2004 Peter Michael "Belle Côte" Knights Valley Chardonnay
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2004 Peter Michael "Belle Côte" Knights Valley Chardonnay (95RP, 93ST, 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The light straw/green-colored 2004 Chardonnay Belle Cote offers an exotic nose of tropical fruits, litchi nuts, tangerines, and brioche. Gorgeous acidity buttresses the wine’s full-bodied, concentrated mouthfeel and freshness. It could easily pass for a grand cru from Chassagne-Montrachet. (RP)" (12/2006)

Of the 2009 Saxum "Paderewski Vineyard" Paso Robles Red Blend,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "The 2009 Paderewski Vineyard is a new bottling from a site Smith developed for Bill and Liz Armstrong, the owners of Epoch. Zinfandel, Syrah, Petit Sirah and Mourvedre are planted in separate plots but co-fermented. Layers of dark fruit meld into flowers, mint, sweet spices, menthol, eucalyptus and plums, with marvelous density and harmony. This shows superb aromatic complexity and tons of nuance to match its absolutely striking personality. It is a dazzling effort, especially for a young vineyard in just its third leaf. The blend was 39% Zinfandel, 38% Syrah, 13% Petite Sirah and 10% Mourvedre. (AG)" (0

1973 Mouton-Rothschild, Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 1973 Mouton-Rothschild, Pauillac. Chris Kissack's TheWineDoctor.com: "Phillippe Rothschild called it '...the monstrous injustice' of Mouton's second growth status. For years the labels stated simply 'Premier ne puis, second ne daigne, Mouton suis,' or 'First I cannot be, second I do not deign to be, I am Mouton'. It was clear from the great vintages produced in the 1860s and 1870s that the 1855 classification was already outdated, and that change was long overdue. But no such review of this classification will ever take place, and it was only thanks to the tireless campaigning of Philippe that Jacques Chirac, then Minister of Agriculture, passed a decree conferring the status of first growth upon Mouton-Rothschild in 1973. At last the wrong had been righted, and from then on Mouton's labels bore a new inscription, 'Premier je suis, second je fus. Mouton ne change,' or 'First I am, second I was. Mouton does not change'."

Ripe red berry and cherry aromas are complemented by clove, mace and cinnamon. Supple and round, with sweet red berry preserve flavors, soft tannins and building ripeness. Maintains admirable clarity on the long, juicy finish, which leaves behind a strong flavor of raspberry. For a rich wine, this is focused and fresh. (ST)" (05/2008)

2007 Rivers-Marie Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2007 Rivers-Marie Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Thomas Rivers Brown was the 2010 Food and Wine Magazine Winemaker of the Year. Notes on the 2007 Cabernet from the producer: "This wine has always been highly aromatic. Starting out with a nose of violets, wet rock, and cassis, the entry takes on a richness that betrays its two hillside sources. There is brightness to the black-fruited quality that pushes the perception of the fruit to the red/blue end of the spectrum until the tannin hits. As with all hillside sites, the tannin is there it's just a matter of managing the quality of it that sets the wine apart. The structure here takes on a fine-grained sweetness and if it deviates from a fruit focus it moves more toward the varietally correct notes of creosote, charcoal, and graphite with loamy, minerally tones creeping in. Time in the decanter definitely helps to prolong the finish and mellow out some of the mountain tannin."

2012 Realm "Beckstoffer To Kalon" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2012 Realm "Beckstoffer To Kalon" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (97RP, 96JS, 94VN, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon emerges from another first-growth vineyard that was acquired by Andy Beckstoffer in 1993, and planted with multiple clones of Cabernet Sauvignon and a small amount of Cabernet Franc. The original vineyard was planted in 1868, but the present one consists of nearly 90 acres. The 2012 reveals incredible complexity and density with notes of Christmas fruitcake, baking spices, licorice, crème de cassis and forest floor. Full-bodied with the vintage’s opulence and drama, this 100% Cabernet Sauvignon was fashioned from Clones 4 and 337. 97+ points. (RP)" (10/2014)

