Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2011 Cayuse "Armada Vineyard" Walla Walla Valley Syrah (OWC - 97RP, 94WS, 93ST, 93WE) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: " Even better, the 2011 Syrah Armada is probably my favorite of the 2011s. Deep, rich and layered, with phenomenal black plum, damp earth, pepper, mushroom, charcuterie and spice-driven aromas and flavors, this beauty tastes like the essence of this unique terroir. Full-bodied, rich and layered, it too should flesh out beautifully with short-term cellaring and have upwards of two decades of longevity. (JD)" (06/2014)

Bid on this magnum lot of 1997 Domaine Bouchard Pere & Fils Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru (1.5L) (93ST, (90-92RP), 91BH). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Green-tinged pale color. Classy aromas of tangy grapefruit, pear eau de vie and minerals. Dense, pure, ripe and delineated; vibrant, pristine citrus, spice and stony flavors. Firm and brisk but creamy at the core, in the style of the vintage. Palate-staining finish features almost painful grip. (ST)" (09/1999)

Bid on this bottle of 2004 Domaine du Comte Liger-Belair Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru "Les Chaumes" (94RP, 90BH, 90ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Pale ruby-brick colour. Very enticing ripe cherry, violet and cinnamon aromas on the nose with a hint of bacon fat. This is quite a structured style with a medium+ level of finely grained tannins and high level of acidity balancing the good concentration of spiced berry fruit. Very long finish with lingering notes of minerals and cloves. (LPB)" (05/2009)

2012 Sine Qua Non "Stock" Central Coast Syrah
Bid on this bottle of 2012 Sine Qua Non "Stock" Central Coast Syrah (98RP, 96VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A step up from the Grenache, the blockbuster-styled 2012 Syrah Stock checks in as a blend of 84% Syrah, 7% Grenache, 6% Petit Sirah, and the rest Viognier and Mourvedre, that was fermented with 32% whole clusters and aged in just over half new French oak. It offers stunning notes of blackcurrants, cassis, smoked meats, ground pepper and wild herbs to go with a full-bodied, unctuous, layered, yet always graceful and elegant feel on the palate. Nicely structured, with perfect overall balance, it still has the open-knit character of the vintage, yet has plenty of underlying structure, which at the moment is slightly hidden by the wine's lavish fruit. It will be better in 2-3 years, and have two decades of overall longevity. (JD)" (08/2015)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Domaine Roulot Meursault "Les Luchets" (92RP, (89-91BH), 90ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Meursault Luchets is rich, round and supple. It is one of the more open, accessible wines from Roulot in 2009. Layers of warm, radiant fruit caress the palate in stunning style. Mineral notes appear on the finish, but the Luchets is essentially about fruit, within the context of Meursault, of course. Anticipated maturity: 2012+. (AG)" (09/2011)

