2010 Léoville-Poyferré, St-Julien
Bid on this bottle of 2010 Léoville-Poyferré, St-Julien (98RP, 98WE, 95JS, 94ST, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The wine out distances both Leoville Las Cases and Leoville Barton, but all three of them are compelling efforts. Full-bodied, dense purple in color, with floral notes intermixed with blackberries, cassis, graphite and spring flowers, this full-bodied, legendary effort is long and opulent, with wonderfully abundant yet sweet tannin, a skyscraper-like mid-palate and a thrilling, nearly one-minute finish. This spectacular effort from Poyferre that should drink well for 30+ years. (RP)" (02/2013)

2007 Domaine William Fèvre Chablis Grand Cru "Vaudésir"
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2007 Domaine William Fèvre Chablis Grand Cru "Vaudésir" (94BH, 93RP, 93VN, 92WS). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This is even more elegant than it usually is, which is saying something as there is a good argument to be made that the Fèvre Vaudésir is the current reference standard for the vineyard though I hasten to add that it's by no means an open and shut case. A pure and almost delicate nose that is decidedly more austere than virtually any of the preceding wines opens with a classic green fruit aromatic profile brimming with Chablis character that is followed by rich, full, naturally sweet and equally powerful flavors of simply incredible purity and focus as they finish with outstanding intensity that is borderline painful. This is a dramatic wine yet perfectly composed with a pronounced stony quality and the backend is bone dry and almost salty." (10/2009)

2005 Pontet-Canet, Pauillac
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2005 Pontet-Canet, Pauillac (97RP, 96WS, 95ST, 94WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Possibly the youngest wine of all the 2005 Médocs in terms of its evolution, at age 10 the inky purple 2005 Pontet-Canet tastes more like a two-year-old wine. Loads of pure blueberry, blackberry and cassis fruit are present along with a hint of licorice and background oak. It is full-bodied, ripe, and excruciatingly fresh, vigorous and exuberant. This is a tour de force, and a sensational effort that rivals the first growths. Give it another 5-10 years of cellaring, and drink it over the following 30-40 years. 97+ points." (06/2015)

2005 Domaine Fourrier Morey-St-Denis "Clos Solon"
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2005 Domaine Fourrier Morey-St-Denis "Clos Solon" ((87-90BH)). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "The nose is somber and reserved with low key red berry and earth notes dominating the nose and continue onto the moderately rustic and frank middle weight flavors that possess excellent depth of material and should develop more complexity with a few years in bottle. A very solid villages and worth a look." (01/2007)

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2010 Pierre Usseglio "Tradition" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (93RP, 93WS, 92ST, 92WE). Wine Spectator: "This is electric, with charged-up, vivid blueberry, fig, blackberry and boysenberry fruit all drenched in pastis and toasted spice and backed by a licorice snap note that lets the finish flow on beautifully. Approachable, but no need to hurry either. Drink now through 2025. (JM)" (10/2012)

Bid on this bottle of 1982 Grand-Puy-Lacoste, Pauillac (96RP, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This is a tour de force, and one of the all-time great Grand-Puy-Lacostes ever produced, as I hope the 2000 and 2005 will become. This is an inky/purple, beefy, broad, super-rich Pauillac revealing classic creme de cassis notes intermixed with hints of spring flowers and crushed rocks. Full-bodied with sweet tannin, shocking concentration, and layers of fruit, this irresistible 1982 is still an adolescent in terms of its evolution. Anticipated maturity: now-2035. (RP)" (06/2009)

1970 Duhart-Milon, Pauillac (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum lot of 1970 Duhart-Milon, Pauillac (1.5L). In 1962, Duhart-Milon was a mess. Luckily, the Rothschild family saw an opportunity to revitalize the estate and bought up the property, cleared the land, replanted and renovated the estate. Using the same vines, technology, and skill that has brought their other properties to such prominence, Duhart-Milon was quickly revived and regained the quality that had won it the honor of fourth growth status in the 1855 classification. By 1970, Duhart-Milon was back on track and was producing excellent age-worthy wines. When well cellared, a quick decanting and a hour of patience is enough to unlock this time capsule from the 1970 vintage.

