1983 Léoville-Poyferre, St-Julien
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1983 Léoville-Poyferre, St-Julien (91RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "One of the superstar 1983s that is not beginning to crack up and decline, Leoville-Poyferre’s effort exhibits a dark garnet color, a sweet nose of plum liqueur intermixed with licorice, black currants, weedy tobacco, and herbes de Provence. The wine is round, seductive, with a certain degree of opulence, low acidity, gorgeous fruit, and a nice layered palate impression. It makes for quite a seductive style of wine. (RP)" (01/2003)

2009 Calon-Ségur, St-Estèphe
Bid on this bottle of 2009 Calon-Ségur, St-Estèphe ((93-96WS), 95JS, 94RP, 94ST). Wine Spectator: "Delivers gorgeous aromas of blackberry, blueberry and licorice, with hints of tobacco and spice. Full-bodied, offering a lovely texture and refinement. Very long and beautiful, with tangy acidity and lively fruit. A rich, yet very balanced, Calon. This is almost all Cabernet Sauvignon instead of the normal blend with 40 percent Merlot. The château is now using 100 percent new wood. Like the changes. (JS, Web Only-2010)"

2013 Cayuse "Wallah Wallah Special #5" Walla Walla Valley Syrah (1.5L) (OWC)
Bid on this 1.5 liter 1-bottle lot of 2013 Cayuse "Wallah Wallah Special #5" Walla Walla Valley Syrah (1.5L) (OWC - 96RP, 93VN, 93WE) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the most complete, layered and elegant 2013s from Cayuse is the 2013 Syrah Walla Walla Special #5, which is made from two separate parcels that remind Christophe of the northern Rhone’s Jamet brother’s Cote Rotie. He also keeps the price low as a thank you to his customers. Giving up classic cool climate notes of green olives, black cherries, scorched earth, ash and ripe herbs, this beauty hits the palate with full-bodied richness, no hard edges, incredibly fine tannin and a finish that just keeps going. I thoroughly enjoyed drinking it today, but it will be better with 4-5 years of cellaring and have two decades or more of overall longevity. (JD)" (06/2016)

2001 Celler de Capçanes "Cabrida" Montsant (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum lot of 2001 Celler de Capçanes "Cabrida" Montsant (1.5L) (94RP, 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Made from 100% Grenache (90-103 year old vines planted at 900 meters), the 2001 Cabrida was cropped at 16 hectoliters per hectare, and spent 16 months in new French oak. There are 4,800 bottles of this sumptuous, inky/purple-colored offering. Rich aromas of briery fruit, raspberries, blackberries, crushed stone, and flowers emerge from a glass of this Spanish red. It boasts superb purity, tremendous intensity, and a full-bodied, long, flowing finish. I’m not sure how well it will evolve, but certainly for drinking over the next 5-7 years, it delivers tremendous complexity as well as intensity. (RP)" (04/2004)

Sweet and expansive on entry, then tighter in the middle, with an alluringly perfumed quality to the dark berry, cherry-cola and vanilla flavors. Finishes sappy and long, with fine-grained tannins adding shape and grip. (JR)" (09/2013)

Bid on this magnum lot of 2012 Domaine Anne et Hervé Sigaut Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru "Les Fuées" (1.5L) ((88-91BH)). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "There is a deft touch of wood setting off the aromas of plum, black cherry and wet stone where the latter element is very much front and center on the detailed and highly energetic middle weight flavors. The supporting tannins are moderately firm and clearly ripe though they are perhaps a bit less refined than I am used to seeing with this wine. Overall I like the depth of material and this may surprise to the upside if it harmonizes. Drink: 2018+" (01/2014)

Bid on this magnum lot of 2007 Château de Beaucastel Châteauneuf-du-Pape (1.5L) (96JD, 96RP, 96WS, 94ST). Wine Spectator: "This extremely dense red delivers layers of melted fig, mulled boysenberry and black currant fruit, all laced with notes of charred mesquite, hoisin sauce and Kenya AA coffee. The long, silky mouthfeel belies the latent power in reserve--and there's a lot of it, with waves of grip driving the finish. Best from 2010 through 2030. (JM)" (12/2009)

