1990 Latour, Pauillac
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1990 Latour, Pauillac (100WS, 98ST, 95RP). Wine Spectator: "This is one of my favorite wines ever. Full-bodied, with layers of silky fruit and masses of currant, mineral and berry character. Amazing. It's a wine with perfect structure, perfect strength. It's 1961 Latour in modern clothes. It's hard not to drink it now." (02/2005)

Bid on this bottle of 1996 Domaine Meo-Camuzet Richebourg Grand Cru ((93-95RP), (92-95ST), 95WS, 94BH). Wine Spectator: "Ripe and balanced, offering wet earth, mineral, smoke and red berry complexity, this is superbly intense on the finish, with a round, velvety mouthfeel. Grows on you as it kicks into high gear, rockets to a beautiful finish. This grand cru from Jean-Nicolas Méo tastes sweeter and more hedonistic than his minerally Clos de Vougeot, but both get the same classic rating. (PM)" (09/1998)

2004 Shafer "Hillside Select" Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2004 Shafer "Hillside Select" Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon (100WE, 99RP, 96WS, 95VN, 95W&S, 93CG). Wine Enthusiast: "A perfect score has to be considered in the context of its region. Shafer’s 2004 Hillside Select is tremendous as a Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon that competes with its peers at the highest levels. It’s always a fabulous wine, but in warm 2004, Shafer’s amphitheater vineyard sheltered the grapes, ripening them to perfection yet protecting the “iron fist in a velvet glove” structure that André Tchelistcheff defined as Stags Leap. This 100% Cabernet is tremendous in cassis, black currant and mocha flavors, and the 100% new French oak provides perfect additions of smoke and caramel. It’s soft and gorgeous enough to drink now, and should age well in a cool cellar for the next 20 years." (03/2009)

1998 Monbousquet, St-Émilion (6L)
Bid on this 6L-bottle lot of 1998 Monbousquet, St-Émilion (6L) (94RP, (90-91ST), 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Yields of 28-30 hectoliters per hectare are among the lowest in St.-Emilion, which no doubt accounts for the wine's explosive richness. The final blend, 60% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 10% Cabernet Franc, was bottled unfined and unfiltered after 18 months in 100% new oak, with aging on the lees. It boasts a saturated plum/purple color in addition to an exotic bouquet of Asian spices, plum liqueur, prunes, and blackberries. Extremely full-bodied, unctuously-textured, structured, and well-defined, this spectacular achievement will drink well young, yet last for two decades. (RP)" (04/2001)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Pinot Noir Marcassin Vineyard is a slightly tighter style of Pinot Noir, and lighter than the 2009. There is more acidity showing through, the fruit offering up various red and black fruits from pomegranate to plum to cassis, dark sweet cherries as well as foresty underbrush notes. Bid on this bottle of 2000 Margaux, Margaux (100JS, 100RP, 99WS, 98ST, 98W&S). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Medium-bodied, with layers of concentration, stunning blue, red, and black fruits intermixed with spring flowers, a subtle dosage of new oak, and a distinctive personality that is elegant while at the same time powerful and substantial, this is a multi-dimensional wine that was extremely approachable and drinkable in both tastings I had of it. The color remains a healthy, even opaque bluish/purple, but there is no reason to hesitate to drink it. It should evolve for another 30-40 years, so there is no hurry either. (RP)" (06/2010)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Approaching perfection, this wine is inky, bluish/purple-colored to the rim, offering up notes of incense, blueberry and blackberry liqueur, licorice, graphite and spring flowers. A touch of roasted espresso bean is also present. The wine has great concentration, a magnificent, full-bodied mouthfeel, stunning purity, and well-integrated acidity, tannin, alcohol and wood. This beauty seems to be in mid-adolescence with at least 25-30 years of life ahead." (08/2015)

