2015 Simon Bize Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru ''Les Fournaux''

93 points Decanter: "A beautiful bouquet of red cherry, strawberry, subtle currant leaf and woodsmoke precedes a silky wine with bright, crunchy fruit and fine, elegant tannins. Fragrant and complex. Drinking Window 2018 - 2045. (SB)" (10/2017) 89-92 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Green tea and floral aromas combine with those of spice, plum and earth. The supple, round and unusually forward medium-bodied flavors possess a generous, even suave mouth feel that terminates in a persistent and mildly rustic finale. This isn't particularly dense but offers fine depth and length fashioned in a style that should repay m ...Read More »

2004 Domaine Ponsot Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru

92 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Ponsot does not usually serve the Clos St. Denis before the Chapelle and when I asked about it, he simply said 'you'll see why.' While I don't quite agree that the Chapelle is superior to the fabulous Clos St. Denis, it's remarkably close and in contrast to a number of vintages, the comparison is much closer than it usually is. For starters, this is an amazingly dense wine for the vintage, both in terms of the sheer volume of fruit and the layered, opulent, almost thick flavors that are impressively concentrated, complex and loaded with mid-palate sap. 2015 Domaine de Bila Haut "Occultum Lapidem" Côtes de Roussillon-Villages Latour de France

94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the more polished, sexy examples of the cuvee, the 2015 Côtes du Roussillon Villages Latour de France Occultum Lapidem checks in as a blend of 50% Syrah, 40% Grenache and the balance Carignan and Mourvèdre, aged all in concrete tanks. It boasts killer notes of black raspberries, cassis, pepper and licorice, with just a hint of chocolate appearing with time in the glass. This medium to full-bodied, layered and beautifully textured red is an incredible value and will be impossible to resist over the coming 4-5 years, and I’m sure it will keep even l ...Read More »

90-92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2015 Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru Les Peuillets, which sees around 20% new oak, offers lively blackberry and raspberry scents on the notes, touches of iodine emerging with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin. This Savigny has impressive really seems to fill the mouth with juicy black fruit, offering a hint of spicebox and white pepper on the finish. This is a lovely 2015 and it should drink well for 4-6 years.(NM)" (12/2016) 91 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A discreet application of wood sets off unusually deeply pitched aromas of plum liqueur, earth, fl ...Read More »

90 points Vinous: "(entirely destemmed; bottled in December of 2016): Good medium red. Rather open-knit aromas of strawberry, raspberry and spices. Supple, seamless and sweet, boasting excellent fruit intensity; a very ripe style but with good inner-mouth spicy lift and length. Nothing fat or sloppy about this very satisfying village wine. (ST)" (1/2018) Allen Meadows - Burghound: "(a blend of 1/3 Les Vigneux and 2/3 declassified fruit from the lower portion of the 1er Aux Brûlées). 2015 Domaine Fontaine-Gagnard Chassagne Montrachet 1er Cru "La Garnde Montagne"

91-93 points Vinous: "Bright, light yellow. Aromatic scents of lemon oil, mirabelle, crushed stone and spices. A step up in texture and concentration from the preceding premier crus, offering generous flavors of yellow peach and spices. Finishes impressively long and lively. This wine comes from stony hillside soil but the vines here were not stressed owing to their deep roots, Fontaine maintains.(ST)" (9/2017) 91 points John Gilman: "The 2015 Grande Montagne from the Fontaines is excellent and really shows a lot of stony minerality on both the nose and palate this year. Full-bodied, elegant, fine and restrained, the silken palate has a quiet intensity, finishing long with savory layers.(LPB)" (10/2017) 95 points Vinous: "The 2016 Chardonnay Eastside Vineyard is one of the more open-knit, accessible wines in the range, and the first of these Chardonnays I would choose to open. 2014 Buglioni Valpolicella Classico Superiore

The Buglioni family purchased their property in Valpolicella in 1993, and for years after worked tirelessly in the vineyards while completing renovation of the cellars and farmhouse. Upon completion in 2000, they hired enologist Diego Bertoni and earnestly dedicated themselves to wine production. The Classico is a blend of 60% Corvina, 25% Corvinone, 10% Rondinella, and 5% Croatina. It is the epitome of heart-warming wine for the Italian dinner table. It's fresh, traditional, and pure - aging in steel tanks for 6 months, and then resting briefly in the b... Read More »

2016 Domaine de la Mordorée "La Reine des Bois" Châteauneuf-du-Pape

94-96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I tasted several components of what will likely become the 2016 Chateauneuf du Pape La Reine des Bois, all of which were remarkable. A Syrah from vat was stunning, offering flamboyant blueberries and spice along with silky tannins, while a Grenache component from barrel was incredibly rich and layered. I suspect my projected score is conservative. It was a pleasure to meet the young and energetic Ambra Delorme, who is working with her mom to carry on Christophe's proud legacy in Tavel and nearby appellations. During my visit, we were capably assisted ...Read More »

2017 Ostatu Rosado Rioja

Based in the Rioja Alavesa town of Samaniego, Ostatu has worked diligently to fine tune the style of their rosado and truly has produced one of our favorite, everyday value pink wines from Spain over the past few vintages. A blend of Tempranillo with some Garnacha and Viura, this rosé's gently hued pink color suggests a light touch and relatively quick skin maceration, as does its fresh, lively, red fruited profile. This is a big gulp type of wine, delicious on its own or with charcuterie, cheeses, veges and aioli, grilled fish, cured anchovies, roasted ... Read More »

2015 Domaine Roulot Meursault "Vireuils"

90-92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2015 Meursault Vireuils, which had not been fined unlike some others, offers enticing aromas of nectarine and white peach mixed with subtle melted wax aromas. It comes across as detailed and quite "attacking" in style. The palate is very well balanced with a harmonious entry. It sashays along with white peach, citrus lemon and hints of frangipane, leading to a cohesive and quite intense spicy finish. This is very fine, Jean-Marc, very fine.(NM)" (4/2017) 89-91 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "cooler, more restrained and more elegant aromatic array offers up notes of lemon-infused white orch ...Read More »

Jackie O's "Bourbon Barrel Aged Skipping Stone" Belgian Style Quad aged in Bourbon Barrels, Ohio (750ml)

**ARRIVING 5/24** In early 2011, we began to experiment with Trappist yeast, crafting some traditional abbey style ales. Initially, 3 beers were designed and brewed. Each was named after one of the three watersheds that feeds Athens County: Shade Abbey, Raccoon Dubbel. and Hocking Triple. When it came time to brew a fourth, a quad, we thought long and hard about what to name it. Through reflection, the innocent acts of skipping stones skimmed to the surface. A timeless action of nature in motion inspired a beer both rich and elegant. Bourbon Barrel Ski... Read More »

Love the finish. Lightly decadent. Beautiful. Drink now." 2017 Domaine Marcel Lapierre Morgon

On the palate the wine is full-bodied, very concentrated and searingly mineral, with enormous length and cut for the vintage. Colin’s pure style means that the vineyard is front and centre here.
