Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2006 Domaine Bernard Morey Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru "La Truffières" (92BH, 91ST, 90WS). Allen Meadows - Burghound: " *Sweet Spot Outstanding* A barely perceptible trace of reduction cannot hide the elegant and very pure floral and green apple aromas that merge into textured, racy, intense and vibrant medium-bodied flavors that positively ooze a fine minerality on the driving and wonderfully detailed finish. This is a classic Truffières that is linear and equally sophisticated with that lovely Puligny finesse. Recommended." (07/2008)

At once glyceral and brisk, with citrus, herb and almond flavors enlivened by invigorating acidity. This very elegant wine tightened up with air and will need at least three or four years of patience. (ST)" (10/2013)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2011 Domaine Drouhin-Laroze Gevrey-Chambertin. Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Here too there are soft wood nuances setting off very fresh an even earthier dark berry fruit nose. There is good verve and detail to the velvety middle weight flavors that possess fine volume and length on the firm and distinctly rustic finish. This is a wine of contrasts as the suave mid-palate differs considerably from the finish." (01/2013)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2010 Haut-Bergey, Pessac-Léognan ((92-93JS), 93RP, (90-92WE), 92WS, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted blind at the Southwold Bordeaux 2010 tasting. The Haut-Bergey 2010 has a very concentrated bouquet with dense blackberry, briary, crushed stone and tobacco on the nose that unfolds in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with chewy tannins on the entry. There is a lot of extraction here, but it is in tune with the acidity and the structured finish has plenty of vibrant red fruit and energy to see it through to the long term. Tasted January 2014. Bid on this bottle of 2001 Claude Dugat Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru (94ST, 92BH, (90-92RP)). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good medium ruby. Distinctly black aromas of violet, bitter chocolate and licorice. Less expressive today than the Lavaux but lush, dense and sweet. Wonderfully expansive for the year, but not at all heavy. Finishes very sweet and perfumed, with fine, thoroughly buffered tannins and superb persistence. A very primary 2001 that will repay seven or eight years of cellaring. (ST)" (03/2004)

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2002 Bollinger "Grande Année" Brut Champagne (98W&S, 97JS, 94RP, 94ST, 94WS). Wine & Spirits: "There is Champagne, and then there is 2002 Bollinger. This wine makes me dizzy, stammering in cross-eyed bliss. Taking a step back, the sustained chord of flavor comes into focus, revealing a limestone honey: scents of acacia, marzipan, apricot and golden citrus. Jamal Rayyis, one of our tasters with the broadest flavor library in his head, described the scent as loomi (dried lime) and dried apricot, as if walking into a Middle Eastern market. Flavor details aside, the wine’s richness softens the structural grandeur of the vintage, which is buoyed in a mineral bath of power. This will reward another ten or 20 years of age, and the bottles that remain will likely only feed the wine’s legend. " (12/2011)

2002 Léoville-Las-Cases, St-Julien
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2002 Léoville-Las-Cases, St-Julien (95RP, 94WS, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Only 43% of the production made it into the final blend of this remarkable 2002. Produced from a low 17 hectoliters per hectare, it includes 66.7% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14.5% Merlot, 13.9% Cabernet Franc, and the rest Petit Verdot. It has the highest alcohol ever achieved in a Leoville Las Cases (13.5%) as well as a lofty pH of 3.85. Nevertheless, the impression is one of a structured wine with considerable density, a ruby/purple color, layers of flavor, and a classic overall personality. The wine exhibits pure black currant, licorice-infused fruit, huge body, a viscous mid-palate, and a long, heady finish. I suspect this wine won’t be nearly as charming as the 2003 in its youth, but it hasn’t yet closed down, and I am amazed at just how rich, intense, and full-bodied it tastes even after bottling. This is certainly one of the half dozen or so candidates for wine of the vint