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Even better, the 2010 Chateauneuf du Pape Les Quartz offers additional depth and richness, with ample dark fruits, blackberry, crushed rock and edgy minerality giving way to a full-bodied, big, powerful wine that won’t hit prime-time for another 3-4 years. 2006 Domaine Dominique Mugneret Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru "Chaumes"
Bid on this bottle of 2006 Domaine Dominique Mugneret Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru "Chaumes". Allen Meadows writes: "As to the 2006 vintage, Mugneret told me that he began picking on 'September 23rd and it was necessary to do a severe sorting as there were a lot of under ripe berries and in a few cases, hail damaged fruit as well. Quantities were about the same as in 2005, which is to say not a lot with sugars that ranged from 12.5 to 13%. The phenolic ripeness was good if not perfect and I did a slightly softer vinification with a 15 to 18 day total cuvaison. The '06s are pretty and actually more terroir-driven than the '05s though it's hard to argue that they're better.' Mugneret had told me previously that he has reduced the toast levels on new barrels and that change has been a good one as the wood influence is more integrated and less intrusive, which with some of Mugneret's prior vintages, it could get in the way."

Bid on this bottle of 2007 Domaine du Clos du Caillou "Reserve les Clos du Caillou" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (98RP, 95ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The largest scaled and most concentrated in the lineup is easily the 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape La Reserve, which is 70% Grenache and 30% Mourvèdre that was raised all in demi-muids. Just a flat out sensational bottle of wine, it offers tons of black currants, licorice, roasted meats and toasted spice aromas and flavors in a full-bodied, seamless, perfectly balanced style that’s drunk well since release. 2006 Domaine Mugneret-Gibourg Vosne-Romanée
Bid on this bottle of 2006 Domaine Mugneret-Gibourg Vosne-Romanée (91JG). John Gilman: "No wine has moved up in quality more in the last several years chez Mugneret than the Vosne AC, which is now clearly the finest village wine made in the commune and amongst the best village wines in the entire Côte d’Or. The nose on the 2006 is beautiful, as it offers up notes of red and black plums, black raspberry, cocoa, blood orange, lovely minerality, vanilla and a topnote of woodsmoke. On the palate the wine is fullish, long and tangy, with lovely intensity of flavor, impressive complexity, ripe tannins and bouncy acidity on the long, classy finish. I buy a case of this wine every vintage, as I find it one of the best values to be had in all of Burgundy. (Drink between 2012-2030)" (11/2007)

2005 Domaine Marius Delarche Corton-Renardes Grand Cru Reserve Vieilles Vignes
Bid on this bottle of 2005 Domaine Marius Delarche Corton-Renardes Grand Cru Reserve Vieilles Vignes. About the domain: "Burgundy from Domaine Marius Delarche stands as an example of what great wine can and should be: both memorable and affordable. We first came across the family’s tiny cellars in Pernand-Vergelesses in the early 1990s, and honestly couldn’t believe what we saw, or tasted. Hidden away in this peaceful valley in the shadow of the noble hill of Corton was certainly the Côte de Beaune’s best-kept secret—gorgeous wines made by an honest winemaker for prices that reminded of decades past." (From the importer) The 50-year old vines of the Corton-Renardes were planted near the summit of the noble hill of Corton. The grapes are pressed and the must left to settle. Fermentation takes place in small vats at a temperature not exceeding 20°C for the Pernands while the Corton-Charlemagnes go straight into barrels. All the wines spend a minimum of 12 months in barrels. They have subtle aromas and are well-balanced with spicy, mineral flavours. 1953 Mouton-Rothschild, Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 1953 Mouton-Rothschild, Pauillac (95RP, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I remember a friend of mine decanting a magnum of the 1953 and sticking it under my nose to share with me the incredible bouquet. In addition to the exotic aromas of soy sauce, new saddle leather, cassis, herbs, and spices, the 1953 offers a deep ruby color with some amber at the edge. Sweet and fat, with voluptuously-textured fruit, this low acid wine has no noticeable tannin. While it may be living dangerously, it is a decadent treat if it is drunk immediately after decanting. Bid on this bottle of 1982 Margaux, Margaux (97JS, 97RP, 97VN, 96ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1982 Chateau Margaux is a wine that I have tasted many times, constantly contrasted against the 1983 to see which is better. Frankly I found that it depends on the bottle, although maybe the 1983 edges it. But it is important to assess the 1982 on its own individual merits because it is a superb First Growth. This was a great bottle: fragrant and beautifully defined on the nose that on this occasion offered a more conspicuous graphite scent, which lent it a Pauillac-like personality. Allowing the wine to open and aerate, the traits one associates with the property emerge—wilted violets and rose petals. The palate is medium-bodied, fresh and mineral-laden, that suggestion of candied orange peel on the entry segueing into layers of pure red and black fruit. There is always something effortless about this Chateau Margaux and the pixelation on the finish is up there with the very best.

