2014 Cayuse "En Cerise" Walla Walla Valley Syrah
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2014 Cayuse "En Cerise" Walla Walla Valley Syrah ((94-96RP)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2014 Syrah En Cerise was a touch more streamlined and reticent on this occasion, yet still offers beautiful black cherry and cassis fruits, underbrush and a hint of espresso roast in a full-bodied, silky, elegant style. Like all of Christophe’s wines, it will benefit from short-term cellaring. (JD)" (06/2016)

1988 Auguste Clape Cornas
Bid on this bottle of 1988 Auguste Clape Cornas. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1988 Cornas is a more tender style of Cornas than I am used to from Clape; it is not as concentrated as the 1989. It also comes across as lighter, softer, and not nearly as rich and full as most of this estate's wines tend to be. It is drinking surprisingly well at the moment. While some may applaud both the 1989's and 1988's lack of the forbiddingly raw, hard tannin that the savage wines of Cornas can possess, it is those characteristics that I feel make Cornas so distinctive, and repay those who cellar it for 10 or more years. 1977 Penfolds "Grange" Hermitage (Shiraz) South Australia
Bid on this bottle of 1977 Penfolds "Grange" Hermitage (Shiraz) South Australia (93RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This is considered a good rather than outstanding Grange, but I have consistently found this wine to be superb. A blend of 91% and 9% Cabernet Sauvignon from a relatively cool growing year, this wine has full body and a gorgeously complex nose of coffee, creme de cassis, caramel, leather, and a subtle hint of pepper and eucalyptus. The wine is very rich, still somewhat unevolved, with more new oak showing through than most vintages of Grange. The wine still has a dense ruby/purple color and seems to need at least another 3-4 years to reach full maturity, with a very sweet, chewy style but exceptional balance. (RP)" (01/2002)

1991 Rene Rostaing "La Landonne" Côte-Rôtie
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1991 Rene Rostaing "La Landonne" Côte-Rôtie (94RP, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Perhaps the best of the 1991s from Rene Rostaing is the 1991 Cote Rotie La Landonne. As you might anticipate, there is considerable rivalry between Rostaing and his neighbor, Guigal. Rostaing is quick to assert that his La Landonne vines are considerably older than those of Guigal. This black-colored wine offers up an exquisite perfume of licorice, violets, black-berries, and toast, staggering concentration, smooth tannin, and low acidity. It is a gorgeous, exceptionally opulent, multidimensional wine with layers of flavor. It should drink well for 10-15 years. Rene Rostaing's 1991s offer persuasive evidence of just how impressive this vintage is in Cote Rotie." (12/1996)

Bid on this bottle of 2012 Saxum "Bone Rock - James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Syrah (99RP, 94VN, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Syrah James Berry Vineyard Bone Rock is the star of the show in 2012. Borderline perfection, it has straight up awesome notes of black and blue fruits, pepper, crushed violets and searing chalky minerality that shows on both the nose and palate. 1982 Penfolds "Grange" Hermitage (Shiraz) South Australia
Bid on this bottle of 1982 Penfolds "Grange" Hermitage (Shiraz) South Australia (97JS, 97RP, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1982 is another superb example of that. One of the jammiest, most precocious Granges when it was released, it has never gone through a closed stage and continues to drink beautifully. A full-bodied, opulent Grange, it reveals an inky/purple color to the rim as well as a beautiful nose of crushed blueberries, blackberries, smoke, toast, roasted herbs, and road tar. This dense, plush, expansive, seamless, seductive 1982 has not changed much since I had it nearly a decade ago. (RP)" (06/2009)

2014 Cayuse "En Chamberlin" Walla Walla Valley Syrah
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2014 Cayuse "En Chamberlin" Walla Walla Valley Syrah ((96-98RP)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Always the most exotic in the lineup, the meaty, iron, black olive and floral-scented 2014 Syrah en Chamberlin Vineyard has a big core of ripe tannin and sweet fruit in its full-bodied, exuberant style. Given the polish to its tannin, it should drink nicely in its youth, but I suspect it will be at its best from 2020-2034. Looking at these latest releases from Cayuse, the 2013s are surprisingly elegant and silky, with less overall concentration and depth than I expected after tasting them from barrel last year. They possess slightly lighter, translucent colors, moderate to good concentration and polished tannin. At times I was wishing for a touch more exuberance and texture. Nevertheless, these are silky, seamless, elegant wines that will be fun to follow over the coming decade or more. The 2014s also lean towards the more elegant, streamlined end of the spectru

