2002 Glaetzer "Amon-Ra" Shiraz McLaren Vale South Australia
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2002 Glaetzer "Amon-Ra" Shiraz McLaren Vale South Australia (96RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Deep garnet-black in color, the 2002 Amon-Ra offers black fruit and plum pudding aromas with whiffs of coffee, nuts, licorice and a touch of game. Full-bodied and tightly-knit in texture, it has medium-firm, fine-grained tannins, and excellent concentration through the long, spicy finish. (LPB)" (02/2013)

2003 Chris Ringland Shiraz Three Rivers (OWC)
Bid on this bottle of 2003 Chris Ringland Shiraz Three Rivers (OWC - 97RP) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2003 Chris Ringland Shiraz has according to Ringland, "changed dramatically in the last year, getting denser". Nevertheless, it is not as saturated in color as the two previous vintages and is more advanced in its development. It is still a brilliant wine with glorious aromatics including spice box, fruitcake, dried fruits, and blueberry preserves. Savory, ripe, and elegant on the palate despite its size, it should be cellared for another 5 years and will give pleasure through 2023. The 2004 Chris Ringland Shiraz is from another top vintage. Like the other wines, it spent 42 months in new French oak. Aromas of scorched earth, pencil lead, espresso, black currant and blueberry lead to a dense, complex, youthful wine with layer upon layer of succulent fruit, impeccable balance, and a decade of aging potential. 2002 Sine Qua Non "Just for the Love of It" Syrah
Bid on this bottle of 2002 Sine Qua Non "Just for the Love of It" Syrah (100RP, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A dead-ringer (at least aromatically) for Guigal’s single vineyard Cote Rotie La Mouline, the 2002 Just For The Love of It is the greatest California Syrah I have yet tasted. A one-thousand case blend of 96% Syrah, 2% Grenache, and 2% Viognier, it is nearly equal parts Alban, Bien Nacido, and Stolpman fruit with a small amount from both Shadow Canyon and White Hawk. It boasts a provocative perfume of creme de cassis, toast, blackberries, licorice, barbecue spice, and exotic floral scents. Extremely full-bodied, with fabulous intensity, great purity, awesome length, and a finish that lasts over a minute, this classic is a must purchase. Already accessible, it will drink well for 10-15 years. (RP)" (08/2004)

1990 Noel Verset Cornas
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1990 Noel Verset Cornas (94ST, 93RP). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "At the time of its release I thought that Verset's 1990 Cornas was one of the best wines of the vintage in the northern Rhône and definitely the best example of Cornas for that year. Still deep ruby in color, it displays powerful aromas of cherry liqueur, blackberry and olive, with a minty aspect adding vivacity and lift. Round and seamless in texture, with sappy red and dark berry flavors and hints of spicecake and cola, this is aging very slowly and positively. A hint of fresh mint sneaks up with air, adding good back end bite to a long, supple finish. In an ample, plush style for Verset, you could drink this with great pleasure now or forget it for at least another ten years." (01/2015)

1989 Nöel Verset Cornas
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 1989 Nöel Verset Cornas (95VN). Vinous: "I actually find the 1989 Cornas to be a shade better than the '90 right now, but at this stage, 25 years out, we're well into the bottle variation stage of wines' evolution so I could take a different view on any given day. The wine displays highly complex bouquet that evokes raspberry liqueur, incense, potpourri and smoky bacon, with a powerful Asian spice nuance adding lift. It offers palate-staining red fruit and floral pastille flavors, along with suggestions of licorice, olive and fruitcake. Weighty but vibrant, it finishes sweet, seamless and extremely long, with a deft interplay of richness and tension. I suspect that the Cornas will age for at least as long as its 1990 sibling and probably longer but there's plenty of pleasure to be had from it now. (JR)" (01/2015)

