2003 M. Chapoutier "De l'Orée" Ermitage Blanc
Bid on this bottle of 2003 M. Chapoutier "De l'Orée" Ermitage Blanc (99RP, 95WS, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Nearly perfect, one of the most prodigious dry white wines I have ever tasted is the 2003 Ermitage Cuvee de l’Oree. A 669-case cuvee fashioned from yields of 10 hectoliters per hectare, it offers aromas and flavors beyond anything I have previously tasted in a dry white. It tastes like a liqueur of licorice intermixed with a liqueur of honeysuckle, quince, and rocks. Opulent, viscous, and full-bodied, at first glance it is seemingly fragile and over the top, but it boasts extraordinary freshness and liveliness as well as monster concentration and a finish that lasts over 60 seconds. I suspect it will drink beautifully for 3-4 years, then go into a funky stage, and re-emerge two decades later. It may be a 100-year wine ... but who knows? Without question, it is a tour de force in winemaking. (RP)" (02/2006)

Bid on this bottle of 1998 Domaine De La Vieille Julienne Châteauneuf-du-Pape Vieilles Vignes (95WS, 92RP, 91ST). Wine Spectator: "Still young and surprisingly tight, with a racy beam of red and black currant fruit that slowly unwinds on the palate to show hints of spice cake, sweet earth, licorice and mineral. The superlong, racy finish is carried by the riveting acidity. This still needs some cellaring.--1998 Châteauneuf-du-Pape retrospective. Best from 2008 through 2027. (JM)" (09/2007)

1999 Tardieu-Laurent Hermitage
Bid on this bottle of 1999 Tardieu-Laurent Hermitage ((95-98RP), 93ST, 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "While the 2000 Tardieu-Laurent offerings are excellent for the vintage, they are significantly less concentrated and textured compared to the awesome 1999s. The 1999s which were given fabulous ratings from barrel, were not tasted from bottle. However, given part experience with bottled Tardieu-Laurent wines, they are undoutedly as good as I predicted from cask. They are not racked until bottling, produced with minimal levels of SO2, and bottled with neither fining nor filtration. (RP)" (04/2002)

Wine Spectator: "A stunner, combining the rich currant, fig and boysenberry fruit of the vintage with the region's characteristic charred apple wood, graphite, aged tobacco and black tea notes. The long, invigorating finish is supported by riveting acidity and well-embedded grip. When power and finesse work together, it's a beautiful thing. (JM)" (09/2009)

Of the 1998 Roger Sabon "Le Secret de Sabon" Châteauneuf-du-Pape,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "Shockingly good, the 1998 Chateauneuf du Pape le Secret du Sabon tastes like a hypothetical blend of the 2007 and the 2001. Powerful, massive, concentrated and beautifully ripe, it offers notions of kirsch, currants, peppered meats, Asian spice and licorice in its seamless, yet voluptuous and hedonistic personality. It's a crazy good bottle of wine that could be considered over-the-top by some, but who cares when it's this good? If I had bottles, I'd line them up for drinking as you don't want to miss this beauty while it's drinking at point.