1992 Shafer "Hillside Select" Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 1992 Shafer "Hillside Select" Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon (95RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1992 Shafer Cabernet Sauvignon Hillside Select is another killer wine boasting a dense purple color as well as a gorgeous bouquet of crème de cassis, creosote, camphor, licorice, blackberries and subtle background oak, and full-bodied, heady flavors. It is clear that after 1991, the Shafers and Elias Fernandez were entering a dramatic new level of quality as the Hillside Select cuvée had become a world-class effort. This beauty is just becoming fully drinkable and should continue to provide immense enjoyment over the next 20 years. (RP)" (12/2004)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1996 Haegelen-Jayer Clos-de-Vougeot Vieilles Vignes ((92-95RP)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "As is usually the case, this wine is superb. It is dark ruby-colored and offering candied black fruit scents interspersed with floral and red currant fragrances, this hugely concentrated, extracted, and expansive wine is densely packed with seamless layers of blackberries, cassis liqueur, Asian spices, and stones. It is broad-shouldered, full-bodied, elegant, and possesses an incredibly long and fabulously precise finish. It will be fascinating to taste it side by side with the magnificent 1995 in a decade or so. (PR)" (08/1998)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2007 Domaine de la Charbonnière "Les Hauts Brusquières Cuvée Spéciale" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (95RP, 93ST, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This wine is composed of a selection the Maret family makes from their holdings in one of the great sites in all of Chateauneuf du Pape, the lieux-dit known as La Crau. The 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape Les Hautes Brusquieres Cuvee Speciale is a blend of 60% Grenache and 40% Syrah. The Grenache is aged in large oak foudres and most of the Syrah in smaller barrels. This fabulous, inky/ruby/purple-tinged wine offers up sweet, jammy aromas of black raspberries, licorice, truffles, underbrush, and Provencal herbs. It is the deepest colored of these four wines, and is also profoundly rich and layered, with sweet tannins as well as refreshing vibrancy and acidity. 2005 Pax "Obsidian" Knight's Valley Syrah
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2005 Pax "Obsidian" Knight's Valley Syrah (96RP, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2005 Syrah Obsidian Vineyard is from Knight’s Valley. This is steep hillside vineyard stuff with a dense, dark purple color, a phenomenally rich nose of brioche, acacia flowers, blackberry, and blueberry jam intermixed with some white chocolate and perhaps hints of fig and truffle. The wine is spicy, full-bodied, incredibly opulent, and thick, even unctuously textured, with great purity and richness. Moreover, the glycerin and viscosity cover up some huge tannins. This is an amazingly big, thick wine, but it still cascades over the palate like a waterfall. This wine should come into its own in several years and drink well for 10-15. (RP)" (12/2007)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Simon Bize Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru "Aux Vergelesses" ((92-94BH)). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "* Sweet spot Outstanding* This possesses the most elegant nose among these Savigny 1ers with complex and fresh aromas of violets, plum, earth, wet stone and a smoky hint that precede rich, intense, detailed and highly energetic middle weight flavors that are shaped by the very firm tannins on the impressively persistent finish. This doesn't have quite the same level of complexity as the Talmettes but it may in time as there is ample underlying material and like many of the Bize '09s, this is unapologetically built to age. Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2005 Pride Mountain "Reserve" Sonoma-Napa Counties Cabernet Sauvignon (96RP, 94WE, 93ST, 93WS, 92CG). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Almost as impressive is the 2005 Cabernet Reserve, a blend of 95.5% Cabernet Sauvignon and 4.5 % Petit Verdot, in this case sourced 58% from Sonoma County and 42% from Napa. Its 14.5% alcohol is slightly lower than its sibling’s. This full-bodied wine is very concentrated, with a saturated bluish/purple color and a classic nose of mocha and espresso intermixed with crème de cassis and charcoal. The finish is a good 40-45 seconds, and the wine has a remarkable vibrancy and freshness from the vintage’s acidity. This is terrific stuff to drink now and over the next 12-15 years. 96+ (RP)" (06/2015)

Firm tannins, joined by tobacco and licorice accents, highlight the long aftertaste. Best from 2012 through 2022. (BS)" (08/2011)

Knockout nose combines wild blackberry, plum, leather, minerals, lead pencil, smoke and meat; vibrant and extraordinarily complex. Then amazingly concentrated and intense in the mouth; not especially fleshy today owing to its brisk acidity but has terrific underlying density, great flavor expression and verve, and impeccable balance. 1989 Raymond Lafon, Sauternes
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1989 Raymond Lafon, Sauternes (91RP, 90ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1989 exhibits aromas of honeyed pineapple/tropical fruit and toasty new oak, as well as an exotic, flashy perfume that is not as pronounced in either the 1990 or 1988. The 1989 exhibits less botrytis than the other two vintages. The wine possesses an opulent, full-bodied, exotic, lavishly rich personality, moderate sweetness, and huge quantity of extract, glycerin, and alcohol in its finish. The dense ruby/purple-hued 2008 exhibits abundant blue and red fruits, especially blueberries and raspberries, intermixed with forest floor-like notes. With surprising concentration as well as a thick, juicy mouthfeel as well as undeniable elegance and precision, this dense 2008 should drink beautifully for another 10-15 years. (RP)" (10/2011)

