2013 Aubert "Lauren Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2013 Aubert "Lauren Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay ((98-100RP), 97AG). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Named after Mark Aubert’s daughter, the 2013 Chardonnay Lauren Estate (1,000 cases produced) is made from Old Wente clones as well as the Mt. Eden clone planted in Goldridge soils. This stony, mineral-laced, crisp yet full-bodied effort comes across as a California version of a Coche-Dury Corton-Charlemagne. Citrus oil, tangerine skin, orange blossom, liquified rock, white flower and quince notes along with great fruit, a full-bodied, stunning texture, and a long finish with no noticeable oak suggest this prodigious Chardonnay will drink well for 10+ years. 2010 Domaine Leflaive Bâtard Montrachet Grand Cru
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2010 Domaine Leflaive Bâtard Montrachet Grand Cru (97RP, (94-96BH), 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Batard-Montrachet covers every inch of the palate with fruit. In 2010, the Batard is towering, statuesque and simply impeccable. Today the aromas and flavors are not at all developed, rather the wine is really all about textural elegance and finesse, and there is plenty of that here. A huge, explosive finish rounds things out in style. The Batard is a wine of contrasts. At times it is quite bold and extroverted, at others it possesses admirable restraint. Either way, it is magnificent. Anticipated maturity: 2020+. " (08/2012)

Allen Meadows - Burghound: "An exceptionally attractive and impressively complex white flower, spice and crushed herb aromas are trimmed in noticeable wood toast and lead to rich, nicely powerful and gorgeously detailed flavors of equally impressive depth and excellent finishing persistence. This is a really lovely if just shy of truly compelling Bâtard that is drinking well now though will continue to hold without difficulty in this format, indeed it should be capable of holding for another 20 years. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2012 Aubert "Larry Hyde & Sons Vineyard" Carneros Chardonnay (96RP, 94AG, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Chardonnay Larry Hyde & Sons (1,000 cases) comes from a 4-acre vineyard that produces nearly 1,000 cases. The straw color reveals a greenish hue, and the wine bursts from the glass with notes of exotic fruits, wet stones, limes and white peaches. It has a kinship to a great Coche-Dury Corton-Charlemagne. Complex and full-bodied with stunning purity, richness and acidity, this killer Chardonnay should drink well for 6-10 years. (RP, 12/2013 tasting note) " (12/2014)

2008 Marcassin "Marcassin Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay
Bid on this bottle of 2008 Marcassin "Marcassin Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay (100RP, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Utterly perfect, the 2008 Chardonnay Marcassin Estate is a dead-ringer for the 2007, but slightly richer and longer, as hard as that may be to believe. This extraordinary effort is unquestionably the 'Chardonnay of the Vintage.' In fact, it may be the 'Chardonnay of the Decade.' Brioche, nectarine, citrus and orange blossom notes intermixed with a liqueur of rocks, great acid, phenomenal concentration and staggering length result in a sublime Chardonnay that should drink well for 15+ years. Of the 2011 Domaine William Fèvre Chablis-Les Preuses Grand Cru ,Allen Meadows - Burghound writes: "(from two parcels of vines that total 2.55 ha, or 22% of the entire appellation). If the Côte de Bouguerots is the biggest wine in 2011 then the Preuses is arguably the most aromatically complex with a broad ranging nose of perfumed and ripe scents of oyster shell, sea water, citrus and white flowers. The silky and refined flavors are wonderfully seductive with an intense minerality to the austere, bone dry and balanced finish that exudes hints of saline and iodine. In sum, this is flat out stunning." (09/2012)

A wine of pungent minerality and finesse." (Tasted: Jun 01, 2010)

Then much fresher and more delineated in the mouth, with lovely sweetness to buffer the penetrating flavors of minerals, powdered stone and hazelnut oil. Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2008 Fontaine-Gagnard Criots-Bâtard-Montrachet (94BH, (90-93ST)). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This really hasn't changed very much since my original review in 2010 (see herein) and the nose is still exceptionally fresh with aromas of white flower, spiced pear, apricot and mango. There is excellent richness to the rich, full, powerful and overtly well-muscled flavors that offer impressive volume and power on the textured, indeed even opulent finish that is amply concentrated and seriously long. Overall, this is still exceptionally young and I have added a few years to my estimated peak drinking window. In sum, this is a terrific Criots." (04/2013)

This structured, nearly tannic Chardonnay should hit its prime in 1-2 years, and last for 5-7." (12/2003)

