2006 Peter Michael Chardonnay Tasting Lot
Bid on this 2-bottle 2006 Peter Michael Chardonnay Tasting Lot, including 1-bottle of 2006 Peter Michael "Mon Plaisir" Knights Valley Chardonnay (92RP, 90WS) and 1-bottle of 2006 Peter Michael "Point Rouge" Sonoma County Chardonnay (96ST, 95RP, 93WS). Of the 2006 Peter Michael "Point Rouge" Sonoma County Chardonnay,Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar writes: "Good full yellow. Explosive aromas of orange, smoked meat, coconut and dried almond. Large-scaled and thick but not at all heavy; conveys an impression of solidity but its seamless, spherical texture gives it uncanny refinement for all its power. Not at all a fruity style: apricot and citrus flavors are currently overshadowed by mint and minerals. Finishes with outstanding persistence. 'Our Criots or Batard-Montrachet,' notes Nic Morlet. Indeed, this would perform brilliantly in a blind flight of Burgundy grand crus. (ST)" (06/2008)

2012 Kosta Browne "Gap's Crown Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 2012 Kosta Browne "Gap's Crown Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (93RP, 93VN, 92CG, 92ST, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Similarly styled (to the 2010), the 2012 Pinot Noir Gap’s Crown has plenty of charred spices, plum, licorice, scorched earth and dried flowers to go with a medium to full-bodied, rich, yet nicely focused style on the palate. It took plenty of air, so decant if drinking anytime soon. It should have a solid 8-10 years of evolution. This was another stacked lineup by the team of Dan Kosta and Michael Browne. All of these wines showed the more approachable style of the 2012 vintage, and had seamless, elegant characters. They're beautiful now, but I suspect they will evolve nicely given their overall balance. (JD)" (10/2014)

Of the 2005 Domaine Jean-Marc Morey Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru “Chenevottes”,Allen Meadows - Burghound writes: "A relatively finely detailed nose that is at once ripe, elegant and airy merges into textured, pure and delineated medium weight plus flavors that are delicious, serious and stylish. This is really quite a lovely effort and while not delicate, it's more so than the other wines in the range." (07/2007)

Incredible fragrances of honeysuckle and tropical fruits as well as caramelized oranges and nectarines offer thrilling aromatic fireworks. Long, fine-grained tannins let an echo of iron linger. Not fully ripe, but everything has melded elegantly with time. (JM, Web-2014)"

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Pinot Noir The Pivot is one of the more delicate wines in this lineup of 2009 Pinots. Weightless and elegant, the Pivot impresses for its understated fruit and subtle floral notes. Crushed flowers, spices, dark red cherries and herbs add lift on the finish. Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2014 Cayuse "En Cerise" Walla Walla Valley Syrah ((94-96RP)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2014 Syrah En Cerise was a touch more streamlined and reticent on this occasion, yet still offers beautiful black cherry and cassis fruits, underbrush and a hint of espresso roast in a full-bodied, silky, elegant style. Like all of Christophe’s wines, it will benefit from short-term cellaring. (JD)" (06/2016)

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 1995 Silver Oak Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (95RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A blend of 96% Cabernet Sauvignon and 4% Cabernet Franc, the 1995 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa has turned out even better than the 1994. It possesses a more saturated ruby/purple color, as well as a more flamboyant and exotic bouquet. Moreoever, it seems less evolved. Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2011 Domaine de Montille Beaune 1er Cru "Les Greves" ((89-92BH)). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This gives away a bit of elegance for more complexity, particularly on the cool, pure and airy nose that displays notes of plum, earth, iron and underbrush. There is a slightly smoky character to the round, supple and solidly well-concentrated medium-bodied flavors that offer very fine depth on the balanced and lingering finish. This cellar-worthy effort is the most complete wine among the three Beaune 1ers in 2011." (04/2013)

