2004 Léoville-Barton, St-Julien (375ml)
Bid on this 6-half-bottle lot of 2004 Léoville-Barton, St-Julien (375ml) (92RP, 91ST, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This is an impressively endowed vin de garde that should age effortlessly for 20-30 years. How Anthony Barton continues to fashion uncompromisingly primordial Bordeaux that are always among the biggest and densest of all the St.-Juliens is beyond me, but he does it year in and year out. Moreover, when it’s time to set the price, he appears to have the consumer foremost in his mind. The 2004 is a classic Leoville-Barton meant for long aging. Concentrated, with loads of smoke, creme de cassis, forest floor, and earthy notes emerge from this impressive, but oh, so backward wine. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2030+. (92+)" (06/2007)

1996 Pichon-Baron, Pauillac
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1996 Pichon-Baron, Pauillac (94RP, 90ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1996 Pichon-Longueville Baron has a deep garnet core with some bricking on the rim. The nose is fragrant and generous with more red fruit than black, cedar and tobacco, fine definition, perhaps a little rustic in keeping with the winemaking at the time, but certainly giving lots of pleasure. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin -- a cohesive Pauillac with plenty of depth and fine balance. The acidity lends this plenty of freshness and it does not shortchange you with plenty of tarry, cedary fruit. You come away with the impression that this Pichon Baron is going to continue to improve although I would not burn anyone at the stake for opening it now. If you cannot afford the First Growth then this (and Pichon Lalande) would be where I would come. (NM)" (10/2016)

2006 Pichon-Lalande, Pauillac
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2006 Pichon-Lalande, Pauillac (94RP, 94WE, 93ST, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted at the property, the 2006 Château Pichon-Lalande has a voluminous bouquet with outgoing blackberry, cassis and violets scents, a touch of boysenberry jam tucked just underneath, although it does not quite have the delineation of the Lynch Bages. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin. This feels very composed in the mouth, quite fresh with well-judged acidity, harmonious and tensile on the finish. This deserves a higher score than I awarded out of barrel and it continues to improve year by year. (NM)" (05/2016)

Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 2009 Haut-Bergey, Pessac-Léognan (94RP, 93JS, 92ST, 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A blend of just over 50% Cabernet Sauvignon and the balance Merlot (last year I mistakenly wrote that the balance was Cabernet Franc), the opaque ruby/purple-colored 2009 reveals notes of scorched earth/burning embers/charcoal, black currants, ripe cherries and lead pencil shavings. Full-bodied and pure with sweet tannin, this is an under-the-radar, high quality claret to drink over the next 20-25 years. (RP)" (02/2012)

Bid on this 4-half-bottle lot of 2011 Guiraud, Sauternes (375ml) (99JS, 97WS, (94-96WE), 93ST). James Suckling: "This wine has exceptional clarity, balance and freshness, with lots of spicy botrytis character. Full body, medium-sweet and a crisp finish. It’s racy and refined. What’s impressive is the intensity of noble rot that makes the wine feel almost dry. This is the greatest wine ever made here. Made from organic grapes. Try in 2017, but already delicious to drink." 2010 Gazin, Pomerol
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 Gazin, Pomerol (96RP, 95JS, (91-93WE), 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Wow! This wine exceeded my enthusiastic barrel tasting notes. A big, back-strapping blockbuster from Gazin, in which the oak seems to be pushed into the background (thankfully), the wine offers up notes of caramelized black cherry and black currant fruit interwoven with mocha, white chocolate, subtle toast and hints of coffee beans and tobacco leaf. The exceptional aromatics are easily followed up by a full-bodied, powerful, broodingly backward, rich, intense wine with multiple dimensions, layers of fruit, and a sensational finish of close to a minute. This is one of the all-time great efforts from Gazin. It should be forgotten for 6-10 years and drunk over the following 30 to 40. (RP)" (02/2013)

Wine Spectator: "Bright and fresh, with raspberry, blackberry and black currant fruit still showing vibrancy, while a racy mineral edge and mouthwatering acidity course underneath. Flashes of anise, apple wood and black tea chime throughout. Integrated and melded now, but still quite primary. A wine of precision. (JM, Web-2018)"

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Clos Fourtet, St-Emilion (100RP, 95WE, 94JS, 94ST, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "After tasting it three times from bottle, I am convinced this prodigious wine is one of the greatest young Bordeaux I have ever tasted. Inky blue/purple with notes of camphor, forest floor, blackberry, cassis, sweet cherries, licorice, the wine has stunning aromatics, unctuous texture and an almost inky concentration, but without any hard edges. With considerable tannin and just enough acidity to provide definition, this wine transcends even its premier grand cru classe terroir. It is certainly the finest Clos Fourtet ever produced. Give it 5-7 years of cellaring to allow some of its baby fat to fall away. There is certainly enough structure underneath to keep for 30-50 years. Bravo! From my barrel score of 95-98, I suppose I should have seen this perfect score coming, particularly considering what proprietor Philippe Cuvelier and estate manager Tony Ballu have acc

