2004 Littorai "Thieriot" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Bid on this 8-bottle lot of 2004 Littorai "Thieriot" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (92ST). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Palish red. Vibrant nose offers strawberry, spices, cola and white pepper. Plump, sweet, round and full. The dark raspberry, strawberry and pepper flavors are lush and seamless. Very fleshy and long wine, and a bit more primary than the excellent 2003 version. The alcohol of 14.4% is at the high end for a Littorai pinot, but this wine has more than enough material to support it. (ST)" (05/2006)

2006 Merry Edwards "Flax Vineyard" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir (1.5L)
Bid on this 2-magnum lot of 2006 Merry Edwards "Flax Vineyard" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir (1.5L). Connoisseurs Guide: "Deep, dense and brooding with flashes of woodsy spice and dried flowers overlying its essential themes of concentrated, black cherry fruit, Ms. Edwards's Flax bottling is a structured and ageworthy wine that is less about now and more about what will be with time. If not wanting for stuffing, it is still undeveloped and just a touch raw at the edges, and its slight finishing toughness reaffirms the need for another four or five years of age." (06/2009)

Deep, pungent aromas of black raspberry, cherry pie, vanillin oak and smoky Indian spices. Sappy, palate-coating cherry and dark berry compote flavors show an exotic floral pastille quality and hints of clove and mocha. A distinctly rich, fleshy Pinot that will aggravate Burgundy purists, but this wine makes quite a statement." (11/2010)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Rochioli "West Block" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir (94RP, 94ST, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Pinot Noir West Block is an exotic wine bursting with dark red cherries, kirsch, hard candy, flowers, licorice and spices. There is plenty of energy, tension and supporting structure to balance some of the wine’s more overt, explosive leanings. The finesse of the 2009 vintage comes across nicely on the polished finish. Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2011 Olivier Bernstein Clos de la Roche Grand Cru ((91-94BH), 94VN, 92ST). Allen Meadows - Burghound: " A touch of wood frames a strongly reduced nose that leads to rich, mouth coating and very suave big-bodied and overtly muscular flavors that possess plenty of palate drenching dry extract. There is good energy and plenty of power on the moderately complex, serious and very firm finish. There isn't as much depth at present compared to the Mazis and Clos de Bèze but there is first-rate underlying material and thus more should develop in time." (01/2013)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2014 Aubert "UV-SL Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (98RP, 94VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2014 Pinot Noir UV-SL is made from both the Vosne-Romanée and Calera clones of Pinot Noir. This is pure Sonoma Coast Pinot, with a sweet nose of root beer, blackcurrants, black cherries, and forest floor. It is the most densely colored of all four Pinot Noirs, and shows the biggest body, structure and richness. I also think it’s the most concentrated. This is an amazing wine and may have been the best 2014 Pinot Noir I tasted on this last trip. (RP)" (12/2015)

Savory herbs, tobacco, incense, licorice and dark red cherries all blossom from this captivating, sensual Pinot. Even better than it was from barrel, the 2010 Annabelle is firing on all cylinders today. This is another terrific showing from Ceritas and John Raytek. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2020. 2005 Kanzler "Reserve" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2005 Kanzler "Reserve" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir. Praise for the producer from the Prince of Pinot: "Kanzler Vineyard is the one of the hottest (not literally) Pinot Noir vineyards among Pinot Noir lovers. Planted by Stephen and Lynda Kanzler in 1996, just west of the town of Sebastopol in the Sonoma Coast appellation, it has quickly become a magical source for fine Pinot Noir. Pinot Noirs crafted by A.P. Vin, CL Wines, Kosta Browne, Rhys Vineyards and Roessler, among others, have caught the fancy of the wine press. Years ago, it was Williams Selyem that pushed Rochioli Vineyard to stardom and Kosta Browne has done that for Kanzler Vineyard."

2012 Hirsch "San Andreas Fault" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2012 Hirsch "San Andreas Fault" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (95W&S). Wine & Spirits: "Representing both the fog-cooled western ridges of the Hirsch estate and the slightly sunnier inland ridges, this is a particularly tense, energetic Pinot Noir from coastal Sonoma. The wine’s flavor and structure are almost indistinguishable, its sandy grip delivering cool, pristine, penetrating flavors of rosy spice and tilled soil. It remains firm and bright even with three days of air, a testament to the maturity of the vines that grew the wine, some of which were part of David Hirsch’s initial planting in 1980. Let its lean power unwind for a few years before opening it with something as simple as a roast chicken, allowing the wine to take center stage." (06/2016)

