1982 Gaja "Sori San Lorenzo" Barbaresco (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 1982 Gaja "Sori San Lorenzo" Barbaresco (1.5L) (97VN). Vinous: "The 1982 Barbaresco Sorì San Lorenzo is laced with sweet red cherries, freshly cut flowers, mint, spices and pine. This is an especially polished, refined San Lorenzo that emphasizes finesse over the power that is more typical of this site, although there is no shortage of tannin. With air, the 1982 keeps getting better and better. The long, bright finish is particularly of note. (AG)" (11/2014)

1971 Giacomo Conterno "Monfortino" Barolo Riserva
Bid on this bottle of 1971 Giacomo Conterno "Monfortino" Barolo Riserva (99VN, 98RP). Vinous: "As good as the older wines are, the 1971 Barolo Riserva Monfortino is just insanely beautiful. Still deeply colored and intense to the core, the 1971 delivers a classic Monfortino experience. Layers of dark, mineral-infused fruit flow across the palate in a deep, muscular Monfortino endowed with stunning depth. The 1971 shows why it is one of the all-time greats. This is a mind-blowing bottle. (AG)" (01/2014)

1991 Beaulieu Vineyard "Georges de Latour" Private Reserve Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (3L)
Bid on this 3L-bottle of 1991 Beaulieu Vineyard "Georges de Latour" Private Reserve Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (3L). In 1900, when Georges de Latour decided to buy a small, four-acre property in the town of Rutherford as a surprise for his wife he, perhaps unwittingly, purchased a piece of Napa Valley history. The land would become the foundation for Beaulieu Vineyard, which survived Prohibition by having one of the few of contracts to supply churches with sacramental wine. After Prohibition the winery continued to thrive, experimenting with varietals, blends and aging and under the direction of André Tchelistcheff, the winery would fast become one of California's preeminent producers.

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2011 Kistler "Kistler Vineyard" Sonoma Valley Chardonnay ((94-96VN), 94RP, 94ST, 92WS). Vinous: "The 2011 Chardonnay Kistler Vineyard is totally closed in on itself today. Here the flavors are intensely mineral-inflected and saline. Crushed rocks and citrus lead to sweet floral and spiced notes but the 2011 remains first and foremost a wine of texture and balance. Today, it is drop-dead gorgeous, even though the elements haven't fully come together yet. " (07/2013)

1975 Haut-Brion, Graves (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 1975 Haut-Brion, Graves (1.5L) (94JD, 94RP, 93ST, 92JG). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A wine I completely misjudged early in its life, the 1975 has turned out to be a great wine and one of the top dozen or so wines of the vintage. It actually comes close to competing with the immortal 1975 La Mission-Haut-Brion, one of the most powerful, concentrated wines made in Bordeaux in the last 25 years. The 1975 Haut-Brion shows a dark plum/garnet color, a gorgeously sweet nose of singed saddle leather, scorched earth, tobacco, herb, red as well as black currants, plum, fig, and creosote. Very full-bodied, intense, with noticeable but sweet tannin, this layered, full-bodied wine is very opulent, rich, with striking aromatics. It is a fabulous effort in a vintage that has lost considerable support form Bordeaux wine enthusiasts. This is one of the exceptions. Anticipated maturity: Now-2025. (RP)" (01/2003)

It's so dark colored and disproves those who say that it shouldn't have any. It came straight from the cellars of the estate years ago. Dried flowers and dried fruits. Full body, lots of mushroom character and blueberry. Also ash-like. It's so fine, yet possesses incredible power. Drink now." (11/2016)

1978 Antinori "Tignanello" Toscana
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 1978 Antinori "Tignanello" Toscana. Wine Spectator: "Forty years ago, Piero Antinori outraged the Italian wine world with the first release of a red blend that was quite untraditionally Tuscan, Tignanello. A few years later, he followed that with Solaia, which also blended the Bordeaux grapes Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc with the local Sangiovese. Together, they helped create a new category—super Tuscan—and the future of Tuscany was set in motion....They are produced from separate but contiguous vineyards on the Tignanello estate, located in the heart of the Chianti Classico appellation, so they share similar terroir. The elevations range from 1,150 to 1,325 feet, and the soil is rich in limestone and clay. The site was selected, Antinori explained, because it 'had always been recognized as the best vineyard in the area.'" ("How Antinori Changed the Face of Tuscany," 10/2014)

