2005 Robert Mondavi "Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2005 Robert Mondavi "Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (94W&S, 94WE, 92WS, 91ST, 90RP, 90VN). Wine Enthusiast: " *Cellar Selection* This is a very fine, high level Cabernet that shows the impeccable nature of Mondavi Reserve. Yet it’s also very tannic and far from being drinkable. Shows a vast repository of black currant, blackberry, black cherry and new oak flavors wrapped into a smooth, velvety mouthfeel whose finish goes on forever. Masculine and authoritative, it should continue to improve for many years. Drink now, with decanting, and through 2017, at least." (12/2008)

Bid on this bottle of 2002 Diamond Creek "Volcanic Hill" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (96RP, 96W&S, 95WE, 92CG, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon Volcanic Hill (an 8-acre, south-facing parcel) comes from white volcanic ash soils called 'tufa.' It is an extraordinarily young, full-bodied Cabernet offering plenty of blackberry, cassis, white chocolate and crushed rock characteristics along with huge tannins. In fact, I thought it was even more backward than the Red Rock Terrace or Gravelly Meadow. Intense and full with fabulous potential, this is another compelling effort from Diamond Creek. Forget it for a decade and drink it over the following 25-30+ years. These three extremely youthful and impressive wines from Diamond Creek Vineyards are all backward and in need of 5-7 years of additional cellaring. By the way, each of these three vineyards has the exact same percentage of grapes (88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Merlot, 2% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Ver

1995 Viader Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1995 Viader Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (91RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Similar in style to the 1996, the 1995 reveals an opaque purple color, remarkably sweet tannin for a wine from this vintage, and gorgeous levels of black currant fruit nicely complemented by toast, smoke, and floral scents. This rich, medium to full-bodied wine fills the mouth without any sense of heaviness or harshness. It is a beautifully knit, lush, complex, elegant red wine ... The wines from this superbly situated hillside vineyard on the lower slopes of Howell Mountain are going from strength to strength. Proprietor Delia Viader believes in blending these wines with a relatively high percentage of Cabernet Franc. In most vintages, the proportion of Cabernet Franc is close to 50%, with the balance Cabernet Sauvignon. Improvements noticeable in both the 1995 and 1996 (and for that matter that 1994) have included richer mid-palates, and less aggressive oak and acidity. (RP)" (1

2008 Ducru-Beaucaillou, St-Julien
Bid on this bottle of 2008 Ducru-Beaucaillou, St-Julien (95RP, 94JS, 94WE, 92ST, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the stars of the vintage, and a remarkable achievement in 2008, with impressive richness, this dense purple colored wine is almost as opaque as the 2010. Spring flowers, crushed rocks, creme de cassis and some subtle oak are followed by a full-bodied, concentrated wine that transcends the vintage character in its power, richness, and aging potential. It also exhibits tremendous precision, purity, and depth of character. It is more forward than the 2010 is likely to be, but probably not as sumptuous as the 2009 will turn out to be. This is a wine to buy. Anticipated maturity: 2016-2035." (05/2011)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Heitz Cellar "Martha's Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Wine Spectator: "Shows notable herb, mint and bay leaf overtones, with a tight, dense core of dried currant and berry that is slow to open. Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 2004 Gemstone "Facets" Yountville Bordeaux Blend (94RP, 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A blend of 52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, and 13% Cabernet Franc, the 2004 Facets of Gemstone exhibits a similar character, but more mocha, black cherry, chocolate, and espresso-like notes, a plumper, more lush sweetness (no doubt because of the higher percentage of Merlot), and great aromatics, texture, expansiveness, and length. It should improve for 2-5 years, and drink well for 12-15. (RP)" (12/2006)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2012 Rivers-Marie "Summa Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (94VN, 93ST, 92BH). Vinous: "The 2012 Pinot Noir Summa Vineyard is drop-dead gorgeous. Cranberry, red cherry, wild flowers, mint and cinnamon meld together beautifully. I find a little more depth and focus in the Summa next to the Summa Old Vines, which is a bit more wandering, especially in its aromatics. Layers of bright red fruit build to the crystalline, inviting finish. The 2012 is round and supple in style, yet also layered with vibrancy." (02/2014)

