2012 Alain Hudelot-Noellat Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru "Les Suchots"
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2012 Alain Hudelot-Noellat Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru "Les Suchots" ((89-91RP), 91VN, 90BH). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Vosne-Romanee 1er Cru Les Suchots comes from a 0.45-hectare holding planted back in 1920. It has a slightly muted nose out of barrel, but it unfurls revealing earthy, mossy scents with aeration. The palate is clean and fresh, but somehow foursquare and a little conservative compared to some of the domaine’s other premier crus. You get the impression that this Les Suchots is hiding something up its sleeve, whereas this vineyard is habitually one of the most expressive in its youth. (NM)" (12/2013)

Bid on this bottle of 1996 DRC Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Romanée-St-Vivant Grand Cru (95WS, 93RP, 92BH, 92ST). Wine Spectator: "Gentle at first, offering rose petal aromas, it turns quite savage and tough on the palate, with loads of fruit cloaked in the very firm tannin structure. The acidity is there, and the length is terrific, but it needs time. Best from 2006 through 2026. (PM)" (09/1999)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2006 Domaine Armand Rousseau Ruchottes-Chambertin Grand Cru "Clos des Ruchottes" (92BH, 91ST, 90RP). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A background touch of wood spice sets off the cool and almost aloof but highly refined aromas of truffle, mineral, floral hints and red pinot fruit that merge seamlessly into precise, intense and tautly muscled medium full flavors that deliver excellent depth and length. This is really a lovely effort as the balance is impeccable." (01/2009)

1996 Domaine Michel Lafarge Volnay 1er Cru "Clos des Chenes"
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 1996 Domaine Michel Lafarge Volnay 1er Cru "Clos des Chenes" (93RP, 92BH, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted at the Clos des Chênes vertical in London, the 1996 Volnay 1er Cru Clos des Chênes is one of the more successful wines of what turned out to be an unpredictable vintage. Now approaching two decades in age, it has come into its own with an exuberant bouquet: wild raspberry, scorched earth, red plum and cold limestone scents that all leap from the glass whilw maintaining their delineation. The palate is medium-bodied, fresh and linear - "correct" you might say and yet with disarming focus and vigor. It segues into a masculine, tobacco finish that echoes the Médoc in a strange way, and one is left with the overall impression that this 1996 could benefit from further bottle age. What an excellent wine from Michel and Frédéric Lafarge. (NM)" (03/2016)

2011 Kosta Browne Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2011 Kosta Browne Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (92VN, 90CG, 90ST, 90WS). Vinous: "The 2011 Pinot Noir (Sonoma Coast) has a bit of a darker toned than the Russian River bottling, and also firmer in its tannin. Plum, black cherry, menthol, tobacco and licorice meld together gracefully as the 2011 opens up in the glass. The combination of fruit and structure is compelling. This is a fabulous appellation-level Pinot, due in part to the vineyard blend, which in 2011 includes 40% fruit from Gap's Crown, along with Terra del Promissio and Walala. (AG)" (02/2014)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2011 Domaine de Montille Nuits-St.-Georges 1er Cru "Aux Thorey" ((89-92BH)). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Here the presence of the stems is quite noticeable with a green tea and floral character along with spice and red berry fruit nuances. There is a more refined mouth feel to the muscular middle weight flavors that exude a very fine minerality on the firm and ever-so-mildly rustic finish. This is pretty if not profound." (04/2013)

