2013 Cayuse "Impulsivo" Walla Walla Valley Tempranillo
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2013 Cayuse "Impulsivo" Walla Walla Valley Tempranillo ((97-99RP)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Aging in 50% new puncheons (they're moving to using more and more puncheons), the 2013 Impulsivo was one of the top barrel samples I was able to taste from the vintage. Inky colored, with incredible purple fruits, violets, licorice, cedar and pen ink-like aromatics, this thrilling, dense, concentrated and structured Tempranillo will require 3-4 years of bottle age and keep for over two decades. Allen Meadows - Burghound: " *Don't Miss!* Subtle oak spice and ripe plum and black raspberry aromas introduce rich, round and chiseled, muscular and very full-bodied sappy flavors that culminate in a punchy, robust and ultra powerful finish. This is a huge, indeed massive but not heavy or excessively rich wine that maintains a wonderful sense of balance. 1999 Chateau Montelena "Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 1999 Chateau Montelena "Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (95RP, (92-95ST), 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1999 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate (an 8,600-case cuvee made from yields of 1.98 tons of fruit per acre) is considered by Bo Barrett to be a 'great' year. The wine boasts a saturated inky/purple color as well as extraordinary density of fruit and cassis, and huge tannin, body, and extract. It is a substantial, palate-staining, long, muscular Cabernet that should only be purchased by connoisseurs with cold cellars as well as patience. Anticipated maturity: 2006-2030...The Estate Cabernet Sauvignon remains one of California's most remarkable Cabernets. I have been following it since the early seventies, and even the most difficult vintages are still drinking beautifully. The home vineyard is so consistent that even in vintages such as 1989 and 1998, this wine is far better than its competition." (08/2002)

Strawberry, raspberry and spicecake on the nose, with a sexy sandalwood quality. In a distinctly vibrant style, with the sexy spice and red berry qualities following through in the mouth. Sappy and fine-grained wine, finishing on a suave note of candied flowers. This will be the last vintage for this wine." (06/2010)

2005 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2005 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (100RP, 96WE, 94ST, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "From a hot vintage and incredible any way you look at it, the 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon has that laser-like focus of a cooler year, yet the voluptuousness and richness of a warmer year. Smoked black fruits, coffee, truffle and pen ink-like aromas and flavors all emerge from this massive, incredibly full-bodied effort and on the palate, it carries itself perfectly with a weightless, yet decadent texture, masses of polished tannin and blockbuster length. More classic and textbook than the 2007, it is every bit as good. Enjoy it over the coming two decades or more. Drink now-2033. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2006 Pinot Noir Bodega Headlands Cuvee Elizabeth is undeniably a grand cru effort. Black raspberry, spring flower (violets), and kirsch aromas soar from the glass of this dark ruby/purple-tinged wine. Medium to full-bodied with zesty acidity, beautiful penetration, and a soaring mid-palate as well as length result in a prodigious example of Pinot Noir that should drink well for a decade or more." 2012 Saxum "James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2012 Saxum "James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (97RP, 94AG). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "There are 1,580 cases of the 2012 James Berry Vineyard and it reminds me of the 2009 Janasse Chaupin (which is one of Justin’s favorite wines). Incorporating more Mourvedre than normal, it’s made from 43% Grenache, 29% Mourvedre, 18% Syrah and 10% Counoise that’s aged in a combination of concrete and barrel. Rock star stuff, with fabulous black raspberry, cassis, spring flowers and charred meat aromas and flavors, this beauty hits the palate with full-bodied richness and depth, yet stays lively, incredibly pure and elegant, with lots of fine tannin emerging on the finish. It will benefit from 2-3 years in the cellar and have 15-20 years of ultimate longevity. (JD)" (08/2014)

