2009 Saxum "James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Saxum "James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (98RP, 97JS, 97RR, 97WS, 96ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Simply put, the 2009 James Berry Vineyard is one of the greatest young wines I have ever tasted from California, or anywhere for that matter. Bright, floral aromatics lead to expressive red fruit in this impossibly elegant, dazzling wine. A melange of rose petals, mint and licorice follows as the James Berry shows off its breathtaking clarity and finesse. Fine-grained, chalky tannins frame the exceptional finish. Frankly, I am surprised this is the first wine of the tasting. Where does one go from here? (AG)" (08/2011)

Bid on this 4-half-bottle lot of 1998 Château de Beaucastel Châteauneuf-du-Pape (375ml) (96WE, 95RR, 95WS, 93RP, 93ST). Wine Enthusiast: "A big, rich wine with huge amounts of fruit oozing out of the glass. Great concentration and intensity, with licorice flavors from the Mourvèdre, finishing with chewy tannins. A great year for this wine, which should age well for 15 to 20 years. " (12/2001)

Bid on this bottle of 2003 Domaine du Pégaü "Cuvée Reservée" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (99RR, 98RP, 97WS). Rhone Report: "Close to my 12th bottle of the 2003 Domaine du Pégaü Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée Réservée and this was one of the more tight and compact bottles. The aromas are dense and pure with stunning cassis and dark fruit intermixed with licorice, meat and leather notes. The palate is full bodied, amazingly tannic and structured with gorgeous fruit, texture and length. If I had to pick just one wine to drink, this would be it. Drink now-2028 (JebDunnuck.com)" (11/2008)

2005 Clos des Papes Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2005 Clos des Papes Châteauneuf-du-Pape (98WS, 97RR, 95ST, 94RP). Wine Spectator: "Really tight now, but packed with dark fig, currant, espresso, licorice and chocolate notes. Superfleshy but seriously structured, there's layer after layer of sweet spice, fruit and minerality pumping through the finish, with lots of latent depth and power. Far more backward than the 2003 or 2004 on release, but since this red typically puts on weight as it ages, it should be a monster--à la the 1990--when it reaches its peak. Best from 2009 through 2030. *#1 on Top 100 of 2007, Collectibles* (JM)" (12/2007)

2010 Domaine de la Janasse Châteauneuf-du-Pape Vieilles Vignes
Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 2010 Domaine de la Janasse Châteauneuf-du-Pape Vieilles Vignes (100RP, 96VN, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Chateauneuf du Pape Vieilles Vignes, which achieved 16% natural alcohol, possesses an inky/purple color. It is slightly tighter and more restrained than the 2010 Chaupin, but it has enormous volume as well as incredible glycerin, richness and fat. A huge bouquet of pure blackberry and black currant fruit intermixed with charcoal, incense, truffles and spring flowers is followed by a prodigious, full-bodied wine that is capable of 20+ years of evolution. I hope Chateauneuf du Pape enthusiasts can find some of this amazing wine! (RP)" (10/2012)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2010 Domaine de Saint Préfert "Collection Charles Giraud" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (100RP, 100RR, 99WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "An incredible wine that I thought was pure perfection on release, the 2010 Chateauneuf du Pape Collection Charles Giraud still stays at the top of my hierarchy today. The most masculine, powerful and concentrated of the trio, it possesses massive amounts of fruit to go with darker-styled fruits, pan drippings, charred steak and roasted herbs. It has everything you could want in a Southern Rhone. Give it another year or two and enjoy bottles through 2030. (JD)" (08/2014)

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2010 Château Sixtine (Cuvée du Vatican) Châteauneuf-du-Pape (96RP, 94WS, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Chateau Sixtine Chateauneuf du Pape performed exquisitely and, again, was one of the top wines of the vintage. With better integration of the new oak than I have previously seen from Jean-Marc Diffonty, this wine's opaque ruby/purple color possesses lots of licorice, asphalt, graphite, blackberry and kirsch notes as well as hints of lavender, forest floor and garrigue. This opulent, full-bodied effort is approachable, but it will not hit its full stride for another 2-4 years. It should drink well for 15-20 years thereafter ... (RP)" (10/2012)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2007 Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe "La Crau" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (96RP, 95WS, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Vieux Telegraphe may be the greatest wine made at this property since the 2005 and 1998. Dense ruby/purple-tinged with an exquisite nose of salty sea breezes, licorice, ground pepper, jammy black cherries, black currants, figs, and plums, this is a full-bodied, rich, Provencal-styled offering with lots of sweet, ripe tannin. It is surprisingly accessible for a Vieux Telegraphe (this wine normally shuts down several years after bottling), but it should have great longevity (25+ years) given its power, full-bodied mouthfeel, and enormous length and richness. This is a brilliant effort from brothers Frederic and Daniel Brunier. 96+ (RP)" (10/2009)

