2010 Sine Qua Non "Five Shooter" California Grenache
Bid on this bottle of 2010 Sine Qua Non "Five Shooter" California Grenache (98RP, 97VN, 95ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A similar blend (75% Grenache, 16% Syrah, 2.5 % Mourvedre, 4.5% Roussanne and 2% Viognier) and also a brilliant bottle of wine, the 2010 Grenache Five Shooter spent 20 months in 75% used barrels, with the balance in concrete and new French oak. Seamless and elegant, with the house richness and texture, it gives up thrilling, floral-tinged aromas and flavors of red berry fruit, flower oil, spice, white pepper and licorice to go with a full-bodied, layered mouthfeel that keeps you coming back to the glass. While approachable now, it will have upwards of two decades of longevity. Drink 2015-2030. (JD)" (08/2013)

Wine Enthusiast: "The purity and potent, almost mystical aromas of the En Cerise Syrah conjure up flying carpet visions of purple and black fruits. The enticing aromatics have a citrusy lift, with orange peel and incense, like drinking a Persian rug. Bid on this bottle of 1998 Penfolds "Grange" Shiraz South Australia (98RP, 97ST, 97WS, 95W&S, 95WE, 94JS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A wine that flirts with perfection, and should rival the 1986 as one of the legendary Granges produced, the 1998 has one of the highest alcohol contents (nearly 15%) as well as one of the highest percentages of Shiraz in the blend (97%). Its stunning purple color is accompanied by exceptionally sweet aromas of blackberry liqueur intermixed with barbecue spices, an endearing, smoky earthiness, pepper, roasted meats, and coffee. Huge, massive, unctuously textured, and extraordinarily youthful, this impressive wine is a candidate for perfection. It should continue to evolve over the next three decades. (RP) 98+" (06/2009)

2010 Pavie, St-Emilion
Bid on this bottle of 2010 Pavie, St-Emilion (100RP, 98JS, (94-97WS), 95ST, 94VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "What fun, excitement and joy it will be to compare the four perfect wines Perse has made in 2005, 2009, 2010 and, of course, the 2000, in 25 or so years. This wine is truly profound Bordeaux. Everything is in place - remarkable concentration and a beautiful nose of cedar and ripe blackcurrant and blackberry with some kirsch and spice box in the background. Lavishly rich, with slightly more structure and delineation than the more Rabelaisian 2009, this wine does show some serious tannins in the finish, and comes across as incredibly youthful. Of course, it's five years old, but it tastes more like a just-bottled barrel sample than a 2010. In any event, this wine is set for a long, long life and should be forgotten for at least another decade. Consume it over the following 75 or more years." (08/2016)

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2009 Kosta Browne "Gap's Crown Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (96CG, 95JS, 93ST, 92RP, 92WS). Connoisseurs Guide: " *Three Stars* Its aromas are impressively generous in their focused look at red and black cherries yet, volume aside, they are a touch tighter and in want of time to develop than their intensity might suggest. Firm and fairly full on the palate, in the house style, this refined keenly focused, compelling Pinot currently takes a half step back from the inviting suppleness of its mates yet never once gives up so much as an inch of loveliness at the same time. It is the best of the Kosta Browne bottlings for longer term aging, and it will occupy a proud space in any cellar." (10/2011)

Of the 2014 Saxum "Paderewski Vineyard" Paso Robles Red Blend,Rhone Report writes: "Checking in as a final blend of 30% Mourvèdre, 22% Zinfandel, 13% Syrah, 13% Tempranillo and the balance Grenache and Petite Sirah, the 2014 Paderewski Vineyard is as voluptuous and decadent as it gets. Plum sauce, exotic spices, white pepper, candy corn and spring flowers, it hits the palate with a broad, expansive, sexy style, ripe tannin, no weight and a blockbuster finish. It’s so well balanced and seamless, it can come across as a touch easy, yet it has terrific complexity, good mid-palate density and a great, great finish. This is what great wine is all about. Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2004 Mitolo "GAM" Shiraz McLaren Vale South Australia (97JD, 97RP, 94JH, 92WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Aged 18 months in primarily French oak, the 2004 Shiraz G.A.M. is an exceptional example of a precise yet full-flavored, concentrated Shiraz. Its gorgeous perfume of blueberries, blackberries, camphor, licorice, and pain grille is followed by an inky/blue/purple-colored wine offering superb purity, full-bodied richness, and gorgeous depth as well as texture. This fabulous effort is another example of Ben Glaetzer’s brilliant talents. It should drink well for 15 years. (RP)" (10/2005)

