Of the 2011 Cayuse "Cailloux Vineyard" Walla Walla Valley Syrah,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "The 2011 Syrah Cailloux Vineyard is the only Syrah to incorporate a splash of cofermented Viognier, which in some vintages, can be as much as 10% of the blend. Including 5% in 2011, it has a fabulous perfume of crunchy black fruit, crushed rocks, smoked earth and layers of violets and crushed flowers. Straight-up awesome on the palate, with full-bodied richness and a seamless texture, it opens up in the glass, has superb concentration and blockbuster length. Give it another 2-3 years and enjoy bottles through 2026, although it will certainly evolve longer as well. (JD)" (06/2014)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The greatest Crozes-Hermitage Domaine de Thalabert since the magnificent 1990 is the 2009. Jaboulet has nearly 100 acres in this appellation, and the 2009, which is bursting with potential, represents a great buy for Syrah lovers. Its dense purple color is followed by an explosive bouquet of blackberries, sweet cherries, licorice, Provencal olives, graphite and subtle smoke. Full-bodied with silky tannins as well as a terrific mouthfeel and palate penetration, this gorgeous offering should drink well for 15 or more years. (RP)" (12/2011)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2015 Andremily "No. 4" Santa Barbara County Syrah (OWC - (97-99JD), 97RP, (92-95VN)) in original wood. Jeb Dunnuck: "A terrific follow-up to the heavenly 2014, the 2015 Andremily No 4 is another wine from Jim that’s going to be in the top 2-3 wines of the vintage. A Syrah dominated blend that incorporates 6% Viognier and 4% Mourvèdre, it sports an inky purple color as well as incredible notes of liquid violets, blueberry liqueur, white chocolate, pen ink and lead pencil. Showing more classic peppery, Syrah notes with time in the glass, this opulent, decadent, yet always pure and precise 2015 will benefit from short term cellaring and have two decades of more of ultimate longevity. 2010 Saxum "Bone Rock - James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Syrah
Bid on this bottle of 2010 Saxum "Bone Rock - James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Syrah (99RP, 97VN, 96ST, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Coming from a steep, terraced plot of head-trained Syrah, the 2010 James Berry Vineyard Bone Rock (90% Syrah and 10% Roussanne) is easily the most structured, intense wine in the lineup. Sporting absolutely off-the-hook aromas of smoked meats, black fruits, liquid mineral, pepper, and cigar wrapper, it flows onto the palate with a thick, incredibly rich texture that somehow manages to stay light and fresh. A total behemoth, it needs time to fully flesh out, yet is up there with some of the most monumental young wines I’ve tasted. It should be forgotten for 3-4 years, and then consumed over the following two decades. (JD)" (07/2014)

2013 Cayuse "Bionic Frog" Walla Walla Valley Syrah
Bid on this bottle of 2013 Cayuse "Bionic Frog" Walla Walla Valley Syrah (97RP, 96VN, 95WE, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The only wine to see partial aging in foudre (20% new), the 2013 Syrah Bionic Frog has an almost Burgundian flair in its forest floor, olive brine, smoked earth, dried flower and darker fruit-styled personality. One of the more streamlined, elegant examples of this cuvee, it still has a serious, lengthy feel, full-bodied richness and building underlying structure that makes me think 3-5 years of cellaring are warranted. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "The 2007 Syrah Cumulus Vineyard is a meaty, earthy effort representing a hypothetical blend of a northern Rhone with the exuberant, unabashedly ripe, juicy fruit of California. Jus de viande, damp earth, black currant, and blackberry notes along with good minerality and an absence of oak are all present in this full-bodied Syrah. It still has some tannins to resolve, but it is a big, full-bodied, classic, promising debut effort from the Cumulus Vineyard. It should drink well for at least a decade. This is the debut release of the Ventura County home estate of Manfred Krankl’s vineyard, which is a separate entity from his Sine Qua Non wines. Composed of 92% Syrah, 6% Grenache, and 2%

2010 Saxum "Booker Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend
Bid on this bottle of 2010 Saxum "Booker Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (98RP, 95VN, 94ST, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Syrah Booker Vineyard - a blend of 81% Syrah and 19% Mourvedre - is about as textbook a representation of a Paso Robles Syrah as I can think of. Locked and loaded with notions of ripe black and blue fruits, smoke, bouquet garni, espresso, and licorice, it is unabashedly full-bodied, rich, and yet elegant on the palate. Showing real class, as well as first-rate freshness, superb depth and concentration, and masses of tannin, this blockbuster Syrah needs a solid 3-4 years of bottle age to flesh out, and will keep for 15-20 years or more. A benchmark estate for California, Saxum, under the helm of superstar winemaker Justin Smith, continues to produce some of the most compelling, profound wines on the planet. While Smith’s wines are always full-flavored and intense, there has been a stylistic change over recent vintages, with the wines showing more

