2012 Occidental (Kistler) "Bodegas Headlands--Cuvee Elizabeth" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2012 Occidental (Kistler) "Bodegas Headlands--Cuvee Elizabeth" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (98RP, 97VN, 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "As good as the Cuvée Catherine is, there is another Occidental Pinot that is profound. There are 2,000 cases of the 2012 Pinot Noir Bodega Headlands Cuvée Elizabeth. This wine reminded me of my earlier days in Burgundy tasting the Grand Cru Musigny. Incredible floral notes, sweet raspberries and blueberries as well as wet rocks soar from the glass of this profound, medium to full-bodied, gorgeous Pinot Noir made from 100% Calera clone. Stunning ripeness, great acids, and terrific delineation are all present in this super-intense, fragrant, modern classic from Steve Kistler. It should drink well for at least a decade, possibly a lot longer. (RP)" (01/2015)

2013 Rhys "Family Farm Vineyard" San Mateo County Pinot Noir
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2013 Rhys "Family Farm Vineyard" San Mateo County Pinot Noir (93VN). Vinous: "The 2013 Pinot Noir Family Farm Vineyard comes across as dense, powerful and meaty, with notable intensity and a huge center of fruit, much of that an expression of these clay-rich soils. Smoke, game, dried flowers, tobacco and licorice add nuance as this virile, imposing Pinot shows off its personality. Hints of game and chalkiness impart a Volnay-like edge to the finish. There is a generosity to the 2013 that is impossible to miss. (AG)" (07/2015)

Of the 2007 Bouchard Père et Fils Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru,Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar writes: "Good full red. Flamboyant, soil-inflected nose offers raspberry, minerals and iodine, with exotic suggestions of white flowers and apricot. Then lush, silky and utterly seamless, combining an exotic perfume with great inner-mouth energy. The wonderfully subtle, kaleidoscopic finish throws off scents of raspberry, minerals, flowers and minerals and goes on and on. " (04/2010)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2007 Domaine Maume Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru (90BH). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Traces of crushed herbs and cassis add depth to the spicy and elegant yet sauvage nose, which is admittedly an interesting contrast in character. The rich, full and intense flavors offer good if not exceptional size and weight though there is a taut muscularity to the mineral suffused finish that coats and stains the palate. (AM)" (07/2010)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2011 Domaine Claude Dugat Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru ((91-93VN), (89-92BH), 90RP). Vinous: "Tar, smoke, licorice and incense are some of the many notes that burst from the 2011 Gevrey-Chambertin. A rich, exuberant wine, the 1er is beautifully layered from start to finish. White pepper and cloves add an exotic upper register to the rich, dark blue/purplish fruit in an intense, palate-staining Gevrey bursting with personality. This is an utterly impeccable wine from Bernard Dugat. The 1er Cru is a blend of fruit from Fontenys, Corbeaux and Perrieres. The 2011 was done with 67% whole clusters and aged in 100% new French oak. " (03/2014)

Extravagant aromas of currant, strawberry, dried flowers, pepper, minerals and spicy oak. Very concentrated and dense, with an almost salty impression of extract. A minerally, sappy wine with very firm acids and an impressively large structure. Big, chewy, tannic finish calls for extended bottle aging. Offers terrific grip and style." (03/2002)

This is a classic Bressandes that blends volume, power and refinement. This too is exquisite juice." (04/2010)

Candied raspberry, blood orange, peony, crushed stone and white pepper; a real essence of Musigny. Like liquid silk on the palate, offering an uncanny combination of sweetness and energy. Totally primary today yet even more showy than the Amoureuses. The tactile, high-pitched flavors of pomegranate, citrus peel and flowers carry through on the explosive aftertaste. It's nearly impossible to scrape this elixir off the palate. (AG)" (02/2012)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2010 Domaine de Montille Pommard 1er Cru "Les Grands Epenots" ((92-94BH)). Allen Meadows - Burghound: " *Sweet Spot Outstanding* A relatively high-toned nose of warm iron-infused earth, lavender and cool red pinot fruit leads to round, rich and muscular medium-bodied flavors that possess excellent volume but also impressive precision. The mouth feel is also cool and restrained before culminating in a balanced, linear and austere finish. This is also anything but precocious and will need a long cellar snooze but it's ready for prime time." (04/2012)

