Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 1999 Arietta "Hudson Vineyard" Napa Valley Merlot (92RP, 92ST, 92WS). Wine Spectator: "Classy. Dark, rich and full-bodied, with excellent structure, firm tannins and a solid core of earthy currant, herb, cedar, pencil lead and mineral flavors that are deep, complex and full-blown. Remarkable detail and finesse. Firmly tannic, it's a good candidate for cellaring. (JL)" (05/2002)

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2003 Andre Brunel "Les Cailloux" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (93JR, 93VN, 92RP). Jancis Robinson: "This Les Cailloux Châteauneuf-du-Pape epitomizes the 2003 vintage and is stacked with huge, meaty and rich kirsch and black cherry fruit, melted licorice, liquefied stems and hot stone aromas on the nose. In the mouth, this is full bodied with incredibly rich fruit, a soft, mouth filling and weighty texture and beautiful length. 2003 haters will probably find something to dislike here but this is a serious, stunning Chateauneu." 2006 Auteur "Shea Vineyard" Willemette Valley Pinot Noir
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2006 Auteur "Shea Vineyard" Willemette Valley Pinot Noir. Shea Vineyard is one of the most prestigious vineyards in New World Pinot Noir. Shea Vineyards consists of 140 dry farmed hillside acres located in Oregon's sub-appellation, Yamhill-Carlton. Yamhill-Carlton is situated in a rainshadow where storms often miss, leaving excellent dry conditions for Pinot Noir. Auteur's Shea Pinot is harvested from the fabled Back Block of Shea Vineyard--the only other producer to get this fruit is the owner, Dick Shea. The soil is characterized by shallow sedimentary Willakenzie topsoil over fractured sandstone subsoil. These soils tend to display darker fruit with concentrated blackberry and plum highlighted with notes of earth, pepper and minerals.

Bid on this 12-bottle lot of 2013 Rhys "Bearwallow Vineyard" Anderson Valley Pinot Noir (OWC - 93RP, 93VN) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2013 Pinot Noir Bearwallow Vineyard is as sexy and fruit driven as the wines from this estate get. Giving up tons of strawberries, blueberries, crushed violets and assorted floral notes, it's upfront and layered on the palate, with plenty of fruit, good concentration and a big finish. Shining for its mouth filling fruit and texture, it's still far from blowsy or soft, and should evolve nicely. (JD)" (10/2015)

2013 DRC Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Richebourg Grand Cru
Bid on this bottle of 2013 DRC Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Richebourg Grand Cru (96RP, 95VN, 94BH). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2013 Richebourg Grand Cru was harvested on the afternoon of October 9 and then the following day at just 16.5 hectoliters per hectare, the second lowest after the Echézeaux. It is clearly the elder brother of the 2013 Romanée-Saint-Vivant with intense dark cherry, black plum, tayberry and crushed violet aromas (the latter, perhaps a nod to the Romanée-Saint-Vivant). As with all the domaine's wines this year, it is beautifully defined with beguiling transparency. The palate is medium-bodied, but there is serious weight and presence here. It is struck through with sorbet-like freshness, hints of blood orange tincturing the vibrant red fruit, seguing into a finish with great conviction and confidence, a Richebourg self-aware though not preening about its status. This is a Richebourg to cellar for several years and to enjoy over the next 20 to 25 years (or

1996 Krug Brut Champagne
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1996 Krug Brut Champagne (100W&S, 99ST, 99WS, 98VN, 97JG, 97RP). Wine & Spirits: "It's hard to imagine how a wine of this power can sustain perfect balance. What is now a more nonchalant intensity in the aroma was, in fact, too much to handle when we tasted this last year, as if the wine had no time for mere humans with their limited sense receptors. If you stop to taste ripe pear, ginger spice, apple blossom and butterscotch the wine leaves you lost in random flavor descriptors as it soars off into a vinous glow that lasts for minutes. This may well be the greatest vintage wine of Henri Krug's career (unless it is challenged by the 2002). It is impossible to predict how long this wine will thrive in bottle, though considering the current fine condition of the 1959 Krug, the first 50 years are a given." (12/2008)

1997 Bryant Family Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 1997 Bryant Family Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (100RP, 96ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I have consumed several bottles of the 1997 Cabernet Sauvignon Pritchard Hill. One of the most awesome young reds I have ever tasted, it possesses a black/purple color, a seamless texture, and freakishly high levels of intensity (cassis, black and blueberries infused with espresso, chocolate, and licorice) that are flawlessly presented in a full-bodied, massive yet elegant wine. Nothing is out of balance in this explosively rich, thick, highly-extracted Cabernet. A compelling, historic Cabernet Sauvignon, it will drink well for 30-35 years. (RP)" (12/2000)

