2016 Domaine Bart Bonnes Mares Grand Cru

91-94 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A distinctly earthy and spicy nose flashes notes of dark cherry, rose petal and raspberry. The much richer and more concentrated big-bodied flavors possess excellent power on the robust, dusty and mouth coating finish. This is a big but not massive Bonnes Mares that should drink well after only 5-ish years but has the stuffing to reward at least 10 to 12." (1/2018) 94 points Decanter: "This hails exclusively from the terres blanches part of this grand cru, where the limestone soil is interspersed with marine fossils. It opens in the glass with an incipiently complex nose of ca ...Read More »

2017 Domaine Marcel Lapierre Morgon

94 points James Suckling: "Some very stony and flinty aromas with graphite. Red and dark plums, too. Smells fresh and very complex already. The palate has great density and a fine, compressed tannin texture, as well as a very focused finish. Spiced black cherries and blackberries, cassis and dark chocolate to close. Short carbonic maceration and juice is racked off during the carbonic process. A captivatingly powerful but focused Morgon. No Côte du Puy due to the hail in 2017. Best from 2020." (2/2018)

2016 Josmeyer "Le Kottabe" Riesling Alsace (Organic-Biodynamic)

91 points Vinous: "Straw-yellow. Fresh citrus aromas on the nose. Then fresh and juicy, offering flavors of tangerine peel and lime. Lovely wine with harmonious acidity and blood orange nuances that linger nicely. This should be on sale by now. (ID)" (4/2018) 90 points Wine Enthusiast: "This wine has a creamy touch on the nose but on the palate, lemon and an herbal, mossy freshness dominate. The creamy aspect makes for a textural backdrop. The finish is fresh, clean and dry. (AK)" (6/2018) Wine Spectator: "A crisp, minerally white, with blood orange, slivered almond and subtle honeycomb notes. Offers a snappy, stone-ting ...Read More »

2016 Aubert "Larry Hyde and Sons Vineyard" Carneros Chardonnay(1.5L)

95-97 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2016 Chardonnay Larry Hyde and Sons Vineyard has a provocative savory/meaty nose with yeast extract, brine and nut nuances over a core of ripe pears and white peaches plus a waft of lime leaves. Medium to full-bodied, it fills the palate with stone fruit and savory layers, with a lovely oiliness to the texture offset by a racy acid line, finishing long.(LPB)" (10/2017) 97 points Vinous: "The 2016 Chardonnay Larry Hyde and Sons is so delicate, precise and nuanced. In 2016, the Hyde leans more towards the citrus end of the spectrum. Candied lemon peel and lifted floral not ...Read More »

2016 Byron Blatty "Tremor" Los Angeles County Red Blend

From the winery: "The 2016 Tremor is our take on a "GSM." 65% Grenache, 30% Merlot, and 5% Syrah make this an incredibly complex and layered cuvée that is not shy on fruit and bold flavors. Aged 18 months in French oak (60% new). 98 cases produced."

2015 Domaine Jean-Marc & Huighes Pavelot Savigny-Les-Beaune 1er Cru "Serpentieres"

92 points John Gilman: "The 2015 Pavelot Serpentières is another fine example of the vintage, with the lovely ripe fruit nicely grounded in a vein of minerality. The bouquet jumps from the glass in a ripe blend of black plums, dark chocolate, roasted pigeon, a touch of Savigny spice tones, vanillin oak and fairly complex minerality. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, long and nicely balanced, with plush fruit on the attack, a fine core and impressive mineral drive on the long and ripely tannic finish. I really like the interplay between the generous fruit and the unde ...Read More »

2016 Strub Niersteiner Paterburg Riesling Spatlese Rheinhessen

90 points Vinous: "The Strubs continue to adorn the label of this wine with three stars, though nowadays they offer only a single sweet Spätlese from the Paterberg (so you may see this same wine referred to elsewhere as simply “Paterberg Spätlese”). On the nose, lemon, Persian melon, cress and mint anticipate the dynamic of this wine’s silken palate, juxtaposing animating brightness and incisive cut with luscious ripeness and cooling caress. Sweetness here is more obvious than in this year’s other Strub offerings, but that fits the wine’s personality, and on the lingering ...Read More »

2017 Zorzal "Terroir Unico" Pinot Noir Tupungato Valley

The 2017 vintage of what has to be one of our more serious sub $15 Pinot Noirs in Zorzal's "Terroir Unico" is delicious: slightly floral, a bit savory, and nicely structured with precise, lightly firm tannins. Based in the Gualtallary district of the Uco Valley, an area prized for its complex soils containing calcareous, granite, and stone alluvial deposits, Zorzal, and the brothers Michelini who make its wines, are definitely forging a new path for Argentinean wine. Their m.o. is generally to harvest much earlier than everyone else; they prize acidity i... Read More »

