2009 O'Shaughnessy Mt. Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2009 O'Shaughnessy Mt. Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon (95RP, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Mt. Veeder is impeccable from start to finish. It shows marvelous detail and completeness in its perfumed red berries, mint, flowers and licorice. Tar, ash and a host of other darker nuances add considerable complexity. This is a marvelous showing. Anticipated maturity: 2017-2029. This is a thrilling set of wines from the gregarious Betty O’Shaughnessy and her winemaker Sean Capiaux. The Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon includes a host of other varieties, while the Mt. Veeder bottling is 100% Cabernet. Both wines spend 20 months in French oak barrels and are bottled without fining or filtration. (AG)" (12/2011)

It is one of the more open, accessible wines from Roulot in 2009. Layers of warm, radiant fruit caress the palate in stunning style. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon (98% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Merlot) is a ripe, flamboyant and brilliantly proportioned effort that oozes kirsch, licorice, lead pencil shavings and dried spice on the nose. Showing the perfume and headiness of the vintage, it nevertheless stays vibrant and lively on the palate while delivering layers of fruit and texture. Cloves, dark plums, cherries, smoke and graphite add richness and resonance to this powerful, incisive wine. Juicy and exuberant, the 2009 has always had a certain raciness that is impossible to resist. Layers of fruit continue to build to the enveloping, sensual finish. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Château de Beaucastel "Hommage à Jacques Perrin" Chateauneuf-du-Pape (99RP, 97WS, 96ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Shockingly good, the 2009 Châteauneuf du Pape Hommage À Jacques Perrin offers an off-the-charts bouquet of Provençal herbs, truffle and wet-dog-like qualities intermixed with classic blueberry, blackberry and cassis fruit. Massive and full-bodied on the palate, with a sheer density and decadence that’s hard to believe, this is a pedal-to-the-metal effort that has the fruit to drink beautifully today, yet the concentration, mid-palate, tannin and balance to age for 3-4 decades. Made from a blend of 60% Mourvedre, 20% Syrah and the rest Counoise and Grenache, this is one of the wines of the vintage. (JD)" (02/2015)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Thorevilos displays a stunningly blue/purple color along with an exceptional nose of blueberry and blackberry liqueur intermixed with espresso, white chocolate and violets. With unbelievable intensity, a great, full-bodied mouthfeel, stunning purity, a subtle hint of wood, but no hard edges, this is one 2009 that does not have that broodingly tannic structure that is common in this vintage. 2009 Peter Michael "Point Rouge" Sonoma County Chardonnay
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2009 Peter Michael "Point Rouge" Sonoma County Chardonnay (95ST, 94RP). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Hazy gold. High-pitched aromas of citrus zest, white flowers and quince, with deeper notes of toasty lees and honey adding power. Densely packed lemon curd and orchard fruit flavors are underscored by a zesty mineral quality and show impressive precision. The minerality dominates the long, chewy, finely etched finish, which leaves a sexy floral note behind. This should age slowly; Nic Morlet told me that he left just one cluster of grapes per Chardonnay shoot in 2009 and that almost no sulfur was used to make this wine. (ST)" (06/2011)

Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Here the wood influence is somewhat more noticeable though not enough to materially detract from the otherwise pure, cool and high-toned white flower, stone and sea breeze suffused aromas that complement well the rich, powerful and intensely mineral-driven flavors that possess fine focus and verve on the explosively long and oyster shell-infused finish. Of the 2009 Domaine Roulot Meursault "Meix Chavaux",Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "The 2009 Meix Chavaux, which lies downhill from Vireuils and Luchets, has a delicate flinty nose that is nicely defined, but if truth be told, I was anticipating a little more attach and vigor. The palate has an effervescent quality about it, beautifully poised with hints of freshly sliced apricot and a squeeze of lime. There is a lovely build in the mouth that goes some way to compensating for the aromatics. Very fine. Tasted March 2013. (NM)" (06/2013)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Domaine Anne Gros Clos Vougeot-Le Grand Maupertuis Grand Cru (94ST, 93BH). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good bright medium red. High-pitched, highly perfumed nose offers scents of raspberry, maraschino cherry, spices and rose petal. Densely packed, juicy and youthfully imploded, with rare verve for this very ripe year. A real spice bomb in the mouth. The explosive finish offers outstanding aromatic persistence. This is a velvety wine of harmony and grace that could easily be approached now or aged with confidence for 10 to 12 years." (01/2012)

The finish goes on for a good 40-45 seconds. This is sensational Chardonnay and very much in keeping with this vineyard. Drink now-2020. (RP)" (08/2015)

Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 2009 Kistler "Kistler Vineyard" Sonoma Valley Chardonnay (96RP, 95ST, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Chardonnay Kistler Vineyard, on the other hand, bursts onto the palate with endless layers of white peaches, apricots and white flowers. The deep texture turns delicate and haunting on the finish. There is an exotic, floral note that is very much unique to this bottling that Steve Kistler ascribes to the Mt. Eden and Wente selections planted on this site. This is a marvelously complete, stunning wine. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2019. I was blown away by these wines from Steve Kistler, his partner Mark Bixler and assistant winemaker Jason Kesner. Over the last few years Kistler has refined his approach, as he wasn’t totally satisfied by the way some of his earlier wines had developed in bottle. Today Kistler is picking his Chardonnays at lower Brix levels, using less French oak (with no stirring of the lees) and keeping the wines in barrel for

Rather sullen on the nose, hinting at redcurrant, earth, mint and burnt orange rind; lower-pitched than the two village wines here. Then creamy-sweet and supple in the mouth, with the redcurrant fruit complicated by some underlying minerality. Still, this broad, dry wine comes across as less sharply delineated than the Vosne villages. (ST)" (03/2012)

Sweet, lush and deep, with outstanding clarity and lift to the pure flavors of red cherry, raspberry and flint. Pristine and very long on the vibrant finish, which features extremely sophisticated tannins and superb length. The wine's minerally, flinty quality runs through from nose to aftertaste. Vivid notes of graphite, pencil shavings, plums, cassis and grilled savory herbs come to life in a vivid, kaleidoscopic wine of notable pedigree. The aromatics alone are breathtaking, but the truth is that everything about the 2010 is phenomenal. Endless layers of fruit flow through to the complex, insanely beautiful finish. 2009 Marcassin "Marcassin Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Bid on this bottle of 2009 Marcassin "Marcassin Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (98RP, 97WS, 92VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Pinot Noir Marcassin Vineyard is a gorgeous, clearly California version of a grand cru from Burgundy, such as Clos Saint-Denis or Clos de la Roche. This deep plum/garnet-colored wine offers intense berry fruit along with forest floor, spice box, earth and loads of plum, cherry and strawberry notes, moving toward darker fruits, as well as earthy, autumnal, foresty scents. The wine is full-bodied, with great intensity, sweet tannins and good acidity. Drink it over the next decade or more. (RP)" (08/2015)

2009 E. Guigal "Ex-Voto" Hermitage
Bid on this bottle of 2009 E. Guigal "Ex-Voto" Hermitage (100RP, 97WS, 95ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Every bit as phenomenal as the '10, yet in a completely different style, the 2009 Hermitage Ex Voto reveals a saturated inky color as well as layers of plums, black raspberries, candied violets, licorice and crushed rock. More voluptuous and extroverted than the '10, with an undeniably sexy, full-bodied, massively concentrated personality that just begs to be drunk, it will still evolve for decades on its sheer wealth of material. (JD)" (12/2015)
