2004 Philip Togni Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2004 Philip Togni Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (95RP, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon, a blend of 82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot and the rest Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, comes from steep mountain vineyards at the top of the Napa side of Spring Mountain. Aromas of black olives, tapenade, creme de cassis, licorice and truffles emerge from this opaque ruby/purple-colored, youthful 2004. Togni’s spiritual reference point is Bordeaux more than Napa Valley, and his wines seem to represent a hypothetical melange of those two distinctive schools of wine. Still backward, but rich, full-bodied and promising, this brilliant 2004 is 5-7 years away from its adolescence; it should age for 30-40 years. (RP)" (04/2014)

2001 Heitz Cellar "Martha's Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2001 Heitz Cellar "Martha's Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (95RP, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This was a spectacular performance from this hallowed vineyard as well as one of Napa Valley’s great historic terroirs. Made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, it reveals a still youthful personality and will benefit from another 5-7 years of bottle age. An opaque purple color is followed by aromas of graphite, creme de cassis, flowers and background earth as well as spice. The old eucalyptus-filled aromatics of a young Martha’s Vineyard are nowhere to be found as the 2001 is dominated by fruit and earth. Full-bodied and powerful with superb integration of wood, tannin, acidity and alcohol, this large-scaled red is capable of three or more decades of cellaring. It is unquestionably a youthful classic, but it requires patience from its owners. Anticipated maturity: 2016-2035." (06/2011)

Of the 2007 Rochioli "River Block" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir,Wine Enthusiast writes: "Always one of Williams Selyem’s top Pinot Noirs, the 2007 is a spectacular wine. The vines are the closest to the river in the famed Rochioli vineyard, and the resulting wine always has an elegant structure and fruity accessibility that make it drinkable at a younger age. Showing rich flavors of cherries, red currants, cola, bacon, anise, Asian spices and smoky oak, it will develop beautifully over the next decade." (02/2010)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2007 Araujo "Eisele" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (98JS, 98WE, 95ST, 93RP). Wine Enthusiast: "Profoundly beautiful aroma on this Cab, a perfect union of oaky char and vanilla with ripe blackberries and cassis. Hard to exaggerate the beauty. Powerful, yet never pushy, with classic Napa balance. Rich, sweet, almost meaty, with massive tannins that are refined and smooth. Very great density and weight. Really defines the vineyard, and should age effortlessly for 20 years" (06/2011)

2005 Pax "Obsidian" Knight's Valley Syrah
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2005 Pax "Obsidian" Knight's Valley Syrah (96RP, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2005 Syrah Obsidian Vineyard is from Knight’s Valley. This is steep hillside vineyard stuff with a dense, dark purple color, a phenomenally rich nose of brioche, acacia flowers, blackberry, and blueberry jam intermixed with some white chocolate and perhaps hints of fig and truffle. The wine is spicy, full-bodied, incredibly opulent, and thick, even unctuously textured, with great purity and richness. Moreover, the glycerin and viscosity cover up some huge tannins. This is an amazingly big, thick wine, but it still cascades over the palate like a waterfall. This wine should come into its own in several years and drink well for 10-15. (RP)" (12/2007)

Intense, floral-accented scents of orange zest, pit fruit and candied ginger. Powerful and broad but surprisingly energetic, offering sappy, palate-staining citrus marmalade and peach flavors lifted by tangy acidity. A suave honey note comes up with air and carries through the long, spicy finish." (11/2011)

2010 Caymus "Special Selection" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 Caymus "Special Selection" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (98RP, 96WS, 93AG, 92W&S). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Special Selection exhibits an opaque purple color, slightly more toasty oak in the aromatics, and explosive richness on the attack, mid-palate and length. The nose is slightly more restrained than in the regular bottling, but there is no doubting the Special Selection is a cut or two above the Napa bottling when it hits the palate. Extraordinary purity of fruit, creme de cassis, licorice and incense all emerge from this full-bodied, iconic classic. It can be enjoyed now and over the next 25+ years. (RP)" (10/2013)

