Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Chardonnay McCrea Vineyard is impeccable from start to finish. 2005 Aubert "Reuling Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay
Bid on this bottle of 2005 Aubert "Reuling Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay (99RP, 95ST, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "There are 350 cases of the 2005 Chardonnay Reuling Vineyard, which comes from the Goldridge soils of this Sonoma Coast site. This Chardonnay comes from a clone suitcased over from the Montrachet vineyard in Burgundy. There is no doubting the liquid minerality, striking honeyed citrus, white currant, hazelnut, and brioche notes are more French than California, but the power and richness are pure New World. An absolutely remarkable Chardonnay that is certainly one of the top half dozen or so Chardonnays I have ever tasted from California, this is a stunningly proportioned, profound wine that should drink beautifully for 5-7 years, if you can resist it that long. Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2009 Sine Qua Non "On the Lam" White Blend (94ST, 93RP). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Vivid gold. Intense, floral-accented scents of orange zest, pit fruit and candied ginger. Powerful and broad but surprisingly energetic, offering sappy, palate-staining citrus marmalade and peach flavors lifted by tangy acidity. A suave honey note comes up with air and carries through the long, spicy finish." (11/2011)

This glides along on a long, silky finish. Drink now through 2020. " (07/2014)

2007 Marcassin "Marcassin Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay
Bid on this bottle of 2007 Marcassin "Marcassin Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay (99RP, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A staggering Chardonnay that’s still an infant, the light yellow/green/gold 2007 offers up notes of unbuttered popcorn, orange liqueur, lemon butter, quince and crushed rocks. It possesses terrific underlying acidity, a full-bodied mouthfeel and a youthfulness and freshness that suggest this wine has two decades of life ahead of it. This majestic Chardonnay seems more French than Californian, but again, this reflects the significance of the labor of these two overachieving, push-the-envelope visionaries. What California viticulture and high-class, minimalist winemaking can achieve is exhibited in bold fashion by this 2007. It will hit its prime in 5-7 years, and appears to be a replay of the 2002 stylistically as well as for its overall potential. 99+ points. (RP)" (06/2012)

2008 Brewer-Clifton "Sweeney Canyon" Sta. Rita Hills Chardonnay
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2008 Brewer-Clifton "Sweeney Canyon" Sta. Rita Hills Chardonnay (97RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2008 continues the trend of rating all the older Sweeney Canyon Chardonnays higher than I did early in their lives. That’s an indication of great winemaking from a spectacular site. The age old argument of whether a Chardonnay improves in the bottle is answered positively by how the wines in this vertical have performed. The 2008 Chardonnay displays a French style with lots of white corn, white peach, honeysuckle, wet rock and spice characteristics. Tropical fruit notes appear on the palate, and there is enough acidity to support and delineate the wine’s superb richness. The alcohol came in at 15.3%, relatively modest by Brewer-Clifton standards. The 2008 should drink well for at least 8-10 more years. (RP)" (11/2013)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2005 Aubert "Lauren Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay (98RP, 93ST, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Another utterly profound wine is the 2005 Chardonnay Lauren Vineyard. A gorgeous nose of wet rocks, white currants, flowers, pineapple, and honeysuckle are all present in this vivid, full-bodied, powerful wine that tastes like a Chevalier-Montrachet from France. Stunningly rich, pure, and long, this is another tour de force from Mark Aubert, who certainly has the Midas touch when it comes to Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. It should drink well for 5-8 years." Kings Farm is the translation of Kongsgaard from the Norwegian. Our family name is tied to our ancestral farm in southern Norway. 2004 Aubert "Ritchie Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2004 Aubert "Ritchie Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay (95ST, 94WS, 93RP). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Slightly hazy appearance. Musky, highly complex aromas of crystallized lemon peel, pineapple and smoke. Fat and sweet but shapely, with wonderfully tactile flavors of pineapple, grapefruit and minerals. As round and seamlessly sweet as this is, there's a restraint to the fruit thanks to its terrific acid/alcohol balance. Finishes chewy and gripping, with powerful ripe fruit flavors. This is from a '71 planting; perhaps due to the age of the vines, the crop level here was a fairly normal 2.5 tons per acre, while Aubert's other three chardonnays, from younger vines, were in the 1 to 1.5 ton range. This vineyard was harvested last, in mid-September, after the extended heat wave subsided." (05/2006)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2008 Domaine des Comtes Lafon Meursault 1er Cru "Charmes" ((91-94BH)). "Outstanding" and 91-94 points Allen Meadows: "A discreet but not invisible touch of oak frames the ripe orchard fruit aromas, particularly peach and apricot, as well as pretty floral notes. The fresh, intense and notably sweet flavors possess excellent intensity and vibrancy before culminating in a generous and mouth coating finish that displays real verve. I really like the sense of underlying tension and the abundant amount of dry extract confers an almost chewy quality on the gorgeously long finish. In a word, terrific." (Tasted: Jun 01, 2010)

