2011 Saxum "Paderewski Vineyard" Paso Robles Red Blend
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2011 Saxum "Paderewski Vineyard" Paso Robles Red Blend (97RP, 94ST, 94VN, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Kicking off the 2011s and about as seductive and sexy as they come in the vintage, the 2011 Paderewski Vineyard is an eclectic blend of 34% Zinfandel, 31% Mourvedre, 16% Tempranillo, 10% Syrah and 9% Petite Sirah that comes from a warmer terroir of chalky, calcareous soils. Full-bodied, seamless and perfectly balanced, it offers brilliant aromas and flavors of black raspberry, rose petal, bramble and violets that are to die for. A big wine to be sure, yet it stays remarkably elegant, poised and fresh on the palate, with no hard edges and an approachable, utterly impossible-to-resist profile that keeps you pouring another glass. Enjoy this gorgeous wine anytime over the coming 10-12 years. (JD)" (08/2014)

2007 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2007 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (100RP, 96WE, 95ST, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A monumental wine in the making, the 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon is one of those wines that presents such an over the top array of aromas and flavors that it’s hard to figure out what you think about it with just a quick glance. It’s only with the second or third sip that you really start to see how special this effort truly is. Offering up perfumed, intense aromas of plum, violets, ink, licorice and black currants, it flows onto the palate with a massive, incredibly full-bodied texture that builds through the mid-palate and carries layers of polished tannins, awesome purity of fruit and blockbuster length. Most likely not for everyone given the sheer size, it is an incredible wine in my opinion. Still tasting like a barrel sample, it will have 30+ total years of longevity. Drink 2017-2037. Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2012 Horsepower "The Tribe Vineyard" Walla Walla Valley Syrah (97RP, 96WE, 95WS, 93VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "More gamy, bloody and meaty than the Sur Echalas Vineyard Syrah, the 2012 Syrah The Tribe Vineyard is a full-bodied, elegant, concentrated and structured effort that gives up complex notes of savory dark fruits, beef blood, dried herbs, pepper and olives. It's another incredible Syrah that needs short-term cellaring, but will have two decades of evolution. (JD)" (06/2015)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 Maybach Family "Materium" Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon (97RP, 94WS, 93ST, 93VN, 93WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Materium is a beautiful example of a wine with extraordinary purity and delineation. It possesses copious quantities of charcoal, barbecue smoke, graphite, blackberries, blueberries and creme de cassis. Full-bodied power is clearly on display, but the wine has a purity and balance that are sensational to behold. This classic Cabernet is a superstar of the vintage. (RP)" (10/2013)

2009 Marcassin "Blue Slide Ridge" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Marcassin "Blue Slide Ridge" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (98RP, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The prodigious 2009 Pinot Noir Blue Slide Ridge reminds me of one of the great vintages of the DRC Vosne-Romanee. Notes of forest floor, jammy raspberries, blueberries, boysenberries and spring flowers are followed by a full-bodied, textured, layered mouthfeel, and great intensity, precision and freshness. This stunning 2009 is already showing considerable complexity, and should age effortlessly for 10-15 years. The visionary husband and wife team of John Wetlaufer and Helen Turley have created a largely unprecedented legacy of extraordinary quality that is unsurpassed by anyone else in Northern California. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Domaine de la Janasse Châteauneuf-du-Pape Vieilles Vignes (99RP, 95ST, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Chateauneuf du Pape Vieilles Vignes is considered by many observers in Chateauneuf du Pape to be the wine of the vintage, and it can most certainly be counted among the finest. A blend of 80% Grenache and the rest Syrah and Mourvedre tipping the scales at 15.5% natural alcohol (which is slightly less than the Chaupin), the wine has an inky black/purple color as well as incredible density and richness, with notes of soy, blackberry, and blueberry liqueur, incense, acacia flowers and licorice. The layered, full-bodied mouthfeel displays no heat, but the wine has massive concentration and a silky, smooth finish. Because of the low acidity in the 2009s, and sweet tannins, this has turned out to be a glorious example of Chateauneuf du Pape to drink over the next two decades. (RP)" (10/2011)

2013 Outpost Howell Mountain Zinfandel
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2013 Outpost Howell Mountain Zinfandel ((92-94RP), (91-93VN)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2013 Zinfandel is a winner. Beautiful notes of black raspberries, blackberries, pepper, roasted meats, herbs and spice are followed by a full-bodied, opulent wine that will spend 16 months in one-third new and two-thirds used French oak. Drink now-2020. This is a fabulous source of terrific wines from owners Kathy and Frank Dotzler and their multi-talented winemaker, Thomas Rivers Brown. Not only are the wines outstanding, but their pricing policy is among the less ego-driven in Napa Valley. That is to be applauded. The 2012s are sexy, outrageously fruity, gorgeous wines that are as sensual as you could want. For me, the two finest Grenaches being made in California come from Alban’s Edna Valley Vineyard, and Manfred and Elaine Krankl’s Sine Qua Non further south. However, I must say the Outpost Grenache from Howell Mountain (from the Alban Clone which report

