2014 Scarecrow "M. Étain" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2014 Scarecrow "M. Étain" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (94RP, 92VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Celia Welch has hit a home run again with the legendary J.J. Cohn Vineyard in Rutherford, a site that includes a block of old vines planted in 1945, which certainly must make them some of the oldest Cabernet vines in all of Napa Valley. There are 2,000 cases of the 2014 Monsieur Etain, which is a great enough Cabernet by itself. Wonderfully pure crème de cassis notes with some white flowers, lead pencil shavings and incense are followed by a deep, full-bodied wine with silky tannins, a layered, multi-dimensional mouthfeel and a beautiful finish of 40+ seconds. This is an exquisite, dense, rich but sexy Cabernet Sauvignon. And now for the good news -- there are 2,000 cases of it. Drink it over the next 20 or more years. (RP)" (12/2016)

Of the 2005 Nicolas Rossignol Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru "Fourneaux",Wine Spectator writes: "Needs air to exhibit blackberry and cherry aromas and flavors. Earth, smoke and mineral accents round out the flavor profile and the firm structure boosts the finish. It's concentrated and long." (05/2008)

Bid on this 2-half-bottle lot of 2003 Sine Qua Non "Mr. K The Noble Man" Chardonnay (375ml) (OWC - (95-96ST), 94RP, 93VN) in original wood. Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Medium gold. Knockout nose offers pure botrytis aromas of orange oil, apricot, clove, marzipan, chocolate and mocha. Extraordinarily thick and honeyed but with bracing acids leavening the flavors of marzipan, coconut, brown sugar and orange rind. Higher-toned than the gewurztraminer, with a spirity suggestion of Gran Marnier. Krankl was about to bottle this. I have rarely tasted such thoroughly botrytized Chardonnay. (ST)" (07/2005)

Of the 2005 Roland Thevenin Beaune 1er Cru "Cent Vignes",Wine Spectator writes: "A core of ripe black cherry and blackberry fruit is augmented by toasty oak in this well-buffed, pure-tasting red. Vibrant and juicy, with serious tannins shoring up the fresh finish. Needs time. Best from 2012 through 2020. (BS)" (11/2009)

2005 Vincent Girardin Tasting Lot
Bid on this 6-bottle 2005 Vincent Girardin Tasting Lot, including 2-bottles of 2005 Vincent Girardin Santenay 1er Cru "Gravieres" Vieilles Vignes, 2-bottles of 2005 Vincent Girardin Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru "Les Vergelesses", and 2-bottles of 2005 Vincent Girardin Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er cru “Serpentières”. Of the 2005 Vincent Girardin Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru "Les Vergelesses",This is smokey on the palate, with rich black fruit and a prominent thread of minerality at its core. This is no surprise, since this vineyard, on the border with Pernand is known for its shallow topsoils and limestone subsoil. It is muscular and masculine. Drinking now, with decanting, but a terrific cellar candidate. (Keith Wollenberg, K&L Burgundy Buyer, 05/10)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2005 Simon Bize et Fils Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru "Aux Guettes" (92BH, 92RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "From a site immediately above the town of Savigny, the 2005 Savigny-les-Beaune Aux Guettes displays aromas of blackberry, wood smoke, and toasted walnut. In the mouth, this offers diverse black fruits, fruit pits, toasted nuts, meat stock concentration and stony minerality in a dense, sappy matrix vigorous in its complex interplay of flavors and finishing intensity. It is one of those 2005s that may be more impressive than fun to drink in its youth, but reveals enough deep, dark, complexity to convince one that it is deserving of a place in the cellar for ten or more years. 2014 Bevan Cellars "Tin Box" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2014 Bevan Cellars "Tin Box" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (96RP, 93VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Another 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Tin Box was 147 cases, aged in three-fourth Taransaud and one-fourth Darnajou barrels. It is a deep, powerful, almost primordial wine, very much in the Bevan style, but with sweet, velevty tannin, gorgeous blue and blackberry fruit, a touch of creosote and camphor. An almost Graves-like scorched-earth is present in this deep, full-throttle, amazingly savory and concentrated , balls-to-the wall Cabernet. Drink it over the next 20+ years. (RP)" (10/2016)

