2009 Rhys "Swan Terrace - Alpine Vineyard" Santa Cruz Mountains Pinot Noir
Bid on this bottle of 2009 Rhys "Swan Terrace - Alpine Vineyard" Santa Cruz Mountains Pinot Noir (95BH, 95ST, 93RP). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright ruby. Pure, expressive red fruit and floral aromas are complicated by star anise, cinnamon and allspice, with a lively mineral undertone adding vivacity. Impressively precise in the mouth, offering sappy strawberry and raspberry flavors and an intensely spicy character. The finish features a note of candied flowers and hangs on with outstanding tenacity. Remarkably delineated and vibrant Pinot Noir. (ST)" (06/2011)

2006 Heitz Cellar "Martha's Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2006 Heitz Cellar "Martha's Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Wine Spectator: "There's much to admire in this young Martha's, though it lacks the accessibility of the 2005. The core mint-chocolate-covered cherry and berry flavors are tight and structured, true to the vintage, so it's best to cellar this one and see what happens. The wait is usually worth it. 2005 Faiveley Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2005 Faiveley Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru ((93-95BH)). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "An interesting if slightly odd nose of reduction and menthol notes added to wild, ripe and layered red berry fruit aromas that complement the gamy and completely backward flavors that are highly complex and possess a firm and mouth coating texture. This isn't necessarily a wine of finesse or elegance but there is character to burn and as usual, I quite like this. In a word, stunning." (01/2007)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2011 Mouton Rothschild Aile d'Argent Bordeaux Blanc (95JS, (90-92RP), 91WE, 90VN, 90WS). James Suckling: "This is a Bordeaux white from Mouton-Rothschild with the density and richness of a serious white Burgundy, but the sémillon in the blend gives it an exotic dried-fruit character, with plenty of pineapple and mango. Full and rich. Best ever from here. Decant now or hold for three or four years. 60% sauvignon blanc, 38% sémillon and 2% muscadelle. Drink or hold." (02/2014)

2013 Kosta Browne "Garys' Vineyard" Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2013 Kosta Browne "Garys' Vineyard" Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir (95CG, 93VN, 92WS, 91RP). Connoisseurs Guide: " *Three Stars* Pinots from this well-regarded vineyard are rarely wanting in richness, and while this one convincingly makes just that point, it shows a degree of crafting and polish that very few do. It is rich, it is concentrated and it is surprisingly complex in its youth with layers of creamy oak, subtle herbs, spice and brioche underpinned by deep and ongoing, ripe cherry fruit. It is showy stuff, but it is also terrifically well-balanced, and even if there is nothing about it that dissuades drinking now, there is plenty to suggest that it is some years away from reaching its very considerable best." Bid on this 6-magnum lot of 2009 Domaine Ponsot Morey-St-Denis Blanc 1er Cru "Clos des Monts Luisants" Vieilles Vignes (1.5L) ((89-91BH)). Allen Meadows - Burghound writes: "Primarily from old vines Aligoté planted in 1911; Laurent Ponsot once told me that this wine has rarely gone through malo and the only years that it has are 1959, 1982 and 2007. Note that the last time this wine was 100% Aligoté was in 1964. Strong reduction presently dominates the nose though there is plenty of verve and punch to the beautifully detailed and mineral-driven middle weight flavors that possess fine richness but absolutely no sense of heaviness on the long finish." 2000 Ridge "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2000 Ridge "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon (95AG, 92ST, 90RP). Antonio Galloni: "Do you want the good news or the bad news? Well, Ridge's 2000 Monte Bello is still not ready to drink. Huge, rich and voluptuous, but backed up be serious structure, the 2000 is still a very, very young wine. Readers who own the 2000 should be thrilled. With time in the glass, the 2000 starts to open up a little bit aromatically, but the tannins remain imposing. Hints of tobacco, iron, smoke, savory herbs, leather and licorice all add nuance on the close. This dramatic, brooding Monte Bello will likely drink well for another three decades. In 2000, Montebello is 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Merlot and 2% Cabernet Franc. " (07/2013)

