2010 M. Chapoutier "Le Méal" Ermitage Rouge
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 M. Chapoutier "Le Méal" Ermitage Rouge (99RP, 98WS, 95ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the stars of the retrospective was the 2010 Ermitage le Meal. This classic vintage yielded concentrated, fresh and structured wines and the 2010 has all of these traits in spades. Giving up a massive array of liquid rock, graphite, spring flowers, cassis and black raspberries, it hits the palate with full-bodied richness, a tight, structured, tannic mouthfeel and bright acidity, all while still showing incredible polish and elegance. It will certainly flirt with perfection at maturity, but is all about minerality and structure at the moment. Give this incredible effort 3-5 years of cellaring and enjoy it over the following 2-3 decades. (JD)" (09/2015)

2013 Booker "Estate" Paso Robles Syrah (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum lot of 2013 Booker "Estate" Paso Robles Syrah (1.5L) (96RP, 94VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Formerly labeled as the Alchemist, the 2013 Booker Estate is 84% Syrah, 11% Tempranillo and the rest a splash of Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot. Inky colored, deep, savory and spicy, with the Tempranillo front and center at the moment, it offers lots of dark fruits, truffle, dried spice and meaty aromatics, full-bodied richness and enough tannic grip to warrant another year or two in bottle. 2003 Henry's Drive "Reserve" Shiraz Padthaway South Australia
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2003 Henry's Drive "Reserve" Shiraz Padthaway South Australia (95RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2003 Shiraz Reserve, which I assume is made from the richest barrels, has all the same characteristics of the regular bottling, with more weight, opulence, and persistence. The 16% alcohol is beautifully concealed by its prodigious concentration. Readers who love the extroverted personalities of these wild and crazy Australian reds should drink it over the next 10-12 years." (10/2005)

2002 Henry's Drive "Reserve" Shiraz Padthaway South Australia
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2002 Henry's Drive "Reserve" Shiraz Padthaway South Australia (97RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2002 Shiraz Reserve tastes like a dry vintage port. It may be too much for those with a European palate (but then, I’m a Francophile with a European-styled palate and I loved it). It is flamboyant, extraordinarily rich, full-bodied, and intense, with gobs of blackberry and currant fruit backed up by extravagant levels of glycerin. The oak is largely concealed by the magnificent wealth of fruit. This is classic Australian Shiraz at its finest and is not duplicated anywhere else in the world, so enjoy it for what it is. It should drink well for a decade. (RP)" (10/2004)

Of the 2001 Marquis Philips "9" Shiraz McLaren Vale South Australia,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "The blockbuster 2001 Shiraz 9 (aged in 100% American oak for 12 months prior to bottling) boasts an opaque inky/blue/purple color as well as a stunning bouquet of melted licorice intermixed with creme de cassis, blackberries, white chocolate, and pepper. It possesses great flavor intensity, marvelous purity, and superb definition for such a sexy, opulent, blockbuster Shiraz fruit bomb. There is plenty of tannin under the wealth of glycerin and fruit, but this is a wine to enjoy now and over the next 12-15 years (RP). " (10/2002)

Aromas of fresh dark berries, candied flowers and star anise gain vivacity from a minerally element. Juicy and focused on the palate, offering vibrant black raspberry and bitter cherry flavors and a touch of cracked pepper. The floral note comes back strong on the subtly tannic finish, which lingers with excellent tenacity. (JR)" (03/2016)

