2010 Justin "Isosceles" Paso Robles Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 Justin "Isosceles" Paso Robles Bordeaux Blend (91ST). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright purple. Blackberry, dark cherry, licorice, wild herbs, chocolate and a touch of smoked game on the nose. Lush and deep but surprisingly lively, with concentrated flavors of dark berries and smoked meat. Expands and gains sweetness with air, finishing with substantial but harmonious tannins and very good length. (JR)" (12/2013)

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2010 Hayfork "Lewelling Ranch" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (93VN, 92RP). Vinous: "The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Lewelling Ranch has turned out beautifully now that it is in bottle. Sweet red cherries, mint, licorice are beautifully layered in a wine that stands out for its ripe, juicy personality. Clean veins of minerality frame the refined finish. This attractive, totally sexy Cabernet Sauvignon should drink well with minimum cellaring. It is another terrific effort from winemaker Haley Wight. The 2010 is 92% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Petit Verdot and 3% Merlot. (AG)" (12/2012)

2009 Domaine Robert Chevillon Nuits-St-Georges 1er Cru "Les Vaucrains"
Bid on this bottle of 2009 Domaine Robert Chevillon Nuits-St-Georges 1er Cru "Les Vaucrains" ((92-95BH), 94RP). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Here too there is a subtle touch of wood that does not interfere with the clear expression of the intensely earthy and sauvage character of lightly spiced red berry and cassis aromas. The supple yet quite concentrated broad-shouldered flavors are supported by very firm tannins before culminating in a tension-filled, serious and notably austere finish that is intense to the point of being borderline painful. This should be very long-lived because despite being a very big wine, the balance is faultless." (01/2011)

2009 Cayuse "God Only Knows" Walla Walla Valley Grenache
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Cayuse "God Only Knows" Walla Walla Valley Grenache (95JD, 95RP, 95WE, 93ST, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Fresh strawberry and elderberry are tinged with birch bark extract, black tea, and basil, making for an aromatically intriguing and lip-smacking palate presence. An upwelling of beef marrow and a Syrah- (or Gewurztraminer-) like hint of smoked meat add to the wine’s saliva-inducing savor. Here is a really vivid illustration of how the best Washington wines offer nearly luxuriant richness and sweet berry intensity but at the same time exhilarating vibrancy and lift. And, true to Baron’s repeatedly stated intentions, there are – beyond salt, stone, and smoky aura of black tea – elements impinging on this wine’s superbly sustained finish that can only be called “mineral,” even if one can’t find further words for them... Incidentally, the wine was vinified in concrete and then aged in demi-muids plus one concrete egg ... (DS)" (12/2012)

2013 Saxum "Rocket Block - James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Grenache (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum lot of 2013 Saxum "Rocket Block - James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Grenache (1.5L) (98RP, 95VN, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted on two separate occasions, just before and then after bottling, the 2013 Rocket Block James Berry Vineyard comes from an east-facing, cooler parcel in the James Berry Vineyard that's harvested very late. It is an extraordinary wine (100% destemmed Grenache) that was fermented and aged in concrete for a year before being moved to used barrels. Only bottled in 2003 and 2005 previously, the 2013 sports a medium ruby, mostly opaque purple color to go with ethereal notes of black raspberries, kirsch, currants, ground herbs, flowers and incense. Like all of Justin's 2013s, it leans towards the elegant and finesse-driven side of the spectrum, yet it has insane levels of purity, fine tannin, no hard edges and a sensational finish. Forget bottles for 3-4 years and drink over the following decade. (JD)" (08/2016)