2013 Aubert "Eastside Vineyard" Russian River Valley Chardonnay
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2013 Aubert "Eastside Vineyard" Russian River Valley Chardonnay (100RP, 95VN, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2013 Chardonnay Eastside is from a vineyard owned by Ulises Valdez, and planted with the Montrachet clone on the very low-yielding rootstock called riparia gloire. This wine displays terrific intensity, plenty of stony minerality, and great precision in its notes of subtle white peach, pineapple, almond paste, brioche and crème brûlée. This is a killer wine and a perfect example of 2013 Chardonnay at its best. I never thought this wine could hit this peak, but the proof is in the tasting, and the wine, which was somewhat shy and reserved after bottling, has truly come to life over the last three to four months. This five-acre vineyard sits on a west-facing hill on Eastside Road in the Russian River. Drink it over the next 10-12 years. (RP)" (12/2015)

Bid on this bottle of 1999 Domaine Leflaive Bâtard Montrachet Grand Cru (94RP, 94ST, 94VN, 93BH). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1999 Bâtard Montrachet Grand Cru from Domaine Leflaive is blessed with a stunning gunflint nose that soars from the glass. It is supremely well controlled and actually shows up the 1999 Chevalier-Montrachet tasted alongside. The palate is rich in the glass with light honeyed tones intermingling with lime, marzipan and citrus lemon. As you would expect, there is superb mineralité locked into this wine, though it is expressed more aromatically than on the palate. Still, it is a deeply impressive wine and it should continue to give pleasure over the next decade at least. (NM)" (06/2015)

The wine reveals sweet tannin, and layers of fruit, including a note of lavender that emerges as the wine sits in the glass. It should drink well for a decade. (RP)" (12/2009)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Houyi Vineyard is another 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, this one from Pritchard Hill. Made from clone 337, the wine is again brilliant. Its blueberry and blackberry fruit are obvious, and the wine also shows some violets along with charcoal and some subtle background oak. The fruit is sweet, the tannins velvety, and the wine voluptuous, opulent and approachable now, although it probably won't hit its peak for at least another 4-5 years and keep for 25 or more. Bid on this bottle of 2000 Péby Faugères, St-Emilion (96RP, (90-91ST), 90JS, 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The luxury cuvee from Faugeres (owned by Bernard Magrez), the 2000 Peby Faugeres is the real deal. Sadly, only 500+ cases were made of this compelling St.-Emilion. An inky/blue/purple hue is accompanied by aromas of espresso roast, blueberry liqueur, smoke, and graphite. Thick and unctuously-textured with impressive purity and depth as well as full-bodied power and richness, it needs another 2-3 years of cellaring, and should last for two decades. (RP)" (06/2010)

2012 Hall "Exzellenz" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2012 Hall "Exzellenz" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (95RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Exzellenz, which comes from their Sacrashe Vineyard in Rutherford seems more tightly knit than the Cabernet Sauvignon Kathryn Hall. Again, it seems like this fruit source of theirs in Rutherford tends to produce wines that need time in bottle. The overwhelming, extravagant, richness is certainly present, as is the vintage personality of opulence, ripeness and fabulous purity and texture. This dense purple wine is loaded, much like all its siblings, but more backward and a longer-term prospect. Forget it for five years and drink it over the next 25. 95+ (RP)" (10/2014)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Surprisingly, the 2001 Barbaresco Riserva Rabaja is the most expressive of Giacosa’s Barbareschi today. I still remember tasting this wine the very first time. It is every bit as dazzling today. Dark fruit, menthol, spices, licorice, graphite and tar meld together in this towering, statuesque Barbaresco. Readers who own the Rabaja are in for a thrilling ride. It is easily one of the best wines Bruno Giacosa has ever made. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2031. (AG)" (04/2012)

1990 d'Yquem, Sauternes
Bid on this bottle of 1990 d'Yquem, Sauternes (99RP, 95WS, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "An extraordinary effort, Yquem's 1990 is a rich and fabulously superb, sweet wine. This wine also possesses lots of elegance and finesse. The wine's medium gold color is accompanied by an exceptionally sweet nose of honeyed tropical fruits, peaches, coconut, and apricots. High quality, subtle toasty oak is well-integrated. The wine is massive on the palate, with layers of intensely ripe botrytis-tinged, exceptionally sweet fruit. Surprisingly well-integrated acidity, and a seamless, full-bodied power and richness have created a wine of remarkable harmony and purity. Certainly it is one of the richest Yquems I have ever tasted, with 50-100 years of potential longevity. An awesome Yquem! Anticipated maturity: 2003-2050+. (RP)" (04/1999)

