Of the 2007 Windward "Monopole" Estate Paso Robles Pinot Noir,Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar writes: "Medium red. Sexy, understated aromas of raspberry, cherry and candied rose, with a spicy overtone. Suave and seamless on the palate, with good depth to its red fruit and spice flavors. Gentle tannins add grip to the long, spicy, focused finish. No way that I'd have guessed this wine came from a warm area. (JR)" (11/2011)

Think it over – in the first decade of the 21st century, Shafer scored three perfect scores and two 99s – that’s about as high a praise as I can give any producer in the world. 2007 Bruno Giacosa "Asili" Barbaresco
Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 2007 Bruno Giacosa "Asili" Barbaresco (94RP, 94VN, 93JS, 93ST, 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Barbaresco Asili is a striking, elegant wine. Sweet roses, minerals, flowers, menthol and minerals emerge from this firm yet intensely perfumed Barbaresco. The wine reveals gorgeous weight and textural richness in a firm style that requires patience. Beginning with the 2007 vintage, the vineyards delimitations in Barbaresco have been re-drawn. As a result, Giacosa’s parcel in Rabaja is now considered part of Asili, which means there will be no more Barbaresco Rabaja from Bruno Giacosa after 2005. In 2007, the white label Asili is roughly 80% juice from the old ‘Rabaja’ parcel and 20% Asili from the vines Giacosa has always used for his Asili. Curiously, the 2007 Asili is a very soft wine, considering it is made mostly from vines that informed such majestic Rabajas as the 2001 and 2004. (AG)" (10/2009)

2007 Domaine Roulot Meursault 1er Cru "Les Charmes" (1.5L)
Bid on this 2-magnum lot of 2007 Domaine Roulot Meursault 1er Cru "Les Charmes" (1.5L) (93BH, 92ST, 90RP). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Unlike this wine in 750 ml (see there review herein), there was no touch of unabsorbed sulfur on the nose though there was a mild note of reduction that still allowed the aromas of acacia blossom, hazelnut and brioche to be appreciated. There is good richness to the detailed, textured and silky medium-bodied flavors that caress the palate on the minty and still noticeably tight finish. Not surprisingly in magnum format this is still very much on the way up so I would recommend giving this at least another 5 to 10 years of cellar time first." (12/2015)

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2007 Billaud-Simon Chablis-Vaudésir Grand Cru ((93-95JS), 92RP, (89-91ST)). James Suckling: "A moderately riper yet extremely tight nose of iodine, salt and intense sea shore aromas complement to perfection the rich, full and powerful flavors that are a big step up in weight and power as they etch themselves into the palate on the broad-shouldered and muscular finish. This isn't a wine of finesse but as Chablis goes, this is a bruiser of superb intensity that embodies the phrase "jus de pierre" (rock juice)." (10/2009)

