2014 Scarecrow Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (OWC)
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2014 Scarecrow Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (OWC - 100RP, 96VN) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The utterly perfect 2014 Scarecrow Cabernet Sauvignon (1,500 cases) has everything one could possibly want in a Cabernet. Inky purple-colored to the rim, with a glorious nose of white flowers, crème de cassis, hints of blackberry and boysenberry, some licorice and forest floor are followed by an enormously concentrated wine with fabulous purity, a skyscraper-like mid-palate and texture, a length of nearly a minute, and stunning flavors, with flawless integration of acidity, tannin, wood and alcohol. This is a great, great wine and certainly one of the Cabernet Sauvignons of this vintage. Drink it over the next 25-30 or more years. (RP)" (12/2016)

2012 Caymus "40th Anniversary" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2012 Caymus "40th Anniversary" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (96RP, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "They appear to be immune to some of winedom’s less than intelligent trends and fads that we see from time to time, and the result is a spectacular 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon 40th Anniversary offering. Its dense purple/black color is followed by copious quantities of crème de cassis and blackberry fruit, silky tannins, a voluptuous texture and stunning purity as well as length. This full-bodied effort is a fabulous example of Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon as well as a tribute to this amazing family. It is so good now, why wait? However, I’m sure that like most vintages of Caymus, it will last for 20-25 years. Amazing! (RP)" (10/2014)

2002 Spottswoode "Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2002 Spottswoode "Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (100RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "In 2002 very small yields produced only about 3,000 cases at 14.7% natural alcohol and a blend of 94% Cabernet Sauvignon and 6% Cabernet Franc. This wine is going from strength to strength since I first tasted it prior to bottling. Now a perfect wine, the incredible perfume of blueberries, black raspberries and cassis, along with white flowers and camphor is extraordinarily fragrant and intense. That is easily matched by the magnificent full-bodied richness and compellingly layered mouthfeel of this wine that is rich, full-bodied and a still youthful vintage that remains capable of another 25-30 years of cellaring. This is a dramatic vintage for Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, and it is always fascinating to taste a top winery’s 2001 and 2002 next to each other because they are both such great years. However, the 2002s tend to be the more flamboyant wines, and t

2007 Rudd "Oakville Estate" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2007 Rudd "Oakville Estate" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (98RP, (92-95ST)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The flagship wine, the 2007 Proprietary Red from Oakville is a blend of 76% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Malbec, and Petit Verdot. A prodigious effort, it boasts a dense purple color along with gorgeously complex aromatics reminiscent of a hypothetical blend of a first-growth Pauillac and a top Graves. Notes of burning embers, forest floor, creme de cassis, blackberries, espresso, and a hint of chocolate soar from the glass of this full-bodied, well-delineated, structured wine with tremendous depth and texture. This awesome red is a future legend in the making. Give it 4-5 years of bottle age, and drink it over the following 30-35 years. 98+ (RP)" (12/2009)

2007 Snowden "Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2007 Snowden "Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (97RP, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The dazzling 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve (86% Cabernet Sauvignon and 14% Cabernet Franc) requires 2-5 more years of bottle age, but should evolve for three decades. Its dense purple color is accompanied by a thrilling bouquet of espresso roast, smoked herbs, licorice, creme de cassis, blackberries, and ink. The wine hits the palate with a blast of fruit, a full-bodied mouthfeel, and tremendous purity, definition, and length. The sensational purity and exquisite balance between all its elements are impressive as well as noteworthy. (RP)" (12/2009)

2013 Orin Swift "Mercury Head" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2013 Orin Swift "Mercury Head" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (98RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 100% Cabernet Sauvignon aged 18 months in 50% new French oak, is the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Mercury Head. Certainly one of the more intriguing labels, with a real Mercury-head dime embedded in the glass bottle, this 4,500-case cuvée comes from blocks in Taplin, Morisoli and Atlas Peak vineyards. The final blend is a selection of their best barrels, bottled and aged another six months prior to release. This is a killer Cabernet Sauvignon, full-bodied and multilayered, with stunning blueberry and blackberry fruit, floral acacia notes, a hint of brioche and subtle toasty oak followed by a massive, full-bodied wine with sweet tannin and beautifully integrated acidity, alcohol and wood. This profound Cabernet Sauvignon should drink well now and for 25+ years. Dave Phinney may well be 2015's winemaker of the year for this wine taster. (RP)" (10/2015)

