2012 Aubert "Ritchie Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2012 Aubert "Ritchie Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay (95RP, 95VN, 94WS). Vinous: "The 2012 Chardonnay Ritchie Vineyard is a wine of pure texture. Lemon, white flowers, dried pears, mint and spices meld together in the glass. Absolutely nothing is out of place here. The flavors are vivid, intense and layered. Readers may notice a slightly cloudy color in the 2012, which is the result of one tank that had an especially late malolactic fermentation ... (AG)" (01/2014)

2010 Saxum "Heart Stone Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 Saxum "Heart Stone Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (95RP, 95VN, 94ST, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "More dense and rich, the 2010 Heart Stone Vineyard is a co-fermented blend of 51% Syrah and 49% Grenache that comes from a small 7-acre, south-facing vineyard located on the western side of Paso Robles. Aged mostly in large oak puncheons for 20-28 months, it offers up a savory, complex bouquet of kirsch and blackberry-like fruit, meat juice, Provencal herbs, dried licorice, and dusty minerality. Gorgeous on the palate as well, with a deft, elegant texture, building richness, and layers of chewy tannin, this beauty is reasonably approachable now, yet will be even better in 2-3 years. It will drink well for 12-15 years. (JD)" (07/2014)

Of the 2011 Kosta Browne "Keefer Ranch" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir,Connoisseurs Guide writes: " *Three Stars* We have often found a singular and very identifiable purity to the fruit of Russian River's best Pinot sites, and this lovely version from Keefer Ranch is perfect example of just that. It is optimally ripened and very rich right from the first with a long and very deep complement of juicy, red-cherry fruit, and its teasing suggestions of sweet oak and dried flowers only make a good thing even better. It manages to be lively and lithe and fairly substantial all at once, and its lengthy, amazingly vital finish further marks it as a decidedly collectable wine ... " (10/2013)

1999 Peter Michael "La Carrière" Sonoma County Chardonnay
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 1999 Peter Michael "La Carrière" Sonoma County Chardonnay (91RP, 90ST, 90WE, 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1999 Chardonnay La Carriere emerges from estate vineyards planted at elevations of 1600-1800 feet, with a gradient of nearly 40. The 1999 La Carriere reveals roasted hazelnut/stony characteristics along with abundant spice, buttered pears, and guava-like fruit. Produced from extremely low yields of 1.7 tons of fruit per acre, it possesses a creamy texture, exotic fruit on the mid-palate, and a ripe, rich finish with fine underlying acidity. It is a brilliant Chardonnay...(RP)" (12/2000)

2011 Sine Qua Non "Patine - Eleven Confessions Vineyard" Santa Rita Hills Grenache
Bid on this bottle of 2011 Sine Qua Non "Patine - Eleven Confessions Vineyard" Santa Rita Hills Grenache (97RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Coming all from Manfred's Eleven Confessions Vineyard in the Sta. Rita Hills and a blend of 77% Grenache, 22% Syrah and 1% Viognier (fermented with 25% whole clusters), the 2011 Grenache Patine spent a full 33 months in almost all neutral oak, with just 11% being new. It offers perfumed and spice-laced notes of white pepper, black raspberry, blackberry and ground herbs that flow to a full-bodied, elegant, nicely concentrated 2011 that has nicely integrated acidity, no hard edges and a terrific finish. It's certainly one of the fresher, more elegant Grenaches from Manfred, yet it still has rocking levels of fruit. Give it 2-3 years of cellaring and enjoy bottles over the following decade. 1974 Robert Mondavi "Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 1974 Robert Mondavi "Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (93RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A consistent star of the vintage, this fully mature wine exhibits no sign of losing its fruit. The color is saturated dark plum/garnet with slight amber at the edge. The bouquet has always been ostentatious, with pungent aromas of cassis, pepper, herbs, licorice, cedar, and Asian spices. Full-bodied and superbly balanced, with that layered, expansive richness found in top, highly extracted wines, the acidity is low but sound, and the tannin has nearly melted away. This stunning, opulent, complex California Cabernet Sauvignon should continue to drink well for another decade or more." (06/1994)

