2007 Pahlmeyer Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this bottle of 2007 Pahlmeyer Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (96RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The sensational 2007 Proprietary Red Wine (a 7,000-case blend of 82% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, and Malbec) is slightly more restrained aromatically than the Merlot, but there is no doubting its extraordinary bouquet of subtle smoked meats, oak, mountain wild flowers, blueberries, blackberries, coffee, and cassis. Super-rich and full-bodied with noticeable, but stunningly sweet tannins, it possesses a rare minerality and definition, characteristics that seem to be found across the board in Napa’s 2007s. This dense, powerful red needs 3-5 years of cellaring, and should have 25 years of life ahead of it. One of California’s super-star producers, Pahlmeyer’s wines have a fabulous track record of aging well. This estate was one of Helen Turley’s first clients, and since she departed one of her assistants, Erin Green, has continued to turn out su

2010 Pontet-Canet, Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 2010 Pontet-Canet, Pauillac (100JS, 100RP, 98WE, 97WS, 95ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "An absolutely amazing wine... It comes from one of the few biodynamic vineyards in Bordeaux, but you are likely to see many more, given the success that Tesseron seems to be having at all levels, both in his vineyards and in his fermentation/winemaking. An astounding, compelling wine with the classic Pauillac nose more often associated with its cross-street neighbor, Mouton-Rothschild, creme de cassis, there are also some violets and other assorted floral notes. The wine has off-the-charts massiveness and intensity but never comes across as heavy, overbearing or astringent. The freshness, laser-like precision, and full-bodied, massive richness and extract are simply remarkable to behold and experience. It is very easy, to become jaded tasting such great wines from a great vintage, but it is really a privilege to taste something as amazing as this. Unfortunately, it needs

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2012 Reynvaan "Stonessence" Walla Walla Valley Syrah (98RP, 94ST, 94WE, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Even better, and possibly the greatest wine ever for this estate, the 2012 Syrah Stoneessence could merit a three-digit score in a few years. Made from 100% Syrah from their estate vineyard in The Rocks region of Walla Walla. This terroir always yields a perfumed, gamy complexity and this beauty doesn’t disappoint, with loads of cassis, smoked meats, olive tapenade, violets and lavender all literally soaring from the glass. The palate doesn’t disappoint either, and is full-bodied, seamless, perfectly balanced and layered, with a stacked mid-palate and an awesome finish. Give this insanely good Syrah 2-3 years and enjoy through 2027. (JD)" (06/2015)

Very closed and tight now, this needs time to come around. " (01/1997)

Bid on this magnum of 2005 Pavie Macquin, St-Emilion (1.5L) (96RP, 96WS, 95ST, 95VN, 94W&S, 94WE). Wine Spectator: "Terrifically dense, with layers of plum sauce, melted red licorice, raspberry coulis and blackberry pâte de fruit coursing along, but never top-heavy, as alluring floral and incense notes hang in the background. The long, mineral-driven finish keeps everything firmly grounded. Approachable now, but has a ways to go.--Non-blind Pavie Macquin vertical (December 2014). Best from 2019 through 2029. Bid on this bottle of 2002 Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé Chambolle-Musigny ((90-91RP), 90ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The medium to dark ruby-colored 2002 Chambolle-Musigny reveals dark cherry aromas as well as a medium-bodied, satin-textured personality. Armed with awesome depth, it is expansive, powerful, yet refined and well-structured. Mocha-laced jammy black fruits can be found throughout its expressive character as well as in its long, sweet, velvety finish. (PR)" (06/2004)

1996 Domaine Comtes Lafon Volnay 1er Cru "Santenots-Du-Milieu"
Bid on this bottle of 1996 Domaine Comtes Lafon Volnay 1er Cru "Santenots-Du-Milieu" (94RP, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This is one of Dominique Lafon’s best wines of the 1990s and easily surpasses the 1995. It has a wonderful bouquet that is very focused: raspberry, a touch of cassis, Indian ink and just a suggestion of singed leather. It has a sweet entry on the palate that is underpinned by fine tannins and an elegant, sensual finish that lacquers but never oppresses the mouth. There is wonderful tension and purity in this Volnay, perhaps in some ways auguring the style of wine post-2000. You can drink this now, though I would prefer to leave the 1996 another five years because there is a lot to come. Drink now-2026. (NM)" (12/2013)

