2007 Luciano Sandrone "Cannubi Boschis" Barolo
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2007 Luciano Sandrone "Cannubi Boschis" Barolo (97JS, 97RP, 96WE, 95ST, 94WS, 92W&S). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Barolo Cannubi Boschis dazzles from start to finish. It shows marvelous delineation and freshness in its voluptuous, harmonious fruit, with no hard edges and an expansive, textured personality that conquers both the palate and intellect. Here, too, the oak is very well integrated, while the wine's balance and overall sense of harmony are nothing short of stunning. This is one of the very finest vintages of Cannubi Boschis. Anticipated maturity: 2017-2032. Luciano Sandrone's wines have never been more elegant than they are today. The French oak is increasingly well balanced, and the at times excessive heaviness of some prior vintages is long gone. Simply put, Luciano Sandrone is at the top of his game...As for the 2007s, they are off the charts. (AG)" (02/2011)

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2006 Parusso Barolo "Le Coste-Mosconi" (95RP, 92WE, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Parusso’s 2006 Barolo Le Coste-Mosconi is simply superb. The late harvest in 2006 yielded a wine blessed with gorgeous, articulate aromatics, beautifully ripe fruit and finessed tannins, all of which add tons of class to what is essentially a full-throttle, fruit-driven Barolo. A vein of minerality runs through the wine from start to finish, adding a degree of freshness that is unusual for such a big Barolo. The textural richness and balance here are drop-dead gorgeous. Anticipated maturity: 2016-2031. (AG)" (02/2010)

This is an especially chiseled, finely sculpted, yet exotic Barolo endowed with extraordinary complexity and mouth-filling intensity in its ripe dark plums, mint, violets, sweet spices, soy, tar and minerals. In 2006, the Ciabot combines elegance and power to a degree that is exceedingly rare. It is another superb and truly special Barolo from Domenico Clerico. Anticipated maturity: 2016-2031. Sweet roses, spices, mint, flowers and red berries are some of the notes that emerge from this profound, utterly moving Barolo. The 2008 possesses dazzling inner perfume, endless layers of bright red fruit and stunning overall balance. Fine, silky tannins frame the extraordinarily elegant finish. This is a fabulous wine from Gianluca Grasso and his family. Chalky notes frame an energetic, brilliant finish sprinkled with shades of the 1989. Bid on this bottle of 2001 Paolo Scavino "Bric dël Fiasc" Barolo (96RP, 95WS, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2001 Barolo Bric del Fiasc is a gorgeous wine laced with smoke, tar, licorice and menthol. The 2001 remains powerful and authoritative, with more than enough fruit to balance its huge tannins. Today it comes across as almost impenetrably young. There is plenty of upside to cellaring this fabulous Barolo. (AG)" (04/2012)

This has amazing opulence, yet it's profound and structured. A fabulous wine. The best Sperss ever made. (JS)" (12/2007)

Of the 2006 Brovia "Rocche" Barolo,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "Usually rather open and expressive, in 2006 the Barolo Rocche has the makings of a long-distance runner. From time to time its perfumed red fruit makes an appearance yet this remains a powerful, inward Rocche in need of significant cellaring. There is plenty of muscle in the glass, in fact the wine continues to gain weight with air. Sweet roses and tar have the last word on the magnificent, perfumed finish. The Rocche has become marvelously expressive since I tasted it last year. (AG)" (12/2010)