Bid on this 2-half-bottle lot of 2001 d'Yquem, Sauternes (375ml) (100JS, 100RP, 100WS). Wine Spectator: "The greatest young Yquem I have ever tasted from bottle. Yellow, with a golden hue and an almost green tint. Intense aromas of botrytis, spices and blanched almonds follow through to honey, maple syrup, dried apricot and pineapple. Full-bodied, sweet, thick and powerful, with layers of fruit and a bright, lively finish. Coats the palate yet remains exciting. This full-bodied classic boasts a dense purple color as well as a superb nose of graphite, creme de cassis, forest floor, licorice and a hint of truffles, low acidity, and extravagant richness. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Smith-Haut-Lafitte Rouge, Pessac-Léognan (100RP, 96JS, 96WS, 94ST, 94WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The finest wine ever made by proprietors Daniel and Florence Cathiard, the 2009 Smith-Haut-Lafitte exhibits an opaque blue/purple color in addition to a glorious nose of acacia flowers, licorice, charcoal, blueberries, black raspberries, lead pencil shavings and incense. This massive, extraordinarily rich, unctuously textured wine may be the most concentrated effort produced to date, although the 2000, 2005 and 2010 are nearly as prodigious. A gorgeous expression of Pessac-Leognan with sweet tannin, emerging charm and delicacy, and considerable power, depth, richness and authority, it should age effortlessly for 30-40+ years. Bravo! Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2009 Grand-Puy-Lacoste, Pauillac (95DC, 95JS, 95RP, 94VN, 93WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Performing better from bottle than it did from cask (and comparable to their wines 2005, 2000, 1990 and 1982), this is a great classic from Xavier Borie's estate situated on the back roads west of the town of Pauillac. Its dense ruby/purple color is followed by hints of spring flowers, crushed rocks, black currants, cedar and earth/underbrush. Precise and elegant as well as backward and foreboding, it should put on weight in the bottle and evolve for two decades. Very concentrated as well as velvety-textured, it is a beauty of finesse, balance, purity and nobility. It will benefit from 5-7 more years of bottle age. (RP)" (02/2012)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1982 Gruaud-Larose, St-Julien (98RP, 96VN, 94ST, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A massive wine that is clearly of first-growth quality in this vintage, the 1982 Gruaud Larose remains a youngster. A broodingly dense, thick, unctuously textured, inky/plum/garnet/purple color offers up scents of beef blood, steak tartare, cassis, herbs, tobacco, and underbrush. One of the most concentrated wines of the vintage (as well as one of the most concentrated Bordeaux’s I have ever tasted), it is a huge, full-bodied, weighty, rich wine whose tannins are getting silkier and silkier. It appears set for another 30-40 years of life. This behemoth is a singularly profound example of Gruaud Larose that continues to justify its legendary status. Anticipated maturity: now-2050. 1959 Lafite Rothschild, Pauillac (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 1959 Lafite Rothschild, Pauillac (1.5L) (99RP, 98WS, 97ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1959 is unquestionably the greatest Lafite-Rothschild that has approached full maturity. It remains to be seen whether vintages such as 1982, 1986, and 1990 will reach a similar height. The super-aromatic bouquet of flowers, black truffles, cedar, lead pencil, and red fruits is followed by one of the most powerful and concentrated Lafites I have tasted. Medium to full-bodied, velvety-textured, rich, and pure, it is a testament to what this great estate can achieve when it hits the mark. This youthful wine will last for another 30 or more years. 1969 Mouton Rothschild, Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 1969 Mouton Rothschild, Pauillac. I was always under the impression that the '69 Mouton Rothschild was an unqualified failure, as well it should have been given the difficulty of the vintage...I was wrong. While brick in color, the wine has an engaging forest floor/cedar/smoked meat quality and a Right Bank Merlot-like warmth to it. Medium bodied, balanced acidity, and moderately lengthy finish. A great find in the hard-to-locate 1969 vintage. "Off year" Moutons will always be a bit pricey, as the scarcity of bottles from these years has driven up the price to collectors. Enjoy the 1969 Mouton — but don't linger over it: the wine should be drunk within one to two hours after opening. The artist is Miró. (Joe Zugelder, 2010)

