2006 Quilceda Creek "Palengat Vineyard" Horse Heaven Hills Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2006 Quilceda Creek "Palengat Vineyard" Horse Heaven Hills Cabernet Sauvignon (95RP, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This is the first vintage of the 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Palengat Vineyard, located in the Horse Heaven Hills AVA. The wine also contains 15% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot. Purple-colored, it offers up a splendid perfume of wood smoke, spice box, pencil lead, espresso, violets, black currant, and blackberry. Full-bodied, plush, and concentrated, it is already revealing considerable complexity despite the youth of the vines. In spite of its size, the wine manages to retain a sense of elegance, a trademark of all of Quilceda Creek’s wines. Give it 5-7 years of additional bottle age and drink it from 2015 to 2026. Bid on this 3-magnum lot of 2006 Merry Edwards "Klopp Ranch" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir (1.5L) (96WE). Wine Enthusiast: "Made in the Merry Edwards style, which is powerfully ripe and extracted, yet always balanced. Dazzles with enormous cherry pie filling, cola, sassafras, beef jerky, raspberry tart, anise, pepper and smoky cedar flavors that finish with amazing length. Yet the tannin-acid structure is superb, and the wine is totally dry. " (08/2009)

2004 Justin "Isosceles" Paso Robles Bordeaux Blend (1.5 L)
Bid on this magnum lot of 2004 Justin "Isosceles" Paso Robles Bordeaux Blend (1.5 L). The 2004 Isosceles is inky blue with a slight purple overtone around the rim. Aromas of blueberry, black cherry and cassis fill the glass. The entry is soft, velvety and filled with bright fruit. Seamless, lengthy tannins scream across the palate showing the youth and potential longevity of this wine. Layers of complexity evolve into a finish that combines flavors of coffee, dark fruit and hints of vanilla and caramel. This is very young, and will continue to evolve from now through 2020. 92+ points from Richard Jennings: "Rich, sexy, cassis, blackberry nose; tight but tasty, cassis, plum palate; medium finish." 2008 Saxum "James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2008 Saxum "James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (98RP, 98RR, 97WS, 95VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2008 James Berry Vineyard (52% Grenache, 31% Mourvedre, and 17% Syrah) saw some of its Grenache aged in the concrete eggs that are now catching on among some of the top producers on California’s Central Coast. With strong minerality from the limestone soil, this exuberant, fleshy, full-bodied wine is already drinking well. (I believe it was actually bottled just a day or two before my visit, which makes its performance that much more remarkable.) Dense purple, with sweet notes of barbecue smoke and meats as well as roasted herbs, extravagant black cherry, black currant, and blackberry fruit are all present in this wine, but there is plenty of underlying structure that comes from both the minerality and the Mourvedre component. Pure, full-bodied, but again, impressively elegant and nuanced, this is a tour de force and another prodigious exam

Of the 2010 Williams Selyem "Rochioli Riverblock" Russian River Pinot Noir,Wine Enthusiast writes: "While this vineyard is close by the Russian River and is not considered the best of Rochioli's vineyards, winemaker Bob Cabral consistently makes its grapes into one of Williams Selyem's most compelling wines. This shows the impeccable tannins and acids of Rochioli fruit, with sweet, ripe, deep flavors of cherry and spice. 2009 Viader "V" Napa Valley Red
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Viader "V" Napa Valley Red (92ST). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "(a 60/40 blend of petit verdot and cabernet sauvignon): Medium red. Aromas of cherry, redcurrant, plum, licorice, nutty oak, herbs and pepper, with a riper chocolatey element emerging with air. Juicy red berry and spice flavors lead to a very firm finish featuring serious tannic spine. This should be held a few years. Viader told me that the estate has had its own bottling equipment since 2004, which is unusual for a small family winery. (ST)" (05/2012)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Still a young wine at age 12, the 2001 Insignia exhibits a dense purple color along with a sweet bouquet of camphor, blackberries, cassis, incense and spring flowers. 2005 Schrader "Beckstoffer To Kalon CCS" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2005 Schrader "Beckstoffer To Kalon CCS" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (100RP, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon CCS (14.6% alcohol and 175 cases) is absolutely out of this world. I have given more perfect scores to this cuvée than any of the other Schrader wines. Made from Clone 4 with slight additions of Clone 6 and 337, it is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, like all these wines from the Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard. This wine has a glorious nose of licorice, cedar wood, vanillin, creme de cassis, blackberry and graphite. Super-rich and velvety, with sweet, supple tannins, an opulent full-bodied mouthfeel, and a skyscraper-like finish, this prodigious wine is drinking beautifully, and just now coming into its adolescence. It should go on for another 20-25 years. (RP)" (06/2015)

