1989 Paul Jaboulet Aîné "La Chapelle" Hermitage
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1989 Paul Jaboulet Aîné "La Chapelle" Hermitage (100JS, 96RP, 96WS). James Suckling: "I have always been a huge fan of this wine, with incredible depth and richness of character. Dried meat, game, berry, spice, asphalt and tar. Full body with layers of ripe tannins and spice. It goes on for minutes on the finish. This is a fabulously spicy with black pepper, cinnamon, cloves, black truffles, sous bois and licorice. Decant two or three hours before serving. Purity and balance. This is the legendary 1961 again." (12/2014)

1999 Sine Qua Non "XL" California Rosé (375ml)
Bid on this half-bottle of 1999 Sine Qua Non "XL" California Rosé (375ml). SQN's rosé style is darker and more full-bodied than a typical rosé, and it also carries a longer drinking window. Of Sine Qua Non, Robert Parker writes: "...I am beginning to understand why they are so much greater than just about every other Syrah or Grenache-based wine in California. In short, it is talent and incredibly meticulous hard work. No one works as hard or is as maniacal about a vineyard’s viticulture and winemaking as Manfred Krankl. Take that, add in exceptional talent, humility, top-notch vineyards, and I believe I understand the fundamentals of why these wines are so special." (08/07)

2008 Marcassin "Marcassin Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2008 Marcassin "Marcassin Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay (100RP, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Utterly perfect, the 2008 Chardonnay Marcassin Estate is a dead-ringer for the 2007, but slightly richer and longer, as hard as that may be to believe. This extraordinary effort is unquestionably the 'Chardonnay of the Vintage.' In fact, it may be the 'Chardonnay of the Decade.' Brioche, nectarine, citrus and orange blossom notes intermixed with a liqueur of rocks, great acid, phenomenal concentration and staggering length result in a sublime Chardonnay that should drink well for 15+ years. 2009 Abreu "Thorevilos" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2009 Abreu "Thorevilos" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (98RP, 97VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Thorevilos displays a stunningly blue/purple color along with an exceptional nose of blueberry and blackberry liqueur intermixed with espresso, white chocolate and violets. With unbelievable intensity, a great, full-bodied mouthfeel, stunning purity, a subtle hint of wood, but no hard edges, this is one 2009 that does not have that broodingly tannic structure that is common in this vintage. This sensational effort can be drunk early on or cellared for another three decades. (RP)" (10/2013)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2011 Henri Boillot Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru "Les Combettes" ((92-94RP), 93BH, 90ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2011 Puligny-Montrachet Les Combettes is weightless, gracious and impeccable. Soft, floral notes dominate, giving the wine much of its understated, polished personality. A bright, caressing finish rounds things out nicely in this open, approachable Puligny. (AG)" (04/2012)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 Domaine Roulot Meursault 1er Cru "Charmes" (96RP, 95ST, (92-94BH)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "In 2010, the Meursault Charmes is defined by precision and cut. A pure, crystalline wine, it shows fabulous balance and tons of pedigree. White stone fruits, pears, apples and jasmine all come to life as the wine virtually sparkles on the palate with its irrepressible energy. The finish is exceptionally beautiful, polished and vibrant. 2012 Hundred Acre "Precious" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (OWC)
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2012 Hundred Acre "Precious" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (OWC - 96RP, 94WS) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Precious is firmer, with the oak showing more than in any of the other cuvées. The wine is very intense and had just been blended, so I suspect it is not completely all together. It should drink well for 20-25 years as well. The genius of Jayson Woodbridge is not in dispute. A bigger than life character, he has a certain personal flamboyance and no-prisoners-taken persona, but what he and his team do in the vineyards and winery speaks for itself. These are remarkable wines, with his Cabernet Sauvignons some of the very finest in the world, and his Pinot Noir projects all high quality and pleasing to a multitude of diverse palates. 96+ (RP)" (08/2015)

Bid on this bottle of 1993 Domaine Méo-Camuzet Clos Vougeot Grand Cru (93BH). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "The expressive and highly complex nose is now almost completely secondary but note that there is no sous bois present. There is excellent richness to the velvety and seductively textured medium-bodied flavors that possess excellent power and plenty of verve on the mouth coating and impressively long finish. This is now drinking perfectly as the supporting tannins are almost completely resolved and it should continue to do so for many years to come as the balance is impeccable. 1982 Mouton-Rothschild, Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 1982 Mouton-Rothschild, Pauillac (100JS, 100RP, 98ST, 98WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This wine remains one of the legends of Bordeaux. It has thrown off the backward, youthful style that existed during its first 25 years of life, and over the last 4-5 years has developed such secondary nuances as cedar and spice box. The creme de cassis, underlying floral note, full-bodied power, extraordinary purity, multilayered texture, and finish of over a minute are a showcase for what this Chateau accomplished in 1982. The wine is still amazingly youthful, vibrant, and pure. It appears capable of remaining fruity and vibrant in 2082! Thank God it is beginning to budge, as I would like to drink most of my supply before I kick the bucket. This is a great, still youthful wine, and, on occasion, one does understand the hierarchy of Bordeaux chateaux when you see the complexity and brilliance of this first-growth. (RP)" (06/2009)

