2007 Williams Selyem "Litton Estate Vineyard" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2007 Williams Selyem "Litton Estate Vineyard" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir (100WE, 94CG, 93ST, 91BH, 91WS). Wine Enthusiast: "A spectacular Pinot Noir, but a very young one, and extremely dry. It’s a wine of great structure, with rich acids and tannins framing extraordinarily complex flavors of grilled cherries, strawberries and raspberries, with complicating notes of cola, pomegranates, orange zest, anise, dusty Asian spices and smoky sandalwood. A truly great Pinot Noir from a great vintage that needs time in the bottle to express itself. The vineyard, which is owned by the winery, is only 19 acres, planted to an array of newer and older clones. Best after 2013, if you can keep your hands off." (02/2010)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2006 Saxum "James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (95RP, 93ST, 92WE, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "An unfined/unfiltered blend of 45% Syrah, 38% Grenache, and 17% Mourvedre, aged 32 months in a combination of wood vessels, the prodigious 2006 James Berry Vineyard Proprietary Red exhibits beautiful sweet creme de cassis, black raspberry, blackberry, truffle, smoke, and herb notes. This spicy, rich, full-bodied effort should drink beautifully for a decade. (RP)" (08/2009)

2008 Sine Qua Non "The Line" California Grenache
Bid on this bottle of 2008 Sine Qua Non "The Line" California Grenache (98RP, 97VN, 95JS, 95WS, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This wine was just released in April of this year, and is a blend of 87.5% Grenache, 11% Syrah, and 1.5% Viognier, with 21% whole clusters used in the Grenache component. Seventy-eight percent of it came from the 11 Confessions Vineyard and the balance from Bien Nacido and the White Hawk. It is no measly wine at 15.5% alcohol, but it displays extraordinary berry fruit and kirsch notes intermixed with lavender and other floral components. Intense, full-bodied, voluptuously textured, and stunningly pure, with no real noticeable oak (21% new French oak was used, most of it the larger demi-muids), this beauty has put on weight and is showing additional complexity since I first tasted it. (RP)" (08/2011)

2012 Caymus "40th Anniversary" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2012 Caymus "40th Anniversary" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (96RP, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "They appear to be immune to some of winedom’s less than intelligent trends and fads that we see from time to time, and the result is a spectacular 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon 40th Anniversary offering. Its dense purple/black color is followed by copious quantities of crème de cassis and blackberry fruit, silky tannins, a voluptuous texture and stunning purity as well as length. This full-bodied effort is a fabulous example of Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon as well as a tribute to this amazing family. It is so good now, why wait? However, I’m sure that like most vintages of Caymus, it will last for 20-25 years. Amazing! (RP)" (10/2014)

Graphite, orange peel and purplish hued fruits add an exotic flair on the highly expressive finish. (AG)" (12/2014)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The wine out distances both Leoville Las Cases and Leoville Barton, but all three of them are compelling efforts. Full-bodied, dense purple in color, with floral notes intermixed with blackberries, cassis, graphite and spring flowers, this full-bodied, legendary effort is long and opulent, with wonderfully abundant yet sweet tannin, a skyscraper-like mid-palate and a thrilling, nearly one-minute finish. 2008 O'Shaughnessy Mt. Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2008 O'Shaughnessy Mt. Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon (98RP, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Absolutely prodigious is the 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon Mt. Veeder (500 cases of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon off a site west of Oakville). Dense bluish purple to the rim, with a sensational nose of forest, flowers, graphite, and blueberry liqueur intermixed with creme de cassis and burning embers/charcoal, this wine has fabulous fruit, a remarkably full-bodied texture, great purity, and a finish that goes on for close to 50+ seconds. 2007 Domaine William Fèvre Chablis Grand Cru "Vaudésir"
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2007 Domaine William Fèvre Chablis Grand Cru "Vaudésir" (94BH, 93RP, 93VN, 92WS). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This is even more elegant than it usually is, which is saying something as there is a good argument to be made that the Fèvre Vaudésir is the current reference standard for the vineyard though I hasten to add that it's by no means an open and shut case. A pure and almost delicate nose that is decidedly more austere than virtually any of the preceding wines opens with a classic green fruit aromatic profile brimming with Chablis character that is followed by rich, full, naturally sweet and equally powerful flavors of simply incredible purity and focus as they finish with outstanding intensity that is borderline painful. This is a dramatic wine yet perfectly composed with a pronounced stony quality and the backend is bone dry and almost salty." (10/2009)