Of the 2014 Cayuse "En Chamberlin" Walla Walla Valley Syrah,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "Always the most exotic in the lineup, the meaty, iron, black olive and floral-scented 2014 Syrah en Chamberlin Vineyard has a big core of ripe tannin and sweet fruit in its full-bodied, exuberant style. Given the polish to its tannin, it should drink nicely in its youth, but I suspect it will be at its best from 2020-2034. (JD)" (06/2016)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1998 Cos d'Estournel, St-Estèphe (90JS, 90ST). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Red-ruby. Currant, black olive, minerals and currant leaf on the nose. Bright, pure and focused, with aromatic inner-mouth flavors of cedar and lead pencil. Austere but not dry. More fruity and less tannic than the '96, but of roughly similar weight. Of the 2009 Carlisle "Bedrock Vineyard" Sonoma Valley Mourvedre,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "The 2009 Mourvedre Bedrock Vineyard (100% Mourvedre with 15.4% alcohol) exhibits that varietal's floral, blueberry and porcini mushroom-like characteristics as well as full-bodied power, impressive ripeness and sweet tannin. Mourvedre is a difficult varietal, but this effort is ripe with silky tannins rather than vegetal with tea-tasting fruit and excessively astringent tannin. 1999 Cheval Blanc, St-Émilion
Bid on this bottle of 1999 Cheval Blanc, St-Émilion (93RP, 92ST, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The complex, explosively fragrant 1999 Cheval Blanc is a blend of 59% Merlot and 41% Cabernet Franc. It is already showing well, which is a good sign for a wine that traditionally is reserved early in life, but puts on weight and richness in the bottle. Stylistically, this wine is probably cut from the same mold as vintages such as 1985, 1966, and 1962. The color is a dense ruby with purple nuances. Once past the blockbuster bouquet of menthol, leather, black fruits, licorice, and mocha, the wine reveals medium body, extraordinary elegance, purity, and sweet, harmonious flavors with no hard edges. This is a seamless beauty of finesse, charm, and concentration. The 1999 is an exciting Cheval Blanc to drink relatively young. Anticipated maturity: 2006-2022. (RP)" (04/2002)

Since 2006-2007 Christophe Perrot-Minot has begun to back away from the dark, concentrated wines he used to make, and the results are stunning. The fruit sees 5-7 days cold soak. Allen Meadows - Burghound: "There is virtually no reduction here and the soaring nose offers notes of violets, earth, red and black Pinot fruit and a distinct animale component that introduces big, robust and intense flavors that are textured, indeed even chewy but the tannic spine is well integrated on the hugely long finish. There is ample wood in evidence but there is so much concentration that the wine should integrate it successfully with time in bottle." (01/2007)

Of the 2013 Aubert "UV Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "The rich, prodigious, full-bodied 2013 Pinot Noir UV, made from the Calera and Vosne-Romanée clones, is a denser, richer wine offering abundant notes of blueberries, blackberries, forest floor and strong hints of Asian hoisin sauce, dark fruits and forest floor. There are approximately 1,000 cases of this sensational Pinot, which Mark Aubert decanted 12 hours in advance of my visit. There is not a trace of new oak in this wine, which spent 10 months in 100% new barrels. Like all the 2013 Pinot Noirs, it has a decade or more of aging potential. (RP)" (12/

Bid on this bottle of 1982 Figeac, St-Emilion (94JG, 94JS, 93WS, 92ST). James Suckling: "This is a wine that has been maligned over the years by a number of critics but I could never understand why. Perhaps there is a some bottle inconsistency? I drank a bottle last week in Shanghai at Fook Lam Moon restaurant with some friends and my girlfriend and it was wonderful, with dark chocolate, mushrooms and black truffle character that turned to dried fruits such as light prunes. It's full-bodied with amazing decadent fruit and a dense palate. Soft textured, long and delicious. So rich and gorgeous. Drink or hold. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Among the most saturated blue/purple/black-colored examples of the vintage, Taylor's 2000 tastes like a young vintage of Chateau Latour on steroids. Aromas of graphite, blackberry liqueur, creme de cassis and smoke jump from the glass. Spectacularly concentrated and enormously endowed, with sweetness allied to ripe tannin, decent acidity, and layer upon layer of fruit and extract, this is the leading candidate for the port of the vintage. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2040. (RP)" (10/2002)

