1996 Bernard Morey et Fils Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru "La Truffiere"
Bid on this bottle of 1996 Bernard Morey et Fils Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru "La Truffiere" (96WS, 94RP). Wine Spectator: "An extraordinary achievement that places Bernard Morey firmly in the top ranks of white Burgundy specialists. A premier cru of wonderful concentration and finesse, this ripe Chardonnay walks a tightrope between its firm acidity, ripe flavors, well-integrated toasted oak, honey and spice notes. A marvel to contemplate, it has length, complexity, personality and purity. Bravo. (PM)" (08/1998)

Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "(just finished its malo): Bright yellow. Pure but reticent nose hints at flowers and clove. Penetrating and firm-edged, showing bright acidity and a firm spine of minerality. Distinctly imploded on the palate, with an almost tannic quality to the flavors of ginger, pear skin and menthol. Refined aromas of orange, acacia flower and spices. Then penetrating, quite dry and backward in the mouth, with great finesse to its flavors of citrus peel, licorice, spices and minerals. This distinctly uncompromising wine shut down quickly in the glass. An aristocratic premier cru that calls for seven or eight years of patience. (ST)" (07/2011)

2012 Dominique Laurent Vosne Romanee Aux Reignots Vieilles Vignes
Bid on this bottle of 2012 Dominique Laurent Vosne Romanee Aux Reignots Vieilles Vignes ((91-93ST)). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "(100% vendange entier; 100% new oak): Good dark ruby. Oak-influenced aromas of mocha and milk chocolate lifted by a floral topnote. Silky and liqueur-like, with good harmonious acidity but not quite the primary character of the Beaumonts, showing redder fruits, a distinct saline character, nutty oak and complex soil tones. I miss the floral lift of the Beaumonts but this is still extremely rich." (01/2014)

Allen Meadows - Burghound: " *Sweet Spot Outstanding* There is enough reduction present to mask the nuances of the nose though the floral character does sneak past the funk. There is a wonderfully silky texture to the intense mineral and soil-inflected medium-bodied flavors that display really lovely delineation on the moderately austere and very firmly structured finish that delivers outstanding depth and length. This should improve for years to come and this is really most impressive." (04/2013)

High-toned, pure aromas of cherry liqueur, blueberry, mocha, mace and mint. Sweet, fat, spicy and explosively rich, with an impression of strong acids deriving from the wine's pervasive minerality. Urgent flavor of crushed blueberry mounts slowly and lingers long on the ripely tannic finish. Very deep and very suave. 93(+?) points." (03/2004)

2002 Domaine Jean-Louis Chave Hermitage
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2002 Domaine Jean-Louis Chave Hermitage ((91-94RP), 92WS, (90-91ST)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the candidates for the Rhone Valley’s 'wine of the vintage' is Chave’s 2002 Hermitage. A draconian selection has resulted in a deep ruby/purple-colored offering revealing sweet notes of melted licorice, briery berries, earth, and herbs. Medium to full-bodied, pure, elegant, and intense, this forward-styled Hermitage appears to be better than the 1992, 1993, and 1994, which are all fine wines that are holding up well. The 2002 should be at its peak between 2005-2015. What Chave accomplished in the extremely challenging 2002 vintage is unquestionably noteworthy. Not because of tiny yields and small grapes, but due to Chave’s decision to eliminate every grape except the very best, 2002 is a small crop. (RP)" (12/2004)

Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This is more aromatically complex still with a beautifully floral nose of rose petal, violet and lavender as well as liqueur of red currant and black cherry. The hallmark minerality of this wine is very much in evidence on the palate staining flavors that possess a silky and highly sophisticated mouth feel while culminating in a dusty, explosive and gorgeously long finish. This does that wonderful slow build from the mid-palate to the finale and this should age exceptionally well." (04/2012)

Pungent spices, mocha, chocolate and black cherry on the nose; this could only be from Morey-Saint-Denis. Big and rich, with a captivating sweetness to the soil-driven notes of smoke, meat, iron and leather. The subtly long finish throws off notes of leather, smoke and spice. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit, a slight balsamic note toward the finish that exerts and insistent grip, a pleasant saltiness appearing on the aftertaste. Indeed, they demand cellar time before they open up to the drinker. The Burgundy Report agrees: "These wines need – indeed beg – time in the cellar, and from what I tasted their blend of elegance and aromaticity deserves to be successful – I only hope that there is still sufficient patience in today’s marketplace for Burgundy wines that need to be cellared." Sweet on entry, then suave but youthfully tight in the middle, with sexy oak tones adding to the wine's inner-mouth aromatic character. 2014 Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey Bourgogne Blanc
Bid on this 7-bottle lot of 2014 Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey Bourgogne Blanc. It may have a simple classification, but this blend of young St-Aubin and Puligny fruit sets the quality benchmark for the entire cellar. A perennial favorite! Stephen Tanzer on Colin-Morey's 2014 vintage: "Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey harvested between September 9 and 18 in 2014 in 'very warm conditions,' with potential alcohol levels ranging from 12% to 13%. 'It was an easy vintage in the vineyards and in the cellar,' he told me, adding that he did not do any chaptalization or batonnage. 'But I was never worried about having heavy wines,' he pointed out. He compares the 2014s to the 2002s but believes that the new vintage has a better balance. 'The power of the vintage is its wisdom; it had a natural balance so I didn't have to think, which is quite rare. The '14s remind me of great classic vintages like 1992 and 1985.' " (06/2015)

