2009 Saxum "Bone Rock - James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Saxum "Bone Rock - James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (94RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Bone Rock is a round, enticing red laced with sweet, succulent dark cherries, plums, flowers and spices. It shows remarkable intensity and fabulous balance. Bone Rock is made from the first blocks planted in the James Berry vineyard and is predominantly Syrah, while the James Berry Vineyard (the wine) is Grenache focused. In 2009 the blend was 57% Syrah, 31% Mourvedre and 12% Grenache. The Syrah component was vinified with 100% stems and saw a maceration lasting 50 days. The wine was aged in 60% new oak. Smith bottled the 2009 in May 2011, earlier than the norm (around 30 months), as he wanted to preserve the freshness he had in the tannins. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2021. (AG)" (08/2011)

2009 Benziger Estate "Tribute" Sonoma Mountain Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2009 Benziger Estate "Tribute" Sonoma Mountain Bordeaux Blend. "Tribute" is Benziger's 100% estate-grown and vinified Bordeaux-style blend from their Demeter certified biodynamic estate on Sonoma Mountain. It was the first Demeter certified wine from Sonoma County, and among the first in the country. The vintage saw reduced yields with less than average rainfall, and some cool weather that helped to preserve the grapes' natural acidity while keeping the alcohol in check. In keeping with biodynamic principals, this wine was fermented by all native yeasts. It was raised for twenty months in 40% new French oak. Benziger says it's "the most elegant Tribute to date." 81% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc, 9% Petit Verdot.

2009 Donelan "Cuvée Keltie" Sonoma County Syrah
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Donelan "Cuvée Keltie" Sonoma County Syrah (98RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Also remarkable, the 2009 Cuvee Keltie leans more toward a Chave style of Hermitage, particularly their Cuvee Cathelin. An inky/black color is followed by abundant notes of creme de cassis, roast beef, blackberries, bouquet garni and graphite. This extremely full-bodied, dense 2009 saturates the palate with intensity, and the finish lasts for nearly 60 seconds. This gorgeous 2009 should drink well for 15+ years. 98+ (RP)" (12/2013)

Layers of fruit build to an effortless, huge finish long on texture and pure class. This voluptuous, highly expressive Cabernet Sauvignon is likely to drink well earlier than the 2010, but it also has the pedigree to age gracefully for years. Of the 2010 Big Basin Vineyards "Rattlesnake Rock" Santa Cruz Mountains Syrah,Vinous writes: "Dark red cherries, wild flowers, smoke, tobacco and savory herbs are some of the many notes that flesh out in the 2010 Syrah Rattlesnake Rock. Here the fruit is quite a bit redder in tonality than in the other 2010 Big Basin Syrahs because of the presence of 11% Grenache in the blend. Wild and constantly changing in the glass, the Rattlesnake Rock is bursting with complexity, nuance and pedigree. Bright floral and savory notes punctuate the finish. I can't wait to taste the Rattlesnake with a little more bottle age. (AG)" (07/2013)

This wine has more honeysuckle, orange blossom, nectarine notes, with a hint of tropical fruit. Outstanding* A restrained yet perfumed nose is the essence of wet stone and ripe Pinot, all trimmed in dried floral notes. Like the Mitans, this is also positively crystalline as the flavors seem to be composed from liquid rock and deliver positively huge length along with the hallmark finishing austerity of a young Taillepieds. Of the 2009 Saxum "Paderewski Vineyard" Paso Robles Red Blend,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "The 2009 Paderewski Vineyard is a new bottling from a site Smith developed for Bill and Liz Armstrong, the owners of Epoch. Zinfandel, Syrah, Petit Sirah and Mourvedre are planted in separate plots but co-fermented. Layers of dark fruit meld into flowers, mint, sweet spices, menthol, eucalyptus and plums, with marvelous density and harmony. This shows superb aromatic complexity and tons of nuance to match its absolutely striking personality. It is a dazzling effort, especially for a young vineyard in just its third leaf. 2009 Screaming Eagle Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2009 Screaming Eagle Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (OWC - 98VN, 97WS, 96RP, 96ST) in original wood. Vinous: "Once again, the 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon pays homage to the 2007, but the aromas and flavors seems to be just a touch brighter, which might just be a function of the wine's age. A wine of remarkable precision, the 2009 is totally dialed in from start to finish. Layers of intensely sweet, perfumed fruit are woven together with remarkable elegance and sheer polish. Today, the 2009 isn't quite as radiant as it has been in the past, and seems headed for a stubborn phase. It is still striking, though. Even if a bit less exotic than the 2007, the two wines share a silkiness and overall sense of textural finesse. A translucent, weightless finish rounds things out in style. The 2009 is 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Cabernet Franc and 5% Merlot. (AG)" (12/2012)