1991 M. Chapoutier "La Mordorée" Côte-Rôtie
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1991 M. Chapoutier "La Mordorée" Côte-Rôtie (100RP, 90ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "In the same class as the great single-vineyard Cote Roties made by Marcel Guigal (i.e., La Mouline, La Turque, and La Landonne), La Mordoree is most akin to La Mouline in its seductive, otherworldly fragrance and layers of sweet, expansive, velvety-textured fruit. There were 400 cases made of this saturated purple-colored wine. Its huge bouquet and spectacularly rich, layered personality offer an astonishing example of what low yields from a naturally farmed vineyard and an unfined, unfiltered winemaking philosophy can achieve. 2002 Glaetzer "Bishop" Shiraz Barossa Valley
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2002 Glaetzer "Bishop" Shiraz Barossa Valley (93RP, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The stunning 2002 Bishop (100% Shiraz from 40- to 80-year-old vines) was aged for 16 months in primarily old American hogsheads (300-500 liter barrels). This is a superb example of Barossa Shiraz, combining power and concentration with a sense of balance and symmetry. Dense purple-colored with a gorgeous nose of sweet cassis intertwined with new saddle leather, spice box and licorice, this full-bodied, unctuously-textured effort boasts tremendous intensity, good tannic structure, decent acidity, and a long, heady finish. The 14% alcohol content is relatively retrained by Barossa standards. It should drink well for 7-8 years." (10/2004)

Aromas of scorched earth, pencil lead, espresso, black currant and blueberry lead to a dense, complex, youthful wine with layer upon layer of succulent fruit, impeccable balance, and a decade of aging potential. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "More gamy, bloody and meaty than the Sur Echalas Vineyard Syrah, the 2012 Syrah The Tribe Vineyard is a full-bodied, elegant, concentrated and structured effort that gives up complex notes of savory dark fruits, beef blood, dried herbs, pepper and olives. It's another incredible Syrah that needs short-term cellaring, but will have two decades of evolution. (JD)" (06/2015)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2008 Tensley "Colson Canyon Vineyard" Santa Barbara County Syrah (96RP, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2008 Syrah Colson Canyon exhibits notes of scorched earth, smoked meats, blackberries, cassis, and flowers. The complex, northern Rhone-like bouquet is followed by the exuberant, unapologetic, ripe fruit of California. Boasting extraordinary intensity as well as abundant smoky barbecue notes, stunning, full-bodied opulence, and a powerful, layered mouthfeel, this terrific Syrah should drink well for 10-12 years. Full body with layers of ripe tannins and spice. It goes on for minutes on the finish. This is a fabulously spicy with black pepper, cinnamon, cloves, black truffles, sous bois and licorice. 2011 Sine Qua Non "Patine - Eleven Confessions Vineyard" Santa Rita Hills Syrah
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2011 Sine Qua Non "Patine - Eleven Confessions Vineyard" Santa Rita Hills Syrah (98RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A wine that needs to be forgotten in the cellar for 5-6 years, the 2011 Syrah Patine checks in as a blend of roughly 97% Syrah and the balance Roussanne and Viognier. It too comes all from the estate's Eleven Confessions Vineyard and saw 39 months in 63% new French oak. Backward, tight, concentrated and structured, with full-bodied richness and depth, it gives up Guigal La Landonne like aromas and flavors of graphite, sweet oak, smoked meats, pepper and black raspberry and cassis-like fruit. While it shows the vintage's cooler nature, it has a stacked mid-palate and will evolve gracefully for 15-20 years. (JD)" (08/2015)

Guigal "La Turque" Côte-Rôtie,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "Getting a few expletives in my notes, the 2003 Cote Rotie La Turque is more structured and powerful, with a youthful purple color giving way to meaty, bloody characteristics that are intermixed with creme de cassis, roasted meats, licorice and leather. Full-bodied, seamless and layered, with incredible depth, purity and texture, it needs a few more years over the La Mouline to fully stretch out, but will have three decades or more when all is said and done. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2001 Domaine Jean-Louis Chave Hermitage (95WS, 94RP, 94ST). Wine Spectator: "This is an elegant, sinewy vintage that is just starting to hit its stride, with a strong sanguine and cedar frame to the core of dried red currant, cherry pit and red licorice notes. Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2010 Cayuse "Armada Vineyard" Walla Walla Valley Syrah (OWC - 97RP, 97WE, 95ST, 93WS) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Christophe’s Armada Vineyard Syrah has slowly become one of my favorite releases and the 2010 Syrah Armada Vineyard does nothing to dampen my growing enthusiasm for the vineyard. From a high-density planting in 2001 that lies just behind the winemaking facility (or 'studio' if you’re talking with Christophe), it offers up a brilliant bouquet of sweet kirsch and plum liqueur intermixed with notions of bacon fat, wild herbs, ground pepper and liquid rock. Evolving beautifully with air and incredibly complex aromatically, it is full-bodied, voluptuously textured and delivers serious levels of fruit and richness without ever seeming the least bit heavy or cumbersome. Count me a fan and this knockout Syrah will stand toe-to-toe with the best in the world. Give bottles another 2-3 years of bottle age and enjoy over the following 1