Of the 2008 Rhys "Alpine Vineyard" Santa Cruz Mountains Pinot Noir,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "The deep ruby-colored 2008 Pinot Noir Alpine Vineyard (a 10-acre parcel planted at 1,400 feet) possesses a big, sweet, powerful nose of raspberries, spring flowers, damp earth, and mossy, foresty vegetation. Sweet currants, pomegranates, and black raspberries also emerge on the palate of this full-bodied effort. 2002 Sloan Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (OWC)
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2002 Sloan Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (OWC - 100RP, 100WE, 99WS, 94ST) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The perfect score does not surprise me since I had given this wine a three-digit rating after bottling. However, I was surprised by how evolved and complex the 2002 has become. Compared to some of the other high scoring 2002s, Sloan's offering seems to be on a faster evolutionary track. There is nothing wrong with that, but based on this one bottle, this blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Merlot and the rest Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot can be drunk now or cellared for another 10-12 years. I do not think it will be one of the blockbuster, extremely long-lived wines of the vintage, but I could be wrong, because everything is in perfect balance. It offers a dense plum/garnet/purple color, a sweet nose of roasted espresso, chocolate, spring flowers, blackberries, black currants and new saddle leather, an opulent, voluptuous texture, gorge

Bid on this bottle of 1988 Quilceda Creek Reserve Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (94RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Reserves are outrageously rich, complex wines. Lamentably, with only 200 cases available (much of it gobbled up by locals), most subscribers will never have a chance to taste this wine. The just-released 1988 Reserve Cabernet offers a huge nose of spicy, cedary cassis fruit, and dense, super-rich, concentrated flavors with gorgeous texture, huge body, and an impeccable sense of balance. A superb Cabernet Sauvignon from start to finish, it should drink well for 20 or more years. (RP)" (12/1993)

Of the 2006 Saxum "Broken Stones" Paso Robles Rhône Blend,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "The 2006 Broken Stones (63% Syrah, 24% Grenache, and 13% Mourvedre) blew me away. An inky/purple color and a dazzling, explosive bouquet of black raspberries, camphor, cassis, forest floor, and spring flowers are followed by a rich, elegant wine offering laser-like precision as well as a striking minerality. It is a powerful yet graceful effort that should drink well for 10-12+ years. 1997 Ridge "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 1997 Ridge "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon (94RP, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A vintage that had big yields and a hectic harvest, the 1997 Monte Bello is a sexy, supple and layered beauty that's drinking beautifully today. Cassis, toasted spice, cigar and dried herbs all flow nicely to a full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon that has solid textured, good mid-palate depth and still present tannin. I thought the tannin could be cause for concern at first, but they sweetened up with time in the glass; nevertheless, I see no need to delay gratification and would drink while the getting is good. Aromas of graphite, tobacco leaf, black currants, and cedar emerge from this medium to full-bodied, supple-textured, consumer-friendly, serious, complex red. It should drink beautifully for 10-15 years. Taut and sharply focused red fruit flavors gain flesh with air, along with exotic spicecake and lavender pastille notes. 2010 Caymus Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2010 Caymus Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (94RP, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa is a beauty. Dense ruby/purple-colored, it is filled with creme de cassis fruit, supple tannins and an opulent, full-bodied mouthfeel. The family believes in delivering exceptional pleasure and intensity to their wines, but they also have remarkable aging potential as the 1975 and 1976 Special Selections in my cellar bear witness. Though the Wagner family is not quite the pioneer that Louis Martini, Charles Krug, Beaulieu Private Reserve, Ridge Vineyards and a few others are, they have long farmed and made the wines at Caymus Vineyards. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2015 Chardonnay UV-SL, which is also an Old Wente clone, and the coldest of all of the Aubert Chardonnay sites, should come close to being a perfect Chardonnay with a few years of age. Plenty of exotic fruits, intense richness, an incredible, fragrant nose of honeysuckle, orange marmalade, caramelized citrus, white peach and a subtle hint of pineapple are all present in this incredibly full-bodied, rich, thick wine buttressed by considerable natural acids. Connoisseurs Guide: "Keyed in the nose on the pure, cherry-like fruit that exemplifies Russian River Valley Pinot Noir at its best, this wine shows both plenty of depth and an uncommon sense of sophistication right from the very first. Although balanced and even a touch supple to start, it follows its mates insofar as it firms and takes on a slight bit of latter-palate toughness, but its fruit and its impressions of depth do not abate, and age is again very much needed." Remarkably, the wine matches the perfect 2013, with extraordinary fragrance of blueberry, blackberry, forest floor, truffle, spring flowers and background barbecue smoke followed by a thick, unctuously textured, juicy, but incredibly well-balanced, intense wine. Bid on this bottle of 2011 Sine Qua Non "Dark Blossom" California Syrah (99RP, 96VN, (94-95ST)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2011 Syrah Dark Blossom showed even better from bottle than barrel. A blend of 84% Syrah, 8% Grenache, 4% Petite Sirah and the rest Roussanne and Petite Manseng, this beauty was fermented with 17% whole clusters and aged in equal parts new and used French oak. One of the shining successes in the vintage, it’s a full-bodied, concentrated and layered Syrah that has awesome aromatics of blackcurrants, Peking duck, pepper, licorice and charcuterie in its seamless, thrillingly pure profile. As with Manfred’s other 2011s, the tannins are certainly present, yet they’re sweet, polished and have no hard edges. Give this beauty 2-3 years in the cellar and enjoy bottles through 2031. Opaque blue/purple with notes of graphite, blueberry and blackberry fruit, charcoal, incense and a full-bodied mouthfeel, the wine has noticeable, but sweet, well-integrated tannins, acidity and wood. 2004 Marcassin "Blue-Slide Ridge" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Bid on this bottle of 2004 Marcassin "Blue-Slide Ridge" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (95RP, 95ST, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Once again, the 2004 Pinot Noir Blue Slide Ridge, which always comes from Dijon clones, displays extraordinary Vosne-Romanée-like notes of forest floor and blue and black fruits intermixed with some truffle, smoked meats, and root vegetables. Dark, round, and lush, this sumptuous Pinot Noir is a hedonistic/intellectual thrill ride that should be drunk over the next 6-8 years. (RP) 95+" (02/2010)

