Etain literally bursts from the glass with vivid, beautifully articulated fruit. Black cherries, raspberry jam, plums, espresso, menthol and rosemary are just some of the many nuances that take shape in the glass. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Chardonnay The Judge sparkles on the palate with brilliant layers of fruit. It is bright, articulate and beautifully centered from start to finish. There is a weightless richness that is almost impossible to describe for its pure elegance. A dazzling, crystalline finish rounds out the flinty, mineral-drenched notes. Of the 2010 Vineyard 7&8 "Estate" Spring Mountain Chardonnay,Vinous writes: "The 2010 Chardonnay Estate brings together the richness of the house style with the insistent minerality that is typical of this Spring Mountain site. 2009 Buccella Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2009 Buccella Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (92RP, 91JS, 91ST, 91WE, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Both of these wines showed well, with the 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon (94% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Malbec, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc) revealing slightly more structure as well as a more reserved style. This impressive endowed 2009 exhibits lots of creme de cassis, licorice, violets and new oak. A big, full-bodied wine with tannin to shed, so it may require some additional bottle age. Both wines are multi-AVAs from five vineyards spread across Napa Valley. It should last two decades. (RP)" (10/2013)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Lynch-Bages, Pauillac (98RP, 97JS, 96WE, 96WS, 93ST, 93VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Performing even better from bottle than it did from barrel, this appears to be the finest Lynch Bages since the 2000, 1990 and 1989. According to the chateau, the 2009 has the highest level of polyphenols ever measured as well as high alcohol (nearly 13.5%). A blend of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest largely Merlot with touches of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, it is an expressive, voluptuously textured effort with unctuosity and powerful, juicy, succulent blackberry and black currant flavors, low acids, a layered, massive mouthfeel, but no sense of heaviness or fatigue. Of the 2009 Saxum "Paderewski Vineyard" Paso Robles Red Blend,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "The 2009 Paderewski Vineyard is a new bottling from a site Smith developed for Bill and Liz Armstrong, the owners of Epoch. Zinfandel, Syrah, Petit Sirah and Mourvedre are planted in separate plots but co-fermented. 2009 Hourglass "Blueline Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Hourglass "Blueline Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (91WE). Wine Enthusiast: "This is a big, tannic, midnight black Cabernet, rude in youth and barely drinkable. The tannins are powerful enough to lock down the palate. The grapes, grown in Calistoga, are very ripe in blackberries, currants and dark chocolate, but those tannins are stubbornly astringent. Almost old-fashioned in toughness despite very high alcohol, it’s a curiosity that seems likely to develop in the cellar, but with so little evidence of past vintages, all bets are off." (04/2012)

2009 Domaine Jean-Louis Chave Hermitage
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2009 Domaine Jean-Louis Chave Hermitage (100RP, 98WS, 96ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The greatest wines Chave has produced since 2003 are the two cuvees of 2009 Hermitage. The 2009 Hermitage exhibits a black/purple color along with a sumptuous nose of roasted meats, ground pepper, black currants, blackberry jam, and subtle smoke and licorice. The extraordinary bouquet is followed by a wine of extravagant intensity as well as tremendous focus and precision. While not as powerful as the blockbuster 2003, the amazing 2009 may turn out to be a modern day version of their magnificent 1990 (which is drinking incredibly well at present). Anyone who loves Hermitage and has a cold cellar should be lining up to get a few bottles of this beauty. (RP)" (12/2011)

The 2009 impresses for its textural elegance. Lemon, pastry, white flowers, crème brulée and hints of tropical fruit wrap around the finish. A subtle note of minerality acts to balance some of the wine's more overt tendencies. This is a lovely effort. (AG)" (04/2012)

2009 DRC Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Richebourg Grand Cru
Bid on this bottle of 2009 DRC Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Richebourg Grand Cru (97BH, 95ST). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "The bottle that I tried displayed a hint of reduction though not enough to hide the intensely floral and notably ripe nose that features fresh notes of plum, mocha and cassis that are sprinkled with exotic spice notes. The expansive and tautly muscular broad-shouldered flavors are, unusually, almost as fine as those of the RSV yet even slightly more complex with the same finely grained tannins. The length is similar but at present, the extra dimension of depth gives this the barest of edges. Either way, this chewy, robust and overly muscular effort is genuinely sensational and clearly built for the very long haul." (01/2011)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Raphael served this 2009 Meursault les Rougeot blind following my tasting through his 2012s. It has a gorgeous waxy, honeysuckle bouquet with apricot blossom and fig jam aromas. It is exotic compared to the Coche-Dury style, but you won't complain. The palate is very intense with great concentration, superb acidity and layers of walnut-tinged citrus fruit that fan out wonderfully on the finish. Despite the muscular aspect, this is essentially an elegant wine that is more in the vein of a gymnast than a weight lifter." (Burghound, 05/2011)

2009 Domaine Comte Armand Pommard 1er Cru "Clos des Epeneaux"
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2009 Domaine Comte Armand Pommard 1er Cru "Clos des Epeneaux" (94BH, 94VN, 93ST, 91RP). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This is also quite ripe but agreeably fresh with pure aromas of mocha, red currant, cassis, black cherry, warm earth, violets and subtle spice hints. There is good energy to the intense and admirably rich full-bodied flavors that envelope the palate with velvety sap on the beautifully balanced and impressively persistent finish. I very much like the sense of underlying tension because despite this being a big wine with plenty of concentration, the balance is impeccable and there is absolutely nothing ponderous about this complete effort. There is a hint of backend warmth but otherwise, this is really most impressive. Note however that this very firm effort will require plenty of cellar time." (04/2012)

2009 Screaming Eagle Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2009 Screaming Eagle Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (98VN, 97WS, 96RP, 96ST). Vinous: "Once again, the 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon pays homage to the 2007, but the aromas and flavors seems to be just a touch brighter, which might just be a function of the wine's age. A wine of remarkable precision, the 2009 is totally dialed in from start to finish. Layers of intensely sweet, perfumed fruit are woven together with remarkable elegance and sheer polish. Today, the 2009 isn't quite as radiant as it has been in the past, and seems headed for a stubborn phase. It is still striking, though. Even if a bit less exotic than the 2007, the two wines share a silkiness and overall sense of textural finesse. A translucent, weightless finish rounds things out in style. The 2009 is 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Cabernet Franc and 5% Merlot. (AG)" (12/2012)

2009 Domaine Joseph Drouhin Echézeaux Grand Cru
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2009 Domaine Joseph Drouhin Echézeaux Grand Cru. From a 1-acre parcel, farmed biodynamically. Veronique Drouhin writes: "Elegance and perfection, two of Joseph Drouhin's tenets. The color is bright and intense. A full palette of aromas reminiscent of stone fruit (cherry, peach, apricot), cocoa, exotic wood (cedar). On the palate, the texture is like silk and velvet. In the aftertaste, the same touch of dark chocolate is in evidence. Extremely long aftertaste."

2009 Etienne Sauzet Montrachet Grand Cru
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Etienne Sauzet Montrachet Grand Cru (96BH, 96VN, 95RP, 95ST). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "In contrast to the expressiveness of the other grands crus, here the nose is restrained to the point of being almost mute though aggressive swirling liberates highly complex notes of spice, peach, lemon, stone and soft wood. The rich, full-bodied, tight and wonderfully concentrated broad-shouldered flavors possess a silky and seductive texture as well as superb depth on the hugely long and intense finish. Montrachet is naturally a big wine but this is massive by any measure yet it remains, like the Chevalier, impeccably well-balanced. Drink: 2019+ (AM)" (02/2011)
