Bid on this 2-bottle 1989&1990 Clerico "Ciabot Mentin Ginestra" Barolo Tasting Lot, including 1-bottle of 1989 Clerico "Ciabot Mentin Ginestra" Barolo (97RP, 92WS) and 1-bottle of 1990 Clerico "Ciabot Mentin Ginestra" Barolo (95RP). Of the 1989 Clerico "Ciabot Mentin Ginestra" Barolo,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "The 1989 Barolo Ciabot Mentin Ginestra opens with a gorgeous, captivating bouquet of soy sauce, smoke, tobacco and cedar. The wine possesses sumptuous richness and beguiling inner perfume in an intensely powerful, mineral-driven style that coats the palate in stunning style. I am not sure the tannins will fully soften here, but readers lucky enough to own this wine are in for a thrilling ride. This is stunning juice! Anticipated maturity: 2009-2016. This stunning set of wines shows how far ahead of the pack Domenico Clerico was 20 years ago. Then again, Clerico has the privilege of working with some of the very finest vineyards in the world. Winemaking was decidedly

1990 Angélus, St-Emilion
Bid on this bottle of 1990 Angélus, St-Emilion (99RP, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A blend of 60% Merlot and 40% Cabernet Franc, this is clearly the greatest Angelus until the 2000, 2003 and then the perfect 2005. Beautiful, sweet plum, blackberry and blueberry fruit soar from the glass of this opaque, purple wine that still hasn’t lost much in color. Deep, opulent, voluptuously textured, full-bodied and multidimensional, this is a stunner and just now approaching its plateau of full maturity, where it should stay for at least another 20 years. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1990 Troplong-Mondot, St-Emilion (98RP, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A fabulous example, the 1990 Troplong Mondot is only equaled by such recent vintages as 2000, 2005, and 2008. The inky/garnet/plum/purple-colored 1990 exhibits notes of coffee, blackberries, licorice, camphor, and espresso. Rich and full-bodied with lavish fruit, high glycerin, low acidity, and stunning purity, it is still several years away from full maturity, and should last for another 10-15 years. (RP)" (06/2009)

Of the 2004 Produttori del Barbaresco Barbaresco,John Gilman writes: "The 2004 blended Barbaresco from the Produttori is another classic example of this lovely wine in a top-notch vintage. The bouquet is deep, complex and jumps beautifully from the glass in a mélange of licorice, black cherries, a touch of plum, game, fresh oregano, woodsmoke, soil and a bit of camphor. 1990 Léoville-Las-Cases, St-Julien
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 1990 Léoville-Las-Cases, St-Julien (96RP, 94ST, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "As one might expect, this is a brilliant wine, but it remains shockingly young, even for the fast evolving 1990s. Its deep ruby/purple color is accompanied by a classic, nearly restrained set of aromatics that includes notions of sweet black cherries, black currants, lead pencil, and wet stones. In the mouth, it is full-bodied, and while technically low in acidity, there is a freshness, delineation, and classicism in this full-throttle, rich, concentrated, impeccable 1990. While still youthful, it is easy to appreciate despite its substantial tannins. It is not quite as backward as the 1990 Lafite Rothschild or 1990 Latour. Anticipated maturity: now-2035. 1990 Margaux, Margaux
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1990 Margaux, Margaux (100RP, 98ST, 96WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I had this wine both in Seoul, Korea in February, and from my cellar in December, 2008, and it was remarkable how identical the wines smelled and tasted. It offers an extraordinary aromatic display of spring flowers, camphor, sweet red and black fruits, a hint of licorice, and no evidence of its 100% new oak cask aging. Round and generous with low acidity, but an opulent, full-bodied richness that is fresh with laser-like precision, this stunning wine is just beginning to reach its plateau of full maturity, where it should remain for another three decades. A sensational effort, it is one of the legendary wines made at Chateau Margaux. (RP)" (06/2009)

1990 Dunn Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 1990 Dunn Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon (96RP, 93VN, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The massive 1990 Howell Mountain exhibits huge tannin, but immense concentration. The richest Dunn Cabernet since the 1984s? Anticipated maturity: 1999-2020. At this early stage, it does not appear to be as super-concentrated as Dunn's wines from the early and mid-eighties. It is slightly more tannic. It does possess a tell-tale mineral, cassis, flowery nose, and a rich, full-bodied, dense, highly extracted, tannic personality. (RP)" (10/1993)

