Bid on this magnum of 2009 Domaine du Vieux Telegraphe "La Crau" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (1.5L) (94WS, 93VN, 92RP). Wine Spectator: "This is crammed with fruit, spice and structure, as braised fig, plum skin, cassis and anise notes wrestle with roasted apple wood, melted red licorice and tar for now. The embedded grip should carry the finish until this assimilates fully. Best from 2014 through 2024. (JS)" (10/2011)

2001 Ridge Vineyards "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 2001 Ridge Vineyards "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (99RP, 98VN, 97WE, 95W&S, 95WS, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A resoundingly great effort from this iconic producer, Ridge’s 2001 is a spectacular, still young but promising wine. Interestingly, 60% of the production from the winery’s 108 acre Monte Bello Vineyard made it into the 2001’s final blend (their 40th anniversary, by the way). The unusual blend is 56% Cabernet Sauvignon, a whopping 36% Merlot, and 8% Petit Verdot. It also carries 14.2% alcohol, which is high for this estate. On the back label, the conservative Paul Draper writes that “5-8 years of bottle age will bring generous rewards, and 20 years will bring full maturity.” At age 10, it is still an infant in terms of development, and I would not be surprised to see this 2001 last 40 years. A dense ruby/purple color is accompanied by extravagant, generous aromas of pen ink, lead pencil shavings, spice box and bla

Bid on this magnum of 2012 Levy & McClellan Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (OWC - 98RP, 97VN, 92ST) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon has lived up to the early optimism it enjoyed from barrel. A broodingly backward, mountain-styled Cabernet Sauvignon, its level of concentration and formidable mass is admirable. It boasts an inky/purple color along with notes of crème de cassis, blackberries, subtle barbecue smoke and graphite. Full-bodied with sweet tannin and the vintage hallmarks of lusciousness, extravagant richness and depth without being heavy or tiring, this fabulous effort is one of the more drinkable wines from Levy & McClellan to date. It should last for 25-30 years. This is the brainchild of two of Napa Valley’s most well-known winemaking gurus, Martha McClellan (her résumé is impeccable) and her husband, Bob Levy (the main man at Harlan Estate, Bond and Promontory). Bid on this magnum of 1997 Joseph Phelps "Insignia" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (1.5L) (100RP, 97WS, 95WE, 94ST, 93W&S). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "An inky/plum/purple color is accompanied by a stunning bouquet of violets, charcoal, creme de cassis and a hint of toast. Prodigious when it hits the palate with a full-bodied expansiveness, there is not a hard edge to be found in the 1997, only velvety tannins, compelling depth and fruit intensity, and stunning purity. It is a perfect expression of Napa viticulture and wine that should continue to age effortlessly for two decades or more. (RP)" (11/2013)

Bid on this magnum of 2011 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (96RP, 95AG, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "More serious, and one of the wines of the vintage, the 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon (100% Cabernet Sauvignon) has uncommon concentration and depth in the vintage, as well as a broad, structured profile that will allow it to age gracefully. Loaded with sweet creme de cassis, exotic spice, licorice and graphite, it’s a full-bodied, elegant and classically styled effort that has nothing out of place, fine, building tannin and a rock star finish. It will be approachable at an earlier stage than most vintages, yet still have two decades of longevity. (JD)" (06/2014)

Bid on this magnum of 2007 Saxum "Bone Rock - James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (1.5L) (99RP, 98WS, 96ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Bone Rock, which comes from the James Berry Vineyard (82% Syrah, 13% Mourvedre, and the rest Grenache, also aged 28 months in a combination of smaller barrels, demi-muids, and pungeons), is super as well. Like its late-released sibling, it has an inky/purple color to the rim and an extraordinary, soaring set of aromatics consisting of spring flowers, pepper, graphite, blackberry and blueberry fruit with hints of raspberry and licorice and jus de viande as well. The extraordinary freshness and elegance of this wine leads to a minerality that even eclipses the Heart Stone. The finish goes on for a good 45+ seconds, and the purity is awesome. This extraordinary wine completes the 2007 portfolio of unbelievable efforts from the Smiths. (RP)" (08/2010)

Wine Enthusiast: " *Cellar Selection* Hews to the Hanzell style, which is almost old-fashioned in this age of ripely opulent Pinot Noirs. This one's tight as a drum in tannins and acids, a quivery, nervously wound wine. Knockout nose combines raspberry, crushed stone, spicy oak, minerals and leather. Wonderfully tangy and delineated but at the same time seamless, with superb energy and concentration to its raspberry and spice flavors. Finishes very long and scented, with substantial fine tannins. A wine of great finesse: this would provide fodder for those who believe this vineyard is capable of performing at grand cru level. (ST)" (01/2011)

