2004 Dom Pérignon Brut Champagne (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum lot of 2004 Dom Pérignon Brut Champagne (1.5L) (97VN, 96JS, 96W&S, 95RP, 95WS, 94ST). Vinous: "This tasting only serves to highlight just how great the 2004 Dom Pérignon is. A wine that has totally blossomed in bottle, the 2004 is firing on all cylinders right now. Rich, ample and beautifully nuanced, the 2004 has it all; expressive aromatics, deep fruit and more than enough structure to age well for decades. I have been tasting the 2004 since before it was released and it just keeps getting better and better. Today, it is stunning. It is amazing to consider that in 2004, yields were the largest ever recorded in Champagne. 97+ Points (AG)" (05/2014)

Bid on this bottle of 2000 Cos d'Estournel, St-Estèphe (94W&S, 94WE, 93JS, 92WS). Wine Enthusiast: "For a Saint-Estèphe this is surprisingly supple at this stage. The density is all in the exotic fruit, while the tannins are more of a background. That suggests this is a wine that will develop relatively fast, but it is going to give great pleasure along the way." (06/2003)

Bid on this magnum lot of 1970 Lynch-Bages, Pauillac (1.5L) (91RP, 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1970 is an old style Lynch Bages with plenty of dry tannin in the finish. Compellingly aromatic, it offers aromas of cedar wood, spice box, tobacco, earth, black currants, and new saddle leather. Spicy, concentrated, and burly, with mouth-searing tannin, this big, thick wine is a terrific example of Lynch Bages made in an older style. (RP)" (06/2000)

Of the 2007 Domaine de la Janasse Châteauneuf-du-Pape Vieilles Vignes,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "A bigger, richer, more concentrated wine than the ethereally textured Cuvee Chaupin, the 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvée Vieilles Vignes is unquestionably one of the wines of the vintage as well as one of the finest Chateauneuf du Papes ever made. Offering notes of cassis, roasted meats, beef blood and licorice, this heavenly 2007 is full-bodied, hugely concentrated and rich yet shows incredible purity, focus and precision, with no sensation of heaviness or weight. 1996 Pichon-Baron, Pauillac
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1996 Pichon-Baron, Pauillac (94RP, 90ST, 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1996 Pichon-Longueville Baron has a deep garnet core with some bricking on the rim. The nose is fragrant and generous with more red fruit than black, cedar and tobacco, fine definition, perhaps a little rustic in keeping with the winemaking at the time, but certainly giving lots of pleasure. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin -- a cohesive Pauillac with plenty of depth and fine balance. The acidity lends this plenty of freshness and it does not shortchange you with plenty of tarry, cedary fruit. You come away with the impression that this Pichon Baron is going to continue to improve although I would not burn anyone at the stake for opening it now. If you cannot afford the First Growth then this (and Pichon Lalande) would be where I would come. (NM)" (10/2016)

It is certainly powerful, but already the shape is finalized, with its plums and berries settling down with perfumes, acidity, just enough tannins and a warm, welcoming richness. Bid on this magnum lot of 2005 Barde-Haut, St-Emilion (1.5L) (93ST, 92RP, 90WS). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good full ruby-red. Explosive ripe aromas of redcurrant, minerals, chocolate mint and tomato. Large-scaled, voluptuous and sweet, with very intense berry and chocolate flavors lifted by minerals, menthol and spices. Finishes with wonderfully broad tannins and an extremely long finish that leaves the palate vibrating. From a very cold terroir (the soil is clay over rocky limestone) that takes longer to warm up each day, but in 2005 this vineyard obviously reached near-perfect ripeness. Bid on this magnum lot of 2012 Domaine Anne et Hervé Sigaut Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru "Les Fuées" (1.5L) ((88-91BH)). Bid on this magnum lot of 2009 Domaine Dublère Volnay 1er Cru "Taillepieds" (1.5L) ((91-93BH)). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This offers yet another notch up in overall refinement, particularly on the equally perfumed and refined nose where the stone component is front and center on the high-toned and ultra-pure red pinot fruit and floral suffused nose. There is an equally strong mineral component to the detailed, energetic and precise flavors that possess ample mid-palate concentration that buffers the moderately austere finish. Bid on this magnum lot of 2006 Joseph Drouhin Beaune Clos des Mouches Rouge (1.5L) (91RP, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Drouhin 2006 Beaune Clos des Mouches as usual reflects extensive acreage planted largely with old selection massale vines and pampered as a flagship. Stylistically, too, this is another world from that in the glass of this year's Beaune Greves. Here we have thought-provoking complexity of animal and mineral nuances allied to a rather brooding, dark fruit fundament with a bitter herbal edge. There is spice here as well, but of a sharply penetrating and pungent sort, suggesting raw ginger and white pepper. At the same time, this shares with nearly all of the Drouhin wines of its vintage a soothing creaminess allied to an overtly lactic flavor component which I don't find disturbing or discordant, though some might. The contrast of textural allure and pungent attack persists here into a long, satisfying and stimulating finish. I would feel confident making p

