2003 Dom Pérignon "Luminous" Brut Champagne (1.5L)
Bid on this 3-magnum lot of 2003 Dom Pérignon "Luminous" Brut Champagne (1.5L) (94RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: " ... The 2003 is a big, powerful Champagne that will require quite a bit of time to shed some of its baby fat. The trademark textural finesse is there, though. I expect the 2003 to be a highly divisive Champagne because of its extreme personality, but then again, many of the world’s legendary wines were made from vintages considered freakish at the time. The 2003 is an atypically, rich, powerful, vinous Dom Perignon loaded with fruit, structure and personality. It is not for the timid, but rather it is a wine for those who can be patient. No one has a crystal ball, but personally I will not be surprised if in 20 years’ time the 2003 is considered an iconic Champagne. Anticipated maturity: 2016-2038. 94+ points. (AG)" (11/2011)

2003 Montrose, St-Estèphe
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2003 Montrose, St-Estèphe (98RP, 97JS, 96VN, 95WE, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2003 Montrose was served blind in Bordeaux on two occasions. Picked between 11 to 26 September, it is a blend of 62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot. It remains one of the outstanding wines of a very black and white vintage. Without knowledge of the vintage, I was hesitant to suggest 2003, because though there is clearly fruit intensity locked up inside this Saint Estèphe, it is counterbalanced by the estate's trademark masculinity and austerity. So both on the nose and the palate it reaches this happy medium: pure blackberry, graphite and roasted herbs on the nose, perhaps even more elegant than I have observed on previous bottles. The palate is medium-bodied rather than full bodied with sturdy tannins couched in layers of seamless blackberry and cassis fruit, offset by scents of tobacco and graphite. As usual it has immense le

2003 Scarecrow Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (OWC)
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2003 Scarecrow Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (OWC - 98RP, 91WE, 91WS) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This inky purple-colored wine has an extraordinary nose of sweet black cherry jam intermixed with licorice, spice box, and cedar. It has sensational richness, but the purity, elegance, and overall nuance of this wine are what set it apart and give it a very distinctive character all its own. This is a fabulous Cabernet Sauvignon and another terrific 2003 that can be drunk now or cellared for 15-20 or more years. (RP)" (12/2006)

2003 Margaux, Margaux
Bid on this bottle of 2003 Margaux, Margaux (97JS, 97RP, 96ST, 96WE, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: " ... There are faint scents of rust iron piping that develop with further aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly dry tannin, offering more fruit than the 2003 Valandraud it was paired with: feisty black pepper and allspice finish with a decent aftertaste. There might be better bottles than this, even so, there is probably not another Margaux that touches this First Growth. I see no harm in broaching bottles now and over the next ten years. Tasted December 2016. (NM)" (02/2017)

2003 Mouton Rothschild, Pauillac
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2003 Mouton Rothschild, Pauillac (95VN, 93ST). Vinous: "A heady, exotic wine, the 2003 Mouton Rothschild takes hold of all the senses. The ripeness and exuberance of the year comes through in spades as this dramatic, opulent wine shows off its radiant personality. The 2003 can be enjoyed now, but it could also use another few years for the tannins to soften. Still, the 2003 is pretty hard to resist today. This is an exceptional, deeply satisfying Mouton endowed with notable richness but also exceptional balance. Hints of toffee, torrefaction and dark spices are laced into the finish. In 2003 the blend is 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot, all brought in between a fairly narrow window of ten days between September 15 and 25. 2003 Harlan "Estate" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (OWC)
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2003 Harlan "Estate" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (OWC - 98RP, 98WE, 95ST) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the most backward yet promising wines of the vintage is the 2003 Harlan Estate. Its dense opaque plum/purple color is accompanied by a sumptuous bouquet of graphite, camphor, creme de cassis, smoky barbecue wood and a hint of forest floor. Similar flavors hit the mouth with full-bodied splendor, a multidimensional mouthfeel and texture, and the sensational finish lasts more than 45 seconds. Some tannins are still present, and this wine seems much younger than expected at ten years of age, so give it 4-5 more years of bottle age and consume it over the following 20-25 years. 2003 Araujo "Eisele Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2003 Araujo "Eisele Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (96RP, 94ST, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Absolutely superb, this 2003 is drinking beautifully. This blend of 88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot from the famous hillside Eisele Vineyard in northeast Napa Valley tips the scales at 14.5% natural alcohol. Gorgeously fresh black currant and black raspberry notes intermixed with spring flowers and forest floor jump from the glass from one of the most aromatically complex wines of the vintage. Medium to full-bodied with sweet fruit, velvety, melted, integrated tannin, a round, generous mouthfeel and no evidence of oak, this is a classy, elegant as well as substantial beauty that continues to age well. It may even be superior to Araujo’s 2002, which, on paper, is a better vintage. The seductive, alluring 2003 should remain at this level for another 5-8 years, but there is no reason to defer your gratification. Bravo! (

2003 Tenuta San Guido "Sassicaia" Bolgheri
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2003 Tenuta San Guido "Sassicaia" Bolgheri (96W&S, 93RP, 93VN, 92WS, 91WE). Wine & Spirits: "Great terroirs often prove themselves in the most extreme vintages, as Sassicaia has done in the violent heat of 2003. The vineyard produced a supple, subtle and elegant wine. To describe the fruit character one might resort to analogies with black currant and smoky black tea, but it's more a textural experience for now, a mass of pleasure, hard to grasp. Its oak treatment delivers the kind of heady richness found in young Latour; its soil character provides a completely different context, though no less grand. Probably best starting at ten to fifteen years of age, this is balanced to develop for years after that." (04/2007)

Of the 2003 Sine Qua Non "Mr. K The Noble Man" Chardonnay (375ml),Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar writes: "Medium gold. Knockout nose offers pure botrytis aromas of orange oil, apricot, clove, marzipan, chocolate and mocha. Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2003 Château de Beaucastel Châteauneuf-du-Pape (95WE, 94WS, 92ST, 91W&S, 90RP). Wine Enthusiast: " *Editors' Choice* One of the big names of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, and this wine justifies the fame of the Perrin family’s property. It is a rich style, but, more importantly, it is beautifully made, structured, dense, with red jelly fruits, a touch of vanilla and a fat, full-bodied, but firm aftertaste. This is a wine for aging—give it at least five years before touching it. (RV)" (12/2005)

2003 Dom Pérignon "Luminous" Brut Champagne (3L)
Bid on this 3L-bottle lot of 2003 Dom Pérignon "Luminous" Brut Champagne (3L) (94RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2003 is one of the most unusual Dom Perignons I have ever tasted, going back to 1952. Readers will remember that 2003 was a torrid vintage across northern Europe...The 2003 Dom Perignon is a big, broad shouldered wine. It does not have the seductiveness of the 2000, nor the power of the 2002. It is instead very much its own wine. In 2003 Geoffroy elected to use more Pinot Noir than is typically the case, and that comes through in the wine’s breath and volume. This intense, voluptuously textured, full-bodied St.-Julien possesses low acidity and ripe tannin.
