2010 Saxum "Broken Stones" Paso Robles Rhône Blend
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2010 Saxum "Broken Stones" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (96RP, 94ST, 93VN, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Even more perfumed and up-front aromatically, the 2010 Broken Stones is a brilliant effort. A multi-vineyard blend of 63% Syrah, 19% Mourvedre, 15% Grenache, and 3% Petite Sirah that was aged mostly in new French oak, it offers up a gorgeously pure array of black raspberry, charcoal, licorice, lavender, and assorted floral qualities on the nose. This flows to a full-bodied, deft, and elegant palate that has no hard edges, a weightless feel, and masses of fine, yet firm tannin on the finish. Give bottles another year or three, and then drink over the following 12-15 years. (JD)" (07/2014)

1983 Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe "La Crau" Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Bid on this bottle of 1983 Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe "La Crau" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (90RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the top successes for this property during a period of very good rather than outstanding winemaking, the 1983 is spicy, peppery, and earthy, with a fragrant, in-your-face aromatic profile. This full-bodied, corpulent, muscular Vieux-Telegraphe is one of the few wines made during the estate's high-tech period that displays some of the old, burly, thick character of pre-1979 vintages. Some amber/orange is creeping along the edge, but the wine reveals no loss of fruit. (RP)" (01/1997)

2000 Jean-Louis Chave Hermitage (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum lot of 2000 Jean-Louis Chave Hermitage (1.5L) (96RP, 95WS, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "More forward, open and textured, the 2000 Hermitage is an almost promiscuous effort that’s just hard to resist. According to Jean-Louis, this wine has never shut down and has always delivered plenty of pleasure. It has classic cassis and blackberry fruit, bacon fat, violets and herbs to go with a full-bodied, layered and seamless, if not voluptuous, style on the palate. I’d line bottles up for drinking over the coming couple of years, but it should hold nicely for upward of a decade. (JD)" (08/2014)

2007 Saxum "James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend
Bid on this bottle of 2007 Saxum "James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (100RP, 98WS, 97ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Utter perfection, and one of the most profound Rhone Ranger wines I have ever tasted... As with many prodigious wines, the extraordinary freshness, purity, equilibrium, and singularity of this effort is breathtaking. Its dense purple color is accompanied by an extraordinary, incredibly pure, all enveloping, intense, sweet nose of black raspberries, kirsch, spring flowers, spice box, and pepper. Full-bodied with not a hard edge to be found, it is stunningly concentrated with unreal purity, a voluptuous texture, and remarkable freshness for a wine of such power, depth, and concentration. 1990 Auguste Clape Cornas
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1990 Auguste Clape Cornas (91RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Clape's 1990 Cornas is outstanding. The color is an opaque black/purple, and the nose offers up rich, ripe aromas of black fruits, licorice, and spices. Superconcentrated, with a full-bodied, highly extracted, mouth-filling taste, this example of Cornas possesses moderate tannin, adequate acidity, and a smashingly long finish. It is also relatively refined for a Cornas, displaying no signs of the rustic tannin or funky, earthy smells many Cornas can possess. (RP)" (01/1997)

2010 Saxum "Heart Stone Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 Saxum "Heart Stone Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (95RP, 95VN, 94ST, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "More dense and rich, the 2010 Heart Stone Vineyard is a co-fermented blend of 51% Syrah and 49% Grenache that comes from a small 7-acre, south-facing vineyard located on the western side of Paso Robles. Aged mostly in large oak puncheons for 20-28 months, it offers up a savory, complex bouquet of kirsch and blackberry-like fruit, meat juice, Provencal herbs, dried licorice, and dusty minerality. Gorgeous on the palate as well, with a deft, elegant texture, building richness, and layers of chewy tannin, this beauty is reasonably approachable now, yet will be even better in 2-3 years. It will drink well for 12-15 years. (JD)" (07/2014)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1998 Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe "La Crau" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (95RP, 94WE, 94WS, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Between 1978 and 2007, this 1998 is the greatest Vieux Telegraphe that was produced. It has taken a good decade for this wine to shed its tannins and come out of a dormant, closed period. It has finally emerged, and notes of iodine, seaweed, black currants, incense, and sweet cherries as well as hot rocks jump from the glass of this full-bodied, powerful wine. It possesses considerable elegance and purity, along with loads of raspberries and incense, in a round, juicy, rich style that is just emerging from the closet. The wine is still youthful and a pre-adolescent in terms of its ultimate evolution. Approachable now, it will continue to evolve for another 15-20 years. Bravo! (RP)" (06/2010)