2012 Hall "Kathryn Hall" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2012 Hall "Kathryn Hall" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (97RP, 95WE, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Kathryn Hall is largely sourced from their Sacrashe Vineyard. The color is dense ruby/purple. The wine is very young, and less evolved than many of its peers, but bursting with potential. Lots of blueberry and black raspberry fruit with a hint of mocha and background oak are all present in this full-bodied, opulent, absolutely spectacular Cabernet Sauvignon. This is a long-distance runner, although not so much because of the tannic structure, because the fruit seems younger and more primary than some of its siblings. Nevertheless, it is loaded with potential promise, and as Kathryn Hall says so frequently, 'Magic.' This full-bodied, classic Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa should hit its prime in 4-5 years and last at least two decades or more. (RP)" (10/2014)

1996 Dominus Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this bottle of 1996 Dominus Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (95RP, 94JS, 93ST, 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1996 Dominus, a blend of 82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc, 4% Merlot, and 4% Petit Verdot, tips the scales at 14.2% alcohol. Although this offering lacks the power, intensity, and compelling characteristics of the 1991 and 1994, it is not far off the pace of those two monumental wines. A super nose of roasted coffee, chocolate, dried herbs, black fruits and kirsch is both intense and persuasive. The wine displays terrific richness, medium to full body, low acidity, a succulent, opulent texture, and superb purity. This beautifully made 1996 is one of the few wines that has successfully tamed the vintage's elevated tannin level. It should be relatively drinkable upon its release, yet evolve nicely for two decades. Impressive! (RP)" (12/1998)

1996 Léoville-Barton, St-Julien
Bid on this bottle of 1996 Léoville-Barton, St-Julien (93RP, 92ST, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1996 Leoville Barton appears more youthful than the 1996 Langoa Barton in the glass with a healthy deep garnet core. The aromatics unfurl gracefully in the glass revealing briary, wild hedgerow, black truffle and sandalwood scents -- firmly in secondary aroma stage but with appreciable presence and intensity. The palate is medium-bodied with grippy tannin that form its firm and classic structure, spice, white pepper and cloves infusing the slightly animally red berry fruit. This is an adorable Léoville Barton that is occupying a very 'happy' place at the moment -- superb precision, old school claret at its best. Decant for an hour no more, then enjoy. (NM)" (10/2016)

2014 Sea Smoke "Southing" Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2014 Sea Smoke "Southing" Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir. A darling of the critics, Sea Smoke remains of the Central Coast's cult Pinot producers. Southing is sourced entirely from the Sea Smoke Estate Vineyard in the Sta. Rita Hills and saw 16 months in 55% new French oak barrels. Southing consistently earns 90+ point scores from Robert Parker each vintage. Notes from the winery on the 2014 bottling: "Each year, our goal for Southing is to create the ideal marriage of complexity and elegance. The ever-changing nose of the 2014 Southing exhibits Montmorency cherry, baking spice and dried flowers. 1996 Lynch-Bages, Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 1996 Lynch-Bages, Pauillac (93RP, 92WS, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1996 exhibits a dark plum/ruby/purple color that is just beginning to lighten at the edge, surprisingly velvety tannins and a classic Pauillac bouquet of lead pencil shavings, cedarwood, black currants, sweet cherries and spice box. This medium to full-bodied, elegant, savory, broad wine is still five years away from full maturity. It should continue to drink well for another 10-15 years. (RP)" (08/2011)

