2008 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Red Blend
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2008 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Red Blend (92RP, 90WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Quilceda Creek lineup begins with the 2008 Red Wine made up of 81% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Merlot, with the balance Cabernet Franc and Malbec. Aromas of cedar, spice box, mineral, incense, black currant, and blackberry inform the nose of a ripe, savory, smooth-textured wine. In the glass it displays more minerality, excellent volume, and enough structure to evolve for 1-2 years. Enjoy this first-class effort now through 2020. (JM)" (08/2011)

1975 Joseph Phelps "Insignia" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this bottle of 1975 Joseph Phelps "Insignia" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (92RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The quality has turned out to be quite high with wines of longevity as well as an unusual elegance and finesse for Napa Valley. This refined wine offers up notes of forest floor as well as streaks of vegetative matter. Medium-bodied and spicy, the wine is dominated by roasted coffee, cedarwood, damp earth and forest floor characteristics. The fruit profile is along the red fruit spectrum rather than the darker blue and black fruits that were present in the 1974. The wine is very fresh, revealing adequate acidity, and largely resolved tannins, but it is sitting on the edge of an abyss, although it is still very much intact. While it remains outstanding and enjoyable, I wouldn't push my luck much further with this vintage ... (RP)" (11/2013)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A blend of mostly Cabernet Sauvignon and a splash of Syrah (10%) that was first made in 2010, the 2011 The Lovers has some solid Cayuse funk, with copious peat moss, herbs, mineral and violets balanced nicely by black-cherry-styled fruit. Medium to full-bodied, layered and nicely textured, it offers plenty of up-front appeal yet should also evolve gracefully. (JD)" (06/2014)

Bid on this bottle of 2006 Colgin "Tychson Hill Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (98RP, 96JS, 94ST, 93VN, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "From Colgin’s first-growth quality estate vineyard, Tychson Hill, located north of St. Helena, on the western slopes, the 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Tychson Hill Vineyard is performing far better out of bottle than it did from cask. An extraordinary bouquet of flowers, cedar, tobacco leaf, black currants, blueberries, chocolate, and scorched earth scents is followed by a wine of prodigious concentration, purity, depth, and sweet tannins. An amazing effort for this vintage, it is a compelling bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon. (RP)" (12/2008)

Of the 2003 Bond "Pluribus" Napa Valley Red Blend,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "The 2003 Pluribus (the debut vintage of this cuvee) performed spectacularly. Created from some of the estate’s youngest vines planted in decomposed white tufa volcanic soils at an elevation of 1,100 to 1,300 feet on Spring Mountain, it offers a stunning blue/purple color, copious quantities of blueberries, black raspberries and violet-infused fruit intermixed with hints of foresty flora. Rich, full-bodied and pure, this beautiful 2003 is several years away from full maturity, but it should keep for two more decades. The single vineyard wines represent Bill Harlan’s concept of offering single vineyard, micro-climate/terroir-based wines from distinctive sectors of Napa Valley. (RP)

Bid on this bottle of 2013 Rivers-Marie "Panek Vineyard" St. Helena Cabernet Sauvignon (98RP, 93VN, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Panek Vineyard comes from a five-acre, valley-floor vineyard just north of St. Helena near Vineyard 29's Aida. There are 450 cases of this magnificent Cabernet Sauvignon. Notes of Mediterranean herbs intermixed with licorice, blackberry and cassis jump from the glass of this opaque purple wine. Bid on this bottle of 2002 Chateau Montelena "Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (96RP, 93ST, 93WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This young, classic Cabernet Sauvignon represents the quintessential traditional school of Napa Cabernet Sauvignon. It possesses an inky/blue/purple color in addition to a tight, but promising nose of black currants, crushed rocks, earth and spice. Rich, full-bodied, pure and brilliantly executed, with perfect harmony, this is a sensational yet forebodingly backward, youthful Cabernet Sauvignon that needs 4-6 years of cellaring and should keep another quarter of a century. 96+ (RP)" (06/2012)

Complex, expressive aromas of cassis, black cherry, licorice and animal fur. Supple but with good vinosity; ripe acids are in harmony with the wine fruit. 2011 Morlet Family Winery "Mon Chevalier" Knights Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2011 Morlet Family Winery "Mon Chevalier" Knights Valley Cabernet Sauvignon ((91-93VN), 91RP, 91ST). Vinous: "There are plenty of Knights Valley signatures in the 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon Mon Chevalier. Today the tannins are quite massive and imposing, which attenuates the finish a touch, yet the wine's overall balance is quite strong. The 2011 is 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot. Luc and Jodie Morlet's 2010s are off the charts. The 2010s have huge structure, but the fruit is so ripe and voluptuous in these wines that the perception of tannin is often imperceptible. The 2009s, on the other hand, are made from grapes that weren't as physiologically ripe, so the tannins remain firm and in need of time in bottle to soften. As good as the Morlet range is, the most exciting wine appears to be the Morlet Estate, from a vineyard in St. Helena the Morlets purchased a few years ago. (AG)" (12/2012)