2007 Domaine du Pégaü "Cuvée da Capo" Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Bid on this bottle of 2007 Domaine du Pégaü "Cuvée da Capo" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (100RP, 96ST, 96WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A deeper, richer version of the Cuvee Reservee, the 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee da Capo is one of the more youthful, concentrated wines of the vintage. Coming primarily from the la Crau lieu-dit and over 90% Grenache, aged in an old foudre, its deep ruby color is followed by a bonafide smorgasbord of Provencal aromas and flavors of garrigue, cured meats, incense, beef blood, black currants and pepper. While a full-bodied, incredibly concentrated, rich and unctuous wine, it carries its wealth of fruit and mid-palate density with incredible elegance and purity, with a seamless texture, no hard edges and a finish that won't quit. The 2007 is more elegant and seamless than both the 1998 and 2003, with an incredible sweetness of tannin. Nevertheless, it still needs another 2-4 years of bottle age and will blow your mind over the following 10-15 years. (JD)"

There is more tannin in the unusually austere finish, but the wine is remarkably complex, and should be exceptionally long-lived. (RP)" (08/2002)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Nuits St. Georges Clos des Porrets Saint-Georges is the first wine in this lineup that shows the structure of the vintage. Freshly cut flowers, minerals, graphite and black cherries are woven into a textured fabric of notable class. I especially like its energy and drive. Bid on this magnum lot of 2005 Domaine Joseph Drouhin Beaune 1er Cru "Clos des Mouches" (1.5L) (92BH, 92RP, 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Representing huge domaine holdings and in effect the Drouhin flag ship, their 2005 Beaune Clos des Mouches displays aromas of roasted meat, wood smoke, black truffles, plum and black raspberry. Persistently meaty in the mouth, with plum pit and wet stone adjuncts, this is archetypal 2005: richly ripe yet with an invigorating tart fresh edge and quite dark, even somber in flavor shadings. The long savory finish, while pouring out a generous helping of top quality fruit and meat juices, also offers a veritable catalog of mineral nuances ... if only one had names for them all. This should be terrific in 5-7 years. (DS)" (06/2007)

2008 Galardi "Terra Di Lavoro" Roccamonfina (3L)
Bid on this 3L-bottle lot of 2008 Galardi "Terra Di Lavoro" Roccamonfina (3L) (97RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Galardi’s 2008 Terra di Lavoro is a legend in the making. It is a fabulously ripe, rich and seductive wine endowed with beautifully articulated dark plums, ash, leather, licorice, all of which meld together in an explosive, utterly thrilling display of class and elegance. Clean, mineral notes frame the eternal finish. Today the 2008 is impossibly young and the wine will require considerable patience, but its class, pedigree and potential are all first-rate. The wine is remarkable for its density, richness and concentration, all of which have been achieved while maintaining clarity and freshness. The French oak is beautifully integrated in this sumptuous, generous Brunello. Suggestions of flowers and spices add notes of brightness on the finish. 2005 Schrader "Old Sparky" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (OWC)
Bid on this magnum lot of 2005 Schrader "Old Sparky" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (OWC - 100RP) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon Old Sparky (only available in magnums) is the highest in alcohol (14.8%) and, again, was aged in 100% new Darnajou barrels. This is just magnificent and at age ten, tasting like it was four to five years of age. Of course, tasting from magnum contributed somewhat to that, but it’s a great, great example of the Schrader’s favorite cuvée, hence the name. It is predominantly made from Clone 6, with small amounts of Clones 4 and 337. Like all these wines, it has an inky purple color, with notes of licorice, forest floor, graphite, cedar wood and creme de cassis and new saddle leather. Voluptuously textured, expansive, savory and full-bodied, with super-sweet tannins and a finish that goes on for close to a minute, this is a prodigious wine and one of the superstars of the vintage. 1997 Joseph Phelps "Insignia" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1997 Joseph Phelps "Insignia" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (100RP, 97WS, 95WE, 94ST, 93W&S). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "An inky/plum/purple color is accompanied by a stunning bouquet of violets, charcoal, creme de cassis and a hint of toast. Prodigious when it hits the palate with a full-bodied expansiveness, there is not a hard edge to be found in the 1997, only velvety tannins, compelling depth and fruit intensity, and stunning purity. It is a perfect expression of Napa viticulture and wine that should continue to age effortlessly for two decades or more. (RP)" (11/2013)