It has an incredibly precise, mineral-driven bouquet with intense black fruit infused with cedar and graphite scents. It just reeks of Pauillac in an almost uncompromising, yet compelling manner. Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 2001 Domaine des Lambrays Clos des Lambrays Grand Cru (93BH, 92VN). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A mature yet attractively fresh nose offers up floral, earthy and spicy red berry fruit aromas that are showing traces of secondary development and are trimmed in just enough wood to notice. There is a really lovely mouth feel to the beautifully well-detailed middle weight flavors that display a subtle mineral streak before culminating in a complex, balanced and lingering finish where a touch of the wood influence resurfaces. There isn't much unresolved tannin remaining and for my taste this has arrived on the front edge of its peak drinkability though it should remain here for at least another decade. 2001 is an elegant vintage for this wine and I very much like it." 1999 Domaine Armand Rousseau Ruchottes-Chambertin-Clos des Ruchottes Grand Cru
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1999 Domaine Armand Rousseau Ruchottes-Chambertin-Clos des Ruchottes Grand Cru (94RP, (88-90BH)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1999 Clos des Ruchottes is tussling with the 1996 as the best of the decade. Lucid, almost iridescent in color, the bouquet explodes across the sky with voluptuous aromas of cassis, black cherries and vanilla pod. Brilliantly defined and focused, it is utterly beguiling. The palate is very well balanced with silky smooth tannins that just glide across the mouth. Cashmere! It fans out gloriously toward its crescendo with lush plum and blackberry notes, but underneath there is a minerally core to counterbalance the sheer sexiness of this wine. Fabulous, but you need patience to really appreciate it. Drink 2018-2040. (NM) 94+" (12/2013)

2000 Domaine Groffier Bonnes Mares Grand Cru
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2000 Domaine Groffier Bonnes Mares Grand Cru (92ST, 91BH). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Fresh, deep red. Huge, superripe nose combines black plum, brown spices, mocha, chocolate and roasted herbs. Voluptuous, superripe and very sweet, with a lushness of texture rare for young Bonnes-Mares. This has freshness and thrust, thanks to the inherent structure of this grand cru, but seems almost too sweet for Bonnes-Mares. Finishes very long, with sweet, fine, building tannins. Like the Amoureuses and Clos de Beze, this is in the neighborhood of 14% alcohol. (ST)" (03/2003)

Highly nuanced nose combines red fruits, minerals and flowers. Silky-sweet, thick and sappy, with outstanding richness and volume; this has fruit of steel. A perfect example of a 2003 that's superripe without being cooked. One to buy and to cellar. (ST)" (03/2006)

Allen Meadows - Burghound: "(1.2 ha of 60 to 65 year old vines in the sub-climats of Les Treux and Cruots, which is also known as Vignes Blanches)This closely resembles the style of the Beaux Monts with its lighter ruby color and ultra elegant pinot spice aromas followed by medium weight, pure, complex, quite refined flavors and a creamy, slightly toasty finish. Relatively light by the standards of many vintages of this wine but it is so elegant that is it hard to fault. " (01/2003)