2007 Chante Cigale Châteauneuf-du-Pape "Vieilles Vignes"
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2007 Chante Cigale Châteauneuf-du-Pape "Vieilles Vignes" (95RP, 92VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The compelling 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape Vieilles Vignes (78% Grenache and the rest Syrah and Mourvedre) is made from 60- to 120-year-old vines. Its dense plum/purple hue is followed by knock-out aromas of incense, crushed pepper, cedar, black currant jam, licorice, and sweet cherries. Voluptuously textured, opulent, and round with well-formed, moderately high tannins that are nearly covered by the wine’s fruit and glycerin, it will easily last 15-20 years in a cold, damp cellar. I wish I saw more of these wines in the marketplace as I have been a big fan of this estate since I first tasted their 1978s. (RP)" (10/2009)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2010 Château Sixtine (Cuvée du Vatican) Châteauneuf-du-Pape (OWC - 96RP, 94WS, 92ST) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Chateau Sixtine Chateauneuf du Pape performed exquisitely and, again, was one of the top wines of the vintage. With better integration of the new oak than I have previously seen from Jean-Marc Diffonty, this wine's opaque ruby/purple color possesses lots of licorice, asphalt, graphite, blackberry and kirsch notes as well as hints of lavender, forest floor and garrigue. This opulent, full-bodied effort is approachable, but it will not hit its full stride for another 2-4 years. It should drink well for 15-20 years thereafter ... (RP)" (10/2012)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Showing the quality of the vintage, the 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape is an incredible wine. Possessing the classic kirsch liqueur, incense, flowers and licorice aromas and flavors that always show here, it flows onto the palate with a jaw dropping good texture that carries massive amounts of fruit, beautiful mid-palate concentration and a layered, silky feel. 2000 Domaine de la Charbonniere "Les Hauts Brusquieres Cuvée Speciale" Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2000 Domaine de la Charbonniere "Les Hauts Brusquieres Cuvée Speciale" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (94RP, 90ST, 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Speciale Les Hautes Brusquieres, all from a single vineyard parcel planted high on the plateau of Chateauneuf du Pape, behind the village, is made from 100% destemmed Grenache (60%) and Syrah (40%). Malolactic fermentation occurs in both foudre and barrel, and more new oak is utilized. In contrast to the 2001, the 2000 Chateauneuf du Pape Les Hautes Brusquieres possesses a dense ruby/purple color and pungent, peppery, garrigue aromas intermixed with blackberry, raspberry, and cherry fruit characteristics. This full-bodied offering boasts layers of glycerin, sensational purity, and admirable ripeness. While it does not reveal the color saturation of the 2001, there is similar flavor intensity as well as body. (RP)" (02/2003)