Thick-textured, ripe but elegant, it has plenty of rich fruit, but above all, a mineral, wet earth component. Full-bodied, it's harmonious from start to finish, with wet stone and plum complexity lingering on the long, long finish. Great effort in the difficult '99 vintage. Lovely wine. (PM)" (12/2003)

Wine Spectator: " *#9 on Top 100 of 2002, Spectator Selection* Big wine, but so refined and sleek, it comes across as delicate on the palate. Plenty of finely tuned oak, with vanilla, chocolate and mocha aromas that blend into the sweet red and blackberry to produce a classy and satiny wine that is surprisingly aristocratic for this appellation. Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2007 Domaine de la Vieille Julienne Châteauneuf-du-Pape (96RP, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "With no Reserve bottling in the vintage, the 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape incorporates all of the top plots of the estate. An incredible wine that’s always performed brilliantly any time I’ve opened a bottle, it gives up layered, ripe aromas and flavors of black raspberry, crushed violets, black licorice and graphite (the wine see only very old foudre and no new oak? ever) to go with a voluptuous, concentrated and structured personality. While there’s no shortage of tannin here, they’re sweet, polished and integrated. Give it another year or two and drink it over the following decade. (JD)" (08/2014)

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2005 Henri Boillot Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru "Clos Saint Jean" (90BH). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "An extremely deft touch of wood serves as a backdrop for the floral, citrus and ripe peach aromas that marry with the rich, full and punchy flavors that also deliver a wonderfully fine sense of underlying detail on the energetic finish that possesses real length. This is on the juicy side yet the depth makes one remember that this is entirely serious and while I like the power, the only nit is that it's not quite as refined as the best of these Chassagne 1ers as there is a distinctly chewy quality to the finish." Intense black raspberry and mulberry aromas are complicated by suggestions of Asian spices, licorice and musky herbs. Bright and sappy on the palate, with a seamless texture to the spice-accented red and dark berry compote flavors. Notes of lavender and allspice carry through the long, juicy, nicely focused finish. Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 2000 Bois de Boursan "Cuvée Felix" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (96RP, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The profound, opaque purple-colored 2000 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee des Felix elicited the following words: "Mama-Mia!" A fabulous offering, it provides a lesson in the flavors of Provence. It is like an open air Provencal marketplace with notes of dried herbs, saddle leather, fennel, licorice, black cherries, cassis, blackberries, and tapenade. With tremendous concentration and purity, as well as powerful, balanced, full-bodied flavors, this stunning effort represents the nectar of old vines planted in the sun-drenched appellation of Chateauneuf du Pape. The stunning 2000 Chateauneuf du Pape Croix de Bois reveals aromas of sweet cherry liqueur intertwined with pepper, incense, and Asian spices. Allen Meadows - Burghound: " *Sweet Spot Outstanding* From .48 ha parcel of 65+ year old vines. This chameleonesque terroir can be either mostly Nuits or mostly Vosne but in 2010, it really does seem to be a beautiful hybrid of the two as the spicy and ripe dark berry fruit aromas also display a hint of the sauvage along with noticeably earth nuances. The flavors however are much more Nuits in character as they are rich, powerful, dense and concentrated with excellent phenolic maturity to the structural elements. Still fresh, concentrated and lively, with medium to full-bodied richness and polished tannin, it reveals a vibrant ruby color to go with tons of garrigue, leather, chocolate, cured meats and spice. Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2005 J.J. Confuron Vosne-Romanee 1er Cru "Les Beaux Monts" (92BH, 92ST). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good deep red. Aromas of cherry and chocolate liqueur; smells like a caramelly truffle. Sweet, round and voluptuous, but with lovely acidity giving energy to the middle palate. Dense, lush and palate-staining wine with an almost chocolatey ripeness and terrific length. Richer and sweeter than it appeared to be from barrel a year ago. (ST)" (03/2008)

