Bid on this bottle of 2005 Pavie, St-Emilion (100RP, 100WS, 99VN, 96ST). Wine Spectator: " *Collectibles* I love the purity of fruit in this wine, with perfectly ripe blackberry, blueberry and raspberry on the nose. Complex and full-bodied, with hints of new oak and wonderfully polished tannins that caress the palate. Long, long finish. This is not the blockbuster it was from barrel, but rather a complete, balanced and gorgeous red. Best after 2015. (JS)" (06/2008)

Suave and fine-grained but dense and powerful too, offering intense, brisk flavors of crushed stone, flowers and herbs complimented by a soil-driven saline element. Finishes firm and long, leaving notes of lime leaf and white pepper in the empty glass." (09/2013)

2007 Maison Henri Boillot Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2007 Maison Henri Boillot Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru (97RP, 96BH, 95ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This wine is like a complex and graceful ballet between groups of dancers marked 'fruit,' 'mineral,' 'floral,' and 'animal.' These players include pear, apricot, and lime; chalk, white pepper, salt crustacean shell reduction, chicken broth, and a carpet of flowers: in short, the usual suspects. And here, too, we have soothing and seductive creaminess combined with refreshment, transparency to nuance, and electric energy (even though soothing seduction is not usually delivered by youthful Corton Charlemagne). This possesses all of these features, but to an exceptional degree, as well as a sense of purity and lift somehow perfectly compatible with detonative finishing intensity. (DS)" (12/2009)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2013 Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes, the oldest vines planted back in 1929, has a crisp, slightly leafy bouquet with a light marine influence developing in the glass. The palate is very well balanced with fine tannins, crisp acidity and plenty of dark berry fruit toward the piquant finish. Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Pure, bracing aromas of citrus skin, pineapple, minerals, iodine, nutmeg and wet stone. Then dense, vibrant and precise, with penetrating flavors of lemon ices, spices, minerals, licorice, juniper and aromatic herbs. This very rich grand cru is technically very low in acidity, yet it seems full of life and finishes firm. 92+ (ST)" (07/2005)

2007 Domaine Roulot Meursault 1er Cru "Les Charmes"
Bid on this bottle of 2007 Domaine Roulot Meursault 1er Cru "Les Charmes" (93BH, 92ST, 90RP). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Unlike this wine in 750 ml (see there review herein), there was no touch of unabsorbed sulfur on the nose though there was a mild note of reduction that still allowed the aromas of acacia blossom, hazelnut and brioche to be appreciated. There is good richness to the detailed, textured and silky medium-bodied flavors that caress the palate on the minty and still noticeably tight finish. Not surprisingly in magnum format this is still very much on the way up so I would recommend giving this at least another 5 to 10 years of cellar time first." (12/2015)

Bid on this bottle of 2007 Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe "La Crau" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (96RP, 95WS, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Vieux Telegraphe may be the greatest wine made at this property since the 2005 and 1998. Dense ruby/purple-tinged with an exquisite nose of salty sea breezes, licorice, ground pepper, jammy black cherries, black currants, figs, and plums, this is a full-bodied, rich, Provencal-styled offering with lots of sweet, ripe tannin. It is surprisingly accessible for a Vieux Telegraphe (this wine normally shuts down several years after bottling), but it should have great longevity (25+ years) given its power, full-bodied mouthfeel, and enormous length and richness. This is a brilliant effort from brothers Frederic and Daniel Brunier. 96+ (RP)" (10/2009)

1983 Ducru-Beaucaillou, St-Julien
Bid on this bottle of 1983 Ducru-Beaucaillou, St-Julien. 4 stars Michael Broadbent: "The best of nine of its peers in 1993, its bouquet fully developed, fragrant, a touch of figs, very sweet, chewy, attractive in 1998 and showing well at the Decanter tasting [Dec 1999]: mature, good flavour, good length - for an 83." According to Wine Advocate: "Château Ducru-Beaucaillou is for many, the quintessential Saint Julien; a name revered by connoisseurs from the Home Counties of England to Oriental collectors. Under the aegis of Francis Borie and his son Jean-Eugène, a succession of admirable wines established Ducru-Beaucaillou as one of finest exponents of Cabernet Sauvignon in the whole of Bordeaux...The vines of Château Ducru-Beaucaillou cover 50-hectares that surround the château building, stretching down the escarpment towards the bank of the Gironde estuary though stopping short of the actual river where the alluvial soils are too fertile for vine production. Though less fleshy and seductive than the Beauroy, this wine impresses with its nuanced core of lively fruit flavors. Lemons, limes, minerals, sage, rosemary, liquefied stones, and spices can all be discerned in its deep, focused character. (PR)" (06/2006)

