1997 Ridge "Lytton Springs" Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1997 Ridge "Lytton Springs" Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel ((92-94ST), 93WE, 92RP). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Ruby-red. Pungent, musky, perfumed nose combines stone and berry fruits, violet and black pepper. Even more exotically ripe in the mouth than the above; dense, generous and full. Sound acids and firm-edged, even tannins give the wine lovely snap. Big and muscular, but racy and firm. This is light years ahead of bottles I've tasted of the '96. (ST)" (05/1999)

2012 Sine Qua Non "In the Abstract" California White Blend
Bid on this bottle of 2012 Sine Qua Non "In the Abstract" California White Blend (97RP, 95JS, 94VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "In the same league, the 2012 In The Abstract is a classic Sine Qua Non white blend of 37% Chardonnay, 31% Roussanne, 16% Petite Manseng and 16% Viognier. Coming from roughly equal parts Bien Nacido, Cumulus and Eleven Confessions vineyard, it spent just under 19 months in 48% used barrels (1-4 years old), 27% new French oak and the balance in concrete eggs. It sports a slightly darker color than the Chardonnay and offers up incredible notes of caramelized peaches, poached apples, white flowers and crushed rock that flow seamlessly to a full-bodied, decadent, yet classy and graceful feel on the palate. It’s a classic effort that doesn’t pull any punches, yet also never seems hot, heavy or puts a foot wrong. Enjoy this beauty over the coming decade or more. (JD)" (08/2014)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2006 Broadley "Marcile Lorraine" Willamette Valley Pinot Noir (90BH, 90ST). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Light, hazy red. Intensely spicy bouquet offers energetic redcurrant, wild strawberry and fresh flowers. Light-bodied red berry flavors are sweetened by vanilla and cola nuances, picking up succulent herbs with air. Tart cherry skin and bitter chocolate linger on the long, tangy finish. I'd bet that this energetic and nicely balanced wine will repay five or so years of cellaring. (JR)" (05/2008)

2009 Tablas Creek "Esprit de Beaucastel Rouge" Paso Robles Rhône Blend
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2009 Tablas Creek "Esprit de Beaucastel Rouge" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (94RP, 93JS, 93ST, 92W&S). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I am thrilled to see the 2009 Esprit de Beaucastel burst from the glass with an exciting melange of dark red cherries, flowers, sweet herbs, mint and spices. Exotic spiced notes linger on the finish. The 2009 boasts serious intensity, richness and depth, but it remains quite tannic and in need of further bottle age. The vintage saw both frost and drought, two conditions that are a little unusual in the same year. Now that it is in bottle, the 2009 meets all of the expectations I had when I tasted it from barrel last year. The blend is 40% Mourvedre, 28% Syrah, 27% Grenache and 5% Counoise. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2024. (AG)" (08/2012)

Pungent, expressive bouquet offers dark berry compote, cola, vanilla bean and incense qualities, along with slow-building spiciness and notes of clove and mocha. Lush, palate-coating blackberry and mulberry flavors are lifted by gentle acidity and complicated by notes of spicecake and candied violet. Tannins build with air and carry through a very long, sweet, oak-spicy finish. This is a baby." (11/2011)

Creme de cassis, blackberry, smoked earth, toasted spice and violets emerge from the glass, and it flows onto the palate with full-bodied richness, beautiful purity of fruit and brilliant length. Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2001 Quilceda Creek Washington Cabernet Sauvignon (97RP, 95ST, 95WE, 94WS, 90W&S). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A smidge more evolved than the 2002, the 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon is made from 97% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Cabernet Franc, mostly from the famed Champoux Vineyard in the Horse Heaven Hills AVA. It offers a rock star bouquet of blackberry liqueur, cassis, dried licorice, spice and roasted meats to go with a full-bodied, concentrated, yet incredibly polished and elegantly textured mouthfeel. Blockbuster stuff that has everything, it is still youthful and vibrant and has another decade or more of longevity, although I see no reason to delay gratification. Drink now-2023. (JD)" (06/2013)

