Of the 1985 Caymus "Special Selection" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "Although outstanding, Caymus's 1985 did not live up to expectations in this tasting. It reveals a lavishly oaked, smoky, jammy, blackcurrant-scented nose, sweet, round, glycerin-imbued, full-bodied flavors, and excellent purity, ripeness, and length. Other bottles have been more concentrated and complex, but who's complaining? (RP)" (04/1995)

Of the 1994 Peter Michael "Les Pavots" Knights Valley Bordeaux Blend,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "The superb 1994 Les Pavots is, to my palate, the finest example of this wine Peter Michael has yet made. Since its bottling, this deep, saturated purple-colored wine has taken on a gorgeous nose of cassis intermixed with violets, licorice, and attractive spicy oak. Sweet, rich, and surprisingly showy for a Les Pavots, this medium to full-bodied wine possesses a luscious, multi-layered texture, outstanding depth, and attractively integrated tannin and acidity. When I tasted it, it was more evolved and delicious than I had anticipated given its recent bottling. (RP)" (12/1997)

2001 Pride Mountain "Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2001 Pride Mountain "Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (98RP, 97WS, 94VN, 90CG). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Remarkably, the 2001 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon may be even better. Staggeringly pure notes of creme de cassis, violets, licorice and graphite soar from the glass of this inky/purple-colored wine. Composed of 98% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Petit Verdot, and tasting like it is 2-3 years old, it is a stunningly pure, rich, full-bodied, prodigious example of high elevation mountain Cabernet Sauvignon that will not reach full maturity for another 5-7 years, and should age beautifully for another two decades or more. It is a magical wine to smell, taste and contemplate. These impressive 2001s from Pride Mountain Vineyards were made during the regime of Bob Foley and the late Jim Pride. The two most limited production cuvees are the Reserve Claret and Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, which are almost impossible to find. 98+ (RP)" (06/2011)

2006 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2006 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (98WE, 96RP, 95ST, 94WS). Wine Enthusiast: "The 2006 flagship Cabernet from Quilceda Creek is a massive wine that has just begun to emerge from its slumber. When first released the wine seemed to have entered a dumb phase, but six months later it responds to decanting and shows its muscle. Fruit flavors of black, brandied cherries, cassis and bourbon-soaked plums are wrapped in generous, layered oak. The wine is dusty, smoky, laced with streaks of licorice and brightened with sharp acids. It continues to expand further in the glass, adding flesh and spice to its frame, with a cedar/cigar box finish." (03/2010)

2006 Hundred Acre "Kayli Morgan" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2006 Hundred Acre "Kayli Morgan" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (99RP, 96ST, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Wow! I can’t say I underrated this wine, but, boy, it is pushing perfection ... and pushing it quickly. A nearly flawless, monumental effort, the 2006 boasts an extraordinary opaque purple color as well as a sumptuous bouquet of spring flowers, licorice, chocolate, toffee, espresso roast and blackberries. This multilayered wine is built like a skyscraper, with terrific intensity, but no heaviness, stunning richness, full body and great purity. With a youthful, voluptuous mouthfeel, it can be drunk now for its extraordinary purity of fruit, but it will not hit its prime for at least a decade. It should keep for three decades. Aromas and flavors of blackberry/cassis jam, minerals, and subtle oak are found in this extravagantly rich, gargantuan Cabernet Sauvignon that should age effortlessly for half a century. The healthy ruby/purple color is followed by classic, unevolved but promising aromas of minerals, cedar, smoke, and black currants. The wine is medium to full-bodied, with admirable purity, a sweet, lush mid-palate, and ripe tannin in the finish. The top-notch 1997 is a classic, restrained. Anticipated maturity: now-2020. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Thorevilos displays a stunningly blue/purple color along with an exceptional nose of blueberry and blackberry liqueur intermixed with espresso, white chocolate and violets. With unbelievable intensity, a great, full-bodied mouthfeel, stunning purity, a subtle hint of wood, but no hard edges, this is one 2009 that does not have that broodingly tannic structure that is common in this vintage. According to some old-timers, the wine has been fully mature for almost 30 years. It possesses that extraordinary Lafite fragrance of minerals, lead pencil, cedar, and spice. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon is a glorious example of elegance combined with power, purity and richness. A compelling wine in all senses, it reveals a haunting bouquet of acacia flowers, raspberries, blueberries, black currants, graphite and pen ink. The sweetness of the tannins and medium to full-bodied, extraordinarily poised and breathtaking mouthfeel that builds incrementally is all about nobility and balance. It is an honor to taste this special wine. Drink it over the next 20-25 years. Bid on this bottle of 1996 Latour, Pauillac (100RP, 96WS, 95ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Deep garnet-black in color, the 1996 is classic Latour at its utmost. The nose offers a tantalizing array of complex notes including dried Chinese plums, toasted nuts, Indian spices and black olive tapenade over a core of dried cherries and aged meat. The palate is pure power that is stunningly balanced giving a generous level of fruit concentration perfectly offset by a high level of very finely grained tannins and seamless freshness. 1996 Léoville-Las Cases, St-Julien
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1996 Léoville-Las Cases, St-Julien (98RP, 96ST, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A profound Leoville Las Cases, it is one of the great modern day wines of Bordeaux. This wine's hallmark remains a sur-maturite (over-ripeness) of the Cabernet Sauvignon grape. Yet the wine has retained its intrinsic classicism, symmetry, and profound potential for complexity and elegance. The black/purple color is followed by a spectacular nose of cassis, cherry liqueur, pain grille, and minerals. It is powerful and rich on the attack, with beautifully integrated tannin, massive concentration, yet no hint of heaviness or disjointedness. As this wine sits in the glass it grows in stature and richness. It is a remarkable, seamless, palate-staining, and extraordinarily elegant wine - the quintessential St.-Julien. Despite the sweetness of the tannin, I would recommend cellaring this wine for 7-8 years. Anticipated maturity: 2007-2035. (RP)" (04/1999)