2010 Marcassin "Three Sisters Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 Marcassin "Three Sisters Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay (99RP, 94VN, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "With a slightly smokier edge to the honeysuckle, poached pear, pineapple and caramelized citrus notes, the 2010 Chardonnay Marcassin Vineyard hits the palate with a full-bodied, thunderous affect of fruit, glycerin and acidity. The wine reveals some smoke in the aromatics, but little, if any, in the flavor profile. Full-bodied, lovely, and again, close to perfection (as so often these wines are), this is a beauty to drink over the next decade or more. (RP)" (08/2015)

2005 Le Gay, Pomerol
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2005 Le Gay, Pomerol (95RP, 93WS, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "95+ points. The finest Le Gay produced since the post World War II era, the 2005 even eclipses the fabulous 1982 and 1989. This inky/purple-hued effort reflects the commitment of proprietress Catherine Pere-Verge. An extraordinary perfume of blueberries, blackberries, flowers, truffles, and a touch of steely minerality is followed by a massive wine of exceptional concentration, a multilayered texture, phenomenal purity, and a finish that lasts for nearly a minute. It is a massive, old style, pure, rich Pomerol that should only be purchased by patient connoisseurs as gratification will need to be deferred for at least a decade. Of the 2007 Keenan Spring Mountain District Cabernet Sauvignon,Wine & Spirits writes: "*Listed in the 100 Best Buys of 2011* Nils Venge and Randy Kewell blend Keenan's estate-grown fruit (86 percent) with cabernet from Pope Valley, which adds to this wine's aromatic complexity. The Spring Mountain fruit is deep and dark in its plumminess, with an intense minerality that streaks through the entire wine, as if you can taste the elevation rising into the finish. It builds from savory blueberry and the French roast coffee scent of oak toward crushed rock in the tannin. Even with their explosive mineral power, those tannins manage to feel silken and restrained. For the cellar, and eventually for lamb shank." (10/2011)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2010 Domaine Jean-Marc Morey Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru "Les Champs Gains" (92BH). Allen Meadows - Burghound: " *Outstanding* Here the ripeness is dialed back a bit as the aromas run toward white flowers though there are notes of orange peel and white peach. There is excellent richness to the plump and generous flavors that possess both good detail and a fine sense of vibrancy before ending in a clean, dry, balanced and solidly persistent finish. Allen Meadows - Burghound: "( from a .90 ha parcel planted in 1967 and 1987 and matured in 1 to 5 year old oak) A highly complex and really quite perfumed nose offers up notes of mineral reduction, green fruit, sea breeze and a hint of spice, all trimmed is a subtle touch of wood. There is outstanding richness to the full-bodied and palate coating flavors that display an abundance of acid-buffering dry extract as well as superb length on the moderately austere finish. 2012 Talley "Rosemary's Vineyard" Arroyo Grande Pinot Noir
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2012 Talley "Rosemary's Vineyard" Arroyo Grande Pinot Noir (98RP, 93WE, 92VN, 91CG). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Easily one of the top Pinot Noirs in the vintage (and I'd wager one of the top efforts to ever come out of California), Talley’s 2012 Pinot Noir Rosemary’s Vineyard is world-class stuff that readers need to taste! Unfortunately, there’s a scant 460 cases to go around, but don’t miss a chance to grab some of these. Aged 18 months in 30% new French oak, it exhibits awesome notes of cassis, crushed flowers, rose bush, sappy herbs and exotic spice on the nose. This flows to a medium to full-bodied, rich, yet laser-focused palate that carries tremendous depth, ultra-fine tannin and blockbuster length. Given the balance and purity, it’s already hard to resist, but I’ve no doubt it will evolve nicely for over a decade. (JD)" (11/2014)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "As great as all these wines are, Beau Vigne’s top wine is the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Cult. From a dry-farmed vineyard, it exhibits an inky/blue/black color as well as beautiful, sweet kirsch liqueur notes intermixed with creme de cassis, unsmoked cigar tobacco, underbrush and loamy soil notes. The complex aromatics are followed by a fabulously rich, full-bodied, voluptuously textured wine revealing terrific purity as well as depth. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2005 Carter "Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard" Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley (98RP, 95WS, 92W&S). Robert Parker"The Carter Cellars 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon comes in at a rather modest 14.1% natural alcohol, which probably reflects the cool 2005 growing season. At more than $200.00 a bottle, this may be one of the last Beckstoffer To Kalon Cabernets at that price point, and one probably impossible to find except in the auction arena. This wine just has it all – floral notes, crème de cassis, minerality and graphite in what could be a Napa-hypothetical blend of the best of Bordeaux’s Margaux and Pauillac appellations. This is a magical site. (Nearly any capable winemaker producing wine from there has proven that time after time.) This is a killer effort – young and fresh, with at least 20 years upside to it. Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2000 Haut-Bergey, Pessac-Léognan (94RP, 90ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I bought this wine for myself because I thought it was a sleeper of the vintage, and I couldn’t be happier. My score in two tastings was identical to what it was seven years ago. Chocolatey espresso notes jump from the glass of this dark ruby/purple-colored wine. Full-bodied, with a silky texture, loads of concentration and density, this is a beautiful wine that is both hedonistically and intellectually pleasing. The wine seems to have reached full maturity, where it should stay for another 10-15 years." (06/2010)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2000 Taylor Vintage Port (98RP, 96WE, 95ST, 95WS). Aromas of graphite, blackberry liqueur, creme de cassis and smoke jump from the glass. Spectacularly concentrated and enormously endowed, with sweetness allied to ripe tannin, decent acidity, and layer upon layer of fruit and extract, this is the leading candidate for the port of the vintage. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2040." (10/2002)

