2000 Peter Michael "Belle Cote" Knights Valley Chardonnay
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2000 Peter Michael "Belle Cote" Knights Valley Chardonnay (90ST). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Slightly deeper color than the Carriere; faintly hazy. Complex, precise, perfumed aromas of flower blossom, citrus peel, lichee, licorice and white pepper, with riper hints of mandarin orange and tangerine. A step up in concentration and flavor complexity from the Carriere, with more texture and extract. Still quite youthfully firm-edged on the finish. (ST)" (06/2002)

2000 La Conseillante, Pomerol
Bid on this bottle of 2000 La Conseillante, Pomerol (96RP, 95WS, (90-93ST), 92JS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "La Conseillante made an excellent wine in 2001, another great one in 2005, and the estate hit home runs in both 2008 and, above all, in 2009. In fact, the latter vintage may well end up being the modern-day reference point for La Conseillante. Nevertheless, there’s a lot to be said for this 2000. An elegant, gentle style that is never a blockbuster, the 2000 La Conseillante has a deep ruby/plum/purple color and an unbelievably expressive nose of sweet kirsch liqueur intermixed with raspberries, incense, toast, and licorice. Full-bodied yet ethereal in the sense that it seems to combine power along with eloquence and delicacy, this is a beautifully pure wine that has just hit its plateau of full maturity, although ideally I think it would benefit strongly from another 4-5 years of bottle age and drink well for two to three decades. Super-ripe and sumptuous, highly concentrated, but has spice and vigour to counter the fruit. Massive, pungent; full of life and nuance. Long, vibrant finish. Drink from 2012. (19 points)" (11/2010)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2000 Lafite-Rothschild, Pauillac (100JS, 99WE, 98RP, 98WS, 96ST, 95W&S). James Suckling: "The nose is fresh, bright, and dense. With aromas of violets, minerals, spices, cool stones, mint, dark fruits, and plum skins, this is beautiful. Very much still a baby right now, it needs much more time. This is a wine for the next generation. Finesse and elegance, truly a wine that makes you contemplate life. This is not about power, there is really nothing like it. 93% Cabernet Sauvignon. Do not even think about touching this for another ten years, 2020. " (02/2011)

2000 Angélus, St-Emilion
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2000 Angélus, St-Emilion (99RP, 96WS, 95JS, 95W&S, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Approaching perfection, this wine is inky, bluish/purple-colored to the rim, offering up notes of incense, blueberry and blackberry liqueur, licorice, graphite and spring flowers. A touch of roasted espresso bean is also present. The wine has great concentration, a magnificent, full-bodied mouthfeel, stunning purity, and well-integrated acidity, tannin, alcohol and wood. This beauty seems to be in mid-adolescence with at least 25-30 years of life ahead. (RP)" (08/2015)

2000 La Mission Haut-Brion, Pessac-Léognan
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2000 La Mission Haut-Brion, Pessac-Léognan (100RP, 95JS, 95ST, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the wines of the vintage, the 2000 has barely budged in its evolution since it was bottled and released in 2002. After ten years in bottle, it still reveals a dense opaque purple color along with a potentially sensational bouquet of blueberries, black currants, graphite, asphalt and background oak. Extremely powerful, full-bodied and superbly concentrated with good acidity and high but round tannins, this massive La Mission-Haut-Brion should take its place among this estate’s most hallowed vintages when it hits full maturity in another one to two decades. I was surprised by just how youthful this wine tasted at age 12. If tasted blind, I would have guessed it to be around 4 to 5 years old. Anticipated maturity: 2020-2050. (RP)" (08/2012)

Bid on this 12-bottle lot of 2000 Lascombes, Margaux (OWC - 90RP) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The first of a succession of brilliant wines that have emerged from this previously moribund estate over the last decade, the fully mature 2000 Lascombes is an outstanding effort. Notes of cedarwood, roasted herbs, incense, black cherries, and currants emerge from this medium-bodied, evolved Margaux. (RP)" (06/2010)

The finish picks up a prominent charcoal edge, but this is warm and inviting overall. Like a cabin hideaway, this is pleasantly rustic. (Web-2016, JM)" (07/2003)

2000 Clos Fourtet, St-Emilion
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2000 Clos Fourtet, St-Emilion (93RP, 92WS, 90W&S). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The first offering in what turned out to be a remarkable decade for this property, the 2000 Clos Fourtet was the finest wine produced here in many years, but it was subsequently eclipsed by the 2003, 2005, 2008, and 2009. The dense plum/purple-tinged 2000 exhibits notes of wet rocks, camphor, blackberries, and cassis. Full-bodied with tremendous density, it appears to have shed much of its tannin, and is through its adolescent stage. It should continue to evolve effortlessly for another decade. (RP)" (06/2010)

Of the 2000 Calon-Ségur, St-Estèphe,Wine Spectator writes: " Lovely berry, spice and leather aromas follow through to a medium- to full-bodied palate, with firm and silky tannins and a long, caressing finish. Allen Meadows - Burghound: "In what is also rare for the 2000 vintage, there is strikingly pure Gevrey character and without the ultra ripe, roasted earth and torrefaction notes so many wines display. Structured, dense, intense and long with solid acid/fruit balance and ripe tannins that come up on the moderately long finish. A quality villages." (01/2003)

