Of the 2012 Kosta Browne "Garys' Vineyard" Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "One of my favorites in the lineup, the 2012 Pinot Noir Garys' Vineyard shows its 15% whole cluster fermentation with the darker fruit, ground pepper, herbs and background meatiness that shows on the nose. A rich, full-flavored, yet still seamless and elegant Pinot Noir, it has solid underlying structure and beautiful focus that comes through on the finish. It can be consumed anytime over the coming 5-7 years. This was another stacked lineup by the team of Dan Kosta and Michael Browne. All of these wines showed the more approachable style of the 2012 vi

Bid on this bottle of 2005 Leroy Nuits-St-Georges "Aux Lavières" ((89-91BH), 90RP, (88-90ST)). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Here the aromas are higher-toned and more elegant with a pretty mix of spicy red and black fruits nuanced with mocha and earth notes that continue onto the suave, rich, sweet and sappy medium full flavors that drench the palate in dry extract on the round and long finish that is certainly attractive but there isn't quite the energy and punch here. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Super-ripe cherries, plums, and candied raspberries are found in the mouth-watering aromas of the medium to dark ruby-colored 1999 Vosne-Romanee Les Suchots. This is an intensely sweet, blackberry, blueberry, cherry, and Asian spice-flavored wine. Medium-bodied and pure, it offers a lush, opulent character that drowns its present yet supple tannins. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The utterly profound 2003 Pinot Noir Blue Slide Ridge is a candidate for one of California’s greatest Pinot Noirs. A full-bodied beauty, it offers up aromas of plums, anise, forest floor, black and blue fruits, and gamy, sweet, aged beef. With unreal complexity, in addition to superb texture, purity, and definition, this is a tour de force in winemaking that confirms the brilliance of this husband and wife team who recently celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary." Wine Enthusiast: "*Cellar Selection* Big and bold, this is real Chambertin, a dense mouthful of plum fruit and tannin. 1996 Robert Groffier Chambolle-Musigny "Les Amoureuses"
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1996 Robert Groffier Chambolle-Musigny "Les Amoureuses" (93ST). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar writes: "Saturated ruby-red. Supersweet aromas of raspberry, currant, graphite and sweet oak, plus an exotic suggestion of citrus fruit. Silky and sweet, if rather unforthcoming in the middle palate; offers great concentration and a near perfect sugar/acid balance. Firm tannins are covered by fruit. Great whiplash of a finish. This has considerable early appeal but will be even better after seven or eight years of additional bottle aging. (ST)" (04/1999)

Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "(made from a blend of fruit from the Garys', Gap's Crown, Kanzler and Keefer vineyards): Vivid ruby. Smoky Indian spices, dark berries and cherry-cola on the nose. Broad and deep but also precise, offering sweet cherry compote and black raspberry flavors lifted by peppery spices. Tightly focused on the finish, which manages to be both vibrant and powerful. Fine-grained tannins arrive late and add shape and grip to this youthful pinot. (ST)" (04/2012)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2011 Domaine de Montille Volnay 1er Cru "Les Taillepieds" ((91-94BH), 90ST). Allen Meadows - Burghound: " *Sweet Spot Outstanding* There is enough reduction present to mask the nuances of the nose though the floral character does sneak past the funk. There is a wonderfully silky texture to the intense mineral and soil-inflected medium-bodied flavors that display really lovely delineation on the moderately austere and very firmly structured finish that delivers outstanding depth and length. 1996 Domaine Michel Mallard Corton-Le Rognet Grand Cru
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 1996 Domaine Michel Mallard Corton-Le Rognet Grand Cru. From a family with five generations of winegrowers and winemakers. This wine comes from one of the best pieces of Le Corton, Le Rognet, from vines 45-55 years old. The soil is predominantly limestone, resulting in a minerally character to balance the fruit. Mallard ages this wine for 17-18 months in 70% new casks. Tasting notes from the winery: "Corton Grand Cru Rognet is a wine with hints of violet, blueberries, blackberries and blackcurrant with liquorice and pepper spices. It possesses a velvety, complex structure and impressive persistency. Can be aged for a surprisingly long time."

