2014 Schrader "Beckstoffer Georges III" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2014 Schrader "Beckstoffer Georges III" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon ((95-97RP)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I’ll keep my notes short, since I’ll be tasting this wines from bottle next year, but the 2014s from Schrader are among the highlights of this vintage, which is certainly an excellent one in Napa, but destined to be lost in the massive shadows cast by 2012 and 2013. The Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer George III Vineyard should ultimately score in the mid-90s, with the potential that it may reach the upper 90s. The wine comes in at about 14.4% to 14.5% natural alcohol. It looks to be a super-duper vintage for Schrader. (RP)" (10/2015)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "There are 325 cases of the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Georges III Vineyard. This is an opaque purple wine with notes of incense, charcoal embers, blueberry and blackberry fruit, a touch of subtle background oak and sweet, velvety tannin in a full-bodied, super-rich intense wine that, in short, is utterly delicious! 2013 Quilceda Creek "Palengat Vineyard" Horse Heaven Hills Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2013 Quilceda Creek "Palengat Vineyard" Horse Heaven Hills Bordeaux Blend (94RP, 93VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "More Merlot dominated in 2013 (they plan to move this back to a more Cabernet Sauvignon dominated blend in the future), the 2013 Palengat Vineyard is another terrific 2013 that makes the most of vintage. Sexy, voluptuous and rounded, with no hard edges, it gives up classic notes of plums, graphite and licorice in its full-bodied, mouth-filling and impossible to resist style. While I’d happily drink a glass (or three) today, it will drink well for another 10-15 years. (JD)" (06/2016)

2012 Larkmead "Solari" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2012 Larkmead "Solari" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (99RP, 95JS, 95WS, 94VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Solari (100% Cabernet Sauvignon aged 20 months in 70% new French oak) is even better than I thought last year. This spectacular wine boasts notes of white chocolate, hot gravel, crème de cassis, blackberries, licorice and forest floor. A subtle smoky barbecue character is noticeable in the background. This is a thrilling, full-bodied, majestic Cabernet Sauvignon to drink over the next 25-30 years, although its tannic structure suggests cellaring it for 2-5 years will be beneficial. 1997 Mayacamas Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 1997 Mayacamas Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (96VN). Vinous: "The 1997 Cabernet Sauvignon tastes almost like it was made yesterday, such is its freshness. Pliant, explosive and racy, the 1997 bursts on the palate with waves of dark red fruit. The flavors remain pretty primary, so readers who want the full Mayacamas experience will have to give the 1997 further bottle age. That is the bad news. The good news is that the 1997 is a truly special wine that will thrill readers for the next two-plus decades. 96+ (AG)" (06/2014)

2014 Realm "The Tempest" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this bottle of 2014 Realm "The Tempest" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend. According to Robert Parker: "Realm Cellars boasts an impressive team of highly motivated men and women led by Juan Mercado and winemaker Benoit Touquette. The consulting winemaker is Michel Rolland. Realm accesses some outstanding vineyard sources, particularly those owned by the omnipresent, bigger-than-life force of Napa Valley, Andy Beckstoffer. Fate was not kind to Realm in the beginning with their first vintage, 2003, completely destroyed by a fire in a Vallejo warehouse where it was being stored. But Juan Mercado, a former medic in the first Gulf war, and someone who learned his trade from the likes of Thomas Rivers Brown, Michel Rolland, John Kongsgaard and Les Behrens, stuck with it, and is now producing incredible wines... The heart of the Realm philosophy is to access some of Napa Valley’s finest vineyards and put together either single-vineyard bottlings or creative proprietary blends." (RP, 10/2014)