2012 Domaine Pinson Chablis Grand Cru "Les Clos"
Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 2012 Domaine Pinson Chablis Grand Cru "Les Clos" (93BH, 91ST). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Here the wood is less subtle as there are vanilla and toast hints in evidence on the otherwise very fresh and cool aromas of white flowers, pear, green apple and wet stone. There is notably good concentration and plenty of palate coating dry extract to the big-bodied flavors that exude a fine minerality on the saline-infused, explosive and seriously persistent finish. This will need up to a decade to reveal its full potential but thanks to all of the extract, be approachable young." (10/2014)

Wine Spectator: "Shy in aroma and linear in profile, this packs cherry, currant, pomegranate and stony flavors into a lean frame. Persistent, lingering on the finish, with echoes of sweet red fruit and mineral. Best from 2016 through 2032. (BS)" (04/2013)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2010 Roche de Bellene Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru "Les Suchots" ((92-95ST), (89-92BH)). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright, deep red. Highly perfumed aromas of raspberry, cocoa powder, mint and cumin. At once sweet and sharply delineated, with a distinctly high pitch and a light touch to the flavors of dark berries, dusty spices and flowers. Particularly explosive on the back half, finishing with steadily building flavor and firm tannins that reach the front teeth. This one makes the Beaux-Monts look oaky by comparison. (ST)" (01/2012)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Domaine Taupenot-Merme Gevrey-Chambertin . Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Gevrey-Chambertin is clearly the best of the three village wines. It possesses lovely focus in its fruit, beautifully delineated aromatics and terrific overall balance. Clean veins of minerality support the focused, energetic finish. This is a lovely showing. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2019. (AG)" (04/2012)

1993 Domaine Jean-Jacques Confuron Romanée-St-Vivant Grand Cru
Bid on this bottle of 1993 Domaine Jean-Jacques Confuron Romanée-St-Vivant Grand Cru (95RP, 92BH). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Romanee-St.-Vivant is a powerhouse, as well as a potential monument of the vintage. Made from vines planted in 1920 and yields of less than two tons per acre, this wine exhibits everything a great young Burgundy should possess. The saturated dark ruby/purple color is followed by a nose that reluctantly offers up sweet aromas of plums, black-cherries, and licorice-covered raspberries. The wine hits the palate with great fruit extraction, superb purity, medium to full body, a long mid-palate, and an impressive 35-45 second finish. While it possesses the vintage's tell-tale high tannin level, this is a profoundly concentrated wine. As always, it is a question of balance, and this wine contains both the fruit and the structure. 2002 Pichon-Lalande, Pauillac
Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 2002 Pichon-Lalande, Pauillac (94RP, (91-94ST), 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the best wines of the vintage, this is a classic Pauillac that is a blend of 51% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Merlot, 9% Cabernet Franc, and 6% Petit Verdot. Dense ruby/purple in color with a glorious nose of melted licorice, lavender, barbecue smoke, black currants, and graphite, the wine is tannic, classically structured with an opaque ruby/purple color, beautiful definition, and a 1996-ish personality. This deep, full-bodied, elegant yet powerful 2002 should age handsomely for over two decades. Some patience will be required since this vintage exhibits more muscle and virility than normal. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2025." (04/2005)

At once dense and precise, displaying superb cut to its flavors of minerals, rose petal and blood orange. Wonderfully high-pitched, fresh and long on the aftertaste. Again, Gevrey in a Chambolle style. 93+ Points" (03/2014)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2003 Léoville-Poyferré, St-Julien (96RP, 95JS, 95WS, 93WE, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The spectacular 2003 Leoville Poyferre exhibits a dense purple color with a touch of lightening at the edge as well as notes of creosote, barbecue smoke, jammy black currants, licorice and spice box. This intense, voluptuously textured, full-bodied St.-Julien possesses low acidity and ripe tannin. Still fresh and exuberant, it is just entering its plateau of full maturity where it should remain for 10-15+ years. (RP)" (08/2014)

Very ripe aromas of fresh apricot, mint, marzipan and smoky oak, with a suggestion of candied stone fruits. Big, rich and backward but a bit youthfully sullen. Outstanding intensity to the citrus, menthol and iodine flavors. As large-scaled as this is, there's no heaviness. This powerful Montrachet will need extended cellaring." (09/2011)

1996 Pontet-Canet, Pauillac
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1996 Pontet-Canet, Pauillac (92RP, 91ST, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I was shocked by how backward the 1996 Pontet-Canet was on the three occasions I tasted it in January. This wine possesses superb potential, but it appears a decade's worth of patience will be necessary. The color is a saturated dark purple. With coaxing, the wine offers aromas of black currant jam intertwined with minerals, sweet oak, and spice. A full-bodied wine, it possesses layered, concentrated sweet fruit, with an elevated level of ripe tannin. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2035. (RP)" (04/1999)

Silky and thick on entry, then rich and vibrant in the middle palate, with no impression of excess weight. Finishes very long, with unusually silky tannins for the year. Broad, sweet and deep-particularly impressive in the context of the vintage-without any loss of clarity or aromatic lift. Wonderfully suave, full wine that's also surprisingly tastable today. Finishes with noble tannins, noteworthy sweetness of fruit and terrific lift. This one should probably be laid down for seven or eight years. " (04/2007)