Showing the perfume and headiness of the vintage, it nevertheless stays vibrant and lively on the palate while delivering layers of fruit and texture. While formidably structured and tannic, it can be enjoyed now due to the overall tannin quality and purity of fruit. It will evolve and drink well for over two decades. (JD)" (06/2013)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Light gold in color, with an extraordinary nose of poached pears, citrus honey and a touch of orange rind, the 2009 Chardonnay Marcassin Vineyard has beautiful fruit, a full-bodied mouthfeel, penetrating acids and an underlying minerality and richness. The finish goes on for a good 40-45 seconds. This is sensational Chardonnay and very much in keeping with this vineyard. Drink now-2020. (RP)" (08/2015)

Of the 2012 Saxum "Broken Stones" Paso Robles Rhône Blend,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "The 2012 Syrah Broken Stones is a beauty. Made from 79% Syrah, 7% Petite Sirah and the rest Grenache, Mourvedre and Roussanne, it offers up full-bodied, decadent, yet incredibly pure notes of creme de cassis, smoked earth, pepper and violets. Seamless and silky, yet with a great mid-palate and notable tannin, it needs 2-3 years of bottle age and will have 15 years or more of overall longevity. (JD)" (08/2015)

Bid on this bottle of 2009 Hundred Acre "Few & Far Between" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (96WS, 94RP, 93ST). Wine Spectator: "Defined by rich, plush, silky flavors of dark berry and mocha, this is remarkably elegant and polished, deep and persistent, gliding along with a seamless texture and a long, saturating finish. 2009 Marcassin "Marcassin Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Marcassin "Marcassin Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (98RP, 97WS, 92VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Pinot Noir Marcassin Vineyard is a gorgeous, clearly California version of a grand cru from Burgundy, such as Clos Saint-Denis or Clos de la Roche. This deep plum/garnet-colored wine offers intense berry fruit along with forest floor, spice box, earth and loads of plum, cherry and strawberry notes, moving toward darker fruits, as well as earthy, autumnal, foresty scents. The wine is full-bodied, with great intensity, sweet tannins and good acidity. Drink it over the next decade or more. (RP)" (08/2015)

2009 Domaine de Montille Pommard 1er Cru "Pézerolles" (375ml)
Bid on this 6-half-bottle lot of 2009 Domaine de Montille Pommard 1er Cru "Pézerolles" (375ml) ((91-93BH), 93RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Pommard Les Pezerolles is rich, round and seductive. Layers of fruit caress the palate in this enveloping, textured Burgundy. There is plenty of intensity in the glass. Hints of hard candy and licorice wrap around the finish. The Pezerolles was made with 100% destemmed fruit. Although I like the wine’s frank immediacy, I also think it will age gracefully. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2029. (AG)" (04/2012)

Of the 2009 Rhys "Swan Terrace - Alpine Vineyard" Santa Cruz Mountains Pinot Noir,Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar writes: "Bright ruby. Pure, expressive red fruit and floral aromas are complicated by star anise, cinnamon and allspice, with a lively mineral undertone adding vivacity. Impressively precise in the mouth, offering sappy strawberry and raspberry flavors and an intensely spicy character. The finish features a note of candied flowers and hangs on with outstanding tenacity. Remarkably delineated and vibrant Pinot Noir. (ST)" (06/2011)

2009 Domaine Louis Jadot Bonnes Mares Grand Cru
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2009 Domaine Louis Jadot Bonnes Mares Grand Cru (95RP, 94ST, 93BH, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Bonnes-Mares is another wine that is showing very little of its potential today. Black cherries, cassis, licorice, graphite and spices are some of the many notes that emerge from this powerful, super-intense Burgundy. The finish turns implosive and incredibly mineral. This, too, should be a jewel when it awakens from its current state of dormancy. The 2009 is at once sensual yet powerful. In other words, it captures the nuance, complexity and pedigree of this site to the maximum. Anticipated maturity: 2019-2039. (AG)" (04/2012)