Rita Hills Pinot Noir,Wine Enthusiast writes: "The most balanced of Sea Smoke’s three new Pinots, Southing was aged in about two-thirds new oak, which gives rich caramel, toasted coconut and exotic spice notes to the ripe fruit flavors. The wine explodes with cherries, raspberries, mulberries and even chocolate mint, finishing long and spicy, and leaving the impression of wholesomeness and completeness. 1994 Spottswoode Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1994 Spottswoode Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (99RP, 93CG, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "1994 produced 4,863 cases from a blend of 94% Cabernet Sauvignon and 6% Cabernet Franc. This is one of the great vintages of the 90s, and Spottswoode hit the bull’s-eye with this opaque, ruby/purple-colored wine that still has incredible youthfulness and vibrancy. Fabulous fruit intensity, blackcurrants, black cherries and blackberry, along with charcoal, chocolate and graphite, are all present in this superb, full-bodied, stunningly multidimensional wine that is only now approaching mid-adolescence at age 22. This wine has at least 25-30 more years of life left in it. It is a great one. (RP)" (08/2016)

2007 Marcassin "Marcassin Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2007 Marcassin "Marcassin Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (98RP, 96WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I had always believed the 2007 Pinot Noir was the finest Helen Turley and John Wetlaufer had produced at their Estate Vineyard, but after doing this vertical and seeing the performances of the 1998, 2002 and 2004, that belief rings somewhat hollow. The still young, incredible 2007 has all the potential needed to achieve a three-digit rating in a few years. A dense plum/purple color is followed by notes of subtle smoke, barbecue spice, blueberries, red and black currants, flowers, and a smoky meat-like character that I first compared to the aroma of Peking duck. There is something exotic about this full-bodied, dense 2007. Young and vibrant, it should hit its peak in 5-6 years, and last until 2030-2035. This world-class, prodigious Pinot Noir is probably better than 90% of the red Burgundies being produced. (RP)" (06/2014)

Vinous: "David Abreu's 2010 Thorevilos stands apart from all of the other wines in this range for its massive, inky concentration. It is also the last of these wines to be released, which may explain its intense power. A host of graphite, smoke, incense, tobacco, spice and black fruit gradually open up, but the 2010 is a wine for the future. I won't touch another bottle until at least age ten, even though that is almost certainly not going to be enough time to find the wine at its peak of expression. (AG)" (06/2015)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2006 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Vigna Paganelli is huge, powerful and totally implosive. The seductive allure of the 2007 is nowhere to be found. Instead, the 2006 is built on a serious spine of formidable tannin and dark red/black fruit. Hints of tar, licorice, rose petals and tobacco inform the powerful, virile finish. The 2006 is going to require considerable patience, but it is clearly a jewel of a wine, even at this early stage. (AG)" (04/2012)

Cloves, dark plums, cherries, smoke and graphite add richness and resonance to this powerful, incisive wine. Juicy and exuberant, the 2009 has always had a certain raciness that is impossible to resist. Layers of fruit continue to build to the enveloping, sensual finish. Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2012 Horsepower "Sur Echalas Vineyard" Walla Walla Valley Syrah (OWC - 97RP, 96WE, 93VN, 92WS) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Another wine I was able to taste multiple times, the 2012 Syrah Sur Echalas Vineyard is the most voluptuous, sexy and textured of the lineup. Giving up classic, Old World Syrah notes of blackcurrants, black olives, smoked meats, ground pepper and violets, this beauty hits the palate with full-bodied richness and is gorgeous, concentrated and expansiveness on the palate, with plenty of of mid-palate depth and length. The tannin becomes more and more apparent with time in the glass. This needs 3-4 years to round into form, and will keep for 15-20 years. As with all of these 2012s, decant if drinking anytime soon. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2003 & 2005 Pontet-Canet, Pauillac Tasting Lot, including 1-bottle of 2003 Pontet-Canet, Pauillac (95RP, 94WS, 93JS, 93ST, 91WE) and 1-bottle of 2005 Pontet-Canet, Pauillac (97RP, 96WS, 95ST, 94WE). Of the 2005 Pontet-Canet, Pauillac,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "Possibly the youngest wine of all the 2005 Médocs in terms of its evolution, at age 10 the inky purple 2005 Pontet-Canet tastes more like a two-year-old wine. Loads of pure blueberry, blackberry and cassis fruit are present along with a hint of licorice and background oak. It is full-bodied, ripe, and excruciatingly fresh, vigorous and exuberant. This is a tour de force, and a sensational effort that rivals the first growths. Give it another 5-10 years of cellaring, and drink it over the following 30-40 years. 97+ points." (06/2015)