Bid on this 3L-bottle lot of 1990 Domaine Zind Humbrecht "Brand" Riesling Alsace Grand Cru (3L) (OWC - 95VN, 94RP) in original wood. Vinous: "Bright yellow-gold. Knockout nose combines peach, nut oil, ginger, white flowers and a light metallic nuance. Then lush, rich and deep in the mouth, with compelling palate-saturating flavors of papaya, smoky minerals and crystallized grapefruit. The finish is vibrant and long, with a lingering note of orange oil. The 1990 vintage is remembered for its very small yields and clean fruit that was practically devoid of noble rot. This is another standout white wine from Zind-Humbrecht: I only wish I still had a couple of cases. (ID)" (09/2013)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1990 Caymus "Special Selection" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (94RP, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1990 Cabernet Sauvignon-Special Selection appears to be the best Caymus has produced since 1986 and 1985. Two thousand, six-bottle cases will be released in February, 1994. The wine offers a saturated, dark purple color, and a rich, spicy, oaky nose backed up by generous quantities of jammy blackcurrants. Ripe, highly extracted, and full-bodied, with copious amounts of sweet tannin and layers of fruit, this is a knock-out, flamboyantly-styled Cabernet. (RP)" (10/1993)

1990 Grand-Puy-Lacoste, Pauillac
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1990 Grand-Puy-Lacoste, Pauillac (96RP, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Along with the 1982, 2000, and 2005, the 1990 is one of those monumental Grand Puy Lacostes that you can’t have enough of. Still inky/blue/purple-colored to the rim, it boasts a gorgeously sweet, pure nose of creme de cassis, spring flowers, and a hint of wet rocks. The wine is full-bodied, plush, and expansive with impressive levels of glycerin and purity as well as an endearing texture. This 1990 is evolving at a glacial pace, but the sweetness of the tannins and low acidity ensure a delicious treat whenever a bottle is opened. It should evolve for another 20-25 years. 1990 Mount Veeder "Reserve" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1990 Mount Veeder "Reserve" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (93CG, 92WS). Connoisseurs Guide: "Here again is a wine that begs the question, 'When the forward fruit fades, will the structure carry the wine?' There is no question that things will hold together another five years here, and there is also no question that the wine is wonderfully enjoyable now. Its focus is keen, and its fruit remains at its heart, but there is not much complexity showing itself and this one, like the Duckhorn, will have to go against the grain of the vintage to hang on well into its third decade. It has a chance. Two stars when first reviewed." (05/2005)

1990 Cheval Blanc, St-Emilion
Bid on this bottle of 1990 Cheval Blanc, St-Emilion (98RP, 98VN, 97JS, 97ST, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of my favorite Cheval Blancs, it remains to be seen if the 1998, 2000, and 2008 will live up to this offering. It is the ripest wine of the aforementioned vintages, with a complex bouquet of tobacco leaf, Christmas fruitcake, sweet black fruits, bordering on fig and plum, but no hint of overripeness, and notions of new saddle leather, mint, and incense. The gorgeously expressive aromatics are followed by a full-bodied wine revealing abundant glycerin as well as elevated alcohol, but it is not hot, and nothing is out of place. Expansive, rich, and revealing the nuances and complexity that come from bottle age, it is at its peak of maturity where it should remain for another 10-15 years. 98+ (RP)" (06/2009)

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 1990 Canon-La-Gaffelière, St-Emilion (94RP, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This wine has always tasted superb. Still a dark purple/garnet color, it offers an exotic bouquet of roasted coffee, caramelized herbs, sweet cassis, blackberries, chocolate, and licorice. The explosive bouquet is followed by a low acid, full-bodied, chewy wine with sweet tannin and ripe, jammy fruit and glycerin. It hit its peak of maturity 4-5 years ago, but is holding nicely. 1990 Lafite-Rothschild, Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 1990 Lafite-Rothschild, Pauillac (96RP, 96ST, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Interestingly, a bottle of 1990 Lafite Rothschild I pulled from my cellar for a video blog on my web site was still buttoned down, tight, and even with extended decanting was not showing as much as I would have hoped. However, a bottle tasted, of all places, in Seoul, Korea in February, was only a few points short of perfection. That amazing performance motivated me to pull another bottle out of my cellar and follow it over the course of two days. Sure enough, by the second day the wine was roaring from the glass. The 1990 Lafite has turned out far better than my early assessment. While it still possesses some firmness, and performs like a late adolescent in terms of its evolution, it boasts gorgeous aromas of cedar, tobacco leaf, cassis, and lead pencil shavings. The explosive aromas are followed by a fleshy, full-bodied wine that should hit its peak in 5-8 years, and last for 25