The palate still has firm tannins backed with ample sweet red fruit entwined with an earthy/cigar-box flavour. (NM)" (01/2000)

1990 Pichon-Baron, Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 1990 Pichon-Baron, Pauillac (97RP, 94WS, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A remarkable vintage for Pichon Longueville Baron, 1990 is one of this estate’s two or three finest wines made in the last 40 years. Still inky/blue/purple-tinged to the rim, it reveals an extraordinary bouquet of charcoal, incense, creme de cassis, blue and black fruits, and a hint of licorice as well as an impressively long finish. While drinkable, its evolution is extremely slow, and I would not be surprised to see it last another two decades or more." (06/2009)

2013 Orin Swift "Mercury Head" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2013 Orin Swift "Mercury Head" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (98RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 100% Cabernet Sauvignon aged 18 months in 50% new French oak, is the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Mercury Head. Certainly one of the more intriguing labels, with a real Mercury-head dime embedded in the glass bottle, this 4,500-case cuvée comes from blocks in Taplin, Morisoli and Atlas Peak vineyards. The final blend is a selection of their best barrels, bottled and aged another six months prior to release. This is a killer Cabernet Sauvignon, full-bodied and multilayered, with stunning blueberry and blackberry fruit, floral acacia notes, a hint of brioche and subtle toasty oak followed by a massive, full-bodied wine with sweet tannin and beautifully integrated acidity, alcohol and wood. This profound Cabernet Sauvignon should drink well now and for 25+ years. Dave Phinney may well be 2015's winemaker of the year for this wine taster. (RP)" (10/2015)

2010 Beringer Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2010 Beringer Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (92RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley) is richer, deeper and riper than the Knights Valley bottling. Chocolate, mocha, plums and spices come to life in this fleshy, mid-weight wine. Readers who appreciate a more mineral-inflected style of Cabernet will prefer the Knights Valley bottling, while those who appreciate radiant, fruit-forward Cabernets are likely to prefer the Napa Valley. Both are beautiful. The blend is 95% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Cabernet Franc and 1% each Petit Verdot and Merlot. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2020. This lineup from Beringer is full of highlights. The top Cabernet Sauvignon bottlings are terrific, but I am just as drawn to the entry and mid-tier offerings for their superb value and wide availability in the market. (AG) " (12/2012)

1989 Lynch-Bages, Pauillac
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1989 Lynch-Bages, Pauillac (99RP, 96WS, 95ST, 94JS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1989 has taken forever to shed its formidable tannins, but what a great vintage of Lynch Bages! I would rank it at the top of the pyramid... Its dense purple color reveals a slight lightening at the edge and the stunning bouquet offers classic notes of creme de cassis, subtle smoke, oak and graphite. Powerful and rich with some tannins still to shed at age 22, it is still a young adolescent in terms of its evolutionand will benefit from another 4-5 years of cellaring. 2010 Abreu "Madrona Ranch" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2010 Abreu "Madrona Ranch" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (98RP, 98VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Madrona Ranch, which David Abreu told me he crop-thinned by at least 50%, is a more backward, tannic, brooding wine at present. An inky/purple color and lots of baking spice, espresso, black and blue fruits, and hints of graphite and toast emerge from this wine as well as formidable tannins in the finish. However, the tannins are sweet and well-integrated in this big, blockbuster effort. It will require patience by purchasers as it needs to be forgotten for 4-5 years; it will drink well over the following three decades. As a set of wines, it is hard to surpass the four cuvees from the estate vineyards of David Abreu. As I have written many times in the past, all of these wines are truly world-class efforts that stand alongside proprietary red wines made from Bordeaux varietals from any appellation in the world. Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2007 Screaming Eagle Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (OWC - 100RP, 100VN, 98WS, 96JS, 96ST) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "As impossible as it might seem, the 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon takes things to another level. An exquisite, celestial bouquet melds into endless layers of fruit as this rich, voluptuous wine blossoms on the palate. Full-bodied and seductive, the 2007 conquers all of the senses with its head spinning, beautiful personality. As always, Screaming Eagle is a bit more restrained next to Napa Valley's other heavy hitters, yet the pedigree of this opulent vintage comes through in spades. A kaleidoscope of aromas and flavors flows through to the creamy, textured finish. I have tasted the 2007 several times recently and it has always been magnificent. The 2007 appears to be shutting down just a touch, but that is probably a good thing for the future. (AG)" (12/2012)

