1997 Stags' Leap Winery Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1997 Stags' Leap Winery Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (94WE, 92WS). Wine Enthusiast: "Structured and built for the long haul, the densely packed aromatics hint at the power within. Blackberry, earth, fruitcake and cinnamon are all there, and the palate delivers a similar mix with added coffee, cocoa and licorice elements. Great texture and weight, and a lengthy finish with dry, even tannins. Best if cellared four to six years, and will keep for ages." (11/2000)

1997 Domaine François Jobard Meursault 1er Cru "Genevrières"
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1997 Domaine François Jobard Meursault 1er Cru "Genevrières" ((89-91RP), (89-91ST), 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Jobard's 1997 Meursault Genevrieres has rich, toasty ripe pears in its aromas, and it possesses a sweet, layered, medium-to-full-bodied character. This wine - crammed with candied nuts and mocha - has all the components for a higher rating (density, ripeness, power, fruit, complexity, concentration), except elegance, focus, and a long, seamless finish. Nevertheless, this offering's fabulous attributes should ultimately earn it an outstanding score. (RP)" (06/1999)

1997 Shafer "Hillside Select" Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 1997 Shafer "Hillside Select" Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon (96RP, 96WE, 93CG, 93VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1997 Shafer Cabernet Sauvignon Hillside Select is a relatively evolved style for Hillside Select and seemingly more advanced than the older vintages, such as 1995 and 1994. Nevertheless, there is plenty to excite. It’s a big wine, dense purple in color with some lightening at the edge, plenty of crème de cassis fruit, lead pencil shavings, sweet vanilla and earth. It is very ripe, full-bodied, opulent and voluptuously textured. This is terrific stuff, hedonistic, showing secondary/tertiary nuances in the aromatics and essentially a full resolution of the tannin. This wine also seems to have come into its own and is clearly at its peak of flavor. Drink it over the next 10-15 years. (RP)" (12/2014)

1997 Salon "Le Mesnil" Brut Blanc de Blancs Champagne
Bid on this bottle of 1997 Salon "Le Mesnil" Brut Blanc de Blancs Champagne (96W&S, 96WE, 95RP, 93VN, 91WS). Wine Enthusiast: "The fabled Salon's latest release is much riper and softer than the great steely 1996 vintage. This suggests it is likely to be ready to drink soon. In the meantime, the acidity is supremely fresh, with grapefruit edges and green apple flavors. And then there is minerality and a tight, structured aftertaste as a reminder that this great Champagne is always going to be more than its fruit. *Cellar Selection* (RV)" (12/2008)

1997 M. Chapoutier "De L'Oree" Hermitage Blanc (1.5L) (OWC)
Bid on this magnum lot of 1997 M. Chapoutier "De L'Oree" Hermitage Blanc (1.5L) (OWC - (98-100RP), 92ST) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "It is no secret that I adore Chapoutier's luxury cuvee of white Hermitage called Cuvee L'Oree. Made from 90-year old vines and microscopic yields of 10-12 hectoliters per hectare, this wine flirts with perfection. It is a compelling white Hermitage. Made from 100% Marsanne, it is as rich and multidimensional as the fullest, most massive Montrachet money can buy. It is unctuously textured, yet extraordinarily and beautifully balanced. I suspect it will drink well early in life, and then shut down for a few years. It should last for 4-5 decades. It is a huge, chewy, multidimensional wine with spectacular concentration and richness. Notes of white flowers, honey, minerals, and peaches are present in astronomical quantities. In short, this wine must be tasted to be believed. (RP)" (02/1999)
