1990 Mouton-Rothschild, Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 1990 Mouton-Rothschild, Pauillac (94ST, 90JS). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright red with a pale rim. Knockout nose of aromatic herbs, strawberry, sweet spices and acacia flower; yet another wine strongly marked by its Cabernet Franc presence. Fresh and vibrant, this absolutely dances on the palate with strawberry, sour red cherry and raspberry flavors complicated by gunflint and herbs. High acidity provides great clarity and cut to the long, floral, smoothly tannic finish. This has improved considerably with bottle age. Harvested from September 18 through October 3, this Mouton offers amazing balance and fragrance. In 1990 Mouton was still using a heavy toast for its barriques, which resulted in a smoky quality in the wines that was considered by many to be just as typical of Mouton as its opulence. 1990 Pichon-Baron, Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 1990 Pichon-Baron, Pauillac (97RP, 94WS, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A remarkable vintage for Pichon Longueville Baron, 1990 is one of this estate’s two or three finest wines made in the last 40 years. Still inky/blue/purple-tinged to the rim, it reveals an extraordinary bouquet of charcoal, incense, creme de cassis, blue and black fruits, and a hint of licorice as well as an impressively long finish. While drinkable, its evolution is extremely slow, and I would not be surprised to see it last another two decades or more. (RP)" (06/2009)

1990 Robert Mondavi "Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 1990 Robert Mondavi "Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (94RP, 90VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This wine is just beginning to drink spectacularly well. The rustic, big, thick 1990 is Californian in its orientation. It is loaded with flavor, but the tannin is coarser when compared to the seamlessness of the 1991's. (RP)" (08/2002)

1990 Jordan Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 1990 Jordan Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Wine Spectator: "Tight, young and chunky, especially for Jordan, but the flavors are familiar, with herb, currant and spicy wood flavors. The tannin level on the finish suggests this wine be cellared another three to five years, but it has richness, depth and good extract. (JL)" (06/1994)

1990 Caymus "Special Selection" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 1990 Caymus "Special Selection" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (94RP, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1990 Cabernet Sauvignon-Special Selection appears to be the best Caymus has produced since 1986 and 1985. Two thousand, six-bottle cases will be released in February, 1994. The wine offers a saturated, dark purple color, and a rich, spicy, oaky nose backed up by generous quantities of jammy blackcurrants. Ripe, highly extracted, and full-bodied, with copious amounts of sweet tannin and layers of fruit, this is a knock-out, flamboyantly-styled Cabernet. (RP)" (10/1993)

1990 Duckhorn "Three Palms" Napa Valley Merlot
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 1990 Duckhorn "Three Palms" Napa Valley Merlot (93CG). Connoisseurs Guide: "The ripe vintages of the mid-‘80s were followed by the difficulties at the end of the decade, but Duckhorn, like so many in California, entered the 1990s ready to make riper, softer, richer wines, and this vintage, with its succulent, forward fruit was the perfect foil for the new winemaking recipe. This wine, despite a bit of earthy funk in the nose, is still full of ripe, deep and convincing fruit, and it seems destined to live to be one of the best of the Three Palms series." (10/2002)

1990 Giuseppe Rinaldi Brunate Barolo Riserva
Bid on this bottle of 1990 Giuseppe Rinaldi Brunate Barolo Riserva (96RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1990 Barolo Riserva Brunate is very much a mirror image of the vintage; fat, rich and opulent, with gorgeous inner perfume and superb balance. It is awfully hard to pick a favorite here, as both wines are drop-dead gorgeous. Wow! Despite the wine’s huge fruit the tannins and structure remain formidable, and this is one case where the 1990 may very well age at the same pace as the 1989. In fact, this is one of the few 1990s that comes across as needing more time! In any event, the 1990 Barolo Riserva Brunate is a monumental, towering wine from one of Barolo’s icon producers. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2025. (AG)" (02/2010)

1990 Margaux, Margaux
Bid on this bottle of 1990 Margaux, Margaux (100RP, 98ST, 96WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1990 Chateau Margaux has turned into a sensational wine that eclipses both the 1988 and 1989...and then some. It has a gorgeous, ethereal bouquet with sumptuous red berry fruit, leather, camphor and licorice—it is the kind of nose in which you just immerse yourself. Is there a hint of brettanomyces here? If there is, I don't really care. The palate is soft and sensual with incredible depth. Fleshy and corpulent for Chateau Margaux, and yet surfeit with breeding and finesse, there are layers or red fruit, kirsch, sage and fig, later tobacco and cloves. I feel that this 1990 Château Margaux is at its peak and yet the harmony, the sheer swagger of this wine just wins you over. Magnificent. Tasted May 2016. (NM)" (10/2016)

1990 Grand-Puy-Lacoste, Pauillac (OWC)
Bid on this 12-bottle lot of 1990 Grand-Puy-Lacoste, Pauillac (OWC - 96RP, 95WS) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Along with the 1982, 2000, and 2005, the 1990 is one of those monumental Grand Puy Lacostes that you can’t have enough of. Still inky/blue/purple-colored to the rim, it boasts a gorgeously sweet, pure nose of creme de cassis, spring flowers, and a hint of wet rocks. The wine is full-bodied, plush, and expansive with impressive levels of glycerin and purity as well as an endearing texture. This 1990 is evolving at a glacial pace, but the sweetness of the tannins and low acidity ensure a delicious treat whenever a bottle is opened. It should evolve for another 20-25 years. 1990 Dominus Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 1990 Dominus Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (98RP, 93ST, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This spectacularly complex, rich wine magically combines the finest elements of Napa Valley (strength, ripeness, and full body) with those of Bordeaux (finesse, elegance, and complexity). The opaque dark ruby/purple color suggests considerable intensity, low yields, and great richness. A huge, soaring bouquet offers aromas of cassis, black-cherries, subtle herbs, vanillin, and spices. This full-bodied, voluptuously-textured, super-concentrated, multi-dimensional wine is more flattering and opulent that previous Dominus vintages, which tended to be tannic as well as rich. Although approachable and already complex (I have already consumed three bottles), the magnificent 1990 Dominus should evolve gracefully for 20-30 years. (RP)" (04/1994)

Full-bodied, with layers of silky fruit and masses of currant, mineral and berry character. Amazing. It's a wine with perfect structure, perfect strength. It's 1961 Latour in modern clothes. 1990 Montrose, St-Estèphe
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 1990 Montrose, St-Estèphe (100RP, 95ST, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: " I was served blind a magnum of the 1990 Montrose in Cape Town, which had been purchased on release and stored in perfect conditions. Now, here was the real deal, unfettered by any infection, a regal Saint Estèphe. It shows approximately the same evolution as the 1989 in bottle, but unsurprisingly showed less bricking in magnum format. The bouquet is cut from a different cloth to the 1989 and attests to that warm vintage: hickory, clove, undergrowth and wild fennel, later garrigue-like scents and terracotta, the latter two more pronounced on the bottle format compared to the youthful magnum. The palate is full-bodied and powerful, yet the balance is perfect, a ballerina-like poise with the structure of the Forth Bridge ... (NM)" (03/2017)
