2004 Aubert "UV Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Bid on this bottle of 2004 Aubert "UV Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (97RP, 94WS, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The amazing 2004 Pinot Noir UV Vineyard, made from the Calera clone of Pinot Noir, is named after Aubert's superb viticultural manager, Ulises Valdez. This Sonoma Coast vineyard has produced a prodigious wine exhibiting gorgeous aromas of blueberries, black raspberries, plums, forest floor, and violets. Full-bodied with superb underlying acidity, layers of texture and richness yet unbelievably surreal and light on the palate, this stunning wine can be consumed over the next decade." (12/2006)

Sexy, understated aromas of raspberry, cherry and candied rose, with a spicy overtone. Suave and seamless on the palate, with good depth to its red fruit and spice flavors. Gentle tannins add grip to the long, spicy, focused finish. No way that I'd have guessed this wine came from a warm area. (JR)" (11/2011)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2008 Kistler "Cuvée Catherine - Occidental Station" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (95RP, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The backward, tight, but super-rich 2008 Pinot Noir Occidental Station Cuvee Catherine has put on considerable weight over the last year. 2005 La Pousse d'Or Volnay 1er Cru "Clos des 60 Ouvrées"
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2005 La Pousse d'Or Volnay 1er Cru "Clos des 60 Ouvrées" ((92-94BH), 94RP, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2005 Volnay Caillerets Clos des 60 Ouvrees (like the Clos d’Audinac and Clos de la Bousse d’Or, a monopole) features the oldest vines in the estate’s Volnay holdings, more than half of them planted in the mid fifties. Black cherry, purple plum, pistachio, ginger, and cumin inform the nose. On the palate this offers old vines creaminess, flattering glycerin, and yet also a persistently bright freshness of black fruits. A deep, lingering, faintly caramel-inflected bitter-sweetness, spice, and chalk further testifies to the concentration in this wine, which surpasses the Bousse d’Or in structure and gives it a hard run for its money in the charm department. Check on this in 8-10 years but then figure on another decade of improvement in the cellar. (DS)" (04/2007)

2001 Domaine Dujac Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2001 Domaine Dujac Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru (93BH, 92ST). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Austere, backward and brooding nose of red and black fruit, crushed herbs and a touch of earth and leather with full, complex, driving, muscular and very powerful flavors that are more linear and direct in character than either the Clos de la Roche or the Echézeaux and possess outstanding persistence. This is solidly structured yet not hard but it will require every bit of a decade to begin drinking well and it should age gracefully for years. In a word, gorgeous." (01/2004)

Vinous: "Remarkably balanced for such a young wine, the 2011 Chambertin flows across the palate with magnificent depth and balance. There is virtually no sensation of tannin at all, while the flavors are remarkably pure and delineated. Dark red stone fruits, wild flowers and spices are some of the many notes that inform the finish in this silky, utterly dazzling Burgundy. Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2008 Domaine Fourrier Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru "Gruenchers" Vieille Vigne ((89-91BH), 91ST). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good medium red. Sappy aromas of raspberry, blueberry and stone lifted by violet and dried rose. Very rich and sweet but with lovely mineral energy and a sound core of acidity. Sappy but not quite peppery. For all its fruit, this concentrated, very long wine finishes with exhilarating saline soil tones. (ST)" (03/2011)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2009 DRC Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Corton Grand Cru (94BH, (91-94RP), 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Corton, here in its first vintage, is a wine that has very high expectations pinned on it for a number of reasons, not the least of which is the prestige the Domaine is sure to bring to the appellation following its recent purchase of three vineyards in Corton. It shows a rich core of dark red fruit that powers through to the finish with tons of authority and concentration. The Corton is a solid wine from start to finish, but it also possesses beautifully delineated aromatics and tons of potential. This will be a fascinating wine to follow over the coming years. The early accessibility that defines some of the Domaine's other -entry-level- wines is nowhere to be found, however, so readers will need to be patient. The Corton is a blend of parcels in Clos du Roi, Bressandes and Renardes. The old-vine fruit from all three vineyards is harveste

