2005 Sine Qua Non "Atlantis Fe2O3-1a,b,c" California Syrah
Bid on this bottle of 2005 Sine Qua Non "Atlantis Fe2O3-1a,b,c" California Syrah (100RP, (94-95ST), 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The perfect 2005 Syrah Atlantis Fe 203-1a,b,c is a blend of 93% Syrah,5% Grenache, and 2% Viognier, with 25% whole clusters... An extraordinarily flowery nose interwoven with scents of blueberries, blackberries, incense, and graphite soars from the glass. Although not the biggest or most concentrated Syrah Krankl has made, it is one of the most nuanced, elegant, and complex. It remains full-bodied, but builds incrementally on the palate, and comes across as elegant and delicate, especially when compared to many California Syrahs. Nevertheless, the intensity is mind-boggling, and the finish lasts for nearly a minute. (RP)" (06/2008)

With striking intensity, great elegance, richness, precision, and delineation, this beautiful Chardonnay brought to mind a top-notch French Corton-Charlemagne. (RP)" (12/2006)

Bid on this bottle of 2005 Sine Qua Non "17th Nail In My Cranium" Sta. Rita Hills Syrah (100RP, 98WS, 97ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: " ... Black as a moonless night, the 2005 17th Nail reveals a stunning nose of spring flowers intermixed with creme de cassis, blackberries, charcoal, graphite, and hints of lard and barbecue spices. Dense, with an endless (and I mean endless) finish, remarkable purity, and layer upon layer of flavor, but no sense of heaviness or flabbiness, this prodigious Syrah should evolve for 15 or more years. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2005 Kapcsandy Family "State Lane Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (98RP, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "98+ points. The 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon, which was 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Merlot and 6% Cabernet Franc (600 cases), reveals loads of licorice, graphite, and blackcurrants in a sexy, toasty style with hints of earth, loamy soil notes and a floral underpinning. The wine is fragrant, with great intensity, a full-bodied mouthfeel, and almost a Mouton-Rothschild-like crème de cassis element. Of the 2005 Domaine Bruno Colin Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru "Chenevottes",Allen Meadows - Burghound writes: "This is definitely more refined with a nose of pain grillé and rosemary oil that complements well the rich yet precise and detailed middle weight flavors that possess a really lovely sense of underlying tension and very good if not truly exceptional complexity, all wrapped in a finish brimming with dry extract." Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The best bottle of this I've ever had, the 2005 Châteauneuf du Pape Reserve was utter perfection on this occasion. Made from a blend of 70% Grenache and 30% Mourvèdre that was raised mostly in demi-muids, it exhibits awesome notes of blackberry, licorice, smoked herbs, graphite and tinges of minerality. 2005 Kistler "Kistler Vineyard" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2005 Kistler "Kistler Vineyard" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir ((93-95RP), 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Steve Kistler has backed off extraction for his Pinot Noirs, resulting in more ethereal (but not light) Pinots that are less burdened down by tannin in their youth, with each vineyard’s distinctive fruit and terroir coming through with much greater intensity. After experimenting with some Dijon clones, Kistler became convinced that the best clone for cool climate vineyards is the Calera Clone from California, and based on what he has achieved, I can’t argue. The deep ruby/purple-hued 2005 Pinot Noir Kistler Vineyard possesses sweet blueberry, raspberry, and forest floor notes, zesty acidity, elegance, and finesse, and a medium-bodied finish. Of the 2004 Domaine Marquis d'Angerville Volnay 1er Cru "Clos des Ducs",Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "The 2004 Volnay 1er Cru Clos des Ducs, poured from magnum, has a deep garnet color. It feels stubborn and obdurate on the nose, as Clos des Ducs can do, with blackcurrant leaf and subtle marine influences that become more pronounced with aeration. Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 2005 Harlan Estate Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (OWC - 98RP, 97VN, 96JS, 95WE, 94WS) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: " ... Gorgeous, and tasting akin to a hypothetical Pauillac blended with a great Pessac-Léognan from Bordeaux comes to mind because of the smoky, subtle barbecue notes, fruitcake, forest floor, graphite and minerality. The wine has stunning fruit and a full-bodied, powerful richness, yet is still nimble on its feet. This is a classic Napa Cabernet Sauvignon from an absolutely magnificent hillside vineyard in the Mayacamas Mountains overlooking the Oakville corridor on the valley floor. This opaque, garnet/purple wine is another tour de force and, once again, proves that Harlan Estate is not only one of the greatest wines of California, but of the world. (RP)" (06/2015)