2000 Haut-Brion, Pessac-Léognan
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2000 Haut-Brion, Pessac-Léognan (99RP, 96ST, 96WE, 95JS, 94W&S, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2000 Haut-Brion (a blend of 51% Merlot, 43% Cabernet Sauvignon, and the rest Cabernet Franc) showed incredibly at the tasting, and for me is one of the three or four most prodigious wines of the vintage. A compelling nose of roasted herbs, scorched earth, sweet blueberries, plums, black currants, and a hint of graphite is followed by a deep, layered, sumptuously textured, full-bodied Haut-Brion, but one with extraordinary complexity. This wine seems more evolved and approachable than I had expected it to be at age 10. My window of maturity seven years ago was 2012-2040, but I would change that to 2010-2050. (RP)" (06/2010)

1999 Mommessin Clos de Tart Grand Cru (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum lot of 1999 Mommessin Clos de Tart Grand Cru (1.5L) (94ST, 93RP, 92BH). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Ruby-red. Vibrant, precise aromas of black fruits, violet, minerals and gun metal. A wine of great breadth and verve; still quite closed but already displays great energy in the middle palate. Flavors of raspberry and gunflint offer lovely restrained sweetness. Solidly structured but not hard; still, this wine firm acids and solid tannins call for a good 8 to 10 years of bottle aging. James Suckling: " *Ranked #1 in Top Dozen Bottles Tasted in 2011* Opulent and complex, with dark fruits such as plums and blackberries. Milk chocolate. Dried herbs too. Black olives. Stunning nose. Full bodied, with firm and chewy tannins, but a very creamy texture, and lots of milk chocolate, berry and mineral character. It goes on for minutes. Clear and powerful. Savory and salty. One of the best Massetos ever." (08/2012)

1993 Domaine Groffier Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1993 Domaine Groffier Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru (93RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This is an excellent 1993 Chambertin Clos de Beze from Groffier. It has a lovely nose of cranberry, pomegranate and a touch of blackcurrant, a bouquet that floats airily from the glass and is instantly entrancing. The palate is Groffier’s signature style with a firm bold structure, perhaps a touch of residual oak that has never been fully assimilated and just a touch of bitterness on the finish. The aromatics are more appealing than the palate, though this remains a fine and bold Clos de Beze. (NM)" (10/2014)

1998 Chris Ringland (Three Rivers) Shiraz Barossa Valley (OWC)
Bid on this bottle of 1998 Chris Ringland (Three Rivers) Shiraz Barossa Valley (OWC - 100RP) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Chris Ringland (formerly known as Three Rivers Shiraz), which is aged 42 months in 100% new French oak, and is rarely racked until bottling, represents an extraordinary expression of Barossa Shiraz. The perfect 1998, made from a single, 88-year-old vineyard cropped at one ton of fruit per acre, soaked up its wood component as if it is not even present. It boasts a sumptuous texture, great delineation, and a huge fragrance of bacon fat, blackberry liqueur, creme de cassis, toast, espresso roast, and hints of chocolate as well as pepper. Full-bodied yet remarkably well-delineated and fresh, this stunning wine is still a baby, but it promises to evolve for two decades or more. (RP)" (10/2004)