The wine has dazzling stuffing, expansive texture, sensational purity, and well-integrated acidity and tannin. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2001 Caymus "Special Selection" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (96RP, 93CG, 93W&S, 93WE, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Caymus has been around for so long there is a tendency to under-estimate their wines. However, they have a brilliant track record as evidenced by the decade old 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon Vintage Selection. Abundant chocolaty, black currant, licorice and coffee aromas soar from the glass of this perfumed wine. It exhibits an opaque ruby/purple color, wonderful opulence, a deep, full-bodied mouthfeel, fabulous depth and not a hard edge to be found. While seemingly fully mature, the supple tannins, expansive fruit and glycerin, depth and overall balance suggest it will keep for another 15+ years. (RP)" (06/2011)

Of the 1977 Heitz "Fay" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon,John Gilman writes: "The 1977 Heitz Fay Vineyard bottling is a superb example of the vintage that possesses plenty of potential longevity, despite its drinking beautifully at the present time. Like the 1978 Heitz wines, this really still needs some extended aeration before drinking, to allow all of its elements to unlock on the both the nose and palate. After a good thirty or forty minutes of air the wine offers up a lovely, red fruity nose of cherries, quince, blood orange, woodsmoke, a touch of curry, lovely soil tones, mustard seed, and a gentle topnote of the chipotles to come with further bottle age. This is a big full-bodied, powerful, rich, yet accessible style of wine, as most 2012s tend to be. Drink it over the next 15-20 years. (RP)" (10/2014)

2007 Font de Michelle "Elegance de Jeanne" Chateauneuf -du-Pape
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2007 Font de Michelle "Elegance de Jeanne" Chateauneuf -du-Pape (95ST, 93RP, 91WS). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Glass-staining ruby. Decadent, highly perfumed aromas of black raspberry, kirsch, potpourri and incense, with a smoky undertone. Lush, palate-staining red and dark berry compote flavors are given spine by juicy acidity and gain sweetness and power with air. For a big, weighty wine this is almost shockingly graceful. The finish repeats the dark fruit and smoke notes and leaves spices and minerals behind, eventually. Two-thirds of this cuvee, which had no name when I tasted it from barrel last year and called it "Vieilles Vignes," is from century-old grenache vines in La Crau. (ST)" (01/2010)

2005 Domaine Thibault Liger-Belair Richebourg Grand Cru
Bid on this bottle of 2005 Domaine Thibault Liger-Belair Richebourg Grand Cru ((91-94BH), (92-94RP), 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "As darkly rich and deep as are several of the wines in this year’s collection, it is perhaps not surprising that the Thibault Liger-Belair 2005 Richebourg – from 70 year-old vines that he speculates are the oldest in the appellation (though we’ve heard this before, at Lucien Le Moine) – would be in every sense dark and deep. Palate-staining bitter blackberry and cassis concentrates, roasted, singed meat, and pan juices, intense smokiness, and peaty earthiness mount a veritable siege of the palate. An oaky whiff of coconut and caramel is extraneous, but in this context hardly annoying. This is among the most powerful Pinots of the vintage, not at all charming, but signaling grand aspirations and potential if given at least a decade in the cellar. (The 2004 was scarcely less concentrated or darkly-hued, but displayed a bit more raw tannin and heat.)

2014 Scarecrow Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2014 Scarecrow Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (100RP, 96VN, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The utterly perfect 2014 Scarecrow Cabernet Sauvignon (1,500 cases) has everything one could possibly want in a Cabernet. Inky purple-colored to the rim, with a glorious nose of white flowers, crème de cassis, hints of blackberry and boysenberry, some licorice and forest floor are followed by an enormously concentrated wine with fabulous purity, a skyscraper-like mid-palate and texture, a length of nearly a minute, and stunning flavors, with flawless integration of acidity, tannin, wood and alcohol. This is a great, great wine and certainly one of the Cabernet Sauvignons of this vintage. Drink it over the next 25-30 or more years. (RP)" (12/2016)

2009 Sine Qua Non "Upside Down" Grenache
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2009 Sine Qua Non "Upside Down" Grenache (96RP, 95ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Grenache Upside Down emerges from the glass with layers of dark red fruit as it sweeps across the palate. There is an inner sweetness and sheer depth that make the 2009 compelling. The 11% Syrah and 5% Mourvedre make themselves heard clearly in adding layers of depth and pure richness. Tar, anise and graphite meld together on the rich, dramatic finish. This is a striking wine endowed with tons of pure textural dimension. The 2009 was sourced from Eleven Confessions (72%), Cumulus (22%) and Bien Nacido (6%) vineyards. (AG)" (04/2012)