2004 Domaine Méo-Camuzet Nuits-St-Georges 1er Cru "Aux Murgers"
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2004 Domaine Méo-Camuzet Nuits-St-Georges 1er Cru "Aux Murgers" (92JG, 91WS). John Gilman: "I do not know why, but I had always been under the impression that the Méo vines in Murgers were a bit older than those in Boudots, but I was incorrect. The vines here are a very respectable forty years old, while those in Boudots are in the 55-60 year old range. The nose on the 2004 Murgers is typically closed at this early stage, and reluctantly offers up notes of black cherries, game, woodsmoke, herbs, earth and vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, deep and closed, with fine focus, plenty of fruit at the core, firm tannins, and good acids on the long finish. Give this fine Nuits premier cru a good ten years in the cellar. " (01/2006)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2006 Domaine Marquis d'Angerville Volnay 1er Cru "Clos des Ducs" (92ST, 91RP, 90WS). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good deep red. Cool, medicinal, very primary aromas of black cherry and flowers. Then sappy, sweet and backward, with excellent verve to the black fruit, menthol and licorice flavors. This youthfully clenched and serious wine really saturates the palate. Finishes quite long and vibrant, with a mineral spine that calls for extended cellaring. (ST)" (03/2009)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Dominus, the quintessential model of haute couture, is pure elegance exhibiting a seamless integration of wood, tannin, alcohol and acidity as well as a complex bouquet of cedar, new saddle leather, sweet kirsch, black currant and plum fruit and a notion of licorice. Both the 2007 and 2008 Dominus should drink well for 25-30 years. (RP)" (12/2010)

2012 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2012 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (98JD, 98RP, 96WS, 95VN, 95WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon is brilliant. Made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, mostly from the famous Champoux Vineyard in the Horse Heaven Hills, it was aged all in new oak and bottled unfined and unfiltered. It offers a captivating bouquet of black cherry liqueur and cassis-like fruit, Asian spice, coffee bean and lead pencil shavings to go with a full-bodied, ripe, seamless and hedonistic style on the palate. One of the more approachable, opulent examples of this cuvee, it has no hard edges, plenty of tannin and a massive, heady finish. Drink now through 2032. (JD)" (06/2015)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2005 Pinot Noir Kistler Vineyard Cuvee Catherine Occidental Station boasts a dark ruby/purple-tinged color as well as gorgeous aromas reminiscent of a DRC Grands Echezeaux. Spring flower, blueberry, raspberry, cherry, and forest floor aromas soar from the glass of this medium to full-bodied Pinot. 2013 Abreu "Thorevilos" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this bottle of 2013 Abreu "Thorevilos" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (100RP, 100VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Probably one of my favorite vineyards in all of Napa Valley, even though it is not entitled to any particular AVA designation, is the steep hillside vineyard behind the luxury resort of Meadowood in St. Helena called Thorevilos. It is co-owned by David Abreu and Ric Forman. I have now tasted 16 vintages of this wine, and six and possibly seven (the 2015) have merited perfect scores, which is just mind-boggling even to someone who has been doing this for 38+ years. This wine contains a considerable quantity of Cabernet Franc (probably 30% or more, although Abreu and Grimes are never specific) and there may even be a small percentage of Petit Verdot included in the blend. This is always the most floral of the Abreu wines, but it also has what the French call je ne sais quoi, a quality that is hard to pin down. The 2013 defines what Thorevilos is all about, with copious

Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 2003 Domaine Henri Gouges Nuits-St-Georges 1er Cru "Les St. Georges" (94ST, 92RP, 90BH). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar writes: "Bright, saturated ruby-red. High-pitched nose dominated by violet and minerals. Thick on entry, then superconcentrated but light on its feet in the middle palate, with utterly fresh, sharply delineated flavors of cherry, minerals and spice cake. The huge, broad, fine tannins coat the entire palate. Explosive finishing flavors of sappy blackberry and black raspberry offer uncanny vinosity for the year. Obviously enormous and atypical for Les Saint-Georges, but here's a 2003 that could well enjoy a 25-year evolution in bottle. 94(+?) points." (03/2006)

