2009 Cayuse "En Chamberlin" Walla Walla Valley Syrah
Bid on this bottle of 2009 Cayuse "En Chamberlin" Walla Walla Valley Syrah (99WE, 97RP, 96WS, 95ST). Wine Enthusiast: " *Editors' Choice* In a vintage that produced the finest overall lineup of Cayuse wines to date, it may seem a little nit-picky to score some higher and some lower. But the En Chamberlin deserves first place again. Brilliant aromatics of smoked meat, bacon fat and otherworldly roasted accents seduce instantly. Once on the palate, the silky, balanced, near-perfect mix of umami and fruit, plus licorice, cassis, coffee liqueur and black tea notes suggest it's as decadent as it is delicious." (03/2013)

2006 Alban "Lorraine" Edna Valley Syrah
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2006 Alban "Lorraine" Edna Valley Syrah (100RP, 97WS, 95ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Named after his raven-haired Irish wife, the 2006 Syrah Lorraine, which comes from more sandy soils, is another prodigious effort. Like all of these wines, it is a remarkable wine of extraordinary intensity, with a stunning nose of blueberries, bacon fat, camphor, and even darker blackberries, along with unreal minerality and definition for a wine of this size and power. Full-bodied, with profound intensity of flavor as well as purity, this is another wine that spent nearly three and a half years in barrel prior to being bottled unfined and unfiltered. Wine Spectator: "This is an elegant, sinewy vintage that is just starting to hit its stride, with a strong sanguine and cedar frame to the core of dried red currant, cherry pit and red licorice notes. A racy iron note is now in full throat on the finish. The commanding minerality should carry this through a second stage of life. (Web- 2012)"

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2006 Torbreck "RunRig" Shiraz Barossa Valley South Australia (96JH, 96RP, 96ST, 92WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "The flagship 2006 Run Rig is a blend of 95% Shiraz and 5% Viognier. A saturated purple color, it sends up a complex bouquet of cigar box, Asian spices, incense, bacon, plum, and blueberry. On the palate it admirably combines power and elegance. Layers of succulent fruit are nicely complemented by the wine’s generous framework. Another 4-6 years of cellaring should fill it out with style. (JM)" (12/2009)

Wine Enthusiast: "**Editors' Choice** Dark and concentrated, this sends up complex aromas saturated with tar, asphalt, ink, steel, smoke and charred barbecue. It’s a beautiful wine, tight and textural, in perfect balance, with superb depth, precision and elegance. Bid on this bottle of 2010 Mollydooker "Velvet Glove" Shiraz McLaren Vale South Australia (97RP, 96WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Deep purple-black in color, the 2010 Velvet Glove is scented of creme de cassis, blackberry cordial, dried plums with nuances of mocha, vanilla and chocolate. Very fine in the mouth, it has a nice, crisp acid backbone and medium levels of fine tannins to support all the big and rich fruit. It finishes long. Drink it from 2014 to 2026+. (LPB)" (02/2013)

2002 Jean-Louis Chave Hermitage
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2002 Jean-Louis Chave Hermitage ((91-94RP), 92WS, (90-91ST)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the candidates for the Rhone Valley’s 'wine of the vintage' is Chave’s 2002 Hermitage. A draconian selection has resulted in a deep ruby/purple-colored offering revealing sweet notes of melted licorice, briery berries, earth, and herbs. Medium to full-bodied, pure, elegant, and intense, this forward-styled Hermitage appears to be better than the 1992, 1993, and 1994, which are all fine wines that are holding up well. The 2002 should be at its peak between 2005-2015. What Chave accomplished in the extremely challenging 2002 vintage is unquestionably noteworthy. Not because of tiny yields and small grapes, but due to Chave’s decision to eliminate every grape except the very best, 2002 is a small crop. (RP)" (12/2004)

2010 Sine Qua Non "Stockholm Syndrome" Sta. Rita Hills Syrah
Bid on this bottle of 2010 Sine Qua Non "Stockholm Syndrome" Sta. Rita Hills Syrah (100RP, 97VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Syrah Stockholm Syndrome is a monumental effort that will stand toe-to-toe with the greatest Syrahs in the world. A blend of 96% Syrah, 3% Roussanne and 1% Viognier, it was fermented with 16% whole cluster before spending just under 42 months in 100% new French oak. It offers an incredible array of sweet dark fruits, cassis, white chocolate, licorice and hints of bacon fat that meld perfectly with its full-bodied, seamless, layered and impeccably put-together palate. Given the wealth of fruit here, it’s amazing how this stays light, graceful and elegant, without ever seeming over the top in any way. While there’s no shortage of tannin here, they’re sweet and integrated, so feel free to enjoy this rock-star effort anytime over the coming two decades or more. (JD)" (08/2014)

Of the 2007 Copain "Baker Ranch" Anderson Valley Syrah,Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar writes: "Glass-staining ruby. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The dense purple-colored 2009 Cornas Granite 60 Vieilles Vignes exhibits aromas of black raspberries, blackberries, licorice, camphor, subtle barbecue smoke and meat juices. This full-bodied, massive 2009 needs at least 5-6 years of bottle age. It should keep for 20-25 years. While the 2009s are softer and more accessible (because of lower acids and more opulent textures), they are extremely large-scaled, substantial reds that will benefit from a few more years of cellaring. 2012 Sine Qua Non "Stock" Central Coast Syrah
Bid on this bottle of 2012 Sine Qua Non "Stock" Central Coast Syrah (98RP, 96VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A step up from the Grenache, the blockbuster-styled 2012 Syrah Stock checks in as a blend of 84% Syrah, 7% Grenache, 6% Petit Sirah, and the rest Viognier and Mourvedre, that was fermented with 32% whole clusters and aged in just over half new French oak. It offers stunning notes of blackcurrants, cassis, smoked meats, ground pepper and wild herbs to go with a full-bodied, unctuous, layered, yet always graceful and elegant feel on the palate. Nicely structured, with perfect overall balance, it still has the open-knit character of the vintage, yet has plenty of underlying structure, which at the moment is slightly hidden by the wine's lavish fruit. It will be better in 2-3 years, and have two decades of overall longevity. (JD)" (08/2015)