2012 Ovid Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this bottle of 2012 Ovid Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend ((93-96ST), 95VN, 94RP, 93WS). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright medium ruby. Electric aromas of black cherry, blackberry, licorice and crushed rock. Very tight and youthfully imploded, with strong acidity hiding the wine's outstanding underlying density and sweetness today. All black fruits and minerals. Most impressive today on the precise, slowly mounting finish, which features tannins that are at once silky and masculine. A great 2012 in the making. (ST)" (03/2014)

2005 Nicolas Potel Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru "Aux Echanges"
Bid on this bottle of 2005 Nicolas Potel Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru "Aux Echanges" (91RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "From the 2.3 acre premier cru portion of an obscure and relatively low-elevation site that is the monopole of an investment consortium, Potel’s 2005 Chambolle-Musigny Aux Echanges is one of the few Potel wines that endured a protracted malo, finishing only in December after being transferred to tank. Aromas and flavors of salted cassis and blackberry, wood smoke, tea, narcissus, smoked meat and soy make a highly-concentrated and complex impression. The long finish here is dark and brooding in a vintage-typical way, meaty, smoky and black-fruited. This wine temporarily betrays its recent bottling following such a late malo. 91+ points. Wine Enthusiast: "This year’s Matriarch is very similar to Harlan Estate in structure, and in some ways, a superior wine, or at least more delicious now. Shows the most beautiful black currant, cedar, blueberry pie and Asian spice flavors. What makes the structure so gorgeous are the firm tannins. Ultimately, it’s a refined, exquisite red wine. Hard to imagine a better one for drinking over the next decade, and just shows that price sometimes has no relationship to quality." (05/2009)

Bid on this bottle of 2005 Calon-Ségur, St-Estèphe (94RP, 93JS, 93WS, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted from an ex-château bottle at BI Wine & Spirits Calon-Segur dinner in London, the 2005 Calon Segur is on par with the wonderful 2000. The only real difference is that this needs more time in bottle. It has a captivating nose: blackberry and boysenberry fruit coming at you at full pelt; dried blood and bacon fat developing as secondary aromas just behind. There is fine delineation here - an underlying mineralité sure to surface with time. The palate is very intense and disarmingly youthful, almost ferrous on the entry with layers of ripe black fruit that segue into an earthy finish (with a curious light tang of Marmite on the aftertaste!). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The fabulous 1998 Barolo Falletto del Serralunga reveals intensity and volume. A dark plum color is accompanied by a classic Nebbiolo perfume of rose water, melted tar, truffles, and cherry jam. As the wine sits in the glass, aromas of spice box and cigar smoke also emerge. Full-bodied, dense, and powerfully tannic, yet extremely harmonious, it will be at its finest between 2008-2030. (RP)" (10/2001)

2001 Clos Mogador, Priorat
Bid on this bottle of 2001 Clos Mogador, Priorat (97RP, 96JD, 95WE, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2001 Clos Mogador was described as 'simply sensational' when first tasted by the most illustrious taster from Monkton. I would not disagree one bit. At 11 years 'young,' it remains beautifully defined and fresh on the nose, with vibrant red berry fruit, slate and a hint of brine. The palate is medium-bodied with a wonderful entry: blackberry, black pepper, a touch of cumin and sea salt. It is blessed with outstanding definition and precision, with a gentle grip on the finish and dried blood on the aftertaste. This is a profound Priorat that has barely started to show what it can do! Clos Mogador needs no introduction. Rene Barbier was a pupil of Jean-Claude Berrouet and is one of the "founding fathers" in Priorat as part of the "Gratallops group." I met him for the first time at his home, located at the bottom of a never-ending winding dirt track and surrounded by vines. He