1993 Leoville Poyferre, St. Julien (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum lot of 1993 Leoville Poyferre, St. Julien (1.5L). According to Robert Parker: "Leoville-Poyferre is making greater and greater efforts to push the quality level closer to that of its neighbor, Leoville-Las-Cases. The hiring of the famed oenologist, Michel Rolland, the beginning of malolactic fermentation in barrel (started in 1994), a stricter selection process, and the construction of a superb new cuverie are all signs that Leoville-Poyferre is set to emerge as one of the stars of the northern Medoc. Dark ruby/purple-colored, with sweet, perfumed, blackcurrant fruit, this wine offers a round, supple entry on the palate, medium body, ripe fruit, not a great deal of power or volume, but fine purity, some intriguing chocolate and smoky notes, and a velvety-textured, lush finish. A high percentage of Merlot was used in the final blend, a fact confirmed by this tasty, elegant wine." (02/97)

2002 Palmer, Margaux (OWC)
Bid on this 12-bottle lot of 2002 Palmer, Margaux (OWC - 94RP, 91WS, 90ST) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A successful wine for the vintage, this blend of 52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, and 8% Petit Verdot boasts complex notes of menthol, black currants, plums, licorice, and a hint of cappuccino in its stunning aromatics. Dense, medium to full-bodied, with high levels of tannin in a big, full-bodied style (much in the spirit of such classic Bordeaux vintages as 1966, 1986, and 1996), this wine possesses superb purity and serious length, but should be purchased only by those with considerable patience and a good, cold cellar, since it will need plenty of time. Very Porty, featuring red licorice and prune on the nose. Velvety and rich, with a full palate and amazing fruit of aniseed and black licorice. It goes on and on. What freshness and beauty. 2006 Latour, Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 2006 Latour, Pauillac (96WE, 95ST, 95WS, 94RP). Wine Enthusiast: "***Cellar Selection*** Latour has always had the reputation of producing great wines in the less great vintages. The 2006 is a case in point. It brings structure and ripeness into a form that is almost ethereal. That elegance doesn’t take away from the powerful fruit. The fruit in fact melds into the structure with ease. And, as a reminder this is a 2006, the density gives way to freshness on the finish. (RV)" (03/2009)