Bid on this 3-magnum lot of 2010 Domaine Paul Pernot Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru (1.5L) (95BH, 93ST). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This is not quite as refined as the Bienvenues but it's more complex still with an unusually expressive nose at this early stage of notably ripe white peach, pear, yellow peach and apricot fruit scents that combine with very pretty floral nuances. The rich, powerful and muscular full-bodied flavors ooze with dry extract that imparts an opulent mouth feel to the attractively precise and borderline painfully intense finish. This is exceptionally backwards and just like the nose, the palate impression is not as fine but this is both bigger and longer. Impressive." (06/2012)

Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "(I tasted a pre-bottling sample): Bright yellow. Sexy aromas of peach, spices, minerals and nut oil. Densely packed and powerful but a bit perturbed in its current form, with a recent SO2 addition accentuating the wine's acidity. Subtle notes of white pepper and wild herbs emerge with air to complicate the white peach and mineral flavors. Very juicy wine with superb depth and inner-mouth tension. This is presently quite understated and does an impressive job of blending power and finesse in a package of impact without heaviness." (07/2009)

In a vintage that was challenging for many California Chardonnay producers, the Three Sisters and the 2006 Marcassin Estate Chardonnays stand out as candidates for 'wines of the vintage'. Given the history of the vintage and the challenging conditions for Chardonnay, I would suspect these wines will evolve quickly by Marcassin’s standards, meaning they are probably best drunk in their first decade of life." Lemon, mint, flowers and pastry are beautifully woven together in this delicate, understated Chardonnay. The wine was fermented in equal parts concrete, neutral oak and stainless steel and aged for 18 months in neutral oak. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2017. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Batard-Montrachet covers every inch of the palate with fruit. In 2010, the Batard is towering, statuesque and simply impeccable. Today the aromas and flavors are not at all developed, rather the wine is really all about textural elegance and finesse, and there is plenty of that here. A huge, explosive finish rounds things out in style. The Batard is a wine of contrasts. At times it is quite bold and extroverted, at others it possesses admirable restraint. This extraordinary effort is unquestionably the 'Chardonnay of the Vintage.' In fact, it may be the 'Chardonnay of the Decade.' Bid on this magnum of 2010 Wind Gap "Ritchie Creek Vineyard" Spring Mountain District Blaufrankisch (1.5L) (92W&S, 91RP, 90ST). Wine & Spirits: "Every once in a while, a wine breaks out of a blind tasting and alters the mood of the panel. It triggers happiness rather than making a case for pleasure. There’s nothing in my notes that can explain it: cool, saturated raspberry and rose scents, spicy, tight, lovely. Associate editor Luke Sykora described this as “totally fresh;” Gianpaolo Paterlini of Acquerello said, “It comes forward powerfully, then finishes clean.” Perhaps it’s just the right thing to grow on the flank of Spring Mountain, where Pete Minor had initially planted Pinot Noir. It’s a cool, forested area at an elevation of 1,200 feet near Ritchie Creek and the grapes weren’t ripening consistently; he tried Viognier, but wasn’t satisfied with that either. His neighbor, an Austrian, suggested he plant Blaufränkisch, and they decided to travel to Austria, bringing back budwood

2009 Domaine Didier Dagueneau Pouilly Fumé
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Domaine Didier Dagueneau Pouilly Fumé ((91-92RP)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "There is as usual nothing mundane about the 'basic' Dagueneau cuvee, the estate’s 2009 Blanc Fume de Pouilly. This is the sole cuvee at its address to blend across two soil types--Marne chalk and silex--as well as across several far-flung parcels, some of which were hailed on this year, and the parts had not yet been assembled for this 2009 when I tasted in June, so I offer only a composite impression. Smoky red currant, lime, and nettle display an aromatic pungency that coincides with a bright, energetic, silken-textured, very pure palate impression. White peach and wafting florality are conveyed by the (in this vintage, one-third) Marne chalk portion. The suffusion of chalk here is as usual impressive without in any way blocking the mouth-watering flow of fruit, and the same can be said as far as the influence of wood is concerned. This finishes with vibratory intensity