2007 Pahlmeyer Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this bottle of 2007 Pahlmeyer Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (96RP, 95WS, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The sensational 2007 Proprietary Red Wine (a 7,000-case blend of 82% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, and Malbec) is slightly more restrained aromatically than the Merlot, but there is no doubting its extraordinary bouquet of subtle smoked meats, oak, mountain wild flowers, blueberries, blackberries, coffee, and cassis. Super-rich and full-bodied with noticeable, but stunningly sweet tannins, it possesses a rare minerality and definition, characteristics that seem to be found across the board in Napa’s 2007s. This dense, powerful red needs 3-5 years of cellaring, and should have 25 years of life ahead of it ... 96+ (RP)" (12/2009)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Jonata "La Sangre de Jonata" Santa Ynez Valley Syrah (94RP, 94ST, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 La Sangre de Jonata is very awkward at first, but gradually opens up to reveal huge fruit backed up by equally imposing, masculine tannin. If opened today, the wine will require quite a bit of air. Ideally, it is best left alone for several years. At this stage, the aromas and flavors are very much primary. It is the wine's textural elegance and layered personality that impress above all else. With air, the wine truly begins to blossom. In 2009, there is just a touch (1%) of Viognier in the blend. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2021. (AG) 94+" (08/2012)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A brilliant wine, and one of the stars of the vintage, the 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon Special Selection boasts aromas of blueberry pie, blackberries, cassis and white flowers. This full-bodied, velvety textured, delicious 2011 is already drinking well, and should continue to do so for 10-12 years. It is a terrific success for the vintage. (RP)" (10/2013)

Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 2010 Pierre Usseglio "Cuvée de Mon Aïeul" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (98RP, 97JD, 95VN, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Usseglio’s consider the 2010 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee de Mon Aieul to be their greatest to date. I’ve done numerous tastings with the 2010 and 2007 side by side, and more times than not, I think the 2007 is the better wine. Time will tell though, and both are sensational wines that readers should have in their cellars. The inky colored 2010 is 100% Grenache fermented with 30% stems and aged in a combination of older barrels and foudre. More focused and precise than the '07 (and even darker in color), yet still with massive concentration and depth, it offers deep, rich notes of blackberries, cassis, ground herbs, pepper and crushed rocks. Full-bodied, thick and layered on the palate, it never puts a foot wrong, has fabulous purity and a blockbuster finish. It needs 3-4 years of cellaring, but will have 20-25 years of longevity. While the St. Eden is round and sensual, the Vecina is all about linear power and structure. Endowed with tremendous length and persistence, the Vecina presents endless layers of dark fruit and expressive aromatics supported by considerable tension and energy. Of the 2010 Dehlinger "Goldridge" Russian River Valley Syrah,Vinous writes: "The 2010 Syrah Goldridge is drop-dead gorgeous. Juicy black cherries, flowers, mint, licorice and mocha all jump from the glass. There is a purity to the fruit in the 2010 that stands out. This is going to be a fascinating wine to follow over the next few years. Still, it is impossible not to love the 2010 today. The 2011 Barbaresco Riserva Rio Sordo is my favorite wine among this set of new Riserva releases. This gorgeous wine is seamless in approach with balanced aromatic intensity that bridges dark fruit aromas against ethereal notes of cola, tar and licorice. 2013 Maybach Family "Amoenus" Calistoga Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2013 Maybach Family "Amoenus" Calistoga Cabernet Sauvignon (98RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Amoenus comes from a completely different terroir, a western hillside vineyard near Calistoga that averages 10-15 degrees cooler than the eastern part of the valley in what is known as the Black Mountain Gap. The wine shows incredible minerality, beautiful notes of forest floor, floral scents, blackcurrant liqueur, licorice and graphite. The wine is dense, full-bodied and seems even more backward and broodingly powerful than the Materium. This 100% Cabernet Sauvignon is a long-distance runner that should age beautifully for 30-40 years. Production of this is much less, usually averaging under 300 cases of wine per year. 98+ points. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "My favorite of the lineup and a totally knockout effort that will stand toe-to-toe with the best wines of the vintage, the 2010 Akasha is 95% Syrah and 5% Grenache that spent 18 months in 60% new French oak. Offering up incredibly pure creme de cassis, tobacco, chocolate, crushed flowers and hints of scorched earth, it flows seamlessly onto the palate with a full-bodied, massively concentrated, yet oh so fine and focused texture that’s hard to beat. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2011 Aubert "UV Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (94RP). Savory herbs, licorice, mint and new leather all emerge from the glass in this layered, sensual Pinot. The UV is less overtly fruit driven, but seems to place more emphasis on the savory side of Pinot. Polished tannins support a finish laced with tar, smoke, iron, licorice and autumn leaves. 2012 Bedrock Wine Company "Weill a Way Vineyard - Exposition Three" Sonoma Valley Syrah
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2012 Bedrock Wine Company "Weill a Way Vineyard - Exposition Three" Sonoma Valley Syrah (99RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The '2012 Proprietary Red Weill Vineyard Exposition Project Trio' is three incredible wines from Sonoma County. This is Twain-Peterson’s take on the three LaLa wines from the Guigal family in Côte-Rôtie. He is emphasizing distinct clonal terroir and exposition differences as well as vinifying the wines separately. All three of the following wines were aged 36 months in 100% new French oak. My favorite, as it would be if we were tasting Guigal’s La Mouline, is the 2012 Proprietary Red Weill Vineyard Exposition 3, which is 84% Syrah and 16% Viognier with 10% whole-clusters. From a south-facing block, this is definitely a wine of great intensity and incredible complexity, with notes of lychee nut, honeysuckle, black raspberries, crème de cassis and blackberry pie. 2008 Clos Rougeard Saumur-Champigny
Bid on this bottle of 2008 Clos Rougeard Saumur-Champigny (93W&S). Wine & Spirits: "The Foucault brothers took over their family’s estate in 1969 and continue to produce legendary Cabernet Franc. They farm organically and make their wines without adding yeast, without racking, fining or filtering. Their 2008 shows fine evolution, its rooty, rich flavors seemingly ready to drink when first poured, then gaining freshness over the course of a day. The wine’s silken texture and bright red fruit suggest there’s further evolution to come. Or decant it now for duck over farro and red cabbage." (04/2013)

2012 Domaine Arnoux-Lachaux Latricières-Chambertin Grand Cru
Bid on this bottle of 2012 Domaine Arnoux-Lachaux Latricières-Chambertin Grand Cru (94BH, (90-92ST)). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Like the Reignots this is closed and brooding at present though aggressive swirling grudgingly liberates cool, pure and airy red berry fruit scents along with a profusion of floral elements that are also trimmed in a discreet application of wood. There is a lovely sense of energy and underlying tension to the intensely mineral-driven, focused, precise and driving medium-bodied flavors that culminate in a moderately austere and gorgeously sustained finale. This is very Latricières and should age accordingly." (01/2015)

2011 Domaine Bruno Clair Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum lot of 2011 Domaine Bruno Clair Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru (1.5L) (94RP, 93BH). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted blind at the Burgundy 2011 horizontal tasting in Beaune. The Chambertin Clos de Bèze 2011 from Bruno Clair has a very succinct bouquet with red cherries, crushed strawberry and a deft touch of bergamot that is detailed and focused. The palate is medium-bodied with succulent, ripe tannins and very well-judged acidity that keeps the whole thing tense and poised. This feels natural and refined with wonderful poise and grace on the delineated finish. There is some oak to be fully absorbed here, but the class shows through. (NM)" (11/2014)

