2013 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2013 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (99RP, 96VN, 94WE, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I think the wine of the vintage, the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon from the Columbia Valley is flat out sensational, and flirts with perfection. Its inky ruby/purple color is followed by incredible notes of cassis, black currants, smoked herbs, licorice and graphite. These give way to a full-bodied, utterly seamless Cabernet that has full-bodied richness, ultra-fine tannin and a killer finish. While it possesses the elegance and purity of the vintage, it has a stacked mid-palate, and deserves 4-5 years of cellaring. It will have two decades or more of overall longevity. (JD)" (06/2016)

1996 Domaine Maume Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1996 Domaine Maume Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru (92BH). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This is now full-on secondary with plenty of the classic Mazis sauvage aromas and warm earth notes that are also reflected by intense, robust and amply-sized flavors that possess a relatively burly mouth feel (which is unusual for the vintage) and excellent length. As was typically the case with the Maume wines of this era, there isn't much finesse or refinement but there is clearly no absence of character and this should continue to age well for years to come though I wouldn't expect much, if any, further upside development." 2000 Margaux, Margaux
Bid on this bottle of 2000 Margaux, Margaux (100JS, 100RP, 98ST, 98W&S, 98WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Absolutely compelling in two tastings of this vintage, the 2000 Margaux is composed of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Merlot. The extraordinary seductiveness, complex aromatics, and purity it exhibits lead me to believe it has reached its window of full maturity. Medium-bodied, with layers of concentration, stunning blue, red, and black fruits intermixed with spring flowers, a subtle dosage of new oak, and a distinctive personality that is elegant while at the same time powerful and substantial, this is a multi-dimensional wine that was extremely approachable and drinkable in both tastings I had of it. The color remains a healthy, even opaque bluish/purple, but there is no reason to hesitate to drink it. It should evolve for another 30-40 years, so there is no hurry either. (RP)" (06/2010)

2012 Saxum "James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 2012 Saxum "James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (1.5L) (97RP, 94VN, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "There are 1,580 cases of the 2012 James Berry Vineyard and it reminds me of the 2009 Janasse Chaupin (which is one of Justin’s favorite wines). Incorporating more Mourvedre than normal, it’s made from 43% Grenache, 29% Mourvedre, 18% Syrah and 10% Counoise that’s aged in a combination of concrete and barrel. Rock star stuff, with fabulous black raspberry, cassis, spring flowers and charred meat aromas and flavors, this beauty hits the palate with full-bodied richness and depth, yet stays lively, incredibly pure and elegant, with lots of fine tannin emerging on the finish. It will benefit from 2-3 years in the cellar and have 15-20 years of ultimate longevity. 97+ (JD)" (08/2014)

2013 Kosta Browne "Kanzler Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2013 Kosta Browne "Kanzler Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (96CG, 94WS, 93RP, 92VN). Connoisseurs Guide: "Picking favorites from the long and lengthening lists of single-site bottlings that so many top-tier Pinot producers now offer is never an easy task, especially when faced with the embarrassment of riches that is the 2013 Kosta Browne lot. That said, this stunning effort from the Kanzler Vineyard certainly vies for top honors by dint of its fruity depth, its lovely balance and its uncommon marriage of richness and grace. And, please do not think that its tailoring and finesse prescribes early drinking for it cannot but get better and grow even more complex over the next five or six years. *Three Stars* " (10/2015)

Bid on this 2-magnum lot of 2002 Merry Edwards "Klopp Ranch" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir (1.5L) (90CG, 90WS). Wine Spectator: "Firm, intense and concentrated, with an engaging wild streak running through the zesty blackberry and wild berry fruit flavors. On the finish, it reveals its youthfulness with its mix of new oak and firm, stemmy tannins, but a year or two in bottle should do the trick, rounding out the few rough adolescent edges. 2009 Rhys "Horseshoe Vineyard" Santa Cruz Mountains Pinot Noir
Bid on this bottle of 2009 Rhys "Horseshoe Vineyard" Santa Cruz Mountains Pinot Noir (94RP, 94ST, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Pinot Noir Horseshoe Vineyard is the most virile wine in this lineup. Black cherries, mint, iron and crushed rocks come together in this dramatic, generous Pinot. The fleshiness of the fruit nearly covers the tannins, but they are lurking beneath the wine’s considerable fleshiness. Menthol, pine and a host of other dark, balsamic notes wrap around the insistent, powerful finish. (AG)" (08/2011)

2010 Tor Kenward "Beckstoffer To Kalon Clone 337" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 2010 Tor Kenward "Beckstoffer To Kalon Clone 337" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (96RP, 95ST, 95WS, 93VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Another winner, although it is more closed and backward at present, is the 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard Clone 337, which is only available in magnum (50 cases). As Tor Kenward says, it is the “big boy” of the vintage. That’s somewhat of an understatement as this is a broodingly backward, full throttle, pedal-to-the-metal Cabernet Sauvignon with lots of blackberry, cassis, blueberry, spring flower and toasty oak notes. Undeniably a great classic Napa Cabernet Sauvignon, it will require patience by anyone lucky enough to latch onto a magnum or two. (96+, RP)" (10/2013)