2013 Bevan "Ontogeny" Oakville Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2013 Bevan "Ontogeny" Oakville Bordeaux Blend (95RP, 93VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2013 Ontogeny Proprietary Red is a blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Petit Verdot, and 10% Cabernet Franc, coming from some of Russell Bevan’s favorite vineyard sources – Sugarloaf Mountain, Two Dogs, Tin Box and Tench. Quite flavorful, it is exhibiting slightly more new oak than some of the other cuvées, but is still sexy and opulent, with voluptuous texture, low acidity, and oodles of juicy, succulent black and red fruits, licorice, underbrush and a touch of vanillin. An already irresistible beauty, it can be drunk over the next 20 years. (RP)" (10/2015)

2005 Pontet-Canet, Pauillac
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2005 Pontet-Canet, Pauillac (97RP, 96WS, 95ST, 94WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Possibly the youngest wine of all the 2005 Médocs in terms of its evolution, at age 10 the inky purple 2005 Pontet-Canet tastes more like a two-year-old wine. Loads of pure blueberry, blackberry and cassis fruit are present along with a hint of licorice and background oak. It is full-bodied, ripe, and excruciatingly fresh, vigorous and exuberant. This is a tour de force, and a sensational effort that rivals the first growths. Give it another 5-10 years of cellaring, and drink it over the following 30-40 years. 97+ points." (06/2015)

2011 Mollydooker "Velvet Glove" Shiraz McLaren Vale South Australia
Bid on this bottle of 2011 Mollydooker "Velvet Glove" Shiraz McLaren Vale South Australia (97RP, 96WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Very deep purple-black in color, the 2011 Velvet Glove is chock full of ripe and spicy blackberries, fresh blueberries and creme de cassis aromas that are accented by Chinese five spice notes and hints of chocolate, vanilla and some tar. Full-bodied, it is ripe and rich with a nice line of acid and medium-firm, fine-grained tannins. Concentrated and persistent on the finish, it shows beautiful elegance and freshness and is a nicely delineated and expressive example of the varietal and its regional home. However, it needs another year or more in bottle. Drink it from 2015 to 2025+. (LPB)" (02/2013)

Sexy aromas of black raspberry, cinnamon, minerals and potpourri. Precise and vibrant, with nervy cut to its intense, lithe flavors of red berries and spicecake. 2015 Peter Michael "Point Rouge" Knights Valley Chardonnay
Bid on this bottle of 2015 Peter Michael "Point Rouge" Knights Valley Chardonnay ((99-100RP)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2015 Chardonnay Point Rouge is a wine of incredible intensity with notes of apple butter, white flowers, crushed rocks and wet stones intermixed with peach, marmalade, citrus oil and brioche. Incredibly rich, dense and displaying potentially one of the longest aftertastes I’ve ever experienced with a Chardonnay, this wine should be close to perfect when released in a year or so. Both the 2015 and 2014 are 10- to 15-year wines, but extremely difficult to find in the marketplace. As I have mentioned in the past, readers should note the slight greenish hue to all of the Peter Michael Chardonnays, which seems to be a healthy sign of high-quality fruit and the chlorophyll from the vines. 1984 Opus One Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1984 Opus One Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend. A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc and Malbec, this is an age-worthy gem for any serious collector's cellar. Launched in 1984 with the dual release of the 1979 and 1980 vintages, this joint venture between Robert Mondavi and the Baron Philippe de Rothschild of Bordeaux's Mouton Rothschild, has been the standard-bearer in American ultra-premium wine for more than 20 years. The wine comes from three meticulously managed vineyards in Napa Valley where the grapes are hand-sorted and moved gently, by gravity, from the destemmer to stainless steel fermenting tanks. And since there is only one Opus One, each fermentation tank is dedicated to a single lot, allowing the wine to develop at its own pace, drawing color and extracting beautiful flavor.

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Grenache Upside Down emerges from the glass with layers of dark red fruit as it sweeps across the palate. There is an inner sweetness and sheer depth that make the 2009 compelling. The 11% Syrah and 5% Mourvedre make themselves heard clearly in adding layers of depth and pure richness. Tar, anise and graphite meld together on the rich, dramatic finish. This is a striking wine endowed with tons of pure textural dimension. Sappy aromas of black and red fruits complemented by a warm loamy element (this is actually Thomas Brown's coldest site after Summa but it benefits from afternoon sun). Juicy and quite complex; less obviously rich in the early going than the Summa but shows terrific cut and structure to its flavors of cranberry, strawberry and citrus peel. 2014 Maybach Family "Materium" Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2014 Maybach Family "Materium" Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon (100RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The flagship, the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Materium, represents 560 cases and achieved 14.8% alcohol after aging in 90% new Taransaud and Darnajou casks. Remarkably, the wine matches the perfect 2013, with extraordinary fragrance of blueberry, blackberry, forest floor, truffle, spring flowers and background barbecue smoke followed by a thick, unctuously textured, juicy, but incredibly well-balanced, intense wine. This is built like a skyscraper with enormous quantities of blueberry, blackberry and cassis fruit, well-integrated acidity and sweet, gentle tannins. Medium to full-bodied, with flawless integration of tannin and acidity, this is a terrific example of top-flight viticulture and winemaking. It’s no wimpy wine at 14.8% natural alcohol. The tannins are soft enough to give the wine accessability now, but it should continue to age nicely for 20+ years. (RP)" (12/2015)