Of the 2009 Peter Michael "Clos du Ciel" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "From the Sonoma Coast vineyard with the most southerly exposure, the 2009 Pinot Noir Clos de Ciel (365 cases) was aged in 50% to 60% new Francois Freres barrels, and underwent a 5 to 7-day cold pre-fermentation maceration. Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2010 Domaine Robert Chevillon Nuits-St-Georges 1er Cru "Les Vaucrains" ((94-96RP), 94BH, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: " The 2010 Nuits St. Georges Les Vaucrains is one of the more delicate wines next to some of the other 2010s. It shows gorgeous fleshiness in its layers of dark red fruit, spices and flowers. The Vaucrains is all about textural elegance and volume. The sensual finish makes this very hard to spit. Today the Vaucrains comes across as silkier and more finessed than the St. Georges, suggesting it may come around a bit earlier. That may also just be wishful thinking on my part. We will see. This is another breathtaking wine from the Chevillon brothers. Anticipated maturity: 2020-2025. (AG)" (02/2012)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The awesome, black ruby-colored 1999 Pinot Noir East Block reveals an extravagant bouquet of black raspberries, cherry liqueur, and vanillin. Picked ripe, but with no sense of pruniness or hotness, this massive, full-bodied, unctuously-textured Pinot Noir is fabulously concentrated as well as beautifully balanced. The wine is low in acidity, but well-delineated and extremely fresh and lively. It should drink well for at least a decade. " (12/2000)

Plump red cherries, plums, cinnamon and rose petals meld together in a racy, effortless Pinot built on texture and nuance. Beams of acidity and minerality give the 2013 much of its energy and delineation. This is a great introduction to the wines of the property. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Black fruits are interspersed with licorice and earth in the nose of the medium to full-bodied 2002 Chambertin Clos de Beze. This concentrated, deep, noble wine is crammed with perfectly ripe fruit and tannin. Loads of blackberries, licorice, plums, black cherries, stones, and flowers can be discerned in its complex flavor profile. Its finish, described in my notes as 'completely unreal,' is exceedingly long, fruit-filled, and suave. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1996 Rene Engel Vosne-Romanee 1er Cru "Les Brulees" . 89-92 points Pierre Rovani writing for the Wine Advocate: "Revealing a medium-to-dark ruby color and aromas reminiscent of stones and spices drenched in raspberry juice, this wine has superb density on the palate as well as a silky texture and medium-to-full body. This complex, gorgeously ripe, and harmonious wine is filled with cherries, blueberries, earth tones, Asian spices, and a dash of freshly cracked pepper. Anticipated maturity: 1999-2007." (08/98) 90 points Wine Spectator: "Dark in color, succulently intense with pure, clean blackberry, violet and cassis notes, this tightens on the midpalate, with a crisp texture on the lingering finish. Extremely rich, full bodied, and awesomely proportioned, this heroic wine should be drunk from the late nineties through the first two decades of the twenty-first century. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The new, dedicated Lafarge bottling of 2005 Volnay Mitans also displays exotic florality and faintly bitter citrus zest and fruit pit character to accompany its ripe but tart cherry and red currant fruit. A rich meat broth character and subtle minerality add depth and complexity on the palate, and this finishes with fine tannins and multi-registered fruit, meat and mineral notes. (DS)" (06/2007)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2008 Arnoux (Lachaux) Romanée-St-Vivant Grand Cru (95RP, 94BH, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Naturally Lachaux’s 2008 Romanee Saint-Vivant bats last in the Arnoux line-up, but in addition, this vintage it puts every wine that came before it in the collection into perspective, and all but the Reignots in the shade (not that as a group these weren’t already noir enough Pinots). Sumptuous black fruits accented by fruit pit piquancy; complex if to some extent ineffable, decadent forest floor and mineral notes; exotic spices, rich chocolate, and heady floral perfume – all are on display in this seamlessly-rich, already velvet-textured beauty whose structure is implicit but deeply-buried. Yet there is not an ounce of superfluous fat or a bit of superficial sweetness, and there is that vibratory resonance possessed by the exceptional wines of this vintage. There are around 140 cases of this – not a small quantity by the standards of top-notch grand cru Bur

