986 Mouton. Solid and very, very fine. The mouth coating and extract rich medium weight plus flavors possess excellent focus on the linear, deep and highly energetic finish. Worth considering. *Sweet Spot Outstanding*" (01/2011)

2010 Domaine Coche-Dury Meursault
Bid on this bottle of 2010 Domaine Coche-Dury Meursault (92ST, 90BH). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Aromas of orange oil and wet stone. Juicy on entry, then rather strict in the middle, showing noteworthy power and tension, not to mention terrific precision of stone fruit and citrus flavors. Not yet expansive; in fact, this village wine is the closest 2010 to austere today. Owing to the low volume of grapes in 2010, Coche-Dury used 15% new oak here, vs. a normal 10%. (ST)" (09/2012)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Gevrey-Chambertin Clos St. Jacques is deep, round and powerful. The intense tannins are beautifully matched by the intensity of the fruit. Expressive mentholated, spiced notes develop in the glass, adding complexity and gravitas. The fruit turns positively explosive on the finish. Explosive aromas of black cherry, black cardamom, licorice, minerals and crushed stone, all lifted by a piquant suggestion of blood orange. Imploded, palate-saturating wine with outstanding depth and energy. Conveys the power of Musigny without any impression of weight. Perhaps most impressive today on the back end, which features insidious saline minerality, outstanding thrust and length, and noble tannins. Leaves the taste buds quivering. Bid on this bottle of 2009 Domaine Joseph Roty Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru "Les Fontenys" (93JG, 92BH, 92ST). John Gilman: "The old vines in Fontenys can often produce a rather dense style of wine when young, but this has not been the case with this lovely 2008 and 2009 versions chez Roty. The wine offers up an impressive degree of transparency on both the nose and palate, with the bouquet providing lovely aromatic fireworks of plums, black cherries, coffee, grilled meat, fresh herb tones, a very clear base of dark soil tones, woodsmoke and nutty new oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and quite plush on the attack, with a sappy core of fruit, impressive soil drive, ripe tannins and superb length and grip on the focused and classy finish. Perhaps these last two vintages are the best young examples of Roty Fontenys I have ever had the pleasure to taste! " (06/2012)

Wine Spectator: "Looks browning and tired, but smells raw and untamed, with a powerful core of braised chestnut, flint, currant paste, bittersweet cocoa and brick dust. The long, grip-filled finish echoes with blood sausage, cedar and prune. Despite its power, the riveting acidity keeps this focused and driven. Drink now through 2026. (JM)" (05/2007)

Bid on this 500 ml 1-bottle lot of 2003 Huët "Cuvée Constance" Vouvray Moelleux (500ml) (100RP, 98WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The color of the 2003 Vouvray Moelleux Cuvée Constance (poured from the 500 ml bottle) is as golden-orange as is the small paper strip label. On the nose this wine is an unreal beauty, combining perfect fruit ripeness and concentration with precision, finesse and spicy/mineral flavors that are quite rare in sweet wines of this top level. Smooth, nobly elegant, perfectly balanced and highly intense on the palate, this is a wine to die for. Its finesse and weightless intensity is beyond worth. Surely the finest Huet I ever tasted. The Domaine Huet in Vouvray is one of the few world class producers in the Loire Valley. Its reputation was built by 1910-born Gaston Huet and the Le Haut Lieu, a top single vineyard site that was bought by his parents in 1928 with three hectares under vines, all Chenin Blanc. This is not as dense as the Bâtard but the intense stoniness and huge length is impressive. " (07/2009)

Bid on this bottle of 2010 Jean-Noël Gagnard Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru "Les Caillerets" ((92-94BH), 94VN). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "As is often the case, this possesses the most elegant nose of the range with its attractively layered aromas of lemon-lime, pear, white flower and wet stone hints where the latter element can also be found on the pure and impressively concentrated medium-bodied flavors. The mouth feel is at once suave yet precise and I very much admire the intensity and sense of underlying tension on the citrusy, long and bone dry finish. 2006 Mommessin Clos de Tart Grand Cru
Bid on this bottle of 2006 Mommessin Clos de Tart Grand Cru (93BH, 93RP, 93VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This is silken in its sumptuous smoothness and finishes with a vibrant sense of palate-staining fruit intensity and grip. For all the persistent impression of sweetness present, in the end there is brightness as well. Depth here comes via chocolate richness, whereas I would personally have welcomed some signs that mineral or animal mystery was in the offing. Almost certainly, though, this will keep well for a decade or more, during which it might gain in interest or intrigue to match its sheer sweetness and unctuousness of fruit..."