Deep ruby/purple with crushed raspberries, violets, Chinese black tea, and chalky, almost wet stone-like notes, the wine is rich, full-bodied, multi-dimensional, with superb depth and length, and a remarkable finish. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve (100%) was jointly made by Mark McNeilly and Ross Michel. Opaque purple in color, it surrenders a stunning bouquet of pain grille, pencil lead, licorice, espresso, Asian spices, truffle, and black currant. Full-bodied, dense, and plush, this impeccably balanced, powerful yet elegant offering will evolve for at least another 6-8 years and live to see its 25th birthday without difficulty. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2007 Aubert "Reuling Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (98RP, 94WS, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The exquisite, dark ruby/purple-tinged 2007 Pinot Noir Reuling Vineyard offers up copious aromas of blue, red, and black fruits in addition to terrific acidity, a broad expansive mouthfeel, and roasted meat, black raspberry, wild strawberry, and foresty flora characteristics. It is a big, concentrated Pinot Noir that makes a mockery of all the over-cropped Pinots that are promoted as "authentic expressions of terroir," when in fact, they are made from over-cropped vineyards and prey on those not familiar with what top-flight Pinot Noirs should taste like. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Utter perfection, and one of the most profound Rhone Ranger wines I have ever tasted... As with many prodigious wines, the extraordinary freshness, purity, equilibrium, and singularity of this effort is breathtaking. Its dense purple color is accompanied by an extraordinary, incredibly pure, all enveloping, intense, sweet nose of black raspberries, kirsch, spring flowers, spice box, and pepper. Full-bodied with not a hard edge to be found, it is stunningly concentrated with unreal purity, a voluptuous texture, and remarkable freshness for a wine of such power, depth, and concentration. Bid on this magnum of 2007 Futo Oakville Bordeaux Blend (1.5L) (OWC - 98RP, 97WS, 94ST) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "These proprietary reds are dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon, and the 2007 is the finest wine yet produced at Futo. A blend of 61% Cabernet Sauvignon, a whopping 33% Cabernet Franc, and 6% Petit Verdot, it boasts a dense purple color as well as a gorgeously sweet bouquet of blue and black fruits, spring flowers, and crushed rocks, full-bodied power allied to compelling elegance, and a layered, multidimensional personality. There is plenty of depth in this beauty, and it is no doubt capable of putting on lots of weight and complexity given the Cabernet Franc component. Bid on this magnum of 2007 Levy & McClellan Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (OWC - 96RP, 95ST) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon has closed down slightly since last year. Now in bottle, it exhibits an opaque purple color as well as a similar but more subdued bouquet of lead pencil shavings, burning embers, blueberry liqueur, creme de cassis and flowers. Powerful, rich and pure, its statuesque structure, lavish concentration and formidable tannin levels suggest 3-5 years of bottle age is warranted. This may turn out to be the finest Cabernet Sauvignon produced in the short history of the Levy and McClellan Diamond Mountain winery, although the 2008 has the potential to equal it. It possesses tremendous ripeness, full-bodied richness, incredible purity and a singular style that stands out from the crowd. This flawless, seamless 2007 should drink well for 20-25 years. Aromas of toasty oak, espresso, Asian spices, incense, black currant, and blackberry lead to a firmly structured wine with impeccable balance and serious aging potential. 2007 Marcassin "Marcassin Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Bid on this bottle of 2007 Marcassin "Marcassin Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (98RP, 96WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I had always believed the 2007 Pinot Noir was the finest Helen Turley and John Wetlaufer had produced at their Estate Vineyard, but after doing this vertical and seeing the performances of the 1998, 2002 and 2004, that belief rings somewhat hollow. The still young, incredible 2007 has all the potential needed to achieve a three-digit rating in a few years. A dense plum/purple color is followed by notes of subtle smoke, barbecue spice, blueberries, red and black currants, flowers, and a smoky meat-like character that I first compared to the aroma of Peking duck. There is something exotic about this full-bodied, dense 2007. Young and vibrant, it should hit its peak in 5-6 years, and last until 2030-2035. This world-class, prodigious Pinot Noir is probably better than 90% of the red Burgundies being produced. 98+ (RP)" (06/2014)

Of the 2007 L'Aventure "Côte à Côte - Estate" Paso Robles Rhône Blend,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "Just as good, the 2007 Cote a Cote starts out tight and reserved, but blossoms with time in the glass, showing incredibly pure creme de cassis, black cherry, licorice and spice-driven aromas and flavors. These all flow to a full-bodied, deep, rich and layered profile on the palate that carries beautiful concentration, excellent overall purity and freshness, and a blockbuster finish. The final blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Cabernet Franc and the rest Petit Verdot and Merlot reveals an inky/purple color as well as a gorgeous nose of graphite, creme de cassis, cedarwood, Christmas fruitcake, bay leaf and a damp forest floor-like character. Blackberries, blueberries, freshly cut white flowers, licorice, tar and asphalt are some of the notes that take shape in the glass. Alban gave the 2007 Reva 44 months in untoasted French oak barrels. 2007 Sine Qua Non "Body & Soul" Roussanne-Viognier
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2007 Sine Qua Non "Body & Soul" Roussanne-Viognier (96RP, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The new cuvee of white wine, the 2007 Body and Soul, a 475-case blend of 71% Roussanne and 29% Viognier, is primarily from the 11 Confessions Vineyard. Krankl has dropped Chardonnay from the blend, and the resulting wine is a beacon for what can be achieved by blending two white Rhone varietals. About one-third new French oak is used. Honeysuckle, orange blossom, lemon oil, tropical fruit, and floral notes are found in this unctuously-textured white. Full-bodied and dry, with good underlying minerality, crispness, and an alluring freshness, it is impossible to know how such a wine will age. I just finished my last bottle of the 2001 Albino, which is aging fabulously well, and seems capable of lasting another 4-5 years. These wines are so spectacularly perfumed and intense in their youth that they are hard to resist. (RP)" (08/2009)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2007 Colgin "Cariad" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (OWC - 100JS, 100RP, 95ST, 95WS) in original wood. One of northern California’s watershed vintages for Bordeaux varietals, according to Allison Tauziet, this wine revealed great potential from the day the first grapes were crushed. It possesses a dense purple color, massive fruit, soft but high tannin, and a structural profile somewhat similar to the 2002. There appears to be more underlying minerality in the 2007, but the sweetness of the tannin, the enormous concentration of fruit (blackberry, blueberry, cherry) intermixed with graphite, chocolate, coffee and crushed rock characteristics is striking. This is a compelling, even prodigious wine that hits all the palate’s sweet spots, possesses phenomenal u