2012 Caymus "40th Anniversary" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2012 Caymus "40th Anniversary" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (96RP, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "They appear to be immune to some of winedom’s less than intelligent trends and fads that we see from time to time, and the result is a spectacular 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon 40th Anniversary offering. Its dense purple/black color is followed by copious quantities of crème de cassis and blackberry fruit, silky tannins, a voluptuous texture and stunning purity as well as length. This full-bodied effort is a fabulous example of Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon as well as a tribute to this amazing family. It is so good now, why wait? Fat, broad and sweet, with nicely integrated acidity and complex hints of leather, herbs, licorice, chocolate and minerals. This cheek-coating wine is a bit more filled in than the 2003 release. Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 1994 Dominus "Napanook Vineyard" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (OWC - 99RP, 93VN, 91WS) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: " ... The 1994 is a strikingly thick, compellingly rich wine with the texture of a great Pomerol, despite being made primarily from Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine exhibits a dense purple color, and an incredibly fragrant nose of jammy black fruits, spice, smoke, and loamy, truffle-like scents. In the mouth, it is full-bodied, with thrilling levels of extract and richness, but no sense of heaviness or harshness. This seamless Dominus possesses no hard edges, as its acidity, tannin, and alcohol are beautifully meshed with copious quantities of ripe fruit. This wine offers early drinking, yet has the potential to last for 30+ years. (RP)" (12/1997)

A rich, explosive wine, the 2009 can be enjoyed young for its exuberance, but the best is yet to come. Personally, I would wait a bit on the 2009. Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1994 Shafer "Hillside Select" Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon (96CG, 96RP, 94VN, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A spectacular wine, the 1994 Shafer Cabernet Sauvignon Hillside Select begins a succession of profound Hillside Select cuvées that continues nearly uninterrupted (1996 misses slightly) to the present day. It is a further indication of just how impressive this team’s performance has been at this winery. The fully mature 1994, which has another 15-20 years of drinkability ahead of it, exhibits a complex, nearly flamboyant nose of subtle oak, blue, red and black fruits, graphite and licorice. The gorgeous aromas are followed by an opulent, full-bodied, multidimensional mouthfeel that coats the palate. (RP)" (12/2014)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2013 Bond "Matriarch" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (OWC - 95RP, 94JS, 93VN, 93WS) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2013 Matriarch, which may well be the finest Matriarch made to date, could easily stand on its own as a single-vineyard offering. Made from the odds and ends of the single-vineyard wines, nevertheless this is pretty great wine, and I joked with the winemaking team that maybe their selection process was too draconian. Dense purple, with notes of mulberry, blackberry, chocolate, cocoa and espresso, the wine is dense, full-bodied, opulent, and a total hedonistic turn-on. (RP)" (10/2016)

This full-bodied classic displays notes of forest floor, earth, crème de cassis, blackberry liqueur, licorice and some pen ink. Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2013 Colgin "Cariad" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (OWC - 98RP, 98VN, 97JS, 93WS) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2013 Cariad Proprietary Red Wine, a blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Merlot, 13% Cabernet Franc and 9% Petit Verdot, shows great intensity, with a slightly more burning ember and scorched earthiness to it, giving it a more Graves-like character compared to the purity of the Tychson Hill. The wine is full-bodied, rich, layered and possibly slightly more tannic and backward than the Tychson Hill, but that could be because it had recently been bottled. It should evolve over the course of 30+ years. (RP)" (10/2015)

Connoisseurs Guide: "In this hit-and-miss vintage that was not much heralded after the seemingly awesome trio of 1984 to 1986, Spottswoode has come up with an absolute masterpiece and easily its best wine of the entire 1980s decade. At twenty years old, it still has good color, plenty of vigor and richness, evident currant and loam aromas and a deep, solid, balanced structure in support of its ripe yet refined flavors. This one has a decade of perfect service in front of it and may last for years beyond that point. Two stars when first reviewed." (04/2007)

The wine's saturated dark purple color is followed by a huge, unevolved but sexy nose of toasty new oak, dense, black-cherry and jammy cassis fruit, and vague scents of underbrush and spice. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2013 Proprietary Red Sloan is from the same 13 acres of estate vineyard. Typical of the vintage, it is spectacular, inky purple and massive, with unbelievably ripe fruit and a vibrancy and delineation that is breathtaking – given the richness and massiveness of this wine that is a true long-term prospect. It needs 5-6 years of further bottle age and should easily last 30-35 years. The notes of black truffle, charcoal, incense, blackberry and cassis fruit are followed by a full-bodied, stunningly proportioned wine that is loaded, incredibly pure and well-delineated. Abundant aromas of black cherries, black currants, cedar, spice box, and licorice are followed by a wine boasting terrific intensity, full-bodied power, and an expansive, long, savory finish with no hard edges. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The limited-production 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon True Vineyard (475 cases) is also 100% Cabernet Sauvignon aged 20 months in 90% new French oak. This is an amazing 2014 and one of the few perfect wines that I could find while tasting at the top addresses in Northern California. Blue/purple in color, with extraordinarily intense floral notes intermixed with blueberry, blackberry, crushed charcoal and camphor, the wine hits the palate with a spectacular display of glycerin, fruit, sweet tannin, adequate acidity, and wonderful equilibrium and purity. The finish was close to a minute. This wine is irresistible, although it is certainly capable of lasting three decades or more. 2014 Harbison "Pony Express" Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2014 Harbison "Pony Express" Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon (97RP, 96VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "As for the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Pony Express, this wine is showing better than it did last year as well (when I rated it 92-95), with notes of Christmas fruitcake, licorice, forest floor, white flowers, and oodles of crème de cassis, blackberry and blueberry fruit. It is a stunner, with an opulent, voluptuous texture, sweet tannins and low acidity. It should drink beautifully for another 20+ years. This was an incredible showing for the Harbison wines, which are made by Russell Bevan. They come from a fabulous vineyard in Oakville, sandwiched between some legends of that area, such as Screaming Eagle, Rudd, Plumpjack and Backus. (RP)" (10/2016)