Of the 2013 Blankiet "Rive Droite - Paradise Hills Vineyard" Napa Valley Red Blend,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "Blankiet again hit a home run with his 2013 Rive Droite, which is 92% Merlot and 8% Cabernet Franc. There are only 300 cases of this, but it is another Petrus lookalike in Napa Valley (which is interesting, given that the next door vineyard is the Moueix-owned Dominus). Offering deep, dense, chocolaty notes with mocha, toffee, black cherry liqueur and even darker berry fruit, this is a wine of phenomenal intensity, with multi-dimensional mouthfeel and a finish of close to a minute. It is as close to perfection as a wine can get, and may eventually hit that three-digit score with another 1

2003 Pahlmeyer Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2003 Pahlmeyer Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (94RP, 92VN, 92WS, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This is a gorgeously opulent, complex, profound blend of 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Merlot and the rest Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec (15.1% alcohol) from Jayson Pahlmeyer and his brilliant winemaking sidekick, Erin Green. Pahlmeyer-s wines, first made by Helen Turley, continue to go from strength to strength. This nearly fully mature 2003 possesses deep, rich black currant fruit notes intermixed with hints of white chocolate, spice box, flowers and subtle background oak. Rich, authoritative and full-bodied, it should last for another decade, but why wait? (RP)" (06/2013)

Of the 2011 Futo "OV" Oakville Bordeaux Blend,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "Mocha, espresso, rosemary and tobacco lead to a rich, voluptuous core of fruit in the 2011 OV. Firm tannins give the wine more than enough backbone to allow it to drink well for a number of years after release. Layers of spice-infused fruit wrap around the rich, sensual finish. There is little question the 2011 OV is one of the finest wines of the year. A superb showing by any measure, the OV will also best many of the top-tier wines in this vintage. The 2011 OV stands apart from previous editions of this wine in that it is predominantly Cabernet Franc. This is a dazzling effort. Wow! Anticipated maturity: 2014-2025. (AG)" (12/2012)