Rita Hills Syrah,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "Absolutely prodigious, the 2008 Syrah Donna’s is aged completely in neutral French oak (as are its two siblings), and a generous amount of stems/whole clusters were used during the winemaking (approximately 80%). From a four-acre block in the Melville vineyard, it boasts an inky/purple color as well as a beautiful bouquet of spring flowers, blueberries, blackberries, graphite, and camphor, sensational concentration, a full-bodied mouthfeel, stunning purity and succulence, and a whoppingly long, seamless, 45-second finish. Bid on this 8-bottle lot of 2007 Domaine Vincent Paris "Granit 60" Cornas ((91-93RP), 92ST, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "More crushed rock, graphite, and scorched earth notes as well as additional structure and tannin are evident in the inky/purple-tinged 2007 Cornas Granite 60 Vieilles Vignes. This dense, full-bodied effort reveals moderately sweet tannin and decent acidity. It should be drinkable in 2-3 years, and keep for 15 years. These impressive, quasi-modern-styled Cornas reveal the influence of barrique aging, but there is no doubting their savage blast of blue and black fruits as well as spring flowers. Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1989 Gentaz-Dervieux "Cuvée Réservée Côte Brune" Côte-Rôtie. Robert Parker, Jr. writes in his 1997 Rhône book, "One of Côte-Rôtie's greatest winemakers, Marius Gentas, who is brother-in-law of Albert Dervieux, used to produce a mere 600-800 cases of wine from his three acres of vines on the Côte Brune. Consequently, his winemaking genius was never widely known. Gentaz's wines are now even more impossible to find since he leased to Rene Rostaing all of his old vineyards except for a 1-acre parcel of 65-year old vines on the Côte Brune. I have always found his wines to be among the finest of the appelation. They are not as powerful, oaky, and thick as those of Guigal, nor as rustic and backward as those produced by his brother-in-law...they are marvels of both finesse and richness."

1989 Nöel Verset Cornas
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1989 Nöel Verset Cornas (95VN). Vinous: "I actually find the 1989 Cornas to be a shade better than the '90 right now, but at this stage, 25 years out, we're well into the bottle variation stage of wines' evolution so I could take a different view on any given day. The wine displays highly complex bouquet that evokes raspberry liqueur, incense, potpourri and smoky bacon, with a powerful Asian spice nuance adding lift. It offers palate-staining red fruit and floral pastille flavors, along with suggestions of licorice, olive and fruitcake. Weighty but vibrant, it finishes sweet, seamless and extremely long, with a deft interplay of richness and tension. I suspect that the Cornas will age for at least as long as its 1990 sibling and probably longer but there's plenty of pleasure to be had from it now. (JR)" (01/2015)

Bid on this magnum of 2010 Saxum "Booker Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (1.5L) (98RP, 95VN, 94ST, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Syrah Booker Vineyard - a blend of 81% Syrah and 19% Mourvedre - is about as textbook a representation of a Paso Robles Syrah as I can think of. Locked and loaded with notions of ripe black and blue fruits, smoke, bouquet garni, espresso, and licorice, it is unabashedly full-bodied, rich, and yet elegant on the palate. Showing real class, as well as first-rate freshness, superb depth and concentration, and masses of tannin, this blockbuster Syrah needs a solid 3-4 years of bottle age to flesh out, and will keep for 15-20 years or more. A benchmark estate for California, Saxum, under the helm of superstar winemaker Justin Smith, continues to produce some of the most compelling, profound wines on the planet. Bid on this bottle of 2011 Cayuse "Bionic Frog" Walla Walla Valley Syrah (96RP, 96VN, 93WE, 92WS). Creme de cassis, blackberry, smoked earth, toasted spice and violets emerge from the glass, and it flows onto the palate with full-bodied richness, beautiful purity of fruit and brilliant length. Inky purple in color, with notes of graphite, camphor, blackberry, spring flowers, and a hint of forest floor, this full-bodied, broodingly backward, yet dense, pure, impressively made wine has terrific length, purity, and overall personality. Full-bodied, yet elegant and silky, with a great finish, it's a gorgeously complex, balanced and complete Syrah that has lots of Rocks character, as well as 15 years of more of longevity. Showing the purity and focus of the vintage, it gives up lots of cassis, black raspberry, licorice and some meatiness to go with a full-bodied, elegant and fabulously textured feel on the palate. Made from 38% Syrah, 37% Grenache, 17.4% Petite Sirah and the balance Mourvedre, fermented with 36% whole clusters, it spent 33 months in 54% new French oak, and there's a scant 320 cases made. 2012 Thierry Allemand "Reynard" Cornas
Bid on this bottle of 2012 Thierry Allemand "Reynard" Cornas (98RP, 96VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Coming from the oldest vines of the estate and one of the best vineyards in the world for Syrah, the 2012 Cornas Reynard is a massive, thick and unctuous effort that's bursting at the seams with notions of crème de cassis, crushed violets, smoked game and incredible minerality. Just a sensational Cornas that surpasses what was achieved in 2009 and 2010, this full-bodied, concentrated and structured effort has the fruit to be enjoyable now (this is a common trait of the vintage), yet has the depth, richness and balance to evolve for over two decades. It doesn't come cheap, but it's up there with some of the finest Syrahs made. (JD)" (12/2015)