Floral notes interwoven with white chocolate, creme de cassis, graphite, licorice, and a hint of bay leaf are followed by a substantial, full-bodied wine with a finish that goes on for nearly a minute. The multilayered texture, depth of fruit, silky yet substantial tannins, and profound finish put it into the uber qualitative category. Wonderfully sweet and fine-grained wine with captivating hints of soft citrus fruits emerging with air. The impressively broad finish really reverberates in the mouth. A superb example of this vineyard, and more classic than the 2008. (ST)" (09/2009)

2007 Abreu "Madrona Ranch" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2007 Abreu "Madrona Ranch" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (98RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Madrona Ranch is a compelling, creamy-styled red offering an assortment of aromas, including white chocolate, graphite, forest floor, blackberries, cassis and blueberries. Pure, multilayered and super-rich, without any harshness or astringency, this is one of those wines that can be drunk young or laid away for 25+ years. David Abreu’s reputation was established as the superstar viticulturist for most of the rich and famous Napa Valley proprietors, but my familiarity with him derives from the extraordinary wines he produces. Today he has four remarkable parcels, three of which are of first-growth quality. From a total of 70 acres, Abreu continues to sell much of the fruit from these vineyards to other wineries. The four vineyards include two St. Helena sites, the Cappella (6 acres) and the Madrona Ranch, which is situated on the lowest slopes of Spring Mounta

2007 Linne Calodo "Cherry Red" Paso Robles Red Blend
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2007 Linne Calodo "Cherry Red" Paso Robles Red Blend (96RP, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The blockbuster 2007 Cherry Red is reminiscent of a Chateau Rayas Chateauneuf du Pape on steroids. An amazing wine that blew me away last year when tasted from barrel, is every bit as riveting from bottle. Production (0.4 tons of fruit per acre) was all from two vineyards, including the James Berry Vineyard. The result is a compelling wine with great acidity, fabulous concentration, an explosive bouquet of sweet red and black fruits, licorice, and spice box, an opulent texture, tremendous purity, and a nearly 60-second finish. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The dazzling 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve (86% Cabernet Sauvignon and 14% Cabernet Franc) requires 2-5 more years of bottle age, but should evolve for three decades. Its dense purple color is accompanied by a thrilling bouquet of espresso roast, smoked herbs, licorice, creme de cassis, blackberries, and ink. The wine hits the palate with a blast of fruit, a full-bodied mouthfeel, and tremendous purity, definition, and length. 2007 Angélus, St-Emilion

Yields were 35 hectoliters per hectare, and the wine achieved 13.5% natural alcohol. Low acidity and ripe tannin make for a voluptuous style of Angelus to drink now and over the next 10-15 years.