2005 Beringer "Private Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (375ml)
Bid on this 4-half-bottle lot of 2005 Beringer "Private Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (375ml) (95RP, 94ST, 93W&S, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Beringer’s 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon Private Reserve comes from the top selection from all their different holdings, with each vineyard aged separately for close to two years, then blended for quality. This blend of 95% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc is a gorgeous example of the Private Reserve. Of course, it probably suffers from the fact that Beringer is part of a gigantic international conglomerate, but this is just a stunning wine – inky purple, with plenty of cassis, a hint of espresso, subtle background oak and forest notes. The color is opaque and the wine full-bodied and opulent, with sweet tannin and a multilayered mouthfeel. It has silky tannins, good freshness and uplifting acid, which should ensure a considerable longevity of 15-20 additional years. This is a stunner. (RP)" (06/2015)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Hundred Acre "Ancient Way Vineyard - Deep Time - Summer's Block" Barossa Valley Shiraz (OWC - 94ST) in original wood. Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Dark purple. Deeply pitched black and blue fruit compote, singed plum, cola and mocha scents are complemented by notes of violet pastille and licorice. Broad, palate-coating blackberry liqueur and fruitcake flavors show striking depth and a plush, velvety texture. Decadently rich but surprisingly lively, finishing with superb power and thrust and smooth, late-arriving tannins." (07/2014)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2011 Peter Michael "L'Apres Midi" Knights Valley Sauvignon Blanc (93VN, 92RP, 92ST, 91WS). Vinous: "One of my long-time favorites in this range, the 2011 Sauvignon Blanc L'Apres-Midi is gorgeous in this vintage. Citrus lychee, jasmine, melon, fig, smoke, and pear notes all flesh out in the glass. The 2011 is impeccably layered and balanced from start to finish. Hints of lemon oil and white flowers add brightness on the crisp, bracing finish. The blocked malo style works particularly well here. The 2011 is 95% Sauvignon (1/3rd Musque) and 5% Semillon. 2011 Sine Qua Non "Dark Blossom" California Syrah
Bid on this bottle of 2011 Sine Qua Non "Dark Blossom" California Syrah (99RP, 96VN, (94-95ST)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2011 Syrah Dark Blossom showed even better from bottle than barrel. A blend of 84% Syrah, 8% Grenache, 4% Petite Sirah and the rest Roussanne and Petite Manseng, this beauty was fermented with 17% whole clusters and aged in equal parts new and used French oak. One of the shining successes in the vintage, it’s a full-bodied, concentrated and layered Syrah that has awesome aromatics of blackcurrants, Peking duck, pepper, licorice and charcuterie in its seamless, thrillingly pure profile. As with Manfred’s other 2011s, the tannins are certainly present, yet they’re sweet, polished and have no hard edges. Give this beauty 2-3 years in the cellar and enjoy bottles through 2031. 2009 Einaudi "Costa Grimaldi" Barolo
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2009 Einaudi "Costa Grimaldi" Barolo (94RP, 92ST, 92WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Barolo Costa Grimaldi is painted with broader brush strokes. It delivers immediate tones of black fruit, spice and nutmeg. Give it time in the glass and a background chorus of cola, tar, licorice and brimstone slowly increase in volume and tone. The mouthfeel is forceful, but finessed, with bright acidity and integrated tannins. Despite the warm vintage, the wine is beautifully crafted and will withstand the years. The style here is decidedly vinous, an intense wine with considerable textural volume and breadth. Sweet, lush and deep, with outstanding clarity and lift to the pure flavors of red cherry, raspberry and flint. Pristine and very long on the vibrant finish, which features extremely sophisticated tannins and superb length. The wine's minerally, flinty quality runs through from nose to aftertaste. The flavors of red and black currants, milk chocolate, figs and smoky vanilla erupt in the mouth, making the tastebuds jump with joy. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The blend in 2003 was 62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Merlot (a very high percentage), 3% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot. The wine, unlike most 2003s, has a freshness and liveliness provided by their extraordinary terroir. This wine can be drunk now. It has a dense bluish/purple color to the rim and an extraordinary nose of blueberries and mulberries, with blacker cassis and blackberry entering the picture. Scorched earth, spice and licorice are all present in this magnificent, full-bodied, opulent wine that is very Montrose, very classic and somewhat atypical of the vintage. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The deep ruby/purple-tinged 2003 Pinot Noir Ten offers up stunning aromas of violets, creme de cassis, cherries, and flowers. It is an extraordinary wine that coats the palate with great viscosity, richness, and layers of flavor. There is a seamless integration of wood, acidity, tannin, and alcohol. A tour de force, this exquisite example of Pinot Noir from the Santa Rita Hills should drink well for a decade. This wine was bottled about six weeks before I tasted it, which is usually a difficult period for many wines, even those bottled naturally. A stunning Cabernet Sauvignon and a classic example of Napa viticulture, this blend of 75.5% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec, was aged just over two years in oak. Loads of sweet blackcurrant fruit, cocoa, a touch of toast, earth, and baking spice are all present in this wine that has terrific fruit on the attack and mid-palate, a full-bodied mouthfeel, no hard edges and a luscious, opulent, gorgeously pure style. Drink it over the next 10-15 years. Although I wouldn’t be surprised to see it last longer. Wine Spectator: "**Highly Recommended and #18 in Top 100 Wines of 2007** This powerful red is rich and thick on the palate, even syrupy, with ripe flavors of blueberry and cassis and plenty of espresso-scented oak. But it's not jammy. Fresh and balanced, this carries its considerable alcohol with grace. Not traditional in style, but impressive. (TM)" (10/2007)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 1998 Greenock Creek "Apricot Block" Shiraz Barossa Valley South Australia (94RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A backward wine is the 1998 Shiraz Apricot Block. Made from relatively young vines (7 years in age), this 100% Shiraz shows an opaque garnet/purple color and a sweet nose of melted asphalt, smoke, blackberry, and cassis. Extremely full-bodied with great intensity, tremendous purity, and impeccable overall harmony among its rather large-scale elements, this dense, super-extracted wine should be at its best between 2004-2020. Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2001 d'Arenberg "The Dead Arm" Shiraz McLaren Vale South Australia (98RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Readers should be on the look out for the 2001 The Dead Arm Shiraz, one of the greatest examples of this cuvee. Its dense, black/purple color is accompanied by celestial aromas of melted licorice, graphite, blackberries, cassis, incense, anise, and toasty oak. Fabulously concentrated, with great purity, an unctuous, viscous texture, and an amazingly long, 60-second plus finish, this fabulous baby will need 5-6 years of cellaring, and should drink well over the following 20-25 years." 2008 Sine Qua Non "B 20" Syrah
Bid on this bottle of 2008 Sine Qua Non "B 20" Syrah (95RP, 94JS, 94ST, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2008 Syrah B-20 is a cool, inward wine graced with layers of beautifully delineated, chiseled fruit. This is a distinctly mineral, precise style relative to the more outgoing 2009, but both are striking. Floral notes add lift as the finish turns explosive with a burst of dark fruit, tar, licorice and crushed rocks. This is one of the more understated wines readers are likely to come across from Sine Qua Non. It is gorgeous when given the time to open up. The B-20 is predominantly Syrah, with 6% Grenache and 2% Viognier. About half of the Grenache was fermented with whole clusters and the wine was aged in French oak (60% new) for 26 months. 2010 Brewer-Clifton "Mt. Carmel Vineyard" Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 Brewer-Clifton "Mt. Carmel Vineyard" Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir (93RP, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Pinot Noir Mount Carmel is gorgeous. A burst of dark red fruit makes a positive first impression, but everything about the 2010 speaks of balance. The use of whole clusters is not as evident here as elsewhere. Layers of flavors continue to flesh out on the broad-shouldered frame. The Mt. Carmel is a wine of exceptional balance and pure pedigree. It is easily one of the highlights among the new releases. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2018. Steve Clifton describes the 2010 harvest as 2-3 weeks later than normal. The Pinots were brought in during the second and third weeks of September, in between the heat spikes, while the Chardonnays were harvested later, once temperatures cooled off . The 2010s are beautiful, transparent wines that capture the essence of the vintage and their respective sites." (08/2012)