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2013 Sine Qua Non "Male" California Syrah (98RP, 96VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Like with the 2013 Grenache, I was thrilled to be able to taste the 2013 Syrah Male again (twist my arm), and it continues to impress. Giving up fabulous blackberry, bouquet garni, peppery herbs and minerality, this full-bodied, beautifully textured, concentrated and layered Syrah has ultra-fine tannin, impeccable balance and a great finish. It needs 2-4 years of cellaring and will see its 20th birthday in fine form. (JD)" (08/2016)

Bid on this bottle of 2001 Penfolds "Grange" Shiraz South Australia (98RP, 96JH, 96W&S, 94ST, 93WE, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "It is always a treat to taste Australia’s most famous wine, Penfolds’ Grange cuvee (the word Hermitage has been dropped because of legal issues). The 2001 Grange is one of the few vintages of this cuvee to be composed of 100% Shiraz (the others being 1951, 1952, 1963, 1999, and 2000). Aged 17 months in 100% American oak, and tipping the scales at 14.5% alcohol, the 2001 is undeniably one of the top examples of this wine. At this stage, it appears to eclipse the 1998 and 1996. Inky/blue/purple to the rim, with a stunning perfume of blueberries, blackberries, chocolate, graphite, and earth, it boasts good acidity, huge tannins, magnificent concentration, and a multilayered, textured mouthfeel. 1994 Rene Rostaing "Côte Blonde" Côte-Rôtie
Bid on this bottle of 1994 Rene Rostaing "Côte Blonde" Côte-Rôtie (94RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1994s are excellent to outstanding, exhibiting plenty of opulence, power, and sweet fruit. The most hedonistic and voluptuously-textured cuvee is the Cote Rotie Cote Blonde. The 1994 (from two parcels of vines, one 35 years of age and one 80 years of age) exhibits a knock-out, sweet, expansive, penetratingly fragrant nose of flowers, rich, ripe cassis fruit, cedar, and black-raspberries. The wine possesses an opulent texture, gorgeously unctuous, thick flavors, and a fabulous finish. It is a seductive Cote Rotie for drinking over the next 10-12 years. Interestingly, about 5% Viognier made it into the blend. (RP)" (10/1996)

Of the 2012 Alta Colina "GSM" Paso Robles Red Blend,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "A beautiful wine that would stand nicely beside top quality Chateauneuf du Papes, the 2012 GSM (52% Grenache, 26% Syrah and 22% Mourvedre) was completely destemmed and spent 18 months in 67% new French oak (Syrah), 25% new French oak (Mourvedre) and 8% new (Grenache). It's another beautiful looking 2013 that has tons of upfront appeal, full-bodied richness, incredible purity and a building, yet sweet, sweet tannin. Of the 2003 Kalleske "Greenock" Shiraz Barossa Valley South Australia,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "A barrel sample of the 2003 Shiraz Greenock appears to be a virtually perfect wine. Nevertheless, the incredible quality is present in its purity, focus, full-bodied richness and awesome finish. Then, suddenly, There’s a plush core of blackberry fruit, and the classic Cayuse funkiness is there, drenched in liquid rocks and cured meat and drying tannins. It’s all in proportion and a fine reflection of the steely vintage. As it opens gracefully you discover that it is a stunningly refined Frog, quite possibly the best ever; powerful and distinctive, but also elegant, feminine. (PG)" (11/2011)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2014 Andremily "No. 3" Santa Barbara County Syrah (100JD, 96RP, 93VN). Jeb Dunnuck: "Unquestionably one of the wines of the vintage, Jim Binns’ 2014 Andremily No 3 is a blend of 89% Syrah, 8% Mourvèdre and 3% Viognier that comes from three great sites in Santa Barbara County: Larner Vineyard, White Hawk and Alta Mesa (Mourvèdre). Tasted twice, this totally profound beauty offers up heavenly notes of crème de cassis, crushed violets, smoked meats, graphite and ample minerality in a full-bodied, expansive, yet pure, elegant and lengthy style. It needs to be forgotten for 2-3 years, and will have 15 years or more of overall longevity. Andremily’s Jim Binns continues to fashion some of the most exciting wines coming out of California today. Jim left Sine Qua Non last year to focus full time on his own label, and is now making his wines in Ventura. The wine is absolutely stunning, soaring from the glass in a vibrant blend of black raspberries, smoked meats, a touch of black olive, black pepper, stony soil tones, dark chocolate, a discrete framing of spicy new wood and a smoky topnote. A blend of 93% Syrah, 5% Petite Sirah and 2% Viognier, all from the Eleven Confessions Vineyard in the Sta. Rita Hills, it spent 40 months in 78% new French oak. Deep, concentrated, full-bodied and layered, with a multidimensional texture and to-die-for notes of camphor, cured meats, violets, smoke and assorted dark fruits, this beauty has fine, perfectly ripe tannin and blockbuster length. Give it 3-4 years and drink over the following two decades. (JD)" (08/2016)