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Backus Vineyard boasts a stunningly pure nose of blueberries and blackberries with notions of toast and flowers in the background. Thefloral nature of the fruit only adds to the wine’s complexity. Full-bodied but civilized, this wine’s tannins can be borderline rustic, but that’s not an issue with this glorious, full-bodied, opulent 2007 Napa Cabernet Sauvignon. 2007 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 2007 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (100RP, 96WE, 95ST, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: " A monumental wine in the making, the 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon is one of those wines that presents such an over the top array of aromas and flavors that it’s hard to figure out what you think about it with just a quick glance. It’s only with the second or third sip that you really start to see how special this effort truly is. Offering up perfumed, intense aromas of plum, violets, ink, licorice and black currants, it flows onto the palate with a massive, incredibly full-bodied texture that builds through the mid-palate and carries layers of polished tannins, awesome purity of fruit and blockbuster length. Most likely not for everyone given the sheer size, it is an incredible wine in my opinion. Still tasting like a barrel sample, it will have 30+ total years of longevity. Drink 2017-2037. Bid on this magnum of 2007 Peter Michael "Les Pavots" Knights Valley Bordeaux Blend (1.5L) (97RP, 95WS, 93JS, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Les Pavots, a Bordeaux varietal blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% Cabernet Franc, 10% Merlot, and 3% Petit Verdot, is brilliant. Its opaque purple color is accompanied by gorgeously complex aromas of melted chocolate, espresso roast, blackberries, and cassis. Full-bodied with a superb texture, a subtle note of oak, and fabulous concentration, it is more reminiscent of a Right Bank Bordeaux than one expects with this much Cabernet Sauvignon in the blend. A thirty-year wine, its impeccable balance and the sweetness of its tannins make it accessible already. (RP)" (02/2010)

2007 Larkmead "LMV Salon" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this bottle of 2007 Larkmead "LMV Salon" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (97RP, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A prodigious effort is the 2007 LMV Salon (a 1,000-case blend of 62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Cabernet Franc, 10% Merlot, and the rest Malbec and Petit Verdot). A proprietary red of this quality with a Napa appellation usually sells for $200 or more. A dense purple color is followed by a beautiful perfume of spring flowers, ink, espresso roast, creme de cassis, and black cherries, a full-bodied, voluptuous texture, staggering depth and purity, and a 50-second finish. Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2007 Linne Calodo "Nemesis" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (95RP, 93ST, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Another of the last of the 2007s hitting the market includes the 2007 Nemesis (82% Syrah and the rest Mourvedre). It’s a powerhouse at 15.8% alcohol, aged almost completely in 350-liter hogsheads. The unusually high percentage of Syrah has given it an almost opaque purple color, with an extraordinary nose of black raspberries, graphite, acacias flowers, and crushed rock. Its sweet tannins, superb purity, full-bodied mouthfeel and long finish are stunning. It should last for 10-12 years. (RP)" (08/2010)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2007 Shafer "Relentless" Napa Valley Syrah (96CG, 95RP, 94WS, 93WE, 91ST). Connoisseurs Guide: "***Three Stars*** It is no exaggeration to say the 2007 version may just be the best Relentless to date, but even if not, it is a deep and formidable wine by any standard. Its inky appearance correctly implies a wine of great weight and extract, but, what separates this bottling from its equally well-filled predecessors is its terrific sense of structure and balance. It is tough to be sure, but it never lets go of its plentiful, peppery, blackberry fruit, and it will not come close to showing its best until at least another decade has passed." (03/2011)

Of the 2004 Philip Togni Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "The 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon, a blend of 82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot and the rest Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, comes from steep mountain vineyards at the top of the Napa side of Spring Mountain. Aromas of black olives, tapenade, creme de cassis, licorice and truffles emerge from this opaque ruby/purple-colored, youthful 2004. Togni’s spiritual reference point is Bordeaux more than Napa Valley, and his wines seem to represent a hypothetical melange of those two distinctive schools of wine. Still backward, but rich, full-bodied and promising, this brilliant 2004 is 5-7 years away from its adolescence; it should age for 30-40

2007 Levy & McClellan Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (OWC)
Bid on this bottle of 2007 Levy & McClellan Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (OWC - 96RP, 95ST) in original wood. The 2007 should last for three decades or more. (RP)" (12/2010)