I very much like this and the finish is long and strikingly persistent." (01/2004)

1985 Maison Leroy Beaune
Bid on this bottle of 1985 Maison Leroy Beaune. Robert Parker wrote of Leroy: "Much has been written about the dynamic Madame Lalou Bize-Leroy. Some of it has been malicious and motivated strictly by insidious jealousy. From time to time I have complained of her pricing structure. Yet there should never be any criticism of her philosophy of what burgundy should be. Her wines are among the noblest and purest expressions of Pinot Noir in Burgundy. They are treated with the care of a pampered child, never filtered, and bottled barrel by barrel. Given the size of her wines and their power and structure, in a cool damp cellar they will last 20 to 25 years."

There is ample length here and this is clearly a lovely villages. Note: Maume said that a bottle opened a week before had no reduction but I would suggest decanting this for 20 minutes or so first if you wish to try one young." (01/2005)

There is already a 6th generation waiting in the wings with the three sons of Pascal and Florence Lachaux. Pascal was working as a pharmacist specialising in homeopathy when he met Florence Arnoux, daughter of Robert; marriage and winemaking were soon to follow. 1993 Domaine Meo Camuzet Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru "Boudots"
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1993 Domaine Meo Camuzet Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru "Boudots". 90 points Robert Parker: The beautiful Nuits St.-Georges Les Boudots displays a dark ruby/purple color, full body, gobs of black fruits in the nose, intense flavor concentration, fine tannic structure, and excellent ripeness and length. It requires 2-4 years of cellaring and should drink well for 15 years. Meo-Camuzet's 1993s are unquestionably successes for the vintage. All the wines were bottled in April, 1995 without fining or filtration." (08/95) According to Clive Coates: "Very fine colour. Like his Corton this is a bit solid and tannic, but not as dense as it evolved. Full and austere but rather better mannered, better balanced and more classy. Yet, given the the vintage, not up to fine quality standard. Intense and with good grip but only very good indeed. " (The Vine, 08/01)

In the mouth, the wine is opulent and succulent, with medium to full body, superb depth of flavor, brilliant focus and delineation, as well as a round, generously endowed, velvety-textured finish. 1996 Pernin-Rossin Morey-St-Denis 1er Cru "Monts Luisants"
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 1996 Pernin-Rossin Morey-St-Denis 1er Cru "Monts Luisants". Robert Parker discussed the producer and his innovative methods in Wine Advocate: "They are not typical Burgundies: They have a rather purple hue to their color; intense, almost Côte-Rôtie-like bouquets of sweet raspberry fruit; and voluptuous, expansive, lush flavors. My friend Michel Bettane, an extraordinarily gifted taster and a writer for the Revue du Vin de France, considers these wines top class. Certainly Monsieur Pernin's prefermentation cold maceration of the grapes is the new rage in Burgundy-it results in wines with an incredible up-front perfume and glorious fruitiness." (01/1990)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2003 Marcassin "Marcassin Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (99RP, 97ST, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I was somewhat surprised to see that the 2003 Estate Pinot Noir merited the same score that it has received every time I have tasted it. Although I have never been able to award it a perfect score, it is as close to perfect as one will find. A terrific success in a vintage that rarely produced Pinot Noir of this quality except at selected micro-climates on the Sonoma coast. A majestic bouquet of black currants, smoky barbecue meat, blueberries and black raspberries soars from the glass of this dark plum/purple-colored wine. Full-bodied and stunningly rich with 14.5-14.7% natural alcohol, it possesses a layer of concentration as well as a multileveled complexity that builds incrementally across the palate." (06/2014)