A ripe, rich and highly nuanced soil and mineral-driven nose merges seamlessly into dense, complex and extremely fine middle weight flavors that are wonderfully detailed with layer after layer of sappy extract. The minerality is quite prominent and while I cannot say that this is qualitatively superior to the Rugiens, there is a certain classiness over and above what the Rugiens offers, as good as the former wine is." Beautiful plum, anise and black currant fruit characteristics are found in this voluptuously textured, opulent, full-bodied wine. This compelling effort from the Staglin Family appears to be close to full maturity given its impressive aromatics and silky mouthfeel, but its impeccable balance suggests it will last another 15+ years. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "They appear to be immune to some of winedom’s less than intelligent trends and fads that we see from time to time, and the result is a spectacular 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon 40th Anniversary offering. Its dense purple/black color is followed by copious quantities of crème de cassis and blackberry fruit, silky tannins, a voluptuous texture and stunning purity as well as length. This full-bodied effort is a fabulous example of Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon as well as a tribute to this amazing family. It is so good now, why wait? Locked and loaded with notions of ripe black and blue fruits, smoke, bouquet garni, espresso, and licorice, it is unabashedly full-bodied, rich, and yet elegant on the palate. Connoisseurs Guide: "If starting out with a riveting nose of rich oak and extraordinarily pure Pinot Noir fruit that is nothing less than show stopping in its sheer richness and depth, this is a wine whose immediate appeals need resisting as it is years away from showing all that it has. It is moderately full-bodied, fairly sturdy in build and underpinned by evident tannins that when teamed with ample acidity bring a degree of back-palate toughness, but it is never so coarse as to call its future into question. The striking stamina of its beautifully formed fruit ensures a long and lovely future, and its enthusiastic endorsement comes with the strongest possible urging that it be allowed to quietly rest for no less than another half-decade." Bid on this bottle of 2016 Aubert "Ritchie Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay (96VN). Vinous: "The 2016 Chardonnay Ritchie Vineyard is powerful and phenolically intense. Orchard fruit, mint, white flowers and melon are pushed forward. Deep and ample on the palate, with tremendous structure, the 2016 has a lot to offer. Although very much tightly wound today, the Ritchie is one of the most promising wines in the range. (AG) 96+" (04/2018)

2009 Pape Clément, Pessac-Léognan
Bid on this bottle of 2009 Pape Clément, Pessac-Léognan (100RP, 98JS, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "(Hedonists Gazette, Apr 2016): The red wine flight was a colossal showing for the 2009s, with perfect wines from Cos d'Estournel, La Mission Haut-Brion, Smith Haut Lafitte, Pape Clément and Haut-Brion. These amazing wines are not only showing their individual, singular terroir characteristics at age six, but the luxurious, extravagant richness and body of this vintage...One expects the Mission Haut-Brion, Haut-Brion and Pape Clément to hit the highest points in a vintage like this - and they did. 2011 Williams Selyem Russian River Valley Pinot Noir
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2011 Williams Selyem Russian River Valley Pinot Noir (94ST, 92W&S, 90WE). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright ruby-red. Pungent aromas of black raspberry, cherry and fresh rose, with a smoky quality building in the glass. Pliant, sweet and complex, offering potent flavors of bitter cherry, blackberry, floral pastilles and cola. Rich and concentrated but lively, closing with strong punch and fine-grained firming tannins. Quite rich for a 2011, but also shows the vivacity that marks the vintage's best wines. (ST)" (05/2014)

2013 Giovanni Canonica Barolo Paiagallo
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2013 Giovanni Canonica Barolo Paiagallo (92VN). Vinous: "My initial thought was to focus on the 2013 vintage for this flight, but the Bartolo Mascarello is so young, I chose the 2012 instead. Canonica’s 2013 Barolo Paiagallo is another very pretty, translucent, classically built wine. Next to the other wines on the table, the Paiagallo comes across as a bit diffuse, with its aromatics, fruit and structure each in their own space and not woven together into a cohesive whole. The 2013 is still a delicious Barolo, but on this night, well, there are a lot of fabulous wines in the tasting. (AG)" (01/2018)

2008 Bodegas El Nido "Clio" Jumilla
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2008 Bodegas El Nido "Clio" Jumilla (94RP, 92WS, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2008 Clio is made up of 70% old vine Monastrell sourced from a vineyard planted in 1944 and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon from a vineyard planted in 1979. The alcoholic fermentation is in oak followed by malolactic fermentation in new barrels and aging for 24 months in new French and American oak. A glass-coating opaque purple color, it exhibits an expressive nose of pain grille, underbrush, brier, mineral, blueberry, and blackberry fruit leading to a plush, opulent wine with great density, savory flavors, and a lengthy finish. In spite of its size, it is surprisingly light on its feet and can be approached now. However, it will evolve for 3-4 years and offer prime drinking from 2014 to 2023. (JM)" (06/2011)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2005 Catena Zapata "Nicolás Catena Zapata" Cabernet Sauvignon Mendoza (98RP, 94WE, 94WS, 92VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The flagship wines begin with the purple/black-colored 2005 Nicolas Catena Zapata, a blend of 78% Cabernet Sauvignon and 22% Malbec. The fruit was sourced from four of the estate’s finest high-elevation vineyards, and aged for 24 months in 100% new French oak. The brooding bouquet delivers pain grille, mineral, violet, scorched earth, pepper, espresso, black cherry, and black raspberry aromas leading to a dense, opulent wine with gobs of savory fruit, ripe tannins, terrific concentration, and a 60-second finish. Allow it 6-8 years in the cellar to reveal its full potential and enjoy it from 2015 to 2030. (JSM)" (12/2008)