Of the 2011 Sine Qua Non "Patine - Eleven Confessions Vineyard" Santa Rita Hills Syrah,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "A wine that needs to be forgotten in the cellar for 5-6 years, the 2011 Syrah Patine checks in as a blend of roughly 97% Syrah and the balance Roussanne and Viognier. It too comes all from the estate's Eleven Confessions Vineyard and saw 39 months in 63% new French oak. Backward, tight, concentrated and structured, with full-bodied richness and depth, it gives up Guigal La Landonne like aromas and flavors of graphite, sweet oak, smoked meats, pepper and black raspberry and cassis-like fruit. Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2012 K Vintners "Cattle King - Upland Vineyard" Snipes Mountain Syrah (99RP, 95WE, 93VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the greatest Syrahs coming out of Washington is the 2012 Syrah Cattle King, and it's every bit as good as the more widely known Royal City Syrah. Coming from the Upland Vineyard on Snipes Mountain, my notes start with 'wow,' and then include a few more expletives. Exhibiting sensational notes of blackberry, cassis, licorice, crushed flowers, crushed rocks and graphite, this inky colored 2012 is full-bodied, massively concentrated and seamless, with incredible purity and length. Bid on this bottle of 2010 Saxum "Bone Rock - James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Syrah (99RP, 97VN, 96ST, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Coming from a steep, terraced plot of head-trained Syrah, the 2010 James Berry Vineyard Bone Rock (90% Syrah and 10% Roussanne) is easily the most structured, intense wine in the lineup. Sporting absolutely off-the-hook aromas of smoked meats, black fruits, liquid mineral, pepper, and cigar wrapper, it flows onto the palate with a thick, incredibly rich texture that somehow manages to stay light and fresh. A total behemoth, it needs time to fully flesh out, yet is up there with some of the most monumental young wines I’ve tasted. It should be forgotten for 3-4 years, and then consumed over the following two decades. (JD)" (07/2014)

2004 Glaetzer "Godolphin" Shiraz-Cabernet Sauvignon Barossa Valley South Australia
Bid on this bottle of 2004 Glaetzer "Godolphin" Shiraz-Cabernet Sauvignon Barossa Valley South Australia ((96-98RP), 95JH). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This nearly perfect wine, made from 70% Shiraz (105- to 115-year-old vines) and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon (60- to 90-year-old vines), was cropped at a minuscule .5 to 1 ton of fruit per acre, and spent 15 months in French oak prior to bottling. Its gorgeously sweet, pure nose of crushed rocks, blueberries, cassis, and minerals soars from the glass. Floral-like black and blue fruits, an inky/purple color, and nearly endless depth and persistence on the palate are the stuff of legends. With extraordinary equilibrium, precision, and purity, it represents the apogee of Ben Glaetzer’s winemaking talents. (RP)" (10/2005)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2012 Sine Qua Non "Touche - Eleven Confessions Vineyard" Sta. Rita Hills Syrah (100RP, 98VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Lastly, the utterly perfect 2012 Syrah Touche reminds me of a great vintage of Guigal’s Cote Rotie La Landonne. A blend of 93% Syrah, 5% Petite Sirah and 2% Viognier, all from the Eleven Confessions Vineyard in the Sta. Rita Hills, it spent 40 months in 78% new French oak. Deep, concentrated, full-bodied and layered, with a multidimensional texture and to-die-for notes of camphor, cured meats, violets, smoke and assorted dark fruits, this beauty has fine, perfectly ripe tannin and blockbuster length. A massive wine that somehow holds everything together, it offers a wild array of cassis, blackberry, white chocolate, underbrush and pepper that flows to a full-bodied, layered Syrah that has masses of fine tannin and enough substance to evolve for decades. A blend of 85% Syrah, 5% Grenache, 3% Petite Sirah, 5% Roussanne and 2% Viognier that was fermented with 20% whole cluster and aged 22 months in 59% new French oak, it opens up beautifully in the glass and should be decanted if drinking anytime soon. 98+ (JD)" (08/2013)

Bid on this bottle of 2011 Saxum "Bone Rock - James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Syrah (98RP, 97VN, 95ST, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Decidedly cool climate in character, the 2011 James Berry Vineyard Bone Rock comes from steep, terraced plots of old head trained Syrah vines that, in 2011, wasn’t harvested until November. Co-fermented with a splash of Roussanne and Mourvedre, it’s a spectacular effort that makes the most of the cool, long growing season. It’s also the most long term prospect in the lineup. Offering up a tight, Cornas-like bouquet of black and blue fruits, white pepper, spring flowers and salty minerality, it is full-bodied, beautifully concentrated and seamless on the palate, with ultra-fine tannin and building richness that only starts to develop with a healthy decant. It’s a gorgeous wine, yet needs to be forgotten for at least 4-5 years. It should drink nicely through 2031. (JD)" (08/2014)

