1982 Lafleur, Pomerol
Bid on this bottle of 1982 Lafleur, Pomerol (100JS, 100RP, 99WS, 98ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1982 Lafleur, at least for my palate, while qualitatively no better than Mouton Rothschild, Latour, and La Mission Haut Brion, is off the charts in terms of the hedonistic and intellectual pleasure it gives me. I have only a few bottles remaining in my cellar, and this 1982 is still a young wine. The extraordinary intensity and purity of the kirsch liqueur and licorice, the remarkable opulence, the thickness and richness, yet the ability to seem fresh with laser-like precision are all things that must be tasted to be believed. This wine is showing a little bricking at the edge, but has off the chart concentration as well as a viscous texture and unreal purity and fruit. It is as close to some of the legendary 1947s that were produced in Pomerol as anything made in the last thirty years. This is a remarkable wine! Anticipated maturity: now-2030. (RP)" (06/2009)

1982 Ausone, St-Emilion
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1982 Ausone, St-Emilion (94ST, 93WS, 90RP). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "The bottle in the blind flight showed rather autumnal aromas and an element of old wood on the nose; modest volume and sweetness; and some unabsorbed acidity on the back end. Second bottle: Full healthy red with a hint of amber. Cool, laid-back aromas of cherry, minerals and menthol. Dense with extract but extremely dry, even tough. The tannins seem astringent for the vintage. I rated this bottle 89(+?). With my third bottle I finally hit the jackpot: Much fresher, more minerally aromas show superb purity and clarity. Then very youthfully unevolved in the mouth, with vibrant dark fruit and mineral flavors. Finishes impressively long, with firm tannins that avoid dryness. Drink 2010 through 2030." (08/2002)

1982 Figeac, St-Emilion
Bid on this bottle of 1982 Figeac, St-Emilion (94JG, 94JS, 93WS, 92ST). James Suckling: "This is a wine that has been maligned over the years by a number of critics but I could never understand why. Perhaps there is a some bottle inconsistency? I drank a bottle last week in Shanghai at Fook Lam Moon restaurant with some friends and my girlfriend and it was wonderful, with dark chocolate, mushrooms and black truffle character that turned to dried fruits such as light prunes. It's full-bodied with amazing decadent fruit and a dense palate. Soft textured, long and delicious. So rich and gorgeous. Drink or hold. It was excellent with the roasted chicken done in a Peking duck style." (06/2016)

Of the 2004 Produttori del Barbaresco Barbaresco,John Gilman writes: "The 2004 blended Barbaresco from the Produttori is another classic example of this lovely wine in a top-notch vintage. The bouquet is deep, complex and jumps beautifully from the glass in a mélange of licorice, black cherries, a touch of plum, game, fresh oregano, woodsmoke, soil and a bit of camphor. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, deep and very pure, with classic balance, a lovely core, tangy acids and moderate tannins on the long, soil-driven finish that closes with great grip. 1982 Mouton-Rothschild, Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 1982 Mouton-Rothschild, Pauillac (100JS, 100RP, 98ST, 98WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This wine remains one of the legends of Bordeaux. It has thrown off the backward, youthful style that existed during its first 25 years of life, and over the last 4-5 years has developed such secondary nuances as cedar and spice box. The creme de cassis, underlying floral note, full-bodied power, extraordinary purity, multilayered texture, and finish of over a minute are a showcase for what this Chateau accomplished in 1982. The wine is still amazingly youthful, vibrant, and pure. It appears capable of remaining fruity and vibrant in 2082! Thank God it is beginning to budge, as I would like to drink most of my supply before I kick the bucket. This is a great, still youthful wine, and, on occasion, one does understand the hierarchy of Bordeaux chateaux when you see the complexity and brilliance of this first-growth. (RP)" (06/2009)

1982 L'Evangile, Pomerol
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1982 L'Evangile, Pomerol (98RP, 95ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A blockbuster, dark plum/garnet-colored wine, the 1982 L’Evangile reveals a decadent, extravagantly rich nose of caramelized fruit, plum, licorice, smoked meats, and toffee. This opulent, full-bodied Pomerol caresses the palate with layers and layers of glycerin and fruit. The tannin is barely noticeable in this massive, rich, gorgeous effort. The complexity of the nose alone is worth a special admission price. It is close to full maturity, and is capable of lasting another 20-25 years. (RP)" (06/2009)

1982 Gruaud-Larose, St-Julien
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1982 Gruaud-Larose, St-Julien (98RP, 96ST, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A massive wine that is clearly of first-growth quality in this vintage, the 1982 Gruaud Larose remains a youngster. A broodingly dense, thick, unctuously textured, inky/plum/garnet/purple color offers up scents of beef blood, steak tartare, cassis, herbs, tobacco, and underbrush. One of the most concentrated wines of the vintage (as well as one of the most concentrated Bordeaux’s I have ever tasted), it is a huge, full-bodied, weighty, rich wine whose tannins are getting silkier and silkier. It appears set for another 30-40 years of life. This behemoth is a singularly profound example of Gruaud Larose that continues to justify its legendary status. Anticipated maturity: now-2050. 1982 Calon-Ségur, St-Estèphe
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1982 Calon-Ségur, St-Estèphe (93ST, 90RP). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good medium red, with a hint of amber at the rim. Very aromatic, inviting nose of redcurrant, leather and tobacco. Intensely flavored and gripping, with a slightly raisiny singed plum character but also solid framing acidity that gives the wine a juicy quality. Quite fat and full. Finishes with superb structure and grip." (08/2002)

1982 Latour, Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 1982 Latour, Pauillac (100RP, 100VN, 98JS, 98WS, 97ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Always somewhat atypical, the 1982 Latour has been the most opulent, flamboyant, and precocious of the northern Medocs, especially the St.-Juliens, Pauillacs, and St.-Estephes. It hasn't changed much over the last 10-15 years, revealing sweet tannins as well as extraordinarily decadent, even extravagant levels of fruit, glycerin, and body. It is an amazing wine, and on several occasions, I have actually picked it as a right bank Pomerol because of the lushness and succulence of the cedary, blackberry, black currant fruit. This vintage has always tasted great, even in its youth, and revealed a precociousness that one does not associate with this Chateau. However, the 1982 is still evolving at a glacial pace. The concentration remains remarkable, and the wine is a full-bodied, exuberant, rich, classic Pauillac in its aromatic and flavor profiles...This remarkable effort will last

1982 Pichon-Lalande, Pauillac
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1982 Pichon-Lalande, Pauillac (100RP, 98WS, 95ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the monumental wines of the last century is the 1982 Pichon Lalande. Since bottling, it has flirted with perfection, and was a sprinter out of the gate, which gave rise to questions about how quickly it would begin its decline. However, at age 27, it retains all its glossy, rich, flamboyant cassis fruit, chocolaty, berry jam-like notes, and plenty of earthy, foresty flavors. This is a full-bodied, extravagantly rich Pichon Lalande seemingly devoid of acidity and tannin, but the wine is incredibly well-balanced and pure. It is an amazing effort! (RP)" (06/2009)