1996 Margaux, Margaux
Bid on this bottle of 1996 Margaux, Margaux (99RP, 96ST, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1996 Chateau Margaux, which was bottled in September 1998, is undoubtedly one of the great classics produced under the Mentzelopoulos regime. In many respects it is the quintessential Chateau Margaux, as well as the paradigm for this estate, combining measured power, extraordinary elegance, and admirable complexity. I tasted the wine of three separate occasions in January, and in short, it's a beauty! The color is opaque purple. The wine offers extraordinarily pure notes of blackberries, cassis, pain grille, and flowers, gorgeous sweetness, a seamless personality, and full body, with nothing out of place. (RP)" (04/1999)

This wine shows complex forest floor notes, damp earth and Asian plum sauce interwoven with blackcurrant and black cherry as well as hints of underbrush and spring flowers. Deep, rich, complex and showing loads of fruit, it should be drunk over the next 5-7 years." (10/2015)

Highly perfumed, expressive aromas of dark fruits, flowers and chocolate. Then less open in the mouth but at least as concentrated as the Brulees; offers a compelling combination of power and perfume. Quite deep and sweet but still holding a good bit in reserve. 1997 Harlan Estate Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this bottle of 1997 Harlan Estate Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (100RP, 97WS, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1997 Harlan Estate is one of the greatest Cabernet Sauvignon-based wines I have ever tasted. A blend of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, with the rest Merlot and Cabernet Franc, this enormously-endowed, profoundly rich wine must be tasted to be believed. Opaque purple-colored, it boasts spectacular, soaring aromatics of vanilla, minerals, coffee, blackberries, licorice, and cassis. In the mouth, layer after layer unfold powerfully yet gently. Acidity, tannin, and alcohol are well-balanced by the wine's unreal richness and singular personality. The finish exceeds one minute. (RP)" (12/2000)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2008 Second Flight emerges from the glass with black cherries, plums, mocha, espresso and chocolate. This is an especially round, rich vintage for Second Flight. All the elements are in the right place, but overall, 2008 does not appear to be one of the estate’s very finest years. Of course, that is in relative terms. The 2008 is 53% Cabernet Sauvignon and 47% Merlot. Anticipated maturity: 2016-2028. I have had a number of fabulous tastings at Screaming Eagle, but this was one of the most memorable ... Bid on this 3-half-bottle lot of 1996 Lafite-Rothschild, Pauillac (375ml) (100RP, 96ST, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: " ... The wine exhibits a thick-looking, ruby/purple color, and a knock-out nose of lead pencil, minerals, flowers, and black currant scents. Extremely powerful and full-bodied, with remarkable complexity for such a young wine, this huge Lafite is oozing with extract and richness, yet has managed to preserve its quintessentially elegant personality. This wine is even richer than it was prior to bottling. It should unquestionably last for 40-50 years. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2050. The wine of the vintage? (RP)" (04/1999)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A remarkable wine, the 2010 Shafer Cabernet Sauvignon Hillside Select has gone from strength to strength since it was in cask. It is stunningly rich, with classic, fragrant notes of blackcurrants, blackberries, vanilla, graphite and spring flowers. It exhibits an opaque purple color, with a full-bodied, massive mouthfeel, but no heaviness, and again, a flawless integration of acidity, tannin, alcohol and wood. It’s classic California Cabernet, but beautifully put together, showing impeccable craftsmanship and fabulous potential. This is obviously a very young, infantile style of Cabernet that won’t hit its prime for at least another decade and last close to half a century, based on how older vintages that were less well-endowed have matured from Shafer. 2007 Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey Meursault 1er Cru "Les Perrieres"
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2007 Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey Meursault 1er Cru "Les Perrieres" (95W&S, 94RP, 94ST, 93BH, 92WS). Wine & Spirits: "Perrières is the site of an old stone quarry, a walled vineyard near the border with Puligny, where Pierre Morey purchased 1.28 acres in 1987. He has farmed this parcel under biodynamic practices since 1998. It produced a flashy, Old World style of Burgundy in 2007, a heady mix of beeswax, wildflower honey, freshly churned butter, earthier notes of mushrooms and fresher scents of lemon zest. The wine's grand complexity all emanates from the chalky stone character at its center. One of our panelists, Mariko Kobayashi, commented that 'the wine has identity rather than personality.' It's all about the terroir rather than the winemaker, and it is magnificent terroir." (10/2009)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1990 Auguste Clape Cornas (91RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Clape's 1990 Cornas is outstanding. The color is an opaque black/purple, and the nose offers up rich, ripe aromas of black fruits, licorice, and spices. Superconcentrated, with a full-bodied, highly extracted, mouth-filling taste, this example of Cornas possesses moderate tannin, adequate acidity, and a smashingly long finish. It is also relatively refined for a Cornas, displaying no signs of the rustic tannin or funky, earthy smells many Cornas can possess. (RP)" (01/1997)