This broad-scaled effort should age for up to a decade and last several more. Magnificent. The estate wines of Rhys Vineyards are made from biodynamically farmed fruit and owner Kevin Harvey and winemaker Jeff Brinkman continue to drive the wines to new heights...Harvey has chosen his vineyard sites with a keen eye and then obsessively developed them with the one goal of obtaining fruit that expresses unerringly the uniqueness of site. Crushed rocks, slate and minerals add considerable depth and energy to a core of expressive dark red fruit. The Perrieres impresses for its length, energy and sheer drive. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2000 M. Chapoutier "Barbe Rac" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (95RP, 93ST, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "There are approximately 500 cases of this wine. It is a large-scaled Chateauneuf du Pape that represents the antithesis of La Bernardine. This wine has been spectacular, and I have been a frequent buyer and consumer of this wine since the first vintage Michel Chapoutier made, 1989. The Barbe Rac is a 100% Grenache cuvee produced from a vineyard planted in 1901 near the famed La Gardine estate. It is aged 80% in tank and 20% in large demi-muids barrels. The deep ruby/purple-colored 2000 Chateauneuf du Pape Barbe Rac boast a fabulous perfume of kirsch liqueur, licorice, ground pepper, and a hint of Provencal herbs. Ripe, full-bodied, and concentrated, with huge quantities of glycerin as well as a finish that lasts for nearly 50 seconds, this spectacular Chateauneuf du Pape possesses a sweetness and endearing accessibility that make it hard to resist. 2013 Joseph Drouhin Beaune Clos des Mouches Blanc
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2013 Joseph Drouhin Beaune Clos des Mouches Blanc (93RP, 90BH). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2013 Beaune 1er Cru Clos des Mouches was picked October 1-10, whole-cluster fruit and matured for 11 months in oak, bottled in September 2015 (incidentally, it be will packed in threes because of the small crop.) The nose is well defined, but it takes a little while to find its voice, eventually revealing white peach, wax resin and hints of white pepper. The palate is well balanced, understated at first, but then fanning out beautifully on the mid-palate with white pepper and shaved ginger rendering the finish lively and long in the mouth. It is remarkable that such a great white Burgundy has been produced in such a devastated vineyard. Victory clutched from the hands of defeat.(NM)" (12/2014)

1999 Monbousquet, St-Emilion
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1999 Monbousquet, St-Emilion (94RP, 91ST, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The dense ruby/purple-colored 1999 Monbousquet exhibits a port-like bouquet of super-ripe black cherry and black currant fruit intermixed with scents of coffee, tobacco, and vanilla. Tipping the scales at a whopping 14% alcohol (extremely high for Bordeaux), this wine, which spends 18 months in 100% new oak and is bottled unfined and unfiltered, is a blend of 60% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc, and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. It was cropped at an amazingly low 30 hectoliters per hectare. It possesses an amazing texture, a mid-palate that you could get lost in, and a sensational 40-45 second finish. The exotic aromas, incredible texture, and abundant fruit are reminiscent of Pomerol's renowned micro-cuvee, Le Pin. The 1999 is even better from bottle than it was from cask. It is a remarkable effort for the vintage. (RP)" (04/2002)

Of the 2004 Produttori del Barbaresco Barbaresco,John Gilman writes: "The 2004 blended Barbaresco from the Produttori is another classic example of this lovely wine in a top-notch vintage. The bouquet is deep, complex and jumps beautifully from the glass in a mélange of licorice, black cherries, a touch of plum, game, fresh oregano, woodsmoke, soil and a bit of camphor. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, deep and very pure, with classic balance, a lovely core, tangy acids and moderate tannins on the long, soil-driven finish that closes with great grip. Of the 2007 Sea Smoke "Ten" Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir,Wine Enthusiast writes: " *Best of 2010, Cellar Selection* This very dense, tannic Pinot Noir represents a triumph for both the winery, the vintage and the region it represents. A multi-clone blend (hence the name) with high, cool-climate acidity and aged in 100% new oak, it’s still young, fresh and tight. The astringency throws a cloak over the raspberries, cherries, rosehip tea and Indian spice flavors, which reveal themselves only reluctantly. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The dark garnet-colored 1961 Haut-Brion is pure perfection, with gloriously intense aromas of tobacco, cedar, chocolate, minerals, and sweet red and black fruits complemented by smoky wood. This has always been a prodigious effort (it was the debut vintage for Jean Delmas). It is extremely full-bodied, with layers of viscous, sweet fruit. This wine is akin to eating candy. There is lovely definition to be found as this classic feeling, mid-weight Pajana opens up in the glass. Layers of ripe dark fruit, spices, flowers, licorice and minerals develop seamlessly through to the close. I am floored by the wine’s volume, depth and length. 1999 Margaux, Margaux
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1999 Margaux, Margaux (95RP, 93ST, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1999 Chateau Margaux has been the standout First Growth since I first tasted the wine from barrel. Now reaching its plateau of maturity, it has an understated nose at first, armed with impressive mineralité with a gorgeous graphite seam. The definition and precision here is top class. The palate is medium-bodied and smooth in texture, very harmonious and assured, surprisingly with some new oak still to be fully assimilated into the wine. The signature Margaux traits of crushed black cherries and violets comes through towards the finish, suggestions of raspberry reserve and desiccated orange peel enhancing the long finish. Perhaps I might temper my initial enthusiasm for the 1999 Château Margaux...but only slightly. It comes highly recommended. Tasted May 2016. (NM)" (10/2016)