This is a relatively delicate, feminine Reva that impresses for its length, balance and utter purity of fruit. Dark red cherries, flowers, mint and silky, saline notes wrap around the expressive fruit on the long, polished finish. A hint of truffles adds to the wine’s sensual, totally beguiling personality. A compellingly textured, rich, super-endowed red, it combines power with finesse. (RP)" (10/2004)

2012 Sine Qua Non "Stock" Central Coast Syrah
Bid on this bottle of 2012 Sine Qua Non "Stock" Central Coast Syrah (98RP, 96VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A step up from the Grenache, the blockbuster-styled 2012 Syrah Stock checks in as a blend of 84% Syrah, 7% Grenache, 6% Petit Sirah, and the rest Viognier and Mourvedre, that was fermented with 32% whole clusters and aged in just over half new French oak. It offers stunning notes of blackcurrants, cassis, smoked meats, ground pepper and wild herbs to go with a full-bodied, unctuous, layered, yet always graceful and elegant feel on the palate. Nicely structured, with perfect overall balance, it still has the open-knit character of the vintage, yet has plenty of underlying structure, which at the moment is slightly hidden by the wine's lavish fruit. It will be better in 2-3 years, and have two decades of overall longevity. (JD)" (08/2015)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2012 K Vintners "The Hidden - Northridge Vineyard" Wahluke Slope Syrah (98RP, 93WE, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the most impressive Syrahs from Washington is Smith's The Hidden, which comes all from the Northridge Vineyard on the Wahluke slope. The 2012 Syrah The Hidden Northridge Vineyard certainly doesn't disappoint and has jaw-dropping good notes of black and blue fruits, ground pepper, violets, lavender and smoked meats that flow seamlessly to a voluptuously textured, full-bodied, still young and yet evolved Syrah that will benefit from short-term cellaring, and have 15 years or more of overall longevity. This is truly spectacular ... (JD)" (06/2015)

Bid on this bottle of 2005 Sine Qua Non "Atlantis fe203-1a" California Syrah (100RP, (94-95ST), 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The perfect 2005 Syrah Atlantis Fe 203-1a,b,c is a blend of 93% Syrah, 5% Grenache, and 2% Viognier, with 25% whole clusters. Whereas the Ode to E is all from the Eleven Confessions Vineyard, this cuvee is a combination of 43% from the estate vineyard, 28% from the White Hawk Vineyard, 21% from the Alban Vineyard, and 8% from the Bien Nacido Vineyard. The good news is there are nearly 1,500 cases of this recently released offering. An extraordinarily flowery nose interwoven with scents of blueberries, blackberries, incense, and graphite soars from the glass. Although not the biggest or most concentrated Syrah Krankl has made, it is one of the most nuanced, elegant, and complex. It remains full-bodied, but builds incrementally on the palate, and comes across as elegant and delicate, especially when compared to many California Syrahs. Nevertheless, the in

