2006 Haut-Bailly, Pessac-Léognan
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2006 Haut-Bailly, Pessac-Léognan (95RP, 92WE, 92WS, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A superb success for the vintage, the 2006 exhibits a deep ruby/purple hue as well as a poised, classic bouquet of sweet black cherries, graphite, camphor, truffles, and a subtle hint of oak. Medium-bodied with a stunningly layered texture, impressive purity, and beautiful balance, this cuvee is haute couture in a glass. Although surprisingly approachable, it won’t hit its adolescent stage for 8-10 years, and will last for 25-30 years thereafter. Bravo!" (02/2009)

2009 Gruaud Larose, St-Julien
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Gruaud Larose, St-Julien (95JS, 95RP, 94ST, 93WE, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "As I wrote in my barrel tasting note, the 2009 appears to be the finest Gruaud Larose since their 1990. Some of my concerns about too much brett in previous vintages are long gone as the purity of the 2009 jumps out. Copious notes of sagebrush, cedar, cigar box, licorice, incense, blackberries and lead pencil shavings suggest a big Pauillac rather than a St.-Julien. Broad, rich and full-bodied with good balance and abundant, but sweet, well-integrated tannin, this big, masculine Gruaud Larose reveals remarkable finesse, richness, extract, density and a cascade of fruit that nearly hides the lofty tannins. This beauty should be at its best between 2020-2045." (02/2012)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the finest cuvees of regular Hermitage Guigal has ever produced is the 2003 Hermitage. Copiously fruity with a blackberry/cassis liqueur note, huge, flowery, almost chocolatey richness with superb freshness, purity, and a stunning thickness and opulence, this is spectacular Hermitage that should drink well for 30+ years. 2010 Domaine Grand Veneur "Vieilles Vignes" Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2010 Domaine Grand Veneur "Vieilles Vignes" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (100RP, 95ST, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A monumental effort meriting a perfect score, the super-rich 2010 Chateauneuf du Pape Vieilles Vignes is a 4,000-bottle blend of 50% Grenache, 40% Mourvedre and 10% Syrah from 55- to 105-year-old vines and was aged for 18 months in small oak. The wine offers majestic blackberry and cassis fruit intermixed with kirsch, licorice and subtle Provencal herbs in the background. It is akin to chewing meat in the mouth given its viscosity and thickness. This utterly amazing wine comes close to being over the top, but it pulls back just in time. A massive Chateauneuf du Pape (even for a 2010), it needs 5-6 years of cellaring and should age effortlessly for 25-30 years. Bravo! (RP)" (10/2012)

1982 Mouton-Rothschild, Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 1982 Mouton-Rothschild, Pauillac (100JS, 100RP, 98ST, 98WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This wine remains one of the legends of Bordeaux. It has thrown off the backward, youthful style that existed during its first 25 years of life, and over the last 4-5 years has developed such secondary nuances as cedar and spice box. The creme de cassis, underlying floral note, full-bodied power, extraordinary purity, multilayered texture, and finish of over a minute are a showcase for what this Chateau accomplished in 1982. The wine is still amazingly youthful, vibrant, and pure. It appears capable of remaining fruity and vibrant in 2082! Thank God it is beginning to budge, as I would like to drink most of my supply before I kick the bucket. This is a great, still youthful wine, and, on occasion, one does understand the hierarchy of Bordeaux chateaux when you see the complexity and brilliance of this first-growth." (06/2009)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2008 Joseph Drouhin Grands Echezeaux (OWC - 93BH, 93ST, 91RP) in original wood. Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Medium red. Pungent, highly expressive aromas of raspberry, blood orange, flowers and spices; exotic in the context of this classic vintage. Juicy, sweet and gripping on the palate, with a weightless, delicate quality to the sharply delineated flavors of raspberry, orange peel and minerals. Really effortless, classy wine, conveying an impression of extract without extraction. Finishes with suave tannins and impressive subtle persistence. A beauty." (03/2011)

1982 Lafite-Rothschild, Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 1982 Lafite-Rothschild, Pauillac (97RP, 96AG, 96JS, 95ST, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This is a denser version of the 1990 that stylistically reminds me of what the young 1959 probably tasted like. Still backward with a deep ruby/plum color revealing only a touch of lightening at the edge, the wine offers up an extraordinary nose of caramelized herbs, smoke, cedar, pen ink, black currants, and earth. The gorgeous aromatics are followed by a full-bodied, plump, rich, fleshy wine with low acidity. With 6-8 hours decanting in a closed decanter, it will offer beautiful drinking, but it needs another 5-8 years to reach full maturity. It is capable of lasting 50-60 years. (97+) (RP)" (06/2009)

