2009 J.L. Chave Selection "Farconnet" Hermitage
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2009 J.L. Chave Selection "Farconnet" Hermitage (92W&S). Wine & Spirits: "From estate fruit that didn’t make the cut for the domaine bottling, this is lush Hermitage, brimming with purple fruit flavor. Chewy tannins give it brawn while lavender scents add delicacy; with air, leather and cigar-box tones join in. It feels rich and complete, enjoyable now with something robust and beefy, and should drink well over the next decade." (04/2014)

Of the 2010 Rochioli "South River" Russian River Valley Chardonnay,Wine Enthusiast writes: "**Editors' Choice** A spectacular Chardonnay--this is dazzingly beautiful and mesmerizing in its appeal. The complexity of flavor stuns, offering tiers of pineapples, oranges, green apples and golden mangoes. Then the oaky influences appear in the form of buttered toast and caramel, with a suggestion of honey. The finish is dry and crisp in acidity." (09/2012)

2009 Ovid Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this bottle of 2009 Ovid Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (98RP, 97WE, 95ST, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Ovid is stunningly beautiful. At times it shows a little more depth, power and richness than the Hexameter, but both wines are compelling. Endless layers of fruit saturate the palate as this rich, intense wine conquers the heart and intellect. A totally vivid wine, the 2009 is even more impressive from bottle than it was from barrel. Over the time I followed it, the 2009 gained finesse and elegance in the glass, which bodes quite well for the future. Intense graphite, crushed rocks and pencil shaving nuances add energy to the polished, huge finish. 98+ Points (AG)" (12/2012)

2009 Paul Jaboulet Aîné "Thalabert" Crozes-Hermitage (OWC)
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2009 Paul Jaboulet Aîné "Thalabert" Crozes-Hermitage (OWC - 95RP, 92ST, 92WE, 90WS) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The greatest Crozes-Hermitage Domaine de Thalabert since the magnificent 1990 is the 2009. Jaboulet has nearly 100 acres in this appellation, and the 2009, which is bursting with potential, represents a great buy for Syrah lovers. Its dense purple color is followed by an explosive bouquet of blackberries, sweet cherries, licorice, Provencal olives, graphite and subtle smoke. Full-bodied with silky tannins as well as a terrific mouthfeel and palate penetration, this gorgeous offering should drink well for 15 or more years. One needs no further evidence of the extraordinary turn around in the quality of the Jaboulet wines than what proprietress Caroline Frey has accomplished in 2009 as well as 2010. As I indicated last year, this is one of the great qualitative turn arounds in the wine world. (RP)" (12/2011)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Chablis Bougros Cote Bougerots is made from a steep, south-facing parcel in Bougros. It shows fabulous intensity and depth in its round, generous fruit. This really fills out on the mid-palate and finish. The radiance of the fruit makes this one of the more approachable 2009 grand crus for near and mid-term drinking, although it may age quite a bit longer based on the sheer density of its fruit. Of the 2009 Clos Rougeard Saumur-Champigny,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "Tasted from multiple barrels (largely used Bordeaux First Growth and new handiwork from a local tonnelier), the materials for Clos Rougeard's basic 2009 Saumur-Champigny--from parcels on relatively clay-rich soil--were gassy from recent completion of malo but a wonderful combination of fresh, tart-edged blackberry and elderberry; tobacco-, peat- and black tea-like smokiness; along with chalk and iodine made for an intensely aromatic, palate-staining show that finished with vibrant interaction of meats, juicy berries, and minerals. Vinous: "Shafer's 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Hillside Select is all high notes. Sweet red plum and cherry notes meld into mint, spice and new leather, all supported by silky, polished tannins that add finesse to the plush fruit. Rich, opulent and beautifully textured throughout, the 2009 is going to provide fabulous, viscerally thrilling drinking pretty much right out of the gate. This is a great Hillside Select. Bid on this magnum lot of 2009 Domaine Dublère Volnay 1er Cru "Taillepieds" (1.5L) ((91-93BH)). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This offers yet another notch up in overall refinement, particularly on the equally perfumed and refined nose where the stone component is front and center on the high-toned and ultra-pure red pinot fruit and floral suffused nose. There is an equally strong mineral component to the detailed, energetic and precise flavors that possess ample mid-palate concentration that buffers the moderately austere finish. This is a classy and long effort that is perhaps a bit less Cistercian in character than usual but young Taillepieds is rarely ever open for business immediately." (05/2011)