Of the 2007 DuMol "Eoin" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir,Connoisseurs Guide writes: "Sourced from the Hyde Family Sonoma Stage Vineyard, this very deep working focuses on classic cherry-like fruit with touches of raspberry, red plums and dried violets providing a personality all its own, and it is sweetened with a little more evident oak than is shown by its mates. It is supple, full-bodied and yet very well polished on palate with potent, well-extracted flavors that are just beginning to hint at complexity. Age is bound to bring out more layers, and it would a genuine shame if were to be drunk up before it shows its full potential." (02/2010)

Of the 2003 Frederic Magnien Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru "Borniques",Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar writes: "Red-ruby. Vibrant aromas of framboise, white pepper and chocolate. Creamy but firm, with intense red fruit and spice flavors enlivened by the wine's underlying minerality. Distinctly chalky wine, with uncommon energy and precision for 2003. Finishes very subtle and long, with tannins that spread out to dust the palate. Along with the Clos de Beze, this cuvee has the healthiest pH in 2003, says Frederic. (ST)" (03/2005)

2002 Gibson Shiraz Barossa Valley
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2002 Gibson Shiraz Barossa Valley (95RP, 94WS, 90JH). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "While hardly a bargain, no one should complain about the screw cap-finished $45, 95-point 2002 Shiraz. A stunning effort produced from 10- to 150-year-old vines, it was aged in both French and American oak. According to importer Dan Philips, proprietor/winemaker Rob Gibson, a vineyard manager at Penfolds for many years, is a knowledgeable specialist in old vine Barossa vineyard sites. Gibson has fashioned an opulent, rich, blackberry, charcoal-infused, full throttle 2002 Shiraz offering adequate acidity, a wealth of fruit and glycerin, and a long, heady finish. (RP)" (10/2004)