This is one of the great vintages of the 90s, and Spottswoode hit the bull’s-eye with this opaque, ruby/purple-colored wine that still has incredible youthfulness and vibrancy. Fabulous fruit intensity, blackcurrants, black cherries and blackberry, along with charcoal, chocolate and graphite, are all present in this superb, full-bodied, stunningly multidimensional wine that is only now approaching mid-adolescence at age 22. The backward 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve exhibits a saturated purple color, and a big, sweet nose of blackberries, black currants, earth, and smoky oak. Impressively endowed, well structured, with high but well-integrated tannin, decent acidity, and a long finish, it requires 2-3 years of bottle-age. It should evolve for 15-20 years. This beautiful winery, located in Spring Mountain in the Mayacamas Range, seems to be making the best wine of its 25-year history, and much of the credit must go to the tireless efforts of Michael Keenan who has done so much to resurrect the fortunes of this winery. 2010 Futo Oakville Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this bottle of 2010 Futo Oakville Bordeaux Blend (98VN, 97RP, 94ST, 93WS). Vinous: "The flagship 2010 Futo is rich, deep and implosive. Layers of dark red fruit, mocha, licorice, spices and leather all flesh out in a dark, brooding wine loaded with class and personality. Graphite, cloves and violets appear later, adding complexity, but the 2010 is mostly a wine of structure and pure power. The finish alone is eternal. What a stunning wine the 2010 has turned out to be. The blend is 67% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Cabernet Franc and 10% Petit Verdot. (AG)" (11/2013)

2012 Macdonald Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2012 Macdonald Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon (95VN). Vinous: "The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon is rich, racy and explosive to the core. An exotic tapestry of plums, sweet black cherries, smoke, bittersweet chocolate, licorice and dark spices race across the palate. Ample and intense, the 2012 has more than enough depth to fill its broad-shouldered frame. The 2012 is the most open-knit vintage made here so far. I imagine it will provide several decades of fine drinking. In keeping with the style of the vintage, the 2012 is quite generous and resonant, with a demi-glace like sense of silkiness and unctuosity. This is the first vintage that incorporates the younger 20 year-old vines. Next to some of the other vintages made so far, the 2012 is a bit monochromatic, but it is striking for its sheer opulence. Just 143 cases were made." (10/2015)

2010 MacDonald Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2010 MacDonald Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon (97VN). Vinous: "I can't help myself. Even though all of the wines in this tasting are well-established benchmarks for excellence, our primary mission with events and tastings is education, so I throw in one mystery wine that is tasted blind. MacDonald's 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon, from the famed to-Kalon vineyard in Oakville, turns out to be one of the wines of the night. Explosive and exuberant to the core, the 2010 hits the palate with waves of blue/purplish fruit, dark spices and French oak. The 2010 is of course far too young to deliver maximum pleasure, but it is simply stunning tonight. Most importantly, in this vintage, the first commercial release, brothers Alex and Graeme MacDonald made a wine that has no problem sitting alongside Napa Valley's long established stars. This is a fabulous showing. (AG)" (06/2015)

2011 Paul Lato "Seabiscuit - Zotovich Vineyard" Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2011 Paul Lato "Seabiscuit - Zotovich Vineyard" Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir (95RP, 90VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "From a north-facing slope, the 2011 Pinot Noir Seabiscuit Zotovich Vineyard has a deep, Burgundian profile of forest floor, ripe red and black fruits, crushed stone, rose petal and spring flowers that flows to a rich, layered and ethereally textured wine that’s perfectly balanced, has building richness and ripe tannin on the finish. Superb, it should continue to drink beautifully through 2023. Drink 2015-2023. Paul Lato continues to knock it out of the park and I can’t say enough about the quality coming from this estate. Across the board, the wines show classic, varietally correct profiles that always show finesse and elegance, yet back it up with layers of fruit and texture. (JD)" (08/2013)

1982 Grand-Puy-Lacoste, Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 1982 Grand-Puy-Lacoste, Pauillac (96RP, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This is a tour de force, and one of the all-time great Grand-Puy-Lacostes ever produced, as I hope the 2000 and 2005 will become. This is an inky/purple, beefy, broad, super-rich Pauillac revealing classic creme de cassis notes intermixed with hints of spring flowers and crushed rocks. Full-bodied with sweet tannin, shocking concentration, and layers of fruit, this irresistible 1982 is still an adolescent in terms of its evolution. Anticipated maturity: now-2035. (RP)" (06/2009)

Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 2013 DuMol "Clare-Hyde Vineyard" Carneros Chardonnay (95CG, 95RP, 93VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2013 Chardonnay Clare comes 100% from the Hyde Vineyard and represents a 22-year-old Wente clone of Chardonnay. This wine displays more buttery brioche notes, hints of tangerine oil and lemon blossom, a subtle, discreet use of oak, loamy soil undertones, and a full-bodied, almost premier cru Meursault-like white Burgundy personality. Complex, rich and multi-layered, this is a beauty to drink over the next decade. (RP)" (03/2016)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Even better, the 2010 Chateauneuf du Pape Les Quartz offers additional depth and richness, with ample dark fruits, blackberry, crushed rock and edgy minerality giving way to a full-bodied, big, powerful wine that won’t hit prime-time for another 3-4 years. 2006 Domaine Dominique Mugneret Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru "Chaumes"
Bid on this bottle of 2006 Domaine Dominique Mugneret Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru "Chaumes". Allen Meadows writes: "As to the 2006 vintage, Mugneret told me that he began picking on 'September 23rd and it was necessary to do a severe sorting as there were a lot of under ripe berries and in a few cases, hail damaged fruit as well. Quantities were about the same as in 2005, which is to say not a lot with sugars that ranged from 12.5 to 13%. The phenolic ripeness was good if not perfect and I did a slightly softer vinification with a 15 to 18 day total cuvaison. The '06s are pretty and actually more terroir-driven than the '05s though it's hard to argue that they're better.' Mugneret had told me previously that he has reduced the toast levels on new barrels and that change has been a good one as the wood influence is more integrated and less intrusive, which with some of Mugneret's prior vintages, it could get in the way."

Bid on this bottle of 2007 Domaine du Clos du Caillou "Reserve les Clos du Caillou" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (98RP, 95ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The largest scaled and most concentrated in the lineup is easily the 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape La Reserve, which is 70% Grenache and 30% Mourvèdre that was raised all in demi-muids. Just a flat out sensational bottle of wine, it offers tons of black currants, licorice, roasted meats and toasted spice aromas and flavors in a full-bodied, seamless, perfectly balanced style that’s drunk well since release. It’s great today, but has another decade or more of longevity. (JD)" (02/2017)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1985 Beringer "Private Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (92ST, 90RP). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Medium red with some amber at the rim. Sexy aromas of redcurrant, raspberry, truffle, underbrush and flint. Sweet and a bit wild, showing terrific retention of candied raspberry and plum fruit. This concentrated wine is a step up in texture and depth of fruit from the earlier vintages. Strong but integrated acidity gives it definition and lift, with the long finish showing broad, tongue-dusting tannins. (ST)" (07/2015)

2006 Domaine Mugneret-Gibourg Vosne-Romanée
Bid on this bottle of 2006 Domaine Mugneret-Gibourg Vosne-Romanée (91JG). John Gilman: "No wine has moved up in quality more in the last several years chez Mugneret than the Vosne AC, which is now clearly the finest village wine made in the commune and amongst the best village wines in the entire Côte d’Or. The nose on the 2006 is beautiful, as it offers up notes of red and black plums, black raspberry, cocoa, blood orange, lovely minerality, vanilla and a topnote of woodsmoke. On the palate the wine is fullish, long and tangy, with lovely intensity of flavor, impressive complexity, ripe tannins and bouncy acidity on the long, classy finish. I buy a case of this wine every vintage, as I find it one of the best values to be had in all of Burgundy. (Drink between 2012-2030)" (11/2007)

2005 Domaine Marius Delarche Corton-Renardes Grand Cru Reserve Vieilles Vignes
Bid on this bottle of 2005 Domaine Marius Delarche Corton-Renardes Grand Cru Reserve Vieilles Vignes. About the domain: "Burgundy from Domaine Marius Delarche stands as an example of what great wine can and should be: both memorable and affordable. We first came across the family’s tiny cellars in Pernand-Vergelesses in the early 1990s, and honestly couldn’t believe what we saw, or tasted. Hidden away in this peaceful valley in the shadow of the noble hill of Corton was certainly the Côte de Beaune’s best-kept secret—gorgeous wines made by an honest winemaker for prices that reminded of decades past." (From the importer) The 50-year old vines of the Corton-Renardes were planted near the summit of the noble hill of Corton. Look for a brooding and layered character, with notes of licorice and peppery spice.

Philippe and Etienne Delarche run a family estate of 9 hectares in the villages of Pernand-Vergelesses and Aloxe-Corton. The harvest is hand-picked and the wines made in the traditional manner. The grapes are pressed and the must left to settle. Fermentation takes place in small vats at a temperature not exceeding 20°C for the Pernands while the Corton-Charlemagnes go straight into barrels. All the wines spend a minimum of 12 months in barrels. They have subtle aromas and are well-balanced with spicy, mineral flavours. Young Etienne Delarche has been making ever more elegant wines since he took over the reins here.