2003 Krug Brut Champagne
Bid on this bottle of 2003 Krug Brut Champagne (95JS, 95ST, 94VN, 94WS, 93BH, 92W&S). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Light yellow. Powerful, complex bouquet evokes fresh peach, pear, floral honey, green almond and smoky minerals. Deep, palate-staining citrus and orchard fruit flavors show outstanding vivacity for a hot vintage, picking up ginger and talc notes with air. The strikingly long, sappy finish features zesty orange pith, smoky minerals and an echo of honeysuckle. I'd be in no rush to drink this one. Speaking of waiting, I had the chance to revisit the 2000 Vintage Krug and it has begun to pick up the smoky, weighty and nutty character that long-time fans of this producer crave. It's still plenty young but already unmistakably Krug, with a chewy texture and a sexy floral nuance dominating right now. (JR)" (12/2014)

Bid on this bottle of 2012 Domaine Henri Gouges Nuits-St-Georges 1er Cru "Clos des Porrets St-Georges" ((92-94VN), 93WS, (90-92BH), 91RP). Vinous: "The 2012 Nuits St. Georges Clos des Porrets Saint-Georges is beautifully round and supple. Here the fruit is distinctly red-toned, with hints of iron, earthiness, smoke and tobacco that add complexity. The 2012 will be highly appealing young because of its pure density, but it also appears to have the stuffing to age well for a number of years. This is a great showing from Gouges. 2004 Gerard Raphet Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru Vieilles Vignes
Bid on this bottle of 2004 Gerard Raphet Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru Vieilles Vignes (90BH). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A gentle touch of wood serves as a background note for the somber and backward earthy black fruit aromas that lead to palate drenching flavors of solid depth and this really coats the palate with old vine sap. This is a dramatic '04 with such reserves of mid-palate sap that it completely buries the firm tannic spine. It is not notably complex at this point but that will almost certainly come with time in bottle. Perhaps the best raw material in the range." (01/2007)

Of the 2011 Domaine Joseph Roty Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru "Les Fontenys",Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar writes: "Good dark red. More complex on the nose than the Clos Prieur or Brunelle, offering scents of red cherry, smoke, mocha, minerals and licorice. At once sweet and energetic, with excellent lift and definition to its densely packed black fruit and spice flavors. Sappy, firmly tannic and long on the juicy finish. I quite like this as it's understated, pure and very well balanced and while it's not overly complex at the moment, this may come with time in bottle as the underlying material to do so is clearly here. The 2010 has the stature of a great Burgundy, buzzing with black raspberry fruit and a prickle of limestone acidity that tempers the weight of the tannins. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2004 Fontodi "Vigna del Sorbo" Chianti Classico Riserva (96RP, 94VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Medium to deep garnet colour. Pretty, fresh blackberry and warm cherry aromas on the nose with fragrant nuances of rose petals and Chinese five spice. The tannins are firm yet finely grained and accessible. A crisp backbone of acidity provides freshness and perfect balance to the rich, ripe fruit flavours. The style straddles that wonderfully fine line between elegance and decadence. Very long finish with lingering notes of black truffles. Drinking now but will certainly open and soften with 4-5 years more cellaring. Should continue to develop through 2020+. (LPB)" (03/2009)

There is even a floral component lurking in the intricate aromatic profile. The wine is medium to full-bodied with wonderful intensity that builds incrementally and has a long, silky, luscious finish. There is plenty of tannin, but it is largely concealed by the wine’s beautiful fruit and ethereal complexity. Given its virtually perfect balance, this brilliant Haut-Bailly should age effortlessly for 3-4 decades. This is a tour de force in winemaking, particularly for readers seeking the quintessential example of a Bordeaux that combines compelling complexity and finesse with significant flavor authority and intensity. It is fresh, voluptuous, and opulent in the mouth, but the fresh acids and vibrancy give it exceptional precision as well as a refreshing style despite its weight, richness, and length. 2003 Ridge Vineyards "Essence" Paso Robles Zinfandel (375ml)
Bid on this 5-half-bottle lot of 2003 Ridge Vineyards "Essence" Paso Robles Zinfandel (375ml). According to the winery: "After a late start in spring, intense heat in early September ripened these grapes far beyond the norm. We first picked on September 20. Then—realizing we had a dessert wine on our hands—delayed the rest of the harvest for four days to gain even greater concentration. At these high sugars, the wine took four more days to show signs of natural-yeast fermentation. We pumped over daily for color and tannin extraction; by the eighth day, despite the remaining sugar, fermentation had come to a halt. We pressed, and just before racking to barrel, included the still-richer press wine. Ten months in air-dried American oak added spice to the intense black fruit ... (EB/PD, 11/2004)