1999 Thierry Allemand "Chaillot" Cornas
Bid on this bottle of 1999 Thierry Allemand "Chaillot" Cornas. Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Deep ruby-purple. Aromas of roasted black fruits and bitter chocolate. Voluminous and sweet, with black fruit, black pepper and menthol notes. Obviously low in acidity (due to some shriveling of the grapes) but not at all flat. A powerful wine that finishes with big, tarry, slightly tough tannins. Needs five years in the bottle. (ST)" (01/2002)

2012 Martinelli "Blue Slide Ridge" Fort Ross-Seaview Pinot Noir
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2012 Martinelli "Blue Slide Ridge" Fort Ross-Seaview Pinot Noir (95RP, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "From the estate’s grand cru vineyard, the 2012 Pinot Noir Blue Slide Ridge comes from a site planted in 1995 with Dijon clones 667, 777, 115, Pommard and Clone X which was sourced from Helen Turley and John Wetlaufer. It’s a big wine with 15.2% natural alcohol. Stunning aromas of forest floor, mulberries, blueberries and blackcurrants soar from the glass of this deep ruby/purple-tinged Pinot Noir. Full-bodied and voluptuous, this stunner should drink well for 10-15 years. Sadly, only 234 cases were produced. (RP)" (12/2014)

2011 Saxum "James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend
Bid on this bottle of 2011 Saxum "James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (96RP, 96VN, 94ST, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Reminding me of a top 2010 Chateauneuf du Pape (the 2010 Raymond Usseglio Cuvee Imperiale to be exact), the 2011 James Berry Vineyard is a blend of 69% Grenache, 13% Mourvedre, 13% Syrah, 2% Counoise, and a splash of Roussanne, that was aged in a combination of concrete (Grenache) and larger oak puncheons. A fresh, detailed and more elegant example of the cuvee, it offers gorgeous notes of ripe berry fruit, loads of exotic spice, violets, pepper and lavender to go with a full-bodied, beautifully pure and layered profile on the palate. It’s no blockbuster, but has loads of energy and tension, as well as class and refinement. Give it 2-3 years in the cellar and enjoy it over the following decade or longer. (JD) 96+" (08/2014)

1990 Moët & Chandon "Dom Pérignon" Brut Champagne
Bid on this bottle of 1990 Moët & Chandon "Dom Pérignon" Brut Champagne (98RP, 95BH, 93VN, 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Medium lemon-straw colour. Intensely fragrant nose with aromas of jasmine, cinnamon buttered toast, stewed apples and preserved ginger. Concentrated honey-nut, warm apple tart and spice flavours fill the mouth giving ample flesh to the firm, fine structure. The bubbles are still remarkably frisky and, in harmony with the crisp backbone of acid, make for a relatively youthful, elegant and exquisitely balanced wine. Very long finish. (LPB)" (03/2009)

2000 Lynch-Bages, Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 2000 Lynch-Bages, Pauillac (97RP, 96WS, 95JS, 95WE, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Beginning to open magnificently, the still dense purple-colored 2000 reveals a blossoming bouquet of blackberries, cassis, graphite and pen ink. Full-bodied with velvety tannins that have resolved themselves beautifully over the last eleven years, this wine is still an adolescent, but it exhibits admirable purity, texture, mouthfeel and power combined with elegance. One of the all-time great examples of Lynch Bages, the 2000 is just beginning to drink well yet promises to last for another 20-25+ years. (RP)" (08/2011)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2006 Casanova di Neri Brunello di Montalcino (93RP, 93WS, 92ST, 92WE). Wine Spectator: "There are plenty of cherry and plum flavors in this rich red, along with notes of bramble, spice and camphor. The tannins are dense and assertive now, and a sweet fruit component balances the finish, ending with a long aftertaste. Best from 2013 through 2027. (BS)" (08/2011)

1984 d'Yquem, Sauternes (375ml)
Bid on this half-bottle of 1984 d'Yquem, Sauternes (375ml). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This is a surprisingly good wine made under very trying conditions. Yquem began to harvest on October 15 and made the last pass through the vineyards on November 13. Seventy-five percent of the crop was retained for Yquem. The wine at present exhibits a great deal of toasty oak in the bouquet, which is also filled with scents of smoked almonds, glazed pineapples, and honey and caramel. In the mouth, the wine is less flamboyant, with less glycerin and power than usual, but it is still a rich, full-bodied Yquem with a great deal of personality and character. It will not have the great aging potential of the top vintages, but I fully expect it to last at least another 20 years. (RP)" (12/1997)