Bid on this 3-magnum lot of 2012 Henri Boillot Clos Vougeot Grand Cru (1.5L) (92BH, 92VN). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A restrained, even reticent nose only grudgingly gives up notes of plum, dark currant and plenty of earth character. There is a relatively refined mouth feel to the middle weight flavors as the supporting tannins are unusually fine-grained for the appellation, all wrapped in a supple and delicious finish. This is quite forward for a young Clos de Vougeot and displays almost no youthful austerity." (04/2014)

Bid on this magnum of 2009 Saxum "James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (1.5L) (98RP, 97JS, 97WS, 96VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Simply put, the 2009 James Berry Vineyard is one of the greatest young wines I have ever tasted from California, or anywhere for that matter. Bright, floral aromatics lead to expressive red fruit in this impossibly elegant, dazzling wine. A melange of rose petals, mint and licorice follows as the James Berry shows off its breathtaking clarity and finesse. Fine-grained, chalky tannins frame the exceptional finish. Frankly, I am surprised this is the first wine of the tasting. Where does one go from here? The 2009 James Berry is a bit of departure from previous vintages. This is the highest percentage of Grenache ever used in the blend, and a large portion of the Grenache was aged in concrete, an approach Smith has borrowed from producers in the Rhone. Originally Smith had intended to age less of the Grenache components in concrete, but the low

Musky aromas of peach, apricot and ginger; more soil-driven and less exotic than the village Puligny. Supple, silky and highly concentrated, offering extremely smooth flavors of stone fruits and flowers. An outstanding 2013 with a very long, pliant back end. Boillot describes this as "the best wine of the cave in 2013." Bid on this magnum of 2010 Saxum "Booker Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (1.5L) (98RP, 95VN, 94ST, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Syrah Booker Vineyard - a blend of 81% Syrah and 19% Mourvedre - is about as textbook a representation of a Paso Robles Syrah as I can think of. Locked and loaded with notions of ripe black and blue fruits, smoke, bouquet garni, espresso, and licorice, it is unabashedly full-bodied, rich, and yet elegant on the palate. Showing real class, as well as first-rate freshness, superb depth and concentration, and masses of tannin, this blockbuster Syrah needs a solid 3-4 years of bottle age to flesh out, and will keep for 15-20 years or more. A benchmark estate for California, Saxum, under the helm of superstar winemaker Justin Smith, continues to produce some of the most compelling, profound wines on the planet. While Smith’s wines are always full-flavored and intense, there has been a stylistic change over recent vintages, with the wines showin

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "I think what will be the greatest wine yet from this vineyard, Krankl's inky purple 2012 Cumulus Vineyard #6 should flirt with perfection once it's released. Made from 38% Syrah, 37% Grenache, 17.4% Petite Sirah and the balance Mourvedre, fermented with 36% whole clusters, it spent 33 months in 54% new French oak, and there's a scant 320 cases made. Lovely subtle perfume of cherry and raspberry liqueur lifted by a peppery element. Sweet, dense and lively but restrained on the palate, with distinctly dark flavors of blueberry, licorice and bitter chocolate. The brooding finish features broad, palate-coating tannins. An utterly vivid, breathtaking wine, the 2010 impresses for its incredible balance and overall sense of harmony. Flowers of all sorts, sage and rosemary develop in the glass, adding tons of complexity. Today the 2010 is a little reticent next to the decidedly more exuberant 2009, which is quite typical of wines from Pritchard Hill at this stage in the evolution of these vintages. Power, pure vibrancy and intensity are the hallmarks of the 2010. This is another stunning wine from the team at Ovid. I can’t wait to see how the 2010 develops in bottle. (AG)" (12/2012)

Bid on this magnum of 2012 Chimère (Sine Qua Non) Châteauneuf-du-Pape (1.5L) (99RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "We finished the tasting with the inky-purple 2012 Châteauneuf du Pape. A cellar selection by Manfred Krankl (of Sine Qua Non) of mostly Mourvedre, yet with a splash of Grenache and even some white varieties, it was aged in two new 300-liter French oak barrels before being bottled (in magnum only) unfined and unfiltered. It’s a massive, masculine and structured Chateauneuf du Pape that needs to be tasted to be believed. Cassis, creamy licorice, jammy blackberry and crushed flowers are only a few of the nuances here, and it hits the palate with full-bodied richness, incredible mid-palate depth and a blockbuster finish that just won’t quit. The level of concentration here surpasses just about every other wine in the vintage, and yet it never seems heavy, cumbersome or over-the-top. Give it 4-5 years and drink this spectacular effort over the following two decades. Hats off