Very elegant and refined on the nose: bright red-berried fruit, raspberry and wild strawberry entwined with cedar-wood and graphite. Its nose displays notes of dried honey, mineral liqueur, and spices. On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied, possesses outstanding depth of fruit, and reveals flavors of jammy black cherries (yes, this is Sauvignon Blanc), spices, flint, and yeast. 1970 Giscours, Margaux
Bid on this bottle of 1970 Giscours, Margaux. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted at the Château Giscours vertical, the 1970 Château Giscours is one of the famous wines alongside the 1961, 1966 and 1975 that made the reputation of the Margaux property. I have had great bottles in the past, although on this occasion it was 'good' but not 'great.' The color is deep for a 1970, the bouquet a little rustic with tertiary scents, a light seaweed influence, but a little frayed around the edges. The palate has faded a little since I last tasted it, the tannins a little dry, but still with commendable substance. On this occasion it was outclassed by the magnificent 1961, but I would be intrigued to see how larger formats would be showing. Tasted June 2015. (NM)" (07/2016)

There is excellent density, power and punch to the broad-shouldered flavors that exhibit an exquisitely balanced, long and wonderfully complex finish. Full-bodied and tannic, but broad, huge, and massive, this wine is still an infant and needs another 7-10 years of cellaring. This is a 40- to 50-year wine from the Bécot family. 94+ points. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Pommard Clos des Epeneaux could be Leroux’s finest so far. It has a convincing, elegant bouquet that at this early juncture bears semblances to the 2008, but ramps up the intensity without compensating on delineation, with subtle notes of spice and balsam coming through. Its inky ruby/black color is followed by off the hook aromas and flavors of plum, creme de cassis, licorice, crushed rocks and violet/incense-like qualities. There is a really lovely texture to the mouth coating and utterly delicious medium weight flavors that exude a fine bead of minerality on the bright, clean and distinctly saline-inflected finish. This is even more restrained than the Rugiens and like its stable mate, it's pointless to acquire this without the express intension of forgetting it in your cellar. That said, this offers fantastic upside potential to those who have the patience." (04/2012)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2011 Domaine J-F Mugnier Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru "Fuées" (OWC - 91ST, 90BH, 90RP) in original wood. Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright medium red. Reticent aromas of raspberry, strawberry and crushed stone. Rounder and sweeter than the village wine, with sexy herb and spice notes giving lift to the supple middle palate. Really saturates the mouth on the rising, echoing finish. Has a solid tannic spine to support a graceful evolution in bottle. Showing more stuffing than it did from barrel a year ago. Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2010 Domaine Michel Gaunoux Pommard 1er Cru "Rugiens Bas" (95BH). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "There are floral and smoked tea nuances present that add breadth to the beautifully complex earth, wet stone and pure red pinot fruit scents. There is superb intensity and strikingly good detail to the almost pungent mineral-inflected medium-bodied flavors that brim with structure-buffering dry extract, all wrapped in a hugely long and impeccably well-balanced finish. This is a classic Rugiens that combines overt power with refinement. In sum, this is seriously impressive." (04/2013)

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2010 Domaine des Lambrays Clos des Lambrays Grand Cru ((93-95VN), 94BH, 94RP, 94WS, 93ST). Vinous: "The 2010 Clos des Lambrays is striking. Dark cherries, plums, wild berries, spices and licorice are woven together beautifully in this highly expressive, singular wine. A cool vein of minerality is a common thread as the wine continues to take shape in the glass. There is a beguiling, mysterious quality to the finish I find highly attractive. This is going to be a fascinating wine to follow over the next two decades plus. (AG)" (02/2012)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 1998 Domaine Michel Lafarge Volnay 1er Cru "Clos du Chateau des Ducs" (91BH, 91ST). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright deep ruby-red. Very pure aromas of cherry, raspberry, licorice and flowers. Sharply defined and high-pitched on the palate, with pure, expressive red fruit flavors. Still rather tightly wound, owing to firm but ripe acidity. Finishes with ripe, fine tannins and lovely subtle persistence. Very elegant and distinctive Volnay. 91+ (ST)" (03/2001)

2007 Etienne Sauzet Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum lot of 2007 Etienne Sauzet Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru (1.5L) (96BH, 96RP, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "From right up against the rocks (just below the En Richard parcel that helps inform his Folatieres), Boudot’s 2007 Chevalier-Montrachet smells pungently and sweetly of lavender, buddleia, heliotrope, and citrus zest. Silken-textured and refined in texture yet positively gripping in its sense of implacable, enervative, vibratory persistence of chalk, citrus oils, white pepper, and herbal-floral concentrates, this superb representation of some of wine’s finest acreage should be worth following for a decade or more, but is another Sauzet 2007 not to be missed young. In Boudot’s view, it’s typical for Chevalier to deliver “the most immediate pleasure” of the Montrachet grand crus. Here you get surfeit of energy and near-indelible pungency as well as of uncannily seductive liquid flowers, yet with lift and supreme elegance. (DS)" (12/2009)