Bid on this bottle of 2003 Sine Qua Non "Papa" Central Coast Syrah (98RP, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "There are 860 cases of the 2003 Papa, a blend of 97% Syrah, 2% Mourvedre, and 1% Grenache sourced from six different vineyards. An old black and white photograph of Manfred Krankl’s father holding a baby with a head the size of a large watermelon (presumably Manfred) serves as the label for this wine, which has just about everything one could want in a great Syrah. It exhibits extraordinary power and richness along with large quantities of sexy, seductive cassis, black cherries, and a chocolaty undertone. Unctuously textured, rich, and full, it will provide amazing drinking over the next 10-15 years. (RP)" (08/2006)

Wine Spectator: "A wine of surprising subtlety for the vintage, playing its ripe cherry, red plum and herb flavors against firm tannins that have a bit of grit to them. But those lively cherry and raspberry flavors burst through, and there's a nice hint of green herbs lingering around the finish, which doesn't subside easily. (HS, Web-2008)"

Bid on this bottle of 2012 Sine Qua Non "Stock" Central Coast Syrah (98RP, 96VN). It offers stunning notes of blackcurrants, cassis, smoked meats, ground pepper and wild herbs to go with a full-bodied, unctuous, layered, yet always graceful and elegant feel on the palate. Nicely structured, with perfect overall balance, it still has the open-knit character of the vintage, yet has plenty of underlying structure, which at the moment is slightly hidden by the wine's lavish fruit. This is steep hillside vineyard stuff with a dense, dark purple color, a phenomenally rich nose of brioche, acacia flowers, blackberry, and blueberry jam intermixed with some white chocolate and perhaps hints of fig and truffle. The wine is spicy, full-bodied, incredibly opulent, and thick, even unctuously textured, with great purity and richness. Moreover, the glycerin and viscosity cover up some huge tannins. This is an amazingly big, thick wine, but it still cascades over the palate like a waterfall. This wine should come into its own in several years and drink well for 10-15. (RP)" (12/2007)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Another wine I was able to taste multiple times, the 2012 Syrah Sur Echalas Vineyard is the most voluptuous, sexy and textured of the lineup. Giving up classic, Old World Syrah notes of blackcurrants, black olives, smoked meats, ground pepper and violets, this beauty hits the palate with full-bodied richness and is gorgeous, concentrated and expansiveness on the palate, with plenty of of mid-palate depth and length. The tannin becomes more and more apparent with time in the glass. This needs 3-4 years to round into form, and will keep for 15-20 years. As with all of these 2012s, decant if drinking anytime soon. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Chris Ringland (formerly known as Three Rivers Shiraz), which is aged 42 months in 100% new French oak, and is rarely racked until bottling, represents an extraordinary expression of Barossa Shiraz. The perfect 1998, made from a single, 88-year-old vineyard cropped at one ton of fruit per acre, soaked up its wood component as if it is not even present. It boasts a sumptuous texture, great delineation, and a huge fragrance of bacon fat, blackberry liqueur, creme de cassis, toast, espresso roast, and hints of chocolate as well as pepper. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The youngest Run Rig, the 2001, should equal the 1998 as it is almost a clone aromatically, texturally, and flavor-wise, just much younger. This opaque purple-colored beauty should flirt with perfection over the next 10-15 years. Torbreck’s flagship wine, the Run Rig, is made from 40- to 120-year-old Shiraz vines with some co-fermented Viognier (usually around 3%), tips the scales between 14-15% alcohol, and is aged 30 months in French oak. 2012 Cayuse "Armada Vineyard" Walla Walla Valley Syrah (OWC)
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2012 Cayuse "Armada Vineyard" Walla Walla Valley Syrah (OWC - 96RP, 95WE, 94VN) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Another longer-term prospect is the 2012 Syrah Armada Vineyard. One of the more burly, structured releases from this estate, it's always poured after the Bionic Frog and is the last Syrah we taste in a vintage. The 2012 gives up lots of iodine, raw meats and floral notes that are balanced by a core of distinct black raspberry fruit, which in most vintages veers more toward the darker, more plummy side of the spectrum. Full-bodied, tight and yet nicely concentrated, with good tannin, it should be at its best from 2018-2028. (JD)" (06/2015)