Bid on this bottle of 1999 Bruno Giacosa "Santo Stefano di Neive" Barbaresco (93VN, 92RP, 91ST, 91WE, 90WS). Vinous: "Although a bit slender, the 1999 Barbaresco Santo Stefano is in great shape tonight. Still fresh and nicely delineated, the 1999 has also aged quite well. The 1999 has always been a slender, narrowly built wine, especially next to the surrounding vintages, but tonight it is quite expressive and absolutely delicious. I would not wait too long, as the 1999 will be much less pleasurable once the modest fruit starts to fade. This is without question the best and most expressive bottle of the 1999 I have had. 1976 Beaulieu Vineyard "Georges de Latour Private Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 1976 Beaulieu Vineyard "Georges de Latour Private Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (95RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "At present, the 1976 is undoubtedly the greatest B.V. Private Reserve made in the last 30 years. The wine, which has been spectacular from its release, continues to be the richest, most exotic of all the B.V. Private Reserves I have tasted. Did the monumental 1951 resemble this wine at a similar age? The 1976 is full-bodied, with a huge, intoxicating perfume of sweet black and red fruits, earth, Asian spices, roasted herbs, and toasty oak. This massive, full-bodied, super-concentrated, fragrant, alcoholic wine is close to full maturity. It is the quintessential example of the B.V. Private Reserve style - the likes of which has not been made since. It should continue to drink well for another 20 years. (RP)" (06/1995)

2012 Aubert "Larry Hyde & Sons Vineyard" Carneros Chardonnay
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2012 Aubert "Larry Hyde & Sons Vineyard" Carneros Chardonnay (96RP, 94VN, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "No tasting note given for 2014 review. 2013 review: The 2012 Chardonnay Larry Hyde & Sons (1,000 cases) comes from a 4-acre vineyard that produces nearly 1,000 cases. The straw color reveals a greenish hue, and the wine bursts from the glass with notes of exotic fruits, wet stones, limes and white peaches. It has a kinship to a great Coche-Dury Corton-Charlemagne. 1980 Heitz Cellars "Martha's Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1980 Heitz Cellars "Martha's Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. 90 points from John Gilman's history of Heitz, his 2011 review of the 1980 Martha's Vineyard: "The 1980 Martha’s Vineyard is a lovely wine that is just now reaching its apogee of peak maturity. It is not a great year for Martha’s, which shows itself with just a touch of backend bitterness, but this is a very small point in what is otherwise a very nice, more measured vintage of this lovely wine. The bouquet is à point and quite classic in its aromatic blend of red and black cherries, mint, cigar ash, lovely soil tones, incipient notes of chipotle and just a touch of tariness. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and quite refined on the attack, with good mid-palate depth, melted tannins, lovely focus and very good length and grip on the finish. There is a possibility that the touch of backend bitterness here will vanish with more bottle age, and if this is the case, then my score w

1994 Dominus Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this bottle of 1994 Dominus Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (99RP, 97ST, 93VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Christian Moueix and his talented winemaking team continue to rewrite the definition of a Napa Valley reference point wine. I have had a difficult time keeping the corks in my bottles of 1994 Dominus. Eight-thousand cases were produced from a blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Cabernet Franc, 12% Merlot, and 4% Petit Verdot. In this vintage, 174 days passed between bud break and the harvest, a remarkable period of time for any wine region in the world. The 1994 is a strikingly thick, compellingly rich wine with the texture of a great Pomerol, despite being made primarily from Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine exhibits a dense purple color, and an incredibly fragrant nose of jammy black fruits, spice, smoke, and loamy, truffle-like scents. In the mouth, it is full-bodied, with thrilling levels of extract and richness, but no sense of heaviness or harshness. This seamless Dominu

Intense, floral-accented scents of orange zest, pit fruit and candied ginger. Powerful and broad but surprisingly energetic, offering sappy, palate-staining citrus marmalade and peach flavors lifted by tangy acidity. A suave honey note comes up with air and carries through the long, spicy finish. (JR)" (11/2011)

Vivid notes of graphite, pencil shavings, plums, cassis and grilled savory herbs come to life in a vivid, kaleidoscopic wine of notable pedigree. The aromatics alone are breathtaking, but the truth is that everything about the 2010 is phenomenal. Endless layers of fruit flow through to the complex, insanely beautiful finish. Blackberries, cassis, licorice, menthol and melted road tar all burst from the glass. The 2011 is wild and even a bit unrestrained, but it offers terrific potential. 2002 Domaine du Comte Liger-Belair Vosne Romanee "La Colombiere"
Bid on this bottle of 2002 Domaine du Comte Liger-Belair Vosne Romanee "La Colombiere". Allen Meadows writes: "The young Louis-Michel Liger-Belair, who has added two new and important wines for 2002, calls the vintage 'a real surprise. We had rot everywhere at the beginning of September and I was beginning to think that we were going to have another 1994 on our hands. Thankfully, there wasn't a lot of it but the initial signs were widespread. And then the famous north wind blew and completely changed the vintage as it stopped the rot, preserved the acidity and concentrated everything. In fact, it drastically concentrated the crop as it reduced yields to between 32 and 36 hl/ha but because the acidity was preserved, the grapes were beautifully balanced. Sugars were quite high and we chaptalized only .2%, which was really just to prolong the fermentations then it was to add alcohol. The vintage reminds me a lot of 2000 in that it's already agreeable. The malos were done early, in fact by