Bid on this magnum of 2013 Scarecrow Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (OWC - 100RP, (95-97VN)) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The prodigious 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, including fruit from some of the oldest Cabernet vines still in existence in Napa. This full-bodied classic displays notes of forest floor, earth, crème de cassis, blackberry liqueur, licorice and some pen ink. It is dense, full-bodied, prodigiously rich, massive in intensity, yet relatively light on its feet. This great ballerina of a wine has extraordinary ripeness but pulls back from the edge before going over the top. There are 1,000 cases of this classic, which should age effortlessly for 30+ years. 1999 Bertrand Ambroise Corton Grand Cru "Le Rognet"
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 1999 Bertrand Ambroise Corton Grand Cru "Le Rognet" ((94-97RP), 92ST, 91BH). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The intense, black-colored 1999 Corton Le Rognet reveals black fruit, fresh herb, and Asian spice aromas. Ambroise generally produces 32 hectoliters per hectare from his 0.7 hectares of vines in this grand cru. In 1999, however, he harvested 40 hectoliters per hectare at 14.5% natural potential alcohol. This is a monster of a wine, crammed with blackberries, road tar, cherries, kirsch, and a myriad of spices. Its loads of exquisitely ripened tannins are soaked in sweet, candied fruits. This powerful, chewy offering coats the taster's palate and lasts for almost a minute. It is, at present, unformed, yet will become civilized with cellaring. (PR)" (06/2001)

Wine Spectator: " Lovely berry, spice and leather aromas follow through to a medium- to full-bodied palate, with firm and silky tannins and a long, caressing finish. A harmonious wine. 1999 Domaine Anne Gros Richebourg Grand Cru
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1999 Domaine Anne Gros Richebourg Grand Cru (96RP, 94BH, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Here is another great wine from Anne Gros, which will reward those with the patience and nouse to cellar for an extended period. The 1999 Richebourg Grand Cru is backward and reticent on the nose, but it only takes a few swirls of the glass and it reveals gorgeous black cherry and raspberry fruit mixed with a hint of dark chocolate from some residual new oak that will be subsumed. The palate is medium-bodied with fine acidity. There is a smorgasbord of lush raspberry and wild strawberry fruit cloaked in new oak, but the wood does not obscure the grape variety or vineyard, allowing the character of the wine to be expressed with hints of white pepper sprinkled over the finish. What a great Richebourg, but one that I would actually afford another five years in the cellar. This is long-term. (NM)" (11/2015)

1999 Domaine Cathiard Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru "Aux Malconsorts"
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1999 Domaine Cathiard Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru "Aux Malconsorts" (94BH). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Though there are some mature notes in evidence, the expressive nose is still relatively primary with wonderfully spicy yet subtle aromas of black fruit, hoisin and soy that give way to rich, seductive flavors that are supported by rounded and ripe tannins, all wrapped in a gorgeously complex and highly persistent finish. While this could certainly be enjoyed now, for my taste I would suggest continuing to hold for a few more years. Either way, this is a very special Malconsorts that should continue to impress for many years to come. In a word, terrific." (07/2013)

1999 Domaine Cathiard Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru "Les Suchots"
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 1999 Domaine Cathiard Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru "Les Suchots". Cilve Coates ranks the Suchots climat as grand cru quality, saying: "Les Suchots occupies a flattenned egg sort of mound between Richebourg and Romanée-Saint-Vivant, and Echézeaux, and is the largest of the Vosne-Romanée premiers crus. There are just over 13 hectares. This is the most noble of all the first growths. In the best hands we really do get grand cru quality. The wine is full bodied, less lush than Brulées, less finely spirited (in a racehorse sense) than Beaumonts, but of great breeding nonetheless." He also recommends Domaine Cathiard as one to seek out.

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1999 Domaine Comte de Vogüé Musigny Grand Cru Vieilles Vignes (96BH, 95ST, 93WS, (90-92RP)). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "In contrast to the general style of the vintage, this is still aromatically austere though with coaxing, reveals wonderfully complex aromas of a simply incredible array of black fruits, earth, spice, crushed herbs and notes of chocolate with flavors that are huge but fine, powerful but subtle and rich yet detailed with a stupendously long finish that offers intense minerality. This is genuinely stunning juice and not to be missed if you have the chance. Tasted multiple times with consistent notes save for one recent bottle that displayed a lot of volatile acidity that may have been due to a faulty cork." (09/2012)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2012 Kosta Browne "One Sixteen" Russian River Valley Chardonnay (93RP, 92ST, 91VN, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A gorgeous Chardonnay, the 2012 One Sixteen offers both incredibly classy elegance, as well as building richness and texture. Ripe stone fruits, lemon curd, white flowers, liquid mineral, brioche and toast all emerge from the glass, and this beauty has a medium to full-bodied, elegant, taut and energetic profile on the palate that keeps you coming back to the glass. Staying lively and refreshing, with vibrant acidity, this beauty will age gracefully for over a decade (although bottles would not last that long at my house)." (10/2014)