It should be drinkable within 4-5 years, and keep for 25-30. This classic Pauillac is a worthy rival to the other-worldly 1996. Anticipated maturity: 2002-2025. (RP)" (02/1998)

The wine is brilliantly made, full-bodied, and tightly-structured with plenty of muscle and outstanding concentration and purity. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "More serious, and one of the wines of the vintage, the 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon (100% Cabernet Sauvignon) has uncommon concentration and depth in the vintage, as well as a broad, structured profile that will allow it to age gracefully. Loaded with sweet creme de cassis, exotic spice, licorice and graphite, it’s a full-bodied, elegant and classically styled effort that has nothing out of place, fine, building tannin and a rock star finish. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Sweet dark cherries and plums are some of the notes that explode from the 2010 Ovid. An utterly vivid, breathtaking wine, the 2010 impresses for its incredible balance and overall sense of harmony. Flowers of all sorts, sage and rosemary develop in the glass, adding tons of complexity. Today the 2010 is a little reticent next to the decidedly more exuberant 2009, which is quite typical of wines from Pritchard Hill at this stage in the evolution of these vintages. Power, pure vibrancy and intensity are the hallmarks of the 2010. This is another stunning wine from the team at Ovid. I can’t wait to see how the 2010 develops in bottle. (AG)" (12/2012)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Georges III Vineyard, from this famous vineyard in Rutherford, is made from Cabernet Sauvignon Clone 337, and 90% new Darnajou and 10% new Taransaud was used. One of the smaller cuveés, the wine has great intensity, with chocolaty cassis notes, fruitcake and forest floor along with licorice and spice. This is a big full-bodied, powerful, rich, yet accessible style of wine, as most 2012s tend to be. Drink it over the next 15-20 years. (RP)" (10/2014)

2010 Trinchero "Meritage" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (3L)
Bid on this 3L-bottle of 2010 Trinchero "Meritage" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (3L) (92RP, 91WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Trinchero’s Cabernet Sauvignon-based 2010 Red Blend Meritage is gorgeous. Clean underlying veins of minerality frame the fruit in this deep, expressive red. Smoke, tobacco and incense develop in the glass, adding further complexity and nuance. This deep, meaty red can be enjoyed now or cellared for up to a decade-plus. There is no shortage of personality here. The 2010 is 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Petit Verdot, 8% Merlot and 3% Cabernet Franc. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2025. (AG)" (12/2012)

2011 Trinchero "Central Park West" St. Helena Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 2011 Trinchero "Central Park West" St. Helena Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon Central Park West Vineyard reveals cassis, sweet cherry and spicy characteristics along with medium to full body and slightly less intensity than the Mario’s Cabernet. Nevertheless, it is a very good, well made 2011 to enjoy over the next 6-8 years. All in all, these are strong examples of the 2011 vintage, an extremely challenging year in Napa Valley. 2007 David Arthur "Elevation 1147" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2007 David Arthur "Elevation 1147" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (96RP, 94WE, 93JS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Elevation 1147 should turn out to be an ageless beauty. Its opaque ruby/purple color is followed by sweet cassis notes intermixed with graphite, charcoal, truffles and earth. Full-bodied, opulent, rich and dense, it is still extremely young, but is loaded with potential. It reveals an underlying minerality as well as a floral component (often noticeable in wines produced from these high elevation vineyards on Pritchard Hill), as well as stunning texture and length. A sensational wine, it should be forgotten for 3-4 years and drunk over the following 25-30. (RP)" (10/2010)

Full-bodied, with chewy tannins, yet silky and refined. This is very, very toned and serious. A wine for long-term aging. Best after 2010. (JS)" (01/2003)

1998 Montrose, St-Estèphe
Bid on this bottle of 1998 Montrose, St-Estèphe (90RP, 90ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A classic effort, the 1998 Montrose exhibits a dense purple color in addition to a sweet nose of jammy cassis, licorice, earth, and smoke. It is a powerful and full-bodied wine with well-integrated tannin. Given Montrose's tendency to shut down, it is performing better out of bottle than I expected. Anticipated maturity: 2005-2030. Although the 1991 exhibits deep color, attractive, spicy, grilled nut, cassis, and weedy aromas, and fine depth, it reveals astringent tannin. (RP)" (02/1994)