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2011 Shafer "Hillside Select" Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon (OWC - 96JS, 96RP, 95WE, 94VN, 93WS) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Possibly the Cabernet Sauvignon of the vintage is Shafer’s 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon Hillside Select. Last year I thought it was a strong effort, but it’s even better now that it’s been bottled. With an opaque black/purple color and notes of subtle burning charcoal embers, blueberry, blackberry and graphite, the wine has a certain Bordelais minerality, but then the richness of Napa kicks in. It’s full-bodied (somewhat unusual for a 2011) with lighter tannins, and no doubt the wine will be on a faster evolutionary track than vintages such as 2010, 2012 and 2013. Nevertheless, the Shafers and Elias said this was the toughest vintage they’d ever experienced. To be able to produce a compelling wine like this is a testament to their extraordinary skills and craftsmanship. This wine can be drunk now or cellared f

Vivid, nuanced and structured, the 1999 is a wine to cellar for another 5-10 years at a minimum to allow the flavors to flesh out. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Monte Bello ,72% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Merlot and 6% Petit Verdot is simply magnificent. Layers of dark red fruit, flowers, spices and graphite are all woven together in this utterly impeccable wine. The 2009 is an especially huge, intense Monte Bello, yet a sexy, silky core of fruit lies within its imposing frame. Everything comes together in this glorious, radiant wine. Last year the 2009 had some pretty stiff competition from the 2010, but today it is simply firing on all cylinders. Eric Baugher describes 2009 as a year with cold weather early on, followed by heat in early June and July. The fruit was brought in on October 12, just before an intense downpour swept through the region. There is a purity and silkiness supported by structure in the 2009 that is impossible not to admire. Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2009 DRC Domaine de la Romanée-Conti La Tâche Grand Cru (OWC - 98BH, 97RP, 97WS, 96ST) in original wood. Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This ripe effort really has not changed much since I last reviewed it from bottle in 2012 save for the fact that it is perhaps a bit less imposing than many vintages of La Tâche at the same very early stage. But overall I simply repeat my original review as it is still accurate: A discreet but incredibly complex nose features notes of spicy, pure and relatively high-toned fruit that is laced with plenty of rose petal and violet hints. There is excellent energy and freshness to the lacy and stunningly precise broad-scaled flavors that build in intensity from the densely concentrated mid-palate to the explosive and mouth coating finish that seemingly goes on without end ..." Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1982 Haut-Brion, Pessac-Léognan (98DC, 98JS, 96ST, 95RP, 95WS). James Suckling: "This is a phenomenal 1982 and it remains the most drinkable of the first growths. A strong iodine character here enveloped by delicious currants, shaved chocolate and spices. Full body with super-integrated tannins and a refined texture. Wonderful balance." (06/2016)

2001 Domaine Dujac Clos de la Roche Grand Cru
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2001 Domaine Dujac Clos de la Roche Grand Cru (94BH, 93VN, (89-91RP)). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "As is the case with this wine from 750 ml (see herein for that review), this beauty displays more elegance and finesse than usual with its pure aromas of earth, black and red fruit and spice that are nuanced by subtle notes of soy, coffee and hoisin. There is a really lovely mouth feel to the nicely voluminous, intense and mineral-laden middle weight flavors that deliver exceptionally fine length in an impeccably well-balanced finale. While certainly not at its apogee, this is one of those 2001s that is so harmonious that it could easily be enjoyed now though it clearly is still on the way up and thus should amply reward another 6 to 8 years of cellaring." 2009 Spottswoode "Family Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2009 Spottswoode "Family Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (97RP, 96WS, 94ST, 92VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Another super-impressive effort, the 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon boasts stunning depth and sheer power. Black currants, pencil shavings, mocha, incense and melted road tar are all woven together gracefully in this powerful, opulent wine. The tannins remain firm, so another few years of cellaring is a must. There is serious density and sheer power to burn. Today the 2009 is a touch less vibrant than the 2010, but more overt and voluptuous. A brooding, muscular finish rounds things out beautifully. The 2009 is 95% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot. Anticipated maturity: 2019-2034. (AG) " (12/2012)

