Equipo Navazos La Bota de Manzanilla #55 Sanlucar de Barrameda

93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The pungent and marine NV La Bota de Manzanilla 55 is one new bottling of a Manzanilla from seven years of aging under flor in the Barrio Bajo in Sanlúcar, from the Sánchez Ayala winery with a really pungent aroma, the character of this particular winery, really high acetaldehyde, a sub-product of the biological aging, for me a textbook, pungent Manzanilla, that won't please the drinker of light, over filtered, industrial Manzanillas. The palate is medium-bodied with very intense, sharp flavors. This is ready to be enjoyed now, but it will develop a diff ...Read More »

2006 Domaine Bouchard Père & Fils Le Corton Grand Cru

93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "*Don't Miss!* A reserved and relatively cool nose of wild red berries, game, underbrush and crushed herbs introduces earthy, intense and impressively broad scaled and powerful flavors that are dense, balanced and vibrant and really stain the palate on the explosively long finish that is youthfully austere. A stunner that should age beautifully well." (4/2008) 93 points Wine Enthusiast: "Corton is the largest grand cru in Burgundy (all of 240 acres) and its style can vary widely. Bouchard has gone for a relatively soft style, emphasizing fruits, raspberry, myrtle and black currants, t ...Read More »

2006 Justin "Isosceles" Reserve Paso Robles Red Blend

Wine Enthusiast: "Very ripe, almost overripe, with an edge of raisins. But the structure of tannins and acids is fine, and the pruniness acts as a foil against the blackberries, cherries and cedar wood. Drink now." (10/2009) K&L Notes: Notes from the producer's website: "The highest expression of JUSTIN Vineyards & Winery is our ISOSCELES Reserve. Sourced entirely from our home estate vineyard planted in 1981 this wine reflects the pinnacle of our efforts. Vines planted on native root stock, in nutrient depleted soils, dry farmed and hand harvested produce tiny yields that are big on ... Read More »

2015 Domaine William Fèvre Chablis Grand Cru Bougros "Côte de Bouguerots"

97 points Decanter: "From just over two hectares planted on the steepest part of the vineyard. Pungent yet elegant white peach nose displaying discreet power. Fine attack, precise and lifted, with ample fruit and a light touch. Silky and refined with a clear minerality on the finish. Not a flashy style, but tense and very long. (SB)" (1/2017) 95 points John Gilman: "Given how superb the 2015 'regular' Bougros is this year from Domaine Fèvre, I have very high expectations for the Côte de Bouguerots and they were not disappointed! 2015 Calera Mt. Harlan Chardonnay

96 points Jeb Dunnuck: "On another level and a beautiful Chardonnay that does everything right, the 2015 Chardonnay Mt Harlan comes from limestone soils and spent 14 months in 30% new French oak. It has an incredible salinity as well as notes of citrus, tart apples, orange blossom and toasted bread. Clean, crisp and laser focused on the palate, yet with fruit and depth, it’s a dead ringer for a Grand Cru White Burgundy. It will be even better in another 6-12 months, and keep through 2025. 2014 Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru "Abbaye de Morgeot"

89-92 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This is also sufficiently reduced as to render a proper assessment of the nose impossible. The palate impression of the delicious and round full-bodied flavors is one of elevated ripeness along with plenty of sappy dry extract that buffers the citrusy if slightly less complex finale. This too should drink well relatively early on." (6/2016) 88-91 points Vinous: "Colin-Morey has a métayage arrangement on this 13-year-old vineyard, which was recently purchased by American wine collector Wilf Jaeger, who is also a part-owner of RN74 in San Francisco): Bright, light yellow. 2005 Bouchard Père & Fils Nuits-St-Georges "Les Cailles"

91-94 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "An even riper nose of violets, cassis and black cherry aromas marries well with rich, full and seductive flavors that possess good focus and power as well as a velvety, indeed even silky mouth feel. A balanced, harmonious and deep offering that should age well for a long time." (4/2007) 92 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good full deep red. Sexy, spicy aromas of tangy red fruits and sandalwood. Broad, lush, seamless and full, with a sappy quality to the red fruit, smoke and spice flavors. That said, it is pretty spectacular even today. This is a vintage that will appeal to readers who enjoy firm, structured wines. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2024. (AG)" (11/2011) 95 points Wine Spectator: "Beautiful violet, berry and raspberry character. Very fruity and pretty. Full-bodied, with supersilky tannins and a long, long finish. This site sees wider temperature swings than the Bedrock Vineyard, which in large part explains the wine’s flavor profile and structure. This is a deep, serious wine with many years of aging potential. It has just the right balance of acidity to maintain its shape and proportions. It's likely to age well over many years. Drink from 2024. *Cellar Selection*" (12/2017) 96 points Wine Spectator: "This shows the vivid, racy side of Barsac, with streaming flavors of pineapple, yellow apple, green plum and white ginger, displaying lovely energy from start to finish. 2012 Turley "Hayne Vineyard" Napa Valley Zinfandel