2013 Aubert "UV Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2013 Aubert "UV Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (96RP, 94VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The rich, prodigious, full-bodied 2013 Pinot Noir UV, made from the Calera and Vosne-Romanée clones, is a denser, richer wine offering abundant notes of blueberries, blackberries, forest floor and strong hints of Asian hoisin sauce, dark fruits and forest floor. There are approximately 1,000 cases of this sensational Pinot, which Mark Aubert decanted 12 hours in advance of my visit. There is not a trace of new oak in this wine, which spent 10 months in 100% new barrels. Like all the 2013 Pinot Noirs, it has a decade or more of aging potential." (12/2014)

Of the 1985 Caymus "Special Selection" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "Although outstanding, Caymus's 1985 did not live up to expectations in this tasting. It reveals a lavishly oaked, smoky, jammy, blackcurrant-scented nose, sweet, round, glycerin-imbued, full-bodied flavors, and excellent purity, ripeness, and length. Of the 1994 Peter Michael "Les Pavots" Knights Valley Bordeaux Blend,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "The superb 1994 Les Pavots is, to my palate, the finest example of this wine Peter Michael has yet made. Since its bottling, this deep, saturated purple-colored wine has taken on a gorgeous nose of cassis intermixed with violets, licorice, and attractive spicy oak. Sweet, rich, and surprisingly showy for a Les Pavots, this medium to full-bodied wine possesses a luscious, multi-layered texture, outstanding depth, and attractively integrated tannin and acidity. 2001 Pride Mountain "Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2001 Pride Mountain "Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (98RP, 97WS, 94VN, 90CG). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Remarkably, the 2001 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon may be even better. Staggeringly pure notes of creme de cassis, violets, licorice and graphite soar from the glass of this inky/purple-colored wine. Composed of 98% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Petit Verdot, and tasting like it is 2-3 years old, it is a stunningly pure, rich, full-bodied, prodigious example of high elevation mountain Cabernet Sauvignon that will not reach full maturity for another 5-7 years, and should age beautifully for another two decades or more. It is a magical wine to smell, taste and contemplate. These impressive 2001s from Pride Mountain Vineyards were made during the regime of Bob Foley and the late Jim Pride. Bid on this bottle of 2006 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (98WE, 96RP, 95ST, 94WS). Wine Enthusiast: "The 2006 flagship Cabernet from Quilceda Creek is a massive wine that has just begun to emerge from its slumber. When first released the wine seemed to have entered a dumb phase, but six months later it responds to decanting and shows its muscle. Fruit flavors of black, brandied cherries, cassis and bourbon-soaked plums are wrapped in generous, layered oak. The wine is dusty, smoky, laced with streaks of licorice and brightened with sharp acids. It continues to expand further in the glass, adding flesh and spice to its frame, with a cedar/cigar box finish." (03/2010)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 Saxum "Bone Rock - James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Syrah (99RP, 97VN, 96ST, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: " Coming from a steep, terraced plot of head-trained Syrah, the 2010 James Berry Vineyard Bone Rock (90% Syrah and 10% Roussanne) is easily the most structured, intense wine in the lineup. Sporting absolutely off-the-hook aromas of smoked meats, black fruits, liquid mineral, pepper, and cigar wrapper, it flows onto the palate with a thick, incredibly rich texture that somehow manages to stay light and fresh. A total behemoth, it needs time to fully flesh out, yet is up there with some of the most monumental young wines I’ve tasted. It should be forgotten for 3-4 years, and then consumed over the following two decades. (JD)" (07/2014)

2006 Hundred Acre "Kayli Morgan" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2006 Hundred Acre "Kayli Morgan" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (99RP, 96ST, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Wow! I can’t say I underrated this wine, but, boy, it is pushing perfection ... and pushing it quickly. A nearly flawless, monumental effort, the 2006 boasts an extraordinary opaque purple color as well as a sumptuous bouquet of spring flowers, licorice, chocolate, toffee, espresso roast and blackberries. This multilayered wine is built like a skyscraper, with terrific intensity, but no heaviness, stunning richness, full body and great purity. With a youthful, voluptuous mouthfeel, it can be drunk now for its extraordinary purity of fruit, but it will not hit its prime for at least a decade. It should keep for three decades. In the mouth, more white chocolate notes appear, along with meatiness and some silky tannins. Its great purity, density and richness make me think this wine could even improve a few points and flirt with perfection. (RP)" (08/2011)