Highly aromatic nose combines dark fruits, dried herbs, violet and forest floor spices. Explosively sweet and deep, with a spicy core of dark fruit flavors that fans out on the back half to saturate the palate. Finishes with strong but lush tannins and captivating violet lift. Densely packed and vibrant, with layered, seamless flavors of cassis, licorice and minerals. Shows an almost chocolatey ripeness yet retains outstanding verve. Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "(14.5% alcohol; 80% from To-Kalon): Dark medium ruby color. Sexy, dark aromas of cassis, minerals and bitter chocolate. Sweet, plush and deep, conveying an almost syrupy ripeness counterpointed by unexpected acidity. This very generous wine boasts terrific palate presence and appeal, finishing with suave tannins and outstanding length. I liked this wine very much upon its release but it has taken a while to reveal the liqueur-like ripeness that's typical of this vintage." (05/2016)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2010 Shafer "One Point Five" Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon (95RP, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon One Point Five (99% Cabernet Sauvignon and 1% Petit Verdot) exhibits aromas of blueberries, black currants, incense and delicate floral notes. Following the stunning perfume, this full-bodied, elegant, super-rich wine reveals great definition and purity of black currants and black raspberries gentle wrapped in subtle spicy oak. This classic Cabernet is the quintessential model for both Stags Leap and Napa Cabernet Sauvignon. The tannins are sweet enough that it can be drunk now, but it should evolve easily for two decades. Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 2008 World's End "Good Times, Bad Times-Beckstoffer To-Kalon Vineyard" Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon (93ST, 91WS). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Ruby-red. Brooding aromas of kirsch, cassis, minerals and dusty earth. Intensely flavored and juicy but not hard, with more successfully integrated acidity than the Crossfire. Precise, soil-driven flavors of dark fruits and bitter chocolate really carry on the finish, which features suave, mounting tannins and the structure for extended aging. These are the top-tier single-vineyard wines from the new California project of Jonathan Maltus, previously best known to American wine lovers as the force behind a collection of limited-production bottles from Saint-Emilion (Le Dome, Les Asteries, etc.). Bid on this 3L-bottle lot of 1995 Joseph Phelps "Backus" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (3L) (93RP, 91ST, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1995 Cabernet Sauvignon Backus Vineyard is a wine of great intensity. A massive, saturated black/purple-colored example, it offers an intriguing bouquet and flavors of prunes, black currants, roasted herbs, chocolate, and coffee, huge amounts of glycerin and body, and a gigantic, oversized finish with considerable tannin. This is one wine where the extract level matches the tannin's ferocity, but readers looking for something to cuddle up with over the near-term should be advised that it needs 5-6 years of cellaring. Anticipated maturity: 2003-2025. (RP)" (12/1998)

2013 Scarecrow "M. Étain" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2013 Scarecrow "M. Étain" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (95RP, 94VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2013 M. Etain Cabernet Sauvignon, which is hardly a second wine by any means, offers beautiful blackcurrant fruit with some cedar wood/sandalwood notes, an opulent, full-bodied mouthfeel, stunning purity, and that layered texture that is so enticing. The wine has a beautiful opaque purple color, hints of graphite, blueberry and blackberry fruit, a touch of licorice and the soil undertones that some would say are part of the so-called "Rutherford dust" scenario, although that's debatable. This wine has the sweetness and opulence to be drunk young, but won't hit its prime for at least another 5-8 years and keep for 20-30. (RP)" (12/2015)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2000 Haut-Brion (a blend of 51% Merlot, 43% Cabernet Sauvignon, and the rest Cabernet Franc) showed incredibly at the tasting, and for me is one of the three or four most prodigious wines of the vintage. A compelling nose of roasted herbs, scorched earth, sweet blueberries, plums, black currants, and a hint of graphite is followed by a deep, layered, sumptuously textured, full-bodied Haut-Brion, but one with extraordinary complexity. This wine seems more evolved and approachable than I had expected it to be at age 10. My window of maturity seven years ago was 2012-2040, but I would change that to 2010-2050. (RP)" (06/2010)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2004 Mouton Rothschild, Pauillac (94JS, 94W&S, 93VN, 93WS, 92ST, 90RP). James Suckling: "I drank this 2004 Chateau Mouton-Rothschild the other night at home with some wine producers. I decanted it only right before serving - a mistake made while concentrating on the cooking food. On the nose there were coffee and chocolate aromas with hints of vanilla. It was super fruity, and its medium body was coupled with beautifully soft tannins. This is just coming around now and it's very New World in style. Overall, a much overlooked vintage from Mouton." I did not expect the 2003 Chateau Margaux to show this well in a vintage where the southern part of the Medoc was clearly less impressive than the north. However, it is a beautiful, dark plum/purple-tinged effort with sensational aromatics, a full-bodied mouthfeel, and a youthfulness, precision and freshness that belie what one generally associates with this vintage. It can be drunk now and over the next 15-20 years. Kudos to Chateau Margaux. (RP)" (08/2014)