Rich, powerful and explosive, the 2012 Bonnes-Mares is a gripping Burgundy that takes hold of all the senses. Layers of flavor seem to fill out in all directions. Cool veins of minerality give the blue and black toned fruit a sense of cool, invigorating energy that is hugely appealing. The 2012 was vinified with 80% whole clusters and is aging in 80% new oak. A moderately oaked nose of red and black Pinot fruit nuanced by ample earth and sauvage notes that continue onto the notably sweet, full and concentrated flavors supported by firm and dusty tannin on the youthfully austere finish. Bid on this bottle of 1999 Domaine Emmanuel Rouget Echézeaux Grand Cru (94BH, 91WS, 90ST). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "The heavy wood spice that dominated the concentrated black fruit from cask has now largely, if not completely, been absorbed and leads to round, sexy, seductive, earthy, nicely rich and detailed flavors of excellent intensity and fine length. This is still relatively primary though the depth is slowly emerging and while it will undoubtedly be a long term cellar candidate, it should be close to its majority in another 7 to 10 years. Note that I have upgraded my view of this wine considerably as I was not at all sure that it could successfully integrate this much wood but indeed it has. Lovely subtle perfume of cherry and raspberry liqueur lifted by a peppery element. Sweet, dense and lively but restrained on the palate, with distinctly dark flavors of blueberry, licorice and bitter chocolate. The brooding finish features broad, palate-coating tannins. If one considers the total production of all the Peter Michael cuvées (which must be approaching 30,000 cases) and the diversity of their wines, including six cuvées of Chardonnay, four of Pinot Noir, three Bordeaux blends, and lastly Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon, Peter Michael Winery may be the best-run winery of its size for world-class quality. There has been a succession of brilliant minds and craftspeople who have gone through these doors, from the early days with Helen Turley and Mark Aubert, to Luc Morlet and now his brother, Nicolas Morlet

2007 Kistler "Cuvée Elizabeth Bodega Headlands Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Bid on this bottle of 2007 Kistler "Cuvée Elizabeth Bodega Headlands Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir ((96-98RP), 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Sweet black raspberries, camphor, and forest floor notes intermixed with a cocktail of spring flowers all jump from the glass of this full-bodied, gorgeously proportioned, rich wine that is about as compelling as California Pinot Noir is capable of being. It has a Burgundy-like structure, but its great purity of fruit and dazzling texture and length are awesome. This wine should drink well young but hit its stride in 5-6 years and last for 15-20 years." Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Previously recommended, no tastng note given." (02/2010)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2002 Louis Jadot Bonnes Mares Grand Cru ((97-99RP), 95ST, (92-94BH)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Armed with huge quantities of fruit and perfectly ripened tannin, the medium to full-bodied 2002 Bonnes Mares explodes from the glass with stunning aromas of candied blueberries, rocks, and red cherries. This massive, broad, enormously rich wine could ultimately, like the Chapelle and Clos de Beze, earn a perfect score. Its velvety waves of sensual red and black fruits are interspersed with nuanced notes of spices, mocha, flowers, and minerals. While enormously powerful and ripe, it magically retains its freshness and sports an ethereal quality that is difficult to put into words. It is a tour de force in winemaking! Wine Spectator: "Ripe and balanced, offering wet earth, mineral, smoke and red berry complexity, this is superbly intense on the finish, with a round, velvety mouthfeel. Grows on you as it kicks into high gear, rockets to a beautiful finish. This grand cru from Jean-Nicolas Méo tastes sweeter and more hedonistic than his minerally Clos de Vougeot, but both get the same classic rating. (PM)" (09/1998)

1999 Bertrand Ambroise Corton Grand Cru "Le Rognet"
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 1999 Bertrand Ambroise Corton Grand Cru "Le Rognet" ((94-97RP), 92ST, 91BH). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The intense, black-colored 1999 Corton Le Rognet reveals black fruit, fresh herb, and Asian spice aromas. Ambroise generally produces 32 hectoliters per hectare from his 0.7 hectares of vines in this grand cru. In 1999, however, he harvested 40 hectoliters per hectare at 14.5% natural potential alcohol. This is a monster of a wine, crammed with blackberries, road tar, cherries, kirsch, and a myriad of spices. Its loads of exquisitely ripened tannins are soaked in sweet, candied fruits. This powerful, chewy offering coats the taster's palate and lasts for almost a minute. It is, at present, unformed, yet will become civilized with cellaring. (PR)" (06/2001)