1989 Angélus, St-Émilion
Bid on this bottle of 1989 Angélus, St-Émilion (95WS, 94RP). Wine Spectator: "Wow. What a reserved, yet seductive nose of milk chocolate, raspberry and mineral aromas that go on and on Full-bodied, with ultrafine tannins and a mineral, berry, blackberry and violet flavor. This is polished and racy on the palate. So young still. Why wait? But serious and classic. (JS, Web Only-2010)"

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2001 Domaine Hudelot-Noellat Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru "Beaumonts" (92BH). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "As it usually is at this address, the Beaux Monts is considerably firmer and more obviously structured with backward, subtle, tight red and black fruit and spice notes plus medium to full-bodied, velvety, pure Pinot extract flavors and a beautifully elegant, persistent, notably detailed finish. This is extremely stylish in a very understated manner. Bravo! " (01/2004)

Rich and very ripe but backward, with dense, smooth flavors of peach, minerals and powdered stone. The impression of full ripeness continues on the very long, almost pineappley finish. The highest in alcohol of these 2005s along with the Montrachet, at 14.2%. (ST)" (09/2007)

1994 Pichon-Lalande, Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 1994 Pichon-Lalande, Pauillac (91RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the stars of the vintage, this opaque purple-colored wine possesses a gorgeously perfumed, exotic, smoky, blackcurrant, Asian spice, and sweet vanillin-scented bouquet. It is followed by thick, rich, moderately tannic flavors that exhibit medium to full body, good structure, outstanding purity, and a classically layered, long, pure finish. This terrific Pichon-Lalande should evolve effortlessly for 18-20 years. Anticipated maturity: 2001-2020. (RP)" (02/1997)

Aromas of black fruits, violet pastille, licorice, mace and cinnamon. Big and concentrated but youthfully tough, with flavors of black fruits, spices and tar. Showing the animal side of this grand cru. Hugely tannic today, and a bit musclebound for me. But there's a lot of wine here. (ST)" (03/2004)

A really lovely 1er that offers grand cru quality." (01/2007)

Suave, extroverted and plump, it should be drunk over the next 8 years. (PR)" (06/2004)

Bid on this bottle of 2010 La Pousse d'Or Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru "Le Cailleret" (93BH). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A discreet touch of mineral reduction adds breath to the otherwise fresh, elegant and beautifully complex nose of acacia blossom, rose petal, spiced pear and white peach. The impressively concentrated and intensely mineral-driven medium-bodied flavors possess a textured mouth feel thanks to the abundance of dry extract that also buffers well the firm acid spine. There is excellent energy and delineation to the driving finish and overall I very much like both the impeccable balance as well as the clean and understated style." (06/2012)

Bid on this bottle of 2010 Le Clos du Caillou "La Réserve" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (100RP, 97WS, 96ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Monumental stuff in every way, the blockbuster 2010 Chateauneuf du Pape Reserve Le Clos du Caillou has put on even more richness and weight than when I tasted it on release ( and it rated 98). Inky colored, it offers up extraordinary aromas and flavors of blackcurrants, black cherry, crushed rocks, spring flowers and melted licorice to go with a full-bodied, beautifully concentrated, dense and layered profile on the palate. It needs to be tasted to be believed. Forget it for another 4-5 years, at which point it will evolve gracefully for another two decades. It’s that good (JD)" (08/2014)

2005 Gracia, St-Emilion
Bid on this bottle of 2005 Gracia, St-Emilion (98RP, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This estate is a tiny micro-treasure in St.-Emilion. Owned by Michel Gracia and consisting of less than five acres of vines, it turned out a final blend in 2005 of 80% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, but only 5,000 bottles were produced. A wine pushing for perfection, notes of blueberry and blackberry dominate, but also underlying the fruit is a strong core of minerality and flowers. Full-bodied, rich, concentrated, and absolutely pure, this is a tour de force and a prodigious effort in this great, long-lived, slow-evolving vintage. Forget it or another 5-10 years and drink it over the following 40 or more. (RP)" (06/2015)
