1995 Troplong-Mondot, St-Émilion
Bid on this bottle of 1995 Troplong-Mondot, St-Émilion (92RP, 91ST, 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Totally shut down and enclosed, with an impressively saturated purple/black color and a promising but tightly strung nose of mineral, vanilla, espresso, black cherry and currant, this wine has beautiful purity, medium to full body, relatively high but sweet tannin, and a long 30-35 second finish. The wine is very firm but impressive as well as promising. Patience please! Anticipated maturity: 2007-2020. (RP)" (01/2003)

1995 Grand-Puy-Lacoste, Pauillac
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1995 Grand-Puy-Lacoste, Pauillac (95RP, 93WS, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Unbelievably rich, multidimensional, broad-shouldered wine, with slightly more elegance and less weight than the powerhouse 1996, this gorgeously proportioned, medium to full-bodied, fabulously ripe, rich, cassis-scented and flavored Grand-Puy-Lacoste is another beauty. It should be drinkable within 4-5 years, and keep for 25-30. This classic Pauillac is a worthy rival to the other-worldly 1996. Anticipated maturity: 2002-2025. (RP)" (02/1998)

1995 Joseph Phelps "Insignia" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this bottle of 1995 Joseph Phelps "Insignia" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (98RP, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A wine of great intensity and richness, it displays classic notes of licorice, barbecue smoke, creme de cassis, cedarwood and forest floor. Full-bodied with sensational purity, a multidimensional mouthfeel and a long, voluptuous finish with no hard edges, it has only reached mid-adolescence, and has at least two decades of life ahead of it. 1995 Joseph Phelps "Backus" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 1995 Joseph Phelps "Backus" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (93RP, 91ST, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1995 Cabernet Sauvignon Backus Vineyard is a wine of great intensity. A massive, saturated black/purple-colored example, it offers an intriguing bouquet and flavors of prunes, black currants, roasted herbs, chocolate, and coffee, huge amounts of glycerin and body, and a gigantic, oversized finish with considerable tannin. This is one wine where the extract level matches the tannin's ferocity, but readers looking for something to cuddle up with over the near-term should be advised that it needs 5-6 years of cellaring. Anticipated maturity: 2003-2025. (RP)" (12/1998)

1995 Bartolo Mascarello Barolo
Bid on this bottle of 1995 Bartolo Mascarello Barolo (96VN, 90ST). Vinous: "Another very pleasant surprise, the 1995 Barolo is absolutely singing. Dark tonalities of fruit and firm yet well-integrated tannins are some of the signatures. The 1995s have always been a bit burly, but the best wines from this vintage are now entering the sweet spot. That certainly applies to the 1995, which may be the best and most complete vintage of the 1990s to drink today. The 1995 is also the first vintage to be bottled with just two years in oak, as opposed to the three years that was previously the norm. (AG)" (11/2016)

1995 Mouton Rothschild, Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 1995 Mouton Rothschild, Pauillac (95JS, 95RP, 95VN, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Bottled in June, 1997, this profound Mouton is more accessible than the more muscular 1996. A blend of 72% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Cabernet Franc, and 19% Merlot, it reveals an opaque purple color, and reluctant aromas of cassis, truffles, coffee, licorice, and spice. In the mouth, the wine is 'great stuff,' with superb density, a full-bodied personality, rich mid-palate, and a layered, profound finish that lasts for 40+ seconds. There is outstanding purity and high tannin, but my instincts suggest this wine is lower in acidity and slightly fleshier than the brawnier, bigger 1996. Both are great efforts from Mouton-Rothschild. Anticipated maturity: 2004-2030. (RP)" (02/1998)

1995 Clos Rougeard Saumur Champigny
Bid on this bottle of 1995 Clos Rougeard Saumur Champigny. The Foucault brothers Nady and Charlie are the owners of Clos Rougeard, and in France, at least, their wines have certainly achieved Cult-like status with every three-star restaurant in Paris hustling to get a small allocation. Not surprisingly, hardly anyone in American has even heard of Clos Rougeard. Well, we're here to change all that. This estate has been in the family for several generations. The Foucault brothers tend exceptional vineyards, harvest at small yields, vinify in barrel, let the wines age for a couple of years in a frigid cellar and bottle without filtration. The result (even in "challenging" years like 1999) is a few of the top red wines of the Loire Valley and in the top of France as a whole. Charles Joguet, the great winemaker of Chinon, once said: "there are two suns. One shines outside for everybody. The second shines in the Foucaults' cellar." 100% cabernet franc and designed for all manner of food.

1995 Staglin Cabernet Sauvignon (375ML)
Bid on this 6-half-bottle lot of 1995 Staglin Cabernet Sauvignon (375ML) (92VN, 90RP). Vinous: "Staglin’s 1995 Cabernet Sauvignon was the first memorable wine of the night. Totally graceful and silky on the palate, it graced the palate with a super-classic if somewhat Left Bank-inflected array of tobacco, cedar and graphite before brightening up a bit in the glass with plum and raspberry notes. Overall, the 1995 delivered a great performance for a wine that is close to being fully mature. The 1995 is a great choice for drinking today. (AG)" (10/2013)