2002 Domaine Comte Armand Pommard 1er Cru "Clos des Epéneaux"
Bid on this bottle of 2002 Domaine Comte Armand Pommard 1er Cru "Clos des Epéneaux" (93VN, 92BH, 90RP). Vinous: "Bright medium red, with little sign of amber. Expressive aromas of redcurrant, cinnamon, mocha, leather and earth, with complicating ferrous notes of iron and tobacco. Wonderfully silky and fine-grained, showing lovely class and lift to its red fruit and spice flavors. Not a powerhouse but remarkably suave and smooth for Pommard. Really rises and lingers on the highly aromatic finish. Still on an upswing. (ST)" (02/2016)

James Suckling: "The purity of fruit in this is fascinating with plums, currants and other dark fruits. Then there is another layer of spices and chocolate. So much cassis. Full and very layered with chewy polished tannins and a long, long finish. Just starting to open. Changes all the time. Still needs a year or two but gorgeous to drink already." (10/2015)

2014 Morlet "La Proportion Dorée" Sonoma County White Blend
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2014 Morlet "La Proportion Dorée" Sonoma County White Blend (100RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A perfect wine is the 2014 La Proportion Dorée, a blend of 65% Semillon, 24% Sauvignon Blanc and 1% Muscadelle. This 650-case cuvée is from 29-year-old, dry farmed vines and was barrel-fermented. The wine is absolutely out of this world. With a light greenish gold color and a killer nose of lanolin, caramelized citrus, honeysuckle, orange marmalade and candle wax, the wine displays great acidity, a magnificent, massive, full-bodied mouthfeel, and seems to come across like a Sonoma County version of a dry Haut Brion blanc. This is singular wine - profound, compelling, whatever! It should drink well for at least 10 years, if you can resist its early charms. (RP)" (12/2015)

2001 Henri Boillot Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru
Bid on this bottle of 2001 Henri Boillot Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru (96RP, (92-96ST), 94BH). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the wines of the vintage, Maison Henri Boillot's 2001 Corton-Charlemagne explodes from the glass with talcum powder, flowers, and ripe apples. Jam-packed with minerals, spices, poached pears, candied apples, acacia blossoms, and gravel, it appears to be holding even more stuffing in reserve. A wine of exceptional power, density, breadth, intensity, and concentration, it also reveals a stunning finish, lasting well over 45 seconds. (PR)" (04/2003)

Bid on this bottle of 2002 Domaine Roumier Ruchottes-Chambertin Grand Cru ((90-93RP), 92ST, 91BH). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The outstanding 2002 Ruchottes-Chambertin (this same wine is also available under the parcel’s owner’s name, Michel Bonnefond) sports a nose of dark cherries, mint, and violets. Medium-bodied, extremely refined, and feminine, this graceful effort is fresh, pure, and vibrant. Loads of flower-imbued dark fruits can be found in its sweet personality. (PR)" (06/2004)

2014 Myriad "Beckstoffer Dr. Crane Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2014 Myriad "Beckstoffer Dr. Crane Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon ((94-96RP)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Dr. Crane Vineyard, 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, tips the scales at 14.9% alcohol and is stunning again, but not at the ethereal level of the 2013. Yet, it’s still mind-boggling, rich and full with blue and black fruits, white flowers and incredible, full-bodied, unctuosity. (RP)" (12/2015)

2010 Turnbull "Black Label" Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2010 Turnbull "Black Label" Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon (96RP, 93WE, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Made from Leopoldina (72%), Fortuna (14%) and Amoenus (14%) fruit, the brilliant 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Black Label offers a heavenly display of spring flowers interwoven with blueberry, blackberry and cassis fruit and subtle wood, licorice and lavender in the background. This full-bodied, rich, beautifully pure, textured and complex wine needs another 4-5 years of cellaring, but it should keep for 25-30 years. (RP)" (10/2013)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2007 Saxum "James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (100RP, 98WS, 97ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Utter perfection, and one of the most profound Rhone Ranger wines I have ever tasted... As with many prodigious wines, the extraordinary freshness, purity, equilibrium, and singularity of this effort is breathtaking. Its dense purple color is accompanied by an extraordinary, incredibly pure, all enveloping, intense, sweet nose of black raspberries, kirsch, spring flowers, spice box, and pepper. Full-bodied with not a hard edge to be found, it is stunningly concentrated with unreal purity, a voluptuous texture, and remarkable freshness for a wine of such power, depth, and concentration. Bid on this bottle of 2005 Sine Qua Non "17th Nail In My Cranium" Sta. Rita Hills Syrah (100RP, 98WS, 97ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: " ... Black as a moonless night, the 2005 17th Nail reveals a stunning nose of spring flowers intermixed with creme de cassis, blackberries, charcoal, graphite, and hints of lard and barbecue spices. Dense, with an endless (and I mean endless) finish, remarkable purity, and layer upon layer of flavor, but no sense of heaviness or flabbiness, this prodigious Syrah should evolve for 15 or more years. (RP, 2009) Tasted again by Jeb Dunnuck in 2013: "I opted to just list my scores for the older releases as I find Bob-s initial write-ups spot on." (JD)" (08/2013)