2000 Margaux, Margaux
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2000 Margaux, Margaux (100JS, 100RP, 98ST, 98W&S, 98WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Absolutely compelling in two tastings of this vintage, the 2000 Margaux is composed of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Merlot. The extraordinary seductiveness, complex aromatics, and purity it exhibits lead me to believe it has reached its window of full maturity. Medium-bodied, with layers of concentration, stunning blue, red, and black fruits intermixed with spring flowers, a subtle dosage of new oak, and a distinctive personality that is elegant while at the same time powerful and substantial, this is a multi-dimensional wine that was extremely approachable and drinkable in both tastings I had of it. The color remains a healthy, even opaque bluish/purple, but there is no reason to hesitate to drink it. It should evolve for another 30-40 years, so there is no hurry either. (RP)" (06/2010)

2000 Domaine Jean-Louis Chave Hermitage
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2000 Domaine Jean-Louis Chave Hermitage (96RP, 95WS, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "More forward, open and textured, the 2000 Hermitage is an almost promiscuous effort that’s just hard to resist. According to Jean-Louis, this wine has never shut down and has always delivered plenty of pleasure. It has classic cassis and blackberry fruit, bacon fat, violets and herbs to go with a full-bodied, layered and seamless, if not voluptuous, style on the palate. I’d line bottles up for drinking over the coming couple of years, but it should hold nicely for upward of a decade. (JD)" (08/2014)

2000 Clos des Papes Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 2000 Clos des Papes Châteauneuf-du-Pape (95RP, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2000 Chateauneuf du Pape reveals 14.6% alcohol, and is stylistically similar to the great 1990. The 2000 is open-knit and fat, with higher levels of glycerin as well as a more corpulent style than the structured, backward 2001. A deep ruby/purple color is followed by sweet, black cherry/kirsch liqueur-like notes presented in a voluptuous, full-throttle, intense style. It is already revealing such secondary nuances as pepper, garrigue, and truffles. Chewy, full-bodied, and moderately tannic, this cuvee is accessible, but not ready to drink. (JD)" (02/2003)

The wine has an inky, opaque, plum/purple color and a stunningly rich nose of mulberries, bramble berries, blackberries, licorice and incense as well as touches of toast and graphite. Fabulously concentrated and full-bodied, with a multidimensional mouthfeel, this profound Pavie is in mid-adolescence. It should evolve and continue to drink well for at least another 30-40 years. Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2000 Domaine de la Charbonniere "Les Hauts Brusquieres Cuvée Speciale" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (94RP, 90ST, 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Speciale Les Hautes Brusquieres, all from a single vineyard parcel planted high on the plateau of Chateauneuf du Pape, behind the village, is made from 100% destemmed Grenache (60%) and Syrah (40%). Malolactic fermentation occurs in both foudre and barrel, and more new oak is utilized. In contrast to the 2001, the 2000 Chateauneuf du Pape Les Hautes Brusquieres possesses a dense ruby/purple color and pungent, peppery, garrigue aromas intermixed with blackberry, raspberry, and cherry fruit characteristics. This full-bodied offering boasts layers of glycerin, sensational purity, and admirable ripeness. While it does not reveal the color saturation of the 2001, there is similar flavor intensity as well as body. (RP)" (02/2003)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Beginning to open magnificently, the still dense purple-colored 2000 reveals a blossoming bouquet of blackberries, cassis, graphite and pen ink. Full-bodied with velvety tannins that have resolved themselves beautifully over the last eleven years, this wine is still an adolescent, but it exhibits admirable purity, texture, mouthfeel and power combined with elegance. Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2000 Cheval Blanc, St-Emilion (99RP, 97WE, 94JS, 94ST, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Coming out of a relatively dormant state, this 2000 is a spectacular Cheval Blanc. Of recent vintages, I think only the 2009 can give it a run for its money. A blend of 53% Merlot and 47% Cabernet Franc, the wine has a sweet nose of menthol, melted licorice, boysenberry, blueberry, and cassis. A broad wine with compelling purity, a layered texture, and sweet tannin, with hints of coffee and earth in the background, this is by far the best Cheval Blanc since 1990 and before 2009. It is a legend in the making and can actually be drunk now, as the tannins have nearly melted away. This is a beauty with incredibly complex aromatics. Drink it over the next 25-30 years. Dense purple in color, with loads of coffee, mocha, creme de cassis, and chocolate notes, this is a somewhat unusual blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Merlot, and a whooping 10% Petit Verdot, with a little bit of Cabernet Franc. The Petit Verdot certainly gives the wine more of a tapenade, floral note, which I think can be interpreted by some as herbal. (RP)" (06/2010)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Year in and year out, one of the three greatest Hermitages made is Chapoutier’s Le Pavillon. The black/blue-colored 2000 Ermitage Le Pavillon is brilliant out of bottle. Notes of graphite, ink, licorice, creme de cassis, and minerals jump from the glass of this syrup of Hermitage. Quality like this was rare, if not impossible to obtain in 2000. From bottle, the wine is performing even better than it did from cask. The color is an opaque black/ruby/purple, and the amazing aromatic concoction includes notes of melted licorice, minerals, smoky toast, and blackberry as well as cassis liqueur. Full-bodied, thick, and juicy, it is a voluptuous effort to drink now and over the next 15-16 years.
