2011 Domaine Henri Bonneau "Marie Beurrier" Chateauneuf-du-Pape (Previously $200)

90-93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2011 Châteauneuf du Pape Cuvee Marie Beurrier is similar in style, yet just a touch more reserved and tight, with a more serious feel in its black cherry, saddle leather, pepper and meaty bouquet. Medium-bodied to full-bodied, nicely balanced and fresh, it seems much more reserved than I recall from last year, but possibly it’s just due to following the much more open, sexy, classic cuvée. With the recent passing of Henri Bonneau early in 2016, this iconic estate is at a crossroads. The winemaking is now in the hands of Henri’s son, Marcel Bonneau ...Read More »

Small Hand Raspberry Gum Syrup (8.5 oz.)

If you like to make cocktails at home, you should not be without the range of syrups available from Bay Area bartender Jennifer Colliau's Small Hand Foods. Her gum syrups, in particular, not only add sweetness, but viscosity, helping you make cocktails of depth and texture. Raspberry Gum Syrup can also be used as a substitute for grenadine. Colliau uses organic raspberries for a syrup that is bright, voluptuous and packed with berry flavor. Great for fizzes, in a Clover Club or a Maiden's Blush, according to Colliau.

2014 Artuke "Pies Negros" Rioja (Previously $25)

Arturo and Kike (Artuke, get it?) Miguel Blanco are amongst a new wave of younger Rioja producers, producing wines from great quality, organically farmed vineyards, very carefully considering oak usage (in this case barrels are 1-4 year old, nothing new) and concerned less with the aging conventions (Crianza, Reserva, Gran Reserva) of the past, more with forging a new path for original, village and vineyard defined wines for the future. This example is from 30-90 year old Tempranillo (90%) and Graciano (10%) from Abalos.

2013 Suduiraut, Sauternes (Previously $70)

97 points James Suckling: "This is phenomenal with superb depth and texture. Full-bodied, very sweet, yet the bright acidity balances the wine out. Creamy mouthfeel with phenolic undertones. Great finish. This wine has a great future. Better in 2021 but already great." (2/2016) 94-96 points Vinous: "The 2013 Suduiraut is magnificent. A bold, direct Sauternes, the 2013 hits the palate with an exotic mélange of apricot jam, lychee, spices, mint and honey. One of the bigger, deeper wines of the vintage, the Suduiraut is firing on all cylinders today. This is a great showing. (AG)" (4/2014) 94-96 points Wine Enthusiast: "Barrel Sample. 2004 Turley "Duarte" Contra Costa County Zinfandel (Previously $50)

91-92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "An impressively endowed offering is the big, rich 2004 Zinfandel Duarte Vineyard. There are usually fewer than 500 cases of this effort, which generally reveals southern Rhone-like garrigue characteristics along with plenty of soil overtones, fresh black cherries, and a spicy, heady finish. (RP)" (12/2005) Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Deep ruby-red. Aromas of dark berry liqueur, dark chocolate, menthol and pepper. Fat and silky if a bit aggressive with alcohol; slightly roasted flavors of black berry and licorice. More savory than sweet, with the fruit flavors showing a distinct hot-y ...Read More »

2010 Andrew Rich "Les Vignes en Face" Columbia Valley Syrah (Previously $30)

90 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright, dark ruby. Dark aromas of cassis, bitter chocolate, gingerbread and brown spices display a medicinal aspect but show little of the variety's meaty side. An intense, juicy midweight, showing a slight gamey quality to the flavors of cassis, blackberry, licorice and brown spices. I like the balance of sweet and juicy here. (ST)" (11/2013)

1998 Turley "Hayne" Napa Valley Petite Syrah (Previously $129)

90-95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "There are only 325 cases of the blockbuster, sensationally rich, hyper-concentrated 1998 Petite Syrah Hayne Vineyard (14.5% alcohol). It exhibits ripeness, impressive concentration, and a blockbuster, gargantuan finish that lasts for 40-45 seconds. This effort possesses exquisite purity and fabulously ripe, unmanipulated fruit that cuts a creamy, lush texture on the palate. The Hayne Vineyard requires 3-4 years of cellaring, and will keep for at least two decades. (RP)" (1/2000) 90-92 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright black-ruby to the rim. 2014 Smith Story Russian River Valley Pinot Noir (Previously $60)

Winery tasting notes: "2014 was a wonderful growing season that has yielded another Smith Story wine screaming with sense of place. In short, 2014 was a superb vintage which allowed us to pick fruit with great complexity and flavors at a low Brix. This wine is a quintessential Russian River Pinot Noir, dark ruby red in color showing dark cherry flavors and cinnamon spice at its core. A hint of crimson rose on the nose with nutmeg and allspice complement the subtle notes of earth and Oolong tea. Cherries, pomegranates and sun drenched red fruits are most ... Read More »

2000 Turley "Vineyard 101" Alexander Valley Zinfandel (Previously $100)

89 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Medium dullish red. Cherry, raspberry, dark chocolate and a meaty note on the nose. Supple and fat on entry, then a bit less sweet in the middle than on the nose and the wine's 16.6% alcohol would suggest. Rather cool flavors of strawberry liqueur and mint. Slightly dry on the finish." (6/2002) Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Moderate levels of sweet and sour cherries, currants, minerals, and earth are present in the restrained, perfumed, elegant, dark ruby-colored 2000 Zinfandel Vineyard 101 (125 cases). For a Larry Turley/Ehren Jordan offering, it plays it close to the vest." (8/2002)

With excellent acidity, a cool climate character, good ripeness, and plenty of power. (RP)" (2/2005) 90 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Medium dark red. 2003 Turley "Rancho Burro" Russian River Valley Zinfandel (Previously $80)

Briery, raspberry, herbal, peppery notes jump from the glass of this medium to full-bodied, deep ruby-colored wine which reveals tart acids but flavorful, concentrated fruit flavors and good length. It should drink well for 5-6 years. (RP)" (2/2005) 93 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "($45; 16% alcohol; from vines planted in the 1890s) Good medium ruby.