2005 Scarecrow Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2005 Scarecrow Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (98RP, 96WS, 95ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A candidate for one of the wines of the vintage, this stunning 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon from Rutherford includes in its blend some of the oldest Cabernet vines in existence in Napa Valley. It tips the scales at a lofty 15.4% alcohol, but believe it or not, it is strikingly elegant and pure, with laser-like precision. Inky, dark ruby/purple, with a stunning nose of forest floor, creme de cassis and a subtle, earthy minerality, the wine is built like a skyscraper, with a multidimensional mouthfeel and incredible complexity and richness, yet it never comes close to tasting heavy or overwrought. This is just a great terroir, great winemaking, and the results are profound. It seems to be drinkable now, but is capable of at least another 10-20 years of full-throttle pleasure. This is a superstar and a remarkable effort. Bravo! (RP) " (06/2015)

Bid on this bottle of 2005 DRC Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Richebourg Grand Cru (98VN, 97BH, 97WS, (94-95RP), 94ST). Vinous: "The 2005 Richebourg makes a strong argument that the answer to that question might be a resounding ‘yes!’ Huge beams of tannin are present but nearly covered by the sheer intensity the fruit. Black cherry, plum, mint, lavender and graphite give the 2005 much of its gravitas. Tonight, the 2005 is insanely beautiful and absolutely stellar, and I say that never having truly fallen for the domaine’s Richebourg. 2005 Schrader "Beckstoffer To Kalon, RBS" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2005 Schrader "Beckstoffer To Kalon, RBS" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (96RP, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "As for the 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon RBS, this is Clone 337, and came in at 14.5% alcohol. It is a relatively small cuvée of only 125 cases. This wine exhibits notes of underbrush, forest floor, fresh black and red currants, spicy oak, density, richness, and a supple and velvety texture. This seems to be the most evolved and precocious of the five cuvées, and probably will be the one that most consumers will prefer drinking today. However, don’t discount its aging potential, as it certainly has two decades left in it. (RP)" (06/2015)

Of the 2005 Domaine Jean-Marc Pillot Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru "Les Chenevottes",Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "Good pale color. Aromas of menthol, licorice, flowers, mint and liquid stone; one can really smell the rocks here. Rich, dense, dry and backward, with a powerful mineral-driven gunflint character that reminded me of Chevalier-Montrachet. There's a hint of dried fruits here, but this is almost painfully closed today, with very firm acidity accentuating the wine's minerality. This fermented its sugar until June of '06, noted Pillot, adding that the wine was now "on the starting block." Built to age. (ST)" (09/2007)

It is just slightly more muted but lovely nonetheless. Already complex both aromatically and on the palate, it has superb materials while appearing to be more structured than the 2004. Purchasers will need to be a bit more patient with this 2005 and should consider drinking the 2005 Vinas de Gain in the interim. Kudos to Bodegas Artadi for this tour de force! (JM)" (02/2007)

The winery has considerable history, having been founded in 1885 and then abandoned in 1919 with the beginning of Prohibition. Far Niente possesses one of the great labels in Napa Valley and the wine clearly lives up to the aesthetic beauty of the packaging. Dense purple, the 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon Cave Collection offers beautifully pure crème de cassis fruit, licorice, graphite and subtle spice box. Oakville is, for me, the Pauillac of Napa Valley, and this is first-growth quality without a doubt. Dense purple, it offers notes of blueberry liqueur, St.-Estèphe-like earth, licorice and a gravelly note with incredible depth, lots of blackberries, and a finish that goes on for 45+ seconds. 2005 Larkmead "Solari" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2005 Larkmead "Solari" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (99RP, 92VN, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon Solari is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon named after Larry Polly Solari, who bought Larkmead in 1948. This is great, great wine and certainly one of the undeniable superstars of this vintage. It has impressed me more and more every time I go back to it. Dense purple in color, with a Pauillac first-growth bouquet on steroids, including notes of crème de cassis, graphite, and a touch of oak and flora, the wine is full-bodied and opulent. It has lavish, extravagant levels of concentration as well as an extraordinary elegance and intensity. This is absolutely amazing stuff and is certainly as great as Cabernet Sauvignon can be in Napa Valley. Remarkably, it’s accessible now, but promises to age effortlessly for another quarter of a century. (RP)" (06/2015)

Inky purple with a provocative and profound bouquet of graphite, white flowers, cassis and blackberry as well as hints of coffee and chocolate, this full-bodied classic has perfect balance, undeniable purity and a long finish. 2005 Château de la Tour Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2005 Château de la Tour Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru (92ST). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good full, deep red-ruby. Superripe aromas of black cherry and blueberry, complicated by torrefaction notes of licorice, coffee and mocha. Superconcentrated, lush and sweet; chewy, layered and mouthfilling without coming across as heavy. In comparison to the young 2006, this has nicely integrated its stems, not to mention its licorice, fresh herb and bitter chocolate components. Finishes with superb length. (ST)" (03/2008)