The "Apologue", the counterpart to the "Chase Creek" Cabernet Sauvignon (sourced from the part of the vineyard closer to the creek on more alluvial soil) shows the volcanic qualities in the soils found on the eastern side of the vineyard. Of the 2010 Linne Calodo "Outsider" Paso Robles Red Blend,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "As opposed to some of the other Zinfandel based wines here, the 2010 Outsider has a darker fruit profile and more textural depth. The 2010 is juicy, inviting and full-bodied all the way through to the seamless finish. This is another gorgeous wine from Linne Calodo. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2013 Purlieu "Martinez Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (95RP, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Beautiful blackberry and blueberry fruit jump from the glass of the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Martinez Vineyard, which spent 26 months in 100% new French oak. Apparently this comes from a vineyard on Pritchard Hill, and one can see the blue fruits, the white flowers and the gorgeously pure texture and richness. This is superb, full-bodied and a real stunner. It's no wimpy wine, either, at 15.4% alcohol. Drink it over the next 20 years. (RP)" (12/2015)

Endowed with huge fruit, and an explosive mid-palate, the UV-SL captures the very best of this style of Pinot. Layers of dark, inky fruit built to a crescendo of intensity and juiciness. Hints of lavender, spices and violets wrap around the finish, with plenty of support from beams of underlying tannin. (AG)" (01/2015)

Of the 2007 Beaux Frères "Upper Terrace" Ribbon Ridge Pinot Noir (1.5L),Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar writes: "Deep red with a bright rim. Pungent aromas of red and dark berries, Asian spices and musky herbs. Broad, fleshy dark berry flavors gain freshness with air and pick up notes of allspice and candied rose. Manages to be both rich and lively, finishing with excellent energy and lingering spiciness. This really hangs onto the palate. More serious than the Beaux Freres Vineyard bottling, but I marginally prefer that wine's liveliness. (JR)" (05/2009)

2013 Purlieu Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2013 Purlieu Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (96RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Purlieu was aged in 70% new French oak for 22 months. This just has a Napa appellation, but is very concentrated -- even profoundly so -- and I have to argue that it's even deeper, richer and potentially even finer than the Martinez Vineyard from Pritchard Hill. Very long, impressive and intense, this looks to be a great value in the scheme of Napa Cabernet pricing. It is also no shy wine at 15.5% alcohol. This is a big-time sleeper of the vintage. Drink now-2030. (RP)" (12/2015)

Bid on this bottle of 2012 Dancing Hares Napa Valley Proprietary Red ((91-94ST), 93RP, 92VN, 91WS). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright medium red-ruby. Lovely floral lift to the aromas of raspberry and minerals. Tight and serious in the mouth, showing moderate density but terrific definition to its red fruit flavors complicated by a suggestion of incense. Turned plumper with aeration but this is still not a particularly opulent style. Ripely tannic and very long on the aftertaste. Winemaker Andy Erickson notes that this vintage is much more typical of its site than the 2011. (ST)" (05/2014)

Savory herbs, mint, licorice and plums are woven together in a fabric of notable class. Still young and vibrant, the 1998 is an excellent choice for drinking now and over the next decade. The focus, length and persistence are all super-impressive, especially within the context of a challenging vintage. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A remarkable wine, the 2010 Shafer Cabernet Sauvignon Hillside Select has gone from strength to strength since it was in cask. It is stunningly rich, with classic, fragrant notes of blackcurrants, blackberries, vanilla, graphite and spring flowers. It exhibits an opaque purple color, with a full-bodied, massive mouthfeel, but no heaviness, and again, a flawless integration of acidity, tannin, alcohol and wood. It’s classic California Cabernet, but beautifully put together, showing impeccable craftsmanship and fabulous potential. This is obviously a very young, infantile style of Cabernet that won’t hit its prime for at least another decade and last close to half a century, based on how older vintages that were less well-endowed have matured from Shafer. Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2003 Bond "Pluribus" Napa Valley Red Blend (98RP, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2003 Pluribus (the debut vintage of this cuvee) performed spectacularly. Created from some of the estate’s youngest vines planted in decomposed white tufa volcanic soils at an elevation of 1,100 to 1,300 feet on Spring Mountain, it offers a stunning blue/purple color, copious quantities of blueberries, black raspberries and violet-infused fruit intermixed with hints of foresty flora. Rich, full-bodied and pure, this beautiful 2003 is several years away from full maturity, but it should keep for two more decades. Wine Enthusiast: "***Cellar Selection*** Hews to the Hanzell style, which is almost old-fashioned in this age of ripely opulent Pinot Noirs. This one's tight as a drum in tannins and acids, a quivery, nervously wound wine. Yet it's quite rich and complex, with a tapestry of cherry, red licorice, tobacco, Canadian bacon, dusty Indian spice and buttered toast flavors.
