1998 Freemark Abbey "Bosche" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1998 Freemark Abbey "Bosche" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. We say, pshaw to the nonsense that no good wines were made in California in the 1998 vintage! Take this 1998 Freemark Abbey Cabernet Sauvignon from the justly famous Bosché vineyard. It gives off amazing aromas of black raspberry, vanilla, toast and cedar, while on the palate things get berry berry, along with black pepper plus soft tannins and a very long finish. This vintage was 91% Cabernet Sauvignon and 9% Merlot all from the Bosché Vineyard in Napa Valley's Rutherford appellation (a site deemed by the Wine Spectator's James Laube as, "the truest embodiment of Rutherford-style Cabernet" and "one of the surest bets for greatness in the cellar.")

2010 Turley "The White Coat" California White Rhone Blend
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2010 Turley "The White Coat" California White Rhone Blend (91ST). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "(beginning with the 2009 vintage, this wine is all from estate fruit; a 55/45 blend of Howell Mountain roussanne and Paso Robles grenache blanc): Good bright yellow. Aromas of honeysuckle, wild herbs and pepper. Fat, sweet and intensely spicy; a distinctly plump style but given grip by its strong spice and pepper elements. Much more wild grenache blanc character than roussanne beeswax here. Very interesting wine. Winemaker Ehren Jordan blocked the malolactic fermentation of the roussanne. (ST)" (05/2012)

Laurent-Perrier "Cuvée Rosé" Brut Rosé Champagne
Bid on this bottle of Laurent-Perrier "Cuvée Rosé" Brut Rosé Champagne (96CG, 93RP, 92VN, 92WE, 92WS, 90W&S). Connoisseurs Guide: " *Three Stars* Elegant and fruity at the same time with a quick invitation from bright, pure cherryish notes and then filled out handsomely by whiffs of chalky soils and well-integrated, rich and uplifting yeast-driven scents, this wine manages to be both vigorous and layered at one and the same time. Its bubbles are insistent, finely carved and add to the early sensations of lightness and energy yet also carry the wine long into a balanced, refined finish. And its latter palate grip is exactly what one should expect from the genre. While service with light foods would be our first choice, this one has the beauty to stand alone." (12/2013)

1998 Raymond Lafon, Sauternes (375ml)
Bid on this half-bottle lot of 1998 Raymond Lafon, Sauternes (375ml). Robert Parker says: "Raymond-Lafon is a name to watch in the Sauternes district, particularly if one is looking for a wine that is close to the brilliance and majestic richness of Yquem for less than one-third the price. This small estate abuts Yquem's vineyard and has an excellent reputation. ...Unfortunately, the wine is extremely difficult to find because of the tiny production (1,300 cases) and the fact that the proprietor Pierre Meslier sells much of it to private clients in Europe." The estate of Raymond-Lafon fell into neglect, and it was not until 1972 that Pierre Meslier, the manager of Yquem, purchased this vineyard and began to rebuild this wine's once fabulous reputation. With a tiny yield of 9 hectoliters per hectare (even less than Yquem's), with the same grape blend and winemaking techniques employed as Yquem, and with the same ruthless selection procedure (normally 20% - 100% of a harvest is declass

2006 Turley "Tofanelli" Napa Valley Charbono
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2006 Turley "Tofanelli" Napa Valley Charbono (90RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "As for the lighter reds in the portfolio, there is the 2006 Charbono, one of the few made in California that merits attention. This wine shows nice notes of animal fur, pure berry fruit, a hint of jamminess, but low acidity and a nice textural mouthfeel. It is a classy bistro red to drink over the next several years.