Noble, airy aromas of piquant pomegranate, smoky minerality, white pepper and leather. Densely packed and folded in on itself; like a black hole in the mouth. Great verve and energy to the saline and crushed stone flavors. Uncoils slowly with aeration, with the finish displaying almost painful intensity and terrific mounting floral length. 2007 Clos des Papes Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Bid on this bottle of 2007 Clos des Papes Châteauneuf-du-Pape (100RP, 97WS, 95ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the great vintages from this estate, surpassing even the 1990, 2000, 2001, 2003, and maybe the 2010 (time will tell with this one), the 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape from Vincent Avril delivers everything you could want from a wine. Full-bodied, intense and beautifully concentrated, with plenty of muscle and depth, it shows the hallmark elegance and purity of the estate, with sensational notes of kirsch liqueur, raspberries, incense, smoked meats and Asian spices. The blend is the normal 65% Grenache, 20% Mourvedre, 10% Syrah and the rest a mix of permitted varieties, brought up all in older foudre, and it's just now entering its prime drink window and has another two decades of longevity. Veeder exhibits a meaty, sweet nose of blue and black fruits as well as bouquet garni followed by a wine with full-bodied opulence, velvety tannins and a heady, long finish. It separates itself from the pack with a finish that lasts nearly a minute. It is an extraordinary effort as well as a brilliant example of Mt. Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon. Of the 2005 Chateau Montelena "Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "The 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon at age ten is still a young, vibrant, dense ruby/purple -colored wine with lots of classic cassis fruit and a touch of earth undertones. It offers relatively soft and silky tannins by the standards of Montelena, but they’re there. It is full-bodied, rich and impressive. Cabernet Sauvignon from the northern end of the Napa Valley in Calistoga tends to be the St.-Estèphe of Napa. This wine is certainly one of the great ones. 2009 Linne Calodo "Rising Tides" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum lot of 2009 Linne Calodo "Rising Tides" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (1.5L) (92RP, 91ST). 92 points Robert Parker: "The 2009 Rising Tides emerges from the glass with layers of dark red fruit, prunes, leather, licorice and spices. It is one of the deeper, more textured wines in this lineup owing to the significant presence of Mourvedre and Syrah. The plushness and darkness of the fruit carries through nicely to the muscular finish. The blend is 40% Mourvedre, 30% Syrah and 30% Grenache. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2017." (08/11) 91 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Assertive aromas of red berry preserves, Asian spices and floral oil; smells like there's more grenache in here. Stains the palate with musky red fruit and candied rose flavors, picking up spiciness with air. Very fresh and precise blend with strong finishing cut and an echo of sweet red fruit." (Nov/Dec 11)

2014 Ridge Vineyards "Estate" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2014 Ridge Vineyards "Estate" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon (93VN, 92RR, 91WS). Vinous: "One of the many highlights in this range, the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is terrific. The effects of the drought and resulting heat stress come through in the wine's structural feel and bold, incisive flavors. Even with all of its intensity, the 2014 has a certain silkiness in its tannins that makes it approachable today. Of course, the 2014 will be even better in another few years, but opening a bottle on the early side is not a crime. The 2014 spent 27 months in French oak. Readers who are looking for a more affordable alternative to Ridge's iconic Monte Bello should consider the 2014 Estate. Look for the Estate to be a real overachiever in 2014 as well as one of the best - possibly the best - California Cabernet in its price range. (AG)" (08/2017)