1980 Henri Jayer Echezeaux Grand Cru
Bid on this bottle of 1980 Henri Jayer Echezeaux Grand Cru (95JG). John Gilman: " It had been a few years since I last tasted the 1980 Echézeaux from Henri Jayer. This has always been one of my favorite vintages for Monsieur Jayer, as the success he had across the board in 1980 has been remarkable. However, as is the case with many of the best wines of this vintage, amongst the last handful of examples of the 1980 Jayer wines that I have had, there have been some bottles beginning to fade, and some still holding on to their peaks. But I have not had a bottle of 1980 Jayer in years as young and fresh as this brilliantly preserved bottle. The bouquet is deep, vibrant and perfumed, soaring from the glass in a blaze of strawberries, raspberries, cherries, intense violets, woodsmoke, well-integrated, spicy wood tones, and a haunting transparency down to the soil. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, young and pure, with a rock solid core of fruit, beautiful acidity, and a very long, shape

1982 Montevertine "Le Pergole Torte" Toscana Rosso (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 1982 Montevertine "Le Pergole Torte" Toscana Rosso (1.5L) (94RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This bottle is nearly impossible to find today. The very rare 1982 Le Pergole Torte is a classic wine that delivers amazing intensity and staying power. Marino Manetti characterizes the 1980 vintage as "cold but soft" and this vintage as "warm but hard." That makes sense when you consider the fragrant, floral and fruity elements of the bouquet. Those tones are immediate, and they pull you in with enthusiasm. Yet the mouthfeel is firm and focused. This is a complete wine, with expressive honey, balsam herb, rosemary, laurel leaf, crème de cassis and cherry liqueur. Rosewood and sandalwood also make brief appearances, as do saline or salty tones. I could venture that this is one of the best-preserved expressions of Sangiovese from the 1982 vintage in existence today. 94+ (ML)" (03/2018)

1985 San Guido "Sassicaia" Bolgheri
Bid on this bottle of 1985 San Guido "Sassicaia" Bolgheri (100RP, 99WS, 98VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Oddly enough, the 1985 Sassicaia was the wine least commented during the conversations that followed this retrospective. Our panel consisted of some two dozen professional wine tasters from around the world, and virtually not a word was uttered with regards to this wine. That's how truly outstanding it is. The soaring beauty of this landmark Sassicaia literally transcends the rather mundane realm of wine critique with its string of adjectives and wearisome descriptors. It hardly deserves to be treated like any of the other gorgeous wines we tasted on this glorious day. In truth, the 1985 Sassicaia does reveal a new perspective onto its perfection each time you have the fortune to taste it. I noticed a layer of bright almond-like sweetness that I don't recall tasting before. The wine seems to be getting younger, not older. Even its appearance is remarkable. Of the various sampl

1975 Lafite-Rothschild, Pauillac (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 1975 Lafite-Rothschild, Pauillac (1.5L) (92RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1975 is a powerful Lafite...In most cases, it has been an outstanding wine, as the bottle tasted in December suggested. The aromatics indicate the wine is fully mature, but the tough tannin level clearly underscores the dark side of the 1975 vintage. This wine will undoubtedly last for another 30+ years... may still turn out to be an exceptional Lafite. (RP)" (02/1996)