Bid on this bottle of 2009 Sine Qua Non "The Thrill of Stamp Collecting" Syrah (95RP, 95ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Syrah The Thrill Of impresses for its poise and underlying energy. Dark fruit, spices, licorice and violets sit on a core of firm tannin as this powerful wine opens up in the glass. Today, The Thrill Of comes across as very, very young. The intensity of the fruit and the oak are dominant at present. In another few years the wine should be spectacular. 2011 Aubert Carneros Chardonnay
Bid on this bottle of 2011 Aubert Carneros Chardonnay (91RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2011 Chardonnay Carneros is classy, layered and exceptionally beautiful. Lemon, apricots, pears and white flowers all wrap around the palate, but what stands out most is the sheer silkiness and textural finesse of the wine. Moreover, tropical notes emerge with time, but in the end, this is a fairly restrained Chardonnay from Mark Aubert. Sweet floral notes meld into the soft, caressing finish. In 2011, Aubert lost a considerable amount of fruit in Hyde. The bulk of the wine was sold off, but Aubert bottled the best 40% and declassified it into the Carneros appellation wine. Tasting the 2011, I can only wonder what might have been had the vintage not been so capricious. (AG)" (04/2013)

2005 Peter Michael "Les Pavots" Knights Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2005 Peter Michael "Les Pavots" Knights Valley Bordeaux Blend (95RP, 93ST, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2005 Les Pavots (3,600 cases of 63% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Cabernet Franc, 12% Merlot, and the rest Petit Verdot) is a sensational wine, with a style that suggests a hypothetical blend of a great St.-Emilion and Pomerol. Chocolatey cassis notes intermixed with incense, licorice, and a hint of black olive are present in this wine. When it hits the palate, it comes across as very Pomerol-like, with lushness, full body, and opulence. The tannins are sweet, the pH high, and the wine gorgeously full, pure, dense, and long. It’s a terrific example of non-interventionalist winemaking that has turned out a beautiful, silky-textured wine that should age effortlessly for 15+ years. Like so many 2005s, this wine has really put on weight since I tasted it last year. (RP)" (12/2007)

2012 Scarecrow Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

It boasts an opaque purple color as well as copious notes of spring flowers, blackberries, black raspberries and wet rocks. The wine’s gravelly minerality and spectacular opulence and density make it an instant classic. This massive, full-bodied 2012 should drink beautifully for 15-20+ years. It showed incredibly well last year, and it still reveals the potential to possibly merit a 3-digit score – it’s that special. (RP)" (10/2014)

Domaine Leroy's lineup ranges from this Bourgogne Rouge at about $35 to bottles costing several hundred dollars. And though the price may seem high for an entry-level Burgundy, the 2003 Bourgogne Rouge is better than many premier crus at twice the price. 2008 Abreu "Thorevilos" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this bottle of 2008 Abreu "Thorevilos" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend ((96-98RP)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "As outstanding as all the Abreu wines are, if I had to choose one that stands apart from the others it would be Thorevilos. The 2008 Thorevilos is the most complete and deeply satisfying of Abreu’s 2008s because the balance of fruit and structure is so impeccable. The 2008 literally explodes onto the palate with masses of dark fruit, tar, licorice and smoke. There is a fleshiness and depth of the fruit here that separates the Thorevilos from the other 2008s. Layers of fruit build towards the massive, masculine finish. In 2008 Thorevilos is 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Cabernet Franc and 15% Petit Verdot. Anticipated maturity: 2018-2038. (AG)" (12/2011)

Harvest was October 15 to 17. The wine has really come on since I last tasted it, and it needs at least another 10 years of cellaring. The blend was 53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 37% Merlot, 9% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot. The wine is opaque black/blue, with an incredible nose of blueberry and blackberry liqueur, with hints of incense, licorice, and acacia flowers. Tannins are incredibly sweet and very present. Wine Spectator: " *Top 100 Wines of 2012* This takes a decidedly old-school approach with its very distinctive bay leaf and juniper notes leading the way, along with roasted mesquite and alder wood. The core of steeped black currant, roasted plum and blackberry fruit waits in reserve while the long, ganache- and tar-filled finish has nice rugged grip, with a peppery echo. Of the 2008 Domaine Felettig Chambolle-Musigny,Wine Advocate's Neal Martin writes: "Felettig is definitely a name to keep your eye upon, wines that are very good now, but intuition tells me could really become great as Gilbert continues to invest in the property and hone his craft. 2006 Uccelliera Brunello di Montalcino
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2006 Uccelliera Brunello di Montalcino (96JS, 96RP, 94WE, 93WS, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2006 Brunello di Montalcino is a striking wine blessed with gorgeous clarity and precision in an effortless, weightless style. Dark cherries, tobacco, incense, dried flowers and minerals come together beautifully in the glass in this sensual, understated wine. Tobacco, licorice, menthol and an assortment of other balsamic aromas and flavors add complexity and character to the vivid, textured finish. This is a fabulous effort from proprietor Andrea Cortonesi. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2026. I would be hard-pressed to name another grower who has made such huge strides in recent years as has Andrea Cortonesi. The artisan tradition of Montalcino is alive and well in this small, no-frills winery, while the wines have never been better. (AG)" (05/2011)