Fat and chewy in the mouth; round and full but not a bit heavy. Conveys good spicy, dusty minerality but this is quite unforthcoming today and in need of patience. " (09/2011)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2008 Domaine Leflaive Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru "Folatieres" ((90-92BH)). "Outstanding" and 90-92 points Allen Meadows: "A high-toned and clearly more elegant nose of green fruit, spice, stone and subtle floral nuances combines with detailed and admirably understated naturally sweet and minerally flavors that are striking in their purity, all wrapped in a long, linear and quite finely balanced finish. A wine of pungent minerality and finesse." (Tasted: Jun 01, 2010)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2005 Chardonnay McCrea Vineyard exhibits a light green/gold color as well as beautiful aromas of lemon oil, tangerine rind, and subtle wood spices, zesty acidity, full body, superb concentration, and stunning length. It should evolve for 7-10 years. Kistler Vineyards, undeniably one of the world’s finest winemaking estates, is run with passionate dedication to detail and quality by Steve Kistler and Mark Bixler. It is wines like these that keep an old critic like me inspired and energized. (RP)" (12/2006)

This fresh, beautifully fruited, medium to full-bodied, rich wine should drink well for 10-12 years. Production from this four-acre vineyard is generally around 1,000 cases. (RP)" (12/2014)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2012 Domaine Vincent Dauvissat Chablis 1er Cru "La Forest" (95AG, 94WE, (92-93RP), 92BH). Antonio Galloni: "The 2012 Chablis La Forest is one of the most reticent wines in this range. Here it is the wine's phenolic weight and vertical sense of structure that stand out. Lemon oil, ash, smoke and petrol are some of the many nuances that inform a tightly-wound finish that never really opens up. The 2012 Forest is a wine for the patient, but it is shaping up to be a gem. (AG)" (08/2014)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Domaine Didier Dagueneau "Silex" Pouilly-Fumé ((93-94RP)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "From an enclave just outside the cuverie in Saint Andelain, the Dagueneau 2009 Blanc Fume de Pouilly Silex delivers an almost inordinate diversity of floral, herbal, citrus (predominately grapefruit), and pit-fruit (predominately nectarine) elements, with the bitterness of fruit pits, smoky pungency of red currant and crushed stone, as well as notes of shrimp shell reduction and iodine inflecting a long, bittersweet, yet at the same time vibrant, buoyant finish. This silken textured seducer should gain with time in bottle and be worth following for ten or a dozen years. (DS)" (08/2010)

Its evolved light gold color is accompanied by a provocative nose of crushed rocks interwoven with orange liqueur, hazelnuts, and earth. Of the 2005 Nickel & Nickel "Darien Vineyard" Russian River Valley Syrah,Wine Enthusiast writes: "This is an interesting and compelling young Syrah that impresses not only for the depth of flavor, but for the superb structure, which suggests moderate aging. Firm, dusty tannins and fine acidity form the architecture. 1979 Stony Hill Napa Valley Chardonnay
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1979 Stony Hill Napa Valley Chardonnay. First produced in 1952, Stony Hills Chardonnay is more reminiscent of the Chablis of Burgundy than of today’s California Chardonnays. As a result, Stony Hill Chardonnays are eminently age worthy and grow in richness and depth for many years after bottling.

Bid on this magnum of 2004 Bouchard Pere et Fils Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru "La Cabotte" (1.5L) ((93-96BH), 96WE, 94ST). Wine Enthusiast: "This comes from high up in the Chevalier-Montrachet vineyard, from vines surrounding a small workers shed, the 'cabotte.' It is the better of the two bottlings from this vineyard by Bouchard, although 'better' here is like differentiating between two stars on top form. It has great poise, so although the richness is there, it is shot through with acidity and citric flavors that underline the huge, ripe fruit. Age for 10 years for best results." (12/2006)

Allen Meadows - Burghound: "*Don't Miss!* This is cut from the same cloth as the Folatières as it is tremendously elegant with white flower, spice and beautifully complex aromas that merge seamlessly into strikingly beautiful and textured medium weight plus flavors trimmed in noticeable but not dominant wood on the intensely mineral finish that seems to go on and on. Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2007 Brocard Chablis Grand Cru "Les Preuses" (94BH, 90RP, 90ST). Bid on this 2-magnum lot of 2004 Domaine William Fevre Chablis Grand Cru "Les Preuses" (1.5L) (95BH, 94RP, 93ST). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This brilliant effort is evolving very much along the lines that I originally expected that it might and it has arrived on the front edge of full maturity. The elegant and highly complex nose is wonderfully classy and it clearly speaks of its origins as do the rich yet delineated medium-bodied flavors brimming with a subtle minerality and outstanding length. About the only nit is that the finish of this most recent bottle is perhaps not quite as persistent as I remember but overall, this is flat out terrific. I would continue to hold this for another year or two but it would be no vinous crime to dip into this now. Consistent notes." (05/2011)

This medium-bodied, gorgeously proportioned dry white Graves exhibits flavors of figs, citrus, and white flowers.