2013 Saxum "Booker Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhone Blend
Bid on this bottle of 2013 Saxum "Booker Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhone Blend (98RP, 97WS, 94VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Leading off the wines tasted from bottle, the 2013 Booker Vineyard is one of the prettier, more elegant and pure examples of this cuvee I can recall. A blend of 67% Syrah and the rest Mourvedre, fermented with 30% whole cluster, this total thrill ride offers sensational notes of creme de cassis, black raspberries, ground herbs and crushed flowers to go with a full-bodied, ultra-pure, silky and seamless style on the palate. This tannin quality is off the charts, but it needs short term cellaring to really show at its best. (JD)" (08/2016)

2006 Saxum "Broken Stones" Paso Robles Rhône Blend
Bid on this bottle of 2006 Saxum "Broken Stones" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (97RP, 96WS, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2006 Broken Stones (63% Syrah, 24% Grenache, and 13% Mourvedre) blew me away. An inky/purple color and a dazzling, explosive bouquet of black raspberries, camphor, cassis, forest floor, and spring flowers are followed by a rich, elegant wine offering laser-like precision as well as a striking minerality. It is a powerful yet graceful effort that should drink well for 10-12+ years. One of California’s super-star producers, Saxum owns one of the state’s most remarkable vineyard sites, the James Berry Vineyard, which has been broken into a number of different blocks, all planted on rocky limestone hillsides. This estate’s approach to winemaking is decidedly artisinal, with extraordinarily small yields as well as a minimalistic winemaking philosophy. (RP)" (08/2009)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2011 Domaine de la Vieille Julienne "Les Hauts Lieux" Chateauneuf-du-Pape (95RP, 93VN, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Coming from a higher elevation, cooler terroir and limestone soils, the 2011 Chateauneuf du Pape Les Hauts Lieux is a total rock star in the vintage and checks in as a blend of 60% Grenache, 20% Mourvedre and the balance Counoise and Cinsault, which was aged all in foudre. Harvested very late (and this estate normally harvests on the early side) and not wrapping up until October, it possesses gorgeous purity, with mineral-tinged aromas of blackberry, currants, licorice, ground herbs and violets all soaring from the glass. An all-around powerful, structured and rich 2011, with a full-bodied mouthfeel, terrific acidity and big tannin, it will be one of the longest-lived wines in the vintage. Give it 2-3 years in the cellar, and drink bottles through 2026. Drink 2017-2026. (JD) " (10/2013)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2011 Domaine la Barroche "Signature" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (91RP, 91VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Possessing a solid ruby color, the 2011 Chateauneuf du Pape Signature is a forward, supple and sweetly fruited beauty that has lots of incense, pepper, licorice and spice in a medium to full-bodied, rounded sexy style. It's another wine that won't get much better, but should actually hold nicely in the cellar given its overall balance. Still, no need to delay gratification here. (JD)" (09/2015)

2013 Saxum "James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2013 Saxum "James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (97RP, 96VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2013 James Berry Vineyard Proprietary Red is made from 45% Grenache, 29% Mourvedre, 18% Syrah and 8% Counoise (which Justin commented was a blend that was put together relatively late). It saw a big chunk of whole cluster (the Grenache was mostly destemmed though) and was brought up all in puncheons and foudre (the normal concrete component went to the Rocket Block). It offers up gorgeous notes of black raspberries, cherries, cassis, ground herbs and flowers. This beauty hits the palate with incredible purity, fine tannin and an overriding sense of elegance and finesse, backed up by full-bodied richness and depth. It needs to be forgotten for 3-4 years and it will drink beautifully through 2028. (JD)" (08/2016)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2006 Saxum "Bone Rock - James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Syrah (96RP, 95ST, 94WE, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "No wimpy wine, the 2006 Bone Rock James Berry Vineyard (76% Syrah, 18% Mourvedre, and 6% Grenache) has over 16% alcohol. It possesses phenomenal texture, stunning purity, and remarkable freshness, which, again, is attributable to the limestone soils as well as the proprietor’s brilliant hands-off winemaking philosophy. A complex perfume of roasted meats, black fruits, spring flowers, charcoal, and spice is followed by a wine of enormous richness (yet it is neither overweight nor heavy). Beautiful freshness permeates the wine’s black fruit flavors and full-bodied power and length. The finish lasts for nearly a minute. This 2006 should evolve for 12-15+ years." (08/2009)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2010 Paul Autard "La Côte Ronde" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (94RP, 93WS, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Châteanueuf de Pape Cuvée La Côte Ronde reveals a touch of toasty oak in the aromatics, but it is beautifully integrated with kirsch, roasted Provençal herb, espresso and black currant aromas. This full-throttle, masculine and rich wine possesses sweet tannins as well as good integration of structure and acidity.