2000 La Mission Haut-Brion, Pessac-Léognan
Bid on this bottle of 2000 La Mission Haut-Brion, Pessac-Léognan (100RP, 95JS, 95ST, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the wines of the vintage, the 2000 has barely budged in its evolution since it was bottled and released in 2002. After ten years in bottle, it still reveals a dense opaque purple color along with a potentially sensational bouquet of blueberries, black currants, graphite, asphalt and background oak. Extremely powerful, full-bodied and superbly concentrated with good acidity and high but round tannins, this massive La Mission-Haut-Brion should take its place among this estate’s most hallowed vintages when it hits full maturity in another one to two decades. I was surprised by just how youthful this wine tasted at age 12. If tasted blind, I would have guessed it to be around 4 to 5 years old. Anticipated maturity: 2020-2050." (08/2012)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Ducru-Beaucaillou, St-Julien (100RP, (95-97WE), 96JS, 96WS, 95ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Ducru Beaucaillou will eclipse the brilliant wines produced in 2005, 2003 and 2000. It will be interesting to see how the 2009 fares against the 2010 after twenty years of aging, but my money is on the 2009. A blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Merlot that achieved 13.5% natural alcohol, this inky purple, unctuous wine possesses classic aromas of graphite, creme de cassis, blueberries, violets, licorice and Christmas fruitcake. Full-bodied and intense with Ducru’s inimitable elegance and purity, it should firm up in the bottle after 7-10 years of cellaring and last for 40-50 years. Magnificent! (RP)" (02/2012)

Bid on this 2-magnum lot of 2010 Troplong Mondot, St-Emilion (1.5L) (99RP, 94JS, (90-94ST), 94WS, 92WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Inky, bluish/black/purple, with notes of spring flowers, licorice, camphor, graphite, and a boatload of blueberry, black raspberry and blackberry fruit, this is a powerful, full-bodied Troplong Mondot. All the building components of acidity, tannin, wood and alcohol are judiciously and impressively integrated. It is a blend of 90% Merlot and the rest equal parts Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc made by Christine Valette and her husband Xavier Pariente with the consultancy help of Michel Rolland. I-m not sure what the heady alcohol level is in Troplong Mondot in 2010 (it certainly must be in the 15%+ range), but it is well-concealed behind the extravagant, richness, full-bodied power, and pure nobility of this majestic wine. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1988 DRC Domaine de la Romanee-Conti Grands Echezeaux Grand Cru (95RP, 93BH, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I have been telling people for years that this domaine's 'best buy,' if such a label can be applied here, is the Grands Echezeaux. While it is not Romanee-Conti or La Tache, it often comes very close to those two titans, at a fraction of the price. In 1988, it is fabulous. In fact, my unedited tasting notes had the words 'fabulous' in them twice and 'awesome' once. It is decadently rich and spicy with an extraordinary perfume of violets, gamey, plum-like fruit, toasty new oak, and a finish that must last several minutes. It, like the Echezeaux, should not be consumed for at least 5 years, and should easily last until 2010 or longer. (Burgundy Book)" (01/1990)

1985 L'Eglise-Clinet, Pomerol (OWC)
Bid on this 8-bottle lot of 1985 L'Eglise-Clinet, Pomerol (OWC - 95RP, 94WS) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A superstar of the vintage... This wine still has a very saturated opaque ruby/purple color that is far less evolved than almost any other 1985. The wine has sweet cranberry, black cherry, and blackberry fruit notes intermixed with mineral, cold steel, and a hint of cedar. Rich, full-bodied, with fabulous purity, a very well-delineated feel in the mouth, enormous richness, and a long finish that goes on for nearly 45 seconds, the wine seems to grow incrementally in the glass with increasing amounts of air, and is certainly a 1985 that has evolved at a snail’s pace compared to most wines of this vintage. Bid on this 12-bottle lot of 1994 Léoville-Las-Cases, St-Julien (OWC - 93RP) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Michel Delon, a great man, is the consummate proprietor, meticulously administering this vast estate spread out along the St.-Julien/Pauillac border, separated from Latour's finest vineyard by a mere ten feet. The 1993-95 vintages from Delon are brilliant wines. Leoville-Las-Cases remains one of the irrefutable reference points for high class Bordeaux. One of the more massive Medocs of the vintage, this opaque purple-colored wine exhibits fabulous richness and volume in the mouth. Layers of pure black-cherry and cassis fruit are intermixed with stony, mineral-like scents, as well as high quality toasty oak. Medium to full-bodied, with a sweet, rich entry, this wine possesses plenty of tannin, yet fabulous extract and length. Leoville-Las-Cases is one of the half-dozen great wines of the Medoc in 1994. 1995 La Mission Haut-Brion, Pessac-Leognan
Bid on this bottle of 1995 La Mission Haut-Brion, Pessac-Leognan (95RP, 92WS, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This vintage is aging at a glacial pace and the tannins are currently more significant than their counterbalancing components of fruit and glycerin. While the word “potential” seems to be the most positive descriptor for this vintage, there are some nagging doubts about whether all the tannins will melt away and the fruit will hold. As in most 1995s, the color remains a healthy dark plum/purple. One of the bigger wines of the vintage, the ripe, powerful Merlot component has buttressed the Cabernet elements, giving the wine plenty of body, tannin and La Mission’s classic asphalt, cassis, blackberry, smoky barbecue, meaty notes intermixed with a hint of hot rocks. The 1995 is still a young wine and I am beginning to wonder if this vintage overall will resemble 1975 rather than something with more charm? Anticipated maturity: 2020-2035?. (95+) (RP)" (08/2012)