2006 Clos del Rey "Clos del Rey" Languedoc-Roussillon
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2006 Clos del Rey "Clos del Rey" Languedoc-Roussillon (95RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Representing a small barrel-selection (around half new oak) from the material that would otherwise have become Mas del Rey, the 2006 Cotes du Roussillon Clos del Rey displays vividly bright black fruits; a dense, sappy, yet lively palate impression, and a salty, smoky, stony, and stunningly intense finish that manages to be both gripping and infectiously juicy. This needs time in the air to express itself, and as it opens up, the profundity of its fruit and illusive minerality; a bitter sweet, iris-like floral dimension; and above all the wine’s lift and elegance become dramatically evident. There is not an ounce of fat or a touch of cosmetics on this handsome, taut body. Feel free to follow its evolution for a decade at least. (Imagine what the 2007 might be like!) (DS)" (06/2009)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2007 Domaine Saint Siffrein Chateauneuf-du-Pape (94RP, 90ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The finest effort I have yet tasted from this estate, the 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape is composed of 65% Grenache, 15% Syrah, 15% Mourvedre, and 5% Cinsault. Its traditional upbringing included 100% aging in old foudres. Its dense ruby/purple color is followed by a big, sweet, juicy kiss of kirsch liqueur intermixed with blacker fruits, raspberries, licorice, camphor, and hints of lavender and incense. The wine exhibits terrific concentration, full-bodied intensity, and a 45-50-second finish. Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2007 Domaine Senechaux Châteauneuf-du-Pape (94RP, 92WS, 90VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The fabulous 2007 Châteauneuf-du-Pape (a blend of 64% Grenache, 19% Syrah, 15% Mourvedre, and the rest Cinsault and Vaccarese) boasts a deep plum/ruby/purple color as well as a super expressive perfume that represents the essence of Provence. Fresh bouquet garni, roasted Provencal herbs, licorice, black cherries, and black currant aromas soar from the glass of this full-bodied, incredibly deep, savory wine. Juicy and succulent with terrific acidity, freshness, and length, it is accessible now, and should continue to drink well for 12-15 or more years. Bravo to the Cazes family! This 60+ acre estate was acquired by the Cazes family (proprietors of Château Lynch-Bages in Pauillac) in late 2006. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2012 Saxum "Terry Hoage" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (97RP, 92VN, 91WS). It has an up front approachable and sexy feel in its cherry blossom and black raspberry fruit, crushed flowers and spice aromas and flavors. The 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape Les Hautes Brusquieres Cuvee Speciale is a blend of 60% Grenache and 40% Syrah. The Grenache is aged in large oak foudres and most of the Syrah in smaller barrels. This fabulous, inky/ruby/purple-tinged wine offers up sweet, jammy aromas of black raspberries, licorice, truffles, underbrush, and Provencal herbs. It is the deepest colored of these four wines, and is also profoundly rich and layered, with sweet tannins as well as refreshing vibrancy and acidity. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Beaucastel has been on a terrific qualitative roll over the last four vintages, and the 2001 Chateauneuf du Pape (which Francois Perrin feels is similar to the 1990, although I don’t see that as of yet) is a 15,000-case blend of 30% Grenache, 30% Mourvedre, 10% Syrah, 10% Counoise, and the balance split among the other permitted varietals of the appellation. This inky/ruby/purple-colored cuvee offers a classic Beaucastel bouquet of new saddle leather, cigar smoke, roasted herbs, black truffles, underbrush, and blackberry as well as cherry fruit. It is a superb, earthy expression of this Mourvedre-dominated cuvee. Full-bodied and powerful, it will undoubtedly close down over the next several years, not to re-emerge for 7-8 years. 2009 Saxum "Bone Rock - James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhone Blend
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2009 Saxum "Bone Rock - James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhone Blend (94RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Bone Rock is a round, enticing red laced with sweet, succulent dark cherries, plums, flowers and spices. It shows remarkable intensity and fabulous balance. Bone Rock is made from the first blocks planted in the James Berry vineyard and is predominantly Syrah, while the James Berry Vineyard (the wine) is Grenache focused. In 2009 the blend was 57% Syrah, 31% Mourvedre and 12% Grenache. The Syrah component was vinified with 100% stems and saw a maceration lasting 50 days. The wine was aged in 60% new oak. It is slightly tighter and more restrained than the 2010 Chaupin, but it has enormous volume as well as incredible glycerin, richness and fat. Chave Hermitage Rouge, and 1-bottle of 1987 J.L. Chave Hermitage Rouge. Of the 1985 J.L. Chave Hermitage Rouge,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "Chave produced the best red Hermitage of this vintage. Yet for Chave 1985 was not a year he cares to remember.
