2006 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2006 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (98WE, 96RP, 95ST, 94WS). Wine Enthusiast: "*** Cellar Selection *** The 2006 flagship Cabernet from Quilceda Creek is a massive wine that has just begun to emerge from its slumber. When first released the wine seemed to have entered a dumb phase, but six months later it responds to decanting and shows its muscle. Fruit flavors of black, brandied cherries, cassis and bourbon-soaked plums are wrapped in generous, layered oak. The wine is dusty, smoky, laced with streaks of licorice and brightened with sharp acids. It continues to expand further in the glass, adding flesh and spice to its frame, with a cedar/cigar box finish. (PG)" (03/2010)

Wine Spectator: "Super-refined 1983 Bordeaux with an excellent deep ruby color and intense cigar-box, plum and berry aromas and flavors; there's even a hint of mint. It's full-bodied but very reserved in style with fine tannins and a seductively long finish. (JS)" (10/1994)

Praise for Ridge's cellar classics from the 1980s by Antonio Galloni: "It’s always a pleasure to have the opportunity to revisit some of the reference point wines that have emerged from Ridge over the last few years. As I have written in the past, if the United States had a formal classification of estates, Ridge would be the equivalent of a Bordeaux First Growth. These wines only serve to further reinforce that view." (06/2017)

2005 Tor Kenward "Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard" Napa Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2005 Tor Kenward "Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard" Napa Cabernet Sauvignon (96RP, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A magnificent effort, the 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To-Kalon Vineyard (approximately 300 cases) is reminiscent of a Bordeaux Pauillac. Cedar wood, creme de cassis, licorice, and spice box aromas soar from the glass of this opaque ruby/purple-colored cuvee. With fabulous fruit, intensity, full-bodied power, authoritative richness, and multiple flavor dimensions, this is a blockbuster Cabernet Sauvignon that should drink well for 20+ years. Tor Kenward and his winemaker, Jeff Ames, have produced some breakthrough efforts in 2005 and 2006. A longtime executive at Beringer as well as a meticulous wine connoisseur who knows great wine as well as anybody, Kenward is carving out a superb reputation for wine quality. 2007 Pride Mountain "Reserve" Sonoma/Napa County Claret
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2007 Pride Mountain "Reserve" Sonoma/Napa County Claret (95CG, 95RP, 94WS, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Its opaque purple color is followed by a beautiful flowery nose revealing notions of blueberry pie, blackberries, cassis and a hint of vanillin in the background. An opulent, full-bodied red with great depth, purity and richness, it is a blend of 82% Sonoma fruit and 18% Napa fruit. The texture is like a skyscraper and the wine is plush, opulent and ideal for drinking over the next 10-15 years. This brilliant estate, whose vineyards straddle the Napa/Sonoma county line at the top of Spring Mountain, continues to turn out a bevy of exciting wines that first made headlines when Bob Foley was the winemaker. The transition from Foley to the current winemaker, Sally Johnson, has gone flawlessly. (RP)" (12/2010)

2013 Hundred Acre "Few and Far Between" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2013 Hundred Acre "Few and Far Between" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (100RP, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Obviously, the Eisele Vineyard next door is a first-growth quality vineyard, and so is Jayson Woodbridge’s 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Few and Far Between. This has some Cabernet Franc (5%-15%), and spends 32 months in barrel. It is an absolutely outrageously great wine from the volcanic rocks and white volcanic ash of these soils in this northeast sector of Napa to the south of Calistoga. The finish goes on for over a minute, as this wine has layers and layers of fruit. If anything, it reminded me of a Château Latour on steroids. A magnificent example, it is one of the prodigious wines of this great vintage for Bordeaux varietals in Napa. The 2013 Few and Far Between already drinks well, but will still be reveling its purchasers 35-40 years from now. The sad thing about the Few and Far Between Vineyard is that it is only a five-acre parcel. (RP)" (10/