2007 Anderson's Conn Valley "Eloge" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2007 Anderson's Conn Valley "Eloge" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (98RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Eloge is a profoundly complex, extraordinary wine that is showing better out of bottle than it ever did from barrel. The final blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Cabernet Franc and the rest Petit Verdot and Merlot reveals an inky/purple color as well as a gorgeous nose of graphite, creme de cassis, cedarwood, Christmas fruitcake, bay leaf and a damp forest floor-like character. It possesses sensational depth, a full-bodied opulence, admirable purity and a skyscraper-like texture and finish. This killer wine has not yet closed down, and it should drink well for 20-25 years." Its deep ruby/purple hue is accompanied by scents of boysenberries, black currants, and spring flowers. 2000 Grand-Puy-Lacoste, Pauillac
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2000 Grand-Puy-Lacoste, Pauillac (94RP, 92ST, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2000 Grand Puy Lacoste is even better than such recent vintages as 2005 and 2009. A broad, classic, large-scaled effort, it boasts a deep blue/purple color as well as tell-tale notes of creme de cassis, subtle smoke, flowers, and unsmoked tobacco. Powerful, full-bodied flavors have shed a lot of tannin, but they remain relatively youthful. This is a young adolescent, broadly flavored Pauillac with an enticing texture as well as abundant richness and fruit. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2000 Troplong Mondot, St-Emilion (96RP, 92ST, 92WE, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Extremely young with an unbelievable deep purple color, the 2000 Troplong Mondot has hardly budged since I tasted it in 2003. Two recent tastings confirmed that this is the greatest Troplong Mondot between their profound 1990 and more recent vintages such as 2005, 2008, and 2009. Copious chocolate, graphite, blackberry, blueberry, cassis, and ink characteristics are present in this full-bodied, powerful, massive St.-Emilion. While the tannins are noticeable, they are better integrated than they were seven years ago, and the fruit, extract, and richness clearly outweigh the wine’s structure. This 2000 will benefit from another 4-5 years of cellaring (longer than I originally predicted), and has at least two decades of drinkability ahead of it. (RP)" (06/2010)