1978 Mayacamas Napa Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum lot of 1978 Mayacamas Napa Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (100VN, 92WS). Vinous: "The 1978 Cabernet Sauvignon is quite simply one of the greatest Napa Valley wines I have ever tasted. Dark, powerful and explosive, the 1978 captivates all the senses with intense dark fruit, tobacco, smoke, cedar and licorice. Utterly mesmerizing from the very first taste, the 1978 shows no signs of fading. The firm tannins ensure another decade-plus of magical drinking. Readers fortunate enough to own well-stored bottles are in for an extraordinary drinking experience on a par with any wine from anywhere in the world. It's as simple as that. The 1978 remains a testament to the genius of Bob Travers and this rugged hillside site on Mt. Veeder. Here, too, provenance is everything. (AG)" (06/2014)

2003 Sine Qua Non "Papa" Central Coast Syrah
Bid on this bottle of 2003 Sine Qua Non "Papa" Central Coast Syrah (98RP, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "There are 860 cases of the 2003 Papa, a blend of 97% Syrah, 2% Mourvedre, and 1% Grenache sourced from six different vineyards. An old black and white photograph of Manfred Krankl’s father holding a baby with a head the size of a large watermelon (presumably Manfred) serves as the label for this wine, which has just about everything one could want in a great Syrah. It exhibits extraordinary power and richness along with large quantities of sexy, seductive cassis, black cherries, and a chocolaty undertone. Unctuously textured, rich, and full, it will provide amazing drinking over the next 10-15 years. (RP)" (08/2006)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2012 Schrader "Beckstoffer To Kalon RBS" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (98RP, 96VN, 94JS, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard RBS, which is also from Clone 337 but from different blocks on the Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard, saw oak with 90% new Darnajou and 10% new Taransaud. This wine seems slightly more expansive, shares the black ruby/purple color with all of it siblings, and has a boatload of crème de cassis, incense, licorice, graphite and vanilla along with plenty of spice box and forest floor. The wine is light on its feet for such massive extraction. With not a hard edge to be found, this is truly brilliant winemaking from a great terroir. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Abreu’s first venture with Cabernet Sauvignon was from the Madrona Ranch, which is essentially the lower hillsides of Spring Mountain, just northwest of St. Helena. The dense purple-colored 2006 Madrona Ranch (55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Petit Verdot) is extraordinary. Its nose of charcoal, espresso roast, blackberries, cassis, crushed rocks, and white chocolate is followed by a ripe, pure wine with a fabulous mid-palate texture (a characteristic of all these wines), and good balance as well as length. 2009 Screaming Eagle "Second Flight" Napa Valley Proprietary Red
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Screaming Eagle "Second Flight" Napa Valley Proprietary Red (93VN). Vinous: "A beautiful expression of the year, the 2009 Second Flight emerges from the glass with intense layers of fruit in a style that very much recalls Screaming Eagle. Today, the 2009 comes across as a bit more structured and tannic than previous efforts. Some of that may be the vintage, but I imagine the addition of 9% Cabernet Franc over Merlot to the blend is also a contributing factor. Either way, the 2009 is a striking Second Flight endowed with serious depth, purity and finesse. Sweet red berries, crushed flowers and sweet spices are some of the many nuances that are woven together in this appealing, totally delicious wine. (Antonio Galloni)" (12/2012)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2010 Shafer "Hillside Select" Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon (100RP, 98JS, 95VN, 95WE, 95WS, 93CG). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A remarkable wine, the 2010 Shafer Cabernet Sauvignon Hillside Select has gone from strength to strength since it was in cask. It is stunningly rich, with classic, fragrant notes of blackcurrants, blackberries, vanilla, graphite and spring flowers. It exhibits an opaque purple color, with a full-bodied, massive mouthfeel, but no heaviness, and again, a flawless integration of acidity, tannin, alcohol and wood. It’s classic California Cabernet, but beautifully put together, showing impeccable craftsmanship and fabulous potential. This is obviously a very young, infantile style of Cabernet that won’t hit its prime for at least another decade and last close to half a century, based on how older vintages that were less well-endowed have matured from Shafer. It is wonderfully rich in very pure and precise fruit with a lovely veneer of rich and wholly sympathetic oak, and its remarkable layering and striking palatal length make it a wine that compels sip after slow sip. It has an up front approachable and sexy feel in its cherry blossom and black raspberry fruit, crushed flowers and spice aromas and flavors. 2012 Sine Qua Non "Stein" Central Coast Grenache
Bid on this bottle of 2012 Sine Qua Non "Stein" Central Coast Grenache (97RP, (95-97VN)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Starting with the Grenache release, the 2012 Grenache Stein is a blend of 76% Grenache, 16% Syrah, and 8% Mourvedre, aged in 14% new French oak (15% was in concrete), that comes mostly from the estate's Eleven Confessions Vineyard in the Sta. Rita Hills, but also includes grapes from the Cumulus, Third Twin (Syrah) and Bien Nacido vineyards. Checking in at 15.7% alcohol, it's no lightweight, yet it has considerable elegance in its sweet blackcurrants, white pepper, licorice, baking spices and hints of violet-like aromas and flavors. Possessing the hallmark purity of the estate, it's full-bodied, concentrated, rich and textured, with sweet tannin barely noticeable on the finish. I don't think it's one of the greatest Grenaches from the estate, yet it's still an incredible effort that will benefit from short-term cellaring and have 15-20 years or more of overall longe