This bottling is made from top vineyards in Barolo and La Morra. It has a gorgeous bouquet of rose, leather and a whiff of tar. Bid on this 12-bottle lot of 2009 Château de la Tour Clos Vougeot Grand Cru Vieilles Vignes (OWC - 95BH, 95ST) in original wood. Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good deep red with ruby highlights. Deep nose shows an almost roasted ripeness but also terrific lift to the aromas of black cherry, flowers, licorice, mint, wild herbs and orange peel. Like liquid velvet on entry, then highly concentrated but youthfully unforthcoming in the middle. This extremely long, palate-staining wine has the tannic force and balance to evolve in bottle for decades. Should be a cellar classic with time. (ST)" (03/2012)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2009 Domaine Henri Boillot Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru ((93-96ST)). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Red-ruby. Knockout nose combines dark berries, violet, bacon fat, smoke and pepper; I was reminded of a t opnotch Cote-Rotie. Lush and sweet but not quite as complex as the Chambertin and Clos de Beze. This offers extraordinary finesse and smoothness for Bonnes-Mares, with perfectly integrated acidity framing the flavors without introducing any edges to the wine. Finishes extremely long and sweet, with a subtle element of smoked meat. Boillot is convinced that this wine will shut down in bottle owing to its "tannic mass." (ST)" (01/2011)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Marcassin "Blue Slide Ridge" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (98RP, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The prodigious 2009 Pinot Noir Blue Slide Ridge reminds me of one of the great vintages of the DRC Vosne-Romanee. Notes of forest floor, jammy raspberries, blueberries, boysenberries and spring flowers are followed by a full-bodied, textured, layered mouthfeel, and great intensity, precision and freshness. This stunning 2009 is already showing considerable complexity, and should age effortlessly for 10-15 years. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Domaine de la Janasse Châteauneuf-du-Pape Vieilles Vignes (99RP, 95ST, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Chateauneuf du Pape Vieilles Vignes is considered by many observers in Chateauneuf du Pape to be the wine of the vintage, and it can most certainly be counted among the finest. A blend of 80% Grenache and the rest Syrah and Mourvedre tipping the scales at 15.5% natural alcohol (which is slightly less than the Chaupin), the wine has an inky black/purple color as well as incredible density and richness, with notes of soy, blackberry, and blueberry liqueur, incense, acacia flowers and licorice. The layered, full-bodied mouthfeel displays no heat, but the wine has massive concentration and a silky, smooth finish. Because of the low acidity in the 2009s, and sweet tannins, this has turned out to be a glorious example of Chateauneuf du Pape to drink over the next two decades. (RP)" (10/2011)

Of the 2009 Carlisle "Bedrock Vineyard" Sonoma Valley Mourvedre,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "The 2009 Mourvedre Bedrock Vineyard (100% Mourvedre with 15.4% alcohol) exhibits that varietal's floral, blueberry and porcini mushroom-like characteristics as well as full-bodied power, impressive ripeness and sweet tannin. Mourvedre is a difficult varietal, but this effort is ripe with silky tannins rather than vegetal with tea-tasting fruit and excessively astringent tannin. Of the 2007 Sea Smoke "Ten" Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir,Wine Enthusiast writes: " *Best of 2010, Cellar Selection* This very dense, tannic Pinot Noir represents a triumph for both the winery, the vintage and the region it represents. A multi-clone blend (hence the name) with high, cool-climate acidity and aged in 100% new oak, it’s still young, fresh and tight. The astringency throws a cloak over the raspberries, cherries, rosehip tea and Indian spice flavors, which reveal themselves only reluctantly. Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2009 Henri Boillot Chambertin Grand Cru ((94-97ST), 94BH). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright medium ruby, a bit less saturated than the Clos de Beze. Great wild, soil-inflected nose combines black raspberry, licorice, minerals, crushed stone, leather, mocha, spices and game, all lifted by a pungent peppery nuance. The palate offers utterly compelling sappy sweetness, with outstanding energy to its extremely intense but primary flavors. Combines great power with an essentially gentle character. Tasted in a lineup of exceptional Walla Walla reds, it outshined them all. It’s a sophisticated blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot and Merlot, from the Figgins Vineyard, with gorgeous aromas of flowers, spices and black fruits. It is simply brimming with berries from the first, and, while fully ripe, it is not in the least bit overdone. Sappy and penetrating, offering sweet cherry compote and cassis flavors and bracing minerality. Puts on weight with air and finishes with firm tannic grip and lingering floral and spice elements. By all means give this wine at least five more years of age. (JR)" (09/2012)