Reasonably evolved, and extremely seductive aromatically, with a slightly structured finish, it can be enjoyed now and over the next 15 years. Proprietor Paul Frank (a former jeweler, hence the name) has turned a great winemaker loose, resulting in a powerful, rich red with a French-like elegance and complexity. The wine boasts a saturated inky/purple color as well as extraordinary density of fruit and cassis, and huge tannin, body, and extract. It is a substantial, palate-staining, long, muscular Cabernet that should only be purchased by connoisseurs with cold cellars as well as patience. Bid on this bottle of 2009 Lynch-Bages, Pauillac (98RP, 97JS, 96WE, 96WS, 93ST, 93VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Performing even better from bottle than it did from barrel, this appears to be the finest Lynch Bages since the 2000, 1990 and 1989. According to the chateau, the 2009 has the highest level of polyphenols ever measured as well as high alcohol (nearly 13.5%). A blend of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest largely Merlot with touches of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, it is an expressive, voluptuously textured effort with unctuosity and powerful, juicy, succulent blackberry and black currant flavors, low acids, a layered, massive mouthfeel, but no sense of heaviness or fatigue. 2004 Pavie, St-Emilion
Bid on this bottle of 2004 Pavie, St-Emilion (96W&S, 95WS, 94RP, 91VN). Wine & Spirits: "A conspicuously modern wine, Pavie with its hyper-ripe fruit and substantial new oak treatment stands out as an offense to some, a glorious pleasure to others. In the case of the 2004, it carries the oak beautifully, untamed by it. The wine is wild, in fact, and quite hard to resist. The cool complexity of the tannins grows out of three terroirs: the limestone plateau, a sector of gravel and limestone and a third sector of clay. The fruit opens with thick-skinned black plum power, reverberating with feral scents and violets. Staunch and formidable, the wine is packed with life." (10/2007)

Bid on this bottle of 2010 Larcis Ducasse, St-Emilion (98RP, 97JS, 97VN, 94ST, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The wine boasts 14.6% natural alcohol and is a final blend of roughly three-fourths Merlot and the rest Cabernet Franc, cropped at a ridiculously low 19 hectoliters per hectare. Notes of licorice, garrigue, incense, smoked meats, espresso, creme de cassis and blackberry liqueur jump from the glass of this unbelievably intense wine. Remarkably full, with compelling freshness and precision, this is a fabulous effort in 2010. It will probably close down over the next several years, and not re-emerge for at least a decade, something that often happens with the bigger, richer, more muscular St.-Emilions from the limestone hillsides and plateaux. This is one of the superstars of the vintage and a profound wine. Drink it between 2020 and 2045. 98+ (RP)" (02/2013)

1996 Léoville-Barton, St-Julien
Bid on this bottle of 1996 Léoville-Barton, St-Julien (93RP, 92ST, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1996 Leoville Barton appears more youthful than the 1996 Langoa Barton in the glass with a healthy deep garnet core. The aromatics unfurl gracefully in the glass revealing briary, wild hedgerow, black truffle and sandalwood scents -- firmly in secondary aroma stage but with appreciable presence and intensity. The palate is medium-bodied with grippy tannin that form its firm and classic structure, spice, white pepper and cloves infusing the slightly animally red berry fruit. This is an adorable Léoville Barton that is occupying a very 'happy' place at the moment -- superb precision, old school claret at its best. Decant for an hour no more, then enjoy. (NM)" (10/2016)