2009 Hundred Acre "Ark Vineyard" Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2009 Hundred Acre "Ark Vineyard" Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon (96RP, 96ST, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Ark Vineyard emerges from a parcel of old, volcanic soils that inform the wine to a significant degree. A vivid kaleidoscope of iron, ash, tar, smoke, crushed rocks and dark red berries take shape as this fabulous, pedigreed wine shows off its considerable personality. A cool, inward wine, the Ark is all about minerality and pure tension as a backdrop for the characteristic Hundred Acre fruit. A huge, mineral-soaked finish rounds things out in style. The 2009 is the rare Hundred Acre wine that is not likely to offer immediate pleasure. It will more than make up for that in the future. I can’t wait to see how this explosive, beguiling Cabernet develops over the next few years. Anticipated maturity: 2017-2029. (AG)" (12/2012)

It offers stunning notes of blackcurrants, cassis, smoked meats, ground pepper and wild herbs to go with a full-bodied, unctuous, layered, yet always graceful and elegant feel on the palate. Nicely structured, with perfect overall balance, it still has the open-knit character of the vintage, yet has plenty of underlying structure, which at the moment is slightly hidden by the wine's lavish fruit. It will be better in 2-3 years, and have two decades of overall longevity. (JD)" (08/2015)

1992 Shafer "Hillside Select" Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 1992 Shafer "Hillside Select" Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon (95RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1992 Shafer Cabernet Sauvignon Hillside Select is another killer wine boasting a dense purple color as well as a gorgeous bouquet of crème de cassis, creosote, camphor, licorice, blackberries and subtle background oak, and full-bodied, heady flavors. It is clear that after 1991, the Shafers and Elias Fernandez were entering a dramatic new level of quality as the Hillside Select cuvée had become a world-class effort. This beauty is just becoming fully drinkable and should continue to provide immense enjoyment over the next 20 years. (RP)" (12/2004)

2005 Pax "Obsidian" Knight's Valley Syrah
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2005 Pax "Obsidian" Knight's Valley Syrah (96RP, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2005 Syrah Obsidian Vineyard is from Knight’s Valley. This is steep hillside vineyard stuff with a dense, dark purple color, a phenomenally rich nose of brioche, acacia flowers, blackberry, and blueberry jam intermixed with some white chocolate and perhaps hints of fig and truffle. The wine is spicy, full-bodied, incredibly opulent, and thick, even unctuously textured, with great purity and richness. Moreover, the glycerin and viscosity cover up some huge tannins. This is an amazingly big, thick wine, but it still cascades over the palate like a waterfall. This wine should come into its own in several years and drink well for 10-15. (RP)" (12/2007)