Layers of minerality provide the backbone as this subtle, gracious wine seems to waft from the glass. Reserved, weighty, and rich on the palate, it is a good choice for young readers who have the time to wait for it to come into focus and shed some of its tannin. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2030. P.S. Full-bodied, dense purple in color, with floral notes intermixed with blackberries, cassis, graphite and spring flowers, this full-bodied, legendary effort is long and opulent, with wonderfully abundant yet sweet tannin, a skyscraper-like mid-palate and a thrilling, nearly one-minute finish. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This is an extraordinary performance once again from the Cathiard family, the proprietors of Smith-Haut-Lafitte. They think the 2010 is even better than the 2009. (I disagree, but only slightly.) This wine has laser-like definition in its an remarkable nose of a subtle charcoal fire interwoven with spring flowers, creme de cassis, blueberry liqueur and spicy wood. 2008 Pascal Marchand Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru
Bid on this bottle of 2008 Pascal Marchand Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru ((93-94RP), 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Incorporating grapes from two sources, Marchand’s 2008 Chambertin Clos de Beze exhibits the site-typical scents and flavors of dark cherry, licorice, and rose petal, allied to Latakia tobacco-like smokiness, soy-like savor, and subtle suggestions of humus and peat. Rich and already texturally caressing yet at the same time buoyant, it finishes with palate-staining, mandible-tugging, vibratory intensity. As with a number of Marchand’s wines, my only misgiving here is a slightly detached overlay of caramel and resin notes from the barrel to which I would have thought that a wine of such strong natural personality and high pedigree might be more resistant. But in the present quite glorious context, that is practically a quibble. I would anticipate a good 15 years of satisfaction here. (DS) 93-94+" (06/2010)

There is a really attractive sense of energy and even more minerality on the precise, dusty, focused and impressively intense medium weight flavors that possess outstanding complexity and terrific length. This is a knockout for its level. *Outstanding. Top Value*" (01/2012)

1989 Domaine Henri Sorrel "Le Gréal" Hermitage
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1989 Domaine Henri Sorrel "Le Gréal" Hermitage (95RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I suspect this is one of those nearly immortal examples of the vintage that will last for 40-50 years. How often can one say that about modem-day Bordeaux or Burgundies? The color is black/purple, the nose reluctantly offers up smells of tar and spices (including soy), smoke, coffee, and cassis. In the mouth, there is a heady, chewy ripeness, extraordinary presence, and an almost massive amount of weight and fruit, all crammed into a well-delineated, rich, backward, tannic, sublime wine that is a benchmark example of red Hermitage. Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2012 Domaine Louis Michel Chablis 1er Cru "Butteaux" Vieilles Vignes (92VN, (90-91RP), 90BH). Vinous: "Deep, dense and powerful, the 2012 Chablis Butteaux Vieilles Vignes captures the essence of this old-vine parcel while maintaining plenty of the freshness and verve that are the hallmarks of Butteaux. Overall, the 2012 is a vertical wine built on pure old-vine structure. Ideally, the 2012 needs another year or more in bottle, but it is terrific. The Vieilles Vignes was bottled a full seven months later than the straight Butteaux. (AG)" (08/2014)

2000 Domaine Jacques-Frédéric Mugnier Musigny Grand Cru
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2000 Domaine Jacques-Frédéric Mugnier Musigny Grand Cru (93BH, 92RP, 92ST). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A fabulously complex nose that has now gone almost fully secondary aromas with floral notes to the mostly black fruit scents that enjoy added breadth in the form of anise, dried herbs and a touch of smoke. The medium-full flavors offer exceptional focus and such richness that this seems almost liqueur-like, all wrapped in a hugely long and mouth coating finish. As is typical of the Mugnier style that despite all the fireworks, this manages to remain discreet, harmonious and perfectly balanced. While there is plenty going on, this is not a particularly big Musigny yet it is superbly refined, classy and extremely pure. In short, this is class in a glass and this delivers knock out quality for the vintage. For my taste this is drinking perfectly now though I underscore that it should continue to do so for years and there might even be a small amount of upside

2012 Hudelot Noellat Clos Vougeot Grand Cru
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2012 Hudelot Noellat Clos Vougeot Grand Cru (93BH, (91-93RP), 93VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru comes from 0.69-hectare of vine from 3 parcels, two close to the chateau and the other down towards the Route Nationale. It has a feminine, floral bouquet with touches of bergamot and raspberry preserve developing in the glass. These aromatics are very alluring even at this primordial stage. The palate appears vibrant with crisp tannins; underpinned by taut red berry fruit with fine mineralite flourishing towards the finish. This is very classy – another over-achieving 2012 wine from Burgundy’s most famous clos. (NM)" (12/2013)

Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 2008 Clos Saint-Jean "Deus Ex Machina" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (96RP, 93JD, 92VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I think the wine of the vintage, the 2008 Chateauneuf du Pape Deus ex Machina again shows how good this estate is, even in difficult vintages. Giving up beautifully ripe black cherry, currant, licorice, ground herbs and hints of pepper, it’s full-bodied, beautifully concentrated, rich, structured and layered on the palate. While it will age gracefully, it too is a superb drink now. (JD)" (08/2014)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2013 Frédéric Magnien Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru "Lavaux St. Jacques" ((90-92BH), (89-91RP)). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A brooding and distinctly cool nose exhibits notes of black cherry, violets, underbrush, humus and plenty of sauvage character. There is excellent intensity and fine detail to the mineral-driven and sleekly muscular medium-bodied flavors that possess a suave mid-palate that rapidly changes to austerity on the firm, serious and ever-so-slightly rustic finish. Note that this is a wine that will definitely require patience." (01/2015)