Of the 1995 Cos d'Estournel, St-Estèphe,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "A wine of extraordinary intensity and accessibility, the 1995 Cos d'Estournel is a sexier, more hedonistic offering than the muscular, backward 1996. Opulent, with forward aromatics (gobs of black fruits intermixed with toasty pain grille scents and a boatload of spice), this terrific Cos possesses remarkable intensity, full body, and layers of jammy fruit nicely framed by the wine's new oak. Because of low acidity and sweet tannin, the 1995 will be difficult to resist young, although it will age for 2-3 decades. Anticipated maturity: 2001-2025. (RP)" (02/1998)

1996 Ducru-Beaucaillou, St-Julien
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1996 Ducru-Beaucaillou, St-Julien (96RP, 94ST, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1996 is long, with a deep mid-palate. It also reveals tannin in the finish. This wine is remarkable. It is muscular, concentrated, and classic. Bottled in late June, 1998, it exhibits a saturated ruby/purple color, as well as a knock-out nose of minerals, licorice, cassis, and an unmistakable lead pencil smell that I often associate with top vintages of Lafite-Rothschild. It is sweet and full-bodied, yet unbelievably rich with no sense of heaviness or flabbiness. The wine possesses high tannin, but it is extremely ripe, and the sweetness of the black currant, spice-tinged Cabernet Sauvignon fruit is pronounced. This profound, backward Ducru-Beaucaillou is a must purchase. (RP)" (04/1999)

The high percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon in the blend (about 80%) resulted in a wine that has put on weight in the bottle. An opaque purple color is accompanied by beautiful aromas of tobacco, new saddle leather, roasted coffee, and cassis. It is dense, medium to full-bodied, and backward, with moderately high tannin, but plenty of sweet fruit, glycerin, and extract to balance out the wine's structure. This well-endowed, classic Pauillac should be at its finest between 2006-2022. (RP)" (04/1999)

1996 Pichon-Lalande, Pauillac

The 1996 Pichon Lalande is stratospheric from the very first taste. The deep, layered bouquet alone is deeply transfixing. Smoke, mocha, dark spices, lavender, crème de cassis, a host of dark-fleshed fruits and a touch of warm, resonant sweetness from the French oak draw me in. All of those sensations follow through to the palate, where the wine is massive, intense and totally enveloping. Time has softened the tannins to the point the 1996 is ready to drink, but there is enough sheer concentration here to support another 20-30 years of exceptional drinking ... (AG)" (02/2016)

2014 Schrader "Beckstoffer To Kalon" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2014 Schrader "Beckstoffer To Kalon" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Praise for the producer from Robert Parker: "As I have written in the past, the Schrader project with Thomas Rivers Brown as their winemaker started as a look at one of Napa Valley’s historic and first-growth vineyard sites – the Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard in Oakville. It has expanded now to include Beckstoffer’s Las Piedras Vineyard in St. Helena and the Beckstoffer Georges III Vineyard in Rutherford. It is basically a study of clonal selections by keeping these wines separate and apart, but enjoying the identical winemaking, upbringing in the cellars and bottling." (10/2016)

2005 Cain "Five" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2005 Cain "Five" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend. As the crow flies, Cain Vineyard and Winery is not far at all from the Napa Valley floor; philosophically, stylistically, it's in a somewhat different place. Located in the Spring Mountain District, the vineyards grow on terraces sculpted around an east-facing amphitheater. Winemaker Chris Howell points out that there's a flower that grows up here, that imparts a distinct sweet aroma when the winds blow across the ridge...is that floral aroma also displayed in this still-evolving 2005 Cain "Five," a blend of five major Bordeaux varietals, with complex fruit, maple syrup and intriguing mint aromas? Meticulous winemaking goes into this wine, including: hand picking, gentle destemming, native-yeast fermentation, and manual pressing. The wine completes malolactic fermentation in the barrel, is blended early, is racked barrel-to-barrel, is egg-white fined, and is bottled without filtration.

