1995 Domaine du Pégaü "Cuvée Réservée" Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Bid on this bottle of 1995 Domaine du Pégaü "Cuvée Réservée" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (94RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: " The 1995 Cuvee Reservee exhibits an opaque black/purple color, and extraordinary rich, intense aromas of smoke, black raspberries, kirsch, and spice. Exceptionally full-bodied, with an unctuous texture, and a thick, rich, expansive mid-palate, this superbly concentrated wine appears to be a worthy rival to this estate's phenomenal 1989 and 1990. Interestingly, the average alcohol level achieved by Domaine du Pegau in 1995 was 14.5-15.5%. This is a blockbuster Chateauneuf du Pape. (RP)" (01/1997)

1995 Joseph Phelps "Backus" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (3L)
Bid on this 3L-bottle lot of 1995 Joseph Phelps "Backus" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (3L) (93RP, 91ST, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1995 Cabernet Sauvignon Backus Vineyard is a wine of great intensity. A massive, saturated black/purple-colored example, it offers an intriguing bouquet and flavors of prunes, black currants, roasted herbs, chocolate, and coffee, huge amounts of glycerin and body, and a gigantic, oversized finish with considerable tannin. This is one wine where the extract level matches the tannin's ferocity, but readers looking for something to cuddle up with over the near-term should be advised that it needs 5-6 years of cellaring. Anticipated maturity: 2003-2025. (RP)" (12/1998)

1995 Bordeaux Tasting Lot
Bid on this 3-bottle 1995 Bordeaux Tasting Lot, including 1-bottle of 1995 Cos d'Estournel, St-Estèphe (95RP, 94WS, 92ST), 1-bottle of 1995 Grand-Puy-Lacoste, Pauillac (95RP, 93WS, 91ST), and 1-bottle of 1995 Léoville-Barton, St-Julien ((92-94RP), 94WS, 91ST). Of the 1995 Cos d'Estournel, St-Estèphe,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "A wine of extraordinary intensity and accessibility, the 1995 Cos d'Estournel is a sexier, more hedonistic offering than the muscular, backward 1996. Opulent, with forward aromatics (gobs of black fruits intermixed with toasty pain grille scents and a boatload of spice), this terrific Cos possesses remarkable intensity, full body, and layers of jammy fruit nicely framed by the wine's new oak. Because of low acidity and sweet tannin, the 1995 will be difficult to resist young, although it will age for 2-3 decades. Anticipated maturity: 2001-2025. (RP)" (02/1998)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1995 Château de Beaucastel Châteauneuf-du-Pape (95WS, 92RP). Wine Spectator: "Very youthful, with a ripe core of red currant and raspberry fruit and licorice flavor surrounded by creamy tannins. Plenty of smoke, mineral and tobacco notes chiming in, but this still has a ways to go, with plenty of grip still on the finish.--1995 Châteauneuf-du-Pape retrospective. Drink now through 2025." Of the 1991 Beringer "Private Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: " ... I’ve enjoyed many bottles of this spectacular effort, which still possesses a dense ruby/purple color as well as a sumptuous nose of spring flowers, graphite, loamy soil, creme de cassis, black cherries and blackberries. With sweet tannin, a full-bodied mouthfeel and incredible purity as well as youthfulness, this wine has another 15-20 years of life left in it. If this were a Bordeaux, one would think it was 8-10 years old, not two decades. There are no hard edges, and the seamless integration of all the component parts make it one of the prodigious Beringer Cabernet Sauvignon Private Reserves

1995 Staglin Rutherford Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1995 Staglin Rutherford Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (92VN, 90RP). Vinous: "Staglin’s 1995 Cabernet Sauvignon was the first memorable wine of the night. Totally graceful and silky on the palate, it graced the palate with a super-classic if somewhat Left Bank-inflected array of tobacco, cedar and graphite before brightening up a bit in the glass with plum and raspberry notes. Overall, the 1995 delivered a great performance for a wine that is close to being fully mature. The 1995 is a great choice for drinking today. (AG)" (10/2013)

1995 M. Chapoutier "De L'Orée" Ermitage Blanc
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1995 M. Chapoutier "De L'Orée" Ermitage Blanc (97RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The extraordinary white Hermitage Cuvee de l'Oree is mindboggling in both 1995 and 1996. Both wines represent the essence of white Hermitage. Made from 100% Marsanne from extremely old vines and microscopic yields of 12 hectoliters per hectare, the wines overwhelm any evidence of their barrique aging. Both possess extraordinary intensity, full body, the multi-layered texture of a great Montrachet, and intense, honeyed, mineral-like fruit flavors that ooze over the palate with remarkable richness, yet no sense of heaviness. These are undoubtedly the greatest white Hermitages I have ever tasted. Both should drink fabulously for another 2-3 years, and then shut down for 10-15 years. Both wines should easily last 40-50 years - assuming excellent storage. (RP)" (10/1997)

1995 Ridge Vineyards "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 1995 Ridge Vineyards "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon (97VN, 91RP, 90ST). Vinous: "Readers who can latch on to a few bottles of Ridge's 1995 Monte Bello, which is being re-released this year, should not hesitate to do so. Just now coming into its own, the 1995 delivers a stunning range of aromatic and flavor complexity, all supported by the tannins of the cold, slow maturing vintage. Layers of voluptuous fruit continue to flow effortlessly from a majestic Monte Bello that will deliver considerable pleasure over the next two decades. The 1995 has been nothing less than stunning the two times I have tasted it recently. The blend is 69% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Merlot, 10% Petit Verdot and 3% Cabernet Franc. (AG)" (07/2013)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1995 Krug Brut Champagne (98WS, 96WE, 95ST, 94RP). Wine Spectator: "**Collectibles & Ranked #26 on Top 100 Wines of 2006** A very youthful '95. Delicate. Intense aromas of ginger, citrus, candied berry and multigrain bread turn to honey, roasted almonds and graphite on the palate. It's all underscored by a precise structure and creamy texture. Its structure keeps it persistent through the long finish. A picture of precision and intensity. Drink now through 2025." (07/2006)