However, the wine’s purity and hints of kirsch, black currants, berry fruit and toasty oak are well-displayed and well-integrated into this seamlessly constructed effort. (RP)" (10/2013)

Ripe, rich and velvety on entry, then concentrated in the middle, with flavors of red cherry, cassis, spices, bay leaf, dark chocolate and espresso. 1974 Ridge Vineyards "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1974 Ridge Vineyards "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon (100VN, 92RP). Vinous: "Remarkably dark and vivid, especially for a wine of its age, the 1974 Cabernet Sauvignon Monte Bello is a reference point for what California Cabernet Sauvignon can be. The 1974 is sweet, perfumed and impeccably balanced, with remarkable depth and exceptional harmony. All the elements are in the right place. The 1974 is an utterly moving, transcendental wine that takes me back to the handful of greatest California Cabernet Sauvignons I have ever tasted. Quite simply, this is as good as it gets. Interestingly, Paul Draper adds that the 1974 took 20-25 years to show the full breadth of its potential. The 1974 was made entirely from the original 1940s plantings, including a parcel believed to be one of the three oldest surviving Cabernet Sauvignon vineyards in California. It goes without saying, but readers who still own the 1974 should be thrilled. To be honest,

Opulently textured and full-bodied with gorgeous levels of crème de cassis, melted licorice, espresso roast and chocolate, it possesses high but sweet, velvety tannins, massive body, and fabulous purity as well as length. This could turn out to be a candidate for perfection in another 8-10 years. It will drink well for 30-50 years, but will always be much more approachable and charming than its 2010 counterpart. 2000 Lascombes, Margaux (OWC)
Bid on this 12-bottle lot of 2000 Lascombes, Margaux (OWC - 90RP) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The first of a succession of brilliant wines that have emerged from this previously moribund estate over the last decade, the fully mature 2000 Lascombes is an outstanding effort. Notes of cedarwood, roasted herbs, incense, black cherries, and currants emerge from this medium-bodied, evolved Margaux. (RP)" (06/2010)

2007 Dominus Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2007 Dominus Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (98RP, 97WE, 96W&S, 94ST, 93JS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Dominus, the quintessential model of haute couture, is pure elegance exhibiting a seamless integration of wood, tannin, alcohol and acidity as well as a complex bouquet of cedar, new saddle leather, sweet kirsch, black currant and plum fruit and a notion of licorice. Both the 2007 and 2008 Dominus should drink well for 25-30 years. (RP)" (12/2010)

2009 Léoville-Poyferré, St-Julien (OWC)
Bid on this 12-bottle lot of 2009 Léoville-Poyferré, St-Julien (OWC - 100RP, 96JS, 96WE, 95ST, 93WS) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the more flamboyant and sumptuous wines of the vintage, this inky/purple-colored St.-Julien reveals thrilling levels of opulence, richness and aromatic pleasures. A soaring bouquet of creme de cassis, charcoal, graphite and spring flowers is followed by a super-concentrated wine with silky tannins, stunning amounts of glycerin, a voluptuous, multilayered mouthfeel and nearly 14% natural alcohol. Displaying fabulous definition for such a big, plump, massive, concentrated effort, I suspect the tannin levels are high even though they are largely concealed by lavish amounts of fruit, glycerin and extract. Anticipated maturity: 2018-2040. (RP)" (02/2012)

James Suckling: "Gorgeous aromas of crushed blackberries and blueberries, with vanilla bean. Full-bodied, with a solid core of very ripe fruit, toasted oak, milk chocolate and a long finish. Layered and intense. Made from organically grown grapes. Try in 2018." (02/2012)

1986 Léoville-Las-Cases, St-Julien
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1986 Léoville-Las-Cases, St-Julien (100RP, 97ST, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The late Michel Delon always thought that this was the greatest vintage he had produced. We often tasted it side by side with the 1982, because I always preferred the latter vintage. Of course, the two vintages are quite different in style, with the 1986 a monument to classicism, with great tannin, extraordinary delineation, and a huge, full-bodied nose of sweet, ripe cassis fruit intermixed with vanilla, melon, fruitcake, and a multitude of spices. The wine has always been phenomenally concentrated, yet wonderfully fresh and vigorous. The wine still seems young, yet it is hard to believe it is not close to full maturity. It is a great example of Leoville Las Cases, and another compelling reason to take a serious look at the top Cabernet Sauvignon-based Medocs of 1986. Anticipated maturity: 2005-2035. 2004 Mouton Rothschild, Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 2004 Mouton Rothschild, Pauillac (94JS, 94W&S, 93VN, 93WS, 92ST, 90RP). James Suckling: "I drank this 2004 Chateau Mouton-Rothschild the other night at home with some wine producers. I decanted it only right before serving - a mistake made while concentrating on the cooking food. On the nose there were coffee and chocolate aromas with hints of vanilla. It was super fruity, and its medium body was coupled with beautifully soft tannins. This is just coming around now and it's very New World in style. Overall, a much overlooked vintage from Mouton." 1998 Latour, Pauillac