2005 Pride Mountain "Reserve" Sonoma-Napa Counties Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2005 Pride Mountain "Reserve" Sonoma-Napa Counties Cabernet Sauvignon (96RP, 94WE, 93ST, 93WS, 92CG). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Almost as impressive is the 2005 Cabernet Reserve, a blend of 95.5% Cabernet Sauvignon and 4.5 % Petit Verdot, in this case sourced 58% from Sonoma County and 42% from Napa. Its 14.5% alcohol is slightly lower than its sibling’s. This full-bodied wine is very concentrated, with a saturated bluish/purple color and a classic nose of mocha and espresso intermixed with crème de cassis and charcoal. The finish is a good 40-45 seconds, and the wine has a remarkable vibrancy and freshness from the vintage’s acidity. This is terrific stuff to drink now and over the next 12-15 years. 96+ (RP)" (06/2015)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2008 Talley "Rosemary's Vineyard" Arroyo Grande Pinot Noir (96RP, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A low yielding, cool vintage produced super-concentrated fruit. The dense ruby/purple-hued 2008 exhibits abundant blue and red fruits, especially blueberries and raspberries, intermixed with forest floor-like notes. With surprising concentration as well as a thick, juicy mouthfeel as well as undeniable elegance and precision, this dense 2008 should drink beautifully for another 10-15 years. (RP)" (10/2011)

Rita Hills Pinot Noir (94WE, 93VN, 93W&S, 92WS, 90BH). Of the 2005 Sea Smoke "Southing" Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir,Wine Enthusiast writes: "The most balanced of Sea Smoke’s three new Pinots, Southing was aged in about two-thirds new oak, which gives rich caramel, toasted coconut and exotic spice notes to the ripe fruit flavors. The wine explodes with cherries, raspberries, mulberries and even chocolate mint, finishing long and spicy, and leaving the impression of wholesomeness and completeness. Now showing its peak of youthful vivacity, this should develop for an additional six years." (12/2007)

1994 Spottswoode Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1994 Spottswoode Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (99RP, 93CG, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "1994 produced 4,863 cases from a blend of 94% Cabernet Sauvignon and 6% Cabernet Franc. This is one of the great vintages of the 90s, and Spottswoode hit the bull’s-eye with this opaque, ruby/purple-colored wine that still has incredible youthfulness and vibrancy. Fabulous fruit intensity, blackcurrants, black cherries and blackberry, along with charcoal, chocolate and graphite, are all present in this superb, full-bodied, stunningly multidimensional wine that is only now approaching mid-adolescence at age 22. This wine has at least 25-30 more years of life left in it. It is a great one. (RP)" (08/2016)

2007 Marcassin "Marcassin Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2007 Marcassin "Marcassin Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (98RP, 96WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I had always believed the 2007 Pinot Noir was the finest Helen Turley and John Wetlaufer had produced at their Estate Vineyard, but after doing this vertical and seeing the performances of the 1998, 2002 and 2004, that belief rings somewhat hollow. The still young, incredible 2007 has all the potential needed to achieve a three-digit rating in a few years. A dense plum/purple color is followed by notes of subtle smoke, barbecue spice, blueberries, red and black currants, flowers, and a smoky meat-like character that I first compared to the aroma of Peking duck. There is something exotic about this full-bodied, dense 2007. Young and vibrant, it should hit its peak in 5-6 years, and last until 2030-2035. This world-class, prodigious Pinot Noir is probably better than 90% of the red Burgundies being produced. (RP)" (06/2014)

2010 Abreu "Thorevilos" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2010 Abreu "Thorevilos" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (98VN, 95RP). Vinous: "David Abreu's 2010 Thorevilos stands apart from all of the other wines in this range for its massive, inky concentration. It is also the last of these wines to be released, which may explain its intense power. A host of graphite, smoke, incense, tobacco, spice and black fruit gradually open up, but the 2010 is a wine for the future. I won't touch another bottle until at least age ten, even though that is almost certainly not going to be enough time to find the wine at its peak of expression. (AG)" (06/2015)