Bid on this bottle of 2009 Beauséjour (Duffau), St-Emilion (100RP, 95WS, 94JS, 94WE, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This big wine (nearly 15% natural alcohol) is a blend of 77% Merlot, 19% Cabernet Franc and 4% Cabernet Sauvignon. It boasts an opaque blue/purple color along with a gorgeous bouquet of charcoal, incense, truffles, blackberry jam, black currants, raspberries and flowers. While enormous in the mouth, the limestone soils in which the grapes are grown give the wine good freshness as well as laser-like clarity and precision. Amazing to taste, this massive, super-concentrated powerhouse comes across as ethereal and almost feminine despite its extravagant fruit, density and richness. It is a modern day legend for sure! The wine is dense, full, rich, unctuously textured and very full-bodied, with its extravagant glycerin, fruit and extract covering the wine’s somewhat tannic structure. Many experts consider this phenomenal terroir to be nearly as great as that of Ausone. Made from a classic blend of 60-70% Merlot, 20-25% Cabernet Franc and the rest Cabernet Sauvignon, this inky/blue/purple-colored blockbuster reveals wonderful notes of blackberries, crushed rocks, roasted meats, spring flowers, cedar, blueberries, graphite and a hint of vanillin. With extravagant fruit and high extract as well as a hint of minerality, this structured, massively intense effort is typical of all the luxurious, perfect or nearly perfect Pavies produced under the Perse regime (which began in 1998). While built for 40-50 years of cellaring, the softness of the vintage and its flamboyant style is slightly less apparent in the 2009 Pavie than in some of the other Perse wi

It is extraordinarily thick and voluptuous with a cool climate minerality that gives the wine an uplift and freshness that is surprising in view of its massive fruit level and high extract. The tannins are abundant, but sweet and well-integrated, as are the acidity, alcohol and wood components. Inky purple, with notes of graphite, vanillin, blackberry and cassis as well as crushed rock and floral notes, the wine has breathtaking extravagance and a luxuriant fruit quality that simply has to be tasted to be believed. 1993 Domaine du Vieux Telegraphe "La Crau" Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Bid on this bottle of 1993 Domaine du Vieux Telegraphe "La Crau" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (90RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "In 1993, Vieux-Telegraphe was able to harvest virtually all of its crop at sugar levels that produced a wine of 14% alcohol. The outstanding 1993 reveals an impressively saturated dark ruby/purple color, and a spicy, Provencal herb, pepper, black-cherry and raspberry-scented nose with a touch of licorice. Full-bodied, with firm tannin and structure (reminiscent of the 1989), as well as layered richness, this Chateauneuf du Pape has 10-15 years of aging potential. Last tasted 8/96. (RP)" (01/1997)

1975 Cheval Blanc, St-Emilion
Bid on this bottle of 1975 Cheval Blanc, St-Emilion (95ST, 90RP). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright ruby-red with a hint of garnet. Enticing floral nose offers very pure raspberry and red cherry aromas, complicated by tobacco and bay leaf notes. Then sweet, dense and smooth in the mouth, with rich red cherry, plum and peppery flavors. Finishes with still chewy but noble tannins and a trace of heat. A great Cheval Blanc that is more massive than usual, showing plenty of concentrated, complex flavors and a wonderfully rich texture. In this vintage, Cheval Blanc benefited from its earlier ripening soils, which allowed the grapes to be harvested at optimal phenolic ripeness, something that eluded other Bordeaux estates that may have picked too early. The harvest took place from September 26 to October 8. This was the first vintage of Cheval Blanc ever sold en primeur. " (10/2011)