1990 d'Yquem, Sauternes
Bid on this bottle of 1990 d'Yquem, Sauternes (99RP, 95WS, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "An extraordinary effort, Yquem's 1990 is a rich and fabulously superb, sweet wine. This wine also possesses lots of elegance and finesse. The wine's medium gold color is accompanied by an exceptionally sweet nose of honeyed tropical fruits, peaches, coconut, and apricots. High quality, subtle toasty oak is well-integrated. The wine is massive on the palate, with layers of intensely ripe botrytis-tinged, exceptionally sweet fruit. Surprisingly well-integrated acidity, and a seamless, full-bodied power and richness have created a wine of remarkable harmony and purity. Certainly it is one of the richest Yquems I have ever tasted, with 50-100 years of potential longevity. An awesome Yquem! Anticipated maturity: 2003-2050+. (RP)" (04/1999)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2005 & 2009 Gruaud-Larose, St-Julien Tasting Lot, including 1-bottle of 2005 Gruaud-Larose, St-Julien (94WE, 91W&S, 91WS, 90RP) and 1-bottle of 2009 Gruaud-Larose, St-Julien (95JS, 95RP, 94VN, 93WE, 92WS). Of the 2009 Gruaud-Larose, St-Julien,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "As I wrote in my barrel tasting note, the 2009 appears to be the finest Gruaud Larose since their 1990. Some of my concerns about too much brett in previous vintages are long gone as the purity of the 2009 jumps out. Copious notes of sagebrush, cedar, cigar box, licorice, incense, blackberries and lead pencil shavings suggest a big Pauillac rather than a St.-Julien. Broad, rich and full-bodied with good balance and abundant, but sweet, well-integrated tannin, this big, masculine Gruaud Larose reveals remarkable finesse, richness, extract, density and a cascade of fruit that nearly hides the lofty tannins. This beauty should be at its best between 2020-2045. (RP)" (02/2012)

1947 Mouton Rothschild, Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 1947 Mouton Rothschild, Pauillac (98RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I have never had anything but extraordinary, decadent, fabulously rich, concentrated bottles of the 1947 Mouton-Rothschild. The exotic, ostentatious bouquet of ginger, mint, coffee, cedar, and gobs of cassis fruit is followed by a syrupy, viscously-textured, thick, juicy Mouton that is bursting with fruit. Although drinkable since I first tasted it over a decade ago, it exhibits no signs of fruit loss or color deterioration. It is one of the most exotic and opulent Mouton-Rothschilds I have ever tasted. (RP)" (12/1997)

1989 Pichon-Lalande, Pauillac
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1989 Pichon-Lalande, Pauillac (96VN, 95WS, 94JG, 93RP, 93ST). Vinous: "Off the charts aromatic intensity, silky tannins and exceptional finesse give the 1989 much of its considerable allure. Crushed flowers, sweet red fruit, tobacco, cedar and incense are some of the many notes that waft from the glass, but it is the wine’s textural finesse that elevates it into the realm of the profound. Wonderfully alive and delineated in every way, the 1989 is one of many highlights on this magical afternoon. (AG)" (10/2017)

Bid on this bottle of 1961 Latour, Pauillac (100JS, 100RP, 100WS, 98JG, 95ST). Wine Spectator: "A blockbuster. Amazingly youthful, yet complex and complete on the palate. Aromas of mint, berries, currant and minerals follow through to a thick and caressing, full-bodied palate. Superlong and superripe. Got to love this. Will it age forever? (JS)" (08/2000)

1982 Lafite Rothschild, Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 1982 Lafite Rothschild, Pauillac (97RP, 96JS, 96VN, 95ST, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This is a denser version of the 1990 that stylistically reminds me of what the young 1959 probably tasted like. Still backward with a deep ruby/plum color revealing only a touch of lightening at the edge, the wine offers up an extraordinary nose of caramelized herbs, smoke, cedar, pen ink, black currants, and earth. The gorgeous aromatics are followed by a full-bodied, plump, rich, fleshy wine with low acidity. With 6-8 hours decanting in a closed decanter, it will offer beautiful drinking, but it needs another 5-8 years to reach full maturity. It is capable of lasting 50-60 years. (RP) 97+" (06/2009)

