2005 Spottswoode Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2005 Spottswoode Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc (91RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of Napa’s best Sauvignon Blancs consistently emerges form the Spottswoode estate. Always elegant but with authoritative flavors, the 2005 is dry and shows hints of figs, honey, melon-like fruit, and citrus blossom. Lively acidity, a medium-bodied texture, and good concentration result in one of the more beautiful Sauvignon Blancs of the region. (RP)" (12/2006)

Bid on this bottle of 2001 Marcassin "Marcassin Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (97WS, 94ST, 90RP). Wine Spectator: "Incredible richness, density and concentration, with a tight backbone. The core black cherry, wild berry and raspberry are ripe and effusive, with hints of rose petal and cranberry, and touches of hazelnut and nutmeg. The finish sails on, returning to the rich flavor themes that are woven together in a tight yet seamless and persistent manner. " (02/2006)

2014 Cayuse "Camaspelo" Walla Walla Valley Bordeaux Blend (OCB)
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2014 Cayuse "Camaspelo" Walla Walla Valley Bordeaux Blend ((95-97RP)) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Made from 79% Cabernet Sauvignon and 21% Merlot that’s aging in 30% new French oak puncheons, the 2014 Camaspelo offers lots of cherry pit, black and blue fruits, violets and spice characteristics in a full-bodied, silky, polished style. It shows a touch of graphite with time in the glass, has building tannin and will keep for two decades. Looking at these latest releases from Cayuse, the 2013s are surprisingly elegant and silky, with less overall concentration and depth than I expected after tasting them from barrel last year. They possess slightly lighter, translucent colors, moderate to good concentration and polished tannin. At times I was wishing for a touch more exuberance and texture. Nevertheless, these are silky, seamless, elegant wines that will be fun to follow over the coming decade or more. The 2014s also lean towards the more

1977 Clos du Val Reserve Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L)
Bid on this 1.5 liter 1-bottle lot of 1977 Clos du Val Reserve Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L). After a two-year mission commissioned by American businessman John Goelet to find a new site with potential for making world-class wines, French-born winemaker Bernard Portet chose what would eventually be called the Stags Leap District of Napa Valley for its cool evenings and terrain. The 150-acre parcel that Goelet purchases became Clos du Val, a "small estate of a small valley." Producing classically styled wines of balance, elegance and complexity has been the winery's goal ever since. This 1977 is a part of California's winemaking history. Clos du Val's wines have been known to age exceptionally well.

Bid on this 1.5 liter 1-bottle lot of 2007 Drinkward Peschon "Entre Deux Mères" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (91JS). James Suckling: "This smells very Bordeaux with cassis bush, fresh herbs, and hints of oak with some earthiness too. Full bodied, with round and velvety tannins and a fruity finish. A little hollow in the mid-palate and jammy but I like it. Pull the cork after 2012." (02/2011)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon (96% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Petit Verdot) has also beefed up a bit. Opaque ruby/purple, with notes of espresso roast, white chocolate, licorice and unsmoked tobacco as well as a restrained hint of barbecued smoke, the wine is layered, rich, full-bodied, and impressively endowed. It should evolve for at least 15 or 20 years. 96+ (RP)" (12/2010)

Bid on this 375 ml 1-bottle lot of 2007 Far Niente "Dolce" Napa Valley Dessert Wine (375ml) (96WE). Wine Enthusiast: "Another spectacular Dolce, which continues the brand's string of successes and further emphasizes its standing as one of California's greatest- white dessert wines. It lacks a touch of the concentration found in the 2006, but it dazzles nonetheless with intricate, sweet flavors of honey, butterscotch, golden-apricot nectar, orange marmalade, pineapple tart, vanilla and buttered toast. And all that is brightened by crisp acidity. Terrific to drink now, and it will hold in a proper cellar for a decade. The blend is 82% Sémillon and 18% Sauvignon Blanc. " (03/2013)

2013 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2013 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (99RP, 94WE, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I think the wine of the vintage, the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon from the Columbia Valley is flat out sensational, and flirts with perfection. Its inky ruby/purple color is followed by incredible notes of cassis, black currants, smoked herbs, licorice and graphite. These give way to a full-bodied, utterly seamless Cabernet that has full-bodied richness, ultra-fine tannin and a killer finish. While it possesses the elegance and purity of the vintage, it has a stacked mid-palate, and deserves 4-5 years of cellaring. It will have two decades or more of overall longevity. (JD)" (06/2016)