2000 Reignac, Bordeaux Supérieur
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2000 Reignac, Bordeaux Supérieur (92RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "An amazing accomplishment for a Bordeaux Superieur, Reignac's 2000, a blend of 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, cropped at 25 hectoliters per hectare and aged 100% on its lees in new oak, exhibits an opaque ruby/purple color, an impressively complex nose of black currants intermixed with graphite, vanilla, and cedar. The wine is medium to full-bodied, dense, rich, and the qualitative equivalent of a top classified growth from the Medoc. Another 2000 that has to be tasted to be believed, it should drink well for 8-10 years, possibly longer. A revelation! (RP)" (04/2003)

Full-bodied, and very velvety, with unctuous fruit flavors. Long and exotic aftertaste. Terrific wine. Best after 2010." (03/2003)

Bid on this bottle of 2002 Domaine Comte de Vogüé Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru (94RP, 93VN, 92BH). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Medium ruby colour - incredibly vibrant. A bit closed to begin with just a suggestion of the complexity that was about to unfold. With coaxing, dark cherry and damp earth aromas emerge followed by cinnamon, mocha, moss, truffles and cured meats. Violets are the last to come through. Crisp acidity with a medium level of fine tannins and great concentration. Medium+ body, very long finish. (LPB)" (05/2010)

Bid on this bottle of 1991 Domain Jean-Louis Chave Hermitage (99WS, 96VN, 92ST). Wine Spectator: "Suave and seamless, with a perfectly melded core of date, dried cherry and raspberry, bergamot and blood orange notes framed by supple mesquite and rooibos tea hints. Extremely long, with mouthwatering acidity acting like a perfect set of backup singers, staying buried deep on the finish to augment and push the flavors and aromas gently. Sublime and absolutely gorgeous.—Non-blind Chave vertical (June 2012). Drink now through 2020. (Web only-2012)"

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2011 Domaine Louis Jadot Clos Vougeot Grand Cru (OWC - 92ST, 90WS) in original wood. Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good medium red. Raspberry, redcurrant and strong spicy oak on the nose. Densely packed but a bit youthfully rough today, with raspberry and spicy oak flavors framed by sound acidity and substantial dusty tannins. Plenty of breadth and energy here but this grand cru will need at least a couple more years to harmonize in bottle. (ST)" (03/2014)

2000 La Mission Haut-Brion, Pessac-Léognan
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2000 La Mission Haut-Brion, Pessac-Léognan (100RP, 95JS, 95ST, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the wines of the vintage, the 2000 has barely budged in its evolution since it was bottled and released in 2002. After ten years in bottle, it still reveals a dense opaque purple color along with a potentially sensational bouquet of blueberries, black currants, graphite, asphalt and background oak. Extremely powerful, full-bodied and superbly concentrated with good acidity and high but round tannins, this massive La Mission-Haut-Brion should take its place among this estate’s most hallowed vintages when it hits full maturity in another one to two decades. I was surprised by just how youthful this wine tasted at age 12. If tasted blind, I would have guessed it to be around 4 to 5 years old. Anticipated maturity: 2020-2050." (08/2012)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2011 Lucien Le Moine Vosne-Romanee 1er Cru "Les Suchots" (93WS, (89-92BH), 92RP, 91ST). Wine Spectator: "Goes beyond cherry to deliver bilberry and boysenberry fruit, accented by smoke and mineral notes. Linear and taut, presenting a juicy texture and driving acidity, this focused style exhibits fine length and a clear expression of site. (BS)" (04/2014)

Bid on this 3-magnum lot of 2011 Domaine de Montille Volnay 1er Cru "Les Mitans" (1.5L) (92BH, (90-92ST)). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "(100% vendange entier; 20% new oak; small, concentrated berries from old vines): Good medium red. Lovely subtle perfume of cherry and raspberry liqueur lifted by a peppery element. Sweet, dense and lively but restrained on the palate, with distinctly dark flavors of blueberry, licorice and bitter chocolate. The brooding finish features broad, palate-coating tannins. I like the peppery stem element here as it contributes energy without overpowering the wine's fruit. (ST)" (01/2013)