Wonderful aromas of black raspberries, blueberries, black currants and flowers jump from the glass of this dark ruby/purple-tinged Cabernet. As I have stated before, if Chateau Margaux were in Napa Valley, it would be Spottswoode. The purity, balance and delicacy of this wine are impressive. Guigal "La Turque" Côte-Rôtie,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "Getting a few expletives in my notes, the 2003 Cote Rotie La Turque is more structured and powerful, with a youthful purple color giving way to meaty, bloody characteristics that are intermixed with creme de cassis, roasted meats, licorice and leather. Full-bodied, seamless and layered, with incredible depth, purity and texture, it needs a few more years over the La Mouline to fully stretch out, but will have three decades or more when all is said and done. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2011 Sine Qua Non "Patine - Eleven Confessions Vineyard" Santa Rita Hills Syrah (98RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A wine that needs to be forgotten in the cellar for 5-6 years, the 2011 Syrah Patine checks in as a blend of roughly 97% Syrah and the balance Roussanne and Viognier. It too comes all from the estate's Eleven Confessions Vineyard and saw 39 months in 63% new French oak. Backward, tight, concentrated and structured, with full-bodied richness and depth, it gives up Guigal La Landonne like aromas and flavors of graphite, sweet oak, smoked meats, pepper and black raspberry and cassis-like fruit. While it shows the vintage's cooler nature, it has a stacked mid-palate and will evolve gracefully for 15-20 years. (JD)" (08/2015)

2012 Aubert "Ritchie Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2012 Aubert "Ritchie Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay (95RP, 95VN, 94WS). Vinous: "The 2012 Chardonnay Ritchie Vineyard is a wine of pure texture. Lemon, white flowers, dried pears, mint and spices meld together in the glass. Absolutely nothing is out of place here. The flavors are vivid, intense and layered. Readers may notice a slightly cloudy color in the 2012, which is the result of one tank that had an especially late malolactic fermentation ... (AG)" (01/2014)

2010 Saxum "Heart Stone Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 Saxum "Heart Stone Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (95RP, 95VN, 94ST, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "More dense and rich, the 2010 Heart Stone Vineyard is a co-fermented blend of 51% Syrah and 49% Grenache that comes from a small 7-acre, south-facing vineyard located on the western side of Paso Robles. Aged mostly in large oak puncheons for 20-28 months, it offers up a savory, complex bouquet of kirsch and blackberry-like fruit, meat juice, Provencal herbs, dried licorice, and dusty minerality. Gorgeous on the palate as well, with a deft, elegant texture, building richness, and layers of chewy tannin, this beauty is reasonably approachable now, yet will be even better in 2-3 years. It will drink well for 12-15 years. (JD)" (07/2014)

Of the 2011 Kosta Browne "Keefer Ranch" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir,Connoisseurs Guide writes: " *Three Stars* We have often found a singular and very identifiable purity to the fruit of Russian River's best Pinot sites, and this lovely version from Keefer Ranch is perfect example of just that. It is optimally ripened and very rich right from the first with a long and very deep complement of juicy, red-cherry fruit, and its teasing suggestions of sweet oak and dried flowers only make a good thing even better. It manages to be lively and lithe and fairly substantial all at once, and its lengthy, amazingly vital finish further marks it as a decidedly collectable wine ... " (10/2013)

The fruit was sourced entirely from the Palengat Vineyard. Pain grille, pencil lead, Asian spices, incense, violets, dried herbs, black currant, and blackberry aromas compose the bouquet of this impeccably balanced offering. Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 1999 Peter Michael "La Carrière" Sonoma County Chardonnay (91RP, 90ST, 90WE, 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1999 Chardonnay La Carriere emerges from estate vineyards planted at elevations of 1600-1800 feet, with a gradient of nearly 40. The 1999 La Carriere reveals roasted hazelnut/stony characteristics along with abundant spice, buttered pears, and guava-like fruit. Produced from extremely low yields of 1.7 tons of fruit per acre, it possesses a creamy texture, exotic fruit on the mid-palate, and a ripe, rich finish with fine underlying acidity. It is a brilliant Chardonnay...(RP)" (12/2000)

