1996 Remirez de Ganuza Rioja Reserva (OWC)
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 1996 Remirez de Ganuza Rioja Reserva in original wood (95ST, 91RP). tephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright medium ruby. Knockout nose combines wild blackberry, plum, leather, minerals, lead pencil, smoke and meat; vibrant and extraordinarily complex. Then amazingly concentrated and intense in the mouth; not especially fleshy today owing to its brisk acidity but has terrific underlying density, great flavor expression and verve, and impeccable balance. Intriguing notes of game and white pepper add complexity. Utterly vibrant, firmly tannic and extremely long and subtle on the aftertaste. (ST)" (11/2001)

2004 Bodegas Numanthia-Termes "Numanthia" Toro
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2004 Bodegas Numanthia-Termes "Numanthia" Toro (98RP, 95WS, 94W&S, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Any aspiring collectors should add a case of this to their stash. The 2004 Numanthia comes from a different terroir with a different clone of Tinta de Toro. The vines for this cuvee range from 70-100 years of age with tiny yields of 1 ton of fruit per acre. The wine undergoes malolactic fermentation in barrel followed by 19 months in new French oak before being bottled unfined and unfiltered. The wine is a glass-coating opaque purple with a killer nose of mineral, pencil lead, wild blueberry, and blackberry liqueur that roars from the glass. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, dense, and already beginning to show complexity within its layers of spicy black fruits. There is immense power, well-concealed ripe tannin, and the well-delineated finish lasts for over one minute. This is a sensational effort which in a perfect world should be cellared for a d

2001 Bodegas Numanthia-Termes "Numanthia" Toro
Bid on this bottle of 2001 Bodegas Numanthia-Termes "Numanthia" Toro (95RP, 94ST). 95 points Robert Parker: "The flagship offering, the 2001 Numanthia, is fashioned from a 70-100 year old Tinta de Toro vineyard planted at a 2300 foot elevation. After a 28 day maceration, the wine undergoes malolactic in barrel, is aged 19 months in new French oak, and is bottled without fining or filtration. The spectacular, opaque purple-colored 2001 offers an explosive nose of melted licorice, barbecue smoke, blackberries, creme de cassis, camphor, and graphite. Full-bodied with gorgeously rich, concentrated fruit, a layered texture, and tremendous purity, it can be drunk young, but should hit its prime in 1-2 years, and last for 10-15." (04/04) 94 points Stephen Tanzer: "Good saturated ruby. Slightly reduced aromas of blackberry, violet, espresso and bitter chocolate. Suave and smooth in the mouth, with firm flavors of blackberry, violet and licorice. More perfumed and vibrant than the Termes. Fini

2004 Dominio de Pingus "Flor de Pingus" Ribera del Duero
Bid on this bottle of 2004 Dominio de Pingus "Flor de Pingus" Ribera del Duero (98RP, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The sublime 2004 Flor de Pingus lacks the pure size and power of the 2005 but more than makes up for it with a regal elegance. The aromatics are already revealing considerable complexity while on the palate it is succulent, impeccably balanced, and mouth-coating. Give it another 5-6 years of bottle age and drink it from 2015 to 2034. (JM)" (06/2010)
