Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1982 Léoville-Las Cases, St-Julien (95RP, 95ST, 95WS). Wine Spectator: "A racy, classy, silky wine. Inky-ruby color. Black cherry, mineral and wet earth aromas. Medium-bodied, with very silky tannins and a long, superfine finish. Has always been excellent. (JS)" (11/1998)

1982 Pichon-Lalande, Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 1982 Pichon-Lalande, Pauillac (100RP, 98WS, 95ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the monumental wines of the last century is the 1982 Pichon Lalande. Since bottling, it has flirted with perfection, and was a sprinter out of the gate, which gave rise to questions about how quickly it would begin its decline. However, at age 27, it retains all its glossy, rich, flamboyant cassis fruit, chocolaty, berry jam-like notes, and plenty of earthy, foresty flavors. This is a full-bodied, extravagantly rich Pichon Lalande seemingly devoid of acidity and tannin, but the wine is incredibly well-balanced and pure. It is an amazing effort! (RP)" (06/2009)

1982 Margaux, Margaux
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1982 Margaux, Margaux (97JS, 97RP, 97VN, 92WS, 90ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1982 Chateau Margaux is a wine that I have tasted many times, constantly contrasted against the 1983 to see which is better. Frankly I found that it depends on the bottle, although maybe the 1983 edges it. But it is important to assess the 1982 on its own individual merits because it is a superb First Growth. This was a great bottle: fragrant and beautifully defined on the nose that on this occasion offered a more conspicuous graphite scent, which lent it a Pauillac-like personality. Allowing the wine to open and aerate, the traits one associates with the property emerge—wilted violets and rose petals. The palate is medium-bodied, fresh and mineral-laden, that suggestion of candied orange peel on the entry segueing into layers of pure red and black fruit. There is always something effortless about this Chateau Margaux and the pixelation on the finish is up there with th

1982 La Fleur-Petrus, Pomerol
Bid on this bottle of 1982 La Fleur-Petrus, Pomerol (96WS). Wine Spectator: "A massive wine, traditional in style but amazing. Like a great '47. Inky in color, with an amber edge. Extremely ripe, with mineral, berry, cherry, meat and pepper. Big and burly, with full velvety tannins. Still needs time." (11/1998)

1982 Latour, Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 1982 Latour, Pauillac (100RP, 100VN, 98JS, 98WS, 97ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Always somewhat atypical, the 1982 Latour has been the most opulent, flamboyant, and precocious of the northern Medocs, especially the St.-Juliens, Pauillacs, and St.-Estephes. It hasn't changed much over the last 10-15 years, revealing sweet tannins as well as extraordinarily decadent, even extravagant levels of fruit, glycerin, and body. It is an amazing wine, and on several occasions, I have actually picked it as a right bank Pomerol because of the lushness and succulence of the cedary, blackberry, black currant fruit. This vintage has always tasted great, even in its youth, and revealed a precociousness that one does not associate with this Chateau. However, the 1982 is still evolving at a glacial pace. The concentration remains remarkable, and the wine is a full-bodied, exuberant, rich, classic Pauillac in its aromatic and flavor profiles ... (RP)" (06/2009)

1982 Branaire-Ducru, St-Julien
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1982 Branaire-Ducru, St-Julien (95VN, 93RP). Vinous: "Bright, amber-tinged red. Knockout aromas of ripe red cherry, cassis, milk chocolate and sweet spices. Rich and dense, with fleshy, fully ripe red and black fruit flavors that linger impressively. Big, ripe, sweet, creamy wine; almost opulent, but without any undue weight or overripe aromas or flavors. This has always been one of my favorite Branaire-Ducrus: really great stuff! Bid on this bottle of 1982 Georges Mugneret Nuits-St-Georges 1er Cru "Les Chaignots". Georges Mugneret purchased his parcel of Chaignots in 1971. The terroir is pebbly soil with very little clay and an eastern exposure. On the side of the village closer to Vosne Romanée, the domaine sees some Vosne character in their wines from this cru.