Fresh and delicate in the mouth, with refined tannins though a hint of overtly resinous woodiness, it finishes with tender refreshment and lingering, village-typical floral and animal intrigue. 2001 Domaine Jean Tardy Clos Vougeot Grand Cru "Grand Maupertuis"
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2001 Domaine Jean Tardy Clos Vougeot Grand Cru "Grand Maupertuis". Allen Meadows writes: "Jean Tardy and his son Guillaume run this small, traditional 5.5 ha domaine. Tardy is unique in that they are the last remaining sharecroppers for Domaine Méo-Camuzet (see above). The domaine leases a small parcel of Clos de Vougeot, a large one of Boudots and fully 1.5 ha of Chaumes. The terms of the métayage agreement require Tardy to deliver 50% of the crop to Méo at harvest time and he reports that the lease runs until 2007. They practice lutte raisonné (the practice of applying treatments only when a particular threat presents itself, rather than treating in advance - the theory is that the vines receive fewer treatments because not all threats materialize), short pruning and replant strictly by repiquage, or replacing individual vines rather than grubbing up parcels in their entirety; this keeps average vine age at its maximum though it's far more expensive to do.

2001 Mommessin Clos de Tart Grand Cru
Bid on this bottle of 2001 Mommessin Clos de Tart Grand Cru (94RP, 93ST, 91BH). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2001 Clos de Tart is aging beautifully and is maturing into one of Sylvain Pitiot’s finest wines. Replicating its performance in 2010, it has a very expressive bouquet of vivacious red berry fruit: wild strawberry and raspberry, laced with minerals and dried rose petals. The palate is very well-balanced and full of succulent brambly red fruit. Perhaps it is moving into its secondary phase less slowly than I anticipated, with nuanced undergrowth notes developing toward the finish, which remains very fruit-driven and tense. There is a sense of style and class to this Clos de Tart, a grand cru bound to age with those same attributes over the following decade and beyond. Drink now-2024+. (NM)" (04/2014)

2001 Domaine Mongeard-Mugneret Grands-Echezeaux Grand Cru
Bid on this bottle of 2001 Domaine Mongeard-Mugneret Grands-Echezeaux Grand Cru (92BH). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A beautiful and complex nose offers up notes of dried flowers, spice, earth and a touch of animale along with secondary fruit aromas. There is good richness and detail to the medium-bodied, delicious and solidly complex flavors that possess fine verve on the balanced, persistent and satisfying finish. This is drinking perfectly now and while there is a bit of underlying tannin remaining, this is at its peak. I very much like this and it should continue to drink well for another decade, perhaps more." (03/2013)

Bid on this bottle of 2007 Domaine Sylvain Cathiard Vosne-Romanee 1er Cru "Aux Reignots" ((91-93RP), 91BH, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted at the Domaine. The Reignots had not been racked so had a slightly leesy nose, very good definition, floral with touches of peony and violets. Great purity once again. The palate still has some CO2, but appears to have great depth, very supple, lavished in new oak but in proportion to the level of fruit. Very well poised with lush red-berried fruit and a hint of coconut right on the finish. Superb. (NM)" (10/2009)

Bid on this magnum lot of 2010 Domaine de Courcel Pommard 1er Cru "Grand Clos des Épenots" (1.5L) (93BH, 93ST, 90WS). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good bright full red. Deep, nuanced aromas of red berries, spices and underbrush. Rich, vinous and deep, with sweet redcurrant fruit lifted by peppery spices. Shows terrific vivacity and precision in spite of its modest acidity (the pH here is 3.7, according to winemaker Yves Confuron), no doubt due to the whole-cluster fermentation. This generous, sensual wine finishes with fine but seriously gripping tannins. 93+ Points" (03/2013)

1993 Domaine Robert Groffier Bonnes Mares Grand Cru
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1993 Domaine Robert Groffier Bonnes Mares Grand Cru (92BH). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Wonderfully complex and still very fresh with strong aromas of ripe earth followed by big, robust, powerful flavors of considerable depth and length. This is the Hulk dressed in velvet as it's muscular but not rustic and delivers a great drinking experience. This is still fresh and while it is no longer primary, it should hold at this level for a long time. Note: there is a tremendous amount of bottle variation in the Groffier '93s and not all bottles have been quite this good." (10/2005)