Of the 2009 Domaine de la Janasse "Chaupin" Châteauneuf-du-Pape,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "One of my favorites was already the 2009 Chateauneuf du Pape Chaupin (which is always aged in foudres and 600-liter demi-muids, two-thirds in the former and one-third in the latter) and this wine has really put on richness and intensity since I tasted it last year. An absolutely magnificent wine, it scored a good four points higher this year, and it is unusual for me to vary that much from one tasting to the next. Tipping the scales at 15% natural alcohol, this dense purple wine has noble sweetness and an extraordinary concentration of lavender, black cherry liqueur, licorice, and minerality. Full-bodied, with silky tannins, a mult

Bid on this bottle of 2009 Rudd "Oakville Estate" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (93RP, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The estate's 2009 Proprietary Red Rudd Estate wraps around the palate with silky dark fruit. Layered, sweet and sensual, the 2009 is laced with attractive scents of mocha, cloves and violets, all of which add complexity to the dark fruit. The 2009 needs a few years to soften, but ultimately it stands out for its textured personality and terrific balance. This undeniably appealing wine is likely to be at its best over the next 10-15 years, give or take. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2029. (AG)" (12/2012)

2009 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2009 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (99RP, 98WE, 96WS, 95ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon (98% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Merlot) is a ripe, flamboyant and brilliantly proportioned effort that oozes kirsch, licorice, lead pencil shavings and dried spice on the nose. Showing the perfume and headiness of the vintage, it nevertheless stays vibrant and lively on the palate while delivering layers of fruit and texture. While formidably structured and tannic, it can be enjoyed now due to the overall tannin quality and purity of fruit. It will evolve and drink well for over two decades. (JD)" (06/2013)

Of the 2010 Cayuse "Flying Pig" Walla Walla Valley Bordeaux Blend,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "Moving away from the Rhones-styled efforts and the most up-front and perfumed of the Bordeaux blends (just ahead of the Widowmaker), the 2010 Flying Pig is a Cabernet Franc-dominated blend that incorporates 37% Merlot and 13% Cabernet Sauvignon into the blend. Loaded with notions of cassis, dried flowers, saline-like minerality, exotic spice and damp earth, it flows onto the palate with a juicy, brilliantly focused profile, with a core of sweet fruit, full-bodied richness and no hard edges. Give it 3-4 years to fill out and enjoy it over the following decade. (JD)" (06/2013)

Allen Meadows - Burghound: "*** Sweet Spot - Outstanding *** An earthy and mildly sauvage nose showcases a very ripe liqueur of cassis and black cherry aromatic profile that gives way to textured and densely concentrated medium weight plus flavors that exude dry extract on the moderately austere, powerful and mineral-driven finish. This should be excellent in time though note that patience is a key requisite." (01/2011)