2009 Joseph Phelps "Insignia" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2009 Joseph Phelps "Insignia" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (96WE, 95VN, 94ST, 92JS, 91W&S, 91WS, 90RP). Wine Enthusiast: "This wine continues a long-standing tradition, showing a mastery of the art of blending. It's made using grapes that are sourced from at least six vineyards scattered from Yountville to St. Helena. Right out of the bottle, it's a soft, smoothly tannic wine that's rich in blackberry jam, black currant, blueberry, raspberry, dark chocolate and spice flavors. The wine, which contains small amounts of Petit Verdot and Malbec, is so powerful, it easily carries the 100% new French oak. Just gorgeous now, and it should develop bottle complexity for at least the next 10 years." (12/2012)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe "La Crau" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (94WS, 93ST, 92RP). Wine Spectator: "This is crammed with fruit, spice and structure, as braised fig, plum skin, cassis and anise notes wrestle with roasted apple wood, melted red licorice and tar for now. The embedded grip should carry the finish until this assimilates fully. Best from 2014 through 2024. (JM)" (10/2011)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2009 Hudelot Noellat Vosne-Romanee 1er Cru "Les Beaux Monts" ((91-93BH), 90RP). Allen Meadows - Burghound: " *Outstanding* This too is very Vosne in basic character with mild wood influence as well on the wonderfully spicy, cooler and more elegant blue and black berry fruit aromas cut with plenty of mineral influence that carries over to the rich, intense and vibrant middle weight flavors that are given shape and firmness by the fine tannins, all wrapped in a long finish that displays an abundance of underlying tension." 2009 Clinet, Pomerol (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 2009 Clinet, Pomerol (1.5L) (100RP, 96JS, 94WS, 93ST, 92WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Clinet has been on a hot streak lately and the 2009 appears to be the greatest wine ever made at the estate, surpassing even the late Jean-Michel Arcaute's monumental 1989. A blend of 85% Merlot and tiny amounts of Cabernet Franc (12%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (3%), this big Pomerol boasts an opaque, moonless night inky/blue/purple color in addition to a gorgeous perfume of blueberry pie, incense, truffles, black raspberries, licorice and wood smoke. Viscous and multi-dimensional with silky, sweet tannin, massive fruit concentration and full-bodied power, there are nearly 4,000 cases of this thick, juicy, perfect Clinet. It should drink well in 3-5 years and keep for 25-30. (RP)" (02/2012)

2009 Domaine Comte de Vogüé Musigny Grand Cru "Vieilles Vignes"
Bid on this bottle of 2009 Domaine Comte de Vogüé Musigny Grand Cru "Vieilles Vignes" ((94-97RP), 96BH, 95ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Musigny Vieilles Vignes fleshes out beautifully with endless layers of fruit that caress the palate in stunning style. Sweet floral notes meld into expressive dark red fruit in this mysterious, evocative Burgundy. There is a weightless intensity to the Musigny that is achingly gorgeous. Waves of flavor continue to build towards the sexy, racy finish as the 2009 shows off its pedigree. The 2009 will always be an exuberant Musigny, but time in bottle will help shed some of the baby fat. This is likely to be a great, great wine for several decades. Anticipated maturity: 2024-2039. 2009 Domaine Jean Grivot Richebourg Grand Cru
Bid on this bottle of 2009 Domaine Jean Grivot Richebourg Grand Cru (97BH, 96ST, 94RP). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This is also on the restrained side with a discreet nose that features a spicy, cool, ripe and elegant nose of primarily blue and black pinot fruit and wet stone nuances that continue onto the focused, powerful and substantial broad-shouldered flavors that possess superb mid-palate concentration and flat out amazing length. Grivot told me that the 2009 version of his Richebourg is the best that he has ever made and from my perspective, I agree as even the amazing 2005 did not show as well at the same point in its evolution. In a word, brilliant" (01/2012)