1982 Latour, Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 1982 Latour, Pauillac (100RP, 98JS, 98VN, 98WS, 97ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Always somewhat atypical, the 1982 Latour has been the most opulent, flamboyant, and precocious of the northern Medocs, especially the St.-Juliens, Pauillacs, and St.-Estephes. It hasn't changed much over the last 10-15 years, revealing sweet tannins as well as extraordinarily decadent, even extravagant levels of fruit, glycerin, and body. It is an amazing wine, and on several occasions, I have actually picked it as a right bank Pomerol because of the lushness and succulence of the cedary, blackberry, black currant fruit. This vintage has always tasted great, even in its youth, and revealed a precociousness that one does not associate with this Chateau. However, the 1982 is still evolving at a glacial pace. The concentration remains remarkable, and the wine is a full-bodied, exuberant, rich, classic Pauillac in its aromatic and flavor profiles ... (RP)" (06/2009)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2003 Léoville-Poyferré, St-Julien (96RP, 95JS, 95WS, 93WE, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The spectacular 2003 Leoville Poyferre exhibits a dense purple color with a touch of lightening at the edge as well as notes of creosote, barbecue smoke, jammy black currants, licorice and spice box. This intense, voluptuously textured, full-bodied St.-Julien possesses low acidity and ripe tannin. Still fresh and exuberant, it is just entering its plateau of full maturity where it should remain for 10-15+ years. (RP)" (08/2014)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2004 Bodegas Numanthia-Termes "Numanthia" Toro (98RP, 95WS, 94W&S, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Any aspiring collectors should add a case of this to their stash. The 2004 Numanthia comes from a different terroir with a different clone of Tinta de Toro. The vines for this cuvee range from 70-100 years of age with tiny yields of 1 ton of fruit per acre. The wine undergoes malolactic fermentation in barrel followed by 19 months in new French oak before being bottled unfined and unfiltered. The wine is a glass-coating opaque purple with a killer nose of mineral, pencil lead, wild blueberry, and blackberry liqueur that roars from the glass. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, dense, and already beginning to show complexity within its layers of spicy black fruits. There is immense power, well-concealed ripe tannin, and the well-delineated finish lasts for over one minute. This is a sensational effort which in a perfect world should be cellared for a d

2013 Scarecrow Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2013 Scarecrow Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (100RP, (95-97VN), 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The prodigious 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, including fruit from some of the oldest Cabernet vines still in existence in Napa. This full-bodied classic displays notes of forest floor, earth, crème de cassis, blackberry liqueur, licorice and some pen ink. It is dense, full-bodied, prodigiously rich, massive in intensity, yet relatively light on its feet. This great ballerina of a wine has extraordinary ripeness but pulls back from the edge before going over the top. There are 1,000 cases of this classic, which should age effortlessly for 30+ years. Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2009 Branon, Pessac-Léognan (OWC - 98RP, 94ST, 94WS) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This magnificent, dense plum/purple-colored Pessac-Leognan reveals notes of scorched earth, burning embers, blackberries and truffles. Composed of Merlot and Cabernet Franc from a vineyard gorgeously situated between Malartic Lagraviere and Haut-Bailly, it possesses full-bodied power, a stunningly intense, voluptuous, layered mouthfeel and abundant levels of fruit, glycerin and tannin. The 2009 ranks alongside the magnificent 2000, which is aging at a glacial pace. Unfortunately, proprietress Helene Garcin only produces around 500 cases of this somewhat cult-ish Pessac-Leognan. Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2010 Domaine de la Janasse "Chaupin" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (98RP, 95ST, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Chateauneuf du Pape Chaupin rivals the 2007 Chaupin (to date the best Chaupin I have yet tasted). Made from 100% Grenache (3/4 destemmed), it boasts a dense black/purple color as well as unbelievable notes of raspberries, black cherries, licorice, truffles, camphor, forest floor and garrigue. This wine is stunningly concentrated, incredibly noble, precise and expansive on the palate with mouth-saturating intensity, glycerin and extract. It is an amazing example of impeccably grown old vine Grenache translated into a natural yet full-throttle red. (RP)" (10/2012)