2002 Domaine Truchot-Martin Clos de la Roche Grand Cru Vieilles Vignes
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2002 Domaine Truchot-Martin Clos de la Roche Grand Cru Vieilles Vignes (97RP, (90-92BH)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Bottles of Truchot are achieving posthumous acclaim and this 2002 Clos de la Roche demonstrates exactly why. The bouquet is everything you could wish for in a bottle of Burgundy: ethereal rose-petal- tinged red berry fruit (sloe, boysenberry and mulberry), almost Vosne-like in personality and blossoming in the glass. The aromatics are so beguiling that they demur you from actually drinking it. But the palate does not disappoint: exquisite balance, weightless intensity, a bewitching crescendo of flavors, tarry mulberry fruit interlaced with seaweed and fennel, leading to a bravura finish. Utterly stupendous. (NM)" (10/2014)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The tangy cherry, Asian spice, and hoisin sauce-scented 1999 Griotte-Chambertin is medium to dark ruby-colored. This silky-textured beauty is loaded with creamed cherries, blackberry syrup, spices, and vanilla. It is fresh, focused, sexy, yet well-structured. Deep ruby/purple with crushed raspberries, violets, Chinese black tea, and chalky, almost wet stone-like notes, the wine is rich, full-bodied, multi-dimensional, with superb depth and length, and a remarkable finish. 2010 Domaine Tollot-Beaut Chorey-lès-Beaune "Pièce du Chapitre"
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2010 Domaine Tollot-Beaut Chorey-lès-Beaune "Pièce du Chapitre". Allen Meadows of Burghound.com spoke with Nathalie Tollot about the 2010 vintage, who said it was an "excellent vintage that started poorly but ended well. We experienced a lousy flowering that seriously affected yields and then mediocre summer weather, but the good news is that the small crop is what enabled the fruit to attain such an ideal level of ripeness, which would have never happened otherwise. We were down between 25 and 30% depending on the vineyard in question. Sugars were strong at between 12.5 and 13.5% so almost nothing was chaptalized. The fruit was very clean and we had no issues with either fermentation. Overall, I love the vintage and prefer it to 2009 as I like the freshness and verve plus the wines have that clean and refreshing mouth feel."

Sappy red cherry, raspberry, minerals and crushed stone on the nose; more pristine than the Cherbaudes. Then suave and juicy in the mouth, with terrific cut and purity to the tangy red berry and mineral flavors. Penetrating and powerful yet at the same time elegant. 1999 Domaine Armand Rousseau Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru
Bid on this bottle of 1999 Domaine Armand Rousseau Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru (97BH, (92-95RP), 94ST). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "The '99 Bèze just continues to get better and better with every passing year. A flat out gorgeously complex nose is comprised by spice, earth, minerality and still fresh red and black pinot fruit aromas. There is excellent richness to the intense and beautifully well-delineated medium-bodied flavors that are blessed with plenty of mouth coating dry extract that confers a seductive texture onto the strikingly persistent finish. Like the '99 Chambertin, while this could be drunk now I would strongly advise holding it for at least another 5 years and 10 would probably be better. Tasted many times and this only seems to go from strength to strength. In a word, exquisite. Tasted twice in 2016 with multiple and consistent notes since release. Try from 2014+." (06/2016)

Of the 2013 Aubert "UV Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "The rich, prodigious, full-bodied 2013 Pinot Noir UV, made from the Calera and Vosne-Romanée clones, is a denser, richer wine offering abundant notes of blueberries, blackberries, forest floor and strong hints of Asian hoisin sauce, dark fruits and forest floor. There are approximately 1,000 cases of this sensational Pinot, which Mark Aubert decanted 12 hours in advance of my visit. There is not a trace of new oak in this wine, which spent 10 months in 100% new barrels. Like all the 2013 Pinot Noirs, it has a decade or more of aging potential." (12/2014)