2001 Domaine Comte de Vogüé Musigny Grand Cru Vieilles Vignes
Bid on this bottle of 2001 Domaine Comte de Vogüé Musigny Grand Cru Vieilles Vignes (96BH, (94-96RP)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Sumptuous aromas of violets, blackberries, and bilberries explode from the medium to dark ruby-colored 2001 Musigny. A wine of amazing purity and elegance, it reverberates on the palate revealing broad layers of floral dark fruit flavors. Lush yet superbly delineated, this medium-bodied effort is expressive, complex, and dignified. Its prolonged, succulent finish exhibits waves of raspberry fruit and loads of ripe, supple tannin. One of the stars of the vintage, it will be at its peak of maturity between 2006 and 2015. " (06/2003)

1990 Leroy Vosne-Romanée "Beaux Monts"
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1990 Leroy Vosne-Romanée "Beaux Monts" (98RP, 95WS, 92BH). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Vosne-Romanee-Les Beaumonts is a more subtle, more classic example of a top premier cru Vosne-Romanee. It does not soar from the glass with the exotic, smoky, roasted character of the Les Brulees, but it does offer authoritative and persistent aromas of black fruits, herbs, underbrush, and sweet oak. While it displays exceptional concentration of flavor in the mouth, it is supported by higher levels of tannin and is a more structured, denser, richer wine than the Les Brulees. Since the tannins are more noticeable, it should be cellared for 7-8 years, and should last for 30 or more. This profound wine is one of the superstars of the vintage." (10/1992)

2001 Domaine Armand Rousseau Chambertin Grand Cru
Bid on this bottle of 2001 Domaine Armand Rousseau Chambertin Grand Cru (95RP, 94BH). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: " Tasted alongside the 2001 Clos Saint Jacques, the 2001 Chambertin Grand Cru possesses an ethereal, floral bouquet of raspberry jam, Morello cherries, minerals and undergrowth, gaining in intensity all the time in the glass. The palate is very natural and refined, in no way a powerful Chambertin, rather one of finesse, grace and purity. Divine. Drink now-2026. Tasted January 2014. (NM)" (04/2014)

Dark cherries, plums, wild berries, spices and licorice are woven together beautifully in this highly expressive, singular wine. A cool vein of minerality is a common thread as the wine continues to take shape in the glass. There is a beguiling, mysterious quality to the finish I find highly attractive. This is going to be a fascinating wine to follow over the next two decades plus. (AG)" (02/2012)

1985 Maison Leroy d'Auvenay Bourgogne Rouge
Bid on this bottle of 1985 Maison Leroy d'Auvenay Bourgogne Rouge. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Much has been written about the dynamic Madame Lalou Bize-Leroy. Given the size of her wines and their power and structure, in a cool damp cellar they will last 20 to 25 years. Bize-Leroy thinks 1985 is one of the two best burgundy vintages in the last twenty years, the other being 1978. Given the range of wines I tasted, 44 in all, 16 were exceptional, 21 very good to excellent. Thirty-seven very good to exceptional wines out of 44 is an amazingly high percentage, and I would be proud to own

1992 Domaine Robert Arnoux Echezeaux Grand Cru (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum lot of 1992 Domaine Robert Arnoux Echezeaux Grand Cru (1.5L). From the Burgundy Report: "Since 1858, five generations of Arnoux have been making wine in the Côte de Nuits. There is already a 6th generation waiting in the wings with the three sons of Pascal and Florence Lachaux. Pascal was working as a pharmacist specialising in homeopathy when he met Florence Arnoux, daughter of Robert; marriage and winemaking were soon to follow. Today Florence and Pascal are working hard to accommodate this sixth generation; it’s hard to miss their large new cuverie sited behind the bright red restaurant La Toute Petite Auberge at the side of the RN74."

It’s pretty much as good as the winery’s single-vineyard bottlings, but considerably less in price.