2003 Opus One Napa Valley Proprietary Red (OWC)
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2003 Opus One Napa Valley Proprietary Red (OWC - 94RP, 90VN) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This blend of 91% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Merlot and Malbec aged 17 months in French oak is a strong effort offering creme de cassis, cedarwood, white chocolate and spice box. It possesses a Bordeaux-like personality, as one might expect since Opus One is owned by Baroness Philippe de Rothschild and the winemaking team comes primarily from Pauillac. The significant tannin in the wine provides a slight austerity, but this is a full-bodied, rich effort that marks the beginning of a period when Opus One finally began to live up to the enormous potential first announced in the late 1970s by the late Baron Philippe de Rothschild and the late Robert Mondavi. Although accessible now, the 2003 will benefit from another 4-5 years of cellaring and should keep for two decades. (RP)" (06/2013)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2003 Joseph Phelps "Backus Vineyard" Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon (OWC - 98RP, 92ST) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon Backus Vineyard, from the red soils of the Oakville Corridor and eastern hillsides overlooking Screaming Eagle and Rudd Estate, is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. Blackberry, blueberry, crushed rock and white flower aromas soar from the glass of this stunningly rich, full-bodied wine. One of the most concentrated and potentially long-lived wines of the vintage, it is unquestionably a candidate for wine of the vintage. It is richer and more backward than the Insignia, but stunningly multidimensional, built like a skyscraper, and staggeringly profound. Wow! What an amazing wine. Forget it for another 4-5 years and drink it over the following quarter century. For statisticians, the 2003 Insignia finished with 14.4% alcohol and the Backus, 14.3%. (RP) 98+" (06/2013)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2004 Bond "St. Eden" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (98RP, 96WE, 93AG, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon St. Eden, which comes from a valley floor vineyard in Oakville, is another dead ringer for a great Pauillac, possibly a young Mouton. Dense bluish/purple in color with stunning notes of cedarwood, unsmoked high-quality cigar tobacco, creme de cassis and espresso roast, this wine has fabulous fruit, density and a full-bodied, youthful mouthfeel, wonderful balance and purity, and a terrific finish that goes on for close to a minute. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "In contrast to the more linear, structured, but massive 2001, the 2002 Shafer Cabernet Sauvignon Hillside Select is pure fruit-bomb material, but stunningly proportioned, beautifully pure, with notes of melted chocolate, blackcurrant jam, sweet black cherries, licorice, camphor and charcoal. Very full-bodied, like the 2001, but much more lavishly fruited, it is more accessible and hedonistically, as well as intellectually, satisfying. If the 2001 is the long-distance runner, this comes across more like a middle-distancer. It had performed fabulously well since it was released by the winery, and even though it’s still an adolescent in terms of its evolution, this wine is a head-turner in wine tastings, and a spectacular effort from Napa. Drink now or drink in 20-25 years. (RP)" (12/2014)

2012 Futo Oakville Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2012 Futo Oakville Bordeaux Blend (99RP, (93-95VN)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The original wine from the Oakville Estate Vineyard is a relatively small cuvée of 546 cases. The 2012 Proprietary Red Estate is a blend of 72% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Cabernet Franc and 4% Petit Verdot. This is a drop-dead beautiful wine with an absolutely extraordinary nose of white flowers, blueberries, blackcurrants, licorice and camphor. Stunning forest floor notes also make an appearance in this ripe, full-bodied, opulent wine that is begging to be given a three-digit score. The silkiness of the tannins and the stunning purity of fruit of this unfined and unfiltered wine is simply breathtaking. This is just an incredible effort to drink now or over the next 30+ years. Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2009 Montrose, St-Estèphe (100JS, 98RP, 97ST, 97WS, 96WE). James Suckling: "Blueberries, currants and Indian spices on the nose follow through to a full body, with ultra-fine tannins and a lovely finish. It's intense and refined. A beauty. It goes on for minutes. Speechless. Better and cleaner than the great 1990. Try in 2022." (02/2012)

2013 Maybach "Materium" Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2013 Maybach "Materium" Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon (100RP, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "There are roughly 600 cases of the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Materium, all of which comes from the Weitz Vineyard on the eastern Vaca Mountain hillside of Oakville at an elevation of about 1,000 feet above the Silverado Trail. This is shallow soil interspersed with loads of pebbles and stones. This wine is incredible first-growth material – a magical Cabernet Sauvignon with an opaque purple color, an extraordinary nose of blackberry and cassis, white flowers, crushed rock and minerality followed by a full-bodied majestic mouthfeel with phenomenal balance, purity and overall equilibrium. Stunningly rich and impressive, this wine will hit its peak in 8-10 years and has the potential to last 40-50 years. For those who keep track of such things, the wine was completely aged in 100% new Darnajou and Taransaud barrels. (RP)" (10/2015)