1997 La Fleur De Jaugue, St Emilion (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 1997 La Fleur De Jaugue, St Emilion (1.5L). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A sleeper of the vintage, this excellent wine reveals copious quantities of herb-tinged, black cherry fruit, smoke, and earthy aromas. Nicely concentrated, low in acidity, with superb fruit, and overall harmony, this is a serious effort from a relatively maligned vintage. Sweet, with neither vegetal characteristics nor sharpness." 1983 Léoville-Las Cases, St-Julien
Bid on this bottle of 1983 Léoville-Las Cases, St-Julien (94RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted at the Las-Cases off-line at The Square. Many years have passed since I last tasted the ’83 Las-Cases. It is reticent at first, like and old tongue-tied friend entering the room, then it blossoms with aeration offering scents of leather, chestnut, brambly black fruit and freshly rolled tobacco. The palate is medium-bodied with melted red-berry fruits, firm tannins and superb balance. Hints of bell pepper and sandalwood furnish the long, harmonious finish. This is a wonderful wine for the vintage that is drinking perfectly now. (NM-Wine Journal)" (07/2011)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1986 Mouton Rothschild, Pauillac (100RP, 99WS, 98ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Deep garnet-black colour. An incredible array of aromas on the nose: blackberry, black cherry, tobacco, espresso, leather, black olive and loam. The palate is absolutely seamless from first impression to finish, effortlessly building layers of complexity in the mouth and leading to a very long, earth and spice finish. I can’t see how this could possibly be improvement so have no alternative but concede perfection. Drink now to 2045+. Tasted March 2009. (LPB)" (05/2009)

1962 Latour, Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 1962 Latour, Pauillac (95RP, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Latour continues to be one of the great vintages for this chateau. A dense opaque garnet color reveals amber at the edge, as well as an incredible perfume of cedar wood, balsam, coffee, black fruits, leather, and cigar smoke. The wine is supple and full-bodied, with sweet tannin, glorious levels of fruit and extract, abundant glycerin, and a seductive, truffle-flavored finish. While it has been drinkable for two decades, it is capable of lasting another 20 years. It is a perfectly balanced, exciting Latour that remains undervalued as well as underrated. (RP)" (06/2000)

2006 Joseph Drouhin Musigny Grand Cru
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2006 Joseph Drouhin Musigny Grand Cru (95RP, 95WE, 91ST, 90BH). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Musky floral notes suggesting narcissus, magnolia, and perhaps some sort of exotic orchid mingle in the nose of Drouhin's 2006 Musigny with quinine, birch beer, and kirsch. The palate boasts remarkable richness and sheer viscosity for the vintage – though little superficial sweetness – along with textural refinement that goes beyond even the best of the rest of this year's Drouhin collection. Fruit pit bitterness; brown spices; roasting pan reduction of meat and fat; and an almost palpable sense of chalky and ore-like minerality add to the mystery and invigoration of a vibratory finish. This tastes awfully delicious today, though it should probably be given a few years in bottle. It ought to perform marvelously for at least a decade. (DS)" (12/2009)

1990 Margaux, Margaux
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1990 Margaux, Margaux (100RP, 98ST, 98WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I had this wine both in Seoul, Korea in February, and from my cellar in December, 2008, and it was remarkable how identical the wines smelled and tasted. It offers an extraordinary aromatic display of spring flowers, camphor, sweet red and black fruits, a hint of licorice, and no evidence of its 100% new oak cask aging. Round and generous with low acidity, but an opulent, full-bodied richness that is fresh with laser-like precision, this stunning wine is just beginning to reach its plateau of full maturity, where it should remain for another three decades. A sensational effort, it is one of the legendary wines made at Chateau Margaux." (06/2009)

Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 2005 Beau-Séjour-Bécot, St-Emilion (94RP, 92ST, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The bottled 2005 Beau Sejour Becot confirms that this is the finest effort from this estate in the thirty years I have been covering Bordeaux. A classic blend of 70% Merlot, 24% Cabernet Franc, and 6% Cabernet Sauvignon, it is an intense, full-bodied St.-Emilion revealing notes of espresso roast, chocolate, blackberries, licorice, and truffles. With sweet but noticeable tannins, good acidity, and a powerful, long finish, this textbook St.-Emilion cuts a swath between the modern school of winemaking and the traditionalists. 1963 Lafite Rothschild, Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 1963 Lafite Rothschild, Pauillac. Famed critic Robert Parker says of Lafite: "Bordeaux's most famous property and wine, with its elegant, undersized, and understated label, had become a name synonymous with wealth, prestige, history, respect, and wines of remarkable longevity." Pauillac, a village located between Saint-Estephe and Saint-Julien on Bordeaux's Medoc peninsula, is home to some of the world's most famous and expensive wines (most obviously those of the first growths Chateaux Latour, Lafite Rothschild and Mouton Rothschild). The village has its own appellation specifically for red wines made predominantly from Cabernet Sauvignon – a variety well suited to the free-draining gravel soils found all around Pauillac.
