1990&2000 St-Émilion Tasting Lot
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1990&2000 St-Émilion Tasting Lot, including 1-bottle of 1990 l'Arrosée, St-Emilion (90RP) and 1-bottle of 2000 Pavie Decesse, St-Émilion (96RP, 94WS, 93ST, 90WE). Of the 2000 Pavie Decesse, St-Émilion,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "Gerard Perse's 2000 Pavie Decesse, a blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc from a vineyard situated above Pavie, on the steep limestone hillsides outside the walled town of St.-Emilion, is a fabulous effort (all the Perse wines are stunning in this vintage). Notes of camphor, creme de cassis, violets, black currants, cedar, and licorice jump from the glass of this inky/purple-hued offering. Monumental richness, sensational sweet tannin, a skyscraper-like mid-palate, and a 45+-second finish result in an extraordinary wine that is just reaching its plateau of full maturity. It should last for another 20-25 years. (RP)" (06/2010)

1990 Noel Verset Cornas
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1990 Noel Verset Cornas (94ST, 93RP). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "At the time of its release I thought that Verset's 1990 Cornas was one of the best wines of the vintage in the northern Rhône and definitely the best example of Cornas for that year. Still deep ruby in color, it displays powerful aromas of cherry liqueur, blackberry and olive, with a minty aspect adding vivacity and lift. Round and seamless in texture, with sappy red and dark berry flavors and hints of spicecake and cola, this is aging very slowly and positively. A hint of fresh mint sneaks up with air, adding good back end bite to a long, supple finish. In an ample, plush style for Verset, you could drink this with great pleasure now or forget it for at least another ten years." (01/2015)

1990 Auguste Clape Cornas
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1990 Auguste Clape Cornas (91RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Clape's 1990 Cornas is outstanding. The color is an opaque black/purple, and the nose offers up rich, ripe aromas of black fruits, licorice, and spices. Superconcentrated, with a full-bodied, highly extracted, mouth-filling taste, this example of Cornas possesses moderate tannin, adequate acidity, and a smashingly long finish. It is also relatively refined for a Cornas, displaying no signs of the rustic tannin or funky, earthy smells many Cornas can possess. (RP)" (01/1997)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1990 Fougeray de Beauclair Bonnes Mares Grand Cru (93BH, 93RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The super 1990 Bonnes Mares offers up a big, expansive nose of sweet black fruits, new oak, and flowers. In the mouth, the wine is opulent and succulent, with medium to full body, superb depth of flavor, brilliant focus and delineation, as well as a round, generously endowed, velvety-textured finish. It should drink well for the next 7-10 years. (RP)" (10/1992)

1990 Robert Ampeau & Fils Puligny Montrachet Les Combettes
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 1990 Robert Ampeau & Fils Puligny Montrachet Les Combettes (92BH). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Quite golden though with no browning. In contrast to the color which would have suggested the presence of the initial hints of oxidation, the nose is actually quite fresh with floral, citrus and aged pain grillé hints that complement the very rich, full-bodied and generous flavors that possess good mid-palate sap and in contrast to the typical Combettes, more minerality than usual on the long, delicious and mouth coating finish. A lovely example that has peaked but if well-stored, there is no reason that it couldn't do so for another decade, perhaps longer." (11/2009)

1990 J.L. Chave Hermitage Rouge
Bid on this bottle of 1990 J.L. Chave Hermitage Rouge (98RP, 98WS, 97VN, 96ST). Wine Spectator: "This still very rich and alluring, with a core of dark roasted plum, black currant and blackberry fruit that still has an unctuous feel. There are additional floral and black tea notes, flashes of bergamot and clove, and a lingering tarry edge that supports the finish. Still throws a long shadow. (Web-2012)"

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 1990 Cos d'Estournel, St-Estèphe (94RP, 92JS, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Not as concentrated as the 1982, or as most of the vintages made since 2001, the 1990 Cos has reached full maturity. It exhibits sweet berry fruit intermixed with spice box, herbs, and spring flowers. Expansive, round, and sensual, with wonderful purity as well as lushness, this irresistible wine can be enjoyed over the next 6-10 years. (RP)" (06/2009)

1990 Pichon-Baron, Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 1990 Pichon-Baron, Pauillac (97RP, 94WS, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A remarkable vintage for Pichon Longueville Baron, 1990 is one of this estate’s two or three finest wines made in the last 40 years. Still inky/blue/purple-tinged to the rim, it reveals an extraordinary bouquet of charcoal, incense, creme de cassis, blue and black fruits, and a hint of licorice as well as an impressively long finish. While drinkable, its evolution is extremely slow, and I would not be surprised to see it last another two decades or more." (06/2009)

Full-bodied, with layers of silky fruit and masses of currant, mineral and berry character. Amazing. It's a wine with perfect structure, perfect strength. It's 1961 Latour in modern clothes. It's hard not to drink it now." (02/2005)

1990 Leroy Vosne-Romanée "Beaux Monts"
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1990 Leroy Vosne-Romanée "Beaux Monts" (98RP, 95WS, 92BH). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Vosne-Romanee-Les Beaumonts is a more subtle, more classic example of a top premier cru Vosne-Romanee. It does not soar from the glass with the exotic, smoky, roasted character of the Les Brulees, but it does offer authoritative and persistent aromas of black fruits, herbs, underbrush, and sweet oak. While it displays exceptional concentration of flavor in the mouth, it is supported by higher levels of tannin and is a more structured, denser, richer wine than the Les Brulees. Since the tannins are more noticeable, it should be cellared for 7-8 years, and should last for 30 or more. This profound wine is one of the superstars of the vintage." (10/1992)