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2013 Sine Qua Non "Male" California Syrah (98RP, 96VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2013 Syrah Male is an elegant, seamless Syrah that exudes class in its creme de cassis, black raspberry, smoked meats, graphite and asphalt-laced bouquet. This is a blend of 80% Syrah, 7% Petite Sirah, 6% Mourvèdre, 3.5% Touriga National and 3.5% Viognier, fermented with 28% whole clusters and aged 25 months in 65% new French oak. It's full-bodied, beautifully layered, silky and seamless, with no hard edges and wonderful freshness in both the aromatics and palate. Give bottles 3-4 years and enjoy over the following 10-15. 2001 Clarendon Hills "Astralis" Shiraz McLaren Vale South Australia
Bid on this bottle of 2001 Clarendon Hills "Astralis" Shiraz McLaren Vale South Australia (99RP, 95ST, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2001 Syrah Astralis Vineyard may be just as compelling as the 2002. Tighter because of being in the bottle, it is an extraordinary effort that offers the essence of graphite, blackberry liqueur, espresso, and acacia flowers, all combining into an olfactory smorgasbord for the senses. Sensationally concentrated, with sweet tannin, but neither weighty nor over the top as might be expected for a wine of such extreme richness, it is an extraordinarily well-delineated Syrah that should hit its prime in 10-12 years, and last for 30-40. 2001 Sine Qua Non "Midnight Oil" California Syrah
Bid on this bottle of 2001 Sine Qua Non "Midnight Oil" California Syrah (96RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The impeccable 2001 Midnight Oil (95.5% Syrah, 3% Grenache, and 1.5% Viognier) is a product of four vineyards, Alban, Stolpman, Bien Nacido, and White Hawk. The good news is there are 950 cases of this compelling effort. With a 'midnight' black color, and the viscosity of 10-W-40 oil, its aromas of violet/acacia flowers, melted licorice, camphor, blackberries, creme de cassis, and subtle toasty new oak are accompanied by a wine boasting terrific texture, good underlying acidity, ripe tannin, and a 60-second plus finish. This stunning effort competes with the 2000, and what looks to be Krankl’s greatest Syrah-based wine to date, the 2002. (RP)" (08/2003)

2013 Booker "Fracture 24" Paso Robles Syrah
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2013 Booker "Fracture 24" Paso Robles Syrah (100RP, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The deep ruby/purple colored 2013 Fracture EXT (100% Syrah aged 24 months in barrel) is a heavenly beauty that marries a rare mix of incredible richness and power with a graceful, lively, weightlessness that needs to be tasted to be believed. Giving up phenomenal notes of creme de cassis, jammy blackberries, licorice, toasted spice and liquid violets, this insanely pure Syrah offers full-bodied richness, an unctuous, seamless, sexy texture, sweet tannin and a killer finish. Its stunning purple color is accompanied by exceptionally sweet aromas of blackberry liqueur intermixed with barbecue spices, an endearing, smoky earthiness, pepper, roasted meats, and coffee. Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2013 Booker "Fracture" Paso Robles Syrah (99RP, 94WS, 93VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2013 Fracture is an utterly sensational blend of 100% Syrah, all from the estate Booker Vineyard, that exhibits off-the-chart notes of creme de cassis, crushed flowers, licorice, vanilla bean and toasted spice. Possessing perfect integration of its fruit, alcohol, tannin and acidity, it's full-bodied and incredibly seamless, with terrific concentration, a full, layered mid-palate and a blockbuster finish. Paso Robles Syrah at its finest, this incredible wine will benefit from a year or two in the cellar, yet thrill through 2025. 2009 Lillian California Syrah
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2009 Lillian California Syrah (94ST). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Inky purple. Explosive aromas of candied dark berries, incense, violet and patchouli, with woodsmoke, olive and Asian spice nuances adding complexity. Lush, palate-coating black and blue fruit compote flavors are energized by bright spice and mineral notes. Picks up candied violet and licorice notes on the sweet, impressively long finish, which is given grip by late-arriving tannins. With its suave marriage of power and energy, this is built for the long haul. There's no way I'd have guessed that this wine clocked in at 15.2% alcohol save for its fruit intensity. I had the chance to revisit the outstanding 2008 Lillian and was pleasantly surprised by how delicious it is showing right now. I'll bet that it will be even better in another five years but I couldn't fault anyone for drinking it now, especially if they've got a decent stash in reserve. (ST)" (12/2012)

Bid on this magnum lot of 2012 Alban "Reva" Edna Valley Syrah (1.5L) (97RP, 95WS, 93VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "There are 750 cases (which means good yields for John, although any normal person would call 1.5-1.75 tons per acre financial suicide) of the 2012 Syrah Reva Alban Estate Vineyard, and it's a terrific vintage for this cuvee. Elegant, pretty, even finesse driven, with its classic marine and salty bouquet of smoke, purple fruits, olives and violets, this full-bodied Syrah has no hard edges, integrated acidity and a great finish. Medium-bodied, pretty, focused and with fine tannin, it lacks some back-end oomph, but opens up nicely with air, has solid purity of fruit, and plenty of elegance and character.