2012 Alban "Reva" Edna Valley Syrah
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2012 Alban "Reva" Edna Valley Syrah (97RP, 95WS, 93VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "There are 750 cases (which means good yields for John, although any normal person would call 1.5-1.75 tons per acre financial suicide) of the 2012 Syrah Reva Alban Estate Vineyard, and it's a terrific vintage for this cuvee. Elegant, pretty, even finesse driven, with its classic marine and salty bouquet of smoke, purple fruits, olives and violets, this full-bodied Syrah has no hard edges, integrated acidity and a great finish. It's reasonably approachable now, but deserves 2-4 years of cellaring. After the cool, and then cold, 2010 and 2011 vintages, 2012 through 2014 is a return to the more generous, layered and voluptuous style of wine that this estate is known for. Looking at the 2013s, this was a more elegant and firm vintage for most of the State, yet these wines from John are loaded with fruit and texture, with incredible polish, ripeness and sweetness to their tann

2012 K Vintners "Cattle King - Upland Vineyard" Snipes Mountain Syrah
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2012 K Vintners "Cattle King - Upland Vineyard" Snipes Mountain Syrah (99RP, 95WE, 93VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the greatest Syrahs coming out of Washington is the 2012 Syrah Cattle King, and it's every bit as good as the more widely known Royal City Syrah. Coming from the Upland Vineyard on Snipes Mountain, my notes start with 'wow,' and then include a few more expletives. Exhibiting sensational notes of blackberry, cassis, licorice, crushed flowers, crushed rocks and graphite, this inky colored 2012 is full-bodied, massively concentrated and seamless, with incredible purity and length. If I had a bottle, I'd drink it tonight. Nevertheless, I'm sure it will evolve gracefully for at least another decade.(JD)" (06/2015)

2014 Sine Qua Non "Piranha Waterdance" California Syrah
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2014 Sine Qua Non "Piranha Waterdance" California Syrah (100RP, 99JD, (95-97VN), 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Blended of 81% Syrah, 8% Petite Sirah, 6% Mourvèdre, 4% Touriga Nacional and 1% Graciano, sourced from 34% The Third Twin, 35% Eleven Confessions and 31% Cumulus (all estate vineyards), the provocative, inky purple colored 2014 Syrah Piranha Waterdance was made using 26% whole cluster and hits the scent scene with exuberant, pure crème de cassis, blackberry cordial and blueberry coulis notes with hints of espresso, licorice, garrigue and menthol, plus a gorgeous underlying perfume of red roses. The full-bodied palate is oh-so-elegant and pretty, revealing very finely pixelated tannins that beautifully frame the almost electric intensity, culminating in an epically long, licorice and chocolate-laced finish. Too stunning for mere words and rude to even try--just drink it. (LPB)" (09/2017)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2013 Sine Qua Non "Le Supplément" Sta. Rita Hills Syrah (100JD, 100RP, 96VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Coming entirely from the Eleven Confessions Estate Vineyard and composed of 89% Syrah, 6% Petite Sirah, 3% Grenache and 2% Viognier, using 28% whole cluster, the 2013 Syrah Le Supplement is just starting to evolve into beguiling earthy/meaty tertiary notes with suggestions of sandalwood, mossy bark, black soil, patchouli and salami over a core of blackberry compote, preserved plums, mincemeat pie and star anise with a touch of dried lavender. Rich, concentrated and decadent, the full-bodied, opulent palate explodes with black fruits preserves peppered by meaty/savory nuances and culminating in epically lingering exotic spice notes.