2010 Domaine Joseph Roty Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru "Les Fontenys"
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2010 Domaine Joseph Roty Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru "Les Fontenys" (93ST). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "(75% new oak): Good dark red. Ripe, vibrant nose offers kirsch, redcurrant, cedar and a whiff of black pepper. At once silky-sweet and tangy, with lovely inner-mouth energy to the fine-grained red and darker fruit flavors. Notes of violet and minerals emerge with air. Finishes broad, lively and long, with harmonious acidity and ripe tannins giving the wine solid structure for aging. More refined than the 2011 version. Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2012 La Mondotte, St-Emilion (OWC - 95JS, 95RP, 94VN, 94WS) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "From the luxury, 12-acre boutique outpost of the Neipperg family, the 2012 La Mondotte (generally 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc) has an inky/purple color, sweet mulberry, black cherry and cassis note, stunning purity and full-bodied texture. The wine’s opulence and voluptuous character compare to its greatest vintages, such as 1998, 2000, 2005, 2009 and 2010. Its great terroir (clay and limestone soils) shines through with a stunning effort in the vintage. Drink it over the next 10-15 years. (RP)" (04/2015)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2011 Domaine Bruno Clair Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru (93BH, 93ST, 92RP). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright medium red. Vibrant aromas of blueberry, wild herbs and pepper. Intensely flavored, dense and light on its feet; at once smooth and energetic, offering an uncanny combination of black fruit lift and deeper-pitched soil tones. Remarkably seamless, even round, for a young Bonnes-Mares but with the structure and balance to reward eight to ten years of cellaring. Consistent from start to finish. 93+ (ST)" (03/2014)

Bid on this 12-bottle lot of 2009 Château de la Tour Clos Vougeot Grand Cru Vieilles Vignes (OWC - 95BH, 95ST) in original wood. Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good deep red with ruby highlights. Deep nose shows an almost roasted ripeness but also terrific lift to the aromas of black cherry, flowers, licorice, mint, wild herbs and orange peel. Like liquid velvet on entry, then highly concentrated but youthfully unforthcoming in the middle. This extremely long, palate-staining wine has the tannic force and balance to evolve in bottle for decades. Should be a cellar classic with time. (ST)" (03/2012)

1995 Haut-Brion, Pessac-Léognan
Bid on this bottle of 1995 Haut-Brion, Pessac-Léognan (96RP, 95WS, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "It is fun to go back and forth between the 1995 and 1996, two superb vintages for Haut-Brion. The 1995 seems to have sweeter tannin and a bit more fat and seamlessness when compared to the more structured and muscular 1996. Certainly 1995 was a vintage that the brilliant administrator Jean Delmas handled flawlessly. The result is a deep ruby/purple-colored wine with a tight but promising nose of burning wood embers intermixed with vanilla, spice box, earth, mineral, sweet cherry, black currant, plum-like fruit, medium to full body, a high level of ripe but sweet tannin, and a finish that goes on for a good 40-45 seconds. Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2010 Coche-Dury Meursault "Les Chevalieres" ((92-95ST), 92RP). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Peach and crushed rock on the nose. The tight palate offers a captivating sweet/tart character, with pineapple and grapefruit flavors given grip and solidity by a crushed stone element. Finishes with terrific energy and length. The crop size was down an average of 30% in 2010, and even more in the crus, notes Raphael Coche-Dury. (ST)" (09/2011)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2009 Domaine Henri Boillot Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru ((93-96ST)). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Red-ruby. Knockout nose combines dark berries, violet, bacon fat, smoke and pepper; I was reminded of a t opnotch Cote-Rotie. Lush and sweet but not quite as complex as the Chambertin and Clos de Beze. This offers extraordinary finesse and smoothness for Bonnes-Mares, with perfectly integrated acidity framing the flavors without introducing any edges to the wine. Finishes extremely long and sweet, with a subtle element of smoked meat. Boillot is convinced that this wine will shut down in bottle owing to its "tannic mass." (ST)" (01/2011)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 1996 Domaine Comtes Lafon Volnay 1er Cru "Santenots-Du-Milieu" (94RP, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This is one of Dominique Lafon’s best wines of the 1990s and easily surpasses the 1995. It has a wonderful bouquet that is very focused: raspberry, a touch of cassis, Indian ink and just a suggestion of singed leather. It has a sweet entry on the palate that is underpinned by fine tannins and an elegant, sensual finish that lacquers but never oppresses the mouth. There is wonderful tension and purity in this Volnay, perhaps in some ways auguring the style of wine post-2000. You can drink this now, though I would prefer to leave the 1996 another five years because there is a lot to come. Drink now-2026. (NM)" (12/2013)