2006 Lafite Rothschild, Pauillac (3L)
Bid on this 3L-bottle lot of 2006 Lafite Rothschild, Pauillac (3L) (96WE, 95RP, 95ST, 95WS). Wine Enthusiast: "As so often with Lafite, it is power that marks this wine. That, and density of texture. The additional element in this vintage, and at this stage of the wine’s development, is a dominant wood element. The vanilla and tannins from the wood match well with the concentrated tannins of the fruit, which is dark, dense and tight. This is a wine for long-term aging: in 15 years this will have superb richness. *Cellar Selection* (RV)" (03/2009)

Full body with phenomenal detail featuring delicate but intense blackberry, espresso, toasted oak, caramel and dark chocolate. Cedar and sweet tobacco. Finesse all over. The wine of the vintage? Everything is there. Great energy. Best in 2018." (05/2014)

2014 Outpost "True Vineyard" Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2014 Outpost "True Vineyard" Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon (100RP, 92VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The limited-production 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon True Vineyard (475 cases) is also 100% Cabernet Sauvignon aged 20 months in 90% new French oak. This is an amazing 2014 and one of the few perfect wines that I could find while tasting at the top addresses in Northern California. Blue/purple in color, with extraordinarily intense floral notes intermixed with blueberry, blackberry, crushed charcoal and camphor, the wine hits the palate with a spectacular display of glycerin, fruit, sweet tannin, adequate acidity, and wonderful equilibrium and purity. The finish was close to a minute. This wine is irresistible, although it is certainly capable of lasting three decades or more. Kudos to the Dotzlers and Thomas Rivers Brown for this magnificent achievement! (RP)" (10/2016)

2013 Dominus Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2013 Dominus Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (100DC, 100JS, 100RP, 100VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2013 Dominus is, to my way of thinking, one of the most profound wines Christian Moueix has yet made in his rather brilliant winemaking history, both in France and in Napa Valley. This wine, with very low yields of only 3,500 cases and a final blend of 89% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Petit Verdot and 4% Cabernet Franc, offers up notes of cedar wood, forest floor, loamy soil and oodles of blackberry and blackcurrant fruit. Very opaque purple in color, super-pure and intense, this wine has low acidity, but ripe, noticeable tannins. This is a 30- to 40-year wine and a profound effort from this famous vineyard in Yountville. Drink it over the next 40+ years. (RP)" (10/2015)

1996 Pichon-Lalande, Pauillac
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 1996 Pichon-Lalande, Pauillac (97VN, 96RP, 95ST, 92WS). Vinous: "What a treat it is to taste these two Pichon Lalandes straight from the chateau’s cellar. The 1996 Pichon Lalande is stratospheric from the very first taste. The deep, layered bouquet alone is deeply transfixing. Smoke, mocha, dark spices, lavender, crème de cassis, a host of dark-fleshed fruits and a touch of warm, resonant sweetness from the French oak draw me in. All of those sensations follow through to the palate, where the wine is massive, intense and totally enveloping. Time has softened the tannins to the point the 1996 is ready to drink, but there is enough sheer concentration here to support another 20-30 years of exceptional drinking. I am not sure I possess the vocabulary to describe just how captivating the 1996 is, but I do know this: If I had an opportunity to pick up a few well-stored bottles I would take it in a nanosecond. Readers holding the 1996 should be thrilled. The 1996

1997 Philip Togni Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum lot of 1997 Philip Togni Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (98RP, 98VN, 92ST, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1997 Cabernet Sauvignon has to be one of the great buys left for profound Napa Cabernet. He’s done the aging for you, and of course the wine is still an adolescent in terms of aging potential. Brilliant notes of cedar, spice box, cassis, smoke, and licorice soar from the glass, as if this wine were pretending to be a first-growth Pauillac. Full-bodied, powerful, still with a boatload of tannin to resolve, and just a faint lightening of the dense purple color at the rim, this is a brilliant wine from a vintage that produced relatively quick-evolving wines, but no such thing is tolerated at Philip Togni. This is a great Cabernet Sauvignon with the exuberance, purity, and richness of fruit that Napa provides, but with a Bordeaux structure that Togni, with his Bordeaux upbringing, somehow builds into the wine. This wine will continue to drink well