1999 Domaine Anne Gros Richebourg Grand Cru
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1999 Domaine Anne Gros Richebourg Grand Cru (96RP, 94BH, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Here is another great wine from Anne Gros, which will reward those with the patience and nouse to cellar for an extended period. The 1999 Richebourg Grand Cru is backward and reticent on the nose, but it only takes a few swirls of the glass and it reveals gorgeous black cherry and raspberry fruit mixed with a hint of dark chocolate from some residual new oak that will be subsumed. The palate is medium-bodied with fine acidity. There is a smorgasbord of lush raspberry and wild strawberry fruit cloaked in new oak, but the wood does not obscure the grape variety or vineyard, allowing the character of the wine to be expressed with hints of white pepper sprinkled over the finish. What a great Richebourg, but one that I would actually afford another five years in the cellar. This is long-term. (NM)" (11/2015)

1999 Domaine Cathiard Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru "Aux Malconsorts"
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1999 Domaine Cathiard Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru "Aux Malconsorts" (94BH). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Though there are some mature notes in evidence, the expressive nose is still relatively primary with wonderfully spicy yet subtle aromas of black fruit, hoisin and soy that give way to rich, seductive flavors that are supported by rounded and ripe tannins, all wrapped in a gorgeously complex and highly persistent finish. While this could certainly be enjoyed now, for my taste I would suggest continuing to hold for a few more years. Either way, this is a very special Malconsorts that should continue to impress for many years to come. In a word, terrific." (07/2013)

1999 Domaine Cathiard Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru "Les Suchots"
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 1999 Domaine Cathiard Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru "Les Suchots". Cilve Coates ranks the Suchots climat as grand cru quality, saying: "Les Suchots occupies a flattenned egg sort of mound between Richebourg and Romanée-Saint-Vivant, and Echézeaux, and is the largest of the Vosne-Romanée premiers crus. There are just over 13 hectares. This is the most noble of all the first growths. In the best hands we really do get grand cru quality. The wine is full bodied, less lush than Brulées, less finely spirited (in a racehorse sense) than Beaumonts, but of great breeding nonetheless." He also recommends Domaine Cathiard as one to seek out.

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1999 Domaine Comte de Vogüé Musigny Grand Cru Vieilles Vignes (96BH, 95ST, 93WS, (90-92RP)). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "In contrast to the general style of the vintage, this is still aromatically austere though with coaxing, reveals wonderfully complex aromas of a simply incredible array of black fruits, earth, spice, crushed herbs and notes of chocolate with flavors that are huge but fine, powerful but subtle and rich yet detailed with a stupendously long finish that offers intense minerality. This is genuinely stunning juice and not to be missed if you have the chance. Tasted multiple times with consistent notes save for one recent bottle that displayed a lot of volatile acidity that may have been due to a faulty cork." (09/2012)

2013 Aubert "UV Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2013 Aubert "UV Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (96RP, 94VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The rich, prodigious, full-bodied 2013 Pinot Noir UV, made from the Calera and Vosne-Romanée clones, is a denser, richer wine offering abundant notes of blueberries, blackberries, forest floor and strong hints of Asian hoisin sauce, dark fruits and forest floor. There are approximately 1,000 cases of this sensational Pinot, which Mark Aubert decanted 12 hours in advance of my visit. There is not a trace of new oak in this wine, which spent 10 months in 100% new barrels. Like all the 2013 Pinot Noirs, it has a decade or more of aging potential." (12/2014)