2006 Rivers-Marie "Summa Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2006 Rivers-Marie "Summa Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (91ST). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Pungent aromas of wild berries, herbs, underbrush and smoke lifted by an enticing lavender perfume. Less fruity but more minerally and bright than the basic bottling, offering a rather silky texture and some attractive high-toned notes of perfumed red fruits. I like this pinot's restrained sweetness and its classically dry finish. Owner/winemaker Thomas Brown told me that the tiny quantities of fruit he had to work with in 2005 were difficult to manage, and that the 2006s were easier to make. Sweet red cherry, raspberry, pomegranate, blood orange and chalk are some of the many notes that run through the 2015. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2014 Gevrey Chambertin Vieilles Vignes has a pure and fragrant bouquet with red rose petals infusing the vivid red cherry and fresh strawberry fruit. The palate is medium-bodied, quite tight and reserved on the entry with a keen line of acidity, correct and linear towards the fresh finish that is uninteresting in giving much away at the moment. It’s her first from Westside Road, which is warmer than her haunting grounds around the southern part of the valley. It’s quite a promising debut. The records from the town of Nuits-Saint-Georges confirm that the Moillard family owned vineyards there before the French Revolution. But it wasn't until 1850 that the first train on the new Paris-Lyon line brought a Belgian notary to Nuits. He became the first client of Symphorien Moillard and encouraged him to become a wine merchant. In effect, he was asking him to select and age other regional wines besides those of his own estate. 2009 Flowers "Sea View Ridge" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2009 Flowers "Sea View Ridge" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (94W&S, 91WS). Wine & Spirits: "Selected from Flowers's most recent planting, 43 acres rising from 1,400 to 1,875 feet above the Pacific, with views of the fog and the ocean below. The best wines from this vineyard have shown glimmers of grand cru sophistication and this 2009 develops in a way that parallels a great Burgundy. It starts off meaty, seemingly simple in its directness, until it begins to deepen, the tannins going through an adolescent moment with a character like spiced tea and cheese rind. By the next day, those tannins have turned toward a ferrous minerality and the wine is racy, dense, floral, as red as persimmon, powerful in an oceanic sense. If you don't believe there is terroir character in California pinot noir, spend some time at this vineyard, then go home and taste this wine." (10/2011)

You look for massive fruit and elaborate construction, and that’s what you find in this fabulously exotic wine. It’s a beauty, rich, dense and opulent, with complex cherry, rose petal, dark chocolate and new oak flavors, wrapped into firm, refined tannins. Just gorgeous now, with a few hours of decanting, but it will easily develop bottle nuances for a good eight years. *Cellar Selection*" (02/2012)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2007 Olivier Bernstein Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru "Les Cazetiers" ((91-93ST), 91BH). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright red-ruby. Enticing tangy aromas of raspberry, bitter cherry, spices and game. Then suave and creamy in the mouth but with excellent energy and lift toward the back thanks to resounding minerality. This mounts impressively and coats the palate without giving any impression of weight. The fine-grained tannins contribute to an overall impression of finesse. Strong juice, but quite refined. Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2009 Anthill Farms "Tina Marie Vineyard" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir (93RP, 92ST, 91BH). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Pinot Noir Tina Marie Vineyard presents a very classic Russian River profile in its exuberant dark red fruit. Deep, round and velvety, the Tina Marie impresses for its textural elegance and silkiness. Gentle floral and spiced notes add lift on the plush, inviting finish. This is high-class juice. 2014 Aubert Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2014 Aubert Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir. Robert Parker writes: "Mark Aubert had an impressive resumé long before he became this famous, mentored by Helen Turley when he was at Peter Michael, and from there spending impressive tenures at Colgin and Tom Futo’s winery before he went off bound for glory... All of Aubert’s wines tend to push about 15% natural alcohol as he is not shy about ripeness, but they also have great acids. They are aged in 100% new oak that is virtually untraceable, given the quality of the fruit and his magical élevage, which produces wines that are pure and precise... His 2014s are among the great, great successes of the vintage. As he told me, 2014 was a tiny crop for him, and all of the wines are slightly bigger than even his 2013s and 2012s, meaning they are in excess of 15% alcohol, but they have intense acid profiles due to the drought and dry soils where his vineyards are planted." 1995 Domaine Thomas Moillard Romanee-St-Vivant Grand Cru
Bid on this bottle of 1995 Domaine Thomas Moillard Romanee-St-Vivant Grand Cru . So, you can see, these folks have been in the negociant business for a bit!