2005 Leonetti "Reserve" Walla Walla Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this bottle of 2005 Leonetti "Reserve" Walla Walla Valley Bordeaux Blend (97RP, 97WE, 95ST, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2005 Reserve is made up of 63% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Petit Verdot, and 17% Merlot. It was aged in new French barriques and a large oval botti for 22 months. Deep purple-colored, the wine presents aromas of pain grille, pencil lead, scorched earth, black currant, plum, and blackberry liqueur. The wine makes a powerful entry onto the palate with great concentration, serious depth, and opulence. The flavors reveal spicy, savory black fruits with a note of chocolate in the background. Long and complex, this superb Reserve is another tour de force for Leonetti Cellar. Give it 5-7 years in the cellar and drink it from 2015 to 2030. (JM)" (06/2008)

2005 Vérité "La Joie" Sonoma Red
Bid on this bottle of 2005 Vérité "La Joie" Sonoma Red (100RP, 95VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The myth perpetrated by Old World wine proponents is that California wines don’t age. Those critics need to taste Verité, because these wines are aging far slower than I imagined. The 2005 La Joie (67% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Merlot, 12% Cabernet Franc, 7% Petit Verdot and 2% Malbec) tips the scales at 14.7% alcohol. It received the same 18 months in 100% new oak. It is interesting that Pierre Seillan said that he thought the high-elevation vineyards of Sonoma that go into Verité (self-serving, os course) are his greatest sites in the world for Bordeaux varietals. But remember – he’s from Bordeaux! This multidimensional wine, which enjoyed a 4-5 day cool, pre-fermentation maceration, has a provocative bouquet of blackberry, cassis, new saddle leather, Christmas fruitcake, graphite and high-quality unsmoked cigar tobacco. It is profound, extremely full-bodied and massive in the mouth, b

Of the 2002 Arrowood "Reserve Speciale" Sonoma Valley Cabernet Sauvignon,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "Made from the estate’s finest fruit and aged 23 or more months in a combination of French and American oak, it comes from multiple sources in Sonoma, including the Monte Rosso Vineyard (now owned by Gallo). A wine of great stature and richness, it boasts an inky/ruby/purple color along with a stunning bouquet of loamy, dusty soil, lead pencil shavings, creme de cassis, kirsch liqueur, licorice and barrique smells. Tasted beside her regular '01 Napa Cab, it's much deeper, darker and more brooding. It's also far more tannic. It's a big, flavorful wine, packed with plums, blackberries, currants and mocha, as well as a coating of sweet oak. Here it is the wine's sense of energy that stands out most. Vivid, nuanced and structured, the 1999 is a wine to cellar for another 5-10 years at a minimum to allow the flavors to flesh out. 2012 Bedrock Wine Company "Weill Vineyard-Exposition One" Sonoma Valley Syrah
Bid on this bottle of 2012 Bedrock Wine Company "Weill Vineyard-Exposition One" Sonoma Valley Syrah (97RP, 91VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The “2012 Proprietary Red Weill Vineyard Exposition Project Trio” is three incredible wines from Sonoma County. This is Twain-Peterson’s take on the three LaLa wines from the Guigal family in Côte-Rôtie. He is emphasizing distinct clonal terroir and exposition differences as well as vinifying the wines separately. All three of the following wines were aged 36 months in 100% new French oak. The 2012 Proprietary Red Weill Vineyard Exposition 1, from an east-facing steep slope, is 100% Syrah and 100% whole-clusters. The wine flirts with perfection, with beautiful notes of roasted meats, new saddle leather, black olive tapenade, cassis and blackberry soaring from the glass of this dense purple blockbuster. It’s full-bodied, massive and just incredible. I suppose this would be the La Landonne version of what Peterson is trying to produce. (RP)" (1