2003 Dom Pérignon "Luminous" Brut Champagne (3L)
Bid on this 3L-bottle lot of 2003 Dom Pérignon "Luminous" Brut Champagne (3L) (94RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2003 is one of the most unusual Dom Perignons I have ever tasted, going back to 1952. Readers will remember that 2003 was a torrid vintage across northern Europe...The 2003 Dom Perignon is a big, broad shouldered wine. It does not have the seductiveness of the 2000, nor the power of the 2002. It is instead very much its own wine. In 2003 Geoffroy elected to use more Pinot Noir than is typically the case, and that comes through in the wine’s breath and volume. The 2003 is a big, powerful Champagne that will require quite a bit of time to shed some of its baby fat. The trademark textural finesse is there, though. I expect the 2003 to be a highly divisive Champagne because of its extreme personality, but then again, many of the world’s legendary wines were made from vintages considered freakish at the time. The 2003 is an atypically, rich, powerful, vinous Dom Perignon

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1996 Domaine Jean-Louis Chave Hermitage (94WE, 93WS, 92ST, 91RP). Wine Enthusiast: "In 1996 this extraordinary producer of Hermitage made a wine for the long haul. At release, it displayed superb fruit, bacon, anise, and tobacco flavors, all enveloped by huge tannins. Now it is going through a dumb stage, though the structure is there. Give it ten or 15 years and it will become something extraordinary." (11/1999)

2009 Chateau Montelena "Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2009 Chateau Montelena "Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (93RP, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Montelena's 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate wraps around the palate with serious depth. Even with all of its intensity, the 2009 has a silkiness that makes it incredibly delicious at this early stage. Red berries, flowers, tobacco and sweet herbs all flesh out on the generous, radiant finish. While many 2009s are a bit tight today, Montelena's 2009 Estate is showing very nicely, although it is keeping some cards close to the vest. I imagine the 2009 will start to enter its prime drinking window around age 8-10 and drink well for at least another decade beyond that. Anticipated maturity: 2017-2029. (AG)" (12/2012)

Intense aromas of ginger, citrus, candied berry and multigrain bread turn to honey, roasted almonds and graphite on the palate. It's all underscored by a precise structure and creamy texture. Its structure keeps it persistent through the long finish. A picture of precision and intensity. *Collectibles & Ranked #26 on Top 100 Wines of 2006* (BS)" (07/2006)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2011 Domaine Vincent Dauvissat Chablis Grand Cru "Les Clos" (96ST, 94RP, 94VN, 93BH). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Pale yellow. Bracing aromas of lemon, ginger, chalk and spices. At once dense and penetrating, with outstanding citric cut to the complex, slightly high-toned flavors of lemon zest, white pepper, minerals and subtle resiny spices. Here, too, the wine's intense chalky character gives it an impression of stronger acidity than the numbers would suggest. Boasts terrific fruit intensity, and the wonderfully precise finish goes on and on. A great showing today, and one of the superstars of the vintage. (ST)" (07/2013)

Nice tangy minerality keeps the edges nervy, ending on a vibrant, slightly high-toned note. (JM, Web Only-2010)"

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2001 Antinori "Solaia" Toscana (96RP, 96VN, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2001 Solaia, far superior to the overrated 1997 (to which I also prefer the 1999 and 1994) is a classic example of central Tuscan Cabernet at its best, ruby-purple in color, warm and explosive in its expression of black currant fruit, tobacco, tar, and graphite, superbly concentrated and dense on the palate but balanced and shapely at the same time and with a noble austerity and grip on the finish which resembles the best of Bordeaux. The wine is a sure bet for another two decades of superb drinking. (DT)" (04/2006)

2001 Biondi Santi (Tenuta Greppo) Brunello di Montalcino
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2001 Biondi Santi (Tenuta Greppo) Brunello di Montalcino. Traditional values are strictly followed at the Greppo estate, where the Biondi Santi family is still involved, and have been for more than a century, in the high quality production of a wine that was created, raised and made outstanding here. Haunting, as only a top-nothc Brunello can be, this 2001 shows an harmonious, well structured, and warm palate with a pretty much perfect balance between tannins and acidity. The nose is all withered roses, and the finish sings of balsam and blue fruits. Outstanding today, this will last in your cellar for a decade at least.