Louis employs 100% destemming, cold maceration of 4 to 6 days, never permits the temperature of his musts to exceed 32 to 33 degrees Centigrade and a total cuvaison of 15 to 21 days. 2001 Margaux, Margaux
Bid on this bottle of 2001 Margaux, Margaux (97WE, 93RP, 93ST, 92WS). Wine Enthusiast: "'For me, this vintage is what makes Margaux special,' says Margaux winemaker Paul Pontallier. He is right: With its denseness, spice, flavors of black currants layered with dryness and fresh acidity, this is a huge and impressive wine that never forgets that it is Margaux. It is still young, and the dry tannic aftertaste, which lasts for many minutes, shows this." (06/2005)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1998 Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe "La Crau" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (95RP, 94WE, 94WS, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Between 1978 and 2007, this 1998 is the greatest Vieux Telegraphe that was produced. It has taken a good decade for this wine to shed its tannins and come out of a dormant, closed period. It has finally emerged, and notes of iodine, seaweed, black currants, incense, and sweet cherries as well as hot rocks jump from the glass of this full-bodied, powerful wine. It possesses considerable elegance and purity, along with loads of raspberries and incense, in a round, juicy, rich style that is just emerging from the closet. The wine is still youthful and a pre-adolescent in terms of its ultimate evolution. Approachable now, it will continue to evolve for another 15-20 years. Bravo! (RP)" (06/2010)

2011 Sine Qua Non "Patine - Eleven Confessions Vineyard" Santa Rita Hills Grenache
Bid on this bottle of 2011 Sine Qua Non "Patine - Eleven Confessions Vineyard" Santa Rita Hills Grenache (97RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Coming all from Manfred's Eleven Confessions Vineyard in the Sta. Rita Hills and a blend of 77% Grenache, 22% Syrah and 1% Viognier (fermented with 25% whole clusters), the 2011 Grenache Patine spent a full 33 months in almost all neutral oak, with just 11% being new. It offers perfumed and spice-laced notes of white pepper, black raspberry, blackberry and ground herbs that flow to a full-bodied, elegant, nicely concentrated 2011 that has nicely integrated acidity, no hard edges and a terrific finish. It's certainly one of the fresher, more elegant Grenaches from Manfred, yet it still has rocking levels of fruit. Give it 2-3 years of cellaring and enjoy bottles over the following decade. 1995 Domaine Maume Gevrey Chambertin ''En Pallud''
Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 1995 Domaine Maume Gevrey Chambertin ''En Pallud''. Allen Meadows reports this update from Maume: "Maume is someone who is always tinkering with his approach and since he took over from his father has instituted any number of important changes. As of 2005 he has instituted two more and has bought a destemmer that he uses to eliminate 100% of the stems but now is preserving a very high percentage of whole berries for the fermentation. The second major change is that he has eliminated all machine pumps so as to more gently treat the musts and new wines. Lastly, Maume said that he bought another pneumatic press that was capable of handling small lots so that he wasn't losing too much time with the bigger lots that might be waiting for the press to finish when he was pressing small quantities. The risk of waiting is that any damaged fruit may oxidize if left exposed to air for any significant time."

A racy iron note is now in full throat on the finish. The commanding minerality should carry this through a second stage of life. (Web- 2012)"

1974 Robert Mondavi "Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 1974 Robert Mondavi "Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (93RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A consistent star of the vintage, this fully mature wine exhibits no sign of losing its fruit. The color is saturated dark plum/garnet with slight amber at the edge. The bouquet has always been ostentatious, with pungent aromas of cassis, pepper, herbs, licorice, cedar, and Asian spices. Full-bodied and superbly balanced, with that layered, expansive richness found in top, highly extracted wines, the acidity is low but sound, and the tannin has nearly melted away. This stunning, opulent, complex California Cabernet Sauvignon should continue to drink well for another decade or more." (06/1994)

2010 Cayuse "Armada Vineyard" Walla Walla Valley Syrah (OWC)
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2010 Cayuse "Armada Vineyard" Walla Walla Valley Syrah (OWC - 97RP, 97WE, 95ST, 93WS) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Christophe’s Armada Vineyard Syrah has slowly become one of my favorite releases and the 2010 Syrah Armada Vineyard does nothing to dampen my growing enthusiasm for the vineyard. From a high-density planting in 2001 that lies just behind the winemaking facility (or 'studio' if you’re talking with Christophe), it offers up a brilliant bouquet of sweet kirsch and plum liqueur intermixed with notions of bacon fat, wild herbs, ground pepper and liquid rock. Evolving beautifully with air and incredibly complex aromatically, it is full-bodied, voluptuously textured and delivers serious levels of fruit and richness without ever seeming the least bit heavy or cumbersome. Count me a fan and this knockout Syrah will stand toe-to-toe with the best in the world. Give bottles another 2-3 years of bottle age and enjoy over the following 1