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2012 Le Plus de La Fleur de Boüard, Lalande-de-Pomerol ((93-95RP), 93VN, 91JS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Not yet in bottle, the 2012 Le Plus, which is also called Cuvée Oscar, is one of those profound wines that exceeds all realistic parameters for what’s expected from this appellation. Inky purple in color, with stunning blackberry, blueberry and raspberry fruit notes, licorice, as well as graphite and spring flowers, the wine is opulent, full-bodied, massively concentrated and a tour de force from an obsessed genius of Bordeaux. It should drink well for 20 or more years. (RP)" (04/2015)

2004 Sloan Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (OWC)
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2004 Sloan Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (OWC - 98RP, 96WS, 92VN) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2004 Sloan’s spectacular inky/purple/garnet color is followed by notes of high quality espresso roast, chocolate, black currants, truffles and a striking minerality. Full-bodied and super-rich with that roasted character that one finds in Cote Rotie and some of the great Haut-Brions from Pessac-Leognan, this full-bodied, rich 2004 is a super-star of the vintage. Although the tannins are elevated, they are extremely sweet and well-integrated. This spectacular 2004 is performing even better now than it did following bottling. It is also one of the more developed and evolved vintages of Sloan, no doubt because that was the nature of the 2004 vintage. Drink it now and over the next two decades. (RP)" (04/2014)

2001 Spottswoode "Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2001 Spottswoode "Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (98RP, 94VN, 93JS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Production fell back to about 4,300 cases in 2001, which was a fabulous growing season in Napa Valley and from the get-go heralded as a profound vintage. Certainly Spottswoode hit all cylinders with its blend of 95% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc, and the first in a series of wines from them that eclipsed 14% alcohol (this one is 14.1%). Still dense purple to the rim, the wine is a young adolescent, with beautiful floral notes intermixed with deep crème de cassis, blackberry and blueberry Hints of licorice and graphite also present in this full-bodied, multilayered, magnificent and majestic Cabernet Sauvignon that is shaping up to be a great classic. There is at least 25-30 years of tasty longevity left in this large-scale Spottswoode that still seems to have a vague resemblance to Château Margaux. Bravo! 98+ points. (ST)" (08/2016)

1964 Cheval Blanc, St-Emilion
Bid on this bottle of 1964 Cheval Blanc, St-Emilion (96RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A blockbuster Cheval Blanc and probably the greatest Cheval Blanc made during the sixties and seventies, this wine still has a dense, murky garnet color and knock-out aromatics of coffee, black fruit, and spice box. The wine is opulent and fleshy with enormous glycerin and power. It is still very muscular, also with slightly robust tannins to shed, but this wine seems almost immortal in terms of longevity. My best guess is that, from pristinely stored bottles, this wine is still in late adolescence and not yet at its peak of maturity. Anticipated maturity: Now-2025. (RP)" (12/2002)

1974 Concannon Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 8-bottle lot of 1974 Concannon Cabernet Sauvignon . It doesn't get any better, vintage wise, than 1974 in California. The wines, many of which are still very much alive and strong today, are tremendous examples of the old style of California winemaking, before everything was uniformly ripe and alcoholic and extracted as can be. Concannon has been kicking around since 1883 and their Cabernet bona fides are strong. This is a great example of California Cab from the classic Judgement of Paris era.

Bid on this bottle of 2014 Schrader "Beckstoffer Las Piedras, LPV" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (99RP, 97JS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon LPV is from clone 337 from the Las Piedras Vineyard in St. Helena. This shows Mission Haut-Brion-like characteristics as it has in the past, with crushed rock, wet gravel, scorched earth, blackberry and blueberry fruit. It is clearly one of my favorites of this entire tasting. It has 14.5% natural alcohol and was aged in 90% new Darnajou and 10% new Taransaud barrels. This is a killer effort. (RP)" (10/2016)