Deeper than Les Forts but currently rather mute in the middle. Strongly minerally. Offers classic Latour structure and spine. Finishes with sneaky, subtle persistence. (ST)" (05/2001)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2012 Cayuse "The Lovers" Walla Walla Valley Red Blend (OWC - 96RP) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the more voluptuous, thick and chewy releases, the 2012 The Lovers (86% Cabernet Sauvignon and 14% Syrah) is locked and loaded with notions of black raspberries, cassis, smoked earth, tobacco and licorice. Massively built on the palate, with a full throttle, rich, tannic mouthfeel, give it 3-4 years and drink anytime over the following 15+ years.(JD)" (06/2015)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2004 Domaine de Chevalier Rouge, Pessac-Léognan (95W&S, 93WE, 92JS, 90RP, 90ST, 90WS). Wine & Spirits: "The fineness of Chevalier's tannin is matched by the nobility of the fruit, a Cabernet that rides high across the palate, then lasts as a deep chord of flavor. The integration of the tannin and firm, currantlike fruit creates the wine's beauty for now, compelling for its balance of freshness and concentration. Sleek and dry as the stones in which it grows, this has lasting fruit richness for a long life ahead." (10/2007)

1977 Joseph Phelps 'Insignia' Napa Proprietary Red
Bid on this bottle of 1977 Joseph Phelps 'Insignia' Napa Proprietary Red. 92 points from Robert Parker...'The 1977 Insignia, which has been fully mature for a number of years, exhibits an intensely fragrant, herb, mint, spice, and cassis-scented nose. In the mouth, it is all velvet and lushness, with gobs of fruit, silky tannins, and plenty of glycerin and alcohol in its lusty finish. Among all the Insignia releases, it is one of the most enjoyable for drinking over the next 4-5 years.' (April 1992)

2014 Rivers-Marie "Corona Vineyard" Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2014 Rivers-Marie "Corona Vineyard" Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon (96RP, (90-93VN)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Corona Vineyard comes from the western Oakville hillside that was once an old gravel quarry. Blue/purple with notes of earth, crushed rock, blueberry and blackberry fruit, this is a relatively tannic, backward style compared to the other Cabernets with plenty of minerality, a muscular structure, full-bodied mouthfeel and loads of blue, red and black fruits. This is impressive and potentially fabulous with a great upside, but needs 3-5 years of bottle age and should keep for up to 30 years. (RP)" (10/2016)

1997 Chateau Montelena "Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 1997 Chateau Montelena "Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (98RP, 95WS, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "There are 10,200 cases of the remarkable 1997 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate. Opaque purple-colored with a dense, chewy, full-bodied personality, it displays abundant cassis, mineral, and earth notes. This brilliantly made, super-concentrated, pure, blockbuster possesses sweet tannin as well as a terrific finish. Having added additional weight since last year, this sumptuous, multilayered, profoundly concentrated Cabernet contains 14% alcohol. It is a candidate for 25-30 years of longevity. (RP)" (12/2000)

2000 Duhart-Milon Rothschild, Pauillac
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2000 Duhart-Milon Rothschild, Pauillac (93WS, 90RP). Wine Spectator: "Very solid, this sports lots of fresh bay, pepper and rosemary notes amid a slightly chunky core of black currant and fig paste flavors. The finish picks up a prominent charcoal edge, but this is warm and inviting overall. Like a cabin hideaway, this is pleasantly rustic. (Web-2016, JM)" (07/2003)

1994 Dalla Valle Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1994 Dalla Valle Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (94RP, 94WS). Wine Spectator: "The 1994 Cabernet Sauvignon, which I have drunk with great pleasure despite its backwardness, possesses a full-bodied, multi-layered personality, with plenty of tannin, but sufficient earthy, black currant/plum-like fruit to balance out the wine's structure. With an opaque purple color, a high tannin level, and gorgeous layers of fruit and intensity, it will be at its peak after 4-6 years of cellaring, and will last for 20-25 years. I don't think I need to reinforce the fact that these offerings are extremely difficult to find, but isn't that the way it always is with such extraordinary wines?" (12/1997)