Full-bodied, rich and pure, but neither overbearing nor heavy, there is plenty of tannin, but it is cushioned by extravagant fruit and ripeness. It should drink well for a minimum of 20-25 years. 2013 Bedrock Wine Company "Weill Vineyard-Exposition Three" Sonoma Valley Syrah
Bid on this bottle of 2013 Bedrock Wine Company "Weill Vineyard-Exposition Three" Sonoma Valley Syrah (100RP, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The last of the three is the 2013 Syrah Exposition 3. Like its sibling, it is a 125-case cuvée of 84% Syrah and 16% cofermented Viognier. There was no inclusion of stems on this particular wine. This is the most La Mouline-like of the trio, no doubt because of the high percentage of Viognier, with extraordinary bacon fat, violets, lychee, black raspberry, sweet cherry, licorice and tapenade. The wine is velvety textured, full-bodied, but wonderfully pure, rich and striking. All three of these wines are incredible achievements in winemaking, and mind-blowing to someone like myself, who visited Guigal every year from 1978 to 2012 and would never have dreamed that someone in California, in addition to Manfred Krankl, could somehow pull off wines so similar to those from the Rhône Valley. Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 2009 Langoa-Barton, St-Julien (94RP, 93WE, 93WS, 92JS, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Served blind at the Southwold 2009 tasting. This is a superb performance from Langoa Barton. Here, the 2009 has a lifted, perfumed, Burgundy-inspired bouquet that is nicely defined but showing a little more unresolved oak than its peers. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit on the entry: strawberry, cedar and blackcurrant. This is strict and very linear, conservative but compelling. The class is here from start to finish and presently stands shoulder to shoulder with its “big bro’”. (NM)" (07/2013)

Stephens gets a slightly higher rating largely due to more complexity and better integration of the tannins, which seems to give the wine a more expansive nose, but this is a classic Napa Cabernet, with black fruits, loamy soil notes, a hint of bouquet garni, and lots of spice box and earth. 2005 Aubert "Reuling Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2005 Aubert "Reuling Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay (99RP, 95ST, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "There are 350 cases of the 2005 Chardonnay Reuling Vineyard, which comes from the Goldridge soils of this Sonoma Coast site. This Chardonnay comes from a clone suitcased over from the Montrachet vineyard in Burgundy. There is no doubting the liquid minerality, striking honeyed citrus, white currant, hazelnut, and brioche notes are more French than California, but the power and richness are pure New World. An absolutely remarkable Chardonnay that is certainly one of the top half dozen or so Chardonnays I have ever tasted from California, this is a stunningly proportioned, profound wine that should drink beautifully for 5-7 years, if you can resist it that long. Of the 2007 Beringer "Private Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "One of the finest Private Reserves made over the last two decades, this phenomenal wine is obviously still an infant in terms of development, but it exhibits a dense purple color as well as an extraordinary nose of blackberries, white chocolate, licorice, tobacco leaf, smoky barbecue, charcoal and a burning ember-like note reminiscent of a Graves from Bordeaux. A dense, luscious, full-bodied, opulent style, with sweet tannin, this locked and loaded, intense, full throttle Private Reserve should be accessible in 5-6 years and last for 25-30. (RP)"

2013 Ridge Vineyards "Estate" Santa Cruz Mountains Merlot
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2013 Ridge Vineyards "Estate" Santa Cruz Mountains Merlot (92VN, 90W&S). Vinous: "The 2013 Merlot Estate shows just how extraordinary this vintage is at Ridge. Far from an easygoing wine, the 2013 Merlot hits the palate with serious intensity and tannic heft. Dark and virile to the core, the 2013 is flat-out delicious. Even with all of its intensity, the 2013 retains the classic Ridge sense of mid-weight structure. Readers should plan on cellaring the 2013 for at least a few years. This is impressive stuff. 2005 Levy & McClellan Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (OWC)
Bid on this bottle of 2005 Levy & McClellan Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (OWC - 95RP, 94ST, 94VN) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A limited production of a very powerful and massive wine from two of California’s most famous winemaking gurus, Bob Levy and Martha McClellan, this wine remains primordial and backward, especially for a 2005. Loads of graphite notes interwoven with cassis, new saddle leather, blackberry and earth are impressive. It may sound unusual, but what came to mind is tasting some of the more recent vintages of Château Montrose in St-Estèphe in Bordeaux. This wine still needs another 5-6 years of cellaring easily. This masculine, vigorous, bigger-than-life, full-throttle wine will evolve for another 25-30 years. 95+ (RP)" (06/2015)

