2001 Talbot, St-Julien
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2001 Talbot, St-Julien (94WE, 90WS). Wine Enthusiast: "There is a great link here between the tannins, delicious red berry fruits and blackcurrants and the almost architectural structure. The wine certainly has fine fruit, a great balance, very complete, finishing gently, ripe and soft. (RV)" (12/2007)

Full-bodied, thick and powerful with amazing richness and spiciness. It goes on and on and on. This concentration is phenomenal. Yet it's lively and spicy. Huge finish. Best after 2012. " (09/2004)

2001 Dunn Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2001 Dunn Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon (95RP, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "More seriously endowed, powerful and still broodingly backward, but loaded with upside potential, the 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain reveals gorgeous blueberry liqueur, crushed rock and blackberry liqueur characteristics. This big, mountain-styled 2001 exhibits lots of structure, tannin, density and powerful flavors. Still youthful, vibrant and masculine, it needs 4-5 more years of cellaring and should last for 25-30+ years thereafter. (RP)" (06/2011)

Bid on this bottle of 2001 Domaine Robert Chevillon Nuits-St-Georges 1er Cru "Les Saint Georges" (91BH, 91RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Mocha, coffee, cherries, as well as blackberries are discerned in the nose and flavor profile of the medium to dark ruby-colored 2001 Nuits-St.-Georges Les Saint-Georges. Medium-bodied and well-balanced, it broadens on the attack, revealing a satin-textured character, before tightening in the back-end. This is an impressively endowed 2001 that will ultimately merit an outstanding score...(PR)" (06/2003)

2001 Ridge Vineyards "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 2001 Ridge Vineyards "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (99RP, 98VN, 97WE, 95W&S, 95WS, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A resoundingly great effort from this iconic producer, Ridge’s 2001 is a spectacular, still young but promising wine. Interestingly, 60% of the production from the winery’s 108 acre Monte Bello Vineyard made it into the 2001’s final blend (their 40th anniversary, by the way). The unusual blend is 56% Cabernet Sauvignon, a whopping 36% Merlot, and 8% Petit Verdot. It also carries 14.2% alcohol, which is high for this estate. On the back label, the conservative Paul Draper writes that “5-8 years of bottle age will bring generous rewards, and 20 years will bring full maturity.” At age 10, it is still an infant in terms of development, and I would not be surprised to see this 2001 last 40 years. A dense ruby/purple color is accompanied by extravagant, generous aromas of pen ink, lead pencil shavings, spice box and bla

2001 Bryant Family Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2001 Bryant Family Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (91WS, 90RP). Wine Spectator: "Undeniably ripe and fleshy, with a pretty scent of cedary oak leading to a supple core of currant and red cherry flavors that are fine and persistent on the finish. Needs time to shed its fine-grained tannins. The flavors are long and persistent on the finish, though it shows simpler than it did from barrel. Drink now through 2012." (09/2004)

2001 Domaine Taupenot-Merme Mazoyères-Chambertin Grand Cru
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2001 Domaine Taupenot-Merme Mazoyères-Chambertin Grand Cru (90BH). Allen Meadows - Burghound: " Very deep ruby with hints of blue and black. Decidedly earthier and more concentrated spicy dark fruit aromas lead to complex, backward and tight full-bodied flavors that display prominent finishing tannins. This is particular in style as there is an emphasis on extraction but it's pretty and well made just the same." (01/2004)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2001 Domaine Méo-Camuzet Corton Grand Cru "Clos Rognet" (92BH). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Remarkably open and approachable for young Corton with very ripe sweet fruit notes of cherry and blackberry and authoritative, tautly muscular flavors underpinned by buried tannins that are revealed only on the long, intense, concentrated finish. The finishing complexity is outstanding and the firm tannins suggest that this should enjoy a long life." (01/2004)

Of the 2001 d'Arenberg "The Dead Arm" Shiraz McLaren Vale South Australia,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "Readers should be on the look out for the 2001 The Dead Arm Shiraz, one of the greatest examples of this cuvee. Its dense, black/purple color is accompanied by celestial aromas of melted licorice, graphite, blackberries, cassis, incense, anise, and toasty oak. Fabulously concentrated, with great purity, an unctuous, viscous texture, and an amazingly long, 60-second plus finish, this fabulous baby will need 5-6 years of cellaring, and should drink well over the following 20-25 years." 2001 Abreu "Thorevilos" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2001 Abreu "Thorevilos" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (100RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2001 Thorevilos is another example of what may well be Napa Valley’s version of Ausone, and one of the single greatest vineyard sites in California. One could say this is world-class, but it’s really all-universe. A tour de force in winemaking, with notes of blueberry liqueur intermixed with subtle white chocolate, espresso roast, cassis, blackberry and perfumed, floral notes, it is full-bodied, with great flavor purity, a skyscraper-like texture, and a remarkable finish, with a seamless integration of all component parts. This is extraordinary wine that everyone who loves wine should at least taste once or twice in their lifetime. Both of these wines are adolescents, and probably won’t peak for another 5-8 years and keep for 30-40. (RP)" (06/2011)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2001 Ridge Vineyards "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon (99RP, 98VN, 97WE, 95WS, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A resoundingly great effort from this iconic producer, Ridge's 2001 is a spectacular, still young but promising wine... A dense ruby/purple color is accompanied by extravagant, generous aromas of pen ink, lead pencil shavings, spice box and black fruits. The wine is full-bodied and silky textured, but secondary nuances have not yet begun to develop as it is still very primary, tasting more like a 3-4 year old Monte Bello than one that is ten years of age. Nevertheless, it reveals spectacular concentration, a voluptuous texture, a rare opulence for a Ridge Monte Bello, and an incredible finish. The upside is enormous and this cuvee may prove somewhat atypical due to the huge percentage of Merlot in the final blend and the higher than normal alcohol. (RP)" (06/2011)

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2001 Domaine des Remizières "Cuvée Emilie" Hermitage ((90-93RP), 92ST, 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2001 Hermitage Cuvee Emilie is similarly-styled to the 2000, although slightly more delineated, leaner, structured, and ageworthy. Its dense, saturated blue/purple color is accompanied by aromas of melted licorice, blackberry liqueur, asphalt, and roasted espresso. This rich, full-bodied, dense, chewy Hermitage will drink well for 10-15 years, possibly longer. (RP)" (06/2003)

2001 Bond "Vecina" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2001 Bond "Vecina" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (96RP, 96WE, 95VN, 94WS, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The most backward, earthy, muscular/masculine wine of the group is the 2001 Vecina. Still quite tightly knit, with loads of rugged tannins as well as distinctive notes of graphite and earth reminiscent of a St.-Estephe such as Chateau Montrose, the wine displays sweet, earthy blueberry and blackberry fruit, but then the tannins kick in. This full-bodied, massive wine needs a good 5-7 years of cellaring at the minimum, and whether it ever approaches the seamless/flawless perfection of a St. Eden or Melbury remains to be seen.