Wine Enthusiast: " *Cellar Selection* A purely delicious fruit personality makes this single-vineyard Pinot stand out from the crowd of oak bombs. It has an unusually deep, dark color for a Pinot Noir and it stays a rich red on the rim. It’s medium to full-bodied but not at all heavy. A vein of tannin and berrylike acidity lifts the rich, ripe plum and black cherry flavors on the palate and through the finish." (10/2014)

This seamless, full-bodied wine is more velvety-textured, opulent, and succulent than past vintages. The mid-palate is expansive and chewy. 2010 Abreu "Rothwell Hyde" St. Helena Proprietary Red
Bid on this bottle of 2010 Abreu "Rothwell Hyde" St. Helena Proprietary Red (94AG). Antonio Galloni: "Perhaps the greatest compliment I can pay the 2010 Rothwell Hyde, Abreu's rarely seen second wine, is that Brad Grimes served it last in our tasting and it more than held it's own. Sure, there is plenty of vintage 2010 pedigree, along with the typical Abreu textural richness, but it is the wine's overall balance that leaves the most lasting impression. Rothwell Hyde is made from a selection of the wines that don't go into the four main labels and is sold mostly through the mailing list and in a few select restaurants. If you see the 2010, grab it. It is an extraordinarily promising 2007 with awesome fruit, depth and richness as well as a long finish. This offering will be even better with 5-7 years of bottle age, and should keep for 20+ years. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Cain Cellars has been making increasingly fine wines since 1987 and the 1990 and 1991 offerings would be worthy additions to any Cabernet enthusiast's cellar. The 1991 gets my nod as being slightly better than the 1990. Fleshier and more deeply extracted, as well as possessing a superb sense of balance, it offers an attractive herbal, cassis, and chocolatey nose, sweet, curranty, expansive flavors, decent acidity, and a long, fleshy, spicy finish. Bid on this bottle of 2006 Colgin "Cariad" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (98RP, 96JS, 94WS, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Meriting the same rating I gave it at its release, the 2006 Cariad is composed of 57% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 11% Cabernet Franc and 7% Petit Verdot. One of the stars of the vintage, this thrilling, opaque purple-colored wine offers up sweet espresso, jus de viande, blackberry, blueberry, flower and chocolate aromas. A fabulous texture, tremendous purity, sensational brightness and authoritative flavor intensity allied to striking complexity and elegance are the signature of this creative blend from the David Abreu vineyards of Thorevilos and Madrona Ranch. 2007 Herb Lamb "HL" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2007 Herb Lamb "HL" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. From Herb Lamb Vineyard, source of Colgin's famous Cabernet, and winemaker Michael Trujillo. The winemaker's vintage notes: "The 2007 HL is so beautifully balanced – it has a solid core of dense fruit, but is more classic than pretty – more like the great 1997 (plush) and 1999 (firm & rich) wines. It has sweet, fruity tones, emphasized by dense black fruits. It is both fruity and chocolaty – like a black cherry pie with a rich, dark Baker’s Chocolate bar. It is already showing the velvety, textured tannins and full mouth feel of a well-balanced wine with room to age. In the mouth, the 2007 HL Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon is pretty and plush while at the same time rich and dense - all that the ’05 was and more..."