Bid on this magnum lot of 2011 Next of Kyn (Sine Qua Non) "Cumulus Vineyard No. 5" Central Coast Red Blend (1.5L) (97RP, 95VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "While I reviewed the 2011 Cumulus Vineyard #5 last year, I was thrilled to be able to retaste it this go around. Showing consistently, with tons of savory, meaty characteristics in its currants, cassis, ground herbs and wood smoke-like aromas and flavors, this is a full-bodied, gorgeously concentrated 2011 that shows the freshness and purity of the vintage, yet backs it up with plenty of texture and length. Give it a few years and enjoy bottles through 2032. (JD)" (08/2015)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2011 Peter Michael "Clos du Ciel" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (94RP, 93ST, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Another gorgeous, perfectly balanced wine, although not quite as rich as the 2010, is the 2011 Pinot Noir Clos de Ciel. Lots of forest floor, underbrush, cola and red and black currant characteristics are present in this more evolved yet surprisingly powerful and dense 2011. Production was 530 cases, which is significantly more than in either 2009 or 2010. (RP)" (12/2013)

1965 Charles Krug "Vintage Selection" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1965 Charles Krug "Vintage Selection" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Jancis Robinson: "What a find! This was so jam packed with fruit that, on being served it blind, I was not 100% sure it was Cabernet (I thought it could have been a particularly bumptious right bank wine), although it was beautifully evolved and mature. But it was brilliantly robust and lively and subsided into showing its age only after an hour or two. Amazing to think this was made before Robert Mondavi opened his eponymous winery, and therefore presumably when he was still at the old family business, Charles Krug. Yet another great California wine from the 1960s and 1970s. 18/20 points. (JR)" (03/2015)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1986 Margaux, Margaux (98VN, 97RP, 95WS). Vinous: "The 1986 Chateau Margaux was even more emotionally moving. Still incredibly youthful, it showed incredible focus and depth, all backed up by considerable structure. As hard as it may seem to believe, on this night the 1986 appeared to still be some years away from peaking. It was striking in every way. 98+ (AG)" (02/2012)

2009 Domaine Jean Grivot Echezeaux Grand Cru
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2009 Domaine Jean Grivot Echezeaux Grand Cru (95BH, 95RP, 93ST, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Echezeaux is pure silk. Black cherries, spices, licorice and tar are all woven together in a fabric of nearly indescribable elegance. All the elements fall into place as the Echezeaux captivates both the intellectual and hedonistic senses. This is a wine that impresses for its understated elegance. Readers won't find the drive of the Clos de Vougeot or the structure of the Richebourg. Instead, the Echezeaux possesses stunning textural finesse and phenomenal balance. Anticipated maturity: 2019-2039. Etienne Grivot's 2009s were some of the most exciting wines I tasted on my most recent trip to Burgundy. (AG)" (04/2012)