1978 Bruno Giacosa "Le Rocche del Falletto di Serralunga" Barolo
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1978 Bruno Giacosa "Le Rocche del Falletto di Serralunga" Barolo. Antonio Galloni wrote the following after the passing of the legendary Bruno Giacosa: "With the passing of Bruno Giacosa the wine world loses a titan. Bruno Giacosa’s accomplishments during a career that spanned eight decades are almost too many to list. Giacosa leaves behind a rich, eternal legacy of brilliant wines and unforgettable memories for those lucky enough to have spent time with the Maestro of Nebbiolo. Bruno Giacosa was a pillar of the generation that saw Piedmont go from the stark poverty of the 1950s to the economic prosperity of today. He was also an innovator in so many areas that are now considered standard practice. Giacosa was the first producer in Piedmont to wholeheartedly embrace the philosophy of single-vineyard, cru Barolo and Barbaresco, one of the first winemakers to have a state of the art cellar with temperature control, an early adopter of French oak and among the

1996 Margaux, Margaux

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1996 Chateau Margaux, a blend of 82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Merlot, 4% Petit Verdot and 2% Cabernet Franc, must be a strong contender for wine of the vintage. It offers everything you desire from this First Growth. It is blessed with breathtaking delineation and freshness on the nose, understated at first and then blossoming with mineral-infused black fruit, hints of blueberry, crushed stone and violet. The palate is perfectly balanced with filigree tannin, perfect acidity, a wine where everything seems to be in its right place. Blackberry, crushed stone at the front of the mouth, just a touch of spice towards the finish that shows supreme control. This is a Margaux that seems to light up the senses. It was outstanding in its youth...something that has not changed one bit over the intervening two decades. This may well turn out to be the Left Bank pinnacle of the 1990s. Tasted July 2016. (NM

Bid on this 3L-bottle lot of 1998 Cos d'Estournel, St-Estèphe (3L) (90JS, 90VN). James Suckling: "The 1998 vintage was not an outstanding one for most Cabernet-reds from Bordeaux, particularly from the Medoc. It rained in late September and affected the quality of the grapes. This said, most of the Right Bank, such as Pomerol and St. Emilion, made superlative wines since they harvest before the rains. John Gilman: "The more I drink California cabernets from the decade of the 1970s, the more I am convinced that I have a slight preference for the style of the 1975s over their more highly touted brethren from the riper year of 1974. The brilliant 1975 Martha’s Vineyard is certainly pretty persuasive evidence that 1975 is indeed a great, great year for cabernet in Napa, as the wine is beautifully deep, pure and still a tad on the young side at age thirty-six! The magical and deep-pitched nose offers up a great mélange of black cherries, petroleum jelly, cigar smoke, leather, a touch of chipotles, coffee and a very complex base of soil tones. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Dugat-Py 2006 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Champeaux displays more finesse and refinement of texture as well as a similar, seemingly gravity-defying combination of density with lift and buoyancy to the corresponding Petite Chapelle, although there is less sheer flavor concentration and drama on display. Black tea and blackberry are decadently laced with peony floral notes in the nose, and the tea and berries are underlain by peat, wet stone, and iron filings. Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2008 Domaine Comte de Vogüé Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru (94RP, 92BH, 92JG, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2008 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru (from young vines in Musigny) is a powerful, inward wine. There is lovely depth to the fruit, but the wine remains tightly coiled at this stage, even if occasional glimmers of richness emerge over time. Cloves, cinnamon and a host of other spiced notes add complexity on the finish. This is another superb, textured wine from de Vogue. Anticipated maturity: 2018-2028. (AG)" (05/2011)

2014 Rhys "Swan Terrace" Santa Cruz Mountains Pinot Noir
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2014 Rhys "Swan Terrace" Santa Cruz Mountains Pinot Noir (96RP, 93VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Coming from a small, east-facing section of the Alpine Vineyard and very chalky soils, the 2014 Pinot Noir Swan Terrace is an impeccably balanced, complete Pinot Noir that has everything you could want from the grape. Gorgeous red and black fruits, roasted herbs, smoked earth and spice all jump from the glass of this seamless red that has polished tannin (and plenty of them), a layered, balanced profile and no shortage of length. Like all of these 2014s, it needs short-term cellaring and will have two decades of overall longevity. (JD)" (10/2016)