2010 Marcassin "Marcassin Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2010 Marcassin "Marcassin Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (95RP, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Pinot Noir Marcassin Vineyard is a slightly tighter style of Pinot Noir, and lighter than the 2009. There is more acidity showing through, the fruit offering up various red and black fruits from pomegranate to plum to cassis, dark sweet cherries as well as foresty underbrush notes. It is developing quickly, without the intensity of flavor of the 2009. Anticipated maturity: now-2025. (RP)" (08/2015)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2014 Fairchild "Stones No.1 - Beckstoffer Las Piedras" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (OWC - 96RP, 96VN) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The extraordinary 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Stones No. 1 comes from another Beckstoffer Vineyard, Las Piedras in St. Helena. It is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from what is called clone 4. Loads of graphite, crushed rock, tobacco leaf, scorched earth, blackberry and blueberry fruit soar from the glass of this fat, opulent, decadently intense wine, which has low acidity, tremendous purity, and hedonistic appeal. 2004 Bryant Family Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2004 Bryant Family Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (98RP, 96VN, 96WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "It is well-known that many of the vineyards and terroirs on Pritchard Hill can be magical, and this is unquestionably one of them. Bryant’s 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon boasts a dense ruby/purple color along with exceptional aromatics consisting of stunningly pure blackberry, black raspberry and floral scents, full body and an opulent personality. Although this estate went through a few hiccups during its change in winemakers in 2001, the 2004 clearly shows this estate has come back with a vengeance. This stunning 100% Cabernet Sauvignon is one of the superstars of the vintage. Drink it over the next two decades. (RP)" (04/2014)

Wine Spectator: "Still very tightly wound with bound-up currant, earth, mineral and cedary oak flavors that are youthful and concentrated, making it seem as if it's still not ready. The focus is sharp, the flavors are complex and deep and the tannins are sturdy without being overbearing. (JL, Web-2005)"

2013 Levy & McClellan Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (OWC)
Bid on this bottle of 2013 Levy & McClellan Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (OWC - 100RP, 95VN) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Absolute perfection, but also an extremely tiny production of only 175 cases, the 2013 Proprietary Red is a blend of 78% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Cabernet Franc and the rest Petit Verdot and Merlot. They fermented 45 days on the skins and the result is a profound opaque purple wine with beautiful notes of incense, charcoal embers, blackberry and cassis, coffee, a hint of chocolate and spring flowers. The perfect integration of acidity, tannin, wood and alcohol has resulted in a massive, super-intense, magnificent example of Napa viticulture that really requires a good 5-6 years of bottle age and then should age well for 50 or more years. To me it is the finest wine they have made to date. Kudos! (RP)" (12/2016)

Pungent aromas of black raspberry, cherry pit and sassafras, with an exotic touch of Indian spices building with air. Broad and fleshy on entry, then tighter in the mid-palate, offering taut dark fruit flavors that gain sweetness with air. Shows impressive clarity and energy on the clinging finish, which features fine-grained tannins and a sweet touch of cola. (ST)" (05/2013)

1989 Opus One Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this bottle of 1989 Opus One Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend. Vinous: "One of the powerhouses in this vertical, the 1989 Opus One explodes from the glass with layers of resonant fruit. Over time, the intensity of the fruit fades a little as some slightly more rustic elements – including a suggestion of brett – emerge. A spell of rain brought some relief to the drought-striking plants. The 1989 is 97 Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Cabernet Sauvignon and 1% Merlot. (AG)" (06/2013)