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 1999 Tenuta dell'Ornellaia "Ornellaia" Bolgheri Superiore (95VN, 94RP, 94ST, 94WS). Vinous: "I was blown away by the 1999 Ornellaia. Still fresh and youthful, it reveals a powerful, authoritative personality in its layers of primary fruit, with its opulence beautifully balanced by its big yet polished tannins. Another year or two of bottle age is probably called for but readers will have a hard time keeping their hands off this gorgeous wine. Given its considerable structure it should have no problem aging for another dozen years. In 1999 the blend consisted of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc. (AG)" (03/2007)

Of the 2003 Bond "Pluribus" Napa Valley Red Blend,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "The 2003 Pluribus (the debut vintage of this cuvee) performed spectacularly. Created from some of the estate’s youngest vines planted in decomposed white tufa volcanic soils at an elevation of 1,100 to 1,300 feet on Spring Mountain, it offers a stunning blue/purple color, copious quantities of blueberries, black raspberries and violet-infused fruit intermixed with hints of foresty flora. 1994 Joseph Phelps "Insignia" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 1994 Joseph Phelps "Insignia" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (98RP, 93VN, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1994 boasts an inky/purple color along with a glorious nose of black raspberries, blackberries and black currants that is still somewhat primary despite nearly 18 years in bottle. The Phelps team kept this cuvee in 100% new French oak for 28 months. Its magnificent structure, intensity and purity of fruit, ripeness, balance combined with authoritative power and the magnetic appeal of this full-bodied, Bordeaux-styled wine are extraordinary. This amazing effort is just coming into its best years, and should drink well for at least another 15-20 years. (RP)" (11/2013)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2002 Araujo "Eisele Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (99RP, 96WE, 95ST, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Araujo’s spectacular 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon Eisele Vineyard is a 1,700-case blend of 96% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot from a vineyard tucked in the lower hillsides of northeastern Napa Valley, not far from the quaint town of Calistoga. Araujo has enjoyed an incredible string of top-notch vintages from 2001 through 2005 and again from 2008 through 2010. Extremely youthful at age ten, the 2002 is a candidate for perfection. Its dense blue/purple hue is followed by abundant aromas of cassis, incense, crushed rocks and spring flowers. Full-bodied and opulent as well as pure, rich and authoritative, with abundant but beautifully integrated tannins, this opulent, plush 2002 can be drunk now or cellared for another 20-25 years. Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2010 Burguet Chambertin Clos de Beze Grand Cru ((92-94BH), (92-94RP)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Chambertin-Clos de Beze shows plenty of muscle in its dark red fruit, minerals, mint and licorice. The Beze is naturally very tightly wound, but there is more than enough depth and density to think it will be marvelous over time. The tension and energy of the finish are fabulous. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Bonnes Mares is a dense, powerful wine imbued with massive structure and dazzling finesse. This is one of the more imposing, inward wines of the vintage, and it will require serious patience. That notwithstanding, the wine’s balance and sense of harmony are impossible to miss. Clair’s Bonnes Mares is made from a portion of the vineyard on the Morey border, right next to Clos de Tart. The fruit was harvested on September 17, on the late side in 2009. This is a blend of 80% Syrah, 7% Petite Sirah, 6% Mourvèdre, 3.5% Touriga National and 3.5% Viognier, fermented with 28% whole clusters and aged 25 months in 65% new French oak. 2011 Opus One Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (OWC)
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2011 Opus One Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (OWC - 94VN, 92JS, 90ST) in original wood. Vinous: "The 2011 Opus One comes across as quite powerful and intense. Raspberry jam, rose petals, savory herbs and mint, all come together beautifully in the glass. The tannins are going to need a few years to soften, but the 2011 continues to develop very nicely in bottle. This is a very strong showing, especially within the context of the year. The 2011 is dark and even a bit rough round the edges, particularly when tasted alongside the surrounding vintages. The lithe, mid-weight, savory style is at times more Old World than New, yet all the elements are in the right place. (AG)" (12/2014)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Pinot Noir Marcassin Vineyard is a gorgeous, clearly California version of a grand cru from Burgundy, such as Clos Saint-Denis or Clos de la Roche. This deep plum/garnet-colored wine offers intense berry fruit along with forest floor, spice box, earth and loads of plum, cherry and strawberry notes, moving toward darker fruits, as well as earthy, autumnal, foresty scents.