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2006 Clarendon Hills "Astralis" Syrah McLaren Vale South Australia (99RP, 98WS, 95ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2006 Astralis has stunning nose redolent of warm blackberries, meat, toast and charcoal, infused with notes of smoked duck, anise and a slight bit of peat. Though still very youthful, this big, rich, and powerful full-bodied wine has firm yet velvety tannins, a vibrant acid line and is very long on the finish. Drink it now to 2026+. (LPB)" (02/2014)

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2010 K Vintners "The Hidden-Northridge Vineyard" Wahluke Slope Syrah (98RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Moving back to the estate’s top Syrahs, the 2010 Syrah The Hidden Northridge Vineyard comes from the warmer, Wahluke slope AVA and was fermented with 50% whole cluster prior to aging in 100% new 500-Liter French oak puncheons. An incredible wine, it possesses off the hook aromas and flavors of meaty black fruits, cedar box, exotic spice and smoked herbs as well as a decadent, massively fruited, structured and full-bodied palate. Deep, rich and layered on the mid-palate and showing awesome length on the finish, this absolutely fabulous Syrah will be even better in another 2-3 years and have 15+ years of ultimate longevity. Big, rich and structured, it has phenomenal purity and elegance given its size and delivers a big dose of tannin on the huge finish. Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2009 Araujo "Eisele" Napa Valley Syrah (96RP, 95WS, (93-94JS), 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Syrah Eisele Vineyard stands out for its textural elegance and finesse. Dark berries, flowers and mint are some of the many nuances that come together in this silky, totally captivating wine. The 2009 has never been the most varietally expressive Syrah from the Eisele Vineyard, but it is exceptionally polished, sexy and pure. One hundred percent Syrah aged 20 months in 45% new oak, these rather rare soils have offered up a note with black fruits, crushed rocks, new saddle leather, licorice and white chocolate. Terrific fruit intensity, a full-bodied, sumptuous texture, and a long finish of close to 50 seconds make for a magnificent Syrah to drink over the next two decades. (RP)" (03/2016)

Performing better from bottle than it did from barrel, this prodigious red exhibits incredibly velvety tannins, a seamless style, and no noticeable oak (which is remarkable given the fact it spent 32 months in barrel). 2008 Sine Qua Non "B 20" Syrah
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2008 Sine Qua Non "B 20" Syrah (95RP, 94JS, 94ST, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2008 Syrah B-20 is a cool, inward wine graced with layers of beautifully delineated, chiseled fruit. This is a distinctly mineral, precise style relative to the more outgoing 2009, but both are striking. Floral notes add lift as the finish turns explosive with a burst of dark fruit, tar, licorice and crushed rocks. This is one of the more understated wines readers are likely to come across from Sine Qua Non. It is gorgeous when given the time to open up. The B-20 is predominantly Syrah, with 6% Grenache and 2% Viognier. About half of the Grenache was fermented with whole clusters and the wine was aged in French oak (60% new) for 26 months. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2011 Sine Qua Non "Dark Blossom" California Syrah (99RP, 96VN, (94-95ST)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2011 Syrah Dark Blossom showed even better from bottle than barrel. A blend of 84% Syrah, 8% Grenache, 4% Petite Sirah and the rest Roussanne and Petite Manseng, this beauty was fermented with 17% whole clusters and aged in equal parts new and used French oak. One of the shining successes in the vintage, it’s a full-bodied, concentrated and layered Syrah that has awesome aromatics of blackcurrants, Peking duck, pepper, licorice and charcuterie in its seamless, thrillingly pure profile. As with Manfred’s other 2011s, the tannins are certainly present, yet they’re sweet, polished and have no hard edges. Give this beauty 2-3 years in the cellar and enjoy bottles through 2031.