Of the 2011 Sanguis "Bossman" Central Coast Syrah,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "A more long term prospect, the 2011 Syrah Bossman (100% Syrah) comes all from Bien Nacido and spent 28 months in 15% new oak. Showing classic Santa Barbara County Syrah notes of dark fruits, exotic pepper, smoked herbs and hints of leather, it flows onto the palate with medium to full-bodied richness, a seamless, elegant texture and fine tannin. 1997 Arnaldo Caprai Sagrantino di Montefalco 25th Anniversary
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1997 Arnaldo Caprai Sagrantino di Montefalco 25th Anniversary (90RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Caprai’s top wine, the Sagrantino di Montefalco 25 Anni, was first released in 1993 to commemorate the estate’s 25th anniversary. It has since gone on to become one of Italy’s most recognized wines. The 25 Anni starts as a vineyard selection of the finest fruit at harvest, followed by a second selection in the cellar. Essentially the 25 Anni represents the finest barrels of Sagrantino the estate has produced in a given year. The wine undergoes malolactic fermentation in French oak and sees approximately 50-60% new barrels, depending on the vintage. The 1997 Sagrantino di Montefalco 25 Anni is a powerful wine packed with generous fruit. This doesn’t appear to be a perfectly clean 25 Anni, as elements of brettiness detract from the wine’s overall balance. Ultimately the 1997 is a rather one-dimensional wine, despite its considerable richness. (AG)" (09/2009)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1996 Domaine Vincent Dauvissat Chablis "Les Clos" Grand Cru ((94-96RP), 96ST, 95WS, 94BH). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Revealing powerful and expansive aromas of liquid minerals, spices, and cloves, the massive, oily, and full-bodied Chablis Les Clos is a he-man of a wine. Its complex and layered core is tightly packed with minerals, juniper berries, citrus fruit and apples. This extraordinary Chablis offers superb definition and delineation as well as an exemplary finish. As it finishes its elevage in Dauvissat's cellar I would not be surprised if this elegant monster becomes even better than when I tasted it in November, 1997. (PR)" (02/1998)

1990 Paolo Scavino "Bric del Fiasc" Barolo
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1990 Paolo Scavino "Bric del Fiasc" Barolo (97RP, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1990 vintage may have given Scavino a little more to work with as his 1990 Barolo Bric del Fiasc (3-liter) is utterly profound. Rich, dark and sensual, the wine flows onto the palate with marvelous concentration and depth. Layers of menthol, spices, sweet roses and dark fruit swirl around in the glass as this magnificent, regal Barolo struts its stuff. A veritable fountain of youth, this towering Barolo promises to drink spectacularly well for another two decades. From a standard bottle the 1990 is approachable, but readers lucky enough to own large formats will want to find a way to wait a few more years. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2030. (AG)" (02/2010)

1976 Lopez de Heredia "Vina Bosconia"' Gran Reserva Rioja
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1976 Lopez de Heredia "Vina Bosconia"' Gran Reserva Rioja (96ST, 95RP, 91WS). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Pale-edged red. Multidimensional nose of raspberry, black plum, orange zest, coffee, milk chocolate, game and a superripe whiff of raisin. Uncanny sweetness in the mouth, with a strong spine of acidity framing and intensifying the fruit flavors. Really remarkable acid/fruit balance. Big, rich, powerful and deep. Finishes extremely long and magically fresh. Contains about 80% tempranillo, a bit high for Bosconia, which is always higher in tempranillo (and spends less time in barrel) than Tondonia. The Bosconia and Tondonia gran reservas are selections made in the cellar; both are from Viña Tondonia grapes, a 100-hectare holding purchased by María Jose's great-grandfather in 1912 (the first Viña Tondonia Gran Reserva was from the 1920 vintage). Bosconia, says María Jose, is a stronger, more youthful, longer-lasting style of Rioja, with