It is a big, concentrated Pinot Noir that makes a mockery of all the over-cropped Pinots that are promoted as "authentic expressions of terroir," when in fact, they are made from over-cropped vineyards and prey on those not familiar with what top-flight Pinot Noirs should taste like. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Pinot Noir Bodega Headlands Cuvee Elizabeth comes across as a bit firmer and less expressive than the Cuvee Catherine. There is a salty, saline quality that runs through the fruit in this powerful, structured wine. Waves of fruit crescendo on the explosive finish. This is a dazzling Pinot Noir, but it will require at least another year or two in bottle to reveal its pedigree. I loved it. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2021. (AG)" (02/2012)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2001 Domaine du Vicomte Liger-Belair Vosne Romanée "Clos du Chateau". Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted at the Comte Liger-Belair vertical at the Château de Vosne. The 2001 Vosne-Romanée Clos du Château is fully mature in colour with light bricking on the rim. The bouquet has retained more fruité that the debut 2000 with light cranberry and tomato-vine scents, soft with delicate rose-petal scents. The palate is medium-bodied with a slightly austere opening, a little spicy, easy-drinking in style but with more matière than the millennial offering. This deserves a light pat on the back. (NM)"

1988 Domaine Thomas-Moillard Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 1988 Domaine Thomas-Moillard Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru. The records from the town of Nuits-Saint-Georges confirm that the Moillard family owned vineyards there before the French Revolution. But it wasn't until 1850 that the first train on the new Paris-Lyon line brought a Belgian notary to Nuits. He became the first client of Symphorien Moillard and encouraged him to become a wine merchant. In effect, he was asking him to select and age other regional wines besides those of his own estate. So, you can see, these folks have been in the negociant business for a bit!

2009 Marcassin "Marcassin Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Bid on this bottle of 2009 Marcassin "Marcassin Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (98RP, 97WS, 92VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Pinot Noir Marcassin Vineyard is a gorgeous, clearly California version of a grand cru from Burgundy, such as Clos Saint-Denis or Clos de la Roche. This deep plum/garnet-colored wine offers intense berry fruit along with forest floor, spice box, earth and loads of plum, cherry and strawberry notes, moving toward darker fruits, as well as earthy, autumnal, foresty scents. The wine is full-bodied, with great intensity, sweet tannins and good acidity. Drink it over the next decade or more. (RP)" (08/2015)

Bid on this magnum of 2002 Peter Michael "Le Moulin Rouge" Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir (1.5 L) (92ST, 91RP). 91 points Robert Parker: "The 2002 Pinot Noir Le Moulin Rouge (325 cases) displays the same floral characteristics as the 2001 along with striking elegance. Although more superficial on the palate, without the depth and power of the 2001, it is still an elegant, complex beauty that should drink well for 5-6 years. P.S. For those who have them in the bottle, the final ratings for the 2002 Chardonnays are as follows: Belle Cote (96), La Carriere (97), Cuvee Indigene (95), Ma Belle Fille (96), Mon Plaisir (94), and Point Rouge (98)." (02/05) 92(+?) points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "(aged in 50% new and 50% once-used barrels) Good bright ruby-red. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2006 Pinot Noir Bodega Headlands Cuvee Elizabeth is undeniably a grand cru effort. Black raspberry, spring flower (violets), and kirsch aromas soar from the glass of this dark ruby/purple-tinged wine. Medium to full-bodied with zesty acidity, beautiful penetration, and a soaring mid-palate as well as length result in a prodigious example of Pinot Noir that should drink well for a decade or more. 2007 Marcassin "Marcassin Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Bid on this bottle of 2007 Marcassin "Marcassin Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (98RP, 96WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I had always believed the 2007 Pinot Noir was the finest Helen Turley and John Wetlaufer had produced at their Estate Vineyard, but after doing this vertical and seeing the performances of the 1998, 2002 and 2004, that belief rings somewhat hollow. The still young, incredible 2007 has all the potential needed to achieve a three-digit rating in a few years. A dense plum/purple color is followed by notes of subtle smoke, barbecue spice, blueberries, red and black currants, flowers, and a smoky meat-like character that I first compared to the aroma of Peking duck. There is something exotic about this full-bodied, dense 2007. Young and vibrant, it should hit its peak in 5-6 years, and last until 2030-2035. This world-class, prodigious Pinot Noir is probably better than 90% of the red Burgundies being produced. 98+ (RP)" (06/2014)

In 2010 and 2011, the Hammonds made a conscious effort to pull back vigor and the resulting wines are more fruit forward. With time in the glass it offers subtle forest floor and damp soil scents that merely add to its complexity. The palate is medium-bodied with filigree tannins and exquisite balance. Highly-focused blackberries, violets, lilies, stones, earth, and cassis flavors are intermingled with grilled and spiced new oak.
