Bid on this magnum of 2005 Pride Mountain Sonoma-Napa Counties Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (OWC - 92RP, 92WE, 90ST) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The deep ruby/purple-colored 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon (58% from Napa and 42% from Sonoma) possesses a full-bodied mouthfeel as well as loads of cassis fruit, and smoky, subtle oak in the background. Round, plump, and hedonistic, it should drink well for a decade. (RP)" (12/2007)

2010 Bosquet des Papes "Chante le Merle Vieilles Vignes" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 2010 Bosquet des Papes "Chante le Merle Vieilles Vignes" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (1.5L) (99RP, 95ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Chateauneuf du Pape Chante Le Merle Vieilles Vignes is a blend of 85% Grenache and the rest equal parts Syrah and Mourvedre from the same parcels as the 2011. The wine is aged primarily in foudres with small percentages of the Syrah and Mourvedre kept in new 600-liter demi-muids. A spectacular effort, it displays a confit of camphor, blueberries, blackberries, black raspberries, lavender and other floral notes. This full-bodied, massive Chateauneuf du Pape is remarkably light on its feet despite what must be 15+% alcohol. Incredibly pure and remarkably intense, this is a tour de force from Nicolas Boiron. It should drink well for two decades. (RP)" (10/2012)

1994 Joseph Phelps "Insignia" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 1994 Joseph Phelps "Insignia" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (1.5L) (96RP, 95ST, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1994 Insignia (a blend of 88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot, and 2% Cabernet Franc) is spectacular. I have had the wine a half-dozen or more times, and it is unquestionably opulent, sexy, flamboyant, explosively rich, concentrated, and a thrill to drink. Already gorgeous, it promises to evolve gracefully for two decades or more. The color is a healthy saturated dark purple. The spicy nose offers aromas of black currants, allspice, pain grille, and soy, with scents of a burning wood fire thrown in for additional complexity. This full-bodied, opulent, dazzling wine is exhilarating to drink." (12/1998)

2013 Bryant Family Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 2013 Bryant Family Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (96JS, 96RP, 92VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The flagship wine, the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate, comes from a magnificent hillside vineyard overlooking Lake Hennessey (13 acres) and is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. This wine has an incredible track record, with some legendary efforts such as the 1995, 1997, and most recent vintages since 2005, as well as the 2013 all beauties. The classic purity of blueberry and blackberry fruit as well as white flowers and subtle background oak is followed by a full-bodied, voluptuously textured, multi-layered wine that is stunningly lush, with sweet, sweet tannin and beautiful purity and length. This excellent wine can be drunk early on or cellared for another 25 or more years. (RP)" (10/2015)

Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Here too there is a mild touch of reduction and if you're going to try a bottle young, I would strongly advise decanting it first. Otherwise, ripe orchard fruit, honeysuckle and fennel aromas complement perfectly the equally ripe and distinctly powerful broad-shouldered flavors brimming with dry extract on the tight and backward finish that is austere to the point of being strict. Of the 2002 Pride Mountain Sonoma County Cabernet Franc (1.5L),Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "I loved the penetrating aromatics and floral, blueberry, and menthol notes of the deep ruby/purple-colored 2002 Cabernet Franc. The blend is actually 75% Cabernet Franc and 25% Merlot. The flamboyant fragrance jumps from the glass of this sweetheart of a wine. There is tremendous concentration and intensity of flavor, yet the wine is light on its feet, with a surreal, ethereal flavor profile. Cabernet Franc can do some special things in California, and it is good to see this wine perform so well. Already drinkable, it should last for 10-15 years. (RP)" (02/2005)

It shows gorgeous mid-palate pliancy and depth through to the round, opulent finish. The Sarmassa has aged quite gracefully. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Impressive is the 1999 Shiraz Reserve, a 1,100-case cuvee aged 14 months in new American oak. The wine is a dense purple color, with a sweet, almost blackberry liqueur nose, and smoke, licorice, and oak in the background. Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Discreet if not invisible wood surrounds the complex but restrained red currant, spice, smoke, earth and sauvage permeated aromas. There is excellent power and plenty of punch to the broad-shouldered and solidly well-concentrated flavors that possess fine mid-palate concentration before culminating in a balanced and exceptionally persistent finish. This classically styled Corton really does a slow build from the mid-palate on back, though note well that it will be pointless to open this in its youth; in fact, don't buy this unless you intend to cellar it." There is excellent size, weight and concentration to the mineral-inflected large-scaled flavors that terminate in a chiseled finish of crystalline purity. Bid on this magnum of 2001 Pride Mountain "Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (98RP, 97WS, 94VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Remarkably, the 2001 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon may be even better. Staggeringly pure notes of creme de cassis, violets, licorice and graphite soar from the glass of this inky/purple-colored wine. Composed of 98% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Petit Verdot, and tasting like it is 2-3 years old, it is a stunningly pure, rich, full-bodied, prodigious example of high elevation mountain Cabernet Sauvignon that will not reach full maturity for another 5-7 years, and should age beautifully for another two decades or more. Bid on this magnum of 2013 Schrader "Old Sparky" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (OWC - 100RP, 98JS) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Old Sparky, which is essentially made from clone 4 from two separate blocks, clone 6 and clone 337, is another perfect wine from the Schraders. I suppose it’s a little boring to say, and perhaps I can be accused of creating unrealistic expectations on the part of readers, but this is as great as Cabernet can be. Tasting like a first-growth Pauillac, the wine is opaque purple and has a fabulous nose of lead pencil, spring flowers, blueberry and blackberry and the telltale cassis. There is also some licorice and sweet oak, the tannins are ripe, and the wine full-bodied. Built like a skyscraper, with an incredible finish (like most of these wines) going on for 50 seconds to a minute, this amazing wine should still be drinking splendidly well at age 25 or 30. Knockout nose combines dark berries, violet, bacon fat, smoke and pepper; I was reminded of a t opnotch Cote-Rotie. Lush and sweet but not quite as complex as the Chambertin and Clos de Beze. This offers extraordinary finesse and smoothness for Bonnes-Mares, with perfectly integrated acidity framing the flavors without introducing any edges to the wine. Finishes extremely long and sweet, with a subtle element of smoked meat. " (01/2011)

2011 Levy & McClellan Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (OWC)
Bid on this magnum of 2011 Levy & McClellan Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (OWC - (93-95ST), (90-93RP), 93VN) in original wood. Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright ruby-red. Black fruits, licorice and mocha on the nose. Dense, sweet and deep, showing compelling energy and early harmony to the dark fruit and floral flavors. At once primary and pliant owing to its layered texture. The rich, thoroughly ripe tannins dust the front teeth on the very long back end. Levy and McClellan ferment this wine entirely in barrel (most of it Taransaud oak) to build its middle palate and soften its naturally strong tannins. The wine is typically low in acidity due to the high level of potassium in this volcanic soil but this 2012 comes across as bright. Outstanding potential here. (ST)" (05/2014)

1998 Giacomo Conterno "Monfortino" Barolo Riserva (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 1998 Giacomo Conterno "Monfortino" Barolo Riserva (1.5L) (97RP, 96VN, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1998 Barolo Riserva Monfortino is a monumental effort. A deep dark red, it opens with a huge nose of licorice, roses and cocoa, then flows onto the palate with masses of sweet, concentrated dark fruit that go on forever. Notes of mineral and leather gradually develop in the glass, adding further complexity as this great wine begins to reveal its expansive and profound personality. The 1998 is unusually open right now. As was the case with the 1997 at this stage, it should offer a brief drinking window over the next 6 months or so before shutting down for what is likely to be an extended period prior to awakening in the glorious prime of its life.