Allen Meadows - Burghound: "The expressive nose is compositionally quite similar to that of the Bousselots except that it's just a bit more deeply pitched. The clean, cool and sleek flavors display excellent delineation along with plenty of minerality, all wrapped in a wonderfully persistent and impeccably well-balanced if notably firm finale. This beauty is indisputably built-to-age and is going to need it." (01/2017)

Bid on this bottle of 2005 Blankiet "Paradise Hills Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (95RP, 93VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2005 Proprietary Red Wine Paradise Hills Vineyard (1,200 cases) reveals a chocolatey espresso roast note with mocha, blackberry and cassis, high tannins, but full body, superb concentration, purity, and an almost Graves-like scorched earth character. This wine needs 3-4 years of bottle age, and should last 25-30 years. 95+ (RP)" (12/2007)

2014 Schrader "Beckstoffer To Kalon RBS" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2014 Schrader "Beckstoffer To Kalon RBS" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (96RP, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon RBS is made from the same clone (337) as the Georges III, but comes from the To Kalon Vineyard in Oakville and not the Rutherford Georges III. This was aged in 85% new Darnajou and 15% new Taransaud. It has fabulous concentration, notes of incense, licorice, blackcurrants, blackberries, as well as spring flowers. The wine is juicy, savory and full-bodied, with wonderful underlying energy and freshness. This wine is a more forward style than we saw with the 2013s, and is best drunk over the next 16-20 years. Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2012 Kistler "Kistler Vineyard" Sonoma Valley Chardonnay (95RP, 94VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Chardonnay Kistler Vineyard exhibits great richness, a fabulous bouquet of white flowers, quince, mango, honeyed peaches, caramelized citrus and delicate, spicy oakiness that is very restrained but present. Broad, full-bodied, multi-dimensional and intense, this is a stunner made from a combination of the Mount Eden and Old Wente clones of Chardonnay. Look for it to drink well for 5-8 years. 2010 Sine Qua Non "Stockholm Syndrome" Sta. Rita Hills Grenache
Bid on this bottle of 2010 Sine Qua Non "Stockholm Syndrome" Sta. Rita Hills Grenache (100JD, 100RP, 96VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The current release of the estate vineyard (a.k.a. the extended barrel-aged cuvee), the 2010 Grenache Stockholm Syndrome is an incredible effort that I couldn’t find a fault with. A blend of 75% Grenache, 22% Syrah, 2% Roussanne and 1% Viognier, all from the Eleven Confession Vineyard, it spent just under 30 months in 22% new and 78% used French oak prior to bottling. Locked and loaded, it knocks it out of the park with its cassis, licorice, smoked duck, spice-box and exotic herb-styled bouquet. The palate follows suit and while it has the expected depth and richness of the estate, it’s seamless, elegant and lively, with perfect balance, ultra-fine tannin and a finish that just won’t quit. It doesn’t get any better and count yourself lucky if you can latch onto a couple of these. It will thrill for 15-20 years. (JD)" (08/2014)

2003 Quilceda Creek Washington Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2003 Quilceda Creek Washington Cabernet Sauvignon (100RP, 97WE, 95ST, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Another wine I’ve had multiple times recently, the 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon (97% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Merlot) is pure perfection in a glass and yields off-the-hook aromatics of cassis, black raspberries, tobacco leaf, pepper and licorice. Deep, layered and even elegant, with a seamless texture that conceals the sheer wealth of material present, it builds through the mid-palate, possesses huge amounts of extract and masses of polished tannin on the finish. Despite the overall size, it never loses its Cabernet Sauvignon soul and has an almost Bordeaux-like savoriness and tannic frame. Still young (yet gorgeous none the less), it can be enjoyed now or cellared for another 10-15+ years. Drink now through 2028. (JD)" (06/2013)