2008 Bouchard Père et Fils Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru (OWC)
Bid on this 12-bottle lot of 2008 Bouchard Père et Fils Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru (OWC - 95BH, 94ST, 93RP) in original wood. 95 points Burghound: "A wonderfully, even exuberantly spicy and layered nose speaks of earth, underbrush and a certain animale character on the primarily red berry fruit that moves seamlessly into cool and intensely mineral broad-scaled flavors that are powerful, vibrant and display a saline element on the stylish and classy finish that is presently quite linear and will require plenty of time to flesh out because the suggested initial drinking window is not a typo." (04/10) 93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Bouchard’s 2008 Chambertin Clos de Beze smells of dark cherry and plum, dusty crushed stone, peat, and licorice, Fine grained tannins permit a caressing palate feel that fits the wine’s sumptuously rich fruit, while mineral interest lends its long finish an almost spell-binding sense of interactivity. 2006 Domaine Faiveley Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2006 Domaine Faiveley Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru ((92-95BH), 91ST). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Here the wood is decidedly more discreet with reserved and layered earthy and slightly animale red, blue and violet aromas that introduce delicious, intense and strikingly powerful flavors that are sleekly muscled and possess serious weight and length. Despite the sheer size however, this delivers its punch with both style and grace and I found this to possess simply huge potential. Highly recommended but note that this is crafted in the classic Faiveley old school style and will require as much as two decades to reach its apogee." (01/2008)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2006 Domaine Bruno Clair Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru (95RP, 94WS, 93ST, 92BH). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Smoky black tea, rose petals, dark berries, and licorice waft seductively (and site-typically) from the glass of Clair 2006 Chambertin Clos De Beze. Seamlessly-rich and refined in tannins, this offers a gorgeous layering of flavors anchored in clean meatiness and suggestions of stoniness and crystalline minerality that carry no sense of austerity. While missing the remarkable dynamic of the Clos St.-Jacques, in its own way this supremely elegant, intriguingly-nuanced, and memorably persistent Pinot is a model for the vintage and of its great site's potential year in, year out. Plan to give it 3-4 years of rest before savoring it for the 6-8 that follow. (DS)" (12/2009)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2003 Domaine des Remizières "l'Essential" Crozes-Hermitage (93RP, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "There are only 3,900 bottles of the 2003 Crozes-Hermitage l’Essentiel. Tasting more like Hermitage than Crozes-Hermitage, it boasts a black/purple color as well as a perfume of scorched earth, bacon fat, blackberry liqueur, licorice, and graphite. This intense (15.6% alcohol), full-bodied, viscous effort will drink well for 10-15 years. (RP)" (02/2006)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2011 Domaine Denis Mortet Gevrey-Chambertin ((88-91ST), (88-90BH)). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright red with ruby highlights. Musky aromas of wild red berries show a slightly candied nuance. Then juicy and nicely delineated, delivering an enticing combination of fruit and soil notes. Finishes with a fine dusting of tannins. Mortet picked these vines early but with good phenolic maturity." (02/2013)

Musky aromas of red berries, spices and underbrush. Dense, silky and light on its feet, with lovely inner-mouth floral lift to its subtly intense red fruit and earth flavors. Nicely saturates the mouth without leaving any impression of weight. "The 2011s make you salivate," says Rossignol, who believes that they combine the generosity of 2010 with the freshness of 2008. Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2012 Domaine Robert Chevillon Nuits-St-Georges 1er Cru "Bousselots" ((89-91BH)). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "There is a gentle touch of wood spice to the very fresh, cool and pure nose that offers up notes of various red berries and a floral hint. There is good detail and a beguiling vibrancy to the saline and intense medium-bodied flavors that possess a firm and solidly persistent finish. If this can add a bit of depth during the course of its evolution it could merit the upper end of my projected range." (01/2014)