It possesses that tell-tale Silver Oak, lavishly oaky, Provencal herb, sweet, smoky, jammy black-cherry and cassis-scented nose. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A wine that captures the essence of the vintage, Scarecrow's 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon M. Etain literally bursts from the glass with vivid, beautifully articulated fruit. Black cherries, raspberry jam, plums, espresso, menthol and rosemary are just some of the many nuances that take shape in the glass. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Another compelling wine was the 2012 Rive Droite, which is Blankiet’s homage to Right Bank Pomerols from Bordeaux. A blend of 95.8% Merlot and 4.2% Cabernet Franc, there are 380 cases of this sexpot of a wine. This could easily be mistaken for a Napa Valley version of Petrus. Loads of mulberry fruit, licorice, crème de cassis, mocha and toffee are present in this huge, full-bodied, super-opulent and luscious wine. It does not have the nuances or complexity of the Benchland Select or the sheer joy of the Napa Cabernet Sauvignon, but there is a lot going on in this cuvee. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "For some reason I have a sweet spot for Schrader’s 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon CCS, which, like the 2007, merits a perfect rating. That should set up some very interesting competitive tastings in the future. Made from a particular block of Clone 4 planted in the Beckstoffer To-Kalon Vineyard, there is something just broader, deeper, more multidimensional and more subtle without losing any of the great intensity, purity and richness these wines possess that gives the CCS an amazing character. Keep in mind, as my editor pointed out to me, this is the third straight vintage of this cuvee to merit a perfect score, which must be the first of its kind in 32 years of critiquing wines. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Araujo's Cabernet Sauvignon Eisele Vineyard has become a benchmark. I believe the 1995 is the finest produced under the Araujo regime. It is close to perfection. The wine combines extraordinary power and richness with remarkable complexity and finesse. The saturated purple/black color is followed by aromas of sweet vanillin intermixed with riveting scents of black currants, minerals, exotic spices, coffee, and toast. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 Bond "St. Eden" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (95RP, 95ST, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "From the valley floor, the 2010 St. Eden exhibits copious notes of creme de cassis, loamy, dusty soil undertones, forest floor, toasty oak and plenty of sweet tannin in its full-bodied, massive personality. Again, these wines are not meant for near-term gratification, so 5-6 years of cellaring is warranted. This is another 30-year wine from Bond. (RP)" (10/2013)

2012 O'Shaughnessy Mount Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2012 O'Shaughnessy Mount Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon (96VN). Vinous: "O'Shaughnessy's 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley is an addition to the range, and is essentially a second selection of fruit from the Mt. Veeder and Howell Mountain properties. The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon captures the essence of the year in its sweet, radiant fruit. Freshly cut flowers, spices, mint and sweet red berries. The flavors are bright, focused and delineated, with gorgeous underlying salinity and tension. Sexy, racy and polished, the 2012 is a fabulous Cabernet Sauvignon to drink now and over the next decade or so. There is a lot to like here. This may very well be the best value in top-flight Napa Valley 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon.(AG)" (12/2014)

2013 Realm "The Absurd" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this bottle of 2013 Realm "The Absurd" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (100RP, 96JS, 95VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Another perfect wine (but very limited in production at 200 cases) is the 2013 The Absurd, a blend of 17 components dominated by 83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Merlot and 6% Cabernet Franc. Winemaker Benoit Touquette told me that this wine is produced with no rules and no restrictions, and is considered their super-blend of the best they have in any given vintage. (I guess I would look stupid if I didn't give it 100 points, given the fact that two other Realm wines already hit that maximum score.) There is something different in this wine, with an opaque purple color for sure, but then there's the cassis, the blackberries, the roasted meats, some spicy pepper, and then an extravagantly rich, cascading palate that seems to be built like a skyscraper, but without one hard edge. This is a seriously endowed, super-rich, incredibly well-balanced wine that should drink we