2012 Shafer "Hillside Select" Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum lot of 2012 Shafer "Hillside Select" Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (100RP, 98JS, 98WE, 97CG, 96WS, 95VN, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: " ... The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Hillside Select is a perfect wine. It elicits more than a few 'wows' when you smell the incredible notes of charcoal, graphite and subtle toast, buttressed and dominated by blackcurrant, blackberry and blueberry fruit. The purity of these fruits, the multidimensional mouthfeel, the seamless integration of acid, alcohol, tannin and wood are all flawless. The 2012 signature adds an extravagant opulence and density that is just mind-boggling, and the wine is a total hedonistic and intellectual turn-on already, although it has 30+ years of life ahead of it. 2004 Domaine Bouchard Père et Fils Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2004 Domaine Bouchard Père et Fils Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru ((93-95BH), 95ST, 95WE). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good bright dark red. Initially reticent aromas of cherry, cola, flowers, pepper and sweet oak. Dense and fine-grained but youthfully imploded, with a strong stony minerality keeping the red cherry, bitter chocolate and floral flavors under wraps. Finishes very juicy and very long, with intriguing pepper and floral nuances. The recorked bottle 24 hours later showed brilliantly complex aromas and flavors of black raspberry, bitter chocolate, rose petal and minerals and superb sappy persistence. A great expression of soil and a highlight of the vintage. I promise you that I drained the bottle to the last drop. (ST)" (04/2007)

Energetic redcurrant and strawberry aromas are complicated by cured meat, Asian spices and minerals. There's a pinot-like delicacy and precision to this wine that's really intriguing. Clean and brisk, with sweet red fruit flavors and a seductive floral pastille quality. Finishes with impressive cut and persistence, leaving minerals and tangy berry skin notes behind. Of the 2005 Alex Gambal Clos Vougeot Grand Cru,Allen Meadows - Burghound writes: "An unusually expressive nose for a young Clos de Vougeot mixes upper and lower register ripe fruit, earth, spice and subtle sauvage hints that dissolve into rich, full and serious but not particularly austere flavors that culminate in a hugely long, dusty and driving finish. There is real energy here and better still, it's focused and like the Ech, sufficiently firmly structured that a decade or more slumber in the cellar will be required. *Don't M

Bid on this bottle of 1999 Domaine Leroy Vosne-Romanee 1er Cru "Les Beaux Monts" ((91-94ST), 93RP, 93WS, 92BH). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Full ruby-red. Reticent but vibrant nose dominated by black raspberry and spices. Bright, spicy and pure; not as thick as the Brulees but more sharply defined. A serious, deep wine with terrific underlying structure and grip. Very fresh and unevolved. Like the Nuits Boudots, this seems close in quality to its 1998 counterpart. Leroy owns a relatively large 2.62-hectare chunk of this excellent premier cru. (ST)" (03/2001)

Spicy, dense and concentrated, with harmonious acidity and solid underlying minerality giving shape to the apple and lemon fruit flavors. Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2004 Il Poggione "Vigna Paganelli" Brunello di Montalcino Riserva (96RP, 95ST, 95VN, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2004 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Vigna Paganelli emerges from the glass with masses of scorched earth, leather, tar, licorice, menthol and dark fruit. The Riserva shows a touch more inner sweetness, richness and depth in its fruit than the regular bottling, plus a bit more French oak as well. For now, the Riserva is quite reticent and requires air, but with time its awesome richness and power come through in spades. This dark, brooding and authoritative Riserva from Il Poggione is simply gorgeous... Anticipated maturity: 2019-2039 (AG)" (04/2010)

2010 Spottswoode "Family Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum lot of 2010 Spottswoode "Family Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (100RP, 97VN, 95ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Production in this cooler year than 2009 produced 2,586 cases and the blend was 92% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot. Consistently perfect from barrel and bottle multiple times, the 2010 is one of the recent blockbuster efforts from Spottswoode. Superb aromatics of spring flowers, blue and black fruits, forest floor and a touch of toast, are followed by a wine of exceptional intensity, texture, purity and a full-bodied finish with velvety, but noticeable tannins. This is still extremely young, but also remarkably impressive even though it is only six years of age. Expect this to hit its prime in about 10 years and last for at least 40. (RP)" (08/2016)