2012 Alvaro Palacios "Finca Dofi" Priorat
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2012 Alvaro Palacios "Finca Dofi" Priorat (94RP, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Finca Dofí is mostly Garnacha with a mere 4% Cariñena. The destemmed and lightly crushed grapes fermented in oak vats with natural yeast. It went through malolactic fermentation in oak barrel (without the addition of any yeasts or bacteria) where the wine matured for some 16 months. As the other 2012s, there is a Mediterranean character inherent to the vintage. Aromatic herbs and spices are very evident here, the fruit is ripe, but leans more toward the red than black cherries. The palate reveals sophisticated tannins and very good balance between elegance and power. (LG)" (07/2015)

2006 Domaine Bizot Echézeaux Grand Cru
Bid on this bottle of 2006 Domaine Bizot Echézeaux Grand Cru ((90-92BH), 92RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Musky floral and animal scents, high-toned kirsch and framboise, and sea breeze salinity and alkalinity lend Bizot's 2006 Echezeaux (from the les Orveaux section of that cru, high above Clos Vougeot) far and away the most intriguing nose in his current collection. Brightly-fruited on the palate, with its berry-tart edge serving for considerable invigoration, this exhibits an uncanny suggestion of caramelized, fruit-filled pastry, yet at the same time a lovely sense of transparency to persistent floral, mineral, and animal nuances. This should be worth following for at least a decade. (DS)" (12/2009)

Bid on this bottle of 2009 Domaine Confuron-Cotetidot Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru "Suchots" (93ST, 91BH). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good bright, deep red. Deep, complex nose dominated by raspberry and spices. Creamy and concentrated, even voluptuous, but with the whole-cluster vinification energizing the very dense middle palate and accentuating the wine's structure. The tannins reach the front teeth on the very long whiplash of a finish. This is always a superb bottling. (ST) 93+" (03/2013)

2009 Brane-Cantenac, Margaux
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2009 Brane-Cantenac, Margaux (94RP, 94WE, 93JS, 92WS, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted at the Brane-Cantenac vertical at the château, the 2009 Brane-Cantenac is a blend of 40% Merlot, 53% Cabernet Sauvignon and 7% Cabernet Franc, has an extremely pure and sensual bouquet with ripe red cherries, blackberry, minerals and incense that is totally irresistible. The palate is silky smooth with very fine tannin, a great core of tensile red berry fruit with compelling mineralité towards the structured, Pauillac-like finish. This is a top-quality Brane-Cantenac, one of the best under Henri Lurton. One of the most prosaically "delicious" Brane-Cantenac releases in recent years. (NM)" (12/2016)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Vosne-Romanee Les Rouges du Dessus reveals a powerful, dark personality. There is marvelous tension between the explosive dark fruit and the wine’s considerable underlying structure. This intense Vosne needs a few years to settle down, but it is magnificent even today. Bid on this bottle of 2009 Domaine Confuron-Cotetidot Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru (93BH, (89-92ST)). The remarkably long and mouth coating finish is supported by sap-wrapped and very firm tannins. Patience is clearly required." (01/2012)

Bid on this bottle of 2011 Domaine Ghislaine Barthod Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru "Les Fuées" ((90-92BH), 92RP, 92VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted blind at the Burgundy 2011 horizontal tasting in Beaune. The Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Fuées is more surly and introspective on the nose compared to Patrice Rion’s with dank cellar scents infusing the black fruit. With continued aeration there are touches of juniper berry and sloe. The palate is medium-bodied with supple, lithe tannins and good acidity. Quite succulent in the mouth with impressive purity, I would just like to see this develop more charm on the finish, but there is certainly good potential here. Long-term. (NM)" (11/2014)

2005 Domaine des Comtes Lafon Volnay 1er Cru "Santenots-du-Milieu"
Bid on this bottle of 2005 Domaine des Comtes Lafon Volnay 1er Cru "Santenots-du-Milieu" (95RP, 94BH, 94ST, 94VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Having tasted this three or four times in the past, I probably have under-rated this wine because it is such a long-term proposition. The 2005 Volnay Santenot has a dense, almost impenetrable bouquet that demands considerable aeration to unveil its multi-layered aromatic profile of creme de cassis, raspberry, blackberry and a veneer of new oak that needs several more years to be fully absorbed (indeed, it feels like more than the one-third new oak that Dominique uses). The palate is full-bodied with a sweet, succulent entry. It is beautifully balanced, vivacious and sensual with a dab of alcohol on the finish. It is far too young to broach at the moment, but it will develop with style over the next three decades. Drink 2018-2035. Tasted September 2013. (NM)" (12/2013)