2016 Domaine Bart "Hervelets" Fixin 1er Cru

88-91 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Firm reduction. The more refined middle weight flavors display both good minerality and detail on the mildly austere but not drying finish that offers fine if not special depth and persistence. This will need at least a few years of patience." (1/2018) Decanter: "Les Hervelets is a nice success in 2016, opening in the glass with notes of smoked meat, wild black fruit, roast espresso and coniferous forest floor. On the palate the wine is supple and nicely concentrated, the fine but chalky tannins only asserting themselves on the back end. Drinking Window 2025 - 2035. ...Read More »

2016 Domaine Marc Colin Puligny-Montrachet "Le Trézin"

88-90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2016 Puligny Montrachet le Trezin was taken from tank. It had a tightly wound nose at first, opening gradually with citrus fruit and a tang of licorice. The palate is medium-bodied with a slightly honeyed texture, notes of lemongrass and white pepper interlacing the citrus fruit with a tang of marmalade on the finish. It might lack some finesse but there is a lot going on in this le Trezin. Fine. 2016 Domaine de la Mordorée "La Reine des Bois" Châteauneuf-du-Pape

94-96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I tasted several components of what will likely become the 2016 Chateauneuf du Pape La Reine des Bois, all of which were remarkable. A Syrah from vat was stunning, offering flamboyant blueberries and spice along with silky tannins, while a Grenache component from barrel was incredibly rich and layered. I suspect my projected score is conservative. It was a pleasure to meet the young and energetic Ambra Delorme, who is working with her mom to carry on Christophe's proud legacy in Tavel and nearby appellations. During my visit, we were capably assisted ...Read More »

2015 Domaine Jean-Marc & Huighes Pavelot Savigny-Les-Beaune 1er Cru "Peuillets"

90-92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2015 Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru Les Peuillets, which sees around 20% new oak, offers lively blackberry and raspberry scents on the notes, touches of iodine emerging with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin. This Savigny has impressive volume...it really seems to fill the mouth with juicy black fruit, offering a hint of spicebox and white pepper on the finish. This is a lovely 2015 and it should drink well for 4-6 years.(NM)" (12/2016) 91 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A discreet application of wood sets off unusually deeply pitched aromas of plum liqueur, earth, fl ...Read More »

2011 Hartwell "Estate Reserve" Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon

2015 Domaine Gerard Mugneret Chambolle Musigny 1er Cru "Les Charmes'

92-94 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Notes of kirsch, black cherry and plenty of floral influence serve as an elegant introduction to the dense, serious and powerful middle weight flavors that again enjoy an abundance of sappy dry extract. That is a good thing because this robust and overtly powerful effort is quite firmly structured, indeed to the point that I would recommend not touching a bottle for at least 7 to 8 years. I would add that this is perhaps less Charmes like in 2015 than in other vintages as it is built-to-age and is very much going to need it. Highly recommended." 2012 Domaine Faiveley Corton-Clos des Cortons Faiveley Grand Cru (Monopole)

93-96 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright, deep red. Deep aromas of black cherry, crushed rock and graphite. Dense, sappy and energetic, offering outstanding depth to its soil-driven black cherry and saline flavors. Delivers an uncanny combination of chewy texture and verve. Finishes with palate-staining length and lift, as tactile as a solid. A great vin de terroir for the cellar." (1/2014) 93-95 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "*Don't Miss!* The quality of this wine has skyrocketed over the past few vintages; while it was always very good, it has now become one of the most consistent performers in the Faiveley portfolio. 2015 Mount Langi Ghiran "Billi Billi" Shiraz Grampians Victoria

91 points Vinous: "Lurid ruby. Fresh blueberry, potpourri and a hint of vanilla on the intensely perfumed nose. Shows very good depth and focus to its juicy red and blue fruit flavors, with no excess fat. Round, even tannins lend shape to a very long, smooth, spice-tinged finish that leaves notes of cherry and mint behind. This Shiraz delivers outstanding value. (JR)" (6/2017)

2016 Domaine Alain Chavy Puligny Montrachet 1er Cru "Champs Gain"

89-91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2016 Puligny Montrachet 1er Cru Champ Gains, matured in up to 35% new oak, was showing a touch of reduction on the nose like the En Remilly, although it was far easier to discern the intense citrus and Granny Smith apple scents underneath. The palate is well balanced with a fine line of acidity, lightly honeyed fruit, not a complex Champs Gain but one endowed with nascent energy and there is a pleasant prickle of spice on the finish. Give this a couple of years in barrel to show what it can do. (NM)" (12/2017)

The finish delivers a lingering mix of sweet berry and mineral notes. Best from 2014 through 2028. 20 cases imported. (BS)" (11/2011)

2010 Buglioni Amarone della Valpolicella 1.5L

Drink through 2022. (KO)" (12/2015)