Bid on this bottle of 2001 Dalla Valle "Maya" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (98RP, 96VN, 95ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Even more prodigious is the 2001 Maya, a blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon and 45% Cabernet Franc. A modern day legend, it boasts complex notes of cedarwood, sauteed porcini mushrooms, camphor, graphite, creme de cassis, kirsch and forest floor. The heavenly aromas are followed by a broad, deep, full-bodied, opaque purple-colored wine with a full-bodied mouthfeel and moderately high tannins. Still a baby at age 10, it needs another 4-5 years of cellaring and should age effortlessly for 30-40 years thereafter. This is a modern day classic! (RP)" (06/2011)

Filled with pure tropical fruit characteristics, it is a full-bodied, exotic Chardonnay offering up tremendous notes of smoky hazelnuts as well as lychee nuts presented in a ripe, gorgeously balanced style with a decidedly California personality, but with more definition than most California Chardonnays of this size and intensity. 1982 Gruaud-Larose, St-Julien

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A massive wine that is clearly of first-growth quality in this vintage, the 1982 Gruaud Larose remains a youngster. A broodingly dense, thick, unctuously textured, inky/plum/garnet/purple color offers up scents of beef blood, steak tartare, cassis, herbs, tobacco, and underbrush. One of the most concentrated wines of the vintage (as well as one of the most concentrated Bordeaux’s I have ever tasted), it is a huge, full-bodied, weighty, rich wine whose tannins are getting silkier and silkier. It appears set for another 30-40 years of life. This behemoth is a singularly profound example of Gruaud Larose that continues to justify its legendary status. Anticipated maturity: now-2050. 2000 Massandra "Prince Golitzin Seventh Heaven" White Dessert Blend Crimea Ukraine (OCB)
Bid on this bottle of 2000 Massandra "Prince Golitzin Seventh Heaven" White Dessert Blend Crimea Ukraine in original cardboard. A rare dessert wine from the oldest winery in the Ukraine. The Massandra appellation stretches along the south coast of the Crimea. Sweet wine production goes back to the early 19th century in the region, which flourished under the unquenchable demand of the Tsars. Here, the winemaking history remained intact under communism, unlike what later happened behind the Iron Curtain to the sweet wine estates of Hungary. According to Robert Parker: "Founded by Tsar Nicholas II in 1894, the Massandra Winery, on the outskirts of Yalta, on the Crimean Peninsula, supplied the royal family with fine wines while they were vacationing at their summer palace at Livadia."

Full-bodied with sensational purity, a multidimensional mouthfeel and a long, voluptuous finish with no hard edges, it has only reached mid-adolescence, and has at least two decades of life ahead of it. 1994 Latour, Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 1994 Latour, Pauillac (94RP, (92-94ST), 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This is an interesting as well as great vintage for Latour. As indicated in my barrel tasting report, Latour's 1994 possesses an atypically high percentage of Merlot (27%) in the final blend. Because of this, the wine appears to have a sweeter, more fleshy texture than is typical for a young Latour, but do not make the mistake of thinking this will be a commercially-styled, easy to drink wine. It exhibits an opaque dark ruby/purple color, and a backward, intense textbook nose of walnut and cassis scents complemented by smoky pain grille notes that build in the glass. This full-bodied, powerful, layered Latour reveals high tannin, but no bitterness or astringency. The superb purity, fabulous precision, and remarkable length should ensure 35-40 years of longevity. Readers will find more fat, flesh, and glycerin than usual for a young Latour (save for such great vintages as 1982 and 1990),