2014 Scarecrow "M. Étain" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (OWC)
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2014 Scarecrow "M. Étain" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (OWC - 94RP) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Celia Welch has hit a home run again with the legendary J.J. Cohn Vineyard in Rutherford, a site that includes a block of old vines planted in 1945, which certainly must make them some of the oldest Cabernet vines in all of Napa Valley. There are 2,000 cases of the 2014 Monsieur Etain, which is a great enough Cabernet by itself. Wonderfully pure crème de cassis notes with some white flowers, lead pencil shavings and incense are followed by a deep, full-bodied wine with silky tannins, a layered, multi-dimensional mouthfeel and a beautiful finish of 40+ seconds. This is an exquisite, dense, rich but sexy Cabernet Sauvignon. And now for the good news -- there are 2,000 cases of it. Drink it over the next 20 or more years. (RP)" (12/2016)

2007 Rubissow "Reserve" Mount Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2007 Rubissow "Reserve" Mount Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon (90WE). Wine Enthusiast: "*Cellar Selection* At the age of more than four years, this 100% Cabernet remains an immature clash of fruit, oak and tannins. Everything sticks out, especially the massive blackberry and cassis flavors. The oak is sweet and butterscotchy on the finish. With a superb structure, it seems like an ideal cellar candidate, except for a touch of bitter raisin in the finish. Hard to predict its future. Try in 2015." (05/2012)

1996 Arrowood "Réserve Spéciale" Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 1996 Arrowood "Réserve Spéciale" Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon (90RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1996 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve Speciale is outstanding. Aged completely in French oak, this dense, chocolatey, black currant-scented wine possesses abundant spice, richness, power, and intensity. Still youthful, but muscular and impressively-endowed, this full-bodied Cabernet requires 2-3 years of cellaring, and should keep for two decades or more." (01/2000)

1999 Dominus Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this bottle of 1999 Dominus Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (91ST, 91WE). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Medium red-ruby. Spicy red- and blackcurrant, plum, currant leaf and mocha on the claret-like nose. Dense and rich, with spicy red berry and lightly floral flavors nicely framed by harmonious acidity. Today one senses the wine's 13% Cabernet Franc component. Quite tightly coiled today; shows little sign of the roasted character shown by some '99s. Firmly tannic and very strong on the back end, with an almost medicinal austerity; very much a wine from small berries. This really needs at least seven or eight years of bottle aging; make sure to decant your bottle if you can't wait to pull the cork. Should ultimately merit a higher rating. 91+ (ST)" (06/2002)

2002 Duckhorn Napa Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum lot of 2002 Duckhorn Napa Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (91CG, 90W&S). Connoisseurs Guide: "Very much adhering to the fully extracted style we have come to expect from Duckhorn, this outgoing bottling sports very well-concentrated black cherry and curranty fruit scents as well as a full range of loamy, caramelly, creamy and somewhat juicy notes. It is full on the palate and a bit brusque in tannin while never losing sight of central fruit and, while it will not disappoint when partnered with a hunk of roasted meat, it needs a bit of bottle age to lose its tougher aspects." 1997 Pavillon Rouge, Margaux
Bid on this bottle of 1997 Pavillon Rouge, Margaux. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "As I have noted previously, Chateau Margaux's second wine, Pavillon du Chateau Margaux, has come of age over recent vintages. The 1997, a 40% Merlot/60% Cabernet Sauvignon blend, is a slightly herbal, up-front, lushly-styled wine with plenty of pure fruit, medium body, and no harshness or aggressiveness in the finish." I’ve enjoyed many bottles of this spectacular effort, which still possesses a dense ruby/purple color as well as a sumptuous nose of spring flowers, graphite, loamy soil, creme de cassis, black cherries and blackberries. With sweet tannin, a full-bodied mouthfeel and incredible purity as well as youthfulness, this wine has another 15-20 years of life left in it.