Chapoutier "Le Méal" Ermitage (96WE, 94RP, 92ST). Of the 1999 M. Chapoutier "Le Méal" Ermitage Rouge,Wine Enthusiast writes: "Chapoutier's selections of the best parcels of vines in Hermitage are set to become legendary. Sold under the ancient spelling of the appellation name (Ermitage), they represent the epitome of the power and concentration that lies behind the reputation of the appellation. This cuvée is the best of the collection, with its brooding, opaque character, suggesting rather than revealing power at this stage. 2001 E. Guigal "Ex-Voto" Hermitage Blanc
Bid on this bottle of 2001 E. Guigal "Ex-Voto" Hermitage Blanc (96RP, 93WS, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A stunning effort, the 2001 Hermitage Ex-Voto blanc is an 8,000-bottle cuvee produced from 50 and 90-year old vines in Les Murets and l’Ermite vineyards; it will only be made in the greatest vintages. Aged in 100% new oak for 18 months, it is a blend of 95% Marsanne and 5% Roussanne. This fabulous white Hermitage ranks alongside Chapoutier’s limited cuvees of Le Meal, l’Ermite, and l’Oree. Guigal’s 2001 Hermitage Ex-Voto offers up stupendous aromas of white peaches, truffles, quince, and a liqueur of stones. This amazing white should drink well young, yet last 2-3 decades. Bid on this bottle of 1998 Domaine du Pégäu "Cuvée da Capo" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (99RP, 98WS, 95ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Notably more youthful and lively than either the Reservee or Cuvee Laurence, the 1998 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee da Capo offers a massive, full-bodied and decadent profile to go with ripe, full-throttle notes of cassis, licorice, roasted herbs, Asian spice and garrigue. The first vintage of this tiny production cuvee and coming all from the old vines of La Crau and mostly rolled pebble soils, it's just now at the early stages of maturity and has plenty of life ahead of it. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2001 M. Chapoutier "Le Pavillon" Ermitage Rouge ((93-95RP), 95ST, 94WS, 93W&S). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Year in and year out, one of the three greatest Hermitages made is Chapoutier’s Le Pavillon. The 2001 Ermitage Le Pavillon exhibits a saturated ruby/purple color as well as a big, sweet nose of camphor, ink, creme de cassis, and hints of licorice as well as smoke. Although dense, rich, and full-bodied, the 2001 reveals more acidity in its delineated, nervous personality. Unquestionably great and intense, it will be less charming and precocious than its 2000 sibling. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2030. These uncompromising offerings from a young genius are not meant for consumers who want something to drink immediately. They are the essence of bio-dynamically farmed vineyard sites cropped incredibly low, given extended fermentations with indigenous yeasts, and rarely touched until they go into the bottle unfined and unfiltered. In most vintages, the wi

Bid on this 1.5 liter 3-bottle lot of 2008 Domaine Jamet Côte-Rôtie (1.5L) (94W&S, 92ST, 91WS). Wine & Spirits: "This is not a wine for the impatient. It took two days of cajoling—pouring, swirling, waiting, swirling some more—for this to give up anything but a wild celery seed spice. Slowly, it grew redder, the fruit tangy and firm as cranberries; then it blossomed into black plum, and the celery morphed into black pepper. Syrah realized. Côte-Rôtie like you only read about, reticent and cranky and worth the wait. Don’t do what we did: Wait ten or 20 years to open this up, and have a long evening ahead." (02/2013)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2006 Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe "La Crau" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (94RP, 93WS, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the more youthful wines in the retrospective, the 2006 Chateauneuf du Pape La Crau from the Brunier brothers is a head-turner. Possessing the ever present seaweed/nori character that I almost always find in this cuvee, it has a beautiful core of currants, crushed rocks, tapenade and licorice-like aromas and flavors. Made from 65% Grenache, 15% each of Mourvèdre and Syrah, and the balance Cinsault—all from the famed La Crau lieu-dit—this is as traditional and classic Chateauneuf du Pape as you can get. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2000 M. Chapoutier Ermitage "L'Ermite" Rouge (99RP, 94W&S, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I grossly underestimated the 2000 Ermitage l’Ermite from barrel. This wine, which emerges from largely pre-phylloxera vines planted on the dome of Hermitage, adjacent to the chapel that is perched there so photogenically, possesses extraordinary finesse and elegance. It reveals notes of liquid minerals intermixed with kirsch liqueur and blackberries. While it never possesses the power and breadth of flavor of Le Meal or Le Pavillon, l’Ermite appears to be a hypothetical blend of Bordeaux’s Lafleur and Ausone as it always displays a certain austerity early in life. The extraordinary 2000 flirts with perfection. A provocative wine with great minerality, finesse, and delineation, it blew me away when I tasted it from bottle. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2035. Bid on this bottle of 2010 E. Guigal "Château d'Ampuis" Côte-Rotie (99RP, 97WS, 94VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "More closed than when I tasted it earlier this year, the 2010 Cote Rotie Chateau d’Ampuis is an incredible effort that’s made from 93% Syrah and 7% Viognier. Coming from the estate’s top sites and aged 38 months in new oak, it has no problem standing beside the top three single-vineyard releases. Crème de cassis, vanilla bean, smoked meats and licorice all flow to a full-bodied, beautifully concentrated, structured Cote Rotie that needs another 5-6 years of bottle age, but will keep for 2-3 decades. Bid on this bottle of 2007 Clos du Mont Olivet "La Cuvée du Papet" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (99RP, 96WS, 95VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Flirting with perfection, the utterly profound 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape la Cuvee du Papet is up there with some of the greatest Chateauneuf du Papes ever made. A huge, classically styled and Provencal wine, it offers layers of garrigue, black currants, licorice, beef blood and leather, as well as building tannin, a stacked mid-palate and a finish that just won’t quit. Made from 70% Grenache, 20% Mourvèdre and 10% Syrah that was not destemmed, it was aged in equal parts concrete tanks and ancient foudre. Bid on this bottle of 2001 Château de Beaucastel Châteauneuf-du-Pape (96RP, 93WS, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Beaucastel has been on a terrific qualitative roll over the last four vintages, and the 2001 Chateauneuf du Pape (which Francois Perrin feels is similar to the 1990, although I don’t see that as of yet) is a 15,000-case blend of 30% Grenache, 30% Mourvedre, 10% Syrah, 10% Counoise, and the balance split among the other permitted varietals of the appellation. This inky/ruby/purple-colored cuvee offers a classic Beaucastel bouquet of new saddle leather, cigar smoke, roasted herbs, black truffles, underbrush, and blackberry as well as cherry fruit. It is a superb, earthy expression of this Mourvedre-dominated cuvee. Full-bodied and powerful, it will undoubtedly close down over the next several years, not to re-emerge for 7-8 years. Memorizing its aromas, its flavors, its texture, and its length is a quick education in what great wine is all about. Still an infant, with a murky, dark ruby/garnet color, this wine offers a smoky, tar, cassis, herb, and grilled meat set of aromatics, huge body, and mouth-searing tannin. One of the most complex, classic and multidimensional in the lineup, it offers lots of crushed rock-like minerality, smoked black fruits, spice and licorice aromas and flavors. Dense ruby/purple-tinged with an exquisite nose of salty sea breezes, licorice, ground pepper, jammy black cherries, black currants, figs, and plums, this is a full-bodied, rich, Provencal-styled offering with lots of sweet, ripe tannin. It is surprisingly accessible for a Vieux Telegraphe (this wine normally shuts down several years after bottling), but it should have great longevity (25+ years) given its power, full-bodied mouthfeel, and enormous length and richness. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Still a youngster, the blockbuster 1995 Ermitage le Pavillon is a quintessential Hermitage in every way. Full-bodied, powerful, thick and unctuous, with tons of smoky, black, black fruits, tar, saddle leather and peppery herbs, this perfect wine is massively concentrated, rich and stacked, with masses of ripe tannin hiding under its still lively and fresh fruit. And while it’s a brilliant drink today, it’s still not yet fully mature. This tour de Force beauty will see its 50th birthday in fine form! (JD)" (03/2016)