2001 DRC Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Montrachet Grand Cru
Bid on this bottle of 2001 DRC Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Montrachet Grand Cru (94BH, (92-94RP), 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Domaine de la Romanee-Conti’s policy of late harvests for their Montrachet leads to forward, expressive wines with boisterously flavorful personalities. The 2001 was picked at 14% natural potential alcohol and reveals some hints of botrytis. Buttered toast, hazelnuts, and smoky spices are found in its aromatic profile. This plush, intense wine admirably combines muscular power with elegance. Light to medium-bodied, it is a fresh, delineated, spice-laden effort that is packed with pears and minerals." (06/2003)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1999 Philipponnat "Clos de Goisses" Brut Champagne (95RP, 95VN, 94BH, 94WE, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1999 Clos des Goisses flows from the glass with the essence of minerals, chalk, smoke, ash, white peaches, pears, flowers and sweet oak. This is a muscular, powerful wine that needs serious bottle age to come around, yet it possesses striking clarity and detail in its aromatics and flavors. Clos des Goisses is one of the most rewarding wines to drink when mature, and I have no doubt this will be another splendid version. This refined, sumptuous wine is not to be missed. Clos des Goisses is 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay, and 30% of the wine was fermented in oak. This bottle was disgorged in March 2007. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2024. (AG)" (12/2008)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2012 Lafite Rothschild, Pauillac (OWC - 96WE, 95JS, 94WS, 91RP) in original wood. Wine Enthusiast: "Showing the serious side of Lafite, this is big and dark, powered by tannins as much as fruit. The wood aging is still showing, although that will integrate into the great structure that holds up the ripe black currant fruits. Totally dominated by some of the finest Cabernet Sauvignon in Bordeaux, this wine has strength while also having great freshness. Drink from 2024. *Cellar Selection* (RV)" (05/2015)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I can’t say the same thing about the 2010 Cornas, as it’s crazily backwards, concentrated and structured, and needs some bottle age to round into form. Nevertheless, the incredible quality is present in its purity, focus, full-bodied richness and awesome finish. Give it another 3-4 years and enjoy it over the following 15-20 years (if not more). 99+ (JD)" (08/2014)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Bruno Clavelier Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru "La Combe d`Orveaux" Vieilles Vignes (93BH, 93ST, 92WS). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good bright red. Sexy aromas of red fruits, coffee, wild herbs, exotic spices and smoky minerality. Rich and creamy yet at the same time savory and vibrant; spreads out impressively to saturate the mouth with red fruit and spice flavors. Finishes with serious dusty tannins, excellent length and plenty of force. Bruno Clavelier describes 2009 as "a vintage of material, strong but tasty," and this wine is a perfect demonstration of this combination. (ST)" (03/2012)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Apricots, peaches, smoke and licorice are some of the many nuances that jump from the glass in the 2010 Meursault Charmes. The 2010 possesses stunning textural richness and depth all the way through to the voluptuous, palate staining finish. In 2010, Jobard’s Charmes is pure elegance. (AG)" (08/2012)

Bid on this 3-magnum lot of 2009 Pontet-Canet, Pauillac (1.5L) (100RP, 98JS, 96VN, 96WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "An amazing wine in every sense, this classic, full-bodied Pauillac is the quintessential Pontet Canet from proprietor Alfred Tesseron, who continues to reduce yields and farms his vineyards biodynamically – a rarity in Bordeaux. Black as a moonless night, the 2009 Pontet Canet offers up notes of incense, graphite, smoke, licorice, creme de cassis and blackberries. A wine of irrefutable purity, laser-like precision, colossal weight and richness, and sensational freshness, this is a tour de force in winemaking that is capable of lasting 50 or more years. The tannins are elevated, but they are sweet and beautifully integrated as are the acidity, wood and alcohol (which must be in excess of 14%). This vineyard, which is situated on the high plateau of Pauillac adjacent to Mouton Rothschild, appears to have done everything perfectly in 2009. This cuvee should shut down i

2010 Montrose, St-Estèphe
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2010 Montrose, St-Estèphe (100RP, 97JS, 97WS, 96WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This is considered to be among the greatest vintages ever made in Montrose, right up with the 1929, 1945, 1947, 1959, 1961, 1989, 1990 and 2009. Harvest was October 15 to 17. The wine has really come on since I last tasted it, and it needs at least another 10 years of cellaring. The blend was 53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 37% Merlot, 9% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot. The wine is opaque black/blue, with an incredible nose of blueberry and blackberry liqueur, with hints of incense, licorice, and acacia flowers. Tannins are incredibly sweet and very present. The wine is full-bodied, even massive, with great purity, depth and a finish that goes on close to a minute. This is a 50- to 75-year-old wine that will repay handsomely those with good aging genes.
