1982 Taittinger Collection "Andre Masson" Brut Champagne (OCB)
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1982 Taittinger Collection "Andre Masson" Brut Champagne (OCB - 94WS) in original wood. Wine Spectator: "A mature wine, with impressive depth, offering plenty of toasty, spicy notes around a core of pear and hazelnut flavors that keeps unfolding through the long finish. Despite all the flavor intensity, it has delicacy and creamy smoothness. " (05/1992)

1982 Pichon-Lalande, Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 1982 Pichon-Lalande, Pauillac (98RP, 98WS, 95ST). Wine Spectator: "This unfurls with amazing grace, as refined tannins let the warmed cassis, macerated plum, pain d'épices, melted licorice, roasted alder and smoldering tobacco notes drape together and hang endlessly on the finish. A stunner that has been stuck at at this sublime point for a while, with no signs of moving any time soon. Thoroughly sublime and still the modern-era high-water mark for these wines.--Non-blind Pichon Lalande vertical (July 2014). Drink now through 2030. (JM, Web-2014)"

1982 Ducru-Beaucaillou, St-Julien
Bid on this bottle of 1982 Ducru-Beaucaillou, St-Julien (96RP, 93JS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1982 is still 5-8 years away from full maturity, but it exhibits a dense ruby/plum/garnet color to the rim as well as a sweet perfume of forest floor, spice box, cedar, and copious quantities of black fruits. Medium to full-bodied and beautifully pure with sweet tannins, this wine has aged more slowly than I initially expected. It is the finest Ducru Beaucaillou produced after the 1961 and before the 2003. (RP)" (06/2009)

1982 Grand-Puy-Lacoste, Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 1982 Grand-Puy-Lacoste, Pauillac (96RP, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This is a tour de force, and one of the all-time great Grand-Puy-Lacostes ever produced, as I hope the 2000 and 2005 will become. This is an inky/purple, beefy, broad, super-rich Pauillac revealing classic creme de cassis notes intermixed with hints of spring flowers and crushed rocks. Full-bodied with sweet tannin, shocking concentration, and layers of fruit, this irresistible 1982 is still an adolescent in terms of its evolution. Anticipated maturity: now-2035. (RP)" (06/2009)

1982 Montrose, St-Estèphe
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1982 Montrose, St-Estèphe (96WS). Wine Spectator: "Intense aromas of kirsch, currant and spice follow through to a full-bodied palate, with round, velvety tannins and a long, long finish. This is complex, changing on the nose and palate. Layered and structured. Will improve for many years to come. (Web only - 2006)"

1982 Margaux, Margaux
Bid on this bottle of 1982 Margaux, Margaux (97JS, 97RP, 97VN, 96ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1982 Chateau Margaux is a wine that I have tasted many times, constantly contrasted against the 1983 to see which is better. Frankly I found that it depends on the bottle, although maybe the 1983 edges it. But it is important to assess the 1982 on its own individual merits because it is a superb First Growth. This was a great bottle: fragrant and beautifully defined on the nose that on this occasion offered a more conspicuous graphite scent, which lent it a Pauillac-like personality. Allowing the wine to open and aerate, the traits one associates with the property emerge—wilted violets and rose petals. The palate is medium-bodied, fresh and mineral-laden, that suggestion of candied orange peel on the entry segueing into layers of pure red and black fruit. There is always something effortless about this Chateau Margaux and the pixelation on the finish is up there with the very best.

1982 Mouton-Rothschild, Pauillac
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1982 Mouton-Rothschild, Pauillac (100JS, 100RP, 98ST, 98WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This wine remains one of the legends of Bordeaux. It has thrown off the backward, youthful style that existed during its first 25 years of life, and over the last 4-5 years has developed such secondary nuances as cedar and spice box. The creme de cassis, underlying floral note, full-bodied power, extraordinary purity, multilayered texture, and finish of over a minute are a showcase for what this Chateau accomplished in 1982. The wine is still amazingly youthful, vibrant, and pure. It appears capable of remaining fruity and vibrant in 2082! Thank God it is beginning to budge, as I would like to drink most of my supply before I kick the bucket. This is a great, still youthful wine, and, on occasion, one does understand the hierarchy of Bordeaux chateaux when you see the complexity and brilliance of this first-growth. (RP)" (06/2009)