2012 Pride Mountain "Reserve" Sonoma-Napa Counties Claret
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2012 Pride Mountain "Reserve" Sonoma-Napa Counties Claret (98RP, 96CG, 95VN, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Claret Reserve is a blend of 66% Merlot, 29% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Petit Verdot aged in 40% new French oak for 22 months. The bulk of the fruit comes from the Sonoma side of their vineyards, with about 28% from Napa. There are 586 cases of this red, which is one of the more potent wines in the Pride lineup at 14.9% alcohol. The wine has great intensity, a full-bodied mouthfeel, and loads of créme de cassis, chocolate, plum, licorice and foresty undertones. Full-bodied, with oodles of glycerin, a highly extracted, silky mouthfeel, terrific purity, and length of a good 45 to 50 seconds, this fabulous effort can be drunk now or cellared for 12-15+ years. 2012 Chateau Montelena "Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (OWC)
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2012 Chateau Montelena "Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (OWC - (93-95ST), 93RP, 93VN) in original wood. Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright medium ruby. Medicinal aromas of blue fruits, minerals, and spices, lifted by an herbal nuance. Rich and dense but with a powerful spine of acidity giving terrific cut to the black fruit and spice flavors. Extremely primary, energetic wine with surprisingly suave tannins for its size and outstanding savory persistence. It's hardly surprising that Bo Barrett plans to bottle this vintage late--probably not until the end of the year. This should evolve in bottle for 20 years or more. (ST)" (05/2014)

2005 Domaine Faiveley Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru
Bid on this 5-bottle lot of Domaine Faiveley Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru (93-95BH) Allen Meadows - Burghound: "An interesting if slightly odd nose of reduction and menthol notes added to wild, ripe and layered red berry fruit aromas that complement the gamy and completely backward flavors that are highly complex and possess a firm and mouth coating texture. This isn't necessarily a wine of finesse or elegance but there is character to burn and as usual, I quite like this. In a word, stunning. *Don't Miss!*" (01/2007)

2010 La Fleur Morange, St-Emilion
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2010 La Fleur Morange, St-Emilion (94RP, 93JS, 92VN, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The more traditional cuvee, the 2010 La Fleur Morange is an equal-part blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc from a tiny, 4.5-acre parcel. This is showing better from bottle than it did from barrel. Remarkably, it has 15.5% natural alcohol, which may be the highest level of natural alcohol of any of the wines from the better estates in Bordeaux. Of course, there is not much of it, since yields were 17 hectoliters per hectare, so there are only about 200+ cases of this wine in the marketplace. Dense purple, with oodles of mulberry, black raspberry and violets, this is a beautiful wine, elegant, but at the same time massively fruity, thick, unctuously textured and long. I am sure some serious tannins are lurking beneath in this extravagantly endowed, sumptuously textured Bordeaux. Drink this wine over the next 15+ years. (RP) 94+" (02/2013)

Bid on this 12-bottle lot of 2005 Beau-Séjour-Bécot, St-Emilion (OWC - 94RP, 92VN, 92WS) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A beautiful wine from Beau-Séjour Bécot, the color of the 2005 is an opaque purple and the wine is loaded with notes of cedar wood, Asian spice, blackberry and cassis fruit. Full-bodied and tannic, but broad, huge, and massive, this wine is still an infant and needs another 7-10 years of cellaring. This is a 40- to 50-year wine from the Bécot family. 94+ (RP)" (04/2015)

Bid on this bottle of 2007 Joseph Phelps "Insignia" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (99RP, 96CG, 96VN, 96WS, 95JS, 94WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Aged 24 months in new French oak, this infant 2007 exhibits an inky/purple color along with notes of graphite, spring flowers and smoky oak. This full-bodied, classic Insignia reveals fabulous depth, ripeness, texture, viscosity and richness. Still young and unformed, it should evolve for 25 or more years. Perhaps I should just go ahead and give this 2007 a three-digit score as it is a profoundly great Cabernet Sauvignon-based effort...one of the top Insignias yet produced. (RP)" (11/2013)