2013 Schrader "Beckstoffer To Kalon, CCS" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2013 Schrader "Beckstoffer To Kalon, CCS" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (100RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "There is something ethereal about the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon CCS, a wine that I tend to give more perfect scores to than of the other Schrader offerings. This is clone 4 from a special block of the Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard in Oakville, and it always seems to have these incredible, explosive aromatics ranging from blueberry to blackberry to cassis to spring flowers and lead pencil shavings. It’s always one of the more seductive wines early on, with sweet, velvety tannins, a plush, succulent mouthfeel, full-bodied splendor and majestic texture. This is a killer effort of great intensity and presence. Drink it over then next 25-30 years. (RP)" (10/2015)

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2014 Aubert "Eastside Vineyard" Russian River Valley Chardonnay ((98-100RP), 96VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2014 Chardonnay Eastside may also flirt with perfection. This wine is fashioned in the same style, but incredibly may be even more concentrated, intense and full. It is remarkable what Mark Aubert is doing so brilliantly with his winemaking program, and if readers haven’t beaten a path to his door (or mailing list), it’s about time, as these are some of the most complex and satisfying wines on Planet Earth.(RP)" (12/2015)

1955 Mouton-Rothschild, Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 1955 Mouton-Rothschild, Pauillac (97RP, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1955 should be a vintage to buy at auction as I suspect the price is more reasonable than what such acclaimed vintages as 1959 and 1961 fetch. The color reveals no amber or rust, only a slight lightening of intensity at the edge. The nose offers up that explosive Mouton perfume of mint, leather, cassis, black olives, and lead pencil. In the mouth, there is stunning concentration, magnificent extraction of fruit, and plenty of tannin in the long finish. The wine still tastes remarkably young and could easily last another 20-30 years. Amazing! " (10/1994)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2011 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Les Cherbaudes has a feminine, lifted bouquet that is very fragrant with cold stone and spice. This has a lovely voluminous palate adorned with immense precision, fresh acidity and lovely tension and race toward the finish. Full of vigor and minerality, the Cherbaudes is one of Jean-Marie’s finest 2011s. Drink 2014-2023. (NM)" (08/2013)

2010 Larkmead Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 2010 Larkmead Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (95JS, 95RP, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Larkmead’s entry-level 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate captivates all of the senses from the very first taste. A huge, opulent yet structured Cabernet, the 2010 shows off tons of richness, power and structure, all while maintaining considerable detail and nuance. Black currants, melted road tar and asphalt blast thorough to the intense, palate-staining finish. I can’t imagine this being ready to drink before its 10th birthday. The 2010 is 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Merlot, 7% Petit Verdot, 7% Cabernet Franc and 3% Malbec. This is a great 2010. Anticipated maturity: 2020-2030. 95+ points. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2005 Kapcsandy Family "State Lane Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (98RP, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "98+ points. The 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon, which was 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Merlot and 6% Cabernet Franc (600 cases), reveals loads of licorice, graphite, and blackcurrants in a sexy, toasty style with hints of earth, loamy soil notes and a floral underpinning. The wine is fragrant, with great intensity, a full-bodied mouthfeel, and almost a Mouton-Rothschild-like crème de cassis element. This wine is drinking well now, but will continue to evolve for another two decades. (RP)" (06/2015)