2007 Mas de Boislauzon "Cuvée du Quet" Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Bid on this bottle of 2007 Mas de Boislauzon "Cuvée du Quet" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (100RP, 94ST, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A huge, monster of a wine is the 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape Quet! This Grenache-dominated beauty offers crazy amounts of black currants, black licorice, beef blood and Provencal herbs in a thick, unctuous, full-bodied yet ethereal and seamless package. And while it carries an incredible amount of fruit and texture, it remains graceful and lively on the palate, with no hard edges, sweet, still present tannin and a huge finish. This is a tour de force in wine that has another two decades of longevity. (JD)" (02/2017)

2005 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Tasting Lot
Bid on this 2-bottle 2005 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Tasting Lot, including 1-bottle of 2005 Château de Beaucastel Châteauneuf-du-Pape (96WS, 95RP, 94ST, 92W&S, 90WE) and 1-bottle of 2005 Clos des Papes Châteauneuf-du-Pape (98WS, 95ST, 94RP). Of the 2005 Clos des Papes Châteauneuf-du-Pape,Wine Spectator writes: "*Top Wine of 2007* Really tight now, but packed with dark fig, currant, espresso, licorice and chocolate notes. Superfleshy but seriously structured, there's layer after layer of sweet spice, fruit and minerality pumping through the finish, with lots of latent depth and power. Far more backward than the 2003 or 2004 on release, but since this red typically puts on weight as it ages, it should be a monster--à la the 1990--when it reaches its peak. Best from 2009 through 2030. (JM)" (12/2007)

Made from 100% Syrah, it’s a masculine and structured Cote Rotie that has lively dark fruits, smoked herbs, bacon fat and searing minerality, as well as medium to full-bodied richness and depth on the palate.