2004 Alfredo Roagna "La Rocca e la Pira" Barolo Riserva
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2004 Alfredo Roagna "La Rocca e la Pira" Barolo Riserva (94RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Roagna’s 2004 Barolo La Rocca e la Pira is awesome. A sensual, layered Barolo, the wine emerges from the glass with gorgeous inner perfume, power and depth in its dark fruit. The aromatics seem to be developing faster than the fruit and structural components. My impression is that this won’t be a terribly long-lived wine, but it should drink well to age twenty or so. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2024. (AG)" (12/2010)

Bid on this bottle of 1998 Moet & Chandon "Cuvée Dom Pérignon" Brut Champagne (97ST, 95WE, 94W&S, 92VN, 91WS). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "The 1998 Dom Pérignon has an intense white-golden color and is beautifully clear and fine on the nose, which indicates a lovely maturity and displays grey bread, almond cake and iodine flavors, along with lemon and orange aromas. This clarity and mineral freshness proceeds on the highly elegant, finesse-full and silky textured palate, and the complexly flavored, very distinguished finish is dry and mineral, revealing a stimulating salinity and tension. The 1998 seems young still, but is certainly a great pleasure to drink and will be for many years. (SR)" (06/2016)

2004 Bodegas Roda Rioja Roda Reserva
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2004 Bodegas Roda Rioja Roda Reserva (94RP, 94ST, 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2004 vintage was a great one in Rioja (as it was in the rest of Spain). The 2004 Roda I Reserva is purple-colored with an expressive, youthful bouquet of wood smoke, espresso, incense, tobacco, black cherry, and blackberry. Structured on the palate, it has enough ripe tannin to evolve for another 6-8 years. Sweetly fruited, it has superior depth and concentration, layered savory flavors, and a lengthy, pure finish. Its drinking window will extend from 2015 to 2034.(Jay Miller) " (06/2010)

Reveals extra dimensions of flavor and depth as this unfolds, with a long finish. Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot. Best from 2009 through 2018. *Highly Recommended* (JL)" (11/2007)

Bid on this bottle of 2001 Pierre Usseglio et Fils "Réserve des Deux Frères" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (99RP, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2001 Chateauneuf du Pape Reserve des Deux Freres elicits “wows”. Aged 60% in neutral wood foudres and 40% in one, two, and three-year old Burgundy barrels, this 2001, which tips the scales at an awesome 16.2% natural alcohol, boasts an inky/purple color along with a sensationally pure bouquet of blackberries, graphite, acacia flowers, licorice, and sweet kirsch liqueur. Unctuously textured and full-bodied, with high tannin as well as a closed personality, this prodigious yet fabulous Chateauneuf du Pape is a potential legend in the making. It requires 3-5 years of cellaring, and should keep for two decades. The texture, purity, and magnificent concentration suggest tiny yields, old vines, and non-interventionalistic winemaking. By the way, this wine represents a selection of the finest lots in the cellar as the sources are the same as for th

2014 Myriad "Beckstoffer Dr. Crane Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2014 Myriad "Beckstoffer Dr. Crane Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (95JD, 95RP, 94WS, 93VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of my favorite first-growth sites of Napa Valley is the Dr. Crane Vineyard on the back streets of St. Helena, and Myriad produces two cuvées: a 225-case Dr. Crane Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon and the Dr. Crane Vineyard Elysian, which is a barrel selection based on the best barrels Mike Smith can find from Darnajou and Taransaud cooperage. The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Dr Crane Vineyard, 15.1% alcohol, is from clone 337 and is a wine of great power and richness with complex blueberry and blackberry, charcoal and graphite notes, stunning minerality, beautiful purity, velvety tannins and a killer finish of close to 50+ seconds. This wine is drinkable because it is a 2014, but it should age nicely for two decades or more. (RP)" (12/2016)