2012 Caymus "Special Selection" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2012 Caymus "Special Selection" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (96RP, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Special Selection has a dense blackish/purple color and creamy, sweet crème de cassis fruit, blackberries, a touch of graphite and vanilla, This exuberant, boisterous, in-your-face style of Cabernet Sauvignon is clearly a fruit bomb, so be warned. Full-bodied and opulent with stunning concentration and richness, the wine has no hard edges and is much in the Caymus style of terrific fruit intensity (most of it black and blue), voluptuous texture, and a stunning finish with plenty of glycerin, wood and spice. The alcohol on the label is listed at 14.8%, which seems about accurate. I have Caymus Special Selection in my cellar back to some of the historic wines made by Chuck Wagner’s father in the early 1970s, and while the style’s gotten more precocious and consumer-friendly, these wines, even the more latter-day styles, have

2007 Abreu Howell Mountain Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2007 Abreu Howell Mountain Bordeaux Blend (98RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The riveting 2007 Howell Mountain exhibits aromas of black raspberries, blueberries, crushed rocks and flowers along with full-bodied power accompanied by an ethereal delicacy and sublimity that make it a haunting wine to smell and taste. It should drink well for 25+ years. I am increasingly impressed with Abreu’s Howell Mountain Proprietary Red wine. The blend tends to be about two-thirds Cabernet Sauvignon, 20-25% Cabernet Franc and 10-15% Merlot and Petit Verdot. A completely different animal than the Cappella or Madrona Ranch (which both come from lower elevation vineyards), this cuvee reveals extraordinary notes of crushed rocks and a liqueur of minerals in a steely, full-bodied, powerful style that possesses both intensity and finesse. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2003’s sensational aromatics offer up scents of blueberries, black raspberries, currants, subtle wood spice and spring flower garden. Rich and full-bodied with exquisite purity, an ethereal elegance yet serious substance, texture and length, this is an example of great winemaking and viticulture. Of course, it doesn’t hurt to have a first growth-like terroir. Still in its pre-adolescence, this beauty should age effortlessly for another quarter of a century. Bravo! 97+ (RP)" (06/2013)

1966 Lafite-Rothschild, Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 1966 Lafite-Rothschild, Pauillac (96RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "My God, this is a wonderful mature Lafite. Served blind chez Rosemary George MW it has a definable Pauillac nose with subtle notes of cedar, sous-bois and a touch of dried blood. It has incredible harmony and purity – a bouquet that has you instantly captivated. The palate does not disappoint: a beguiling sense of natural harmony and delineation, not the weight of Latour nor the femininity of Margaux, but a Lafite aiming for understated sophistication. Delicate cedar and cigar box towards the finish that just goes on and on. This bottle vindicates my first encounter in Bordeaux, when it similarly bewitched its audience. Absolutely sublime. A point. Tasted April 2008. (Neal Martin, Wine Journal)" (07/2007)

1970 Haut-Brion, Graves
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1970 Haut-Brion, Graves ((90-92RP), 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "First tasted in March 2002 at an Off-line. Brown rim. Brown sugar, olives and leather nose. Quite rich for 1970. Balanced and very smooth palate. Coffee & sweet red fruits. Fully mature, a highly enjoyable wine (and far cheaper than Latour.) Somewhat under-rated by others. Then again chez Alex Hunt in November 2005. Although a little musty at first, this wine grows and grows on you. A cool, blackberry leaf, cranberry nose with lots of cedar and pine is followed by a tannic, almost rustic, broad-shouldered palate with cedary, tobacco-infused fruit. Very classic in style but suited the venison perfectly. (NM)" (01/2000)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2013 Scarecrow Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (OWC - 100RP, (95-97VN)) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The prodigious 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, including fruit from some of the oldest Cabernet vines still in existence in Napa. This full-bodied classic displays notes of forest floor, earth, crème de cassis, blackberry liqueur, licorice and some pen ink. It is dense, full-bodied, prodigiously rich, massive in intensity, yet relatively light on its feet. This great ballerina of a wine has extraordinary ripeness but pulls back from the edge before going over the top. There are 1,000 cases of this classic, which should age effortlessly for 30+ years. 1996 Grand-Puy-Lacoste, Pauillac
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 1996 Grand-Puy-Lacoste, Pauillac (93RP, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This is unquestionably a profound Grand-Puy-Lacoste, but it is excruciatingly backward. It reveals an essence of creme de cassis character which sets it apart from other Pauillacs. The wine is displaying plenty of tannin, huge body, and sweet black currant fruit intermixed with minerals and subtle oak. Massive, extremely structured, and with 25-30 or more years of longevity, this immensely-styled Grand-Puy-Lacoste will require 7-8 years of patience, perhaps longer. A superb, classic Pauillac. This intense, voluptuously textured, full-bodied St.-Julien possesses low acidity and ripe tannin. Full-bodied with velvety tannins that have resolved themselves beautifully over the last eleven years, this wine is still an adolescent, but it exhibits admirable purity, texture, mouthfeel and power combined with elegance.