Firm-edged, intense flavors of citrus fruits, stone and minerals, perfectly framed by brisk acidity. Complicated by a flinty quality. This has density and persistence. Finishes with a lovely lingering peach blossom perfume. Pillot recommends pouring this wine into a carafe prior to serving it due to its solid acidity (ST)." (09/2002)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2005 Domaine Ramonet Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru "Champs Canet" (90BH, 90ST). Allen Meadows - Burghound: " A gentle touch of wood frames floral and very ripe orchard fruit aromas that include peach and apricot where these fruit characters continue onto the rich, full and notably sweet flavors that are nicely complex and deliver real breadth on the long finish where the wood resurfaces. This is surprisingly forward by the standards of this wine and already accessible." (Oct 01, 2007) 90 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Pale straw. Musky aromas of stone fruits and nut oil show good aromatic lift. Rich and broad, but with a weightless quality. The rich, broad flavors of peach, minerals, spices and mint remain classically dry, and the finish is dusty, chewy and long ... "

1999 Haut-Brion, Pessac-Léognan
Bid on this bottle of 1999 Haut-Brion, Pessac-Léognan (93RP, 92ST, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Deep plum, currant, and mineral notes emerge from the concentrated, beautifully balanced, pure 1999 Haut Brion. It seems to be cut from the same mold as years such as 1979 and 1985. There is a hint of graphite in the abundant fruit. The wine is medium to full-bodied, nuanced, subtle, deep, and provocatively elegant. It is made in a style that only Haut Brion appears capable of achieving. The finish is extremely long, the tannins sweet, and the overall impression one of delicacy interwoven with power and ripeness. Anticipated maturity: 2007-2025. (RP)" (04/2002)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2005 Domaine Bouchard Père et Fils Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru (95BH, 95ST). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Pungent stone fruits, cold steel, marzipan and charred oak on the nose. Large-scaled, tactile and quite powerful, with captivating, utterly pure flavors of pineapple, wet stone and minerals. Wonderfully sweet and smooth on the back end, with a lovely light touch, but the dusty, tactile aftertaste is stony and uncompromising. 2014 Henri Boillot Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2014 Henri Boillot Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru ((93-96VN), 95BH, 94RP). Vinous: "Pale yellow. Musky, reduced nose suggests a tannic wine, offering hints of flint and petrol. Then superconcentrated and tactile but bone-dry, conveying a powerful impression of dry extract. Boasts terrific inner-mouth energy but this wine is very tightly coiled today, with its fruit totally hidden. The very long, slowly building finish is lifted by a spicy perfume. Should make a superb vin de terroir. (ST)" (09/2015)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2004 Pichon-Baron, Pauillac (94RP, 94WE, 93W&S, 92JS, 91ST, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted at the London Pichon-Baron off-line. This is a great, great 2004 – a huge success for Christian Seely in a more challenging growing season than the ensuing one. A soaring blackberry, blueberry, cedar and wild strawberry nose with a touch of violets. Very fine tannins on the full-bodied palate, superb focus, elegant and feminine with a touch of burst toast and graphite on the finish. Great persistency. Quintessential Pauillac – at its finest. Of the 1995 Cos d'Estournel, St-Estèphe,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "A wine of extraordinary intensity and accessibility, the 1995 Cos d'Estournel is a sexier, more hedonistic offering than the muscular, backward 1996. Opulent, with forward aromatics (gobs of black fruits intermixed with toasty pain grille scents and a boatload of spice), this terrific Cos possesses remarkable intensity, full body, and layers of jammy fruit nicely framed by the wine's new oak. Because of low acidity and sweet tannin, the 1995 will be difficult to resist young, although it will age for 2-3 decades. Anticipated maturity: 2001-2025. (RP)" (02/1998)

2002 Bollinger "La Grande Année" Brut Champagne
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2002 Bollinger "La Grande Année" Brut Champagne (98W&S, 97JS, 94RP, 94ST, 94WS). Wine & Spirits: "There is Champagne, and then there is 2002 Bollinger. This wine makes me dizzy, stammering in cross-eyed bliss. Taking a step back, the sustained chord of flavor comes into focus, revealing a limestone honey: scents of acacia, marzipan, apricot and golden citrus. Jamal Rayyis, one of our tasters with the broadest flavor library in his head, described the scent as loomi (dried lime) and dried apricot, as if walking into a Middle Eastern market. Flavor details aside, the wine’s richness softens the structural grandeur of the vintage, which is buoyed in a mineral bath of power. This will reward another ten or 20 years of age, and the bottles that remain will likely only feed the wine’s legend. " (12/2011)