2003 Sine Qua Non "The Inaugural - Eleven Confessions" Syrah
Bid on this bottle of 2003 Sine Qua Non "The Inaugural - Eleven Confessions" Syrah (100RP, 99VN, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The mind-boggling 2003 The Inaugural Syrah is an emotional experience to taste as well as drink. Aged 38 ½ months in French oak, it was fashioned entirely from the Eleven Confessions Vineyard, which is planted with Syrah clones #470, 174, and the Estrella River and Alban field selections. This stunning Syrah boasts a magnificent bouquet of spring flowers, blueberries, blackberries, charcoal, licorice, and roasted meats. It hits the palate with remarkable intensity, purity, and full-bodied power, but it somehow manages to dance across the taste buds with the gracefulness of a ballerina. Awesomely long, I still tasted this wine 60 seconds after I had spit it out -- no easy task, even for a professional. This majestic Syrah should be a modern day legacy for Sine Qua Non, ranking alongside the other stunning Syrahs they have produced, such as the two 2002

2013 Horsepower "Sur Echalas Vineyard" Walla Walla Valley Syrah (OWC)
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2013 Horsepower "Sur Echalas Vineyard" Walla Walla Valley Syrah (OWC - 97RP) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Up with the top three or four Syrahs in the vintage, the 2013 Syrah Sur Echalas Vineyard, which was bottled in August of last year, offers a complex, savory, mineral-laced style to go with a complex bouquet of ground herbs, pepper, beef blood, dried flower and cured meats. This is a full-bodied Syrah that has considerable mid-palate density, fine tannin and good overall freshness (although I'm sure the pH is 4 or higher). Like the 2012, it needs 2-3 years of bottle age and will drink well for 15 years or more. (JD)" (06/2015)

1990 J.L. Chave Hermitage Rouge
Bid on this bottle of 1990 J.L. Chave Hermitage Rouge (98RP, 98WS, 97VN, 96ST). Wine Spectator: "This still very rich and alluring, with a core of dark roasted plum, black currant and blackberry fruit that still has an unctuous feel. There are additional floral and black tea notes, flashes of bergamot and clove, and a lingering tarry edge that supports the finish. Still throws a long shadow. (Web-2012)"

2001 Sine Qua Non "Midnight Oil" California Syrah
Bid on this bottle of 2001 Sine Qua Non "Midnight Oil" California Syrah (96RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The impeccable 2001 Midnight Oil (95.5% Syrah, 3% Grenache, and 1.5% Viognier) is a product of four vineyards, Alban, Stolpman, Bien Nacido, and White Hawk. The good news is there are 950 cases of this compelling effort. With a 'midnight' black color, and the viscosity of 10-W-40 oil, its aromas of violet/acacia flowers, melted licorice, camphor, blackberries, creme de cassis, and subtle toasty new oak are accompanied by a wine boasting terrific texture, good underlying acidity, ripe tannin, and a 60-second plus finish. This stunning effort competes with the 2000, and what looks to be Krankl’s greatest Syrah-based wine to date, the 2002. (RP)" (08/2003)

Chave Hermitage Rouge, and 1-bottle of 1987 J.L. Chave Hermitage Rouge. Of the 1985 J.L. Chave Hermitage Rouge,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "Chave produced the best red Hermitage of this vintage. Yet for Chave 1985 was not a year he cares to remember. Holding back the tears, he sadly states that his beloved mother, as well as his faithful sidekick, his dog, passed away that year. A sentimentalist, Chave is likely to put little of this vintage into the huge reservoir of old vintages that his family has faithfully cellared throughout this century. His 1985 avoided the oversupple style of some of the other reds of this vintage. The wine's deep ruby color exhibits some lightening at the edge. The intense fragrance of smoked meat, cassis, and Provencal olives is followed by a rich, full-bodied, velvety-textured wine th