Offering incredible notes of pepper, bacon fat, steak tartare, olive paste and deep, savory dark fruit, this full-bodied barrel sample has fabulous concentration, beautiful purity and a blockbuster finish. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: " From the Howell Mountain Arc Vineyard (usually 1,300 to 1,400 cases produced in a normal year), the 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Arc Vineyard could be a candidate for perfection when it hits full maturity in 7-8 years. However, I wouldn’t hesitate to drink it now given the sweetness of the tannin and the abundance of the ripe, concentrated, delicious fruit. The nose exhibits classic aromas of mulberries, graphite, licorice, forest floor, black currants and blackberries. This is a broad, full throttle, multilevel, sensational wine. 98+ (RP" (10/2013)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The prodigious 2007 Materium exhibits an even more opaque purple color, and ratchets up the level of intensity and aromatic complexity. Blackberry, black raspberry, blueberry, and cassis aromas intermixed with notes of crushed rocks, spring flowers, and toasty new oak are found in this beauty. Outstanding intensity along with full-bodied power and beautifully integrated acids, tannins, alcohol, and wood suggest this 2007 should hit its peak in 5-7 years, and evolve for three decades or more." 2007 Marcassin "Marcassin Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay
Bid on this bottle of 2007 Marcassin "Marcassin Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay (99RP, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A staggering Chardonnay that’s still an infant, the light yellow/green/gold 2007 offers up notes of unbuttered popcorn, orange liqueur, lemon butter, quince and crushed rocks. It possesses terrific underlying acidity, a full-bodied mouthfeel and a youthfulness and freshness that suggest this wine has two decades of life ahead of it. This majestic Chardonnay seems more French than Californian, but again, this reflects the significance of the labor of these two overachieving, push-the-envelope visionaries. What California viticulture and high-class, minimalist winemaking can achieve is exhibited in bold fashion by this 2007. It will hit its prime in 5-7 years, and appears to be a replay of the 2002 stylistically as well as for its overall potential. 99+ points. (RP)" (06/2012)

Etain literally bursts from the glass with vivid, beautifully articulated fruit. Black cherries, raspberry jam, plums, espresso, menthol and rosemary are just some of the many nuances that take shape in the glass. 2005 Stag's Leap Wine Cellars "Cask 23" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2005 Stag's Leap Wine Cellars "Cask 23" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (90CG). Connoisseurs Guide: "Almost sure to raise controversy with its involving aromas of leather, roasted coffee, scorched chocolate and herbs, this unique offering smacks ever so faintly of Syrah and may not fit the fruity Cabernet model, but its complexity is beyond any argument. It is smooth and supple in feel with plenty of palatal weight and a fine sense of polish, and its neatly fit spine of firm structural tannins is precisely the stuff of fine Cabernet. A few years of age should make a good thing better, and it has room enough for ten years of growth." (04/2009)

2008 Brewer-Clifton "Sweeney Canyon" Sta. Rita Hills Chardonnay
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2008 Brewer-Clifton "Sweeney Canyon" Sta. Rita Hills Chardonnay (97RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2008 continues the trend of rating all the older Sweeney Canyon Chardonnays higher than I did early in their lives. That’s an indication of great winemaking from a spectacular site. The age old argument of whether a Chardonnay improves in the bottle is answered positively by how the wines in this vertical have performed. The 2008 Chardonnay displays a French style with lots of white corn, white peach, honeysuckle, wet rock and spice characteristics. Tropical fruit notes appear on the palate, and there is enough acidity to support and delineate the wine’s superb richness. The alcohol came in at 15.3%, relatively modest by Brewer-Clifton standards. The 2008 should drink well for at least 8-10 more years. (RP)" (11/2013)

2007 Pahlmeyer Cabernet Sauvignon Piece de Resistance
Bid on this bottle of 2007 Pahlmeyer Cabernet Sauvignon Piece de Resistance. This wine is allocated exclusively to Preferred Members. "The inky purple hue of the 2007 Pièce de Résistance focuses your attention on its beauty, while the nose and palate send the rest of your senses into blissful overdrive. With aromas of cassis, pain grille and blueberry crème pie with toasted graham cracker crust, the nose explodes out of the glass. On the palate, fruit tart and preserve notes intermingle with milk chocolate, cinnamon and brown sugar accents. Once a sip has been savored, the wine rewards you with the slowly lilting vanilla, blackberry and caramel finish. This gorgeously structured wine will cellar for more than 20 years." – Erin Green, Winemaker September 2009