2000 Bryant Family Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2000 Bryant Family Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (95RP, 95ST, 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2000 Cabernet Sauvignon is an amazing tour de force. Quality like this was rare, if not impossible to obtain in 2000. From bottle, the wine is performing even better than it did from cask. The color is an opaque black/ruby/purple, and the amazing aromatic concoction includes notes of melted licorice, minerals, smoky toast, and blackberry as well as cassis liqueur. Full-bodied, thick, and juicy, it is a voluptuous effort to drink now and over the next 15-16 years. It is a brilliant achievement, surpassed by none, and equaled only by a few other northern California 2000s. (RP)" (12/2003)

2001 Château de Beaucastel Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2001 Château de Beaucastel Châteauneuf-du-Pape (96RP, 93WS, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Beaucastel has been on a terrific qualitative roll over the last four vintages, and the 2001 Chateauneuf du Pape (which Francois Perrin feels is similar to the 1990, although I don’t see that as of yet) is a 15,000-case blend of 30% Grenache, 30% Mourvedre, 10% Syrah, 10% Counoise, and the balance split among the other permitted varietals of the appellation. This inky/ruby/purple-colored cuvee offers a classic Beaucastel bouquet of new saddle leather, cigar smoke, roasted herbs, black truffles, underbrush, and blackberry as well as cherry fruit. It is a superb, earthy expression of this Mourvedre-dominated cuvee. Full-bodied and powerful, it will undoubtedly close down over the next several years, not to re-emerge for 7-8 years. 1995 Ridge Vineyards "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon (OWC)
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 1995 Ridge Vineyards "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon (OWC - 91RP) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1995 Monte Bello is actually a Proprietary Red Wine as the blend is 69% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Merlot, 10% Petit Verdot, and 3% Cabernet Franc. It was made from an extremely severe selection of only 25% of the harvest. Paul Draper feels it is the biggest, brawniest, and most muscular Monte Bello of the 1990s, and in need of 10-15 more years of cellaring. This saturated ruby/purple-colored effort is still backward, with a closed nose of minerals, oak, and subtle black fruits. In the mouth, it is large-scaled, tannic, rich, and long, but nearly abrasive because of the wine's high tannin level. This youthful, muscular, monster Monte Bello will require significant cellaring. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2035. " (12/1998)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The youngest Run Rig, the 2001, should equal the 1998 as it is almost a clone aromatically, texturally, and flavor-wise, just much younger. This opaque purple-colored beauty should flirt with perfection over the next 10-15 years. Torbreck’s flagship wine, the Run Rig, is made from 40- to 120-year-old Shiraz vines with some co-fermented Viognier (usually around 3%), tips the scales between 14-15% alcohol, and is aged 30 months in French oak. In contrast to the way they taste upon release, neither the 1998 or 1997 Run Rig revealed any oak." (06/2009)

Bid on this 12-bottle lot of 2009 Saint-Pierre, St-Julien (OWC - 98RP, 93JS, 93ST, 92WE, 92WS) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The all-time greatest wine I have ever tasted from Saint-Pierre, this estate, the smallest of the grand cru classes of St.-Julien, has an opaque purple color and a spectacular nose of subtle charcoal, creme de cassis, blackberry, and incense. Full-bodied, with striking intensity and flamboyantly rich, exuberant flavors bursting with extract, the St. Pierre has no hard edges, but rather massive, incredibly well-endowed blockbuster style, which should prove to be monumental. Give it 6-8 years to take on more definition and calm down, but this is a 30- to 40-year wine. Bravo! (RP)" (02/2012)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard Lpv comes from clone 337. This is a rather earthy style for a Schrader wine, with less drama and flamboyance, but great fruit, a more meaty, dusty style with underbrush as well as blackcurrants, with spicy oak. It’s dense, full-bodied and promises to age nicely for 20 more years. (RP)" (10/2015)