2002 Ridge Vineyards "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2002 Ridge Vineyards "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon (97VN, 95RP, 94ST, 90WS). Vinous: "The 2002 Monte Bello is just starting to enter the early plateau of its maturity. Bright red cherry, raspberry, wild flowers, mint and crushed flowers all lift from the glass. Sweet, perfumed and totally gracious, the 2002 has it all going on today. The 2002 is an especially nuanced and feminine Monte Bello, particularly in its aromatics, although it turns sweeter and more unctuous on the mid-palate. There is plenty of depth and intensity, but it is all about understatement when it comes to the 2002, a compelling, racy Monte Bello that is in a great place today. Eric Baugher describes 2002 as a vintage with the lowest yields seen in the last 20 years because of bad weather during bloom. Macerations were shorter than normal because of the inherent richness of the fruit. (AG)" (07/2016)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The sexy 2012 Chardonnay la Carrière reveals notes of honeyed brioche, orange marmalade, tropical fruit blossoms and caramelized citrus. Broad, savory and full-bodied, this stunning Chardonnay should be consumed over the next 5-10 years. (RP)" (12/2014)

2006 Bodegas Mas Alta "La Basseta" Priorat
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2006 Bodegas Mas Alta "La Basseta" Priorat (96RP, 92VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2006 La Basseta is 45% Carinena, 40% Garnacha, and 15 % Cabernet Sauvignon aged for 15 months in 50% new French oak. A glass-coating opaque purple, it has a sensational aromatic array of liquid minerals, wood smoke, underbrush, lavender, incense, black cherry, and blueberry that leapfrogs from the glass. Surprisingly elegant, it has that extra dimensionality that only old vines can produce. Complex, hedonistic, and exceptionally lengthy, this brilliant effort will evolve for several years and offer prime drinking from 2012 to 2026. (JM)" (06/2009)

Yellow peach and spices on the nose, along with a carnal truffley scent suggesting some noble rot. Fat, thick, concentrated and sweet, with a dominant flavor of peach nectar. Deep and powerful wine, but kept fresh by its lively ripe acidity. Finishes smooth, spicy and quite long. (ST)" (11/2010)

Wine Enthusiast: "Oh to have neighbors like these, bringing together several vineyard sites along this coveted stretch of the appellation. This bottling shows full-bodied richness and minerality dotted in a rose garden of pretty aromas and flavors. It's the silky-smooth texture that's most memorable, accented in earthy black tea and subtle oak tones. *Editors' Choice* (VB)" (09/2016)