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Comte Senard Corton Clos du Roi Grand Cru (93BH). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A conspicuously ripe, serious, earthy and mildly animale nose features notes of red and blue pinot fruit compote that complements the equally serious, rich, full and overtly tannic flavors that possess a manifestly chewy mouth feel on the hugely persistent finish. This is perhaps a bit riper than a classic Clos du Roi but otherwise, this is text book. Note well that this will be suitable only for the very patient." (05/2011)

Bid on this 7-bottle lot of 2007 Kistler "Cuvée Elizabeth - Bodega Headlands Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir ((96-98RP), 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Previously recommended, no tastng note given. Following the brilliant success of Kistler’s 2007s, Steve Kistler and his sidekick, Mark Bixler, deserve kudos for what they have achieved in the more challenging 2008 vintage. This is the first vintage in which 100% of the fermentations were indigenous, and, fortunately, all their Sonoma Coast vineyards were far enough south that they were not tainted by any of the smoke from the ferocious fires that spread through Mendocino. The 2008s appear to be slightly more fruit-forward, with a touch less minerality than the 2007s. They are full-bodied, impressively endowed wines, with the Chardonnays best drunk during their first 5-7 years of life, and the Pinot Noirs during their first 10-12. (RP)" (02/2010)

Of the 2008 Rhys "Alpine Vineyard" Santa Cruz Mountains Pinot Noir,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "The deep ruby-colored 2008 Pinot Noir Alpine Vineyard (a 10-acre parcel planted at 1,400 feet) possesses a big, sweet, powerful nose of raspberries, spring flowers, damp earth, and mossy, foresty vegetation. Sweet currants, pomegranates, and black raspberries also emerge on the palate of this full-bodied effort. With excellent acidity and delineation as well as a weighty, long, rich mouthfeel with lots of structure and tannin, this enormously promising wine suggests a long life if stored i

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2011 Williams Selyem "Olivet Lane" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir (93ST, 92WE). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright ruby. High-pitched, spice-accented aromas of raspberry, candied cherry, Asian spices and smoky minerals. Taut and sharply focused red fruit flavors gain flesh with air, along with exotic spicecake and lavender pastille notes. Bid on this 2-magnum lot of 2006 Merry Edwards "Tobias Glen" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir (1.5L) (92CG). Connoisseurs Guide: "Keyed in the nose on the pure, cherry-like fruit that exemplifies Russian River Valley Pinot Noir at its best, this wine shows both plenty of depth and an uncommon sense of sophistication right from the very first. Although balanced and even a touch supple to start, it follows its mates insofar as it firms and takes on a slight bit of latter-palate toughness, but its fruit and its impressions of depth do not abate, and age is again very much needed." Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Once again, the 2004 Pinot Noir Blue Slide Ridge, which always comes from Dijon clones, displays extraordinary Vosne-Romanée-like notes of forest floor and blue and black fruits intermixed with some truffle, smoked meats, and root vegetables. Dark, round, and lush, this sumptuous Pinot Noir is a hedonistic/intellectual thrill ride that should be drunk over the next 6-8 years. (RP) 95+" (02/2010)

Vinous: "The 2013 Pinot Noir UV-SL Vineyard is the most opulent and extroverted of these Pinots, but it is also the most compelling. Endowed with huge fruit, and an explosive mid-palate, the UV-SL captures the very best of this style of Pinot. Layers of dark, inky fruit built to a crescendo of intensity and juiciness. Hints of lavender, spices and violets wrap around the finish, with plenty of support from beams of underlying tannin. (AG)" (01/2015)

Of the 2007 Beaux Frères "Upper Terrace" Ribbon Ridge Pinot Noir (1.5L),Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar writes: "Deep red with a bright rim. Pungent aromas of red and dark berries, Asian spices and musky herbs. Broad, fleshy dark berry flavors gain freshness with air and pick up notes of allspice and candied rose. Manages to be both rich and lively, finishing with excellent energy and lingering spiciness. This really hangs onto the palate. Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2007 Hanzell "Ambassador's 1953 Vineyard" Sonoma Valley Pinot Noir (93WE, 91BH, 90WS). Wine Enthusiast: "***Cellar Selection*** Hews to the Hanzell style, which is almost old-fashioned in this age of ripely opulent Pinot Noirs. This one's tight as a drum in tannins and acids, a quivery, nervously wound wine. Yet it's quite rich and complex, with a tapestry of cherry, red licorice, tobacco, Canadian bacon, dusty Indian spice and buttered toast flavors. Needs 7–8 years in the cellar, and, based on tastings of very old Hanzell, should slowly unfold through the 2020s." (05/2011)