Of the 2014 Saxum "Paderewski Vineyard" Paso Robles Red Blend,Jeb Dunnuck writes: " ... the 2014 Paderewski Vineyard is as voluptuous and decadent as it gets. Plum sauce, exotic spices, white pepper, candy corn and spring flowers, it hits the palate with a broad, expansive, sexy style, ripe tannin, no weight and a blockbuster finish. It’s so well balanced and seamless, it can come across as a touch easy, yet it has terrific complexity, good mid-palate density and a great, great finish. This is what great wine is all about. Drink it anytime over the coming decade. (JebDunnuck.com)" (08/2017)

Grown in a Forestville vineyard from modern Dijon clones, it’s very fruity, offering clean, pure flavors of cherries, raspberries, blueberries and spices. The cool climate contributes fresh, zesty acidity, but the tannins are considerable." (06/2010)

Bid on this bottle of 1974 Robert Mondavi Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Mondavi's regular 1974 Cabernet still reveals a solid, deep, young color for its age, a tight but spicy, earthy, herb, and curranty-scented nose, medium body, a certain leanness, but good freshness, and a straightforward, monochromatic style. 2009 Pride Mountain "Reserve" Sonoma/Napa Counties Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2009 Pride Mountain "Reserve" Sonoma/Napa Counties Cabernet Sauvignon (96RP, 94WE, 93VN, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "There is no question the 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve is the most backward and brooding of the wines I tasted from Pride. Firm tannins frame an expressive core of dark red berries, licorice, scorched earth, tobacco, smoke and incense. Today, the 2009 is far too young to offer true pleasure, but it is unquestionably striking. Hints of iron, graphite and smoke add complexity on the finish supported by huge mountain tannins. The 2009 is super distinctive and loaded with personality. Anticipated maturity: 2019-2029. (AG)" (12/2012)

It reveals all of the qualities that make Pinot here so compelling. In the 2009 I find expressive aromatics that meld seamlessly into the fruit, not to mention a gracious yet powerful personality. A super-refined finish has the last say in this moving, breathtaking wine. The UV-SL vineyard is just four miles from the ocean. There is an energy and vitality in the wine I find totally irresistible. (AG) 96+" (02/2012)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2015 Williams Selyem "Foss Vineyard" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir. Connoisseurs Guide: "Less about come-hither charm and more a wine of solidity and structure at this point, this well-extracted youngster conveys a fine sense of concentration and fruity depth, but it presently fights with a bit of astringency and suppleness will have to wait. While it has the stuffing and balance to age nicely, age is definitely required, and a minimum of three or four years will need to pass before it opens up and finds the polish at which it now only distantly hints." 2010 Peter Michael "Point Rouge" Knights Valley Chardonnay
Bid on this bottle of 2010 Peter Michael "Point Rouge" Knights Valley Chardonnay (97RP, 95ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Point Rouge cuvee, which is a selection of the top barrels, tends to be made in a limited quantity, and, according to Nick Morlet, is meant to be cellared for 25+ years. There are only 150 cases of the 2010 Chardonnay Point Rouge, which exhibits lots of spice, buttered citrus, tropical fruits and a liquid minerality that runs through the aromatics and flavors. Full-bodied, rich and majestic, this spectacular Chardonnay should drink well for at least 10-15 years. (RP)" (12/2013)

2008 Flowers "Camp Meeting Ridge" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2008 Flowers "Camp Meeting Ridge" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay. This wine is an expression of the partnership between the soils and climate of Camp Meeting Ridge, where each year's differences leave a pronounced effect on this high-altitude, cool-climate vineyard. 1996 presented some unique opportunities for grape growing and resulting winemaking for CMR fruit. Very low crop levels and a warm spell allowed for exceedingly quick ripening by "Ridge" standards. This was Flowers' warmest season on record, which has lead the resulting wine down a more creme brulee and peach disposition while keeping the trademark mineral and lime notes.