2007 Peter Michael "Les Pavots" Knights Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this bottle of 2007 Peter Michael "Les Pavots" Knights Valley Bordeaux Blend (97RP, 95WS, 93JS, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Les Pavots, a Bordeaux varietal blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% Cabernet Franc, 10% Merlot, and 3% Petit Verdot, is brilliant. Its opaque purple color is accompanied by gorgeously complex aromas of melted chocolate, espresso roast, blackberries, and cassis. Full-bodied with a superb texture, a subtle note of oak, and fabulous concentration, it is more reminiscent of a Right Bank Bordeaux than one expects with this much Cabernet Sauvignon in the blend. A thirty-year wine, its impeccable balance and the sweetness of its tannins make it accessible already. (RP)" (02/2010)

Bid on this 1.5 liter 1-bottle lot of 2012 Schrader "Old Sparky" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (OWC - 100RP) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Another compelling, perfect wine is the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer to Kalon Vineyard Old Sparky. This is Clone 4 and Clone 6, as well as Clone 337, blended together from the Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard, aged in 100% new Darnajou barrels. For whatever reason, this wine seems to show more chocolate, espresso roast, barbecue smoke, dense blackberry and blueberry fruit and enormous body with not a touch of heaviness or astringency. This is a fabulous offering. It should drink well for 20-25 years. (RP)" (10/2014)