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2003 Andre Brunel "Les Cailloux" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (93ST, 92RP). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Deep, bright red. Cherry, red plum, raspberry liqueur aromas, along with pungent notes of rose, violet and smoked meat. Conveys the great ripeness of the vintage but the tangy wild strawberry and rhubarb flavors are impressively fresh and delineated too. This expands impressively through the finish without losing focus or verve. While there are no tough tannins to get in the way of early drinking, this has the stuffing to repay cellaring." It, too, reveals the noble sweetness of tannin, the extraordinary rich, intense mouthfeel, and sumptuous aromas of flowers, burning embers, blackberries, blueberries, spice box, and cedar. This is Clone 4 and Clone 6, as well as Clone 337, blended together from the Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard, aged in 100% new Darnajou barrels. 2006 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 2006 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (98WE, 96RP, 95ST, 94WS). Wine Enthusiast: "The 2006 flagship Cabernet from Quilceda Creek is a massive wine that has just begun to emerge from its slumber. When first released the wine seemed to have entered a dumb phase, but six months later it responds to decanting and shows its muscle. Fruit flavors of black, brandied cherries, cassis and bourbon-soaked plums are wrapped in generous, layered oak. The wine is dusty, smoky, laced with streaks of licorice and brightened with sharp acids. It continues to expand further in the glass, adding flesh and spice to its frame, with a cedar/cigar box finish." (03/2010)

2012 Sine Qua Non "Stock" Central Coast Syrah
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2012 Sine Qua Non "Stock" Central Coast Syrah ((97-99RP), 96AG). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Syrah releases started with the 2012 Syrah Stock. Coming mostly from the Eleven Confessions vineyard in the Sta. Rita Hills, it also has portions from Cumulus, The Third Twin and White Hawk. Made from 84% Syrah, 7% Grenache, 6% Petite Sirah, 2% Viognier and the rest Mourvedre, it spent 20 months (it’s not yet bottled) in 52% new French oak. Showing the purity and suppleness of the vintage, yet with no lack of concentration, depth or richness, it gives up fabulous cassis, black raspberry, smoked meats and violet-like aromas and flavors that continue to change in the glass. In short, it’s a rock-star Syrah that could come from nowhere else. It should be approachable on release and evolve gracefully for two decades or more. (JD)" (08/2014)

2010 Spottswoode "Family Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 Spottswoode "Family Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (100RP, 96VN, 94ST, 93WS, 91CG). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The brilliant 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon boasts an inky/purple color as well as glorious aromas of spring flowers, lead pencil shavings, licorice and a multitude of wild mountain fruits, in particular black raspberry, blackberry and cassis reminiscent of a French Pauillac (although I always think of Spottswoode as the Chateau Margaux of Napa). With a flawless integration of tannin, wood and acidity, it comes across like a liquid version of haute couture from the house of Chanel. It should drink well young yet age for 25 years. 1986 Mouton Rothschild, Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 1986 Mouton Rothschild, Pauillac (100JS, 100RP, 99WS, 98ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Deep garnet-black colour. An incredible array of aromas on the nose: blackberry, black cherry, tobacco, espresso, leather, black olive and loam. The palate is absolutely seamless from first impression to finish, effortlessly building layers of complexity in the mouth and leading to a very long, earth and spice finish. I can’t see how this could possibly be improvement so have no alternative but concede perfection. Drink now to 2045+. Tasted March 2009. (LPB)" (05/2009)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2005 Pichon-Lalande, Pauillac (95WE, 93JS, 93WS, 90ST). Wine Enthusiast: "In recent years, Pichon Comtesse has developed an elegance all its own, with great style, smoothing out the real intensity of the wine. This 2005 continues in that tradition, a spicy, fruity wine, which has restraint as well as hidden power." (06/2008)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1998 Haut-Brion, Pessac-Léognan (97WS, 96RP, 94ST). Wine Spectator: "Dark color, with decadent aromas of truffles, meat, ripe berries and tobacco. Turns to sweet, crushed berries. Full-bodied, with very polished tannins and a berry and mineral aftertaste. The serious tannin structure is still hiding behind the fruit of the wine. Tightly wound and beautiful. Solid as a rock. A classic wine. (Web Only-2009)"

2009 Domaine Faiveley Batard-Montrachet
Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 2009 Domaine Faiveley Batard-Montrachet ((92-95ST)). 92-95 points Stephen Tanzer: "Pale yellow. Less expressive on the nose than the Bienvenue, hinting at clove, nuts and iodine. Then rich but dry in the mouth, and much less showy than the Bienvenue, conveying a clenched, solid, almost salty impression. Very tactile, palate-staining wine with finishing flavors of crushed rock and iodine. These vines are located just under the Montrachet of Marquis de Laguiche, notes Hervet. A bruiser. Hervet notes that the Bienvenue parcel is actually lower on the slope than the Batard but that the wine is higher-pitched and finer, with less volume. Or, as he put it, "in Burgundy, the rule is that there is no rule." (Sept/Oct 2010)