1986 d'Yquem, Sauternes (375ml)
Bid on this half-bottle of 1986 d'Yquem, Sauternes (375ml) (98RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "There is no other wine in the world like it, and there is no other luxury wine that can possibly justify its price as much as Yquem. The remarkable amount of painstaking labor necessary to produce the nectar known as Yquem is almost impossible to comprehend. This is a fascinating effort. With greater evidence of botrytis than the colossal 1983, but less power and alcohol, the 1986 Yquem tastes reminiscent of the 1975, only more precocious, as well as more concentrated. Several highly respected Bordeaux negociants who are Yquem enthusiasts claim the 1986 Yquem is the greatest wine produced at the property since the legendary 1937. Its enthralling bouquet of pineapples, sauteed hazelnuts, vanillin, and ripe apricots is breathtaking. Compellingly concentrated, the breadth as well as depth of flavor seemingly know no limits. 2014 Sine Qua Non "Shakti" California Grenache
Bid on this bottle of 2014 Sine Qua Non "Shakti" California Grenache (100RP, 97JD, 96VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2014 Grenache Shakti is blended of 88% Grenache, 6% Mourvèdre, 4% Petite Sirah and 2% Touriga Nacional, coming 51% from the Cumulus (Estate) Vineyard, 18% from The Third Twin (Estate) Vineyard, 9.5% from Bien Nacido Vineyard and 21.5% for the Eleven Confessions (Estate) Vineyard. It was produced using 42% whole cluster and aged for around 21 months in French oak, 6% new (bottled June 21, 2017). It offers up a deep garnet-purple color and notes of dried Mediterranean herbs, dusty earth, Chinese five spice and rose petals over a core of red currants, mulberries, red plums and black raspberries, plus a waft of chocolate covered cherries. Full-bodied, decadently concentrated and yet very, very pretty in the mouth, it delivers incredibly fine-grained, ripe tannins and wonderful freshness, finishing on a persistent--totally disarming--perfumed red fruit note. Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2012 Larkmead "LMV Salon" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (94RP, 94VN, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The fabulous 2012 Proprietary Red LMV Salon is a 1,090-case blend of 67% Cabernet Sauvignon and 33% Cabernet Franc. It reveals a refined nose of mulberries, blueberries, raspberries, spring flowers and forest floor. A dense, ripe, opulent, medium to full-bodied 2012, I rated it slightly lower than last year from barrel because it seems somewhat closed. Beautiful clean dark fruit, tar, spice and subtle toasty oak make up the bulk of the nose. Full bodied and silky smooth on the palate with a gorgeous texture. 2012 Saxum "Paderewski Vineyard" Paso Robles Red Blend
Bid on this bottle of 2012 Saxum "Paderewski Vineyard" Paso Robles Red Blend (96RP, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Surprisingly tannic and structured for a wine that’s normally the most approachable and sexy, the 2012 Paderewski Vineyard checks in as a blend of 45% Zinfandel, 36% Mourvedre, 12% Tempranillo and 7% Petite Sirah. It possesses the classic chalky minerality of the vineyard to go with exotic perfumed notes of black raspberry, plums, brambly underbrush and assorted background meatiness. This all flows to a full-bodied, elegant and polished wine that has solid mid-palate depth and chewy, firm tannin on the finish. Give this a year or more in the cellar and enjoy bottles through 2024. Pliant and generous on the palate, the 2011 offers notable depth, no hard edges and fabulous purity of fruit, all extremely rare at this level in 2011, a cold, late-ripening vintage. Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2005 Greenock Creek "Seven Acre" Shiraz Barossa Valley (96RP). Tar, mineral, earth notes, smoked meat, and blueberry scents jump from the glass of this full-bodied but restrained (relatively speaking) Shiraz. On the palate it is a bit more austere than its siblings with a bit more structure and apparent acidity. As a result, it will require longer cellaring and should offer prime drinking from 2015 to 2030. Greenock Creek Vineyard & Cellars, owned by Michael and Annabelle Waugh, remains one of South Australia’s iconic wineries. This wine is spectacular, and while I don’t like to choose between daughters, it gets a slight nod over the Cuvee Catherine because it just seems to have a few more layers of flavor crammed into its medium to full-bodied personality. Wonderfully floral, raspberry, and kirsch notes emerge from this wine, which also shows a touch of toast, some crushed stony, rocky notes, and beautiful texture and vibrant acidity. I wouldn’t be surprised to see this wine age effortlessly for 10-15 years. It is certainly a terrific Pinot Noir which, as I said last year, comes across as California’s Musigny. (RP)" (02/2005)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Rusden’s flagship is the 2004 Shiraz “Black Guts,” sourced from a vineyard planted in 1959. It was aged for 30 months in barrel, 10% new American, 25% new French, with the balance used French. Purple-colored (but not as saturated as many of its Barossa peers), it delivers a stunning perfume of mineral, gunpowder, roasted meat, blueberry, and chocolate. This is followed by a full-bodied, velvety-textured Shiraz with gobs of layered fruit, terrific intensity and balance, and a very long finish. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2003 Standish "The Standish" Shiraz Barossa Valley South Australia (99RP, 92JH). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2003 Shiraz (100% Shiraz from a 90-year-old Vine Vale vineyard) was cropped at .5 tons of fruit per acre, and was aged 32 months in old French oak. It is a magnificent effort boasting tremendous ripeness as well as abundant blueberry and creme de cassis notes intermixed with flowers, graphite, and crushed rocks. With amazing concentration, purity, and richness, but no heaviness (the alcohol is only 14.5%), and a finish that lasts well past a minute, it is accessible now, but should age effortlessly for two decades or more. After spending three weeks in Asia tasting primarily French wines and Sake, they hit all the sweet spots on my palate. The finest effort yet from this vineyard, the 1996 is reminiscent of a phenomenal Chateauneuf du Pape. This wine continues to remind me of California's version of Henri Bonneau's Chateauneuf du Pape Reserve des Celestins. With an alcohol content just above 15.5%, this full-bodied, meaty, dark ruby/purple-colored wine reveals celestial aromas of smoked duck, Provencal herbs, and pepper. Because there's zero Sangiovese in it; instead the blend is 70% Cab with equal parts Alicante and Petit Verdot. 2007 Vineyard 29 "CRU" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2007 Vineyard 29 "CRU" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (92RP, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of Napa’s finest Cabernet Sauvignon-based wines in the $50 range is Vineyard 29's 2007 Cru. Produced by owners Chuck and Ann McMinn and their consulting winemaker, Philippe Melka, there are 5,000 cases of this blend of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Merlot and Cabernet Franc. The grapes are all purchased, and the wine is made at their state-of-the-art facility just off Highway 29 north of St. Helena. This beautiful wine exhibits a dense ruby/purple color as well as pure black currant fruit aromas intermixed with notions of licorice, charcoal, subtle smoke, and high class unsmoked cigar tobacco. The wine is aged for one year in oak vats followed by 3 years in new French oak followed by 3 years in bottle prior to release. Dark ruby-colored, the wine’s appearance reveals a bit of age in a traditional style. It offers up a complex bouquet of cedar, pencil lead, mineral, spice box, and blackberry. The 2006 Bramare Malbec “Marchiori Vineyard”, tasted from a barrel sample, is even better than the 2005. Vintage conditions were ideal and, for the first time, Paul Hobbs stopped irrigation 12 weeks before harvest, most unusual in Mendoza’s arid conditions.