Of the 2004 Realm "The Bard" Napa Valley Red Blend,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "The 2004 The Bard is a combination of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Petit Verdot, and 5% Merlot. Given a similar upbringing to the Tempest, it comes across as more structured, with plenty of sweet creme de cassis fruit intermixed with incense, pain grille, chocolate, and lavender. Dense, full-bodied, and voluptuously textured, with more power and structure than the Tempest, it should be accessible early in life, and age for 14-15 years. (RP)" (12/2006)

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2014 Quilceda Creek "Palengat Vineyard" Horse Heaven Hills Bordeaux Blend (96RP, 94VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A blend of 73% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Merlot, 9% Cabernet Franc, the sensational 2014 Palengat Vineyard is loaded with notions of chocolate covered plums, licorice, roasted herbs, and graphite/lead pencil shavings. Up there with the of the top vintages of the cuvee, this full-bodied, rounded and hedonistic 2014 shines in the vintage, has no hard edges, gorgeous purity, and plenty of ripe, sweet tannin. It’s a serious mouthful of a Cabernet and will drink nicely for 10-15 years. (JD)" (06/2017)

Bid on this bottle of 2003 Shafer "Hillside Select" Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignona (96WE, 95RP, 93W&S, 93WS, 92CG). Wine Enthusiast: "Solidly in the Hillside Select model, this vigorous young Cab is dramatically ripe and powerful. The flavors of red and black currants, milk chocolate, figs and smoky vanilla erupt in the mouth, making the tastebuds jump with joy. However, there is also the structure, among the greatest in California Cabs. The acidity is fine, but the tannins are stupendously rich, sweet and complex, practically a food group in themselves. *Best of 2008, Cellar Selection*" (03/2008)

Take textbook St.-Julien warmed fig, blueberry compote and blackberry reduction notes along with ample graphite, bramble and tobacco flavors, then dial it up a notch. This has terrific energy to offset the admirable depth and length, and hasn't even started a second phase yet. One of the stars of the vintage.—2000 Bordeaux blind retrospective (December 2015). Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Pavie Macquin, St-Emilion (96JS, 96WS, 94VN, 94WE, 92RP, 92ST). Wine Spectator: "This is a "wow" wine, with a stunning display of plum, blackberry and raspberry confiture aromas and flavors, allied to a dense but very velvety structure. Licorice, violet and plum cake notes fill in the background. Everything carries through the long, lush finish until the fine chalky minerality finally appears, adding remarkable finesse to this otherwise explosive display. Hard not to drink now, but this will cruise in the cellar. Drink now through 2030. (JM, Web Only-2016)"

Of the 2013 Bond "Matriarch" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "The 2013 Matriarch, which may well be the finest Matriarch made to date, could easily stand on its own as a single-vineyard offering. Made from the odds and ends of the single-vineyard wines, nevertheless this is pretty great wine, and I joked with the winemaking team that maybe their selection process was too draconian. Dense purple, with notes of mulberry, blackberry, chocolate, cocoa and espresso, the wine is dense, full-bodied, opulent, and a total hedonistic turn-on. (RP)" (10/2016)

Of the 2004 Dehlinger "Reserve" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir,94 points Robert Parker writes: "Dehlinger’s Pinot Noirs are so reasonably priced that consumers may overlook them. I just finished my last bottle of his 1994 Reserve, and it was still drinking beautifully. There are only 250 cases of the 2004 Pinot Noir Reserve, which is produced entirely from hillside sites. Of the 2010 Pichon-Lalande, Pauillac,Vinous writes: "An eternal wine, the 2010 Pichon Lalande is a total showstopper. The first impression is one of explosive power, but time in the glass brings out the wine’s more delicate, floral side. Violet, graphite, crème de cassis, licorice and menthol overtones recall the 1996, but the tannins here are much softer, sweeter and more polished. In two recent tastings, the 2010 has been positively stellar. The alternation of hot days and cool nights led to a late harvest. The Cabernet Sauvignon harvest did not start until October 7; by that date in 2009 all the fruit was in. Readers who can still find the 2010 should not hesitate, as it is a mode