2011 Sine Qua Non "Patine - Eleven Confessions Vineyard" Santa Rita Hills Syrah
Bid on this bottle of 2011 Sine Qua Non "Patine - Eleven Confessions Vineyard" Santa Rita Hills Syrah (98RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A wine that needs to be forgotten in the cellar for 5-6 years, the 2011 Syrah Patine checks in as a blend of roughly 97% Syrah and the balance Roussanne and Viognier. It too comes all from the estate's Eleven Confessions Vineyard and saw 39 months in 63% new French oak. Backward, tight, concentrated and structured, with full-bodied richness and depth, it gives up Guigal La Landonne like aromas and flavors of graphite, sweet oak, smoked meats, pepper and black raspberry and cassis-like fruit. While it shows the vintage's cooler nature, it has a stacked mid-palate and will evolve gracefully for 15-20 years. (JD)" (08/2015)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2013 Paul Lato "Seabiscuit - Zotovich Vineyard" Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir (97RP, 91VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the standouts in this stacked lineup was the 2013 Pinot Noir Seabiscuit Zotovich Vineyard. Aged 16 months in 70% new French oak and the greatest Pinot Noir I've tasted from this vineyard, it offers incredible notes of cassis, raspberries, dried earth, spice and that classic saltiness that's so common from the Sta. Rita Hills. Full-bodied, layered, multi-dimensional and elegant, with perfectly integrated acidity and polished tannin, it's a fabulous Pinot Noir that will have more than a decade of longevity. Unfortunately, there were on eight barrels produced. (JD)" (08/2015)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2008 Rhys "Swan Terrace - Alpine Vineyard" Santa Cruz Mountains Pinot Noir (94BH, 94ST, (89-92RP)). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Vivid red. Smoky raspberry, black cherry, potpourri and a note of candied licorice on the assertive nose. Supple, sappy and sweet, showing racy, mineral-tinged red berry and floral pastille character and excellent clarity. Ripe acids give this wine a juicy, energetic and very pure quality. Finishes with delicate tannins and resonating floral and mineral tones. This is already extremely sexy. (ST)" (06/2010)

2004 Lagier Meredith Mt. Veeder Syrah
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2004 Lagier Meredith Mt. Veeder Syrah (96W&S, 92RP, 91WS). Wine & Spirits: "The vines Steve Lagier and Carol Meredith planted 1,300 feet up Mt. Veeder were ten years old in 2004. And while the vintage expression is completely different from the richness of the previous harvest (rated 97 in our August '06 issue), the aromatic sophistication is the same. Since this is more elegant and lighter in weight than the 2003, the extraordinary complexity of aromas seems that much more dramatic. Swirl the glass and you might recognize the exotic scent of game, of fir and other foresty spice, of manzanita and black and green peppercorn. The finish is cool and dynamic, the aromas lasting for a minute or more. For now, the wine is extreme, though it could be tempered by salume from Fra'Mani, a rack of lamb with rosemary or cellar time." (02/2007)

Bid on this bottle of 2008 Maybach Family "Materium" Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon (96RP, 95WE, 94ST, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2008 Materium comes from a single block called the Weitz Vineyard at a 1,000-foot elevation on the eastern hillsides of Oakville. It would be hard to improve upon the virtually perfect 2007, but the 2008 is not far behind. Notes of graphite, blueberry, charcoal, spring flowers, and some background oak are followed by a dense, purple-colored wine with full-bodied power, great elegance, precision, and purity. This is again an extraordinary effort from Maybach. It should drink well for 20-25 years. (RP)" (12/2010)

2013 Ridge Vineyards "Dusi Ranch" Paso Robles Zinfandel
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2013 Ridge Vineyards "Dusi Ranch" Paso Robles Zinfandel (90VN). Vinous: "Ridge's 2013 Zinfandel Paso Robles, from the Benito Dusi Ranch, exudes Paso warmth and richness. Unquestionably racy and overt, the 2013 offers striking depth and intensity, with a slightly roasted, sweet quality to the fruit. Sweet tobacco, cedar and dried herbs add closing shades of nuance, but the 2013 remains quite opulent in style. Still, all the elements are in the right place. The 2013 could use a few years to soften. It will be appreciated most by readers who enjoy intense, super-ripe Zinfandels. (AG)" (07/2015)

Vinous: "The 2013 Pinot Noir UV-SL Vineyard is the most opulent and extroverted of these Pinots, but it is also the most compelling. Endowed with huge fruit, and an explosive mid-palate, the UV-SL captures the very best of this style of Pinot. Layers of dark, inky fruit built to a crescendo of intensity and juiciness. Hints of lavender, spices and violets wrap around the finish, with plenty of support from beams of underlying tannin. (AG)" (01/2015)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2008 Ojai "Presidio Vineyard" Santa Barbara County Pinot Noir (93ST, 92RP). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Vivid ruby. A complex, spicy bouquet displays candied red fruits, rose, licorice and allspice, with a smoky overtone. Pure, energetic raspberry and cherry flavors stain the palate and pick up a deeper note of mocha with air. Powerful but graceful, with strong finishing punch and lingering smokiness. In the mouth, more white chocolate notes appear, along with meatiness and some silky tannins.