2010 Pavie, St-Emilion
Bid on this bottle of 2010 Pavie, St-Emilion (100RP, 98JS, (94-97WS), 95ST, 94VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "What fun, excitement and joy it will be to compare the four perfect wines Perse has made in 2005, 2009, 2010 and, of course, the 2000, in 25 or so years. This wine is truly profound Bordeaux. Everything is in place - remarkable concentration and a beautiful nose of cedar and ripe blackcurrant and blackberry with some kirsch and spice box in the background. Lavishly rich, with slightly more structure and delineation than the more Rabelaisian 2009, this wine does show some serious tannins in the finish, and comes across as incredibly youthful. Of course, it's five years old, but it tastes more like a just-bottled barrel sample than a 2010. In any event, this wine is set for a long, long life and should be forgotten for at least another decade. Consume it over the following 75 or more years." (08/2016)

1982 Mouton-Rothschild, Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 1982 Mouton-Rothschild, Pauillac (100JS, 100RP, 98ST, 98WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This wine remains one of the legends of Bordeaux. It has thrown off the backward, youthful style that existed during its first 25 years of life, and over the last 4-5 years has developed such secondary nuances as cedar and spice box. The creme de cassis, underlying floral note, full-bodied power, extraordinary purity, multilayered texture, and finish of over a minute are a showcase for what this Chateau accomplished in 1982. The wine is still amazingly youthful, vibrant, and pure. It appears capable of remaining fruity and vibrant in 2082! Thank God it is beginning to budge, as I would like to drink most of my supply before I kick the bucket. This is a great, still youthful wine, and, on occasion, one does understand the hierarchy of Bordeaux chateaux when you see the complexity and brilliance of this first-growth. (RP)" (06/2009)

1999 Lafite-Rothschild, Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 1999 Lafite-Rothschild, Pauillac (95RP, 94WS, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1999 Lafite Rothschild sports an engraved '1999' on the bottle along with an eclipse to mark that significant historical event of August, 1999. It is a quintessential offering from Lafite Rothschild. This prodigious wine is both elegant and intensely flavored, and almost diaphanous in its layers that unfold with no heaviness. An opaque ruby/purple color is accompanied by a complex bouquet of lead pencil, graphite, cedar, creme de cassis, toast, and vanilla. It is medium-bodied, with extravagant layers of richness yet little weight, and a finish that is all sweetness, ripeness, and harmony. This extraordinary Lafite increasingly appears to be a modern day clone of the majestic 1953. A mere one-third of the crop made it into the grand vin! Anticipated maturity: 2007-2030. 2010 Domaine Armand Rousseau Chambertin Grand Cru
Bid on this bottle of 2010 Domaine Armand Rousseau Chambertin Grand Cru (98BH, 98ST, (95-97RP)). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Medium red, a bit less saturated than the Clos de Beze. Pungent aromas of wild red berries, smoke, earth, iron and wild herbs. Almost shockingly silky in the mouth, but with crushed-stone minerality lending force to the blackberry, licorice and earth flavors. Incredibly sappy but edge-free wine with an explosive, endless finish that titillates the salivary glands. Longer than the Clos de Beze but that wine is a bit sweeter today, with darker, more exotic flavors. This Chambertin is not yet showing its flesh but if it puts on weight with extended bottle aging, which I expect it to do, it may eventually merit a perfect score. A monument of the vintage. 98+ (ST)" (03/2013)

1962 d'Yquem, Sauternes
Bid on this bottle of 1962 d'Yquem, Sauternes (91RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted at the Fine Wine Experience 1962 Bordeaux horizontal. Moderate Clear lucid gold with green tints. The nose is very elegant and well defined, touches of wet wool, honey, wood resin and barley sugar (a la Barsac). I wish it had more vigour and complexity, for it is rather overwhelmed by the Coutet and the Suduiraut. The palate is far better than the nose with a lovely creamy, harmonious texture with perfect acidity and balance. Citrus peel, fresh ginger, dried apricot, ginger and orange sorbet with noticeable residual sugar on the finish. This is probably an underrated Yquem given market prices, but the modest nose means I must temper my appraisal. (NM)" (11/2010)