Of the 2012 Kongsgaard "The Judge" Napa Valley Chardonnay,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "Also amazing, the 2012 Chardonnay The Judge offers impressive aromas of tangerines, orange marmalade, wet rocks, quince, spring flowers and honeysuckle. Impressively full-bodied and majestic with terrific acidity, it is a tour de force in Chardonnay. Furthermore, it is about as “natural” as possible. Of the 2006 Sine Qua Non "Mr. K Straw Man" Marsanne Vine de Paille (375ml),Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "The 2006 Mr. K The Strawman Marsanne Vin de Paille is 100% Marsanne from the Beckmen Vineyard that boasts 240 grams of residual sugar per liter. A medium gold-colored effort, it reveals more marmalade notes interwoven with notions of maple syrup, honeysuckle, and exotic tropical fruits. 2005 Aubert "Reuling Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "There are 350 cases of the 2005 Chardonnay Reuling Vineyard, which comes from the Goldridge soils of this Sonoma Coast site. This Chardonnay comes from a clone suitcased over from the Montrachet vineyard in Burgundy. There is no doubting the liquid minerality, striking honeyed citrus, white currant, hazelnut, and brioche notes are more French than California, but the power and richness are pure New World. An absolutely remarkable Chardonnay that is certainly one of the top half dozen or so Chardonnays I have ever tasted from California, this is a stunningly proportioned, profound wine that should drink beautifully for 5-7 years, if you can resist it that long. 2007 Marcassin "Marcassin Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay
Bid on this bottle of 2007 Marcassin "Marcassin Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay (99RP, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A staggering Chardonnay that’s still an infant, the light yellow/green/gold 2007 offers up notes of unbuttered popcorn, orange liqueur, lemon butter, quince and crushed rocks. It possesses terrific underlying acidity, a full-bodied mouthfeel and a youthfulness and freshness that suggest this wine has two decades of life ahead of it. This majestic Chardonnay seems more French than Californian, but again, this reflects the significance of the labor of these two overachieving, push-the-envelope visionaries. What California viticulture and high-class, minimalist winemaking can achieve is exhibited in bold fashion by this 2007. It will hit its prime in 5-7 years, and appears to be a replay of the 2002 stylistically as well as for its overall potential. 99+ points. (RP)" (06/2012)

2008 Brewer-Clifton "Sweeney Canyon" Sta. Rita Hills Chardonnay
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2008 Brewer-Clifton "Sweeney Canyon" Sta. Rita Hills Chardonnay (97RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2008 continues the trend of rating all the older Sweeney Canyon Chardonnays higher than I did early in their lives. That’s an indication of great winemaking from a spectacular site. The age old argument of whether a Chardonnay improves in the bottle is answered positively by how the wines in this vertical have performed. The 2008 Chardonnay displays a French style with lots of white corn, white peach, honeysuckle, wet rock and spice characteristics. Tropical fruit notes appear on the palate, and there is enough acidity to support and delineate the wine’s superb richness. The alcohol came in at 15.3%, relatively modest by Brewer-Clifton standards. The 2008 should drink well for at least 8-10 more years. (RP)" (11/2013)

Stunningly rich, pure, and long, this is another tour de force from Mark Aubert, who certainly has the Midas touch when it comes to Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. It should drink well for 5-8 years." 2004 Aubert "Ritchie Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2004 Aubert "Ritchie Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay (95ST, 94WS, 93RP). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Slightly hazy appearance. Musky, highly complex aromas of crystallized lemon peel, pineapple and smoke. Fat and sweet but shapely, with wonderfully tactile flavors of pineapple, grapefruit and minerals. As round and seamlessly sweet as this is, there's a restraint to the fruit thanks to its terrific acid/alcohol balance. Finishes chewy and gripping, with powerful ripe fruit flavors. This is from a '71 planting; perhaps due to the age of the vines, the crop level here was a fairly normal 2.5 tons per acre, while Aubert's other three chardonnays, from younger vines, were in the 1 to 1.5 ton range. This vineyard was harvested last, in mid-September, after the extended heat wave subsided." (05/2006)

2008 Domaine des Comtes Lafon Meursault 1er Cru "Charmes"
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2008 Domaine des Comtes Lafon Meursault 1er Cru "Charmes" ((91-94BH)). "Outstanding" and 91-94 points Allen Meadows: "A discreet but not invisible touch of oak frames the ripe orchard fruit aromas, particularly peach and apricot, as well as pretty floral notes. The fresh, intense and notably sweet flavors possess excellent intensity and vibrancy before culminating in a generous and mouth coating finish that displays real verve. I really like the sense of underlying tension and the abundant amount of dry extract confers an almost chewy quality on the gorgeously long finish. In a word, terrific." (Tasted: Jun 01, 2010)

2010 Domaine Paul Pernot Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru (1.5L)
Bid on this 3-magnum lot of 2010 Domaine Paul Pernot Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru (1.5L) (95BH, 93ST). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This is not quite as refined as the Bienvenues but it's more complex still with an unusually expressive nose at this early stage of notably ripe white peach, pear, yellow peach and apricot fruit scents that combine with very pretty floral nuances. The rich, powerful and muscular full-bodied flavors ooze with dry extract that imparts an opulent mouth feel to the attractively precise and borderline painfully intense finish. This is exceptionally backwards and just like the nose, the palate impression is not as fine but this is both bigger and longer. Impressive." (06/2012)

2007 Domaine Louis Latour Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru "Les Demoiselles"
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2007 Domaine Louis Latour Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru "Les Demoiselles" (94BH, 92WS). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A more subtle touch of wood sets off the lightly spiced floral, green apple, white peach and pear aromas that lead to very pure, detailed and stony medium weight plus flavors that possess superb intensity and huge length on the mouth coating finish. This is presently quite understated and does an impressive job of blending power and finesse in a package of impact without heaviness." (07/2009)

2010 Domaine Leflaive Puligny Montrachet 1er Cru "Pucelles" (OWC)
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2010 Domaine Leflaive Puligny Montrachet 1er Cru "Pucelles" (OWC - (92-95BH), (94-95ST)) in original wood. Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "(I tasted a pre-bottling sample): Bright yellow. Sexy aromas of peach, spices, minerals and nut oil. Densely packed and powerful but a bit perturbed in its current form, with a recent SO2 addition accentuating the wine's acidity. Subtle notes of white pepper and wild herbs emerge with air to complicate the white peach and mineral flavors. Very juicy wine with superb depth and inner-mouth tension. Finishes with atypical energy for this cuvee and sneaky length." (09/2012)