2014 Maybach Family "Materium" Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2014 Maybach Family "Materium" Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon (100RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The flagship, the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Materium, represents 560 cases and achieved 14.8% alcohol after aging in 90% new Taransaud and Darnajou casks. Remarkably, the wine matches the perfect 2013, with extraordinary fragrance of blueberry, blackberry, forest floor, truffle, spring flowers and background barbecue smoke followed by a thick, unctuously textured, juicy, but incredibly well-balanced, intense wine. This is built like a skyscraper with enormous quantities of blueberry, blackberry and cassis fruit, well-integrated acidity and sweet, gentle tannins. This is an extraordinary effort from Maybach that can be drunk now or cellared for up to 30 or more years. (RP)" (10/2016)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2005 Domaine Faiveley Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru ((95-97BH), 94ST). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "As aromatically complex as the Clos des Cortons is, the Clos de Bèze goes it one better with a dazzling array of spice, earth, mineral, fruit and subtle floral aromas that change every few seconds but continue onto the elegant, pure, transparent and vibrant flavors that possess superb power and striking depth of material on the unbelievably long finish. This is also quite firmly structured but completely balanced and the flavors are the perfect example of the term power without weight. A monument in the making but a wine for the patient. Complex notes of meat, game, dried plum, black olive and dried Mediterranean herbs with a whiff of brett influence giving notes of sweaty saddles and a distinctive medicinal / band-aid character. The palate is nicely structured with a medium+ level of finely grained tannins and a crisp backbone of acidity fleshed out by an ample concentration of evolved fruit flavours. Long finish. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2006 Alban "Reva" Edna Valley Syrah (100RP, 98JD, 97WS, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2006 Syrah Reva, coming from parcels of dark, volcanic soil, has off-the-chart richness and intensity. This thick, opaque-purple colored wine offers up notes of scorched earth, ground pepper, and blackberry liqueur intermixed with cassis, licorice, camphor, and tar. The wine is spectacular in every sense. Full-bodied and certainly not for wimps, this is a remarkably concentrated yet very nuanced and intense wine that should age for 20 more years. Inky purple-colored to the rim, with a glorious nose of white flowers, crème de cassis, hints of blackberry and boysenberry, some licorice and forest floor are followed by an enormously concentrated wine with fabulous purity, a skyscraper-like mid-palate and texture, a length of nearly a minute, and stunning flavors, with flawless integration of acidity, tannin, wood and alcohol. 1978 Petrus, Pomerol
Bid on this bottle of 1978 Petrus, Pomerol (91RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted at The Sampler in Islington. The -78 Petrus has never repeated the exquisite bottle poured at the IMW vertical in 2004. This has a light wild raspberry, leather, wild heather, chalk dust and a touch of sous-bois. The palate is medium-bodied, slightly coarse tannin on the entry, foursquare and masculine, touches of green pepper towards the finish that shows commendable weight. Nearing the end of its drinking plateau, a Petrus in graceful decline. Drink now-2018. Tasted November 2009. (Neil Martin-Wine Journal)" (05/2010)

Of the 2012 Sine Qua Non "Stock" Central Coast Syrah,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "A step up from the Grenache, the blockbuster-styled 2012 Syrah Stock checks in as a blend of 84% Syrah, 7% Grenache, 6% Petit Sirah, and the rest Viognier and Mourvedre, that was fermented with 32% whole clusters and aged in just over half new French oak. It offers stunning notes of blackcurrants, cassis, smoked meats, ground pepper and wild herbs to go with a full-bodied, unctuous, layered, yet always graceful and elegant feel on the palate. Nicely structured, with perfect overall balance, it still has the open-knit character of the vintage, yet has plenty of underlying structure, which at the moment is slightly hidden by the wine's lavish fruit.