2009 O'Shaughnessy Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2009 O'Shaughnessy Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon (94RP, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain is all minerals, graphite and pure Howell Mountain. Layers of dark red fruit come to life in this articulate, pedigreed Cabernet Sauvignon. The 2009 needs another few years in the bottle, but it is already quite striking, especially with some time in the glass. Saline notes frame the long finish. The 2009 is 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Malbec, 5% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot, 5% St. Macaire and 2% Cabernet Franc. Anticipated maturity: 2017-2029. This is a thrilling set of wines from the gregarious Betty O’Shaughnessy and her winemaker Sean Capiaux. The Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon includes a host of other varieties, while the Mt. Veeder bottling is 100% Cabernet. Both wines spend 20 months in French oak barrels and are bottled without fining or filtration. 94+ (AG)" (12/2011)

Very ripe aromas of wild raspberry and mocha complicated by a minerality that's rare for the vintage. A creamy-sweet essence of red berries on the palate, with excellent harmonious acidity giving energy to the middle palate. Has the concentration to support its substantial tannins on the superb mounting finish. Shows the fleshiness of 2009 in spades. (ST)" (03/2012)

2009 Screaming Eagle Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2009 Screaming Eagle Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (98VN, 97WS, 96RP, 96ST). Vinous: "Once again, the 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon pays homage to the 2007, but the aromas and flavors seems to be just a touch brighter, which might just be a function of the wine's age. A wine of remarkable precision, the 2009 is totally dialed in from start to finish. Layers of intensely sweet, perfumed fruit are woven together with remarkable elegance and sheer polish. Today, the 2009 isn't quite as radiant as it has been in the past, and seems headed for a stubborn phase. It is still striking, though. Even if a bit less exotic than the 2007, the two wines share a silkiness and overall sense of textural finesse. A translucent, weightless finish rounds things out in style. The 2009 is 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Cabernet Franc and 5% Merlot. (AG)" (12/2012)

2009 Sine Qua Non "Upside Down" Grenache
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Sine Qua Non "Upside Down" Grenache (96RP, 95ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Grenache Upside Down emerges from the glass with layers of dark red fruit as it sweeps across the palate. There is an inner sweetness and sheer depth that make the 2009 compelling. The 11% Syrah and 5% Mourvedre make themselves heard clearly in adding layers of depth and pure richness. Tar, anise and graphite meld together on the rich, dramatic finish. This is a striking wine endowed with tons of pure textural dimension. The 2009 was sourced from Eleven Confessions (72%), Cumulus (22%) and Bien Nacido (6%) vineyards. (AG)" (04/2012)

It shows gorgeous depth and radiance in its fruit. Bright floral notes and an underpinning of vibrant minerality give the wine considerable lift and brightness. Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2009 Billaud-Simon Chablis Grand Cru "Les Blanchots" Vieille Vignes ((92-95BH)). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Billaud is of the belief that Blanchot is the most mineral-dominated cru in Chablis, indeed so much so that it can be a brutal and violent wine that must be 'tamed' by the wood, hence the different vinification philosophy; the Billaud vines directly abut Les Clos). Billaud indicated that this would be bottled in late June or early July. A moderately toasty nose does not dominate the white flower, citrus, stone and seaweed-infused aromas that marry into rich, intense and impressively concentrated big-bodied though not necessarily overtly muscular flavors that also brim with ample amounts of palate coating dry extract on the dazzlingly persistent finish." Bid on this magnum lot of 2009 Cos d'Estournel, St-Estèphe (1.5L) (100JS, 100RP, 97WS, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the greatest young wines I have ever tasted, the monumental 2009 Cos d’Estournel has lived up to its pre-bottling potential. A remarkable effort from winemaking guru Jean-Guillaume Prats and owner Michel Reybier, this blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Merlot (33%) and a touch of Cabernet Franc (2%) was cropped at 33 hectoliters per hectare. It boasts an inky/black/purple color along with an extraordinary bouquet of white flowers interwoven with blackberry and blueberry liqueur, incense, charcoal and graphite. The wine hits the palate with extraordinary purity, balance and intensity as well as perfect equilibrium, and a seamless integration of tannin, acidity, wood and alcohol. An iconic wine as well as a remarkable achievement, it is the greatest Cos d’Estournel ever produced. It is approachable enough at present that one could appreciate it wi