2008 Alban "Reva" Edna Valley Syrah
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2008 Alban "Reva" Edna Valley Syrah ((95-96JS), 96RP, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2008 Reva (Syrah) is stunningly beautiful. This is a relatively delicate, feminine Reva that impresses for its length, balance and utter purity of fruit. Dark red cherries, flowers, mint and silky, saline notes wrap around the expressive fruit on the long, polished finish. A hint of truffles adds to the wine’s sensual, totally beguiling personality. In 2008, the Reva is drop-dead gorgeous. Readers should note that, in this vintage, there is no Lorraine or Seymour’s, so the 2008 is a 'super-Reva!' Anticipated maturity: 2013-2020. 96+ points. Antonio Galloni: "The 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon Insignia is a towering, statuesque wine bursting with blackberry jam, tar, spices, leather and licorice. It shows fabulous depth and richness backed up by serious, imposing tannins that suggest it has a long life. Ideally, the 2008 should be purchased by those who can be patient; it is not a wine for those seeking immediate gratification. The blend is 89% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Petit Verdot and 4% Malbec. 2008 Quilceda Creek "Palengat Vineyard" Horse Heaven Hills Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2008 Quilceda Creek "Palengat Vineyard" Horse Heaven Hills Cabernet Sauvignon (97RP, 94ST, 93WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2008 Palengat Proprietary Red Wine is made up of 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Cabernet Franc, with the balance Merlot and Petit Verdot. The fruit was sourced entirely from the Palengat Vineyard. Pain grille, pencil lead, Asian spices, incense, violets, dried herbs, black currant, and blackberry aromas compose the bouquet of this impeccably balanced offering. It opens in the glass to reveal plush, succulent flavors, superb concentration, plenty of ripe tannin, and at least 4-5 years of aging potential. It will deliver optimum drinking from 2015 to 2028. 1994 Dominus Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1994 Dominus Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (99RP, 97ST, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1994 is a strikingly thick, compellingly rich wine with the texture of a great Pomerol, despite being made primarily from Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine exhibits a dense purple color, and an incredibly fragrant nose of jammy black fruits, spice, smoke, and loamy, truffle-like scents. In the mouth, it is full-bodied, with thrilling levels of extract and richness, but no sense of heaviness or harshness. This seamless Dominus possesses no hard edges, as its acidity, tannin, and alcohol are beautifully meshed with copious quantities of ripe fruit. This wine offers early drinking, yet has the potential to last for 30+ years. (RP)" (12/1997)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2005 Harlan Estate Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (OWC - 97RP, 96JS, 96ST, 95WE, 94WS) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Not unexpectedly, the 2005 Harlan Estate performed slightly better than it did last year. As these wines often do, it continues to put on weight as it is bottled very late by Napa standards, and there is no fining or filtration. The 2005 exhibits a gorgeous thick-looking, ruby/purple color in addition to a beautiful nose of burning embers interwoven with creme de cassis, roasted meats, sweet black truffles, and spring flowers. A hint of lead pencil shavings also emerges from this cuvee, which seems to want to be both a Pauillac and a ripe vintage of La Mission Haut Brion. Full-bodied, dense, pure, and revealing sweeter tannin than I remember, it can be drunk now, but it will no doubt display even greater complexity in 10, 20, and 30 years. (RP)" (12/2008)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2002 Justin "Isosceles" Reserve Paso Robles Red Blend (OWC - 95RP, 91WS) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I realize this is not a North Coast offering, but it’s such a sensational, impeccably high quality cuvee it merited inclusion in this report. One of the finest Bordeaux blends (76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Cabernet Franc, 7% Merlot, 2% Petit Verdot and 1% Malbec) I have ever tasted from Paso Robles, it offers glorious aromas of camphor, creme de cassis, smoke, and subtle oak. Voluptuously rich and full-bodied with beautiful purity as well as a sense of elegance, definition, and harmony, this gorgeously proportioned, rich proprietary red should drink well for a decade or more. Kudos to the folks at Justin for a brilliant achievement." (12/2005)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 1999 Shafer "Hillside Select" Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon (OWC - 97RP, 94CG, 94ST, 94WS, 93W&S) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1999 Cabernet Sauvignon Hillside Select is one of the finest wines of the vintage. The 14.9% alcohol is barely noticeable given the amazing concentration and intensity. A saturated opaque purple color is followed by scents of vanilla, blackberry liqueur, crushed minerals, and a hint of white flowers. There is stunning intensity, tremendous purity, full body, and a remarkable, seamless finish (amazing given the elevated, austere tannin). Give the 1999 another 2-3 years of cellaring, and enjoy it over the following two decades or longer. A brilliant effort! (RP)" (12/2003)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Kistler "Cuvée Elizabeth - Bodega Headlands" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (95RP, 95ST, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Pinot Noir Bodega Headlands Cuvee Elizabeth comes across as a bit firmer and less expressive than the Cuvee Catherine. There is a salty, saline quality that runs through the fruit in this powerful, structured wine. Waves of fruit crescendo on the explosive finish. This is a dazzling Pinot Noir, but it will require at least another year or two in bottle to reveal its pedigree. I loved it. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2021. (AG)" (02/2012)

Spicy, peppery, Victoria plums, strawberry, still lots of fruit. So fragrant and so fruity for a rosé that is four years old. Full flavoured and silky and powerful. 1984 Ridge Vineyards "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 1984 Ridge Vineyards "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon (95RP, 93ST, 91JS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This blockbuster Cabernet Sauvignon remains closed, with more promise than current appeal. The saturated purple color displays no amber or signs of evolution at the edge. The nose reluctantly offers up pure aromas of black fruits, minerals, and licorice. Extremely full-bodied, with layers of rich, glycerin-dominated, sweet, jammy fruit buttressed by zesty acidity and abundant tannin, this large-scaled, surprisingly well-proportioned and balanced Cabernet Sauvignon requires another 5-8 years of cellaring. It is a candidate for 20-30+ years of longevity. So what's new?" (08/1994)

Of the 2010 Rhys "Bearwallow Vineyard" Anderson Valley Pinot Noir,Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar writes: "Bright violet color. Sexy, highly perfumed scents of musky red and dark berries, incense and Asian spices, with a bright mineral topnote. Fresh, impressively concentrated raspberry and blackberry flavors are firmed by silky tannins and brightened by zesty minerality and a hint of blood orange.