2007 Antoniolo Osso San Grato Gattinara
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2007 Antoniolo Osso San Grato Gattinara (96RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Gattinara Osso San Grato is a thrilling Gattinara. It is one of the very best Gattinaras I have ever come across. The 2007 combines the freshness and drive of the San Francesco with the inner perfume, guile and pliancy of the Castelle. Expressive red cherries, flowers, rosemary, mint and minerals wrap around the silky, totally satisfying finish. Fond memories of the 1990 linger on my mind. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2027. 2007 Elio Altare Barolo
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2007 Elio Altare Barolo (94RP, 93WS, 92JS, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Barolo is simply breathtaking. A bouquet that recalls Pinot Noir melds into pure Nebbiolo fruit as this captivating, sensual Barolo reveals off its pedigree. This shows remarkable detail, nuance and sheer clarity, with gorgeous depth and a radiant, totally engaging personality. Most of the attention here is generally focused on the single-vineyard wines, but readers should not look past the straight Barolo, a wine that has built an extraordinary track record for developing beautifully in bottle. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Barolo Le Vigne presents a beguiling combination of explosive, ripe fruit and finessed silky tannins that make it a thrilling wine to taste, even at this stage in its development. Small red berries, minerals, crushed flowers, vanillin and sweet spices are woven together in a fabric of undescribable elegance. The French oak has never been better balanced, while the vibrant, crystalline finish leaves a lasting impression. The 2007 Le Vigne has all the potential to develop into a spectacular wine--actually, it already is. This is a totally stunning bottle of Barolo. (AG)" (02/2011)

2007 Castello di Neive "Santo Stefano" Barbaresco
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2007 Castello di Neive "Santo Stefano" Barbaresco (95RP, 94WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Barbaresco Albesani Santo Stefano shows the weight and richness that is typical of this south-facing site in Neive. A rich fabric of dark fruit, fresh roses, new leather and menthol completely cover the palate. The Santo Stefano is impeccable in its generous, enveloping fruit. The intensity and sheer depth of the fruit manages to virtually bury the tannins, but they are there. As delicious as this is today, it will be even better in a few years- time. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2027. Castello di Neive, one of the historic producers in Barbaresco, seems to fly under the radar, but the best of the wines are well worth discovering and offer terrific quality for the money. 2001 Rocche dei Manzoni "Vigna d'la Roul" Barolo
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2001 Rocche dei Manzoni "Vigna d'la Roul" Barolo (95RP, 92WS, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2001 Barolo Vigna d'la Roul is the most classic of these 2001 Barolos. It reveals phenomenal balance in its layers of dark cherries, violets, tar, new leather, sweet toasted oak and mentholated, balsamic overtones that develop in the glass. This massively structured, large-scaled Barolo reveals an unusual amount of detail for such a big wine. It will require considerable patience, but will offer much pleasure to those who can wait. Vigna d'la Roul is the oldest of the family's holdings and was the principal component of many of the estate's legendary wines, including the 1978 Valentino Riserva. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2026. 2007 Paolo Conterno "Ginestra" Barolo Riserva
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2007 Paolo Conterno "Ginestra" Barolo Riserva (96RP, 93VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Barolo Riserva Ginestra is born in extremely difficult conditions. Fruit is sourced from a hillside plot with impossibly steep inclines and shallow soils (with white tufo and clay) for limited root penetration. These factors help curb the natural vigor of the grapevine and result in high quality fruit. This wine sees a long maceration period (up to 40 days) and almost six years of barrel aging in botte grande. The results are spectacular with rich floral and menthol aromas folded within the wine’s silky texture. This 2007 Riserva feels much younger than it really is. Drink: 2016-2035. (ML)" (06/2014)

Turns to Indian spices and cedar. Full-bodied, with an exquisite palate of utlraripe tannins that turn to velvet. Long, long finish. Cashmere. Great from barrel, great from bottle. This is the best Bric dël Fiasc ever. Best after 2010. *#4 of the Top 100 of 2004* (JS)" (07/2004)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2006 Giacomo Conterno "Monfortino" Barolo Riserva ((98-100RP), 98JS, 98VN, 98WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted from botte number 45, the 2006 Barolo Riserva Monfortino is gorgeous. Roberto tells me, 'Monfortino is not a drinking wine, it’s a chewing wine.' His comment makes perfect sense and offers incredible insight into the profound beauty beholden before us. You almost feel the crunch of the young tannin and the snap of its presence in the mouth. The bouquet is perfectly matched to the wine. Elegance and finesse add contrast to the wine’s sheer power and determination. Dried rose, licorice, tar, spice and tobacco show immense definition and focus. The 2006 vintage is noted for its extraordinary aging potential. Anticipated maturity: 2025-2045. (ML)" (06/2013)