2010 Shafer "Hillside Select" Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2010 Shafer "Hillside Select" Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon (100RP, 98JS, 95VN, 95WE, 95WS, 93CG). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A remarkable wine, the 2010 Shafer Cabernet Sauvignon Hillside Select has gone from strength to strength since it was in cask. It is stunningly rich, with classic, fragrant notes of blackcurrants, blackberries, vanilla, graphite and spring flowers. It exhibits an opaque purple color, with a full-bodied, massive mouthfeel, but no heaviness, and again, a flawless integration of acidity, tannin, alcohol and wood. It’s classic California Cabernet, but beautifully put together, showing impeccable craftsmanship and fabulous potential. This is obviously a very young, infantile style of Cabernet that won’t hit its prime for at least another decade and last close to half a century, based on how older vintages that were less well-endowed have matured from Shafer. 2013 Bevan "Moaveni Vineyard - Ode to M" Bennett Valley Syrah
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2013 Bevan "Moaveni Vineyard - Ode to M" Bennett Valley Syrah (99RP, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2013 Syrah Moaveni Vineyard is 100% Syrah aged in equal parts Gamba and François Frères cooperage. On the back label is a touching quote, 'Ode To M,' the 'M' standing for Manfred Krankl at Sine Qua Non, who has made a full and miraculous recovery from a near-fatal motorcycle crash. Bevan pays homage to him because he loves the wines and the man. This wine flirts with perfection. Blackberry, blueberry, black raspberry, camphor and charcoal notes soar from the glass, and once the wine hits the palate, there’s no doubt we’re into rarefied air. Meaty, lavender-infused barbecue notes are followed by a sumptuously styled, extravagantly rich, incredibly pure, intense expression of Syrah that should drink well for 20 or more years. Don’t dare miss it, but it is one of his more limited cuvées of only 100 cases (or four barrels). (RP)" (03/2016)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2012 Maybach "Materium" Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon (98RP, (93-95ST), 95WS, 94JS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "From the red soils near Dalla Valle in the eastern part of the Oakville Corridor, the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Materium is a killer wine. It possesses a striking, intense, rocky minerality, an opaque purple color, and deep, beautiful aromas of camphor, spring flowers, blueberries and black raspberry fruit. There is a cool climate character (even though this is not a cool climate viticultural area) as well as superb richness, a full-bodied mouthfeel, great delineation and a mindboggling finish that lasts nearly a full minute. 2008 Sine Qua Non "Kolibri" Proprietary White Blend
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2008 Sine Qua Non "Kolibri" Proprietary White Blend (97RP, 93JS, 93VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2008 Kolibri continues the brilliant success Krankl has had with dry whites. As one can see when visiting his cellars, he is now using the fashionable concrete eggs as part of the white wines' upbringing. About 25% new French oak is used, and the balance is older barrels. Most of the fruit is from estate vineyards, with about 18% purchased from the Bien Nacido Vineyard. The final blend is 69% Roussanne and 31% Viognier. As is found in all Krankl's whites, the 2008 Kolibri possesses extraordinary aromatics. Abundant notes of marmalade, honeysuckle, white flowers, and candied citrus are accompanied by good acidity, beautiful intensity and purity, and a layered, fresh, medium to full-bodied mouthfeel. The wine is intense, but never heavy or overbearing. (RP)" (08/2010)

Bid on this 1.5 liter 1-bottle lot of 1995 Bacio Divino Napa Valley Red Blend (1.5L) (OWC - 94RP, 91WS) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The second awesome release from this tiny winery dedicated to producing intriguing wines, the 1995 Bacio Divino (a blend of 66% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Sangiovese, and 12% Petit Sirah) is a formidable wine of exceptional richness, layers of flavor, and a multi-dimensional personality. The color is a deep saturated ruby/purple. The nose offers up juicy/jammy strawberry, black currant, and blackberry notes wrapped with subtle toasty oak. Full-bodied, with outstanding ripeness and purity, a silky texture, and an explosive finish, this is a sumptuous example of what can be done with three grapes rarely blended together in such proportions. By the way, sentimentalists will be moved by the government warning label that reads, "contains sulphites and also some of the winemaker's heart and soul." Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Made by Christophe as a tribute to Cote Rotie and coming from a blend of estate vineyards, the 2012 Syrah Wallah Wallah #4 Special spent 22 months in older puncheons and neutral smaller barrels before being bottled only in Magnum, of which there’s only 2,500 to go around. Hitting 13.6% natural alcohol, its deep ruby, semi-opaque color is followed by fabulous notes of rose petals, incense, violets, leather and sweet raspberry. These flow seamlessly to a full-bodied, supple and elegant Syrah that has no hard edges, integrated acidity and thrilling purity of fruit. A prodigious example of Jonata’s style of Syrah, its black color is accompanied by a striking perfume of honeysuckle, white peaches, blackberry liqueur, charcoal, graphite, and pen ink, soft tannins, full-bodied power, a mutlidimensional personality, and a finish that lasts over a minute.
