1997 Mayacamas Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 1997 Mayacamas Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (96VN). Vinous: "The 1997 Cabernet Sauvignon tastes almost like it was made yesterday, such is its freshness. Pliant, explosive and racy, the 1997 bursts on the palate with waves of dark red fruit. The flavors remain pretty primary, so readers who want the full Mayacamas experience will have to give the 1997 further bottle age. That is the bad news. The good news is that the 1997 is a truly special wine that will thrill readers for the next two-plus decades. 96+ (AG)" (06/2014)

1997 Georges Roumier Bonnes Mares Grand Cru
Bid on this bottle of 1997 Georges Roumier Bonnes Mares Grand Cru (91RP, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted at the Roumier dinner at The Ledbury. This bottle of Bonnes-Mares ’97 is not quite as fresh as the one drunk at the same restaurant some two years ago. Earthier on the nose than I recall: wild strawberry, raspberry ad mulberry with just a touch of undergrowth. The palate is animally on the entry, a little rustic, but it coalesces with aeration. Noticeable acidity with great balance and poise, hints of chestnut infusing the sensual, rounded finish. Very fine, if capricious…and not as “feisty” as before. Drink now-2020. (NM)" (09/2010)

1997 Pavillon Rouge, Margaux
Bid on this bottle of 1997 Pavillon Rouge, Margaux. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "As I have noted previously, Chateau Margaux's second wine, Pavillon du Chateau Margaux, has come of age over recent vintages. The 1997, a 40% Merlot/60% Cabernet Sauvignon blend, is a slightly herbal, up-front, lushly-styled wine with plenty of pure fruit, medium body, and no harshness or aggressiveness in the finish." 1997 Joseph Phelps "Insignia" Napa Valley Proprietary Blend (3L)
Bid on this 3L-bottle lot of 1997 Joseph Phelps "Insignia" Napa Valley Proprietary Blend (3L) (100RP, 97WS, 95WE, 94ST, 93W&S). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "An inky/plum/purple color is accompanied by a stunning bouquet of violets, charcoal, creme de cassis and a hint of toast. Prodigious when it hits the palate with a full-bodied expansiveness, there is not a hard edge to be found in the 1997, only velvety tannins, compelling depth and fruit intensity, and stunning purity. It is a perfect expression of Napa viticulture and wine that should continue to age effortlessly for two decades or more. (RP)" (11/2013)

1997 Cos d'Estournel, St-Estèphe
Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 1997 Cos d'Estournel, St-Estèphe ((89-90ST)). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Very good ruby-red. Complex, expressive aromas of cassis, black cherry, licorice and animal fur. Supple but with good vinosity; ripe acids are in harmony with the wine fruit. Finishes with mouthcoating tannins and a peppery note. The top wine of St. Estephe in '97 based on my tastings this spring. (ST)" (06/1999)

Bid on this bottle of 1997 Cornerstone "Collage" Napa Cabernet Sauvignon (96WS). Wine Spectator: "Dark, smooth and chocolaty, with lots of toasty, spicy oak framing a core of earthy currant, black cherry, sage, dill and olive notes. Finishes with drying tannins, but the fruit keeps pumping through. Best from 2002 through 2012. 256 cases made." (10/2000) 92 points Robert Parker: "The 1997 Cabernet Sauvignon Collage Vineyard emphasizes finesse and elegance, although there is no shortage of flavor authority. Of the 1993 Matanzas Creek Sonoma Valley Merlot,Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar writes: "Deep ruby-red. Black cherry, black raspberry, coffee and spice on the nose. Sweetly oaky and stuffed with lush fruit. This shows more texture and depth than the regular bottling of '93 merlot, along with surprising pliancy for a red wine from this vintage. 1997 Paradigm Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1997 Paradigm Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon (92WE, 90ST). Wine Enthusiast: "Leather and tree bark add spiciness to the deep nose. It’s big yet refined, and avoids any shrillness." (11/2000)

1997 Pahlmeyer Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1997 Pahlmeyer Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (98RP, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The finest proprietary red produced by Pahlmeyer to date is their 1997 (a blend of 72% Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% Merlot, and the rest Petit-Verdot, Cabernet Franc, and Malbec). Production is 3,300 cases, and the wine tips the scales at 14.7% alcohol. A super-rich, blockbuster effort, it exhibits an opaque purple color in addition to a fabulous bouquet of black fruits, espresso, cocoa, mocha, and flowers. A prodigious red, with low acidity, spectacular concentration, and fabulous purity as well as overall symmetry, it can be drunk now, but promises to last for 20-25 years. (RP)" (12/2000)

1997 Quilceda Creek Washington Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 1997 Quilceda Creek Washington Cabernet Sauvignon (94RP, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1997 Cabernet Sauvignon was fashioned from 89% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Merlot, and 2% Cabernet Franc. It offers a boisterous rosemary and black fruit-scented nose. Big, broad, and chewy, this medium to full-bodied wine is packed with black fruits, spices, and hints of tar. It is masculine, concentrated, and in need of cellaring. Anticipated maturity: 2005-2020. 1997 Woodward Canyon Columbia Valley Old Vines Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 1997 Woodward Canyon Columbia Valley Old Vines Cabernet Sauvignon. This 1997 Columbia Valley 'Old Vines' is produced from grapes that were planted in the early 1970's. This red wine is a blend of 66.7% cabernet from Champoux vineyard, and 33.3% cabernet from Sagemoor vineyard, both situated above the Columbia River in southeastern Washington. The 1997 vintage gave grapes of full physiological maturity offering a wine of great structure, concentration, and richness of fruit.