2005 Domaine Gros Frère & Soeur Grands Echézeaux Grand Cru
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2005 Domaine Gros Frère & Soeur Grands Echézeaux Grand Cru (93BH, 93ST). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Full red-ruby color. Medicinal black fruits, minerals, violet and menthol on the captivating nose. At once sweeter and finer than the Clos Vougeot, with a more obvious floral character, a finer grain, and a higher pitch to its raspberry and dark cherry flavors. This has a texture like liquid silk. In a supple, lush, rather feminine style, finishing with suave tannins and just enough energy. Gros says this one's a tart, and that the Clos Vougeot has more material and will be better in the long run, but today I find more precision here." (04/2007)

2002 Hundred Acre "Kayli Morgan" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2002 Hundred Acre "Kayli Morgan" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (100RP, 95ST, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This fabulous wine from the eastern hillsides of northern Napa Valley, not far from the Eisele Vineyard, boasts an inky/blue/purple color as well as an extraordinary perfume of mulberries, black cherries, cassis, graphite, forest floor and charcoal, an astonishing texture, a full-bodied opulence and extraordinary richness and length. It is a modern day legend that tastes even younger than it did 7-10 years ago. These wines have an amazing ability to firm up and become even richer and more complex, which is exactly what great winemaking and terroir can do. Kudos to Jason Woodbridge for another sensational wine. For those concerned about alcohol, the label shows 15.9%, but there is not a trace of warmth in this beauty. It will last for at least another 20-25 years, perhaps longer. (RP)" (06/2012)

2010 Domaine des Chezeaux (Ponsot) Chambertin Grand Cru
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2010 Domaine des Chezeaux (Ponsot) Chambertin Grand Cru ((92-95BH)). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "(Ponsot) Moderate reduction knocks down the nose but there is no lack of energy to the powerfully structured and constituted broad-shouldered flavors that brim with tannin-buffering dry extract and particularly good complexity, all wrapped in a textured, mouth coating and explosively long finish. This isn't necessarily particularly refined but then again one doesn't buy Chambertin expecting to find Chambolle." (01/2012)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2008 Ruchottes-Chambertin is loaded with serious firepower. It dazzles with gorgeous inner sweetness, superb delineation of its fruit and powerful yet sweet tannins. There is tremendous depth in the glass as this contemplative, introspective wine shows off its first-class pedigree. (AG)" (05/2011)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2009 Domaine Louis Jadot Chambertin-Clos de Beze Grand Cru (OWC - (94-97ST), (93-95BH), (92-94RP)) in original wood. Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Medium red. Pungent, highly perfumed nose offers minerals, dried rose, licorice and pepper; very showy today due to the early malo. Then juicy and pure, with superb energy and precision giving the wine a penetrating quality rare for the year. The tannins are covered by intense fruit on the very long finish, which features strong spicy and floral notes and a medicinal reserve. Lardiere compared this wine to a '59." (01/2011)

Vinous: "A model of elegance and finesse, the 2011 Clos St. Denis presents a hugely attractive fabric laced with orange peel, rose petals and sweet spices. The 2011 is an especially floral, lifted Clos St. Denis endowed with terrific energy and focus, while the mid-weight structure suggests it will drink well relatively early." (03/2014)

This is one of the more eccentric, intensely floral versions of the Selosse's Rosé I can remember tasting. This bottle was disgorged on February 12, 2014. Dosage is 2.6 grams per liter. Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2012 Domaine Paul Pernot Bienvenues Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru (93BH, 92ST). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Here the nose is aromatically similar to the Pucelles but with even better complexity and elegance. There is fine mid-palate density to the refined and marvelously intense medium-bodied flavors that possess the same fine complexity on the beautifully well-balanced and highly persistent finale. This is very Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet in the sense that it allies finesse and grace with power." (06/2014)

The tautly muscled and imposingly sized flavors are very tight and backwards and it's clear that this is going to be a long distance runner as the finish is austere, strict and very serious. There is however excellent underlying material and impeccable balance but again, this is a "buy and forget" wine. (AM)" (01/2010)
