2004 Shafer "Hillside Select" Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2004 Shafer "Hillside Select" Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon (100WE, 99RP, 96WS, 95VN, 95W&S, 93CG). Wine Enthusiast: "A perfect score has to be considered in the context of its region. Shafer’s 2004 Hillside Select is tremendous as a Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon that competes with its peers at the highest levels. It’s always a fabulous wine, but in warm 2004, Shafer’s amphitheater vineyard sheltered the grapes, ripening them to perfection yet protecting the “iron fist in a velvet glove” structure that André Tchelistcheff defined as Stags Leap. This 100% Cabernet is tremendous in cassis, black currant and mocha flavors, and the 100% new French oak provides perfect additions of smoke and caramel. It’s soft and gorgeous enough to drink now, and should age well in a cool cellar for the next 20 years." (03/2009)

Of the 2002 Ridge "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L),Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "The 2002 Monte Bello Proprietary Red is a blend of 74% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Merlot and 8% Petit Verdot. It tastes as if it hasn’t changed since I first sampled it in late 2003 and then again in bottle two years later. The color is healthy ruby/purple, and the wine displays some dusty, oaky, vanillin notes that jump out of the glass along with a touch of white chocolate as well as red and black currants and

Bid on this bottle of 2004 Château de Beaucastel "Hommage a Jacques Perrin" Châteauneuf-du-Pape ((96-98ST), 96WS, 95RP). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Saturated ruby. Remarkably deep nose combines cherry, raspberry, licorice, smoked meat and mineral notes, all lifted by an intense floral quality. A stunning example of freshness and precision married to power, with deep cassis, bitter cherry and candied licorice flavors enlivened by zesty minerality and framed by firm but harmonious tannins. 'This is not about extraction,' notes Perrin. The endless finish echoes the mineral and floral tones, showing a persistent lavender note. This was not yet bottled when I tasted it. (JR)" (02/2007)

2004 Bryant Family Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2004 Bryant Family Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (98RP, 96WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "It is well-known that many of the vineyards and terroirs on Pritchard Hill can be magical, and this is unquestionably one of them. Bryant’s 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon boasts a dense ruby/purple color along with exceptional aromatics consisting of stunningly pure blackberry, black raspberry and floral scents, full body and an opulent personality. Although this estate went through a few hiccups during its change in winemakers in 2001, the 2004 clearly shows this estate has come back with a vengeance. This stunning 100% Cabernet Sauvignon is one of the superstars of the vintage. Drink it over the next two decades. (RP)" (04/2014)

2004 Pride Mountain "Reserve" Sonoma/Napa Counties Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2004 Pride Mountain "Reserve" Sonoma/Napa Counties Cabernet Sauvignon (96RP, 95WE, 94CG). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The two flagship wines of this brilliant estate, which straddles the Sonoma and Napa county lines at the top of Spring Mountain, include the 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve (98% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Petit Verdot). Sixty-eight percent of the fruit comes from Sonoma and 32% from Napa. It exhibits classic notes of creme de cassis, licorice, cedarwood, incense and a hint of toasty oak in the background. Full-bodied, opulent, profound deep, rich and full with velvety edges, the tannin can be detected, but it is wonderfully integrated in this mountain-styled Cabernet. It continues Pride’s impressive track record with these special cuvees. The 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve can be drunk young or cellared for two decades or more. (RP)" (04/2014)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2004 Bruno Giacosa "Asili" Barbaresco Riserva (99VN, 97JS, 96ST, 96WS). Vinous: "The 2004 Barbaresco Riserva Asili is easily one of the greatest wines Bruno Giacosa made during his long and distinguished career. Next to the other wines of the vintage here, the Asili Riserva is defined by its stunning inner sweetness, soaring aromatics and silky tannins. One of the attributes all great wines share is their ability to stimulate all the senses, from the intellectual to the hedonistic. The 2004 Asili Riserva hits all the right spots and then some. This is just about as good as it gets. (AG)" (06/2016)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2004 Ridge Vineyards "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon ((91-94ST), 94W&S, 93VN, 91RP). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Ruby-red. Brooding aromas of cassis, blackberry, minerals, bitter chocolate, tobacco and fresh herbs. Fat, broad and sweet, with nicely integrated acidity and complex hints of leather, herbs, licorice, chocolate and minerals. This cheek-coating wine is a bit more filled in than the 2003 release. 2004 Kistler "Cuvée Elizabeth-Bodega Headlands" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Bid on this bottle of 2004 Kistler "Cuvée Elizabeth-Bodega Headlands" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir ((96-98RP)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Bordering on perfection, the 2004 Pinot Noir Bodega Headlands (from Kistler’s new vineyard planted on the Sonoma Coast) offers up sweet plum, forest floor, and violet scents along with a La Tache-like, ethereal, floral, and black raspberry-like character. This prodigious, deep ruby/purple-colored Pinot possesses fabulous concentration as well as a layered, multidimensional palate, wonderful fruit, sweet tannin, and good acidity. It should age beautifully for 10-12 years. Interestingly, Steve Kistler planted this vineyard with the old Calera clone, which is rumored to be a suitcase clone pulled out of the Domaine de la Romanee-Conti grand cru vineyards. 2004 Pavie, St-Emilion
Bid on this bottle of 2004 Pavie, St-Emilion (96W&S, 94RP, 93WS, 91ST). Wine & Spirits: "A conspicuously modern wine, Pavie with its hyper-ripe fruit and substantial new oak treatment stands out as an offense to some, a glorious pleasure to others. In the case of the 2004, it carries the oak beautifully, untamed by it. The wine is wild, in fact, and quite hard to resist. The cool complexity of the tannins grows out of three terroirs: the limestone plateau, a sector of gravel and limestone and a third sector of clay. The fruit opens with thick-skinned black plum power, reverberating with feral scents and violets. Staunch and formidable, the wine is packed with life." (10/2007)

2004 Conterno Fantino "Sorì Ginestra" Barolo (1.5L) (OWC)
Bid on this magnum of 2004 Conterno Fantino "Sorì Ginestra" Barolo (1.5L) (OWC - 96RP, 96ST, 96VN, 93WS) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Conterno-Fantino have once again produced one of the vintage’s finest wines with their stunning 2004 Barolo Sori Ginestra, which is just as impressive in bottle as it has been on the several occasions I have tasted it from barrel. This explosive, heady Barolo bursts onto the palate with seamless layers of ripe dark fruit, black cherries, menthol, cinnamon, pine and minerals, revealing profound depth and richness. It offers superb length, gorgeous, sweet tannins and a finish that lasts forever. Although it is a surprisingly accessible Sori Ginestra at this stage, I expect it will close down at some point in the near future. Readers who have an opportunity to taste this wine in the next few months should not hesitate to do so. This is a remarkable Barolo in every way. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2024. (AG)" (12/2007)

2004 Taittinger "Comtes de Champagne" Brut Blanc de Blancs
Bid on this bottle of 2004 Taittinger "Comtes de Champagne" Brut Blanc de Blancs (96RP, 96VN, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "It's fascinating to taste the 2004 Brut Blanc de Blancs Comtes de Champagne after the 2002, something I have been able to do on a few occasions. The 2004 is all about minerality, precision and tension. It doesn't have the sheer richness or power of the 2002, but it makes up for that with its crystalline purity and sheer energy. Bright hints of lemon oil, white flowers and crushed rocks are layered into the pointed, vibrant finish. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2034. (AG)" (11/2012)