Bid on this bottle of 1993 Georges Roumier Chambolle Musigny 1er Cru Les Amoureuses (96BH). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A high-toned, expressive and highly spiced nose that carries a hint of sandalwood over to the delicious, mouth coating and serious medium plus weight flavors that possess superb detail and ample underlying minerality on the driving, palate staining and impeccably well-balanced finish. This is a truly stunning effort that has arrived at a point where, with 30 minutes of aeration, it could be enjoyed now but I emphasize that there is sufficient structure remaining that it will last for another 30 years, perhaps longer as there is an underlying reserve of material and vivacity that will ensure an exceptionally long life. Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This is really singing and offers a lovely aromatic profile of the vestiges of spicy red Pinot fruit with fully mature notes (but no sous bois) that lead to vibrant, pure, precise and balanced flavors that culminate in a long, sweet and seductive finish. Given how most '69s are in decline at this point, the quality and vibrancy here is impressive as this bottle displayed absolutely no signs of decline. Floral and lifted on the outset, the 2012 shows remarkable energy through the mid-palate and finish, with gorgeous density and plenty of punch. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Pommard Les Pezerolles is rich, round and seductive. Layers of fruit caress the palate in this enveloping, textured Burgundy. There is plenty of intensity in the glass. Hints of hard candy and licorice wrap around the finish. The Pezerolles was made with 100% destemmed fruit. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2011 Kosta Browne Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (92VN, 90CG, 90ST, 90WS). Vinous: "The 2011 Pinot Noir (Sonoma Coast) has a bit of a darker toned than the Russian River bottling, and also firmer in its tannin. Plum, black cherry, menthol, tobacco and licorice meld together gracefully as the 2011 opens up in the glass. The combination of fruit and structure is compelling. This is a fabulous appellation-level Pinot, due in part to the vineyard blend, which in 2011 includes 40% fruit from Gap's Crown, along with Terra del Promissio and Walala. (AG)" (02/2014)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2011 Occidental (Kistler) "Bodegas Headlands - Cuvee Elizabeth" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (97VN, 95RP, 94ST). Vinous: "Whereas the Cuvée Catherine is built on fruit, the 2011 Pinot Noir Bodega Headlands Cuvée Elizabeth is a much more inward, structured wine. Here the flavors are bright, precise and endowed with considerable energy. Cranberry, pomegranate, crushed rocks, rose petals and savory herbs are all supported by veins of underlying acidity and minerality that should allow the 2011 to develop beautifully in bottle. All of the 2011 Pinots have really blossomed over the last year, but none to the extent of the Cuvée Elizabeth, which today is stunning. (AG)" (02/2014)

Knockout nose combines red and dark fruits, menthol and smoky minerality, with exhilarating high notes of floral and spice oils. Began equally complex and powerfully mineral-driven in the mouth, with superb focus and energy to its dense flavors, but quickly went into a shell in the glass. Silky and sweet, if rather unforthcoming in the middle palate; offers great concentration and a near perfect sugar/acid balance. Firm tannins are covered by fruit. Great whiplash of a finish. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2008 Gevrey-Chambertin Clos St. Jacques opens with an explosive bouquet. The wine turns decidedly more elegant and ethereal on the palate. The Clos St. Jacques comes across as more ethereal than the Cazetiers. It is a texturally brilliant wine, with a sweet, sensual finish and an utterly refined personality. (AG)" (05/2011)

2007 Domaine du Comte Liger-Belair Vosne-Romanee 1er Cru "Aux Reignots" (OWC)
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2007 Domaine du Comte Liger-Belair Vosne-Romanee 1er Cru "Aux Reignots" (OWC - 95RP, 93BH, 93ST) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted at the Comte Liger-Belair vertical at the Château de Vosne. The 2007 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Aux Reignots has a more refined and complex bouquet than the 2006: red plum, wild strawberries, heightened mineralité and wonderful delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with raspberry coulis and fresh strawberry on the entry, filigree tannin and wonderfully judged acidity. This feels like the first vintage of Aux Reignots that Louis-Michel really nailed - a beautiful wine that is actually drinking now, but will age over the next couple of decades and more. 2011 Domaine Marquis d'Angerville Volnay 1er Cru "Clos des Ducs" (OWC)
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2011 Domaine Marquis d'Angerville Volnay 1er Cru "Clos des Ducs" (OWC - 93ST, 93VN, 91BH, 91RP) in original wood. Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Palish bright red. Highly perfumed nose combines redcurrant, cherry, smoky minerals and faded flowers, complicated by earth and caramel nuances. Taut and juicy in the mouth, with a tightly coiled spring of pungent minerality energizing the youthful flavors of ripe cherry, redcurrant, smoke and spices. Much less creamy than the Champans, with a saline calcaire element giving the mid-palate uncanny detail. Finishes sweet, subtle and long, with utterly seamless, fine-grained tannins. With its firm tannins and strong minerality, this should make a great dinner companion--but give it at least six or seven years in the cellar. (ST)" (03/2014)