2012 Rochioli "West Block" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2012 Rochioli "West Block" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir ((93-96RP), 94ST, 94VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Pinot Noir West Block is the most structured, backward and brooding of these offerings. It possesses tremendous density as well as potential with a very high ceiling in front of it, but it was much more difficult to evaluate. The color is deep, and the wine has a significant sense of weight and richness in the mouth, but the finish is loaded with tannin and extract. Hints of underbrush, wet gravel and black fruits are noticeable, but this wine needs 2-3 years of cellaring. It should easily last more than a decade. (RP)" (12/2013)

2010 Domaine Nicolas Rossignol Volnay 1er Cru "Chevret"
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2010 Domaine Nicolas Rossignol Volnay 1er Cru "Chevret" (94BH, 90ST). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A beautiful array of floral nuances that include rose petal, lavender and violet adds elegance to the restrained, airy and cool red currant aromas. The understated and equally restrained medium-bodied flavors culminate in an exceptionally pure and tension-filled finish that is pure silk. This lacy and strikingly beautiful effort is a classic Volnay as the palate impression is gossamer fine yet this will need plenty of cellar time. (AM)" (04/2012)

It’s medium to full-bodied, lively, and should drink well for another 3-4 years. (RP)" (10/2014)

2002 Moet & Chandon "Cuvée Dom Pérignon" Brut Champagne (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 2002 Moet & Chandon "Cuvée Dom Pérignon" Brut Champagne (1.5L) (98VN, 96W&S, 95RP, 95WS). Vinous: "The 2002 Dom Pérignon speaks to opulence and intensity. Rich, layered and voluptuous in the glass, the 2002 shows off its flamboyant personality with flair. Butter, cooked apple and tropically-leaning fruits mesh together effortlessly. Interestingly, with time in the glass the 2002 gains in freshness and energy without losing its essential opulence. The elevated ripeness of the year gives the 2002 Dom Pérignon distinctly Puligny-Montrachet leaning inflections. Chef de Caves Richard Geoffroy adds that August that year was hot and very dry. Rain towards the end of the month and into early September freshened the vines and accelerated the final phase of ripening. This is yet another fabulous showing from the 2002, which continues to cement its reputation as a truly epic Dom Pérignon. (AG)" (10/2015)

2011 Thomas Dundee Hills Pinot Noir
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2011 Thomas Dundee Hills Pinot Noir (93VN). Vinous: "Vivid red. Smoky, mineral-laced aromas of redcurrant, cherry pit, succulent flowers and orange pith. Sappy and penetrating on the palate, offering intense red and dark berry and floral pastille flavors sharpened by zesty acidity. Packs a serious punch and comes off as energetic and lithe, with slowly building tannins giving shape to a long finish tinged with flowers and earth. Here’s an example of a 2011 that offers the vivacity that fans of the vintage love but none of the greenness that plagues many ‘11s It's little wonder that so many Burgundy aficionados, this writer included, count this small producer as one of their favorite New World sources for Pinot Noir. It tastes as if it hasn’t changed since I first sampled it in late 2003 and then again in bottle two years later. Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1990 Louis Jadot Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru (96RP, 92WS, 91BH). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Chambertin-Clos de Beze gets my nod as the wine in the Jadot portfolio that should hit the highest peak in quality and pleasure. It needs at least 5-7 years in the cellar, and has the potential to last for 25 or more years. The color is a saturated dark ruby/purple, and the closed nose offers sweet, jammy aromas framed by noticeable smoky new oak. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Abreu "Thorevilos" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (OWC - 98RP, 97VN) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Thorevilos displays a stunningly blue/purple color along with an exceptional nose of blueberry and blackberry liqueur intermixed with espresso, white chocolate and violets. With unbelievable intensity, a great, full-bodied mouthfeel, stunning purity, a subtle hint of wood, but no hard edges, this is one 2009 that does not have that broodingly tannic structure that is common in this vintage. Bid on this 3-magnum lot of 2011 Domaine de Montille Volnay 1er Cru "Les Mitans" (1.5L) (92BH, (90-92ST)). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "(100% vendange entier; 20% new oak; small, concentrated berries from old vines): Good medium red. Lovely subtle perfume of cherry and raspberry liqueur lifted by a peppery element. Sweet, dense and lively but restrained on the palate, with distinctly dark flavors of blueberry, licorice and bitter chocolate. The brooding finish features broad, palate-coating tannins. I like the peppery stem element here as it contributes energy without overpowering the wine's fruit. (ST)" (01/2013)
