The richest Dunn Cabernet since the 1984s. Anticipated maturity: 1999-2020... tell-tale mineral, cassis, flowery nose, and a rich, full-bodied, dense, highly extracted, tannic personality. 1990 La Conseillante, Pomerol
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1990 La Conseillante, Pomerol (97RP, 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This deep ruby/garnet-hued 1990 reveals considerable amber at the edge as well as a knock-out bouquet of cedar, kirsch, licorice, roasted herbs, and spice box. An exuberant, atypically flamboyant effort, it possesses supple texture, medium to full body, sweet fruit, plenty of glycerin, and attractive melted tannin. This wine has been delicious since birth, but additional nuances continue to develop in the bottle. Drink it over the next decade. (RP)" (06/2009)

1990 Margaux, Margaux
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1990 Margaux, Margaux (100RP, 98ST, 96WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I had this wine both in Seoul, Korea in February, and from my cellar in December, 2008, and it was remarkable how identical the wines smelled and tasted. It offers an extraordinary aromatic display of spring flowers, camphor, sweet red and black fruits, a hint of licorice, and no evidence of its 100% new oak cask aging. Round and generous with low acidity, but an opulent, full-bodied richness that is fresh with laser-like precision, this stunning wine is just beginning to reach its plateau of full maturity, where it should remain for another three decades. A sensational effort, it is one of the legendary wines made at Chateau Margaux." (06/2009)

1990 Léoville-Las-Cases, St-Julien
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1990 Léoville-Las-Cases, St-Julien (96RP, 94ST, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "As one might expect, this is a brilliant wine, but it remains shockingly young, even for the fast evolving 1990s. Its deep ruby/purple color is accompanied by a classic, nearly restrained set of aromatics that includes notions of sweet black cherries, black currants, lead pencil, and wet stones. In the mouth, it is full-bodied, and while technically low in acidity, there is a freshness, delineation, and classicism in this full-throttle, rich, concentrated, impeccable 1990. While still youthful, it is easy to appreciate despite its substantial tannins. It is not quite as backward as the 1990 Lafite Rothschild or 1990 Latour. Anticipated maturity: now-2035. 1990 Domaine Louis Jadot Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru "Clos St. Jacques"
Bid on this bottle of 1990 Domaine Louis Jadot Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru "Clos St. Jacques" (96RP, 93BH, 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Jadot, which has major holdings in the village of Gevrey-Chambertin, has turned out some stunning wines at the premier cru level. It produced a profound Gevrey-Chambertin-Clos St.-Jacques. Andre Gagey, who, along with his son, Pierre-Henri, and their winemaker, Jacques Lardiere, participated in the tasting, announced he had put considerable quantities of this particular wine in his cellar to "help get him through his retirement." The color is a saturated dark ruby. The nose explodes from the glass, offering a melange of scents, including black-raspberries, toasty new oak, cloves, vanilla, and candy. In the mouth, there is astonishing richness, a thick, well-defined texture, and a flamboyant, moderately tannic finish that lasts well over a minute. The personality hallmarks of the 1990 vintage, the chewy, super-ripe character of the Pinot Noir an

1990 Lafite-Rothschild, Pauillac
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1990 Lafite-Rothschild, Pauillac (96RP, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Interestingly, a bottle of 1990 Lafite Rothschild I pulled from my cellar for a video blog on my web site was still buttoned down, tight, and even with extended decanting was not showing as much as I would have hoped. However, a bottle tasted, of all places, in Seoul, Korea in February, was only a few points short of perfection. That amazing performance motivated me to pull another bottle out of my cellar and follow it over the course of two days. Sure enough, by the second day the wine was roaring from the glass. The 1990 Lafite has turned out far better than my early assessment. While it still possesses some firmness, and performs like a late adolescent in terms of its evolution, it boasts gorgeous aromas of cedar, tobacco leaf, cassis, and lead pencil shavings. The explosive aromas are followed by a fleshy, full-bodied wine that should hit its peak in 5-8 years, and last for 25

Still very tannic, but give this full-bodied, bold, powerful and complex beauty time to mature and it will drink smoothly.--Pinot Noir Challenge. Best after 2010. (PM)" (05/1998)

1990 Domaine Méo-Camuzet Vosne-Romanee 1er Cru "Aux Brulées"
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1990 Domaine Méo-Camuzet Vosne-Romanee 1er Cru "Aux Brulées" (94BH, 93WS, 91RP). Allen Meadows - Burghound: " In much the same fashion as the '93 Brûlées, for years this was a bruiser of a wine and it is only relatively recently that it has become sufficiently civilized to completely enjoy. Sous bois suffused aromas of smoke, spice, bacon and earth lead to rich, seductive, full-bodied, deep and wonderfully complex flavors of considerable power and length. Moreover there is a notably better expression of the underlying terroir than most '90s display, all wrapped in a velvety and still moderately firm and vibrant finish. While this is not an elegant example by the very high standards of this wine, it compensates by its sheer richness, overall sense of depth and generosity. In short, this is a '90 that completely fulfilled the early promise of the vintage plus it's a wine that should continue to hold effortlessly for years to come. I have had the privilege of

I was completely unprepared for the sheer beauty of the 1990. What a fabulous wine! A burst of gloriously ripe, red fruit exploded from the glass, followed by a never ending array of spices and flowers that melded together seamlessly in an extraordinary display of sheer class. 1990 Pichon-Baron, Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 1990 Pichon-Baron, Pauillac (97RP, 94WS, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A remarkable vintage for Pichon Longueville Baron, 1990 is one of this estate’s two or three finest wines made in the last 40 years. Still inky/blue/purple-tinged to the rim, it reveals an extraordinary bouquet of charcoal, incense, creme de cassis, blue and black fruits, and a hint of licorice as well as an impressively long finish. While drinkable, its evolution is extremely slow, and I would not be surprised to see it last another two decades or more." (06/2009)

1990 La Mission Haut-Brion, Pessac-Léognan
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1990 La Mission Haut-Brion, Pessac-Léognan (99RP, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Reminiscing over the 1989 and 1990 vintages, which I have followed from birth, there always seemed to be a dramatic difference in quality. Not that the 1990 was not a top wine, but in its infancy, I never thought it would come close to being as riveting and magnetic as its older sibling, the 1989. However, it has proven to be nearly as prodigious. One of the hottest years in Bordeaux, 1990, a vintage of enormous yields, even dwarfing yields in 1985 and 1982, produced a fabulously open-knit, seemingly fast track La Mission that, at age 22, shows no signs of fading or losing its grip. The color is slightly more mature and evolved than the 1989’s, exhibiting a lighter rim and a less dark blue/ruby/purple hue. Classic La Mission-Haut-Brion aromatics of camphor, licorice, scorched earth, hot bricks, barbecue, cassis, blueberry and kirsch are well displayed. Broad, expansive,

1990 Mouton-Rothschild, Pauillac (3L)
Bid on this 3L-bottle of 1990 Mouton-Rothschild, Pauillac (3L) (94ST, 90JS). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright red with a pale rim. Knockout nose of aromatic herbs, strawberry, sweet spices and acacia flower; yet another wine strongly marked by its Cabernet Franc presence. Fresh and vibrant, this absolutely dances on the palate with strawberry, sour red cherry and raspberry flavors complicated by gunflint and herbs. High acidity provides great clarity and cut to the long, floral, smoothly tannic finish. This has improved considerably with bottle age. Harvested from September 18 through October 3, this Mouton offers amazing balance and fragrance. In 1990 Mouton was still using a heavy toast for its barriques, which resulted in a smoky quality in the wines that was considered by many to be just as typical of Mouton as its opulence.