Allen Meadows - Burghound: " *Outstanding* This too is very Vosne in basic character with mild wood influence as well on the wonderfully spicy, cooler and more elegant blue and black berry fruit aromas cut with plenty of mineral influence that carries over to the rich, intense and vibrant middle weight flavors that are given shape and firmness by the fine tannins, all wrapped in a long finish that displays an abundance of underlying tension." 2005 Domaine Bouchard Père et Fils Clos Vougeot Grand Cru
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2005 Domaine Bouchard Père et Fils Clos Vougeot Grand Cru ((93-96BH), (91-94ST), (89-91RP)). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "*Don't miss!* Note that I was shown two versions of this wine, one from Domaine fruit and another that was purchased. Prost indicated that there might be two wines released or they might be blended. The wine reviewed here is from Domaine fruit and was significantly better than the purchased example. A ripe, reserved and cool nose of flat out gorgeous complexity leads to beautifully delineated, powerful and robust flavors that somehow manage to remain understated on the hugely long and spicy finish. This has the 'wow' factor in spades and is a strong candidate for the Clos de Vougeot of the vintage (along with the Leroy and Dr. George Mugneret versions). Drink: 2020+" (04/2007)

Wine Enthusiast: " *Cellar Selection* Big and tannic, while at the same time potentially rich and smooth, this is, as always, an impressive wine. It has weight and dense texture. A solid wine that shows great potential; for now, revel in the plum juice and final acidity that provide a bright counterpoint to the solid, brooding structure." (12/2010)

Of the 2008 Williams Selyem "Vista Verde" San Benito County Pinot Noir,Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar writes: "Full red. Complex, heady aromas of black raspberry, mocha, incense, smoky minerals and dried flowers. Rich and lush on entry, then sappy and juicy in the middle, with terrific mineral and floral lift to its sweet dark berry and spicecake flavors. Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2005 Domaine Faiveley Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru "Combe d'Orveau" ((91-93BH)). Sweet Spot Outstanding! and 91-93 Points from Allen Meadows: "Moderate wood frames a classy and very densely fruited nose that mixes soy, clove and anise notes together with violet and blue and black berry aromas that continue onto the sappy, exuberant and relatively powerful flavors that coat the mouth on the linear and driving finish. Despite the punch and vibrancy, this is essentially a wine of finesse and nuance rather than structure and muscle." (Burghound 01/07)

1996 Maison Roche de Bellene Latricières-Chambertin Grand Cru "Collection Bellenum"
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1996 Maison Roche de Bellene Latricières-Chambertin Grand Cru "Collection Bellenum". Nicolas Potel began making wine at his family estate, Domaine de la Pousse d'Or, then started his own negociant company in 1996. Says Jancis Robinson: "With a popular and respected wine producer for a father and a notable taster for a mother, Nicolas grew up with a keen sensibility for wine and an enviable network of contacts the length of the Côte d'Or...I've now had two chances to taste wines from this unique collection of wines that have moved only once in their lives, from the original cellar to Potels...I'd say they magnificently reflect the reality of Burgundy in that they are very varied, provide a thoroughly useful overview of how different vintages are developing, and include some completely stunning wines..." 2001 Domaine Louis Jadot Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2001 Domaine Louis Jadot Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru (93BH, 90ST). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A gorgeously perfumed, highly complex and wonderfully spicy nose combines with hints of earth and mostly red berry fruit aromas that are beginning to display some secondary development. The broad-shouldered and solidly powerful flavors also reflect the same attractive depth as the nose with a lovely minerality and excellent definition before culminating in a long, sappy and impeccably well-balanced finish. While sufficiently mature to be enjoyable now, for my taste I would allow another 4 to 6 years of cellar time first. In sum, while there is good punch and power, this is essentially a Clos de Bèze of refinement and elegance." (07/2012)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2006 Domaine Marquis d'Angerville Volnay 1er Cru "Champans" (92BH, 91WS, 90ST). Allen Meadows - Burghound: " *Outstanding* I was mildly surprised to find a bit of reduction in the bottled version though not enough to completely hide the otherwise ripe, pure and highly complex red berry fruit aromas nuanced by a hint of iron oxide (a rusty earth character) that precedes rich, full and intense flavors that carry sleek muscle and real punch and power, all wrapped in a serious, chiseled and built to age finish. This is a wonderfully impressive wine that has the touch of youthful austerity that Champans always seems to display. Be sure to decant this for 30 minutes first as it improved noticeably with air." 2009 Marcassin "Blue Slide Ridge" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Marcassin "Blue Slide Ridge" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (98RP, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The prodigious 2009 Pinot Noir Blue Slide Ridge reminds me of one of the great vintages of the DRC Vosne-Romanee. Notes of forest floor, jammy raspberries, blueberries, boysenberries and spring flowers are followed by a full-bodied, textured, layered mouthfeel, and great intensity, precision and freshness. This stunning 2009 is already showing considerable complexity, and should age effortlessly for 10-15 years. The visionary husband and wife team of John Wetlaufer and Helen Turley have created a largely unprecedented legacy of extraordinary quality that is unsurpassed by anyone else in Northern California.
