2003 Domaine Ponsot Charmes Chambertin Grand Cru "Cuvee des Merles" (1.5L) (OWC)
Bid on this magnum lot of 2003 Domaine Ponsot Charmes Chambertin Grand Cru "Cuvee des Merles" (1.5L) in original wood. From the domaine: "At Domaine Ponsot we produce wines uninfluenced by fashion. These choice are not dictated by a kind of occultism resulting from what today is known as "non-interventionism". On the contrary, it is much more difficult to resist the temptation, however human it may be, to correct such and such a defect appearing during the maturation of the wine, or to take action earlier in the process and modify vine cultivation in order to standardise quality and protect against climatic hazards. We love Wine. We love it because it's alive."

2003 Maison Leroy Bourgogne Rouge
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2003 Maison Leroy Bourgogne Rouge. From S. Irene Virbilia in the LA Times: "This is classic Pinot Noir from one of the greatest names in Burgundy. Domaine Leroy's lineup ranges from this Bourgogne Rouge at about $35 to bottles costing several hundred dollars. And though the price may seem high for an entry-level Burgundy, the 2003 Bourgogne Rouge is better than many premier crus at twice the price. With its gorgeous fruit and exquisite balance, this is no simple Burgundy, and Lalou Bize-Leroy is no average winemaker. Get it before it's snatched off the shelves. No need to put it away: It's drinking beautifully now. Pour it with grilled duck breast, lamb chops or a simple steak." (6/2007)

Of the 2003 Chateau Montelena "Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "A big wine from the Barrett family (14.2% alcohol), this 2003 exhibits earthy black currant fruit, the restrained but intense Montelena style, full body, good richness and impeccable balance, purity and density. The color is a healthy dark ruby/purple and the wine shows lots of cassis. In spite of the restrained aromatics, the palate is rich, full-bodied, substantial and persuasive ... 94+ (RP)" (06/2013)

2003 Harlan Estate Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2003 Harlan Estate Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (98RP, 98WE, 95ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the most backward yet promising wines of the vintage is the 2003 Harlan Estate. Its dense opaque plum/purple color is accompanied by a sumptuous bouquet of graphite, camphor, creme de cassis, smoky barbecue wood and a hint of forest floor. Similar flavors hit the mouth with full-bodied splendor, a multidimensional mouthfeel and texture, and the sensational finish lasts more than 45 seconds. Some tannins are still present, and this wine seems much younger than expected at ten years of age, so give it 4-5 more years of bottle age and consume it over the following 20-25 years. 98+ (RP)" (06/2013)

Of the 2003 d'Arenberg "The Dead Arm" Shiraz McLaren Vale South Australia,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "One of this estate’s flagship wines, the 2003 The Dead Arm Shiraz appears to be better than the 2002. A deeper, richer, fuller-bodied offering that spent time in equal parts French and American oak, it possesses an opaque purple color, great intensity, and a fabulously sweet nose of blackberries, cassis, asphalt, earth, and oak. Powerful, super-concentrated, and obviously fashioned from low yields and old vines, this is a classic McLaren Vale old vine Shiraz that should age nicely for 15+ years. (RP)" (10/2005)

2003 Mitolo "GAM" Shiraz McLaren Vale South Australia
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2003 Mitolo "GAM" Shiraz McLaren Vale South Australia ((96-100RP), 94JH). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The spectacular, dense ruby/purple-colored 2003 Shiraz G. A. M. (named after the Mitolo family’s three children) exhibits aromas of lead pencil shavings, blackberries, blueberries, cassis, licorice, new oak, and scorched earth. This complex 2003 comes across as a hypothetical blend of a great La Mission-Haut-Brion from Bordeaux and a Rhone Valley Hermitage such as Chapoutier's Pavillon. Everything is seamlessly integrated into this tour de force in winemaking. (RP)" (10/2004)

2003 Larkmead "Solari Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2003 Larkmead "Solari Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (96RP, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon Solari Reserve is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon aged 19 months in three-fourths new French oak from the well-known cooper of Sylvain. Named after the Solari family that purchased Larkmead in 1948, this cuvee is essentially an homage to their pioneer and visionary spirits. A dense ruby/purple color is followed by notes of cassis, flowers, and a subtle touch of vanillin. The fruit dominates the aromatics, and the purity is striking (a characteristic of all these wines) in this full-bodied, multidimensional effort. It is a terrific example of what Larkmead has been doing so impressively over the last decade. The alcohol is 14.7% with a finished pH of 3.86, which puts it in line with such great Bordeaux vintages as 2009. This 2003 is accessible now, but it has 25-30 years of cellaring potential. 2003 Mommessin Grand Cru Clos de Tart
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2003 Mommessin Grand Cru Clos de Tart (95WS, 92BH, 92ST). Wine Spectator: " **Top 100 Wines of 2006 - Collectibles** Aromas of tar and smoke, with very pure, concentrated blackberry and spice notes underneath mark this exotic, seductive red. Silky and complex, it caresses the palate. It needs a little time to absorb the oak, but this is long and has great potential. Best from 2009 through 2030." (05/2006)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2003 Querciabella "Camartina" Toscana (OWC - 93RP, 92ST, 91WE, 91WS) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "At the risk of sounding like a broken record, the 2003 Camartina is a drop-dead gorgeous effort. Fat, rich and opulent, it will reward consumers with its generous super-ripe fruit, great length and beautiful overall balance. While it doesn’t look to be one of the more long-lived Camartinas, with some air it is drinking beautifully today. It is a very refined effort in this vintage. Anticipated maturity: 2007-2018. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2003 Moet & Chandon "Cuvée Dom Pérignon" Brut Champagne (95VN, 95WS, 94RP). Wine Spectator: " **Collectibles** The whole is greater than the sum of the parts in this harmonious version. A delicate bead caresses the mouth, while flavors of currant pâte de fruit, dried apricot, pastry and pickled ginger expand on the palate. Subtly floral, with a fine frame of acidity driving this to the mouthwatering finish of smoky mineral and dried fruit. Drink now through 2030. " (11/2013)

2003 Pierre Usseglio "Mon Aïeul" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum lot of 2003 Pierre Usseglio "Mon Aïeul" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (1.5L) (96RP, 94WS, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A star of the vintage is the 2006 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Mon Aieul. It is hard to believe how great this wine has turned out to be. I called it last year, and I’m thrilled to see how utterly profound it is. Essentially very old vine Grenache from three different terroirs (the sands of Les Serres, the clay of Guignasse, and the limestone of La Crau), aged 80% in cement tanks and 20% in old barrels, it boasts a dense plum/purple color followed by a glorious bouquet of black cherries, blackberries, truffles, lavender, licorice, and spring flowers. The color is one of the darkest of the vintage, and the wine is extremely full-bodied and rich with intense levels of extract and tannin, but the latter is gorgeously sweet and well-integrated. Still young and primary, this 2006 will benefit from 2-4 years of bottle age, and drink well for 15-20. (RP)" (10