1995 Mouton Rothschild, Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 1995 Mouton Rothschild, Pauillac (95JS, 95RP, 95VN, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Bottled in June, 1997, this profound Mouton is more accessible than the more muscular 1996. A blend of 72% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Cabernet Franc, and 19% Merlot, it reveals an opaque purple color, and reluctant aromas of cassis, truffles, coffee, licorice, and spice. In the mouth, the wine is 'great stuff,' with superb density, a full-bodied personality, rich mid-palate, and a layered, profound finish that lasts for 40+ seconds. There is outstanding purity and high tannin, but my instincts suggest this wine is lower in acidity and slightly fleshier than the brawnier, bigger 1996. Both are great efforts from Mouton-Rothschild. Anticipated maturity: 2004-2030. (RP)" (02/1998)

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2009 Marcassin "Marcassin Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (98RP, 97WS, 92VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Pinot Noir Marcassin Vineyard is a gorgeous, clearly California version of a grand cru from Burgundy, such as Clos Saint-Denis or Clos de la Roche. This deep plum/garnet-colored wine offers intense berry fruit along with forest floor, spice box, earth and loads of plum, cherry and strawberry notes, moving toward darker fruits, as well as earthy, autumnal, foresty scents. The wine is full-bodied, with great intensity, sweet tannins and good acidity. Drink it over the next decade or more. (RP)" (08/2015)

James Suckling: "Extremely perfumed with iron, clay and currant character. Copper pennies and hints of steak. Then this turns to flowers, iodine and oyster shells. Full body that's juicy and defined by hefty blackcurrant flavors and real meatiness. Dark-chocolate and orange-peel undertones. Extremely long and flavorful. About three-fourths cabernet sauvignon with the rest being cabernet franc. Excellent follow-up to the 2013." (01/2018)

Juicy and dynamic, with ripe acidity contributing to the impression of inner-mouth tension. Finishes full and long but youthfully tight, with a lingering spiciness and firm structure. 2002 Louis Roederer "Cristal" Brut Champagne
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2002 Louis Roederer "Cristal" Brut Champagne (100W&S, 98JS, 98WE, 97DC, 96VN). Wine & Spirits: "If a wine could ever make you want to pull the top down on your '68 Ferrari convertible, rip off the rearview mirror and take off, this is it. It has a different kind of energy than the '02 Cristal Rosé, which is more ethereal, like strawberries at the right hand of some ancient Gallic god. This is more insolent, brash, earth bound. All the scents and flavors seem to emanate from limestone, as does the acidity, which hits at the front of the mouth and powers through the wine with the kind of solar energy that lifts mist off the white chalk on a cool morning in Cramant. The wine goes on for miles. It's already irresistible, and will only improve with ten, 20, 30 and 40 years of age." (12/2009)

2014 Macdonald Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2014 Macdonald Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon ((93-96VN)). Vinous: "The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon is the most polished, refined young wine I have tasted at MacDonald. Even so, there is not shortage of depth, but in 2014 the young Cabernet is also exceptionally finessed. Interestingly, the fruit tonalities tend more towards red and purple rather than the bluer shades that are typical here. Rose petal, mint, lavender and red stone fruits build into the tense, brilliant finish. What a gorgeous wine this is. (AG)" (12/2016)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2012 Abreu "Las Posadas" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (99RP, 97JS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Las Posadas Proprietary Red is a massive fruit bomb from that high-elevation vineyard. Forest floor, floral notes, lead pencil shavings, licorice, fruitcake, cedar wood and oodles of black fruits soar from the glass and from the palate of this full-bodied, majestic, multi-layered wine. Like most 2012s, it is really strutting it’s stuff. It is still obviously young, but dramatic and flamboyant. This sensational wine should age effortlessly for 25-30+ years. (RP)" (10/2015)

With aromas of violets, minerals, spices, cool stones, mint, dark fruits, and plum skins, this is beautiful. Very much still a baby right now, it needs much more time. This is a wine for the next generation. Finesse and elegance, truly a wine that makes you contemplate life. This is not about power, there is really nothing like it. 93% Cabernet Sauvignon. Creme de cassis, blackberry, smoked earth, toasted spice and violets emerge from the glass, and it flows onto the palate with full-bodied richness, beautiful purity of fruit and brilliant length. Gaining more minerality with time in the glass, it will continue to flesh out nicely with another handful of years in the cellar, and have two decades of ultimate longevity. (JD)" (06/2014)