1945 Vieux Chateau Certan, Pomerol
Bid on this bottle of 1945 Vieux Chateau Certan, Pomerol ((98-100RP), 96JG, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted twice and rated highly each time, the 1945 is an exceptional winemaking effort in what can be a frightfully tannic vintage. It exhibits a dark, murky, plum color with little garnet at the edge. It also possesses a huge nose of smoked meats, black-raspberries, plums, licorice, and tar. Dense, chewy, and powerful, with gobs of tannin, and amazing fruit extraction, this full-throttle wine must be at its plateau of maturity, yet I see no reason it cannot last for two more decades. Full-bodied, and very velvety, with unctuous fruit flavors. Long and exotic aftertaste. Terrific wine. Best after 2010. (JS)" (03/2003)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2000 Lynch-Bages, Pauillac (97RP, 96WS, 95JS, 95WE, 94VN, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Beginning to open magnificently, the still dense purple-colored 2000 reveals a blossoming bouquet of blackberries, cassis, graphite and pen ink. Full-bodied with velvety tannins that have resolved themselves beautifully over the last eleven years, this wine is still an adolescent, but it exhibits admirable purity, texture, mouthfeel and power combined with elegance. One of the all-time great examples of Lynch Bages, the 2000 is just beginning to drink well yet promises to last for another 20-25+ years. (RP)" (08/2011)

The complex aromas and thickly textured flavors range from plum and raisin to coffee, minerals and mint. Not so elegant as a typical Cheval; more in the mold of the powerful '47 and legendary '21. James Suckling: "A stunningly complex and complete nose of flowers, dark fruits, and minerals. Very perfumed and subtle at the same time. The palate is full, yet tight and powerful with perfect tannins and a long, long finish. The quality of the tannins is phenomenal, please leave this alone for ten years. Pull the cork in 2020." 1988 Margaux, Margaux
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1988 Margaux, Margaux (95WS, 93JS, 93RP). Wine Spectator: "This has both sinew and flesh, with taut dried red currant, blackberry and plum skin notes that are forced to expand outward as the core of black tea, charcoal, plum paste and dark humus fills in quickly behind them. The charcoal-tinged grip carries the finish, with more bass than treble at first, but there's perfume here as well. Seriously long and the most overlooked of the truly great vintages here. Drink now through 2025. (JM, Web—2014)"

1998 d'Yquem, Sauternes
Bid on this bottle of 1998 d'Yquem, Sauternes (95RP, 95ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1998 Chateau Yquem was released several months ago. This estate does not allow tasting from cask (where the wine spends 42 months), and it is not released until five years after the vintage. The 1998 Yquem (95 points) is a great success. Made in an elegant style...It is well-delineated, with wonderfully sweet aromas of creme brulee, pineapples, apricots, and white flowers. Medium to full-bodied, it is not as sweet as the biggest/richest Yquem vintages, but it is gorgeously pure, precise, and strikingly complex. Already approachable, it should evolve for 30-50 years without a doubt. (RP)" (10/2003)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2008 Léoville-Barton, St-Julien (96WE, 93JS, 93VN, 92RP, 91WS). Wine Enthusiast: "A dense, beautifully structured wine. It shows intense, ripe fruit with balanced acidity. It’s the fine tannins that give it such class, surrounding the fruit, promising long aging. This is a classic for Léoville-Barton. *Top 100 Cellar Selections of 2011*" (04/2011)

2009 Magdelaine, St-Emilion
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2009 Magdelaine, St-Emilion (94RP, 94WE, 93JS, 93VN, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A property that has largely been replanted over the last 25 years, the 2009 is one of the best the firm of Jean-Pierre Moueix has yet released from this estate. Eighty percent of this vineyard sits on the limestone plateau and 20% on the hillsides, and the 2009 displays a classic confiture of black cherries, some crushed rocks and spring flowers in a full-bodied, yet at the same time, ethereal and rather elegant style. The wine has gorgeous fruit purity, a broad, luscious texture, and more density and richness than one normally finds in this somewhat finesse-styled wine, which seems to have achieved more depth and potential in 2009. This should be drinkable in 5-6 years and keep for 25 or more. (RP)" (02/2012)

2006 Rieussec, Sauternes
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2006 Rieussec, Sauternes (95WE, 93WS, 92RP). Wine Enthusiast: "Wonderful, evocative orange marmalade and ginger flavors play around this rich wine. Its botrytis dryness doesn't detract from the intense sweetness, ripe apricots, spice and deliciously refreshing acidity. The richness is in the texture, but the ripeness is in the open, generous fruit. (RV)" (03/2009)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2009 Latour à Pomerol, Pomerol (93JS, 93WE, 93WS, 92RP, 91ST). Wine Spectator: "A nice, old-school style, with roasted mesquite, tobacco leaf and espresso flavors up front, following through to bittersweet ganache and mulled dark currant notes on the still-slightly taut, but well-framed, finish. Should flesh out a bit more with cellaring. Best from 2014 through 2030." (03/2012)
