Of the 2007 Shafer "Hillside Select" Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "One of the perfect wines from Shafer is the 2007 Shafer Cabernet Sauvignon Hillside Select. Think it over – in the first decade of the 21st century, Shafer scored three perfect scores and two 99s – that’s about as high a praise as I can give any producer in the world. Opaque purple in color, the 2007 has a stunning nose of sweet crème de cassis, black cherries, licorice, and toa

2006 Sloan Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2006 Sloan Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (98RP, 97WS, 93JS, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2006 is performing even better from bottle than it did from barrel. Sloan and McClellan decided to bottle it later than usual, recognizing the rugged, tough tannins of the vintage could be sweetened up with longer barrel aging. Their strategy worked. The wine’s dense ruby/purple color is followed by notes of white chocolate, burning embers, creme de cassis, coffee, and scorched earth (think Haut-Brion or La Mission Haut-Brion). It possesses terrific structure, melted, well-integrated tannins, full body, and is already bursting with complexity. A great success, it is one of the vintage’s most thrilling wines. Drink it over the next 20-25 years. 98+ points. (RP)" (12/2009)

2006 Alban "Reva" Edna Valley Syrah (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 2006 Alban "Reva" Edna Valley Syrah (1.5L) (100RP, 97WS, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2006 Syrah Reva, coming from parcels of dark, volcanic soil, has off-the-chart richness and intensity. This thick, opaque-purple colored wine offers up notes of scorched earth, ground pepper, and blackberry liqueur intermixed with cassis, licorice, camphor, and tar. The wine is spectacular in every sense. Full-bodied and certainly not for wimps, this is a remarkably concentrated yet very nuanced and intense wine that should age for 20 more years. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2006 Pinot Noir Bodega Headlands Cuvee Elizabeth is undeniably a grand cru effort. Black raspberry, spring flower (violets), and kirsch aromas soar from the glass of this dark ruby/purple-tinged wine. Medium to full-bodied with zesty acidity, beautiful penetration, and a soaring mid-palate as well as length result in a prodigious example of Pinot Noir that should drink well for a decade or more. It's a wonderful Zinfandel, powerful and complex, yet dry and elegant. The tannins are strong, but finely ground, and the raspberry, cherry, red currant, cola and Asian spice flavors are luscious." 2006 Shafer "One Point Five" Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2006 Shafer "One Point Five" Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon (94W&S, 91ST, 90JS, 90WE). Wine & Spirits: "In the 2004 vintage, the Shafers replaced their Napa Valley Cabernet with One Point Five...The texture, that signal aspect of SLD fruit, is layered and as rich as French roast coffee, with an underlying tension that keeps the vine focused on high-toned red fruit, dark earth and violet scents. It's powerful and guarded when first poured, growing sleek and classical with a day of air. This should drink increasingly well over the next ten years." (07/2009)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2006 Spottswoode "Family Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (95JS, 95RP, 94CG, 92WS, 90ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This wine, which I believe will evolve for 25 or more years, has a gorgeous nose of violets, black currants, licorice, camphor, and a hint of graphite. Layered, rich, and full-bodied, the wine has an opaque purple color as well as wonderful purity and balance. It could be considered the wine world’s version of haute couture at a top address in Paris. It’s a beauty, perfectly balanced and as flawless and seamless as a 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa can be. Drink it over the next 25 years. (RP)" (12/2009)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2006 Sine Qua Non "The Raven" California Syrah (96RP, 95WS, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2006 Raven Series Syrah, a blend of 93% Syrah, 5% Grenache, and 2% Viognier that spends just under two years in French oak. Offering a dense purple color, gorgeous fruit, and a sweet perfume of graphite, blackberries, blueberries, charcoal, licorice, tar, and new oak, it is a dense, full-bodied, well-endowed, beautifully layered, pure Syrah that should drink well for 10-15 years. The compelling floweriness, blue and black fruits, and full-bodied richness make this one of the most distinctive and extraordinary wines of Napa. Strutting its stuff even more this year than it was last year, it should provide immense pleasure over the next 25+ years. (RP)" (12/2009)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2006 Denis Bachelet Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru Vieilles Vignes ((91-94BH), 94RP, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Pre-selection and rigorous sorting appear to have eliminated any negative impact of hail in Bachelet's 2006 Charmes-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes, but with the result that this virtually always intense and well-structured wine from 80 year old vines is even more so than usual. Bitter-sweet herbal, tarry, and almost liqueur-like dark berry concentrates (cassis and black raspberry) – along with low-toned roast meatiness – inform a seamless palate, softer to the touch and with a more restrained impression of acidity than the old vines village Gevrey, yet still plenty of vivacious primary fruit juiciness. Hints of sealing wax and inner-mouth perfume of peony, heliotrope, and rose add intrigue and allure. Resin, iodine, and wet stone convey a sense of depth in the lingering finish, and speaking of 'lingering,' the empty glass smells so sweetly fr

2006 Domaine des Chezeaux Clos-St.-Denis Vieilles Vignes (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 2006 Domaine des Chezeaux Clos-St.-Denis Vieilles Vignes (1.5L). This wine is the same as that sold under the Ponsot label, except for the paper sticker on the bottle. It even has his proprietary glass and comes from the same 100+ year-old vines, as well as being vinified in the same cellar. Oh, and the price—a fraction of that under Ponsot's own label. Such are the joys of share-cropping. The Ponsot wine recieved 92=94 points from Allen Meadows in Burghound: "Strong reduction. The flavor profile is wonderfully rich, full and naturally sweet and brimming with buckets of dry extract that renders the tannins all but invisible on the fantastically deep and impressively balanced finish that offers up lovely freshness and precision. What I really admire about this wine is that it delivers so much flavor pop and breadth with absolutely no trace of undue weight or heaviness. In a word, terrific." (01/2008)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon, a candidate for Cabernet of the vintage, reveals a gorgeous perfume of chocolate, black raspberries, flowers, ink, and graphite, followed by a full-bodied, textured, superbly concentrated wine with terrific purity as well as density... Buccella, under the guidance of well-known winemaking consultant Celia Masyczek has fashioned brilliant Cabernet Sauvignons in both 2006 and 2007. (RP)" (12/2009)

2006 Dom Pérignon Brut Champagne (Gift Box)
Bid on this bottle of 2006 Dom Pérignon Brut Champagne (Gift Box - 97VN, 95WS) in gift box. Vinous: "The 2006 Dom Pérignon is a beautifully balanced, harmonious Dom Pérignon that strikes an incredibly appealing stylistic middle ground. Rich, voluptuous and creamy, the 2006 shows off fabulous intensity in a style that brings together the ripeness of 2002 with the greater sense of verve and overall freshness that is such a signature of the 2004. Bass notes and a feeling of phenolic grip on the finish recall the 2003, as the Pinot Noir is particularly expressive today. After an irregular summer that saw elevated temperatures in July followed by cooler, damp conditions in August, more favorable weather returned in September, pushing maturation ahead and leading to a long, protracted harvest. The 2006 falls into the family of riper, more voluptuous Dom Pérignons, but without veering into the level of opulence seen in vintages such as 2002. (AG)" (10/2015)