Bid on this bottle of 1997 Domaine Joseph Roty Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru "Tres Vieilles Vignes" (93ST, 92BH). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Deep red. Perfumed, nuanced aromas of cherry, faded rose, woodsmoke and bacon fat. Tighter and less showy than the last two bottles, but displayed sappy, intense red fruit flavors with aeration. A rarity: a '97 with real finesse. Finishes very long and juicy, with unusually supple tannins for this wine, from some of the oldest vines on the Cote de Nuits. (ST)" (03/2000)

2010 Pape Clément, Pessac-Léognan
Bid on this bottle of 2010 Pape Clément, Pessac-Léognan (100RP, 96JS, 95WE, 95WS, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I certainly underrated the 2010 Pape Clement from barrel, rating it only 93-95+. (Thank God I put a 'plus' there!) Having tasted it four times in Bordeaux, and rating it perfect three times and 99 the fourth time, this final blend of 51% Merlot, 47.5% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 1.5% Petit Verdot is perfection in a bottle. Tipping the scales at 14.5% natural alcohol, there are 8,000 cases of it. Its sublime elegance, the power, the medium to full-bodied texture, the silky tannins, the subtle notes of smoke, lead pencil shavings, black currants, charcoal, camphor, blueberry and cassis fruit are all remarkable. It is a rich, full-throttle wine, but the elegance and the great terroir of Pape Clement come through in abundance. It is slightly more developed and evolved than the 2005 was at a similar point in its evolution, but it certainly needs another 5-7 years to develop f

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This sensational, opaque blue/purple-colored wine from Smith Haut Lafitte has a gorgeous floral nose with notes of graphite, blueberries, blackberries, and cassis that jump from the glass of this inky, very dense, yet strikingly pure wine. Light on its feet despite its stunning concentration and multi-layered mouthfeel, this wine has fabulous intensity, richness and length. Quite impressive, and still incredibly youthful, this is a superstar of the vintage, and capable of lasting another 25-30 years. (RP)" (06/2015)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2009 Delas Frères "Francois de Tournon" St-Joseph (94RP, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 St.-Joseph Francois de Tournon is showing even better than it did last year out of barrel. An inky/purple color is followed by notes of graphite, smoke, blackberries, cassis, road tar and truffles. With layers of fruit, an unctuous texture and tremendous purity and depth, this stunning effort is a great sleeper of this fabulous northern Rhone vintage. It should drink well for 10-15 years or longer. (RP)" (12/2011)

Bid on this bottle of 1998 Domaine Louis Jadot Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru (93ST). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Vibrant ruby-red. Sappy perfumed nose combines raspberry, bitter cherry, rose petal, mace and a whiff of meat. Very intense, sharply delineated flavors of raspberry and tangy spices quickly went into a shell in the glass. But the wine lovely delicacy and freshness, and gripping, firmly tannic finish suggest that it should be superb with seven or eight years of additional bottle aging. 2008 Domaine Meo-Camuzet Clos Vougeot Grand Cru
Bid on this bottle of 2008 Domaine Meo-Camuzet Clos Vougeot Grand Cru (92RP, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Meo’s 2008 Clos Vougeot smells of charred, roasted red meats; smoky-sweet machine oil; metal shavings; and blackberry preserves. A correspondingly dark; sweet; smoky; subtly caramelized and bitter palate impression takes on aspects of medicinal herbal concentrate and saline, savory soy as you aerate the wine in your mouth. This is plush to an extent that covers over its tannins until they emerge grippingly in a finish whose sappy, subtly oily, sweet intensity no one is likely to deem "elegant," but which is certainly impressive in its powerful way.