94 points Vinous: "The 2012 Zinfandel Hayne Vineyard is one of the most tannic and structured Zinfandel in Turley's extensive lineup. Tense, brilliant and beautifully sculpted throughout, the 2012 bursts from the glass with explosive concentration and pulsating acididy. Winemaker Tegan Passalacqua gave the 2012 three extra months in barrel, all of which it clearly needed. Readers will have to be patient here. (AG)" (12/2014) 91-93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Zinfandel Hayne Vineyard (planted in 1953) is a rich, full-bodied beauty that seems more developed and evolved than previous examples of this c ...Read More »

1999 Giacomo Conterno "Monfortino" Barolo Riserva

98 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1999 Barolo Riserva Monfortino takes things to another level, hard as that may be to believe. It is deeply expressive in its aromatics, with breathtaking nuances of roses, menthol, spices and licorice that emerge from the glass, melding seamlessly onto the palate where complex layers of dark ripe fruit captivate the taster in an endless counterpoint of aromas, flavors and sensations that are hard to fully capture with mere words. Full-bodied with layers of depth and richness, moderately high but sweet tannins, and a terrific finish, it will be even better with 3-4 years of bottle age, and should last two decades. (RP)" (12/2009) 94 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good deep red-ruby. Sexy, very ripe, slightly high-toned aromas of sweet plum, tobacco leaf and minerals. (2/2016) 92-94 points Vinous: "Pale, bright yellow. Underripe pineapple, white grapefruit, mint and crushed stone on the nose. A dead-ringer for a great Cote Rotie because of the Viognier component and cooler site, it exhibits fragrant notes of spring flowers, apricot marmalade, jammy black currants and cherries as well as hints of spice box and vanilla. Ripe, full-bodied, unctuously textured and gorgeously long and pure, this is a terrific offering from a vineyard with a long history of turning out top-flight Syrahs for different winemakers. 95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The slightly more expensive, opaque purple-hued 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon Wight Vineyard (aged 18 months in 100% new French oak) is essentially a barrel selection. Obviously, the more structured wines with more density and aging potential were chosen for this cuvee. Very backward compared to the Napa bottling, the Wight Vineyard exhibits more graphite and toast along with creme de cassis, smoke and floral characteristics. Coming from the red iron soils of old-vine Zinfandel plots (some of which date back to the 1890s), this blend of 95% Zinfandel and 5% Alicante Bouchet was aged in one-third new French oak. It exhibits a deep purple color, full body, and notes of briary, wild strawberry, cherry and raspberry fruit intermixed with notions of tar, earth, pepper and charcuterie. Relatively strong reduction dominates the nose though there is ample body and richness to the suave yet precise flavors that exude a fine minerality on the very ripe finish that offers excellent volume if less complexity than usual. 93 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Inky purple. Complex, perfumed scents of dark fruit liqueur, olive, cola and smoky oak spices. Plush and expansive, offering sweet cherry compote and blueberry flavors complicated by violet pastille and bitter chocolate. Emphatically syrah, finishing with excellent power, sneaky tannins and a late jolt of black pepper. For such a deeply flavored wine, this one boasts surprising vivacity. (ST)" (5/2013) 91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Hints of blackberry, blueberry, violets and tar emerge from the glass in the 2009 Syrah Rattlesnake Rock. This is a relatively soft, juicy Syrah built more ...Read More »

2010 Big Basin Vineyards "Paderewski Vineyard " Paso Robles Rhone Blend

95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Paderewski Vineyard is strikingly beautiful. A blend of Syrah, Grenache and Mourvedre, the 2010 impresses for the way it expresses the richness of Paso Robles fruit, but in a more refined, vibrant style than is typical of Paso. The new oak is beautifully balanced here. It is absolutely fascinating and eye opening that this wine tastes nothing like the wines being made in Paso from the very same site. This is a wine of pure finesse and elegance above all else. All of the fruit was picked between October 21 and 29. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2020. ...Read More »

2014 Domaine Vincent Dauvissat Chablis 1er Cru "Vaillons"

90-93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Notes of cool mineral reduction combine with restrained aromas of mostly white orchard fruit, iodine, pepper and hints of algae. The gorgeously textured middle weight flavors exhibit plenty of minerality on the tighter, more intense and chiseled finish that deliver excellent length. This beauty should drink well both young and old as there is very good mid-palate density." (10/2015) 91-93 points Vinous: "Bright, pale yellow-green. Lemon, menthol and wet stone on the nose, lifted by a floral topnote. Juicy, intense and firm, delivering sharply chiseled lemon and mineral flavors. ...Read More »

2012 Turley "Dusi Vineyard" Paso Robles Zinfandel

91-93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Zinfandel Dusi comes from a vineyard planted in 1945, and is still farmed by the Dusi family. It is one of the stars of the vintage for Larry Turley. (RP)" (12/2013) 93 points Vinous: "An explosive wine with real personality, the 2012 Zinfandel Dusi Vineyard is all about voluptuousness and texture. Dark, ripe and seductive, the 2012 shows the inherent richness of Paso Robles. Sweet spices, dark plums and a hint of espresso are layered into the inviting finish. (AG)" (12/2014) 92 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Riper and higher-toned on the nose than the Pesenti, hinting at blackberry and licorice. A s ...Read More »
