1970 Fonseca Vintage Port
Bid on this bottle of 1970 Fonseca Vintage Port (96WS, 95RP). Wine Spectator: "Some people may enjoy this wine's rather fat, rich and powerful fruit now, but I still find it too young for drinking. Deeply colored, with smoky mint, tar and fruit aromas, full-bodied, with concentrated fruit flavors and plenty of tannins. (Web-1989)"

1994 Romariz Vintage Port
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 1994 Romariz Vintage Port in original wood. The Port firm was established in 1850 by Manoel de Rocha Romariz, who came from a well known Oporto family. Initially, the business was established with Portugal's main trading partners, Brazil and England. It was purchased by Fonsecca in 1966 and used as a grape source since they own two beautiful quintas in prime locations of the Douro. In 1987 a partnership of Fonsecca, Taylor and Romariz was established. The viticulturists for Fonsecca grow the grapes and Taylor vinifies and bottles the wines.

1994 Fonseca Vintage Port
Bid on this bottle of 1994 Fonseca Vintage Port (100WS, 97RP). Wine Spectator: "(1997 Wine of the Year & Cellar Selection) Hold on to your hat. This is the best Fonseca since 1977, and it's probably even better than that classic vintage--more like the breathtaking 1948. Mind-blowing, with masses of color, aroma and fruit flavor. Smells like fermenting berries, boasting loads of crushed grape, violet and berry character. Big, full-bodied and very sweet, with tons of tannins and a sweet finish. Tannic and huge, it's a long-term, great Port. " (04/1997)

1997 Romariz Vintage Port (375ml)
Bid on this 6-half-bottle lot of 1997 Romariz Vintage Port (375ml) (92RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "An exceptional vintage port, this saturated purple/black-colored effort offers up sweet, jammy notes of blackberries, licorice, and spice. Full-bodied, rich, and moderately sweet, with huge amounts of glycerin, ripeness, and well-integrated tannin, this blockbuster port can be drunk young, but should evolve nicely for 15-20 years. A sleeper as well as an excellent value. (RP)" (01/2000)

1985 Fonseca Vintage Port
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1985 Fonseca Vintage Port (96DC, 93RP, 93WS). Decanter: "A troublesome vintage for many shippers, but Fonseca 1985 never fails to impress: tight-knit, dense and minty with a core of concentration and pure berry fruit. Succulent, wonderfully fresh and vibrant at 30 years old. Peacock’s tail of a finish. A real ‘wow’ of a wine that promises to last a lifetime. (RM)" (11/2015)

2000 & 2003 Vintage Port Tasting Lot
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2000 & 2003 Vintage Port Tasting Lot, including 1-bottle of 2000 Warre's Vintage Port (91RP, 91ST, 91WS) and 2-bottles of 2003 Fonseca Vintage Port (97ST, 97WE, 96WS, 92RP). Of the 2003 Fonseca Vintage Port,Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar writes: "Saturated deep ruby. Brooding, reticent nose of cassis and kirsch; there's nothing cooked about this one! Then massive, sweet and superrich in the mouth; explodes with exotic ripeness. Intriguing note of graphite. This coats every nook and cranny of the palate and clings and builds on the back end in a way that no other wine of this vintage can match. Huge, sexy and wonderfully lush Fonseca, built for the long haul. As impressive as the best 2000s, and, along with the Quinta do Noval Nacional, is an early candidate for port of the 2003 vintage.