Vinous: "Screaming Eagle's 2010 Second Flight opens with exquisite aromatics that are the hallmarks of this superb Oakville estate. Sweet red berries, mint, raspberries, violets and lavender emerge from the glass in a silky, polished wine that is all about grace. Even though Cabernet Sauvignon plays a greater role in the 2010 than the 2011, the 2010 is incredibly sweet, refined and polished. In 2010 Second Flight is power and finesse. " (11/2013)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Proprietary Blend Harlan Estate is just as impressive from bottle as it was from barrel. Cloves, dark plums, cherries, smoke and graphite add richness and resonance to this powerful, incisive wine. Juicy and exuberant, the 2009 has always had a certain raciness that is impossible to resist. Layers of fruit continue to build to the enveloping, sensual finish. Readers will have a hard time keeping their hands off this hugely delicious wine. (AG)" (12/2012)

2013 Scarecrow Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2013 Scarecrow Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (100RP, (95-97VN), 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The prodigious 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, including fruit from some of the oldest Cabernet vines still in existence in Napa. This full-bodied classic displays notes of forest floor, earth, crème de cassis, blackberry liqueur, licorice and some pen ink. It is dense, full-bodied, prodigiously rich, massive in intensity, yet relatively light on its feet. This great ballerina of a wine has extraordinary ripeness but pulls back from the edge before going over the top. There are 1,000 cases of this classic, which should age effortlessly for 30+ years. 2000 Bryant Family Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2000 Bryant Family Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (95RP, 95ST, 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2000 Cabernet Sauvignon is an amazing tour de force. Quality like this was rare, if not impossible to obtain in 2000. From bottle, the wine is performing even better than it did from cask. The color is an opaque black/ruby/purple, and the amazing aromatic concoction includes notes of melted licorice, minerals, smoky toast, and blackberry as well as cassis liqueur. Full-bodied, thick, and juicy, it is a voluptuous effort to drink now and over the next 15-16 years. It is a brilliant achievement, surpassed by none, and equaled only by a few other northern California 2000s. (RP)" (12/2003)

1995 Ridge Vineyards "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon (OWC)
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 1995 Ridge Vineyards "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon (OWC - 91RP) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1995 Monte Bello is actually a Proprietary Red Wine as the blend is 69% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Merlot, 10% Petit Verdot, and 3% Cabernet Franc. It was made from an extremely severe selection of only 25% of the harvest. Paul Draper feels it is the biggest, brawniest, and most muscular Monte Bello of the 1990s, and in need of 10-15 more years of cellaring. This saturated ruby/purple-colored effort is still backward, with a closed nose of minerals, oak, and subtle black fruits. In the mouth, it is large-scaled, tannic, rich, and long, but nearly abrasive because of the wine's high tannin level. This youthful, muscular, monster Monte Bello will require significant cellaring. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2035. " (12/1998)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard Lpv comes from clone 337. This is a rather earthy style for a Schrader wine, with less drama and flamboyance, but great fruit, a more meaty, dusty style with underbrush as well as blackcurrants, with spicy oak. It’s dense, full-bodied and promises to age nicely for 20 more years. (RP)" (10/2015)

Of the 2012 Kosta Browne "Garys' Vineyard" Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "One of my favorites in the lineup, the 2012 Pinot Noir Garys' Vineyard shows its 15% whole cluster fermentation with the darker fruit, ground pepper, herbs and background meatiness that shows on the nose. A rich, full-flavored, yet still seamless and elegant Pinot Noir, it has solid underlying structure and beautiful focus that comes through on the finish. It can be consumed anytime over the coming 5-7 years. This was another stacked lineup by the team of Dan Kosta and Michael Browne. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 Aubert "UV-SL Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay (94RP, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Chardonnay UV-SL Vineyard boasts remarkable textural depth and finesse. Rich, round and seamless, the UV-SL is all about body and endless layers of flavor. An element of salinity gives a finish laced with white flowers and citrus of considerable freshness. This is a stunning set of wines from Mark Aubert. Both the Chardonnays and Pinots developed considerably over the time I followed them. Readers should open the wines at least several hours in advance. In general, the 2010s are brighter and more focused than the 2009s, which are more generous. Alcohol levels are also lower across the board in 2010. (AG)" (02/2012)

Subdued but pure aromas and flavors of currant, dark cherry, licorice and graphite. Voluptuous and sweet, but not heavy; this saturates every square millimeter of the palate. Almost painful intensity to the wave of fruits and minerals. Boasts compelling sweetness but with real lift and energy. Finishes with plenty of dusty tannins and outstanding building length.