2013 Horsepower "The Tribe Vineyard" Walla Walla Valley Syrah (OWC)
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2013 Horsepower "The Tribe Vineyard" Walla Walla Valley Syrah (OWC - 96RP, 95WS) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "More straight and focused than the Sur Echalas Vineyard, the 2013 Syrah The Tribe Vineyard is slightly darker in color, with lots of gunpowder, blackberry, blueberry, smoked game and beef blood aromas and flavors. Full-bodied, yet elegant and silky, with a great finish, it's a gorgeously complex, balanced and complete Syrah that has lots of Rocks character, as well as 15 years of more of longevity. I have a slight preference for the Sur Echalas Vineyard Syrah, but these share lots of similarities and are both brilliant wines. (JD)" (06/2015)

2004 E. Guigal "La Turque" Côte-Rôtie
Bid on this bottle of 2004 E. Guigal "La Turque" Côte-Rôtie (95VN, 94WS, 93RP). Vinous: "Saturated red. Deep, concentrated aromas of kirsch, cola and blackcurrant, with mounting smokiness and Indian spice qualities. Livelier on the palate, offering sweet raspberry and cherry-cola flavors, velvety texture and a strong lashing of cracked pepper. A sweet anise note carries through the sappy, very sweet finish. This wine is already quite seductive. (JR)" (01/2009)

A flamboyant wine with a sensational nose of blackberry liqueur, melted licorice, acacia flowers, crushed stones, and a hint of blueberries, it is seamlessly assembled with fabulous concentration, an expansive, full-bodied palate, and an amazingly long finish that lasts well over a minute. 2013 Shafer "Relentless" Napa Valley Syrah
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2013 Shafer "Relentless" Napa Valley Syrah ((98-100RP), (91-93VN)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The same can be said for the 2013 Syrah Relentless, which might end up being the finest one they’ve ever made. The berries were the smallest they’ve encountered, and they were not the only winery to say that about the 2013 red varietals. A blend of 97% Syrah and 3% Petite Sirah, the wine is opaque black/purple with an incredible nose of subtle wood, charcoal embers, blackberry, blueberry and black raspberry fruit, baking spices, and again, a roasted meatiness with some bouquet garni thrown in the background. The complex aromatics were already starting to roar from the glass, and the wine, enormously endowed, is full-bodied and flawlessly constructed. This is a killer effort that should drink well for 40+ years. (RP)" (10/2014)

Chave Hermitage Rouge,Vinous writes: "One of my favorite wines of the night, the 1988 Hermitage is simply breathtaking in its beauty and profoundness. Sage, rosemary, sweet tobacco and dried flowers are some of the many notes that lift from the glass in a translucent, weightless, yet wonderfully deep wine. May I have another glass, please? Wow... Of the 2013 Sine Qua Non "Female" California Grenache,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "Manfred's 2013 Grenache Female checks in as a blend of 78% Grenache, 19% Syrah and 3% Mourvèdre that is mostly from his Eleven Confessions estate vineyard in Sta. Rita Hills, yet has smaller portions from his Cumulus, The Third Twin and Bien Nacido vineyards. Seeing just over 24 months in a mix of demi-muids, 300-liter Hog Heads and barrique, it has a sensational bouquet of spring flowers, black raspberries, black cherries, violets, licorice and camphor. Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2010 Sine Qua Non "Five Shooter" Central Coast Syrah (98RP, 98VN, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Syrah Five Shooter is straight up gorgeous. A massive wine that somehow holds everything together, it offers a wild array of cassis, blackberry, white chocolate, underbrush and pepper that flows to a full-bodied, layered Syrah that has masses of fine tannin and enough substance to evolve for decades. A blend of 85% Syrah, 5% Grenache, 3% Petite Sirah, 5% Roussanne and 2% Viognier that was fermented with 20% whole cluster and aged 22 months in 59% new French oak, it opens up beautifully in the glass and should be decanted if drinking anytime soon.
